Gulfstream private jet charter

Gulfstream is a subsidiary of General Dynamics and the leading name in large-cabin ultra-long-range business aviation. General Dynamics reported 158 aircraft delivered in 2025 (136 large-cabin, 22 G280 mid-cabin), up from 136 total the year before, with an $21.83 billion aerospace backlog and $15.5 billion in new orders booked during the year. The G700 entered service in April 2024 with a 2,840 ft cabin altitude at FL410, which Gulfstream says is the lowest of any business jet in production. The G800 received FAA and EASA certification in April 2025 and entered service the same year as the direct replacement for the G650, which ended production in February 2025 after 595-plus deliveries across 55 countries. The G600 has passed 200 deliveries. The Symmetry Flight Deck, standard on the G500, G600, G700 and G800, was the first in business aviation to feature active control sidesticks and 10 touchscreens.

Private Jets UK arranges Gulfstream charter from all UK airports. Every aircraft flies with a full professional crew and is maintained to EASA airworthiness standards. Charter cost depends on the specific model, route, date and number of passengers. Get a quote via WhatsApp on +44 204 577-31-19 or by email at [email protected]

Gulfstream fleet - models available for charter

The current Gulfstream range covers four active production families from super-midsize (G280) to ultra-large-cabin ultra-long-range (G800). The G500, G600, G700 and G800 all carry the Symmetry Flight Deck, with 10 touchscreens, active control sidesticks, Phase-of-Flight intelligence, Synthetic Vision and dual head-up displays with Enhanced Flight Vision System. A pilot type rating on the G500/G600 covers the G700/G800 as well, which reduces crew certification cost for operators running mixed Gulfstream fleets.

Super-Midsize - G280 - from £4,000/hr

The G280 is Gulfstream's super-midsize entry: 10 passengers, 3,600 nm range at Mach 0.85, full fly-by-wire, steep approach certified including London City, and a flat-floor stand-up cabin at 2.18 m wide. Gulfstream delivered 22 G280s in 2025. At 3,600 nm it covers all European destinations non-stop from any UK airport and reaches New York with one fuel stop. Rates from £4,000 per flight hour.

Long-Range - G500 and G600 - from £7,000/hr

The G500 entered service in September 2018; the G600 followed in August 2019. Both carry the Symmetry Flight Deck, with the G600 running Rolls-Royce Pearl 600 engines and the G500 on Pratt and Whitney Canada PW800s. The G600 passed 200 deliveries in early 2026, with the G500 and G600 combined fleet exceeding 350 aircraft. G600 range is 6,600 nm at Mach 0.85; the G500 covers 5,300 nm. Both carry a 100% fresh air system with no recirculation. Rates from £7,000/hr for the G500 and £9,000/hr for the G600. See also: Gulfstream G550 for charter.

Ultra-Long-Range - G700 - from £14,000/hr

The G700 received FAA type certification on 29 March 2024 and entered service with first customer deliveries on 23 April 2024. The cabin runs 17.35 m across five living areas with 20 large oval windows. Cabin altitude at FL410 is 2,840 ft, which Gulfstream says is the lowest of any business jet in production, and the difference is reportedly measurable in how passengers arrive on long overnight sectors. Maximum range is 7,750 nm at Mach 0.85; maximum cruise is Mach 0.935. Two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines at 18,250 lbf each. Steep approach certified for London City. Rates from £14,000 per flight hour.

Ultra-Long-Range Flagship - G800 - from £16,000/hr

The G800 received FAA and EASA certification in April 2025 and entered service the same year as the replacement for the G650. General Dynamics described it in its 2025 Annual Report as offering 8,200 nm at Mach 0.85, which puts Dubai to Houston and Singapore to Los Angeles within non-stop reach. Around 13 aircraft were delivered in 2025. The G800 shares the G700's Pearl 700 engines, Symmetry Flight Deck and four-zone cabin configuration, while offering 450 nm more range at the same cruise speed. Gulfstream puts fuel efficiency at 33% better than older Gulfstream models, though the comparison baseline varies by model. Rates from £16,000 per flight hour.

Legacy models - G550, GV, G650, GIVSP - still available

The G650 (production ended February 2025, 595-plus delivered, 55 countries) remains widely available for charter from existing operators and is expected to stay that way for some years given the size of the active fleet. The G550 (2,000-plus delivered, 6,750 nm, 2003 Collier Trophy for the PlaneView cockpit) is the most available large-cabin Gulfstream in the UK charter market. The G650ER, GV and GIVSP also remain active. These legacy types offer competitive rates while providing the same Gulfstream large-cabin specification. Charter a G550. Rates from £6,000/hr for the GV/G550 and £9,000/hr for the G650.

Why Gulfstream tends to lead large-cabin charter

  • The G700 cabin altitude is the lowest of any business jet in current production. Gulfstream puts the G700's cabin altitude at 2,840 ft at FL410. The Bombardier Global 7500 sits at around 2,900 ft at FL510; the Dassault Falcon 6X is approximately 3,700 ft. On 8 to 12-hour overnight sectors the difference in how passengers arrive is reportedly attributable to cabin altitude and oxygen partial pressure, though individual experience varies. The G700's five distinct living areas and 20 large oval windows provide a spatial experience that is simply not available in aircraft with three or four zones;
  • The G800 covers 8,200 nm at Mach 0.85, the longest range of any business jet in current production. General Dynamics confirmed this in its 2025 Annual Report. Two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines at 18,250 lbf each, the same powerplant as the G700, provide thrust for the extended range while delivering fuel efficiency Gulfstream puts at 33% better than older models. The G800 received FAA and EASA certification in April 2025. At 8,200 nm it covers city pairs including Dubai to Houston and Singapore to New York that are beyond the G700's non-stop capability;
  • The Symmetry Flight Deck introduced active control sidesticks to business aviation. The 10 touchscreen displays, Phase-of-Flight intelligence that reconfigures the cockpit automatically for each flight phase, and dual Head-Up Displays with Enhanced Flight Vision System give the G500, G600, G700 and G800 a cockpit that was ahead of competing platforms when it launched and remains the most advanced in production. A pilot type rating on the G500/G600 covers G700/G800 operations, which matters to operators managing mixed-fleet certification costs;
  • 158 large-cabin aircraft delivered in 2025, with a $21.83 billion backlog and $15.5 billion in new orders. General Dynamics' aerospace unit generated $13.1 billion in revenue in 2025. The book-to-bill ratio of 1.2x for the year confirms demand running ahead of production. For charter clients, the practical effect is parts availability, crew density and aircraft availability at the level that keeps large-cabin Gulfstreams on the market in volume;
  • The combined G550 and G650 fleet gives Gulfstream the widest large-cabin charter availability of any manufacturer. The G650 fleet of 595-plus aircraft across 55 countries and the G550's 2,000-plus deliveries mean that same-day large-cabin Gulfstream availability from a UK airport is more reliably achievable than with any competing type. The G550 won the 2003 Collier Trophy for the PlaneView cockpit. Whether that heritage distinction matters to a given client is a personal question, but the fleet depth that comes with it is a practical advantage.
