Private jet charter in Antwerp

Under an hour in the air separates the London airfields from Antwerp, and the sector is the easy part of the job. The harder questions are a short runway, a city airport that closes at night and a second airfield, 45 km away at Brussels, that does what Antwerp cannot. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around those facts. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Antwerp is a working port city, home to diamond dealers, logistics executives and fashion buyers, and in July the road south to Boom fills with festival crowds. Its airport sits five kilometres from the centre, which is convenient and also the reason it is small, so the real choices are the size of the aircraft, the hour of the flight and whether the trip should land in Antwerp at all.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Antwerp depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Antwerp?

About 55 minutes from any of the four main London airfields in a light jet, an hour or so from Southampton and the Midlands, and around an hour and a half from Glasgow, with one hour of clock difference to remember on arrival because Belgium keeps Central European time. At 173 to 440 nautical miles this is a short corridor, and on the southern routes the distance hardly matters: the figures below include taxi, climb and approach, which make up most of the flight. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Leave a London airfield at eight in the morning and you are on the ground at Deurne a little before ten local time, because Belgium is an hour ahead of Britain. The airfield is about five kilometres from the centre of Antwerp, and the handler quotes ten to fifteen minutes by car, so a client who left a London office at half past seven can be at a desk near Central Station before the morning is out. Add the drive to the British airfield and the short processing at each end and the whole journey from central London to central Antwerp comes to roughly two and a half hours. Few European trips of this kind fit so easily into a morning.

Light jet or midsize: on this runway the airport has the first word

– Up to five or six people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer, and on a sector this short it is also the honest cheapest one, because the price sits close to a minimum charge and the empty seats cost nothing. Light jets are the airport's regular traffic, and a Citation CJ3+ or a Phenom 300E can normally use the 1,510 m of asphalt at Deurne;

– With a bigger party, formal luggage or a departure from the north, a midsize jet such as the Citation XLS+ also works at Antwerp. We run the landing and take-off performance for the date and the weight before we quote, because a short runway in wet weather leaves little margin and the operator, not the broker, decides what is acceptable;

– Super-midsize and large cabins are where the answer changes. One published listing calls them generally unsuitable for Deurne, so we plan them out of Brussels, which is about 45 km away and adds a car transfer of 40 to 50 minutes to the day.

Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all of them into Antwerp International at Deurne on light and midsize jets. A sector this short is billed close to a minimum charge, which is why several rows carry the same figure. Festival weekends and the Belgian Grand Prix sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Why the long legs start in Brussels

Deurne has a single asphalt runway of 1,510 m, and a heavy jet loaded for the 2,891 nautical miles to Dubai or the 3,307 to New York needs a good deal more than that. Brussels Airport, with a main runway of 3,638 m, does not have the problem. For a client who lives in Antwerp the practical answer is a car for 40 to 50 minutes to Zaventem, and for a client arriving from Britain on a light jet and continuing on a larger one it is a change of aircraft at Brussels, planned as one booking. The two bottom rows are therefore priced from Brussels, and nothing in either row is flown from Deurne.

Before you accept an onward quote from Antwerp

– Which airport the aircraft actually leaves from. A quote for a long-haul sector that says Antwerp for a Global or a Gulfstream is a quote that will change, and so is one that puts a large cabin on the Deurne apron;

– What time you are coming home. The airport typically runs from about half past six in the morning to eleven at night local time (hours confirmed on request) and is shut overnight, so an evening return from Nice or Palma that would land after the closing hour has to be planned into Brussels, and Brussels has night rules of its own. We ask for the landing time before we quote the flight;

– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Antwerp to Paris, then Zurich, then back costs less arranged as a single trip than as three, because the aircraft and crew stay with you and do not return to base between legs.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Turbopropsfrom £850/h
Small jet£1,700 - 2,500/h
Light jet£2,100 - 3,000/h

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Antwerp:

Light jets, and where most bookings land

At under an hour from London this is the natural class, and at Deurne it is also the comfortable one. Four or five passengers with ordinary luggage need nothing larger, and nothing here lacks the range for the sector.

HondaJet Elite · 5 seatsfrom £1,900/h
Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen2 · 8 seatsfrom £2,700/h

Midsize, for a bigger party or a northern departure

A larger cabin earns its place when the group is six or more, when the departure is from Scotland, or when the same aircraft carries on to Switzerland or the Riviera. The performance figures are checked for the Deurne runway before we quote.

Learjet 75 Liberty · 8 seatsfrom £3,000/h
Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h

Super-midsize and large, normally from Brussels

These cabins suit a delegation travelling as one party or a trip that goes on to the Gulf. Antwerp is not their airport, so they leave from Zaventem and the quote carries the car or the positioning flight.

Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h
Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,350/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h
Gulfstream G450 · 13 seatsfrom £5,800/h

Turboprops

Short fields are what turboprops are for. A Pilatus PC-12 is comfortably within the Deurne runway and is the sensible aircraft for Benelux hops of 150 nautical miles or less, where a jet is billed at its minimum anyway.

Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,650/h

Helicopters

Not for the flight from Britain but for the onward stretch: Antwerp to Brussels Airport, Rotterdam or the coast, and the last leg to a private site that has no runway. In Belgium the landing site is agreed before the quote, not after.

Airbus H125 · 5 seatson request
Airbus H130 · 6 seatson request
Airbus H135 · 6 seatson request
Bell 429 · 6 seatson request

online private jet directory

This is a small part of what is available. Antwerp sits between Brussels, Rotterdam and Ostend, all of which handle business aircraft, so there is usually a jet already within an hour of Deurne, and for a booking outside festival weeks that is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Antwerp

One airport is the answer for most trips, and four others matter for specific reasons. It helps to know them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.

Airport What it gives you
Antwerp International, Deurne
ANR / EBAW
The city airport, about 5 km from the centre and 2.9 nautical miles south-east of it by the official count. One asphalt runway, 11/29, of 1,510 m by 45 m, with an instrument landing system on runway 29 only. Business flights are handled by FLYINGGROUP (ASL Jet Handling), and handling is compulsory for arriving passengers and crew on the general aviation apron. Passenger customs and immigration are on site, and the airport typically runs from about half past six in the morning to eleven at night local time, with fuel available until an hour before closing. Light and midsize jets and turboprops are the regular traffic
Brussels Airport, Zaventem
BRU / EBBR
About 45 km from Antwerp by the E19, 40 to 50 minutes by car, and 12 km north-east of Brussels itself. Three runways, the longest 3,638 m, so it takes anything we send. A coordinated airport where slots are mandatory, with two general aviation handlers, ExecuJet Belgium and Aviapartner Executive. This is where super-midsize and heavy jets, long-haul departures and late arrivals go
Rotterdam The Hague
RTM / EHRD
The Dutch alternative, about 85 km north of Antwerp in a straight line and 5.5 km from the centre of Rotterdam. A 2,199 m runway and a Jet Aviation executive terminal with on-site customs and immigration, open round the clock with prior permission needed between 23:00 and 06:00. Useful when the trip is really to Rotterdam, or when a flight must leave after Deurne has closed
Ostend-Bruges
OST / EBOS
On the coast, about 5 km from Ostend and some 25 km from Bruges, with a single 3,200 m runway and a reputation for private business flights. About 110 km from Antwerp in a straight line, so it is a destination in its own right, for Bruges and the beaches, and not a substitute for Deurne
Liège
LGG / EBLG
About 9 km west of Liège, with runways of 3,690 m and 2,340 m. Its role here is motorsport: it is described as typically the most practical airport for the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, which lies about half an hour from Liège. About 90 km from Antwerp in a straight line

Four points settle most Antwerp arrivals:

Choose the handler

At Deurne the Belgian aeronautical information publication names ASL Jet Handling, part of FLYINGGROUP, as the handler for general aviation and business flights, and handling is compulsory for arriving passengers and crew parked on the general aviation apron. The terminal has a VIP lounge, a crew lounge and a meeting space. At Brussels the choice is between ExecuJet Belgium and Aviapartner Executive, and we ask the operator which it prefers.

Hours, runway and noise

Deurne typically opens at about half past six and closes at about eleven at night local time, and fuel stops an hour before closing; we confirm the hours for your date. The runway is 1,510 m, and only runway 29 has an instrument landing system. Aircraft must hold an ICAO Annex 16 noise certificate, and a wingspan above 29 m is restricted to certain taxiways and the main apron. After hours, the airport is occasionally opened by arrangement.

Border and passport

Belgium is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border at the airport, and at Deurne passenger customs and immigration keep the same hours as the airport. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years ago and valid for three months beyond departure. A first-time visitor may be asked for a photograph and fingerprints.

Car and late nights

Give us the handler as well as the flight, because a driver told only the airport name may wait at the wrong door. The city is 10 to 15 minutes from the airfield, so a late dinner followed by an eleven o'clock departure sounds feasible and is not, because the airport typically closes at about eleven. If the evening may run on, we plan the departure from Brussels from the start.

business aviation

Border, passport and the Brussels fallback

Brussels is the exception to the rule that the closest airport wins. If the aircraft is too big for Deurne, if the arrival is after eleven or if an animal has to be presented to customs, land at Zaventem: the formalities are done there, and the motorway to Antwerp afterwards is inside the Schengen area with no border control.

From the apron to the old town

Antwerp is a city you reach in a quarter of an hour from Deurne and then mostly walk. The cathedral, the old town and the diamond district beside Central Station sit within a short distance of each other, and the distances that matter run outward, to the port, to Brussels and to the festival fields at Boom.

Flying to Antwerp with a dog or a cat

Belgium asks for little more than any other EU state, and a short flight suits most animals. The dog or cat sits in the cabin with you, with no hold involved. The detail that matters is the date on the certificate, which is good for entry into the EU for only ten days after the day it is issued.

private flight with animals

What Belgium and the British rules ask for:

  • An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination and not after it;
  • A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 full days elapsed before travel;
  • An Animal Health Certificate from your vet, valid for ten days for entry into the EU and for six months for onward travel and for the return to Great Britain, and a new one for each trip. Belgium's food safety agency also refers to a certificate issued within ten days before departure;
  • Presentation to customs at a travellers' point of entry on arrival, which our handler arranges;
  • No more than five animals per traveller, since a larger number counts as a commercial movement;
  • For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours before the return flight to Britain, recorded with the product, the date and the time. Cats are exempt.

What catches owners out on the Antwerp run

– Belgium asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, only before the way home, so it is a vet appointment in Belgium towards the end of the stay. A short trip makes the window tight, because the treatment must be at least a day old and no more than five days old at landing in Britain;

– A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU from England, Scotland or Wales, so the certificate must be a fresh one for each trip;

– Whether the customs desk at Deurne can look at an animal on the day is something we confirm with the handler before the quote. If it cannot, the flight lands at Brussels.

Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Antwerp calendar: steady business and a few loud weekends

Antwerp is a city that works through the week and fills for a few events: a cycling classic in spring, fashion in June, a very large festival in July and Pride in August. Between them the base is business, and that business does not follow the calendar. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.

Year round
Diamonds and the port: weekday business trips tied to the diamond district beside Central Station, with its four trading exchanges, and to a port that ranks second in Europe after Rotterdam. This is the steady base load, and most of it goes out and back within the day
Early April
The Tour of Flanders: the cycling classic is run in early April, starts in Antwerp in some editions and finishes in Oudenaarde. Hotels fill in the host cities, but for private flights treat it as a small bump and not a peak
June
Fashion: the Royal Academy of Fine Arts stages its annual fashion show and the graduate presentations in June, and the city's fashion crowd arrives for them
Last two weekends of July
Tomorrowland: the electronic music festival is held at De Schorre park in Boom, some 15 km south of the city, with a capacity of 200,000 a weekend. Hotels, cars and the small apron at Deurne are all under pressure, so book weeks ahead and expect the pricing to move
Summer
The Belgian Grand Prix: it takes place at Spa-Francorchamps in the Ardennes, not at Antwerp, and the circuit is about half an hour from Liège, which is the airport to ask about. Brussels has night rules of its own on race weekends, which can affect a late departure
August
Antwerp Pride: the city's Pride festival is held in August and brings a weekend of visitors
December and January
Winter in Antwerp: the city's winter festival runs from December into January, a season of weekend breaks and small parties

Why a festival week costs more

Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Antwerp is well placed in it. What gets tight is the small apron at Deurne, the cars and the hotels, all in the same week. A booking made ten days before Tomorrowland can still be done, but it pays more, and it may mean an aircraft brought in empty from Brussels, Rotterdam or Britain. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weekends Antwerp is one of the easiest cities to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.

Ways to bring the Antwerp price down

  • Keep the aircraft small. A light jet is the cheapest honest quote on this sector and it fits the runway, and the saving over a midsize cabin buys the car and the hotel;
  • Ask where the aircraft sleeps. A jet based at Antwerp, Brussels or Rotterdam needs far less positioning than one from Britain, and on a corridor this short the positioning leg is a large share of the bill;
  • Fill the seats. Because the price is near a minimum charge, a sixth passenger costs nothing extra, and a day trip with a colleague or two splits the figure;
  • Avoid the festival weekends and the Pride weekend if the dates can move, and book the return as part of the same trip rather than as a separate charter.

Types of flights

Antwerp produces a different mix from a holiday destination, because it is a trading city: diamonds, a very large port and fashion, with Brussels and its institutions next door.

  • Diamond and jewellery trade trips, short, fixed to the working day and flown out and back from London, usually with one or two passengers;
  • Port, logistics and industrial visits, tied to the port area about 10 km from the airport, where timing is fixed and the quickest transfer is what matters;
  • Fashion and design trips around the Royal Academy's shows in June and the museum calendar;
  • Festival groups for Tomorrowland in July, who want a flight in, a villa or hotel near Boom and a Monday morning return;
  • Brussels business that lands at Antwerp when Zaventem is inconvenient, and Antwerp business that lands at Brussels when the aircraft is too big;
  • Weekend city breaks to the cathedral and the museums, and onward Benelux hops to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Ghent and Bruges.

The day trip is the one worth a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you at Deurne rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Leaving at eight and returning in the early evening gives you a full working day in Antwerp and your own bed that night, and the corridor is so short that the airport's closing hour never comes into it. We quote the day trip both ways so that the difference is visible.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Antwerp has resident operators, and one of them, FLYINGGROUP, lists a fleet of more than 40 aircraft at the airport, so the supply here comes from based aircraft going out and coming home as much as from visitors.

Where Antwerp empty legs come from

– Based aircraft. A jet that flies a charter out of Antwerp has to return, and the return leg is the one offered, often on a short European sector with a modest price;

– Festival and Grand Prix weekends. Aircraft bring parties to Antwerp, Brussels and Liège for the weekend and go home empty on the Monday, and those legs appear in the days that follow;

– Positioning hops. Aircraft that bring a party to Brussels or Rotterdam often move empty to Antwerp to pick up the next job, and the short Benelux legs between them can be cheap.

Because Antwerp is a small corridor, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag an Antwerp match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter

In Antwerp a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip, not the middle. The old town is small enough to cross by car, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the run to Brussels Airport, the Dutch and coastal airfields and a private site with no road worth the name.

Before you plan around a helicopter

– A helicopter in Belgium cannot land wherever it likes. Helistrips and heliports require clearance from the responsible authority before arrival, hospital helipads are reserved for air ambulance and rescue flights, and aerodromes or heliports outside the official publication are for private flights with the owner's permission. A hotel garden or a private estate therefore needs its status confirmed before we quote, not after;

– Weather sets the schedule. Low cloud and fog can hold a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a time-critical transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;

– Book the helicopter together with the jet, so that both crews work to one timetable and a delay on one side does not strand the other.

The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for light work, the wider H130 for scenic and estate transfers, and the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted.

Antwerp charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK

A morning at the port and home for dinner

Biggin Hill - Antwerp and return, Citation CJ3+, about 55 min each way · 4 pax

Wheels up at eight, on the ground at Deurne a little before ten local time, at the port by eleven and back at Biggin Hill in time for a late supper. The aircraft and crew waited at the airport rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. The corridor is short enough that the airport's closing hour never came into it.

DIAMOND DISTRICT · TWO PASSENGERS

A same-day buying trip with a fixed appointment

London Luton - Antwerp and return, Phenom 300E, about 55 min each way · 2 pax

Two people, one small bag each and an appointment near Central Station at noon. The handler arranged the passport check in advance, a car waited at the aircraft door, and the whole visit was timed backwards from the closing hour at Deurne so that the return left with an hour in hand.

FESTIVAL · A MONDAY RETURN

Eight friends and a house near Boom

Farnborough - Antwerp, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 00 min · 8 pax

A July weekend built around the festival. The party outgrew a light jet on luggage alone, and the quote moved up a class for that reason and not for the seats. The booking went in seven weeks ahead, because hotels, cars and the apron fill early that week, and the return left on the Monday morning.

MOTORSPORT · THE OTHER AIRPORT WON

A group for the Belgian Grand Prix

London City - Liège, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 00 min · 6 pax

They asked for Brussels because it is the capital and the name everyone knows. The circuit is at Spa-Francorchamps, about half an hour from Liège, so the aircraft went to Liège instead, a few minutes more in the air and a much shorter road. The only cost was asking where the circuit was before we quoted.

PETS · A DOG ON BOARD

Four adults and a spaniel for a long weekend

Southampton - Antwerp, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 00 min · 4 pax + dog

The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Belgium for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, confirmed with the handler that the animal could be presented at the airport, and settled the whole thing in a single exchange of messages.

EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING WEST

A jet already going your way

Antwerp - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 55 min · 3 pax

The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Antwerp

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Antwerp?

About 55 minutes from Biggin Hill, London City, Luton or Farnborough in a light jet, covering roughly 173 to 205 nautical miles. From Birmingham allow about 1 h 05 min, from Manchester or Bristol about 1 h 10 min, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 1 h 30 min. Belgium is one hour ahead of Britain, so an eight o'clock departure lands shortly before ten local time.

2How much does a private jet to Antwerp cost?

From about £5,300 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill or London City, and £5,700 from Luton or Farnborough. A midsize cabin from the north runs to £6,800 from Birmingham, and from Scotland allow £8,150 to £8,500. Tomorrowland weekends and the Belgian Grand Prix price above these figures.

3Which airport should a private jet use for Antwerp?

Antwerp International at Deurne (ANR / EBAW) for most trips. It is about 5 km from the centre, has customs and immigration on site and is handled by FLYINGGROUP, but it has a 1,510 m runway and typically closes at about eleven at night local time. Brussels Airport (BRU / EBBR), about 45 km away, takes large jets and later arrivals, and Rotterdam The Hague is a Dutch alternative.

4Can a large jet land at Antwerp?

Generally not. The airport has one asphalt runway of 1,510 m, and light jets, midsize jets and turboprops are its regular traffic, while super-midsize and heavy jets are normally flown out of Brussels. We check the landing performance for your date and weight before we quote.

5When should I book a private jet to Antwerp?

Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For Tomorrowland in the last two weekends of July, and for the Belgian Grand Prix, allow five to six weeks, because hotels, cars and the small apron at Deurne all fill in the same days and a late booking tends to pay for an aircraft positioned from elsewhere.

6Can I take my dog to Antwerp on a private jet?

Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and you need a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days after issue for entry into the EU. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
