Private jet charter in Lisbon
The clock does not move when a jet leaves Britain for Lisbon, so a breakfast departure from a London field puts you on the Tagus in time for a late-morning meeting, and what shapes the trip is the airfield you pick on arrival: the capital's main airport, or a small municipal strip on the Cascais side that few clients have heard of. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around whichever of those it is. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Lisbon Humberto Delgado has one 3,707 m runway, a customs desk that never closes and a ban on movements between midnight and 06:00 that admits only a limited number of exceptions, so the decisions that count are the hour of departure, the cabin size and whether the small airfield at Cascais does the job better.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Lisbon depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Farnborough, an Embraer Phenom 300E and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Lisbon?
Two and a half hours is the working figure from the London fields, and the clock stays where it is, because mainland Portugal keeps the same time as Britain all year, summer saving included. At 827 to 1,098 nautical miles the sector sits in the middle of the short-haul range: well within a light jet, long enough that a midsize cabin starts to earn its price. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, with no time difference to absorb
Leave a London airfield at eight in the morning and you touch down at Lisbon around half past ten by the same clock, with the whole day still ahead. The airport lies about 7 km north of the São Jorge castle, so the centre is a short drive, and the transfer from the aircraft to the car is quick when the handler has the passport check arranged. Allow for the drive to the British field and the processing at both ends and the journey from central London to central Lisbon comes to roughly five hours, which leaves the afternoon free.
Light jet or midsize: the question that actually comes up on this route
– Three or four people with ordinary bags are well served by a light jet, and the saving over a midsize cabin is real. Two and a half hours in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is comfortable;
– Golf bags, a week of luggage for a family, a pushchair or a dog are what tip the quote towards a midsize jet. Clubs take hold space faster than they take seats, and the hold is the figure that settles the choice, not the seat count;
– Heavy aircraft make sense for large parties, for a jet that stays with you across several Iberian stops, or for a trip in which Lisbon is only the first leg of something longer, such as Madeira or the Atlantic islands.

Private jet flights from Lisbon
Lisbon is a good base for the western corner of Europe. Porto, Faro and Seville are short enough for a turboprop, Madrid is one jet hour, and the Atlantic opens out beyond it: Madeira to the south-west, and Nice or Paris Le Bourget for a longer trip back into the continent. Typical one-way prices:

Portugal from the air: when a turboprop beats the motorway
Porto is 156 nautical miles from Lisbon and Faro 124, so a Pilatus PC-12 covers either in under an hour, and Lisbon, Porto and Faro are all airports of entry with customs. Faro and Porto are also the two alternates that an operator handling guide names for Lisbon, listed as open from 06:00 to 23:59 with no overtime, which is worth remembering for a late arrival. Seville at 181 nautical miles is a day trip to Andalusia that avoids the drive across the Spanish border, and Madeira at 542 nautical miles is the sector that appears when a Lisbon trip is extended out over the Atlantic. Inside Portugal the small jet or turboprop is the right tool, and the saving over a midsize aircraft on a sector this short is large.
Before you accept a Portuguese onward quote
– Check which airport the quote actually names. A line that says only Lisbon may mean the main airport or Cascais, and the two have different hours, different customs arrangements and different handlers, so the figure will move once the field is chosen;
– Check whether the legs are one booking. A Lisbon, Porto and Faro loop over three days costs less as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Lisbon:
Light jets, and the aircraft for Cascais
At two and a half hours this is a comfortable sit for three or four people with modest luggage. Cascais is the other reason to start here: its 1,400 m runway is a light-jet field in practice, and a Phenom or a CJ-series Citation is the sort of aircraft that fits it.
Midsize, for golf bags and family luggage
A golf week, a family with a fortnight of baggage or a team carrying presentation kit is what pushes a party past the light-jet hold. These are aircraft we would normally route to the main airport.
Super-midsize and large
For a delegation travelling as one party, for a team that works in the air, and for trips that carry on from Lisbon to Madeira, North Africa or the Gulf rather than turning round. The 3,707 m runway at Humberto Delgado takes all of them.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the domestic hops: Porto and Faro are under an hour in the air, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: Cascais and Sintra from the airport, a quinta or a beach house with no runway, and the Tagus estuary from above. The landing site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Lisbon sits at the far western edge of the European fleet, so an aircraft is not always standing by in the city itself, and one positioned from Madrid, Porto or Faro is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Lisbon
Two airports matter, and they are not interchangeable. The rest of the names that turn up in a quote are either diversions, a helicopter option or no airport at all.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Lisbon Humberto Delgado LIS / LPPT |
The answer for most trips and the only choice for anything larger than a light jet. A single runway, 02/20, of 3,707 by 45 metres, with a fire category of 9 and Jet A-1 on tap. The aerodrome, customs, immigration, handling and fuelling are all listed as available round the clock, and the airport is about 7 km from the São Jorge castle. Slots are required, there is no de-icing, and the published rules list no hangar space for visiting aircraft and limit how long a visitor may stay on the apron unless airport management approves, so a long wait on the ground is agreed in advance |
| Cascais (Tires) Municipal Aerodrome CAT / LPCS |
A small field in the parish of São Domingos de Rana, about 12 km north-east of Cascais town and about five minutes from Lisbon by air. One asphalt runway, 17/35, of 1,400 by 30 metres, which makes it a light-jet and small-midsize airfield in practice. Jet A-1 and Avgas are sold, handling is mandatory for visiting aircraft, and there is no hangar and no de-icing. Hours are shorter than at Lisbon and customs works only on prior request, which suits a weekend in Cascais and nothing larger |
| Montijo LPMT |
Across the Tagus, south-east of the city. It appears in some operators' lists as an option for helicopters or when road access in Lisbon is difficult. It is not an airport we plan jet charters around, and we confirm the status and the permission before it is used for anything |
| Faro and Porto FAO / LPFR, OPO / LPPR |
The two diversion airports, each under an hour from Lisbon by turboprop and listed as open from 06:00 to 23:59 with no overtime. They matter if the weather or a night restriction closes Lisbon to a late arrival, and they are airports in their own right if the trip is really to the Algarve or the north |
| Sintra, Comporta and Estoril no airport we use |
The places most clients actually want are reached from Lisbon or Cascais by road or by helicopter. We have not found a jet airport of their own that we would plan around, so a quote that lists one of them as an airport is a quote to query |
Four points settle most Lisbon arrivals:
Choose the handler
One business aviation handler at Humberto Delgado is the ExecuJet FBO in Hangar 6 on Apron 700, listed with a lounge open round the clock, a crew lounge, a meeting room and catering and aircraft cleaning among its listed services. The FBO desk runs from 07:00 to 23:00 and later on request. Sky Valet is the other handler name that comes up in Lisbon, and it appears among the agents listed for Cascais. We ask the operator for its preference and confirm the handler in writing before you pay.
Hours, slots and noise
Lisbon's services run round the clock, but landings and take-offs are prohibited by law between midnight and 06:00 except under an exception regime. The night limits apply to civil subsonic jets of 34,000 kg or more, or with more than 19 passenger seats, with a cap of 26 movements a day and 91 a week. Whether a lighter jet is caught by the same rule is something we confirm with the airport for each movement. Slots are required, and for any late movement we confirm the permission in writing first.
Border and passport
Portugal is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you pass passport control and customs at the first landing. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport under ten years old and valid three months beyond the day they leave. A charter from Britain also needs Portuguese permission, which the handler files, typically three working days ahead.
Car and late nights
Give us the handler as well as the flight, because a driver told only airport may wait at the wrong door. For Web Summit week and the June festivals, put the late car and the crew into the quote from the start, and if the departure falls after midnight ask us first whether it is allowed at all.

Cascais or Lisbon: which airfield for which trip
It depends on where you are sleeping. Humberto Delgado is the safer default and the only option for a heavy aircraft. Cascais is the better field when the party is small, the jet is light, the destination is Cascais, Estoril or Sintra, and the arrival falls inside the opening hours.
What the Cascais runway actually allows
– The published runway is 1,400 by 30 metres, and runway 17 has its threshold displaced by 190 m, which leaves a landing distance of 1,210 m in that direction against 1,400 m on runway 35. The aerodrome information lists no weight or jet restriction, but a short strip with a displaced threshold is a question of performance at the planned weight, and we check it before we offer the airfield;
– Departures from runway 35 are flown visually because of obstacles, the terrain around Sintra and a restricted area, which means that low cloud or poor visibility can hold a departure even when the sky over Lisbon is clear;
– The aerodrome opens at 08:00 local and closes at sunset, and movements between 07:00 and 08:00 or after sunset until midnight need prior permission. It is closed from midnight to 07:00. Customs and immigration are available only by prior request.

Border, passport and the way home
Britain is outside Schengen, so the first landing in Portugal is where the formalities happen, normally inside the terminal at Humberto Delgado. If the aircraft goes to Cascais instead, the same checks are arranged there on prior request, not on the day. The handler files the customs declaration and the passenger and crew details before arrival, and passports have to be in date and carried by every passenger. The flight home runs the other way: Britain treats the aircraft as arriving from abroad, so a General Aviation Report is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, and passengers pass the border at the British field. Visitors who need no visa for Britain still need an Electronic Travel Authorisation unless they are British or Irish citizens. We file the paperwork; you bring the passports.
From the apron to the Atlantic coast
Lisbon sits on the north bank of the Tagus estuary and the coast road runs west from it to Estoril and Cascais, with Sintra in the hills behind. The places that matter are all within an hour of one of the two airfields, except Comporta, which lies across the river and needs rather longer.
the airport lies about 7 km north of the São Jorge castle in the old centre, which is why the main airport carries nearly all the jet trafficabout 7 km

Flying to Lisbon with a dog or a cat
Portugal asks for paperwork that has to be exact, and the flight itself is the easy part: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and a sector of two and a half hours is one most dogs sleep through. The detail that catches people is that the animal is inspected by a vet at the point of entry and the airport wants to hear about it beforehand.

What Portugal asks for, as an EU country:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination. The Portuguese leaflet says the vaccine must not be given before the chip has been applied or read;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, valid only once 21 days have passed since the first course was completed;
- An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, valid for ten days for entry to the EU and for the return to Britain as stated on the certificate. A pet passport issued in England, Scotland or Wales cannot be used to enter the EU;
- Written notice to the Traveller Entry Point where the animal arrives, which DGAV guidance has put at no less than 48 hours before landing, and we confirm the current period for your dates. At Lisbon airport a live animal import is also something the airport lists as needing prior permission;
- No more than five animals per traveller, and a puppy or kitten under 12 weeks is not admitted;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before the return flight to Britain, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Lisbon run
– Portugal asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, only Britain asks for it on the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Lisbon or Cascais towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and an early Monday flight may need a visit before the weekend closes the clinics;
– The notice to the entry point and the airport permission are two separate things, and both are easier to arrange from Britain than from the apron. We send them with the booking so that a vet is expecting the animal when it lands;
– A golf week or a weekend in Cascais with a dog is an ordinary booking. Settle the hotel and any onward helicopter before the quote, because each one has to accept the animal separately.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the flight home, we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
The Lisbon calendar: a capital that fills up in June and November
Lisbon has two peaks that overwhelm everything else: the street festivals of June and the technology conference of November. In between there are music weekends on the coast, a long and gentle summer and a winter that suits golf. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why Web Summit week costs more
The aircraft are not the scarce item. Lisbon has one runway, slots at the main airport, a limited apron and a short list of good rooms and cars, and during the Web Summit days all of them are wanted by the same people. A booking made a fortnight before can still be done, but it pays more, and the aircraft may be flown over from Madrid or Porto to meet it. The same trip arranged five or six weeks ahead is simpler and cheaper. Away from those dates Lisbon is one of the easier capitals to charter into, often in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Lisbon price down
- Shift the dates by a few days if the diary allows. The week after the Santos Populares weekend is calmer, and so is the second half of November once Web Summit has left;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits in Porto, Faro or Madrid costs less to bring over than one flown out from Britain, and on a sector of this length the positioning is a visible slice of the invoice;
- Take the light jet only when the party and the bags are small. Three people with cabin bags save real money in a CJ3+; six people with golf bags do not, and the quote that looks cheap on paper is often the one that changes.
Types of flights
Lisbon produces a different mix from the Alpine or the Italian destinations we cover, because the city is a technology and business capital in the working week and a resort gateway at the weekend.
- Conference and delegation travel, with Web Summit the largest single draw, where dates are fixed and arrival formalities are the main concern;
- Golf and coastal weekends around Cascais and Estoril, often flown into the small Cascais airfield by a party of four or fewer;
- Sintra and Cascais excursions, usually combined with a night or two in a quinta or a palace hotel;
- Comporta and Alentejo coast weekends, which start with a flight to Lisbon and a long drive or a helicopter hop south;
- Onward trips to Madeira, Porto and the Algarve, often a leg tacked on to a Lisbon stay;
- Day trips from London, which at two and a half hours each way are a long day but a workable one.
Lisbon works as a day trip because the clock does not change. Wheels up at seven, on the ground before ten and off again at six in the evening gives you about seven hours in the city and puts you back in Britain by half past eight. The crew waits at the FBO or at the small field in Cascais, and that waiting time is charged, yet the total is usually below two one-way charters. We price the route both ways so you can compare.
Empty Legs
Some jets reach Lisbon with a party and leave without one, moving on to their next job, and the operator will sell that leg cheaply rather than fly it for nothing. That is an empty leg. On the Lisbon route the supply follows the event calendar more than the working week.
Where Lisbon empty legs come from
– Web Summit and conference weeks. Delegations arrive on charters from across Europe and the aircraft leave empty a day or two later, producing outbound legs towards London, Madrid and Paris in the days after;
– Festival and golf weekends. Parties arrive on the Friday and the aircraft heads home empty on the same evening or the Saturday, which produces a leg most often offered on the Sunday evening back to the London fields;
– Iberian rotation. Operators positioning between Porto, Faro, Seville and Madrid put short domestic legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
Because the corridor to the far west of Europe is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Lisbon match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Lisbon a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The old quarters are tight, steep and best crossed on foot or by tram, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the coast to Cascais, the hills of Sintra and the long drive south to the Alentejo.

against about 45 minutes by road to Cascais; the figure operators quote for the coastal transfers15 to 30 minutes
Belém, the river mouth and the Cascais coastline from the air, arranged as a short scenic flighton request
Before you plan around a helicopter
– The Lisbon control zone is busy and regulated. A helicopter must contact Lisboa Tower before take-off inside the zone, and low-altitude VFR flights over the city need prior authorisation and a minimum height of 1,500 feet, so a scenic loop is planned as a permission and not just a booking;
– A landing away from an airfield needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent. A hotel lawn, a quinta or a beach house has its status checked before we write the quote, and Cascais has its own helipad where flights can be arranged;
– Atlantic weather sets the schedule. Fog and low cloud on the coast can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day. For Web Summit week and the June festivals, book the helicopter together with the jet.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for coastal and hill work, the wider H130 for scenic and villa transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Lisbon charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A working day in Lisbon and home for the late evening
Biggin Hill - Lisbon and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 30 min each way · 4 pax
Four people left a London field at seven, landed in Portugal before ten by the same clock and went straight into a day of meetings in the centre. The aircraft waited at the FBO with its crew, and that wait was a line in the quote, but the total was still lower than two separate one-way charters. Away from the city at six and back in Britain by half past eight. A long day that does the job.
CONFERENCE WEEK · FIXED DATES
A team for the November technology week
London Luton - Lisbon, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 25 min · 8 pax
The dates were set by the conference and not by the client. Eight people, laptops, stand materials and a request for a car at the aircraft door. The booking went in six weeks ahead, the handler had the passport check arranged, and the aircraft left Luton on time with nothing to explain.
GOLF WEEKEND · THE SMALL FIELD WON
Four friends and four sets of clubs
Farnborough - Cascais, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 15 min · 4 pax
They had asked for Lisbon because it is the name everyone knows. The hotel was near Cascais, so we priced the municipal airfield instead: customs arranged in advance, handling mandatory, and the car to the hotel about fifteen minutes rather than forty-five. The only cost was checking the runway length against the weight before quoting.
COMPORTA · A LONG WEEKEND SOUTH
Two couples and a house by the beach
London City - Lisbon, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 30 min · 4 pax
They flew to Lisbon and not to somewhere nearer the coast because there is no jet airport at Comporta that we would plan around. The drive south takes about an hour and twenty minutes, and the helicopter option was priced beside it. They chose the car and put the saving into the hotel.
A DOG ON BOARD · AUTUMN CITY BREAK
Three adults and a retriever
Southampton - Lisbon, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 15 min · 3 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, the notice to the entry point went out two days before, and the vet appointment in Lisbon for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked all of it with the aircraft, and it was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING NORTH
A jet already going your way
Lisbon - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h 20 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Lisbon
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Lisbon?
About 2 hours 30 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, and around 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes from Farnborough or Luton in a Phenom, covering roughly 862 to 902 nautical miles. From Birmingham or Manchester allow 2 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes in a midsize cabin, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 45 minutes. Lisbon keeps the same time as Britain, so there is no clock change to allow for on arrival.
2How much does a private jet to Lisbon cost?
From about £11,800 one way on a Phenom out of Farnborough, and £12,000 from Biggin Hill or £12,100 from London City on a CJ3+. A midsize cabin costs £14,200 from Southampton and £15,300 from Birmingham, and from Scotland allow £22,100 to £22,300. Web Summit week, the June festivals and the summer festival weekends price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Lisbon?
Lisbon Humberto Delgado (LIS / LPPT) for most trips and for anything bigger than a light jet. It has a single 3,707 m runway, handlers with their own lounges and customs and immigration listed as available round the clock, though landings and take-offs are prohibited between midnight and 06:00 except under a limited exception regime. Cascais (CAT / LPCS) has a 1,400 m runway and suits light jets to a Cascais, Estoril or Sintra weekend, with customs only on prior request.
4When should I book a private jet to Lisbon?
Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For Web Summit in the first half of November and the Santos Populares festivals around 12 and 13 June, allow four to six weeks. Slots, rooms and cars all get tight in the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from another city.
5Can I fly on from Lisbon to Cascais, Sintra or Comporta?
From the small Cascais airfield, central Lisbon and Sintra are each 20 to 30 minutes by car. From central Lisbon, Cascais is about 45 minutes by road, or 15 to 30 minutes to Cascais or Sintra by helicopter. Comporta has no jet airport we would use and lies about 120 km south, roughly 1 h 20 min by road. Porto is 156 nautical miles from Lisbon and Faro 124, each under an hour in a Pilatus PC-12.
6Can I take my dog to Lisbon on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and Portugal, as an EU country, asks for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry, with written notice to the entry point beforehand. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
