Private jet charter in Cairo

A jet that leaves a London airfield at breakfast time is over the Nile delta by lunch, and the part of a Cairo charter that needs thought is everything around the flight: a permit, a visa and a choice between two airports on different sides of the city. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around whichever of those is the hard part. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Cairo is a long sector and a paperwork-heavy one. One airport takes almost every private arrival, a second on the Giza side suits exactly one kind of trip, and at close to 2,000 nautical miles the distance settles the choice of aircraft before budget does.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Cairo depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Praetor 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Cairo?

Four hours fifty from Biggin Hill in a Praetor 600, five and a half from Glasgow, and a clock that runs two hours ahead of Britain for most of the year. At 1,963 to 2,249 nautical miles this is the sector where aircraft class stops being a question of budget: light jets generally need a fuel stop, and the cabins we quote start at super-midsize. The table gives the flight from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you land at Cairo International a little before two in the afternoon, local time. Egypt keeps daylight saving, but on dates that differ from Britain's, so the gap is two hours for most of the year and one hour for a few weeks around the spring change. The airport lies in Heliopolis, north-east of the centre and roughly 15 to 25 km from the middle of town depending on the district, and the drive is the one part of the day that no schedule controls: plan for Cairo traffic rather than for the map. A client who leaves home at half past six in the morning can be at a Cairo dinner the same evening, with the aircraft timed to the meeting and not the other way round.

Where the aircraft class is decided on this sector

– Light jets are the exception. Most need a fuel stop for nearly 2,000 nautical miles, which adds roughly an hour and a landing somewhere in southern Europe, so we quote one only for two or three people with hand luggage who accept the stop;

– A midsize jet can cover the distance on paper, but headwinds, a diversion allowance and a full cabin eat the margin. We quote it for light loads and put a super-midsize figure beside it;

– The Embraer Praetor 600 and the Bombardier Challenger 350 are the working answer: eight passengers, a proper hold and range to spare. Heavy aircraft make sense for a delegation that travels as one party, or when Cairo is the first stop of a longer trip into the Gulf or Africa.

Prices for the private jet flights to Cairo

Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all of them nonstop into Cairo International. Winter-sun weeks, the Eid holidays and the book fair sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when. London City is left out on purpose: its short runway is an awkward start for a sector of this length.

Cairo is a better base for a regional loop than most clients expect. The Red Sea resorts and the Nile cities are an hour or so away by air, Cyprus and Athens are short hops across the eastern Mediterranean, and Istanbul and the Gulf are the ordinary business sectors. Typical one-way prices:

Egypt from the air: what a turboprop changes

Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Luxor lie 211 to 287 nautical miles from Cairo, so a Pilatus PC-12 reaches any of them in roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half. The Nile valley and the Red Sea coast are long days by road and short hops in the air, which is why most Egyptian itineraries that start in Cairo end up on a turboprop. One rule decides how these legs are booked: domestic sectors inside Egypt are normally reserved for Egyptian-licensed operators, so the aircraft that brought you from London will usually not be the one that takes you on to Luxor. We arrange the domestic leg with a local operator, quote it separately and confirm the position for your aircraft before you commit.

Before you accept an Egyptian onward quote

– Which airport, and until what hour. Sphinx International, the airport on the Giza side, is listed as open from sunrise to sunset, so an evening departure from it is not available however good the aircraft;

– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Cairo, Luxor and Hurghada over a week cost noticeably less arranged together, with the long sectors on one crew and the domestic legs set up with the operator who flies them, than as separate one-way jobs.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Turbopropsfrom £850/h
Small jet£1,700 - 2,500/h
Light jet£2,100 - 3,000/h
Medium-sized jet (Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP)£3,000 - 3,700/h
Large medium-class jet (Challenger 300)£4,600 - 5,500/h
Large jet (Legacy 600)£4,900 - 5,800/h
Long-haul jet (Global 5000, G550, Falcon 7X)£5,800 - 8,800/h

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Cairo:

Super-midsize, where most Cairo bookings land

Eight passengers, a proper hold and range for the whole sector without a stop. Across nearly five hours it is the cabin that makes the arrival feel like the start of the trip and not the end of a journey.

Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h
Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h
Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,350/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h

Midsize, for lighter loads and the shorter sectors

Realistic from Britain only with a light party and a kind wind. On Athens, Istanbul and the Mediterranean sectors these are exactly the right size.

Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Learjet 75 Liberty · 8 seatsfrom £3,000/h

Large and long-range

For a delegation travelling as one party, for a team that needs to work in the air, and for trips that carry on from Cairo to the Gulf or East Africa without turning round.

Embraer Legacy 650 · 13 seatsfrom £4,600/h
Dassault Falcon 900LX · 12 seatsfrom £5,400/h
Gulfstream G450 · 13 seatsfrom £5,800/h
Bombardier Global 6000 · 13 seatsfrom £6,400/h

Light jets and turboprops

Not for the flight from Britain, which most of them cannot make without a stop, but the right size for Larnaca, Athens and the short hops to the Red Sea and the Nile.

Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,650/h

Helicopters

Not for the flight from Britain but for the edges of a trip: a sightseeing loop over the Giza plateau and the Nile, or a transfer to a site. In Egypt the landing site and the permission come first, so both are agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. For the long sector from Britain the suitable aircraft are mostly based in London, the Gulf or the central Mediterranean, and one already sitting in Athens, Larnaca, Istanbul or Dubai can save a repositioning leg on the way in or out. That is the first thing we ask the operators about before a figure goes into a quote.

Business aviation airports in Cairo

Two airports matter for a charter into Cairo, and they do different jobs. Everything else on the list below is somewhere you fly on to, and it helps to know the difference before a quote arrives with one of them in it.

Airport What it gives you
Cairo International, Heliopolis
CAI / HECA
The answer for almost every trip. It lies north-east of the centre, roughly 15 to 25 km from the middle of Cairo depending on the district, and it is open round the clock, with three runways of 3,300 m, 4,000 m and 4,000 m. Slots are required and handling is compulsory. Two FBOs are on record at Terminal 1, Aviary and Nile Valley Aviation, and Smart Aviation FBO, run with Executive Sky Flight Support, is another provider. Customs and immigration are on site
Sphinx International, Giza
SPX / HESX
The airport on the Giza side, about 46 km north-west of the city by one airport listing and beside the Cairo West runways. It has a single runway of 3,650 m, customs on its record and no slot requirement, but it is listed as open from sunrise to sunset only. Scheduled airlines use it too, so we confirm the general aviation arrangements and the handler for your date. Worth choosing when the first stop is the pyramids or the Grand Egyptian Museum and the departure can also be made in daylight
El Alamein International
DBB / HEAL
The airport for the Mediterranean coast, 166 nautical miles from Cairo by air and a natural stop for a client who wants the north coast and not the capital. It is arranged as part of a planned itinerary and not as an alternative to Cairo
Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh and Marsa Alam
HRG / HEGN, SSH / HESH, RMF / HEMA
The Red Sea airports, between 211 and 335 nautical miles from Cairo. Winter-sun destinations, flown as a continuation of a Cairo stop or booked direct from Britain by an aircraft with the range
Luxor and Aswan
LXR / HELX, ASW / HESN
The Nile valley, 287 and 392 nautical miles from Cairo. The airports for the temples, the river cruises and the south, and the usual first leg of an itinerary that begins in Cairo and moves upriver

Four points settle most Cairo arrivals:

Choose the airport

Ask where the first meeting is. If it is the plateau or the museum, Sphinx International saves a crossing of the city, provided the day is planned around daylight. If it is Heliopolis, New Cairo or the business districts, or if the aircraft will leave in the evening, it is Cairo International. We put the choice to the client before the quote, not after it.

Hours, slots and permits

Cairo International is open round the clock and flagged as slot-facilitated, with handling compulsory. A foreign operator also needs landing and overflight permits from the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority. Handlers ask for the operating certificate, insurance and noise certificates and recommend filing at least 72 hours ahead, which is why a Cairo quote has a lead time.

Visa and passports

Most British passport holders need a visa for Egypt. An e-visa can be applied for online beforehand and runs for up to three months, and a visa on arrival lasts up to 30 days. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the day of arrival and have a blank page. Handlers check crew visas in advance, and we send every passenger's details ahead of the flight.

Car and the road

The drive from the airport is the least predictable hour of the trip. We give the driver the FBO's name and the terminal hall, not a general airport address, and for a fixed-time meeting we advise leaving the margin before it and not after it. Ask us for a driver who will wait through a long evening.

business aviation

Visas, permits and the paperwork behind the flight

Egypt asks more of a foreign operator and its passengers than most European destinations do, and nearly all of it is settled before anyone leaves home. The handler files the landing and overflight permits for the aircraft. The passengers apply for their visas, or buy one on arrival, and we send the e-visa details and check the names against the passports. Anything of value that you carry in, such as expensive cameras, laptops and recording equipment, should be declared on arrival, and satellite phones are likely to be confiscated without prior clearance. If a photographer plans to bring a drone, ask the Egyptian consulate before packing it.

Route and conditions, checked for every trip

– Official travel advice. GOV.UK publishes advice for Egypt region by region. It names areas that lie outside any ordinary itinerary, among them North Sinai, parts of the Western Desert and the strip along the Libyan border, and travelling against the advice can affect insurance. We read it against your itinerary before we quote and again close to departure;

– Airspace and routing. The route across the Mediterranean and into the Cairo flight information region is checked against the latest airspace notices and the bulletins that aviation authorities issue to operators, and we agree the routing and the alternate airports with the operator before the quote is confirmed;

– Conditions on the ground. Handling, permits, hotels and roads are confirmed for the dates of your trip, and if anything changes the plan or the timing we tell you plainly and early.

From the apron to the Nile

Cairo is a city where the map misleads, because distances that look short take a long time and the two airports sit on different sides of it. These are the figures that matter, with the air distances measured to the nautical mile.

Cairo International to the centre of Cairo
the airport is in Heliopolis, north-east of the middle of town, and the figure depends on the district
15 to 25 km
Sphinx International to the city
on the Giza side, north-west of the centre, and the reason it suits the plateau and nothing else
about 46 km
Cairo International to Sphinx International
a straight line across the north of the city, which is why a client does not land at one and drive to the other
about 48 km
Grand Egyptian Museum to the Giza pyramids
the museum stands to the north-west of the plateau, which is why the two share a single day
about 2 km
Cairo to Hurghada by air
a PC-12 turns the Red Sea coast into a short hop
226 nm
Cairo to Luxor by air
the first leg of a Nile itinerary, flown by a local turboprop operator
287 nm

Flying to Cairo with a dog or a cat

The cabin is not the problem: the animal sits beside you for the five hours and nothing goes into the hold. The paperwork is the problem. Egypt is not one of the countries that Britain treats as listed, so an animal coming home needs a rabies blood test that has to be planned months before the flight, and a certificate on the way out that has to be dated within four days of departure.

private flight with animals

What the trip asks for:

  • Going out: the UK export health certificate for dogs and cats travelling to Egypt, completed by an Official Veterinarian after an examination no more than 96 hours before departure and then legalised through the FCDO Legalisation Office;
  • Egypt's own conditions, as summarised by UK pet-travel agencies: a rabies vaccination given more than one month and less than twelve months before export. Egypt can change its conditions, so the official guidance tells exporters to check them with the Egyptian authorities before each consignment, and we do;
  • Coming home: a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at least 21 days earlier, a rabies blood test, a Great Britain pet health certificate and, for dogs only, a tapeworm treatment given no less than 24 hours and no more than five days before arrival;
  • An approved travel route for the return. GOV.UK tells owners to check this, and its guidance does not say how it applies to a private aircraft, so we confirm the position in writing before a booking is taken;
  • An animal that does not meet the rules can be placed in quarantine for up to four months at the owner's expense.

What catches owners out on the Cairo run

– The blood test is the long wait. GOV.UK counts three months from the date of the blood sample before an animal from a non-listed country may travel to Britain, and it describes an exception for animals vaccinated, tested and certified before they left for that country. Whether the exception covers your animal is a question for your vet and the authority, and not something to assume;

– The dates run in two directions at once. The export certificate has to be dated within 96 hours of departure, and the tapeworm window for the flight home is 24 hours to five days, so a dog's vet visit falls in Cairo, near the end of the stay, and not before leaving Britain;

– Hotels, drivers and domestic operators each have their own view of animals. A Nile cruise or a local turboprop to Luxor may refuse what the jet accepts, so settle every one of them before the quote.

Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Cairo calendar: a winter city with a long hot summer

Cairo's year runs on weather and on the lunar calendar more than on events. Winter is the season for the Nile and the Red Sea, summer is hot and quiet, and Ramadan and Eid move through the year and have to be checked before any date is fixed.

October to April
High season for the Nile and the Red Sea: Cairo's daytime highs fall from about 30 degrees in October to 19 in January and climb back to 28 in April, with almost no rain. Luxor, Aswan and resort trips cluster here, so the onward aircraft and the domestic operators are in demand
Christmas and New Year
The winter peak. Coptic Christmas falls in early January, and parties arrive for the holidays on long stays, usually with a lot of luggage and often with a plan to continue to Luxor or the coast
Late January to early February
Cairo International Book Fair: it runs for almost three weeks from the last week of January at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre in New Cairo, and it is described as the largest and oldest book fair in the Arab world. Publishers and trade visitors fill the hotels
Ramadan and Eid
Ramadan moves about eleven days earlier each year, so the month changes and has to be looked up. Working hours shorten in Ramadan and the evenings are busy; the Eid holidays fill flights and hotels in both directions
April to May
The heat builds, with highs of about 28 degrees in April and 32 in May. Still good for the pyramids and the Nile early in the day, and the afternoons are long
June to September
Daytime highs in Cairo average about 35 degrees from June to August, with no rain, and 33 in September. Sightseeing moves to the early morning and the evening, and leisure demand for Upper Egypt and the Red Sea usually falls to its lowest. Business travel carries on
November
Cairo International Film Festival: usually in November, with the Opera House as the main venue and most of the screenings in and around Downtown. A cultural crowd and not a corporate one

Why the season shapes the price

Not the flying: a long sector is priced by the hour in every month. What tightens in the winter weeks is the supply of long-range aircraft on the European side and of the domestic operators for Luxor and the Red Sea, both in the same days. A booking made three or four weeks before a Christmas or New Year arrival is simpler and cheaper than one made in the last week, and a party that wants a particular aircraft for a holiday week should say so early. Through the summer the position reverses, aircraft are easy to find, and Cairo is among the easier long sectors to place.

Ways to bring the Cairo price down

  • Book the return with the outbound. A one-way flight carries the cost of the aircraft getting home, so a client who knows the return date within a few days usually gets a better figure from a round trip quoted as one job;
  • Take the super-midsize and not a heavy jet unless the party needs one. The Praetor 600 and the Challenger 350 cover the whole sector with a stop saved, and the money you do not spend on cabin size buys the car and the hotel;
  • Offer a window and not a date. Winter-sun traffic leaves aircraft in Egypt and the Gulf, and a client who can leave on any of three days has a far better chance of an empty leg than one who needs a particular morning.

Types of flights

Cairo produces a different mix from the European capitals we cover, because it is a government and business capital, the gateway to the pyramids and the Nile, and a hub for the eastern Mediterranean and the Gulf all at once.

  • Business and delegation travel, with fixed meeting times and a Cairo host who often has views on the airport and the car, and where permits and passenger details are the main concern;
  • Culture and history trips to the Giza plateau and the Grand Egyptian Museum, landing at Sphinx International in daylight or at Cairo International with a car;
  • Nile and Red Sea holidays that use Cairo as the entry point and continue by a local operator to Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh;
  • Business hops to Athens, Larnaca, Istanbul and Dubai, often tied in with a Cairo stop;
  • Family visits and long stays, with a lot of luggage and sometimes a dog.

Because the sector is long, the shape of the return matters more here than on a European hop. A client who knows the return date can have both legs quoted together, and one who does not can have a one-way quoted with an empty-leg alert running beside it. We show both figures so that the difference is visible before the decision is made.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. A long sector is a valuable one, and on the Cairo route the legs follow the seasons and the delegations more than any fixed pattern.

Where Cairo empty legs come from

– The winter weeks. Aircraft bring parties to Egypt for Christmas, New Year and the school holidays and go home empty a few days later, and the leg that leaves Cairo, Luxor or Hurghada for Britain or Europe is the one most often offered;

– Delegations and trade events. A party flies out for a meeting or an exhibition and the aircraft repositions the day after, which produces a departure on a date set by someone else's diary;

– Gulf and Mediterranean rotation. Aircraft move between Cairo, Dubai, Athens and Larnaca between charters, and the shorter legs between them can be inexpensive.

A long empty leg rewards flexibility. A client who can offer a three-day window has a much better chance than one who needs a particular morning. The usual terms apply: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish if the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Cairo match as soon as an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter

In Cairo a helicopter is an experience and a tool for the edges of a trip, and not an airport shuttle. The two business airports are about 48 km apart on different sides of a very large city, and the useful question is not whether a machine can bridge them but whether the permission exists, because that is what decides every rotary job in Egypt.

Luxor and Hurghada are better served by a fixed-wing aircraft at this distance, with a helicopter only for the last stretch to a hotel or a boat

Before you plan around a helicopter

– Permission comes first. The Egyptian authorities control where a helicopter may operate and over which areas, so we confirm the permission for every landing site and every overflown area before we quote. A hotel lawn, a private compound or the deck of a boat is not a site until it has been approved;

– Heat sets the schedule. Summer afternoons cut the payload and the visibility, so flights are planned for the cooler hours of the day, and a transfer needs a road alternative in the same plan;

– Book the helicopter with the jet. Both crews then work to one timetable and one set of permissions, and nobody finds out on the day that the rotary operator has a different date.

The machines used for this kind of work are the Airbus H125 and H130 for sightseeing and short transfers, and the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin-engine helicopter is wanted. We book them alongside the jet so that the whole itinerary is quoted and confirmed as one.

Cairo charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

DELEGATION · FIXED DATES

A negotiating team and a car at the door

Farnborough - Cairo, Embraer Praetor 600, about 4 h 55 min · 6 pax

The dates came from the meeting calendar and not from the client. The handler had the permits and the passenger details more than 72 hours before departure, and the driver was briefed with the Terminal 1 hall and not a general airport address. The aircraft left on time, and the party reached the city with the afternoon still ahead of them.

CULTURE · THE OTHER AIRPORT WON

A family for the pyramids and the museum

London Luton - Cairo Sphinx, Embraer Praetor 600, about 5 hours · 5 pax

They asked for Cairo and meant the plateau. Landing at Sphinx International on the Giza side saved the drive across the city, and the price of that was a daylight arrival and a departure timed to match, because the airport is listed as open from sunrise to sunset. We checked both with the handler before the quote went out.

WINTER SUN · TWO LONG SECTORS, ONE CREW

Cairo, Luxor and home

Birmingham - Cairo, Embraer Praetor 600, about 5 h 05 min · 6 pax

The jet took the party to Cairo and a local turboprop operator flew the Nile leg to Luxor, because domestic sectors are normally reserved for Egyptian-licensed operators. The same crew collected them in Cairo a week later. Two long flights on one aircraft and one domestic leg arranged locally, all quoted as a single trip.

A DOG ON BOARD · THE LONG LEAD TIME

Two adults and a labrador for a winter fortnight

Biggin Hill - Cairo, Embraer Praetor 600, about 4 h 50 min · 2 pax + dog

The paperwork began months before departure with the rabies blood test, because Egypt is not a listed country for the return. The export certificate was dated inside 96 hours of the flight out, and the tapeworm treatment was booked with a Cairo vet for the end of the stay, between 24 hours and five days before the flight home. The flight itself was the easy part.

BUSINESS HOP · EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN

A morning in Athens and an evening in Cairo

Cairo - Athens and return, Embraer Phenom 300E, about 1 h 50 min each way · 3 pax

Three executives based in Cairo, one meeting in Athens, and no wish to sleep there. A light jet is the right size for a sector of this length, and the aircraft waited on the ground in Athens, which is a line in the quote and still comes in below two one-way charters.

EMPTY LEG · A JET GOING HOME

A three-day window and a Cairo departure

Cairo - London Luton, Embraer Praetor 600 empty leg, about 4 h 55 min · 3 pax

The aircraft had taken a winter-sun party out and was flying home empty. The client gave us a window of three days instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a long sector.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Cairo

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Cairo?

About 4 hours 50 minutes from Biggin Hill in an Embraer Praetor 600 and around 4 hours 55 minutes from Farnborough or Luton, covering roughly 1,963 to 1,994 nautical miles. From Birmingham or Bristol allow about 5 hours 5 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow in a Praetor 600 about 5 hours 25 to 30 minutes. Cairo is two hours ahead of Britain for most of the year, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly before two in the afternoon local time.

2How much does a private jet to Cairo cost?

From about £32,050 one way in a Praetor 600 out of Biggin Hill, and £32,500 from Luton. Birmingham and Bristol run from £33,450 to £33,500, and from Scotland allow £35,950 to £36,350. Light jets generally need a fuel stop on this sector, so these are super-midsize prices. Winter-sun weeks and the Eid holidays price above these figures.

3Which Cairo airport should a private jet use?

Cairo International (CAI / HECA) for almost every trip: open round the clock, three runways, customs on site and FBOs at Terminal 1, with slots required and handling compulsory. Sphinx International (SPX / HESX) on the Giza side is the alternative for a daytime arrival when the first stop is the pyramids or the Grand Egyptian Museum, because it is listed as open from sunrise to sunset only.

4Do British passengers need a visa for Egypt?

Most British passport holders do. An e-visa can be applied for online in advance and is valid for up to three months, and a visa on arrival is valid for up to 30 days. The passport must be valid for at least six months from the day of arrival and have a blank page. Handlers check crew visas in advance, and we check the entry rules again before the flight.

5Can a private jet fly on from Cairo to Luxor or the Red Sea?

Yes, but the domestic sector is normally flown by an Egyptian-licensed operator and not by the aircraft that brought you from Britain. Luxor is about 287 nautical miles from Cairo, Hurghada 226 and Sharm El Sheikh 211, so a turboprop covers each in roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half. We quote the domestic leg separately and confirm the position for your aircraft.

6Can I take my dog to Cairo on a private jet?

Yes, in the cabin, but start early. The dog needs the UK export health certificate for Egypt, completed by an Official Veterinarian within 96 hours of departure. For the return Egypt is not a listed country, so it needs a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a rabies blood test, a Great Britain pet health certificate and a tapeworm treatment between 24 hours and five days before arrival. We confirm each step in writing.
