Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city and its commercial centre, and it wears that differently from Edinburgh. Where the capital is formal and compact, Glasgow is a Victorian merchant city built on shipbuilding money, with the architecture to prove it and a reputation for warmth that visitors mention before they mention anything else. It is also the practical base for the west of Scotland: the Highlands begin forty minutes north, the golf coast an hour south, and the whisky islands are a short flight west.

The city that private aviation clients actually use divides into three.
