Private jet charter to Mont-Blanc
London to Aosta is a little under two hours, and the whole aeroplane starts at about 7,900 GBP one way. What separates this valley from every other Alpine arrival is the field itself: a single 1,499-metre runway at 546 above sea level, hemmed in by the highest summits in western Europe, and open to visual traffic only. The instrument arrival onto runway 27 is flown solely by crews carrying a separate Italian authorisation, which is why the pool of operators able to bring a charter in here is short, and why we settle the aeroplane before anything else. Aosta town lies three kilometres west of the apron, the drive up to Courmayeur takes thirty-five minutes, and Chamonix is a further half hour through the Mont Blanc tunnel. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The aircraft that qualify for this runway tend to sit at Geneva, Turin, Milan and the London fields, which keeps positioning cost down, and your handling agent lodges the security notification for a passenger charter two days before departure.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Mont-Blanc depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Mont-Blanc?
Under two hours from the south of England, and around two and a half from Scotland. These are block figures with taxi and the valley approach counted in. Every route below is measured to Aosta itself, LIMW, not to a neighbouring field.
| Route | Aircraft | Flying time | Routing |
|---|---|---|---|
| London Biggin Hill (EGKB) - Aosta (LIMW) 444 nm / 823 km |
Cessna Citation M2 | about 1 h 40 min | Nonstop |
| London Luton (EGGW) - Aosta (LIMW) 478 nm / 886 km |
Cessna Citation CJ3+ | about 1 h 45 min | Nonstop |
| Birmingham (EGBB) - Aosta (LIMW) 539 nm / 998 km |
Cessna Citation CJ3+ | about 1 h 55 min | Nonstop |
| Edinburgh (EGPH) - Aosta (LIMW) 734 nm / 1,360 km |
Cessna Citation XLS+ | about 2 h 20 min | Nonstop |
| Glasgow (EGPF) - Aosta (LIMW) 753 nm / 1,395 km |
Cessna Citation XLS+ | about 2 h 25 min | Nonstop |
Distance is the smallest variable here. A headwind adds ten minutes at most, whereas waiting for the cloud base to lift off the valley floor can cost an afternoon, and the second is what we plan around.

Two things that move the price on this route
The first is the aeroplane, and here it is decided for you rather than by you. A cabin larger than a Citation XLS+ cannot use the runway at Aosta, so a party of twelve is never quoted a heavy jet into the valley: the answer is two smaller aircraft, or one bigger machine into Turin with an hour of motorway at the far end. Both are legitimate and they cost very different amounts, which is why we ask for the passenger count first.
The second is the calendar. February half term, the fortnight either side of Christmas and the last week of August all price well above the table, and in those weeks the constraint is stands rather than aeroplanes. Outside them the valley is quiet enough that a repositioning flight in the right direction can be had at a fraction of the charter rate, and those appear on our empty legs list.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Private jet flights to Mont-Blanc from Europe
Aosta also works as a short hop from the European hubs, and a good part of the traffic into the valley starts on the continent rather than in Britain. The sectors below are the ones we are asked for most often.
| Route | Aircraft | Flight time | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Milan Linate - Aosta 82 nm / 152 km |
Cessna Citation M2, up to 6 passengers | about 0 h 40 min | from 4,300 GBP |
| Zurich - Aosta 115 nm / 212 km |
Cessna Citation M2, up to 6 passengers | about 0 h 50 min | from 4,900 GBP |
| Nice - Aosta 125 nm / 232 km |
Cessna Citation CJ2+, up to 6 passengers | about 0 h 50 min | from 5,400 GBP |
| Cannes Mandelieu - Aosta 133 nm / 246 km |
Cessna Citation CJ2+, up to 6 passengers | about 0 h 55 min | from 5,700 GBP |
| Munich - Aosta 239 nm / 443 km |
Cessna Citation CJ3+, up to 7 passengers | about 1 h 10 min | from 6,900 GBP |
| Frankfurt - Aosta 262 nm / 486 km |
Cessna Citation CJ3+, up to 7 passengers | about 1 h 15 min | from 7,300 GBP |
| Paris Le Bourget - Aosta 279 nm / 516 km |
Cessna Citation CJ3+, up to 7 passengers | about 1 h 20 min | from 7,700 GBP |
| Rome Ciampino - Aosta 327 nm / 606 km |
Embraer Phenom 300E, up to 8 passengers | about 1 h 25 min | from 8,600 GBP |
| Barcelona - Aosta 352 nm / 652 km |
Embraer Phenom 300E, up to 8 passengers | about 1 h 30 min | from 9,100 GBP |
| Vienna - Aosta 403 nm / 746 km |
Cessna Citation XLS+, up to 9 passengers | about 1 h 40 min | from 10,600 GBP |
Two things worth knowing about these sectors
– Geneva and Turin are missing from the table on purpose. Both sit under an hour away by air, which is shorter than the taxi and the climb, so for those two we quote a car or a helicopter and the answer comes out cheaper as well as quicker;
– Short sectors are dominated by fixed costs. Landing, handling, crew duty and the return positioning barely move between a fifty-minute flight and a ninety-minute one, so the Vienna figure is nowhere near proportional to the extra distance it covers.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
Hourly rates show how much the aeroplane drives the total. The list runs by price, and the break that matters is in the middle: everything above it can land in the valley, everything below it arrives at Turin or Geneva.

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! – the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6500 business jets of different configurations and production years, and the list is constantly updated. The five groups below are the ones that matter for a flight into the Aosta Valley, and the reason each earns its place sits under the heading.
Turboprops
A PC-12 climbs out of a short strip at altitude with less fuss than anything else we operate, and on a marginal February morning it is often the only machine that gets in. Forty minutes slower to Britain, and worth it.
Entry-level jets
Approach category A, uncontroversial on this runway, and the least expensive jet for four or five people into the valley from London in under two hours. Once skis are aboard, baggage bites before seats do.
Light jets
The workhorses here. Both reach Aosta from Scotland nonstop, both sit inside the approach categories the field accepts, and both are common enough that finding an operator with the Italian authorisation is realistic.

The largest cabin the runway accepts
A stand-up cabin, a proper hold for skis, and the ceiling of what Aosta accepts. Above this size the answer stops being a bigger aeroplane and becomes a different airport.
Larger groups, arriving through Turin
Twelve people and up, or anyone wanting a flat bed home off a long-haul connection. These land at Turin Caselle, a shade over an hour away by motorway, or Geneva if the plan is Chamonix.
This is only a small part of the fleet available to us. Where the valley is not the right answer for your group, we send the aircraft to Turin or Geneva and arrange the ground leg to match.

Business aviation airports in Mont-Blanc
The Aosta Valley has exactly one airport and it carries the mountain in its trading name. Everything about a booking follows from the shape of the place, so the panel below is worth reading before choosing an aircraft.
The authorisation that decides who can fly you here
Aosta publishes a single instrument arrival, an IGS onto runway 27, and it is restricted to approach categories A and B. More importantly it may only be flown by operators that hold a specific approval from ENAC, the Italian civil aviation authority, applied for through the airport company and backed by documented familiarisation and captain qualification for the procedure. An operator without that approval is limited to visual conditions, which in a valley of this shape is a real constraint between November and March.
The consequence is that the aircraft comes first and the price second. We confirm an operator cleared for the field before quoting, and where winter weather makes the valley doubtful we price Turin alongside it, so the alternative exists from the start rather than being improvised on the morning.

The alternatives, and when each one is the right answer:
| Field | What it takes and when it suits |
|---|---|
| Turin Caselle TRN / LIMF, 34 nm |
A full international airport with a 3,300-metre runway, low visibility operations and customs on site, taking every type up to airliner cabins. The standard answer for a heavy jet, a group too large to split, or a winter date that looks marginal. Allow a little over an hour on the A5 to Aosta |
| Geneva GVA / LSGG, 60 nm |
The busiest business aviation gateway in the Alps and the obvious choice if the destination is Chamonix rather than the Italian side. Around ninety minutes to Chamonix and close to two hours to Courmayeur through the Mont Blanc tunnel. Parking is the constraint in the ski weeks and is requested well ahead |
| Milan Linate LIN / LIML, 82 nm |
A city airport with its own general aviation terminal and no meaningful weather limit. Roughly two hours by road, so useful mainly when the trip combines Milan with the mountains |
| Sion SIR / LSGS, 29 nm |
The closest field by air, but it sits on the Swiss side of the watershed and the road runs over or under the Grand St Bernard pass. Sensible for Verbier and Zermatt, rarely the right choice for Courmayeur |
| Chambery and Annecy CMF / LFLB and NCY / LFLP |
The French alpine pair, both well west of the massif. They serve Courchevel, Meribel and Val d'Isere well and have no natural claim on this valley |
Three practical points
– Published runway figures for Aosta differ between sources because the strip was lengthened from 1,240 metres during a regional upgrade. The current AIP figure is 1,499, and we confirm performance for your specific aircraft and date rather than a general number;
– Italy is in Schengen and Britain is not, so a flight from the UK crosses an external border. At a field of this size the clearance is arranged in advance rather than standing on duty, and both the customs service and the Guardia di Finanza attend the aircraft. Your handling agent lodges it with the flight plan;
– The airport is a permanent base for the region's alpine rescue helicopters, which is why the rotary infrastructure is better than the size of the terminal suggests, and why a helicopter can still move after the fixed-wing day has closed.
Passengers are handled in the general aviation terminal rather than a main concourse, and half an hour before departure is enough on a normal day. Our consultants confirm the operating window and the ground arrangements for your specific date.
From the apron to the pistes
The valley runs east to west with a motorway along its floor, so ground transfers behave far better than on the coast or in the Tarentaise. The times below are clear-road figures and hold up outside the Saturday changeover.
three kilometres, and the shortest transfer of any Alpine field we useabout 10 minutes
reached by the gondola out of Aosta rather than by road20 minutes plus the lift
west along the A5, at the foot of the mountain itselfabout 35 minutes
east down the valley, then up the Val d'Ayasabout 40 minutes
beyond Pre-Saint-Didier, linked over the pass to La Rosiereabout 45 minutes
north up the Valtournenche, under the Matterhornabout 50 minutes
through the Mont Blanc tunnel, and a passport crossingabout 1 h 30 min
Helicopter transfers in the Aosta Valley
This is one of the few destinations where the helicopter is a working part of the plan rather than a flourish, and the reason has nothing to do with congestion. The fixed-wing day closes half an hour after sunset, which in late December means mid-afternoon, while approved rotary traffic can still move.
How the rotary leg is actually arranged
Two classes of machine cover almost everything asked for here. A light single such as the Airbus H125 carries four passengers with ski bags and suits a resort hop; a light twin holds performance better in poor conditions and is what we put on a border crossing or an evening movement.
Two constraints are worth planning around. A landing anywhere other than an established pad needs the site agreed beforehand, and mountain weather shuts rotary options faster than it closes the motorway, so we hold the car as the fallback. In the Christmas and February weeks the helicopter is committed at the same time as the aeroplane.
Flying to Mont-Blanc with a dog or a cat
Italy is among the easier countries in Europe to take a dog to, and easier still to come home from. The paperwork has changed recently though, and it catches owners who travelled happily for years on a document that no longer works.
The one fact to read before you book
A pet passport issued in the European Union is no longer valid for an owner resident in Great Britain, whatever date it carries and whichever member state granted it. The replacement is an Animal Health Certificate from an official veterinarian, and it is trip-specific rather than reusable: a fresh one for every journey, signed within ten days of departure. Accredited vets book up weeks ahead in the school holidays, so this is the item to arrange first once your dates are fixed.
What Italy requires on the way in:
- A microchip meeting ISO 11784 or 11785, implanted and readable before the rabies vaccination rather than after it, because a chip fitted in the wrong order invalidates the jab for travel;
- A rabies vaccination given at twelve weeks of age or older, with at least twenty-one days between a first course and the flight. A booster inside the validity of the previous one carries no waiting period;
- An Animal Health Certificate signed by an official veterinarian within ten days of travel, bilingual in English and the language of the country you first enter;
- No tapeworm treatment is required to enter Italy, which surprises people who have driven through Finland or Ireland;
- A limit of five animals per party, unless you are travelling to a recognised show or competition and can prove it.
The split between species matters only on the way home. Coming back into Great Britain from Italy, a dog needs a praziquantel treatment given by a vet between twenty-four and one hundred and twenty hours before arrival, recorded with the date and time on the certificate. Cats and ferrets need nothing of the kind. Italy is a listed country for return purposes, so there is no antibody test and no waiting period.
Under two hours from London is short enough that most dogs sleep through it, and aboard a charter there is no hold to travel in, no crate requirement and no separation at either end. Full details sit on our travel with pets page. The point worth repeating is timing: the certificate appointment, not the flight, governs how early to start.
The Aosta Valley season
The valley has two clear peaks and a genuinely quiet middle, and the difference between them is visible in the price of a stand as much as in the price of a bed.
When the valley is busy, and what it means for a booking
– Late December into the first week of January. Short days, the fixed-wing window closing in mid-afternoon, and everybody arriving on the same two Saturdays. Aeroplane and helicopter go into the booking together;
– February half term, the busiest fortnight of the winter for British families in Courmayeur and La Thuile, and the point at which two light jets stop being cheaper than one larger machine into Turin;
– The last week of August, when the ultra trail fills Courmayeur and Chamonix at once and the tunnel road behaves accordingly. Worth landing at Aosta to stay on the Italian side of it;
– Mid-September to late November, and again from mid-April. Quiet, cheap, and the window in which a repositioning flight is likeliest to match your dates.
Types of flights
Our company provides all types of business flights. Due to a wide variety of jets, we can arrange:
- private flights;
- corporate flights;
- business class flights;
- concert tours;
- medical flights (with doctors and special equipment on board);
- tourist flights for large and small groups;
- sports charters for teams and coaching staff;
- combined flights (partly by business jet, and partly by helicopter);
- exclusive flights on luxury jets for businessmen, celebrities, and politicians;
- cargo flights, etc.
A flexible approach and a wide experience allow us to solve problems of any complexity. In 90% of cases, we manage to arrange urgent flights (on the day of application). That applies to ordinary European sectors; at Aosta the security notification sets a floor of forty-eight hours on a passenger charter, so for this valley we recommend sending a request at least three to five days before the desired date of departure.

Empty Legs
Another way to fly cheaper is to use Empty Legs. This service allows you to save on regular charter rates. As you know, part of the flights is one-way. An aircraft that has carried a party into the Aosta Valley on a Saturday frequently flies back towards Geneva, Turin or the London fields with nobody aboard, and on this route those returns are unusually common because so few machines stay overnight here. Such flight is called “Empty Legs”. Empty leg flights can be as cheap as 50-75% off the standard charter price. This option is profitable for both the passengers and the charter companies. The clients can enjoy the services of business aviation at a very good price, while the airlines recoup part of the cost of fuel and jet maintenance.
It is almost impossible to find Empty Leg flights, as the information about them is stored in special databases available only to the aviation brokers and specialized companies. You should know that Empty Leg flights offer the same service as private jet charters. The passengers enjoy a 100% private jet flying experience. Services and flight conditions are discussed individually. We should note that our company cooperates with the world’s largest home bases, so we can offer our clients a wide choice of return flights. Just send a request to our manager who will help you find the best flight options. Please note that Empty Leg flights are sold out very quickly. To avoid such a problem, you can leave us a deposit, and we will contact you as soon as the flight of your choice becomes available. For additional information, check with the operators.

Jet Sharing
Today, Jet Sharing is just as popular as private jet charter. This service involves the joint rental of a business jet with other passengers (that is, the cost of the flight is divided equally between all passengers of a specific flight). This type of flight has become especially popular in the last few years. Many people like Jet Sharing because it allows you to enjoy all benefits of business aviation at favorable prices.
We should note that the number of passengers per Jet Sharing flight varies from 3 to 8, while the cost of the flight ranges from 1200 to 6000 pounds (depending on the destination). This way, you can get a comfortable flight on a business jet (and maybe even meet new business partners) at a very good price. You can check out the schedule of Jet Sharing flights by filling in the online form or contacting our operators by phone or WhatsApp.
Main advantages of this service:
- All privileges of business aviation, including the use of the business aviation terminal and the check-in 30 minutes before the flight, are retained;
- You can also use the services of the VIP Lounge (included in the price of the flight);
- No baggage restrictions;
- Affordable price: jet sharing is much cheaper than private jet charter;
- Pets can be carried directly in the aircraft cabin.
Our consultants will be happy to help you choose the best flight.

Helicopter charter
Private Jets UK clients have access to a large rotary fleet across the Alps. In this valley the machine is usually boarded at the airport itself, which keeps the ski bags with you and removes the road transfer entirely. Where it is based elsewhere we arrange a car to the nearest approved pad.
The realistic choices here, and what each one is for:
- Airbus H125, four passengers with ski bags, the standard resort hop and the least expensive way to reach Courmayeur or Cervinia from the apron;
- Airbus H135, six seats, a light twin that holds performance better in poor conditions and the one we put on an evening movement;
- Agusta AW109, six seats, more comfortable again and the usual answer for a cross-border leg into Chamonix, Verbier or Zermatt;
- Airbus H145, up to eight seats, used when a party and its luggage will not fit the smaller cabins in a single rotation.
Availability moves week by week, and the Christmas and February periods are committed months ahead. Please contact our aviation consultants for the current position on a particular model and date.

Mont-Blanc charters we have flown: six trips from the booking notes
What follows is drawn from our own records, with surnames reduced to initials and a few details altered so that nobody is identifiable. They were chosen because each one turned on something particular to this valley rather than on charter in general.
SKI · WEATHER
The M. family: the valley shut and the motorway did not
Farnborough to Aosta, Citation CJ2+, 1 h 45 min · 5 passengers and a nanny
A February departure with cloud on the valley floor and no improvement forecast until late afternoon. The operator held the Italian approval for the runway 27 arrival, which kept Aosta live longer than it would otherwise have been, but the minima were still not there by the slot. We moved the landing to Turin, kept the same aircraft and put a car on the A5. They reached Courmayeur an hour and a quarter behind schedule rather than a day.
BUSINESS · AUTHORISATION
Mr D. R.: a cheaper aeroplane that could not land
Luton to Aosta, Citation CJ3+, 1 h 45 min · 4 passengers
He came to us holding a quote from elsewhere that sat some way under ours and wanted to know why. The aircraft in it was a perfectly good light jet whose operator had no ENAC approval for the Aosta procedure, so the trip depended entirely on a kind January morning. We set the difference out in writing instead of arguing about price, and he landed in the valley on a day the cheaper option would have diverted.
DOG · PAPERWORK
Ms H. C.: the passport that had stopped working
Biggin Hill to Aosta, Citation M2, 1 h 40 min · 2 passengers and a labrador
She had taken the same animal to France for years on an EU pet passport issued by a vet in Normandy, and had not heard that it stopped being valid for British residents last spring. We caught it when the booking came in, eleven days out, just enough for an official veterinarian to issue the certificate inside its ten-day window. The return was the easy part: one tablet, timed against the arrival at Biggin Hill.
GROUP · SPLIT
A Midlands manufacturing group: fourteen people, two answers
Birmingham to Aosta and Turin, comparison quote · 14 passengers
A company ski week for fourteen, above anything Aosta takes in one aircraft. The two honest options were a pair of Citation CJ3+ into the valley or a single Legacy into Turin with a coach at the far end. The pair came out dearer and landed everybody twenty minutes from the hotel; the Legacy was cheaper and cost them ninety minutes of motorway. They chose the split.
EVENT · LATE AUGUST
Mr and Mrs P.: the week the tunnel stops working
Bristol to Aosta, Citation CJ2+, 1 h 50 min · 4 passengers
They were supporting a runner in the ultra trail and had originally asked for Geneva, which is the instinct of anyone who knows Chamonix. In that week the road between the two valleys is the worst part of the journey. Landing at Aosta put them on the Italian side with a thirty-five minute drive instead of an unpredictable crossing.

Mr K. A.: an arrival that beat the closing of the airfield
Le Bourget to Aosta, Citation CJ3+, 1 h 20 min, then a light twin · 5 passengers
A meeting overran and the departure slipped until the aeroplane would land within twenty minutes of the fixed-wing day ending. That was fine for the arrival itself but would have meant a dark December drive up the valley. The rotary leg was already in the booking and approved, and put them into Courmayeur ten minutes after they stepped off the jet.
Mont-Blanc and the Aosta Valley: destination overview
Mont Blanc has two sides and they are not interchangeable. Chamonix, on the French flank, is a town that happens to be ringed by mountains: loud, international and serious about alpinism. Courmayeur, on the Italian side and the one Aosta serves, is smaller, sunnier in aspect and considerably better at lunch. Behind it lies a bilingual autonomous region with Roman ruins in its capital and castles the length of the motorway.
Where to stay
Courmayeur is the obvious base and divides into the village itself, close to the Piazzale Monte Bianco and the shops, and the hamlets of Entreves and La Palud further up towards the tunnel, which are quieter and sit at the foot of the Skyway cable car. The grandest hotels are a walk from the centre rather than on the slope, since the skiing is reached by lift from the village. La Thuile suits families wanting ski-in access and a link over the pass into France. Aosta is an actual town rather than a resort, ten minutes from the apron, and works well in summer.
What to do
The Skyway Monte Bianco is the single thing everyone should do: three stages of rotating glass cabins to Punta Helbronner at 3,466 metres, with the summit close enough to feel unreasonable. Courmayeur has around forty kilometres of piste, more interesting than that number suggests because of the off-piste on the Italian side. Cervinia links over the ridge into Zermatt for a day in Switzerland. In summer the Tour du Mont Blanc runs through Courmayeur, the Val Ferret and Val Veny are among the finest short walks in the Alps, and the thermal baths at Pre-Saint-Didier answer a long day. The Forte di Bard and the Roman theatre fill a wet afternoon.
When the valley is busy
Christmas through to the first weekend of January, and the February half term, are the two periods when everything is committed early. The last days of August belong to the ultra trail. June and late September are the sweet spots: lifts running, valleys green, and stands available at the airport without a fight.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Mont-Blanc
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Mont-Blanc?
Roughly 1 hour 40 from Biggin Hill and 1 hour 45 from Luton or Farnborough, covering some 444 to 478 nautical miles to Aosta. From Birmingham allow about 1 hour 55, from Manchester around 2 hours, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow 2 hours 20 to 2 hours 25. Those are block figures with taxi and the valley approach included.
2How much does a private jet to Mont-Blanc cost?
From about 7,900 GBP one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, 8,400 GBP from Farnborough and 9,600 GBP from Luton. Birmingham runs about 10,400 GBP and Manchester 11,300 GBP, while Edinburgh is around 15,200 GBP and Glasgow 15,900 GBP on a Citation XLS+. Those are shoulder-season figures for the whole aircraft: the Christmas fortnight and February half term price above them.
3Which airport do private jets use for Mont Blanc?
Aosta Valley, AOT or LIMW, which trades as Aosta Mont-Blanc and is the only aerodrome in the region. It sits three kilometres from Aosta town and thirty-five minutes from Courmayeur. The runway measures 1,499 metres and sits 546 above sea level, the field takes approach categories A and B, and the ceiling in practice is a Citation XLS+. Anything larger arrives at Turin Caselle, a little over an hour away by motorway.
4Do British passport holders need a visa for Italy?
No. A British passport allows visa-free travel for short stays of up to ninety days in any one hundred and eighty. Italy is inside Schengen and the United Kingdom is not, so the flight crosses an external border and arrivals are now recorded electronically under the EU entry and exit system. At a field the size of Aosta the clearance is arranged in advance with your flight plan and completed at the aircraft rather than in a hall.
5Can any private jet land at Aosta, or should I use Geneva?
Not any aircraft, and the distinction is worth understanding. Aosta operates under visual flight rules with one instrument arrival that only ENAC-approved operators may fly, which narrows the field considerably in winter. If the destination is Courmayeur, La Thuile or Cervinia and the party fits a Citation XLS+, Aosta wins comfortably on transfer time. If the destination is Chamonix, or the group needs a heavy jet, Geneva or Turin is the better answer.
