Private jet charter in Annecy
From the London fields it is about an hour and twenty minutes in the air to the Haute-Savoie, and the decision that shapes the trip is which runway the aircraft uses: the short one beside Lake Annecy or the long one across the Swiss border. Private Jets UK builds the charter around the answer. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Annecy-Haute-Savoie-Mont Blanc airport has one paved runway of 1,630 m, no instrument landing system and a tower that closes early in the evening, so it suits light and midsize jets flown by crews who know it. Geneva, about 50 km away, has a runway of 3,900 m and a dedicated business aviation terminal, and it is where the larger cabins, the late arrivals and the busiest winter Saturdays usually go.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Annecy depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Annecy?
About an hour and twenty minutes from Biggin Hill in a light jet, about two hours from Edinburgh or Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference to add on arrival, because France keeps Central European time. At 420 to 745 nautical miles from the British fields we use, Annecy is a short sector from the south of England and a comfortable midsize job from Scotland. The table gives the flight from each field.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at Meythet shortly after nine local time, because France is an hour ahead. The airfield lies about 3.5 km north-west of the town centre according to the official aerodrome entry, and the tourist office counts 7 km from the airport to the city, so a car reaches the old town in a quarter of an hour or so. A client who left a London office at half past six can be sitting down on the lakefront by eleven local time, and the whole journey from central London to central Annecy comes to roughly three and a half hours. The catch is the other end of the day: the tower closes in the early evening, so the way home has to be planned around it.
Light jet or midsize: how the choice usually goes on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, take a light jet. Eighty minutes in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is no hardship, and a light jet is also the natural fit for a runway of this length;
– Past four, or with ski bags for the Aravis, golf clubs or a week of luggage for a lakeside villa, we quote a midsize jet alongside it so that you see both figures. On this route the hold decides before the seat count does;
– A large-cabin jet is a Geneva booking. The runway at Meythet is 1,630 m, and the landing distance actually available is shorter, about 1,310 to 1,330 m, so we do not offer a heavy aircraft there on the strength of a hope.

Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all of them into Annecy-Haute-Savoie-Mont Blanc airport at Meythet. Winter weekends, the week of the animation film festival and the first weekend of August sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Private jet flights from Annecy
Annecy is a base for short hops over the Alps and down the Rhône more than for long sectors. Lyon is about 35 minutes in a turboprop, Sion and the Valais sit over the range, and the Riviera and Paris are easy light-jet distances. Geneva and Chambéry are close enough by road that nobody flies between them and Annecy. Typical one-way prices:

Onward from Annecy: when the aircraft wins and when the car does
Geneva's airport is 19 nautical miles away on the chart and about 50 km by road, Chambéry is about 52 km and La Clusaz about 30 km, so nobody charters a flight for those: you land at the airport that suits the day and drive. The onward flights worth making are the ones with no good road. Lyon Bron is 52 nautical miles west, about 35 minutes in a Pilatus PC-12, and Sion in the Swiss Valais is 56, about 35 minutes. Nice at 150 nautical miles and Paris Le Bourget at 245 are ordinary light-jet sectors. France and Switzerland are both in the Schengen area, so the first landing carries the passport formalities and the hops after it do not repeat them, although a landing in Switzerland brings Swiss customs rules for goods.
Before you accept an onward quote from Annecy
– Who is flying it. Meythet asks for specific pilot training, and an operator that has never landed there will either decline or send a crew that has to be positioned, so a quote that ignores the point is a quote that will change;
– Whether the legs are one booking. Annecy to Lyon to Nice over three days costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Annecy:
Light jets, the natural fit for Meythet
At eighty minutes this is the sensible class for four or five people, and the short paved runway at Annecy is the second reason. Nothing here lacks the range, so the money goes on the car and the hotel instead of a cabin you will not fill.
Midsize, for ski bags and a villa week
The hold fills faster than the seats on the Alpine run: boots and skis in winter, clubs and wine in summer. Midsize jets are the largest class we put on the Annecy runway without a performance check first.
Super-midsize and large, usually via Geneva
For a party travelling as one group, a team that works in the air, or a trip that carries on from the Alps to the Gulf. These aircraft belong on Geneva's 3,900 m runway, with a road transfer to the lake of about an hour.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the short hops from the lake: Lyon Bron and Sion are about forty minutes or less in the air, and the saving over a jet on those distances is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a ridge-top lunch, a chalet in the Aravis or a sightseeing loop over the lake. A helicopter operator is based on the airfield at Meythet itself, and the landing site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Annecy sits between Geneva, Lyon and Chambéry, so there is often an aircraft within half an hour of the lake, and a quote may name one of those airports as the positioning point. That is normal for a leisure airfield with a small based fleet, and it is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports for Annecy
Four airports are worth discussing for an Annecy trip. One is on the doorstep, one is across the border, and the other two matter when the trip is really to Chambéry's valley or to the Isère side of the Alps. Which one is right depends on the aircraft and the hour, not on the postcode.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Annecy-Haute-Savoie-Mont Blanc, Meythet NCY / LFLP |
The airport for almost every trip whose business is in Annecy, on the lake or in the Aravis valleys. It stands at about 464 m, 3.5 km north-west of the town, with one paved runway, 04/22, of 1,630 m by 30 m and a published strength rating of PCN 65. The landing distance available is about 1,310 to 1,330 m, and the aerodrome entry lists no instrument landing system. Jet A1 is supplied on the stand, and there are 24 stands, a VIP lounge, a crew lounge and catering. Hangar space is offered by Avialpes and Annecy Jet Center. Handling through the operator is compulsory for aircraft of 3 tonnes or more |
| Geneva GVA / LSGG |
The big-jet alternative, about 50 km from Annecy by road, on a single concrete runway of 3,900 m at 430 m elevation, some 4 km from the centre of Geneva. Business aviation has its own terminal at the south-west end of the airport, about 2 km from the main terminal, with VIP lounges and private immigration and customs. Jet Aviation's FBO there is open every day from 06:00 to 22:00 and has three executive lounges. Choose Geneva for a large cabin, for an arrival after Annecy's tower has closed, or when a winter Saturday leaves no room at Meythet |
| Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc CMF / LFLB |
About 52 km from Annecy, with a paved runway of 2,020 m at 237 m elevation. British airlines fly seasonal ski services into it, so on a winter Saturday the commercial terminal is busy, and a VIP terminal is listed for private clients. Useful when the trip is to the Savoie resorts and Annecy is only a stop, or when Meythet and Geneva are both full. We confirm customs and handling for the date before quoting |
| Grenoble Alpes Isère GNB / LFLS |
The far side of the range: a 3,050 m by 45 m runway with an instrument landing system on runway 09, in the commune of Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs, and Grenoble city is 107 km from Annecy. Customs is available by prior notice, 24 hours on weekdays and 48 at weekends, handling is compulsory above 3 tonnes, and the tower works from early morning to the evening. A sensible landing for the Isère resorts, not an alternative for Annecy |
Four points settle most Annecy arrivals:
Choose the airport by aircraft and hour
Meythet for a light or midsize jet that lands before early evening. Geneva for anything bigger, for a late arrival and for the winter weekends when Annecy limits who may use it. The two are 19 nautical miles apart, so the price of the flight hardly changes; the road is the real difference.
Hours, slots and handling
The tower is published as 08:00 to 18:00 UTC, with the summer shift one hour earlier in UTC, which is 09:00 to 19:00 local time all year. Instrument approaches are not allowed when it is shut, and extensions are possible for assisted flights by prior arrangement with the operator. On winter Saturdays, Sundays and some Fridays a facilitated schedule applies and the flight plan carries an authorisation number. Handling is compulsory for 3 tonnes and above.
Border and passport
France is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border on arrival. Annecy accepts international flights between 08:00 and 20:00 local time under conditions, and the operator has to be told 24 hours ahead. At Geneva the same checks happen in the Business Aviation Terminal. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport under ten years old and valid three months beyond departure.
Car and late nights
Give us the handler as well as the flight, because a driver told only airport may wait at the wrong door. The public bus does not run on Sundays or holidays, so a private car is the plan. After a late dinner on the lake, remember that the tower is closed: the aircraft leaves in daylight or from Geneva.

Border, passport and the French sector at Geneva
The first landing in the Schengen area is where passport control happens, and the choice of airport decides where that is. At Meythet it takes place with the border service and customs, who must be notified a day ahead through the operator. At Geneva it takes place in the Swiss terminal, and the road crossing into France follows. Geneva also has a French sector, a pier of the passenger terminal that exists under an agreement between France and the Canton of Geneva and is reached by road through the customs gate at Ferney-Voltaire. It serves airline passengers travelling between Geneva and France, and it does not help a London charter: a traveller arriving on an international flight cannot leave directly for France without passing through Switzerland first. For a private client the French sector is a curiosity, and the working route is the business aviation terminal and a car. First-time visitors to the Schengen area may be asked to register a photograph and fingerprints, a free step whose record stays valid for three years. For the way home, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure, and passengers who are neither British nor Irish citizens may need an electronic travel authorisation for the UK.

Landing permits, slots and the crew
A flight from London to Annecy is a plain point-to-point service, and the air services agreement between Britain and the European Union gives each side's operators the third and fourth freedom rights that such a flight needs. A standard charter therefore runs on the operator's usual authorisations. The permit question begins when the routing goes beyond a simple out and back: a British aircraft that carries passengers between two French points, or picks up in France for a third country, is outside those rights. In that case France runs a non-objection procedure for operators without an EU licence, with a request filed through its SAGA system at least two working days ahead and a short window in which European carriers may object. The operator files it and we track it.
What is specific to Annecy
– A prior-permission call for international arrivals, with 24 hours' notice to the operator, and a longer lead time for security services;
– Special operating requirements. The aerodrome entry applies them to all commercial flights by aeroplane. The pilot in command must have completed theory training on the arrival, missed approach and departure procedures, and night flying or operations with low cloud or poor visibility call for simulator or on-site training on the same category of aircraft. We ask for confirmation in writing before a quote is accepted;
– Slot facilitation on winter weekends. On Saturdays, Sundays and some Fridays from mid-December to mid-April, and on the first two days of January, flights need a coordinated authorisation number, requested through the airport manager. On those days the airfield may not be named as an alternate;
– Geneva works on slots too, and its busiest days are the winter weekends. We book the slot together with the aircraft rather than after it.
From the apron to the lake
Annecy is an old town of canals and arcades on the northern tip of a lake, and from Meythet you reach it in less time than it takes to read a briefing. Most of the distances that matter run outward, to the Aravis ski resorts, to Geneva and the Swiss border, and up the valley to Chamonix and Mont Blanc.

Flying to Annecy with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork is the part of a French trip that needs planning, and the flight is the easy bit: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector of about eighty minutes most simply sleep. The date on the health certificate is the detail that goes wrong, because the certificate is valid for only ten days for entry to the EU.

What France, as an EU country, asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before the animal travels;
- An Animal Health Certificate for each trip, issued by an Official Veterinarian and valid for ten days for entry to the EU. A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU;
- No more than five animals per traveller, presented at a travellers' point of entry, which for Annecy means the customs desk we notify a day ahead;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Annecy run
– France does not ask for tapeworm treatment on the way in, only Britain asks for it on the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Annecy or Geneva towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and a flight that moves by a day can move the window out of reach;
– The order of the chip and the vaccine matters. A vaccination given before the microchip does not count, and an animal that arrives without the right paperwork can be refused entry, so the certificate is checked line by line before the flight, not at the airfield;
– A lake holiday or a ski week with a dog is an ordinary booking. Settle the hotel, the chalet and any onward helicopter before the quote, because each one has to accept the animal separately.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the entry point and the paperwork on the way home, we confirm both in writing before the flight, and our managers check the position for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Annecy calendar: a ski winter, a film festival and a lake summer
Annecy has two busy seasons and a few sharp peaks between them. Winter belongs to the Aravis ski resorts, early summer to the animation film festival, and high summer to the lake. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a festival or ski weekend costs more
Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Annecy is well placed in it. What gets tight is the single runway, the small apron, the compulsory handling and the supply of good cars, all in the same days. A booking made a fortnight before the first weekend of August or a ski Saturday can still be done, but it may mean an aircraft positioned from Geneva or Lyon, and that costs more. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Annecy is one of the easier leisure airports to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Annecy price down
- Move the dates by a few days where you can. A Tuesday arrival in February avoids the facilitated weekends at Meythet and the coaches at Geneva;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits at Geneva, Lyon or Chambéry takes less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful part of the bill;
- Check whether Geneva works as well. On the same light jet from Biggin Hill, the sector to Geneva is priced about £200 lower than the one to Annecy. The difference is small, so let the hour of arrival and the size of the cabin decide, and then price the road.
Types of flights
Annecy produces a different mix from the city destinations we cover, because it is a lake town with a mountain behind it, a trade festival of its own and a border a short drive away.
- Winter sports parties for the Aravis and the Mont Blanc valley, with ski bags, children and a fixed Saturday, flown to Annecy, Geneva or Chambéry according to the aircraft and the hour;
- Animation industry travel in June, with studio teams, buyers and a market that sets the dates for them;
- Summer lake holidays, with villa weekends, boat charters and family groups that want to avoid the road from Geneva;
- Business visits to companies in the area, small teams, fixed times and a return the same evening;
- Trips that combine France and Switzerland, with Annecy at one end and Geneva or Sion at the other;
- Walking and climbing weekends around Chamonix, often with a helicopter transfer on the last stretch.
The day trip is the one to look at closely. Land a little after nine local time, leave before the tower closes in the early evening and you are back on the British side the same evening, with about eight hours on the ground. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. We quote it both ways, so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Annecy has a few strong patterns of demand that create them, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Annecy empty legs come from
– Ski weekends. Aircraft that bring a party to Annecy, Geneva or Chambéry on the Saturday often fly home empty on the Sunday, and that evening leg towards Britain is the one most often offered;
– The festival week in June. Studio delegations arrive on fixed dates, and the aircraft leave empty a day or two after the event ends, which produces outbound legs for a short period;
– The first weekend of August. Aircraft bring guests for the fireworks and go back to their bases on Sunday, and the short legs between Geneva, Lyon and Annecy can be cheap.
Because the Annecy corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag an Annecy match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
At Annecy a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The old town is small enough to cross on foot, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the lake, the Aravis ridges and the Mont Blanc valley. A helicopter operator is based at Meythet itself, so a machine is often on the field when you land.
the standard sightseeing trip over the lake and the mountains behind it, from the operator based at Meythetabout 1 hour

about 30 km by road, a short hop for a party that wants to ski from the first morningquoted per transfer
19 nautical miles in a straight line, for a party with a long-haul connection and no wish to take the roadabout 20 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. French mountain law forbids leisure drops by helicopter or light aircraft, which rules out heli-skiing, and a landing at a hotel or a chalet needs a site that is approved for it. We check the status of a lawn or a ridge before the quote is written, not after it;
– Weather sets the schedule. Cloud in the valleys and snow on the passes can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a mountain transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– Twin-engine machines are the sensible minimum on any route across high ground. For ski Saturdays and the first weekend of August, book the helicopter together with the jet or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for Alpine work, the wider H130 for scenic and chalet transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Annecy charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning on the lake and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Annecy and return, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 20 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground at Meythet a little after nine local time, at a table on the lakefront before ten and back at Biggin Hill in the evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the airfield rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. The return left comfortably before the tower closed.
SKI WEEKEND · THE HOLD BOOKED THE CABIN
Six people, six sets of ski kit and a Saturday
Farnborough - Annecy, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 20 min · 6 pax
Boots, skis and a week of winter clothes took the hold well beyond what a light jet carries comfortably, so the quote moved up a class for that reason and not for the seats. It was a winter Saturday, so the arrival slot was requested together with the aircraft, and the transfer to La Clusaz was booked from the same message.
FESTIVAL WEEK · FIXED DATES
A studio team for the June animation festival
London Luton - Annecy, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 25 min · 7 pax
The dates were set by the festival and not by the client. Seven people, laptops, drives of work in progress and a request for a car at the aircraft door. The booking went in six weeks ahead, the border service was told a day before the arrival, and the aircraft left Luton on time with nothing to explain.
LARGE CABIN · THE OTHER AIRPORT WON
A group of nine for a lakeside villa
London Luton - Geneva, Challenger 350, about 1 h 20 min · 9 pax
They had asked for Annecy because it is where the villa was. Nine passengers and their luggage meant a large-cabin jet, and a jet of that class belongs on the long Geneva runway rather than the short one at Meythet. We landed at Geneva, cleared Swiss control in the business terminal and arranged a car for the hour to the lake. The only cost was asking about the aircraft before choosing the airfield.
LAKE SUMMER · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a weekend in August
Southampton - Annecy, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 20 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING WEST
A jet already going your way
Annecy - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 20 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a ski party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday afternoon departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Annecy
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Annecy?
About 1 hour 20 to 25 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, and around 1 hour 20 minutes from Luton in a Phenom, covering roughly 420 to 438 nautical miles. From Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester allow between 1 hour 30 minutes and 1 hour 40 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours. France is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly after nine local time.
2How much does a private jet to Annecy cost?
From about £6,600 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, and £6,700 from London City or £7,100 in a Phenom from Luton. A midsize cabin runs £8,500 to £10,450 from the south and the north of England, and from Scotland allow £12,650 to £12,900. Winter weekends, the festival week in June and the first weekend of August price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use, Annecy or Geneva?
Annecy-Haute-Savoie-Mont Blanc (NCY / LFLP) for a light or midsize jet that lands before the tower closes in the early evening. It has one paved runway of 1,630 m, handling is compulsory for aircraft of 3 tonnes and above, and international arrivals need 24 hours' notice. Geneva (GVA / LSGG) is about 50 km away by road, with a 3,900 m runway and a business aviation terminal with its own immigration and customs. Use it for a large cabin, a late arrival or a winter Saturday. On the same light jet from Biggin Hill the two sectors differ in price by only about £200.
4Do I need a visa, a landing permit or customs clearance for Annecy?
Britain is outside Schengen and France is inside it, so you clear passport control and customs on arrival. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport under ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure, and a first-time visitor may be asked to register a photograph and fingerprints. A London to Annecy charter is a plain point-to-point flight covered by the air services agreement, so it does not need a special landing permit; a routing that carries passengers between two French points does. The operator and our team handle the aircraft paperwork, including the 24 hours' notice to the airfield operator for customs.
5Can I fly on from Annecy to La Clusaz, Chamonix or Chambéry?
La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand are about 30 km from Annecy, roughly 30 minutes by car, so most ski parties drive. Chamonix is about 101 km away, and a helicopter transfer there is a sensible way to save the drive, provided the landing site is approved in advance. Chambéry is about 52 km by road and Lyon Bron 52 nautical miles by air, about 35 minutes in a Pilatus PC-12. Geneva is 19 nautical miles and not worth flying.
6Can I take my dog to Annecy on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and an EU country such as France asks for a microchip fitted before or with the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. A British pet passport cannot be used. France does not ask for a tapeworm treatment on the way in, but a dog needs one from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
