Private jet charter in Hong Kong
Hong Kong asks a British traveller for no visa and clears a private party in about a quarter of an hour, yet the cheapest way to get there from London still takes just under sixteen hours from wheels up to wheels down, with two fuel stops on the way. Private Jets UK plans the trip from the Hong Kong end backwards. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The territory has one airport and one business aviation terminal with a small apron, so before anyone discusses the cabin, the aircraft needs a landing permit from the Civil Aviation Department, a parking place and a runway slot, and the date is usually settled by those three and not by the flying.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter to Hong Kong depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Biggin Hill, a Bombardier Challenger 605 to Hong Kong International with two technical stops, in Baku and Almaty, and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Hong Kong?
Hong Kong keeps the same clock all year, eight hours ahead of Britain in winter and seven in summer, so a morning departure from a London airfield lands on the morning of the next day by the local clock. These are the sectors from London Biggin Hill on the lowest-priced aircraft that can fly them, gate to gate, with about an hour on the ground for every fuel stop:
6,047 nautical miles planned, 2 fuel stops, the lowest-priced aircraftabout 15 h 45 min
6,047 nautical miles planned, ultra-long-range cabinabout 12 h 25 min
6,047 nautical miles planned, large cabin landing once at Bakuabout 14 h 45 min
6,044 nautical miles planned, across the estuary, 15 minutes from Hong Kong by helicopterabout 15 h 45 min
6,027 nautical miles planned, the mainland side of the border, with a different permit processabout 15 h 45 min
5,973 nautical miles planned, the provincial capital, 47 minutes from Hong Kong by fast trainabout 15 h 35 min
Why the line on the map is not the route
The great-circle line from London to Hong Kong is about 5,200 nautical miles. Our aircraft do not fly it. The planned track bends south, over Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia, crosses the west of mainland China and comes down to the Pearl River estuary, which makes the sector 6,047 nautical miles as planned. Every state on the way has its own overflight rules, and the operator or its trip-support company applies for the permits with the passenger and crew details.
The same arithmetic fixes the stops. A Challenger 605 is rated at 4,000 nautical miles and we plan every leg at about 85 percent of a published range, which gives it legs of 2,397, 1,262 and 2,388 miles with landings at Baku and Almaty. A Falcon 900LX or a Gulfstream G450 manages with Baku alone, and a Gulfstream G650ER or a Global 7500 flies the 6,047 miles in one hop, although a full cabin or a headwind can still turn that into a stop on the day.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Hong Kong
Typical one-way prices from Britain, cheapest first. The Challenger 605 leads the table because it is the least expensive cabin that can make the trip at all, with two landings on the way, and the rows below it show what a stop saved or a bigger cabin costs. What these figures leave out
– The choice of aircraft moves the price far more than the choice of British airfield. From London Biggin Hill a Challenger 605 costs about £119,950, a Falcon 900LX with one stop about £148,900 and a Gulfstream G650ER without a stop about £191,650, so the step from two stops to none is about £71,700. Moving the departure from London Stansted to Edinburgh adds about £5,050 on a Gulfstream G450, which is small beside that;
– Landing and handling charges at the technical stops, the Hong Kong landing permit, parking at the business aviation apron and the airport charges are quoted on top. Hong Kong is a costly place to land a private jet, and a one-way price includes the empty flight home, since an aircraft that delivers a party across half the world seldom finds a passenger waiting to bring back.
Private jet flights from Hong Kong to its neighbours
Hong Kong has no domestic network. There is one airport, and every flight that leaves it crosses a border, even the 21 nautical miles to Macau or Shenzhen. The hops we are asked for most are the Pearl River Delta cities, Shanghai and Beijing, and three regional capitals, Taipei, Bangkok and Singapore, which sit 469, 947 and 1,441 nautical miles away:

Before you plan a loop around Hong Kong
– Hong Kong and the mainland run separate permit systems. A flight from Hong Kong into mainland China needs a Chinese landing permit for each airport, the aircraft documents approved before the permit is requested, and a lead time of seven to ten days, longer around the Chinese public holidays. The permits are written airport to airport, so a stop that is added later needs its own;
– Macau is different. It needs no approval from the mainland aviation authority, but it has its own permit and a separate immigration crossing, which is why it works as the alternate for Hong Kong when the weather over the delta turns bad. A flight to Taiwan, Thailand or Singapore carries the permits of those states, and we confirm the requirements for the date before a quote is final.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Hong Kong:
Long range and ultra-long range
The cabins that reach Hong Kong from Britain in one hop, or with a single stop in the case of the Global 6000 and the Gulfstream G550. After twelve hours aloft a flat bed and a quiet cabin are the reasons to pay more.
Large cabins
The right size for a party of ten with luggage, planned with one stop at Baku. The Challenger 605 is the lowest-priced aircraft we plan to Hong Kong, at the cost of a second landing at Almaty.
Super-midsize
Not for the journey from Britain, but the right size for the regional hops once you are in Asia, for example Hong Kong to Shanghai, Taipei or Bangkok.
Light jets
Useful only on the shortest sectors around the delta, such as Hong Kong to Macau or Shenzhen, where a helicopter or the road often wins on time.
Turboprops
Rarely relevant. Hong Kong is an airport for jets, and the nearest realistic turboprop sectors lie on the mainland, where the permit counts for more than the miles.

For a sector this long we look at aircraft positioned in the Gulf or in Asia as well as in Britain, so the dates should reach us while they can still move.

Business aviation airports in Hong Kong
There is only one airport in Hong Kong that takes a private jet from abroad, so the choice is between Hong Kong itself and the three fields around the delta that people use when Hong Kong is full or too dear. The first row of the table is where most of our flights go; the others matter when the date or the budget does not fit:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Hong Kong International HKG / VHHH |
about 25 km west of Central in a straight line, on the north coast of Lantau; about 45 minutes by road to the centre | Open round the clock, with customs, immigration and health clearance on duty throughout and no curfew. Every private flight is handled by the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre, the only business aviation terminal on the field, which also takes the fuel order and the catering order. There are three parallel runways of 3,800 by 60 metres, and business jets are given the southern one whenever traffic allows. The business aviation apron takes aircraft up to the size of an ACJ or a BBJ; when it is full, the aircraft goes to a remote stand and the party is driven to it by van, typically in 10 to 15 minutes. Fuel is Jet A-1 from the terminal's own trucks, not from the hydrant system, and handlers mention delays of up to an hour |
| Macau International MFM / VMMC |
about 5 km south-east of the city; about 15 minutes from Hong Kong by helicopter or 40 to 45 minutes by van to the Hong Kong airport | Listed as open round the clock, with a runway of about 3,360 metres, an airport of entry with customs and immigration, slots required and handling mandatory. TAG Aviation runs a business aviation terminal there that is staffed around the clock. It needs no approval from the mainland aviation authority, but it has its own permit and a separate immigration crossing, and costs for fuel, handling and permits are listed at roughly half the Hong Kong level |
| Shenzhen Bao'an SZX / ZGSZ |
32 km west-north-west of the centre; one to two hours from Hong Kong by road or ferry | Listed as an airport of entry open round the clock, with slots required and every flight by prior permission. Handling is listed as not mandatory. Three runways, the longest about 3,800 metres. It sits on the mainland side, so the full Chinese permit process applies, and it is a fallback when Hong Kong is full and not a way to save time |
| Guangzhou Baiyun CAN / ZGGG |
about 30 km north of the centre; roughly two hours or more from Hong Kong by road | Listed as open round the clock with customs, slots required and handling mandatory. A separate general aviation apron with its own customs hall is run by Universal Aviation. The same mainland permit process as Shenzhen applies, with busier slots and a longer way in from the airport |
Inside the Hong Kong terminal the facilities are few and well kept after the rebuild. There are two private suites for six to twelve people, a conference room for up to ten, a shower room, a lounge certified for Muslim travellers by Crescent Rating, and a 26-metre canopy that covers the walk from the building to the aircraft in the rain. There is no restaurant on site, only refreshments in the terminal, and the restaurants of Terminal 1 and Tung Chung are about 15 minutes away by car. Three hangars take aircraft up to the size of a Global 7500.
Three constraints shape every schedule into Hong Kong:
Three approvals, in this order
A landing permit from the Civil Aviation Department, a parking place on the airport authority's booking system and a runway slot from the schedule coordinator. The handler cannot land the aircraft without all three, and a denied parking request leaves only a drop-and-go.
A small apron
The business aviation ramp holds roughly twenty aircraft depending on size. Everything beyond that is parked on remote stands, which means a van transfer for the passengers and a tow for the aircraft, and the tow needs a brake rider.
Weather you plan around
Arrivals are flown on satellite-based procedures, windshear is a real hazard in strong wind, and winter is the easier season to fly in.
Where the aircraft waits
Parking can be requested up to 30 days ahead through the airport authority's portal with the tail number, type, size and schedule. A stay of six hours or less is approved automatically, parking for anything longer has to be confirmed before landing, and an aircraft that arrives without it can only drop its passengers and leave. Crews are advised to be at the aircraft at least two hours before departure, because a crew that turns up 40 minutes before the slot can leave late. An aircraft that must wait for days is often sent to Macau.
Arriving from Britain: passports, permits and what to leave at home
A British passport holder walks in without a visa, the aircraft needs three permissions in its own name, and the bags are checked as thoroughly as in any large port. None of it is hard, but the lead times are real.
British citizens may stay for up to 6 months without a visa. Work, study and longer stays need a visa arranged beforehand, and none is issued on arrivalup to 6 months
Valid for at least one month after the day you plan to leave Hong Kong. A British National (Overseas) passport is not accepted for immigration clearance, so those travellers carry an ordinary British passportevery passenger
Customs officers are on site whenever flights operate, and immigration usually takes 5 to 15 minutes depending on the number of passengers and their documents. Arrival and departure cards are not usedat the terminal
E-cigarettes, heated tobacco and similar devices cannot be brought in, including in luggage, and all CBD products count as dangerous drugs. Dutiable goods such as liquor and tobacco above the allowance are declaredcheck the bags
A yellow fever certificate is needed if you arrive from a country with a risk of transmissionif asked
The approvals behind every arrival
The landing permit. The Civil Aviation Department takes the application through its electronic filing system, and the terminal asks for it at least three working days before arrival or departure. A new or infrequent operator should allow two weeks. The department processes permits on weekdays from 09:00 to 18:00 local time and is closed at weekends and on public holidays, when only short-notice permits can be handled through air traffic control. The insurance certificate must carry the wording and currency the department asks for or the permit is rejected.
The runway slot. It is requested through the coordination system up to 14 calendar days ahead, and for days 15 to 30 the Civil Aviation Department is approached directly. A flight is expected to keep to its slot within a window of about two hours either way, and a slot that is used badly carries penalty points. The tightest periods are Chinese New Year, Christmas and Easter.
The passenger data. Fines of up to HK$100,000, about £10,000, per violation apply to missing, inaccurate or misleading advance passenger data, and a traveller who receives a 'no board' reply cannot fly until the immigration command centre has cleared it.
Catering is ordered through the terminal. Raw meat is restricted on import, while fruit, vegetables and raw fish are not, and the handler can hold catering in storage for a fee, though some items cannot be kept. A crew on a short layover usually stays at the Sheraton in Tung Chung, and the trip into the city by taxi or ride-hailing takes about 45 minutes.
A Hong Kong stay carries no permission to cross into the mainland, which has its own visa rules. Coming home is a flight into Britain, which means a General Aviation Report to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure. British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and British citizens carry a valid British passport or a certificate of entitlement.

Which airport for which part of the Hong Kong region
Hong Kong itself is simple, because there is only the one airport. The questions are where in the city you are going, and whether Hong Kong is the right door to the delta at all:
about 45 minutes by road from the terminal; the Airport Express train covers 24 minutes between the airport and Hong Kong station in CentralHong Kong International
the same approach by road or rail, and a charter helicopter can leave from the rooftop helipad of the Peninsula hotel and land at the terminalHong Kong International
the airport sits on Lantau itself, and the crew hotel at Tung Chung is the closest place to sleepHong Kong International
about 15 minutes by helicopter, or 40 to 45 minutes by van to the Hong Kong airport; the bridge is 55 km long and takes about 40 minutes to crossMacau International
one to two hours from Hong Kong by road or ferry, and the Chinese permit process applies to the aircraftShenzhen Bao'an
142 km from Hong Kong, covered by the fast train in as little as 47 minutes, with the busier airport and the longest way in from the fieldGuangzhou Baiyun
Hong Kong: what our clients go for
Business is the first reason. About 7.5 million people live on 1,114 square kilometres of land, and the territory's stock exchange is one of the five largest in the world, so a meeting in Central is often the whole point of the trip, and the aircraft is booked around it.
Racing is the second. The season at Happy Valley and Sha Tin returns in September after the summer break, and the December international races at Sha Tin draw owners and guests from several continents for a week of gala dinners and trackside breakfasts that ends with race day at the course.
Many parties treat Hong Kong as a base. The stadium at Kai Tak seats about 50,000 for the rugby sevens, Macau is a helicopter hop or a bridge crossing away, and the mainland cities of the delta are an hour or two by train, so the long flight from London is made once and the rest of the loop is done on the ground.
Typhoons, summer storms and a cool winter
Hong Kong is subtropical, and for an aircraft the month matters more than the address:
cool and sunny, with a January mean of about 16.5 degrees; the easiest months to fly in, and the busiest around Chinese New Yearcool and dry
the hottest and most humid months, with a July mean of about 28.9 degrees, fast thunderstorms and the lightning rules at the airporthot and stormy
the months in which tropical cyclones are most frequent; warning signals can be raised from April to December, and on average a little over one cyclone a year is serious enough for signal No. 8 or highertyphoon peak
warm and less humid, with the golf open and the music festival in townclear
What a typhoon does to a private flight
Local operators fly their aircraft out of Hong Kong ahead of a typhoon, and a visiting aircraft is moved too, usually to Macau or further away, which is one more reason to keep a buffer in the summer schedule. If the weather closes the airport and an aircraft diverts to a mainland field without a permit or customs approval, passengers are unlikely to be allowed off and wait on the ground until the aircraft can return. A lightning alert at the airport stops passengers boarding or leaving the aircraft: at amber, with strikes expected within 5 km, non-essential apron work is suspended, and at red, within 1 km, baggage handling and shuttle buses stop as well.
The Hong Kong calendar: new year, art week, a rugby weekend and the December races
The dates below move the price and the parking more than anything else in the year, and each pulls on a different part of the city:
What a Hong Kong event does to a flight plan
A big week limits hotel rooms as well as slots and parking. The aircraft that brought you may have nowhere to stay, so it is positioned to Macau or elsewhere and called back for the return, at a cost agreed before the price is. We ask for parking as soon as the dates are fixed.

Flying to Hong Kong with a dog or a cat
Hong Kong admits dogs and cats on a permit, and Britain sits in the group of places with the lightest terms, which keeps the file shorter than for most of Asia. The way home is also the easy kind, because Hong Kong is on the list from which Britain accepts a pet on the simpler terms.
What Hong Kong asks for on the way in
A special permit from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has to be in hand before the animal travels. The department says processing takes at least three working days, asks applicants to allow for the post, and warns that the final travel plans should not be made until the permit is granted. It is valid for six months and for one consignment only. Dogs and cats coming directly from Britain are normally exempt from quarantine if every condition of the permit is met.
The published terms ask for a microchip that meets the international standard, a health certificate signed by a government vet or endorsed by one and dated no more than 14 days before export, vaccination certificates, a rabies vaccination for dogs of five months and over, and proof that the animal has lived in its country of origin for 180 days or since birth. A dog of five months or over also needs a Hong Kong dog licence on arrival, and the pit bull terrier, the Japanese tosa, the dogo argentino, the fila brasileiro and their crosses may not be imported.
An animal that arrives without the right papers can be sent back or held in quarantine for at least four months at the owner's cost. The terms we have read were written for animals carried as airline cargo, so how they apply to an owner's pet on a private aircraft is something we settle with the department in writing before the animal is booked.
The business aviation terminal takes pets with at least two working days' notice and can handle up to 30 animals on one flight. The animal stays in an escape-proof carrier throughout, it is never walked on a lead in the lounge or on the ramp, and the owner stays with it through the inspection by the department and any quarantine, waiting in a private room of the terminal.
Coming home, Britain asks for less than it does for unlisted countries. A pet from Hong Kong needs:
- A Great Britain pet health certificate issued within 10 days of travel, because neither a pet passport nor an animal health certificate is accepted from Hong Kong;
- A rabies vaccination, followed by a wait of 21 days after the primary course before the animal may travel;
- For a dog, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival in Britain;
- Quarantine for up to four months if the rules are not met.
The rabies blood test and the three-month wait that unlisted countries require do not apply. The animal stays aboard at the technical stops, and for a private flight we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
Other destinations, and the general rules for travelling with an animal on a private jet, are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a flight the operator has to make anyway, with the cabin vacant, and it is sold at a fraction of the charter price rather than flown for nothing. On a route as long as this one the saving is large in cash, and so are the conditions.
Why empty legs to Hong Kong are scarce
– A long sector is a big commitment for the operator, and Hong Kong parking is limited and costly, so the aircraft that delivers a party usually flies out again at once, to Macau or home. The leg that comes up most often is the westbound one;
– The cabin has to be in the right place on the right date: a leg out of Hong Kong suits a client in Hong Kong, and a match needs the right city as well as the right week;
– A landing permit and a runway slot belong to a date and an aircraft, so a leg that moves by a day moves the slot, and sometimes the permit with it.
Clients who offer a week in place of a day match most often, although the operator owns the date and a leg can vanish when the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. A selection of Hong Kong empty legs follows, at roughly 40 percent of a fresh charter:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| UK (London Biggin Hill) - Hong Kong | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £50,400 |
| Hong Kong - UK (London Luton) | Falcon 900LX | 12 seats | £62,750 |
| UK (London Stansted) - Hong Kong | Gulfstream G450 | 13 seats | £65,750 |
| Hong Kong - UK (London Biggin Hill) | Global 6000 | 13 seats | £68,250 |
| UK (Birmingham) - Hong Kong | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £72,400 |
| Hong Kong - UK (Manchester) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £72,750 |
| Hong Kong - UK (London Farnborough) | Gulfstream G650ER | 14 seats | £80,850 |
| UK (Edinburgh) - Hong Kong | Global 7500 | 14 seats | £89,550 |
Reading the empty-leg prices
– The price covers the whole aircraft, not a seat. A Gulfstream G550 from Hong Kong to Manchester with eight aboard comes to about £9,100 a head;
– What you give up is flexibility: the date, often the hour and sometimes the airport. The saving looks large only because the fresh charter it is measured against is large.

Helicopter charter
Helicopters matter in Hong Kong more than in most places, because the airport is on an island on the far side of the harbour, and because the shortest way to Macau is over the water. Two operators cover most of what clients ask for:
a charter for up to six passengers from the rooftop helipad of the Peninsula hotel in Kowloon to the business aviation terminal, arranged by the operator Heliservicesabout 15 minutes
between the heliport at the Hong Kong-Macau ferry terminal in Sheung Wan and the heliport at the Macau maritime terminal, run by Sky Shuttle in daytime hoursabout 15 minutes
both operators fly charters on request, and the Peninsula service lands at the Macau business aviation terminalabout 15 minutes
A helicopter is the answer to the first or last stretch of a trip, not to an intercity hop: it saves the road from the airport and puts the party on the doorstep of a hotel, but it needs a landing site agreed in advance and is booked together with the rest of the itinerary. In typhoon weather and strong wind the schedule gives way.

Hong Kong charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
The six trips below are typical jobs assembled from booking notes with the details changed, so none of them is one named client or one date.
HONG KONG · THE LOWEST-PRICED WAY IN
Two directors with a board meeting in Central
London Biggin Hill - Hong Kong, Challenger 605 via Baku and Almaty, about 15 h 45 min · 4 pax
They had taken for granted that only an ultra-long-range jet could do it. The Challenger 605 can, with landings at Baku and Almaty, and the bill came to far less than the Global 7500 they had in mind. In return they gave up a flat bed and about three extra hours.
HONG KONG · A PERMIT AND A WEEKEND
A client who decided on a Thursday
London Stansted - Hong Kong, Gulfstream G450 via Baku, about 14 h 30 min · 5 pax
The landing permit needs three working days and the Civil Aviation Department does not work at weekends, so a Thursday decision left no room for a missing document. The insurance certificate had to be reissued in the wording the department wants, and the permit arrived on the last afternoon it could.
MACAU · HALF THE BILL
A group going to the Macau side first
London Biggin Hill - Macau, Gulfstream G550 via Baku, about 13 h 40 min · 6 pax
Fuel, handling and permits in Macau cost roughly half what they do in Hong Kong, and the group had no meeting on the Hong Kong side until the second day. The helicopter across the water took about 15 minutes, and the aircraft stayed where parking was easy.
HONG KONG · NEW YEAR WEEK
A family timing the trip for the lunar new year
London Luton - Hong Kong, Falcon 900LX via Baku, about 14 h 50 min · 7 pax
Slots are tight in new year week, so the parking was requested a month ahead, the first day the system allows it, and the slot was fixed before the passengers had chosen their hotel. The aircraft left empty for Macau and came back for the return.
GUANGZHOU · THE FACTORY TOUR
Buyers who wanted the mainland and the harbour in one trip
London Biggin Hill - Hong Kong, Global 6000 via Baku, about 13 h 40 min · 6 pax
A mainland landing permit takes a week to ten days and then ties the aircraft to the airports named in it. The buyers landed in Hong Kong, spent a day there and took the fast train to Guangzhou, 47 minutes for 142 km, so the aircraft needed no mainland permit at all.
EMPTY LEG · HOMEWARD FROM HONG KONG
A flexible return after a long stay
Hong Kong - London Biggin Hill, Global 6000 empty leg, about 13 h 40 min · 5 pax
Offering a week in place of a date is what made this one work. The client paid about £68,250, roughly 40 percent of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector, and left when the aircraft was ready to leave.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Hong Kong
1Can a private jet fly from London to Hong Kong nonstop?
Yes, in an ultra-long-range cabin. A Gulfstream G650ER or a Bombardier Global 7500 can fly the planned 6,047 nautical miles without landing. A Gulfstream G550, a Global 6000, a Gulfstream G450 or a Falcon 900LX lands once, usually at Baku, and a Challenger 605 needs a second stop at Almaty. A full cabin or a headwind can still put a stop into the plan on the day.
2How long does a private jet take from the UK to Hong Kong?
About 12 hours 25 minutes nonstop in a G650ER, and about 15 hours 45 minutes in a Challenger 605 with stops at Baku and Almaty, including the time on the ground. Hong Kong keeps the same time all year, which puts it eight hours ahead of Britain in winter and seven in summer.
3How much does a private jet to Hong Kong cost?
From about £119,950 one way from London Biggin Hill on a Challenger 605 with stops at Baku and Almaty. A Falcon 900LX with one stop costs about £148,900, and the ultra-long-range jets that fly nonstop cost from about £191,650. Handling at the stops, the Hong Kong landing permit and parking are quoted on top, and an empty leg in the right direction costs roughly 40 percent of a fresh charter.
4What do passengers need to enter Hong Kong on a private flight?
British citizens may stay for up to 6 months without a visa. The passport must be valid for at least one month after the day you plan to leave, and a British National (Overseas) passport is not accepted for immigration clearance. Customs officers are at the terminal whenever flights operate and immigration usually takes 5 to 15 minutes. E-cigarettes and heated tobacco cannot be brought in, and the operator files advance passenger information for every passenger, 40 minutes before departure at the latest.
5Can my dog or cat travel with me to Hong Kong on a private jet?
Yes, with a special permit from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department obtained before the animal travels. Britain is in the group of places with the lightest terms, and dogs and cats coming directly from there are normally exempt from quarantine if the permit conditions are met. The animal needs a microchip, a health certificate dated within 14 days of export and the listed vaccinations. The terminal wants at least two working days' notice. Coming home, Hong Kong is a listed place, so a Great Britain pet health certificate, a 21-day wait after the rabies vaccination and, for dogs, a tapeworm treatment before arrival are enough.
6Which airport do private jets use in Hong Kong, and when is it open?
Hong Kong International, through the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre, which is the only business aviation terminal there and is open 24 hours a day. There is no curfew. Every flight needs a landing permit from the Civil Aviation Department, a runway slot and a parking place, and the permit takes at least three working days. Macau International is the usual alternate, about 15 minutes from Hong Kong by helicopter.
