Private jet charter in Murcia
The orchard reaches the ring road in Murcia, and a London jet gets there in about two and a half hours with three quite different trips waiting on the ground: a Baroque city that carries its images through the streets in Holy Week, the golf courses and the shallow lagoon around La Manga, and the Roman harbour of Cartagena half an hour down the motorway. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around whichever of those the trip is really for. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Murcia has two airports on the map and only one that matters: the airline airport at Corvera takes business jets, while the older San Javier field by the lagoon is an air force base. The rest of the planning is about a slot requested a day ahead, a handler that is compulsory, opening hours that end at night and a border check on arrival from Britain.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Murcia depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Farnborough, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Murcia?
From Farnborough a light jet takes 2 h 35 min, and Bristol or Cardiff in a Phenom is about ten minutes shorter. From the north of England count on 2 h 45 min or more, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow about 3 hours in a Challenger. Spain keeps Central European time, one hour ahead of Britain, so a departure at eight lands just before noon on the Murcia clock. The sectors run from 821 to 1,137 nautical miles, which is nonstop for every aircraft in the table. Each British field we use has its own line below.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave Farnborough at eight and the wheels touch down at Corvera before noon local time. The airport is about 24 km from the city, and from the apron to the cathedral square a car needs roughly 25 minutes. Add the flight, the short formalities at both ends and the drive, and a London breakfast turns into lunch on the Plaza de las Flores with the afternoon still ahead. For La Manga Club the car adds about half an hour instead.
Light jet or midsize: the question that comes up on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary luggage, take the light jet. At about 2 h 35 min a CJ3+ or a Phenom is comfortable, and a midsize cabin adds about £2,750 each way from Farnborough;
– Golf changes the arithmetic. Four players with a bag of clubs each, shoes and a week of clothes fill the hold of a light jet before the seats are taken, and we then quote a midsize aircraft beside the light one so that both figures are in front of you;
– The largest long-range types need a conversation first. Fire cover at Corvera is category 7, so for a Gulfstream G550 or a Global we check the category with the airport before the aircraft is offered.

Murcia as a base for the south-east, and why the near airports are not on the list
Alicante is only 41 nautical miles from Murcia, Almeria 86 and Valencia 110, which is why we do not list them as sectors: a car covers the first in about an hour, and the transfers at both ends eat most of what an aircraft saves. The air legs that earn their price start further out. Malaga and Madrid are short light-jet hops, and Madrid has a busy airport with slot control at the far end. Ibiza and Palma are 1 h 00 min and 1 h 20 min in a Pilatus PC-12, the aircraft we usually quote for the sea crossing because a jet cannot match its price on so short a leg. Marrakech takes a light jet about 1 h 45 min, and the Moroccan formalities are arranged separately from the Spanish ones.
Before you accept an onward quote from Murcia
– Whether the slot exists. Corvera asks for the airport slot before the flight plan is filed, and the times on the plan have to match it. We request the slot for the return leg at the same moment as for the outward one, not after;
– Whether the route is one booking. Murcia to Ibiza to Barcelona over a long weekend costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of repositioning to the south-east between each stop.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Murcia:
Light jets, and where most bookings land
Two and a half hours is comfortable in this class for four or five people. Every aircraft here reaches Murcia from Britain without a stop, so the money goes on the flying hour and not on range you will not use.
Midsize, for golf bags and longer stays
A golf party or a family heading for an apartment at La Manga brings far more than a weekend bag, and a midsize cabin also lets you stand up and work on a sector of this length.
Super-midsize and large
For a delegation travelling as one party, for a team that needs to work in the air, and for itineraries that carry on from Murcia to Madrid, Marrakech or beyond without turning round. Corvera has fire cover category 7, so the longest types are checked with the airport first.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the Balearic crossings and for short hops inside Spain: Ibiza and Palma are 1 h 00 min and 1 h 20 min in a turboprop, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large. The 3,000 m runway is far more than a turboprop needs.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a hotel on the lagoon, a golf resort or a scenic hour over the sandbar and the cape. A helicopter cannot land just anywhere in Spain, so the landing site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Aircraft for a Murcia booking often start from Alicante, Valencia, Madrid or Palma rather than from Murcia itself, so for a date outside a holiday week we can usually find one within an hour or two of the airport, and that is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Murcia
One airport is the real answer and three more are worth knowing before a quote arrives with one of them in it. Corvera is the only airport in the region we use for business jets, and it is quiet, has no hangar and sets its own slot rules, so it pays to know what the neighbours offer.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Region of Murcia International (Corvera) RMU / LEMI |
The airport for the city, La Manga, Cartagena, Lorca and Caravaca. It lies about 24 km south of the city of Murcia at 196 m above sea level and is run by an Aena concession company, with direct access to the A-30 motorway between Murcia and Cartagena. The single runway 05/23 is 3,000 m by 45 m of asphalt, with a category I instrument landing system on runway 23 and a VOR/DME beacon. Fire cover is category 7. Jet A-1 is the only fuel listed. There is no hangar, no repair shop and no de-icing, and the airport has no hotel and no medical facility; the terminal has a restaurant, taxis and car hire. Handling is mandatory for general and commercial aviation, and the official aeronautical publication names two agents: Aircity Classic, listed for general and executive aviation, and South Europe Ground Services. A general aviation flight must request an airport slot at least 24 hours before departure from its origin airport, and a flight whose times do not match the slot is not accepted |
| Murcia-San Javier MJV / LELC |
The older airport, on the shore of the Mar Menor about 42 km south-east of Murcia, and the one many guides still mention. Scheduled passenger flights moved to Corvera, and San Javier is an Air and Space Force base used chiefly for training aircraft, including the Patrulla Águila aerobatic team. The Spanish aeronautical publication still carries a joint civil and military entry, listing a 2,320 m runway and civil fuel and handling agents, but it restricts civil flights other than scheduled airlines through the middle of ordinary weekdays (about 08:15 to 15:00 local time), requires prior permission for customs and immigration and marks several items as not available to civil aircraft. We do not plan charters into it. Unless the base and the operator agree otherwise in writing, treat it as closed to business jets and use Corvera |
| Alicante-Elche ALC / LEAL |
The all-hours alternative and the better door in when the arrival is late. About 9 km south-west of Alicante, with a 3,000 m runway, customs and immigration open round the clock, fire cover of category 9 and no hangar. Business and general aviation flights need a prior slot, which can be requested no earlier than 15 days before the flight. Handling is mandatory, and the agents named for the field include Aviapartner Executive, General Aviation Service, United Aviation Services and Menzies Aviation. It is 41 nautical miles from Corvera and 73 km by road, with the centre of Murcia about 70 km away and La Manga Club about an hour, so we use it when Corvera is closed, when an arrival falls outside its hours or when the party is flying on to the Costa Blanca |
| Valencia VLC / LEVC |
A business aviation airport with a dedicated terminal run by ExecuJet, a 3,215 m runway and round-the-clock operation, and the sensible choice only when the trip really includes Valencia. It is 110 nautical miles from Murcia by air and a long drive by road, so it is not a way into the Murcia region. Handling is mandatory and general aviation needs a slot |
| Almeria LEI / LEAM |
The option to the south, 86 nautical miles away and about 218 km by road between the two airports. It has a 3,165 m runway and handling is compulsory, but it works to limited hours and has no hangar, so it suits a trip that is half Murcia and half Cabo de Gata and little else |
Four points settle most Murcia arrivals:
Slot first, handler second
Corvera will not accept a general aviation flight whose estimated times do not match its slot. The request goes to the airport operating centre at least 24 hours before departure from the origin airport, and it has to be in place before the flight plan is filed. Handling is compulsory as well, and the handler appears on the paperwork. We arrange both and tell you who will meet you.
Hours
The published aerodrome hours convert to about 07:30 to 22:30 local time on weekdays and about 08:30 to 22:30 on Saturdays and Sundays, with an extra hour possible on prior request to the airport. Nothing happens outside that window, so we plan the evening departure well inside it and keep Alicante in reserve for a late arrival.
Border and passport
Spain is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you are checked on arrival. Customs and immigration at Corvera are available by prior request, not on a standing rota, which is one more reason the timetable is fixed before the aircraft is booked.
What the airport lacks
A visiting jet stays on the apron: there is no hangar, no repair and no de-icing. De-icing is rarely the question in this climate, but a technical fault means the aircraft has to move to a maintenance base, so we ask the operator how that would be handled.

Border, passport and the way home
The border is a short formality at Corvera, and the handler looks after the arrangements. For a British passport the rules are two: it must have been issued less than ten years before the day you enter, and it must have at least three months left after the day you plan to leave the Schengen area. A stay of up to 90 days in any 180 needs no visa. On a first entry the Entry/Exit System may take a photograph and fingerprints, and an officer can ask for a return ticket, proof of funds and the address of your hotel or villa, so keep that confirmation on your phone.
The way home is where the planning is. Britain is outside Schengen, so passengers go through passport control and customs at the British airfield, and a General Aviation Report must be filed between 48 hours and 2 hours before departure. A mistake is expensive: £2,500 for a first landing at a non-regulated aerodrome and £2,000 for each passenger without permission. We file the report and name the airfield in the booking.

From the apron to the cathedral square
Corvera is in open country between the huerta and the coast, and every journey starts on the motorway. The distances below run from the airport, apart from the ones that need another airport as the starting point.
about 24 km north by road; the cathedral, the Salzillo Museum and the casino are all in the old centreabout 25 minutes

Where to stay: the hotels clients book
The choice runs between the old streets of Murcia, the waterfront of Cartagena and two golf resorts by the lagoon, and it is worth deciding before the aircraft because the resorts fill up in the golf weeks and the city hotels in Holy Week. The names below come from published guides, and availability should be confirmed before a flight is booked.

Flying to Murcia with a dog or a cat
A dog or a cat copes well with two and a half hours in the air, and on a private flight the animal stays in the cabin with you. Spain is not a difficult country for pets. The risk is the paperwork and its dates, because the health certificate has only a ten-day life.

What Spain asks for on arrival:
- A microchip, implanted before the rabies vaccination or at the same appointment, not afterwards;
- A rabies vaccination given from the age of 12 weeks, followed by a wait of 21 days before the animal enters Spain;
- An Animal Health Certificate signed by an Official Veterinarian. It is valid for ten days for entry to the EU, and for the way back to Britain it is used as the certificate itself states;
- No more than five animals for each traveller, and entry through a travellers' point of entry, which the handler arranges at Corvera;
- A British pet passport does not work for the EU, so every trip needs its own certificate.
The return to Britain, and what catches owners out
– Dogs need a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival in Britain, with the product, date and time recorded. Cats do not. On a trip based at La Manga that means a vet appointment on the last full day, in Cartagena or at the resort, and not a job for the morning of the flight;
– A pet travel document and a declaration go with the animal. An animal that does not meet the rules can face quarantine of up to four months, and we check every document before the aircraft is booked;
– A private flight into Britain has no published approved-route text of its own for pets, so we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight. Hotels and golf resorts differ widely on animals, and a helicopter operator has to agree separately.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Murcia calendar: winter sun, Holy Week and the spring fiestas
Murcia has a handful of dated peaks and long quiet stretches between them. The dates matter more than the season, because the same week decides the aircraft, the hotel and the table in the old town.
Why the busy weeks cost more
Not the flying. A jet for Murcia usually comes from Alicante, Valencia, Madrid or further afield, so a peak week means fewer aircraft to choose from, but the real shortage is rooms and the slot. Holy Week, the Spring Fiestas and the Cartagena festival bring Spanish visitors who book early, and the Corvera slot has to be requested at least a day ahead for each leg whatever the season. Outside those weeks Murcia is one of the easier Spanish airports to charter into, and a flight can often be arranged in a day or two. The golf weeks add their own pressure on the resort: tee times, not aircraft, decide the dates.
Murcia itself: the cathedral, the Salzillo Museum and the casino
The city was founded in the ninth century by Abd ar-Rahman II as Madinat Mursiyah and now has about 470,000 inhabitants, which makes it the seventh-largest city in Spain. It sits on the Segura river in the middle of the huerta, the fertile plain that gives it the nickname of Europe's orchard. The sights are compact enough for a day on foot.
The cathedral on the Plaza Cardenal Belluga was begun in the late fourteenth century, finished in the following century and given a Baroque main front by the Valencian architect Jaume Bort. Inside it is mostly Gothic, with the Junterones chapel counted among the major works of the Spanish Renaissance. The bell tower is about 90 m high and is described as the tallest in Spain. The heart and entrails of Alfonso X are buried under the main altar, at his own wish, as a gift to the city for its loyalty. On the same square stand the eighteenth-century Bishop's Palace and the town hall extension by Rafael Moneo. In the old centre the Salzillo Museum keeps the work of the eighteenth-century sculptor behind the Holy Week thrones, and on Calle Trapería the Real Casino, a social club of the nineteenth century with a Moorish-style patio. The Malecón, a pedestrian walk on the old flood bank of the river, and the cafes of the Plaza de las Flores finish the circuit.
The huerta on the plate: what to eat in Murcia
Murcia cooks what grows on its own plain, and the dishes are plain too, with a Moorish note in the pastry and the spices.
- Zarangollo. Courgette, onion and potato sauteed and scrambled with egg, usually served as a tapa;
- Michirones. A stew of broad beans with chorizo, bacon and ham on the bone, which in the Cartagena countryside also takes potatoes;
- Pastel de carne. Puff pastry filled with minced beef, chorizo, ham, bacon, peppers and hard-boiled egg, baked until golden and held up as one of the clearest Moorish traces in the local kitchen;
- Marineras. A folded breadstick topped with Russian salad and a salted anchovy, the standard bar snack;
- Caldero del Mar Menor. Rice cooked in a fish stock with the dried red peppers called ñoras, the dish of the lagoon coast, traditionally made with rockfish;
- Paparajotes. Lemon leaves dipped in a light batter, fried and dusted with sugar and cinnamon. The leaves are not eaten.
The wine country is inland: the vineyards of Jumilla, Yecla and Bullas are within an easy day trip from the city. In Spring Fiesta week the stalls serve several of the dishes above, so a table is rarely the hard part.
The Mar Menor and La Manga: lagoon, golf and the sandbar
The Mar Menor is the largest lagoon in Spain, about 135 square kilometres of warm, shallow, salty water that is no deeper than 7 m, with some 70 km of shore. A sandbar called La Manga, about 22 km long and from 100 m to 1,200 m wide, separates it from the Mediterranean, so a town on that strip has a calm beach on one side and an open sea on the other. The lagoon is a Ramsar wetland and a protected bird area, and the salt flats at its northern end are run as a natural park. The water has had its troubles: farm run-off has caused algae and fish die-offs, and the state of the lagoon varies by season, so we suggest checking before planning a day built around the water.
La Manga Club is the reason many private clients come. The resort covers roughly 450 hectares between the lagoon and the Mediterranean, with three 18-hole courses called North, South and West, a five-star hotel, 28 tennis courts, football pitches that national squads have used for training camps, and the Spanish Open golf among its past events. It is about 30 minutes from Corvera and about an hour from Alicante. For a golf party the arithmetic is simple: a light jet on a Friday, tee times on Saturday, and a return on Monday. Our calculation allows for the clubs in the hold and the transfer from the apron to the first tee.
Cabo de Palos and Calblanque: diving and the empty beaches
Cabo de Palos is the lagoon's south-eastern corner, a headland of old volcanic hills with a nineteenth-century lighthouse, and it is one of the best-known diving places in Spain. The marine reserve of Cabo de Palos and the Islas Hormigas protects the water around a group of rocky islets. Recreational diving inside it is allowed only through authorised dive centres and there is a daily quota of divers, so the dives are booked ahead, not on the day. Divers go for the seamounts called Bajo de Dentro and Bajo de Fuera and the Piles pinnacles, for dusky groupers that live there all year and for barracuda schools in summer. Two wrecks draw the others: the Naranjito, a merchant vessel that lies largely intact, and the Italian steamer Sirio, lost near the islets in a disaster of the early twentieth century. Beyond the cape the Calblanque natural park, in the south-east of the municipality of Cartagena, keeps long beaches without hotels.
Cartagena: the Roman theatre, the port and the arsenal
Cartagena is under half an hour from the airport and is the best day out in the region. Hasdrubal refounded the town in the third century BC as a Carthaginian city, and Scipio Africanus took it from Carthage about two decades later and renamed it Carthago Nova. The Roman theatre, built in the time of Augustus for about 6,000 spectators, was rediscovered in the old town and excavated over many years; the museum and the restoration are by Rafael Moneo, and the route climbs from the harbour level through the exhibition rooms up to the stage and the stands. The city is also a Spanish Navy base with a large naval shipyard, and it has the national museum of maritime archaeology, known as Arqva. The Naval Museum holds the submarine of Isaac Peral, a Cartagena man, launched in the nineteenth century. Under Concepción Hill a network of galleries served as air-raid shelters in the Civil War and is now a museum. Cartagena Holy Week is known for its discipline, which reflects the naval tradition, and the September festival re-stages the Punic Wars and the Roman conquest.
The city has about 219,000 inhabitants and is second in size in the region. The A-30 motorway links it to Murcia and passes the airport, which is why many clients treat Cartagena as a lunch stop on the way to La Manga.
Caravaca de la Cruz and Lorca: the two inland towns
Caravaca is the pilgrimage town of the region, about 800 m up in the north-west corner. The basilica of the Vera Cruz, beside a castle that the Templars built in the thirteenth century, keeps the Cross of Caravaca, which Christian tradition holds may be a fragment of the True Cross. The town has held a papal privilege to celebrate a jubilee year every seven years, and is counted as a holy city for Catholics. For clients this is mainly a first-week-of-May trip: the fiestas run from 1 to 5 May, with the Wine Horses on the 2nd and the Moors and Christians on the 4th, and a day outside the festival is calm. Allow about an hour from Corvera by car.
Lorca, about 70 km south-west of the airport, is the town of the blue and white Holy Week brotherhoods, who compete with richly embroidered cloaks, some up to 5 m long. It has a Baroque old town with the Palacio de Guevara and the collegiate church of San Patricio on the Plaza de España, a castle on the hill that goes back to the Moorish period and a Roman milepost from the reign of Augustus on Calle de la Corredera, the trace of the Roman settlement of Eliocroca. Together with Murcia it makes a tight three-day Holy Week itinerary for anyone who wants to see two different traditions.
Which base: Murcia, La Manga or Cartagena
Choose the base before the aircraft, because the bases are half an hour or more apart and attract different parties.
- La Manga Club. A resort in its own right, about 30 minutes from the airport. The right base for golf groups, tennis and families who want everything on one site, and the one where the weeks matter most;
- Murcia city. Baroque squares, tapas and Holy Week, about 25 minutes from the airport. The right base for a long weekend about food and sightseeing, and for the Spring Fiestas;
- Cartagena. Roman remains and the harbour, 30 km from the airport, with the beaches of Calblanque inside the same municipality;
- Cabo de Palos. A village at the cape with a lighthouse, the base for divers who want to be at the dive centre by morning.
Ways to bring the Murcia price down
- Avoid the week of Easter and the Cartagena festival where you can. Mid-week in January, February and November is calm, the weather is mild and the hotels have rooms;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Alicante, Valencia or Madrid needs less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a real share of the bill;
- Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved buys the extra round of golf.
Types of flights
Murcia produces a different mix from Marbella or Ibiza. It is a place to play golf, to dive, to eat and to see processions, and the bookings reflect it.
- Golf weekends and week-long breaks at La Manga Club, flown out on a Thursday or Friday and back at the start of the week;
- Winter stays of several weeks, when the aircraft is booked for the arrival and the departure only;
- Holy Week in Murcia, often combined with Lorca;
- Cartagena culture breaks, built around the Roman theatre and the September festival;
- Diving trips to Cabo de Palos, with cases of equipment in the hold;
- Training camps and team travel, using the resort pitches and courts;
- Day trips from London, which at about two and a half hours each way make a long but workable day for Murcia cathedral and a late lunch.
The day trip deserves a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and the waiting is paid for, but it comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. The catch is the airport day: the return must leave inside the published hours, and we plan the evening departure well within them so that a long dinner does not decide the outcome.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Murcia corridor they follow the pattern of holidays and golf weeks, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Murcia empty legs come from
– Golf weekends. An aircraft brings a party in on a Friday and leaves empty, so the leg back towards Britain on the Sunday or Monday is the one most often offered;
– Holy Week and the spring fiestas. A party flies in, the jet returns to its base or moves to the next job without anyone aboard, and the repositioning leg is released a day or two beforehand;
– South-east rotation. Operators moving aircraft between Alicante, Valencia, Almeria and the islands produce short legs that can be cheap.
Because the Murcia corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Murcia match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Murcia a helicopter is a tool for the edges of the trip. The city is a short drive from the airport, and the journeys where rotary flight changes the day are the ones to a resort or a hotel on the lagoon, and the low scenic flight along the sandbar, the cape and the coast of Calblanque.
helicopters are treated like fixed-wing aircraft, cleared by air traffic control onto runway 05/23, and a landing area is designated at the airfield; there is no separate heliportcoordinated by the handler
about 47 km from the airport; a hotel lawn or a resort ground needs the site and the owner's permission agreed before the quoteon request
about 30 km from the airport, for a sightseeing day with a return to the aircraft in the eveningon request
a scenic flight along the sandbar and the cape, kept clear of the airport zone and the protected areason request
about 70 km and 90 km from the airport, for a day in the hill townson request
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter in Spain cannot land wherever it likes. A resort ground, a hotel lawn or a beach house needs its status confirmed before we quote, not after, and we do not promise a site until the operator has accepted it. The lagoon is a protected area, which narrows the choice further;
– Wind and visibility set the schedule. A helicopter can be stopped on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– The machines normally come from elsewhere in Spain, so a repositioning charge belongs in the budget, and for Holy Week and the festival weeks the helicopter should be booked together with the jet.
The machines used in this region are the Airbus H125 for short coastal work, the wider H130 for scenic and resort transfers, the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Murcia charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
GOLF WEEK · LA MANGA CLUB
Four players and a week on the three courses
Farnborough - Murcia and return, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 25 min each way · 4 pax
The party first asked for a light jet and then added four full golf bags and two cases of kit, so the quote moved to a midsize cabin. The transfer to the resort was set to meet the first tee time, and the return leg left well inside the Corvera closing time.
HOLY WEEK · MURCIA AND LORCA
A long weekend of processions
London Luton - Murcia, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 25 min · 6 pax
Rooms were held before the aircraft was priced, because the city hotels fill early. The party landed on Wednesday for the Coloraos, went to Lorca for the Friday processions and flew home on Sunday. The slot request for both legs went in together, a few days before the flight.
CARTAGENA · THE SEPTEMBER FESTIVAL
Two couples and a week around the Roman festival
Biggin Hill - Murcia, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 30 min · 4 pax
The clients wanted the Roman theatre early in the morning and the evening parades, so the base was a hotel in the old town and the car met them on the apron. The date of the festival drove the booking more than the price of the aircraft.
WINTER · A DOG ON BOARD
Two adults and a spaniel in January
Southampton - Murcia, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 30 min · 2 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. The villa was checked for animals before the aircraft was booked. The dog took the cabin in its stride.
DIVING · CABO DE PALOS
A club trip to the marine reserve
Bristol - Murcia, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 25 min · 6 pax
The dives inside the reserve had to be booked with an authorised centre ahead of the flight, so the aircraft date followed the dive dates, not the other way round. Cases of diving kit went into the hold, and the group stayed in the village at the cape.
EMPTY LEG · MONDAY MORNING NORTH
A jet already going your way
Murcia - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h 25 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a golf party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Monday morning departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Murcia
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Murcia?
About 2 hours 30 minutes from Southampton and 2 hours 35 from Farnborough, Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, covering roughly 821 to 857 nautical miles. Bristol and Cardiff are about 2 hours 25 in a Phenom, Birmingham and Manchester 2 hours 35 to 2 hours 45, and Edinburgh or Glasgow about 3 hours in a Challenger. Murcia is one hour ahead of Britain, so a morning departure lands later on the clock than in the air.
2How much does a private jet to Murcia cost?
From about £11,300 one way on a light jet out of Southampton and £11,550 from Farnborough. An eight-seat Phenom runs £11,650 to £12,000 from Bristol, Cardiff and Luton, a midsize Citation XLS+ £15,350 to £16,200 from Birmingham and Manchester, and from Scotland allow about £23,000. Holy Week, the week after Easter and the Cartagena festival run above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Murcia?
Region of Murcia International at Corvera (RMU / LEMI) for almost every trip. It is about 24 km south of the city, has a single 3,000 m runway, and handling is compulsory. General aviation needs a slot requested at least 24 hours before departure, and customs and immigration are by prior request. The old San Javier airport (MJV / LELC) is an air force base with restricted civil use, and we do not plan charters into it. Alicante (ALC / LEAL), open round the clock and about 73 km from Corvera by road, is the usual alternative.
4How far is Murcia airport from La Manga, Cartagena and Lorca?
La Manga Club is about 47 km and 30 minutes from the airport, Cartagena about 30 km and 25 minutes, Lorca about 70 km and 50 minutes and Caravaca de la Cruz about 90 km and an hour. The centre of Murcia is about 24 km away, and Alicante airport is about an hour from La Manga Club.
5When should I book a private jet to Murcia?
Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. Allow several weeks for Holy Week, the week after Easter, the Caravaca fiestas in early May and the Cartagena festival in September, and book the hotel first, because the resorts and the city hotels fill early. The Corvera slot has to be requested at least 24 hours before departure for each leg, and we confirm the handler before sending a price.
6Can I take my dog to Murcia on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and Spain asks for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
