Private jet charter in Florence

From a London airfield Florence is two hours away by light jet, and the unusual part of the trip is the last few kilometres: Peretola sits about five kilometres from the Duomo, on a runway short enough to decide which aircraft you can bring. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around that fact. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Florence rewards a little homework. The airport takes light and midsize jets comfortably, asks for permission on every single flight and works to slots, while Pisa, an hour and twenty minutes away by road, takes everything else. Choosing between them is most of the job.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Florence depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Florence?

Two hours or a little more from the London fields in a light jet, two and three-quarter hours from Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference on arrival, because Italy keeps Central European time. At 660 to 980 nautical miles this is a standard short-haul sector, and the aircraft types in the table are the ones that suit Peretola rather than the largest we could fly. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at Peretola a little after ten local time. The Italy FBO terminal is on the airport itself, the Duomo is about five kilometres away, and a car covers it in roughly 15 minutes; a client who left a London office at half past six can be in a Florence meeting room before lunch. The T2 tram from the airport takes about 20 minutes to the city centre, but a private party goes by car or by the fixed-fare taxi, which is around £25. Even with the drive to the British airfield, the whole journey from central London to central Florence is a morning.

Light jet or midsize: the question that actually comes up on this route

– Up to about four people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer here and the one that fits the airport best. A CJ3+ or Phenom 300E has the performance for a runway of about 1,560 m and costs noticeably less per hour than a midsize cabin;

– Past four people, or with samples, trade-fair stands or a dog, we quote a midsize jet alongside the light one so you see both numbers. At Peretola a midsize jet is still comfortable, and it is the usual choice from Scotland, where the sector is longer;

– Heavy aircraft do not belong at Florence. The airport is described as taking aircraft up to the size of an Airbus A320neo, and crews of anything large look at Pisa, 36 nautical miles away, with a main runway of about 3,000 m.

Tuscany from the air: why the nearest airport is not always the right one

Pisa is only about 36 nautical miles from Florence, so nobody flies between the two, but it is the airport that decides a lot of Florence bookings. Peretola is a few kilometres from the old town and about 15 minutes by car, against some 85 km and an hour and twenty minutes from Pisa. The price of that convenience is a single runway of about 1,560 m, and a published landing distance of about 1,455 m on runway 05. Aircraft normally depart towards runway 23 because of Monte Morello behind the airport, which means backtracking along the runway, and every flight needs prior permission. The airport is slot-coordinated and handling is compulsory. For a light or midsize jet with a city meeting, Peretola wins easily. For a big cabin, or a day when the weather is poor, Pisa is the answer.

Before you accept a Tuscan onward quote

– Which airport, and who can fly it. Siena has its own small airfield at Ampugnano, but it is a daylight strip with visual approaches, a restriction for turbojets on one runway direction, and not an airport of entry. Elba and Lucca are short strips too. A quote that ignores these is a quote that will change;

– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Florence to Elba for the weekend and back, or on to Olbia, costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of repositioning to Florence between each stop.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Turbopropsfrom £850/h
Small jet£1,700 - 2,500/h
Light jet£2,100 - 3,000/h

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Florence:

Light jets, and where most bookings land

At two hours or so this is the sensible class for four or five people with ordinary luggage, and the class that fits the Peretola runway with room to spare. The money goes on the hour rather than on capability you will not use.

HondaJet Elite · 5 seatsfrom £1,900/h
Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen2 · 8 seatsfrom £2,700/h

Midsize, for fashion samples and wine-case luggage

A week of fairs, rails of samples, golf bags and, on the way home, cases of Chianti. That luggage is what pushes a party past the light-jet hold, and it is the usual reason for the step up.

Learjet 75 Liberty · 8 seatsfrom £3,000/h
Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h

Super-midsize and large

Better suited to Pisa than Florence, because of the runway. For a delegation travelling as one party, for a team that needs to work in the air, and for trips that carry on to the Gulf or across the Atlantic, the aircraft lands at Pisa and the party continues by road or helicopter.

Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h
Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,350/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h
Gulfstream G450 · 13 seatsfrom £5,800/h

Turboprops

The right aircraft for the island and coast legs: Elba is under an hour in a turboprop, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large. Elba and Lucca are short strips, which also rules out most jets.

Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,650/h

Helicopters

Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a Chianti estate, a Val d'Orcia villa, a wedding venue with no runway. Where a helicopter may put down is regulated, so the site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Florence draws on the Italian fleet, so for a booking outside the Pitti weeks and the summer peak there is often a light or midsize jet already within an hour of Peretola, in Milan, Rome or Nice, and that is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Florence and Tuscany

Two airports matter for a Florence trip and the others are small. It helps to know all of them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.

Airport What it gives you
Florence Peretola, Amerigo Vespucci
FLR / LIRQ
The airport for a stay in the city, about 5 km north-north-west of the centre. One runway, 05/23, of about 1,560 m, so light and midsize jets rather than large cabins. It is an airport of entry with customs, but every flight needs prior permission, the airport is a coordinated level 3 slot airport and handling is compulsory. Italy FBO runs the general aviation terminal with a VIP lounge and a crew lounge
Pisa Galileo Galilei
PSA / LIRP
The answer for large cabins, for a Chianti or Siena trip, or when Peretola is closed or weather-bound. A main runway of about 3,000 m, an ILS, customs and a handler, about 85 km and an hour and twenty minutes from Florence by road. Airline briefings name it as the first diversion for Florence, 36 nautical miles away
Bologna Guglielmo Marconi
BLQ / LIPE
Named as the second diversion airport in airline briefings for Florence, about 44 nautical miles to the north on the far side of the Apennines. A fallback for crews, not a normal choice for passengers bound for Florence
Siena Ampugnano
LIQS
About 13 km south-west of Siena, with a runway of roughly 1,390 m. Listings show daylight operations only with 24 hours' notice, visual approaches and no landing on runway 18 for turbojets. Not an airport of entry, so a flight from Britain clears Italy elsewhere first. In practice a turboprop airfield
Grosseto Baccarini
GRS / LIRS
A joint civil and military field about 3 km west of the town, with a runway of roughly 3,000 m. Airport of entry, but listings show 24 hours' prior permission for all flights and no civil night operations. Useful for southern Tuscany and the Maremma, not for Florence
Elba, Marina di Campo
EBA / LIRJ
The island airfield, about 2 km from the town. A runway of roughly 940 m limits it to turboprops and small business jets, depending on load and weather. The busiest short sector from Florence in the summer months

Four points settle most Florence arrivals:

Permission on every flight

Peretola lists every flight as prior permission required and runs as a level 3 coordinated airport, so a slot and a permission are requested together with the booking and not the day before. The tower is staffed round the clock, but the airport's published hours are limited, with permission needed outside them.

Choose the handler

Handling is compulsory. Italy FBO operates the general aviation terminal at Via del Termine, with a VIP lounge and crew lounge, and Sky Services is listed as supervising agent. Broker listings name further handlers, so we ask the operator for its preference and put one name in the quote.

Border and passport

Italy is in Schengen and Britain is not, so passport control is done on arrival at the private jet terminal. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years ago and valid three months beyond departure. The return to Britain brings its own passport and customs checks.

Car, tram and the old town

Give us the handler as well as the flight, so the driver waits at the right door. The airport is about 15 minutes from the old town by road, and the centre has restricted traffic zones, so the hotel or the driver should confirm the drop-off before you land.

business aviation

Border, passport and where to clear

Clear Italy at the airport you land at, and the rest of the trip is inside Schengen with no further control. Florence is an airport of entry with customs, so an arrival from Britain is checked at the private jet terminal. Coming home it works in reverse. Britain is outside Schengen, so you clear passport control and customs again, and the General Aviation Report for the return is filed by us in the permitted window, not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure. A party with non-British passengers should check the electronic travel authorisation, which most visitors who need no visa must hold before they fly to the UK; British and Irish citizens are exempt.

passport and customs paperwork for a private jet flight

From the apron to the Duomo

Florence is compact, and the airport is close to it. Most of what a visitor wants lies either inside the old centre or in the hills around it, so the useful numbers are the short transfers into town and the longer ones out to Chianti, Siena and the coast.

Airport to the historic centre by car
about 5 km, the fixed taxi fare is around £25 before surcharges
about 15 minutes
Airport to the city by T2 tram
line T2 from Peretola Airport to San Marco University, with trams every few minutes; a private party usually goes by car
about 20 minutes
Airport to Siena by road
through the Chianti landscape on the expressway
about 1 h 05 min
Airport to Pisa Galileo Galilei
about 85 km, the other airport for larger aircraft
about 1 h 20 min
Helicopter, Florence to Chianti
estates and wineries with landing sites by arrangement
about 15 minutes
Helicopter, Florence to the Tyrrhenian coast
one of the quicker ways to a coast hotel on a summer weekend
about 35 minutes
Helicopter, Florence to the Val d'Orcia
Montalcino, Pienza and the hill villas, by arrangement
about 40 minutes

Flying to Florence with a dog or a cat

Italy asks for more paperwork than the flight takes, and the flight is short enough that most animals sleep through it. The animal sits beside you in the cabin. What matters is that the certificate is dated correctly, because it has a ten-day life from the day it is issued, and that the vet appointment for the return is booked before you leave Tuscany.

private flight with animals

What the EU rules ask for on the way in:

  • A microchip, fitted before or at the same time as the rabies vaccination and never after it;
  • A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before entry;
  • An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued for this trip and valid for ten days for entry to the EU;
  • A written declaration that the movement is non-commercial, signed by the owner;
  • No more than five animals per traveller, presented at a travellers' point of entry, which we confirm in writing together with the paperwork before the flight;
  • For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before the return flight to Britain, recorded in the pet travel document. Cats are exempt.

What catches owners out on the Florence run

– Italy asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, only before the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Florence, towards the end of the stay. Ask the hotel for a vet near the centre when you book, and allow for a departure time that falls inside the 24 to 120 hour window;

– A pet passport issued in England, Scotland or Wales cannot be used to enter the EU. The certificate has to be a fresh one for each trip, and the rabies vaccination has to stay in date for the return;

– A turboprop or helicopter leg to Elba or the hills is a separate decision. The operator of each aircraft has to agree to the animal, so settle it before the quote and not at the aircraft door.

Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Florence calendar: fashion, festivals and the summer peak

Florence has no off season for visitors, but the airport has a clear rhythm. The fashion weeks in January and June, Easter, the long summer from May to September and Christmas fill the permission system. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.

6 January and January
The Cavalcata dei Magi, the Epiphany procession on 6 January, opens the Florentine year, and in the same month Pitti Uomo fills the Fortezza da Basso with menswear buyers and brands for four days. Peretola's permission system is worth booking early for that week
Easter
Lo Scoppio del Carro on Easter Sunday, when a decorated cart is exploded in front of the cathedral. Easter is one of the busy private-flying weekends of the Florentine year, and hotels fill with it
Late April to early summer
The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the city's opera and music season, begins in late April and runs into the early summer. Evening arrivals, late dinners and next-day departures
June
The busiest month for events: the second Pitti Uomo of the year, the Firenze Rocks festival, the semi-finals of the Calcio Storico Fiorentino in the first half of the month and its final on 24 June, which is also the Feast of St John with fireworks at 10pm
June to August
The Estate Fiesolana, the summer festival in nearby Fiesole, and the long summer peak. Broker data put the demand peak between May and September, and summer slots at Peretola are limited
7 September
The Festa della Rificolona, the lantern procession on the eve of the Nativity of the Virgin. A smaller event than the June ones, in the quieter early autumn
Late November
The Florence Marathon, usually run at the end of November, and the start of the Christmas season. Winter weather can be foggy, and airline briefings flag fog from December to February, which is when crews look at Pisa
December
Christmas is another demand peak at Peretola. Families arrive for a few days in the city, and the quieter weeks are usually those after Pitti in January and in February

Why a Pitti or Calcio Storico week costs more

Not the flying. The Italian light and midsize fleet is large and Florence is well placed in it. What gets tight is Peretola itself, because a single short runway with level 3 slot coordination, mandatory handling and prior permission on every flight has no spare room. Cars, hotel rooms and ground transfers go in the same week. A booking made a fortnight before a Pitti week or the San Giovanni weekend can still be done, but it pays more and may use an aircraft positioned from Milan or Rome. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Florence is easy to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.

Ways to bring the Florence price down

  • Move the dates a few days where you can. The weeks after the Pitti fairs are calm, and so are February, the first half of October and early spring, when the weather is good and the festivals are not on;
  • Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Milan, Rome or Nice takes less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful share of the bill;
  • Choose the right aircraft for the airport. A light or midsize jet to Peretola is cheaper than a large jet to Pisa plus a car, a helicopter and an hour of road, unless the party is big enough to need the cabin.

Types of flights

Florence produces a different mix from the resort airports on the coast, because the city is a business and cultural destination as much as a leisure one, and the runway pushes the mix towards light and midsize cabins.

  • Fashion and trade trips for Pitti Uomo and the other fairs, usually with luggage that is heavier than the passenger count suggests;
  • Art, museum and weekend city breaks, often two or three people and a short stay;
  • Wine and villa weekends in Chianti and the Val d'Orcia, with a helicopter or a driver at the other end;
  • Events such as the Maggio Musicale evenings, the Calcio Storico and the Christmas season;
  • Island and coast hops from Florence to Elba, Sardinia and the Riviera, and loops that take in Milan or Rome;
  • Day trips from London, which at about two hours each way are a long day but a workable one.

The day trip is worth a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it usually still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Leaving at seven and coming back at nine in the evening gives you a working day in Florence and a bed in your own house, and on this route we quote it both ways so the difference is visible.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Florence route they come from the pattern of weekends and fairs, and it helps to know what produces them.

Where Florence empty legs come from

– Fair and festival weeks. When Pitti Uomo or a June event fills the city, aircraft arrive for one party and leave empty for the next, which produces legs in the days around it;

– Weekend city breaks. Aircraft bring parties to Florence on a Friday and go back to their bases on the Sunday, and that evening leg is the one most often offered;

– Island rotation. Through the summer operators move aircraft between Tuscany, Sardinia and the Riviera, and the short Italian legs between them can be cheap.

Because the Florence corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Florence match the day an operator releases it.

empty legs

Helicopter charter

In Tuscany a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. Florence itself is small enough to cross by car, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the hill country, the coast and the connection with other airports. It matters most for a party that cannot use Peretola with a larger jet.

Florence to Chianti
estates and wineries with landing sites by arrangement, against road transfers of an hour or more
about 15 minutes
Florence to the Tyrrhenian coast
a coast hotel in a morning instead of a day of motorway
about 35 minutes
Florence to the Val d'Orcia
Montalcino, Pienza and the villas of the hills
about 40 minutes
Pisa or Bologna to Florence
when a larger aircraft lands elsewhere and the party continues to the city by air
under 30 minutes
A sightseeing loop of the art cities
Florence, Siena and the Chianti ridge from the air, including the dome
by arrangement

Before you plan around a helicopter

– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. Landing at a villa, a winery or a hotel garden normally needs the site and its permission confirmed before we quote, not after;

– Weather sets the schedule. Low cloud and winter fog can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a hill transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;

– Over water or across high ground, twin-engine machines are the sensible minimum. For wedding Saturdays and the San Giovanni weekend, book the helicopter together with the jet or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.

The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for hill work, the wider H130 for scenic and villa transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Florence charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

FASHION WEEK · LIGHT LUGGAGE RULE

Two buyers and a rail of samples for Pitti

Farnborough - Florence, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 00 min · 3 pax

The client wanted the Fortezza da Basso and not a drive from Pisa, so we quoted Peretola. A Phenom is comfortable on a runway of about 1,560 m, and the permission and the slot were requested together with the booking. The samples went in the hold, not on a train.

DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK

A museum-quarter meeting and home for dinner

Biggin Hill - Florence and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 05 min each way · 3 pax

Wheels up at seven, on the ground at Peretola a little after ten local time, a car to the centre in a quarter of an hour and a working lunch by half past twelve. The aircraft and crew waited at the airport, which is a real line in the quote and usually still comes in below two separate one-way charters. Back at Biggin Hill in the evening.

SAN GIOVANNI · A HELICOPTER TO THE HILLS

A family for the Calcio Storico weekend

London Luton - Florence, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 05 min · 5 pax

They wanted to see the final from a hotel in the city and spend two days in a villa afterwards. The jet landed at Peretola, a car took the party to the hotel, and a helicopter was booked for the transfer to the hills on the Sunday, about 15 minutes in the air against a road journey of an hour or more.

EASTER · A MIDSIZE FOR THE HOLD

Eight people, golf bags and a week of family luggage

Birmingham - Florence, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 15 min · 8 pax

Two families, children, clubs and a pile of bags. The quote moved up a class for the hold and not for the seats. Two cars met the aircraft at the handler, and the permission for Peretola was in hand five weeks ahead, which is what the Easter weekend needs.

LARGE JET · THE OTHER AIRPORT

A party of eleven travelling together

Manchester - Pisa, Challenger 605, about 2 h 15 min · 11 pax + helicopter

The party was too large for a light or midsize cabin and the aircraft too heavy for Peretola, so we landed at Pisa, cleared customs there and sent the party on by road and by helicopter. One handler at the arrival airport and two cars, and the same day.

FLORENCE IN WINTER · A DOG ON BOARD

Four adults and a spaniel for a December weekend

Bristol - Florence, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 15 min · 4 pax + dog

The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Florence for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Florence

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Florence?

About 2 hours 5 to 10 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, and around 2 hours from Farnborough in a Phenom, covering roughly 660 to 700 nautical miles. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about 2 hours 15 to 2 hours 25, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 40 to 2 hours 45. Florence is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly after ten local time.

2How much does a private jet to Florence cost?

From about £9,450 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, and £9,900 from Luton on a Phenom. A midsize cabin runs £13,000 to £13,900 from Bristol, the Midlands and Manchester, and from Scotland allow £19,650 to £20,050. The Pitti weeks, the June festivals, the summer peak and the Easter and Christmas weekends price above these figures.

3Which airport should a private jet use for Florence?

Florence Peretola (FLR / LIRQ) for light and midsize jets: it is about 5 km from the centre, an airport of entry with customs, but its single runway is about 1,560 m, every flight needs prior permission, slots are coordinated and handling is compulsory. Pisa Galileo Galilei (PSA / LIRP), about 85 km and an hour and twenty minutes away, has a main runway of about 3,000 m and takes every aircraft type, so it suits large cabins.

4When should I book a private jet to Florence?

Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the Pitti Uomo weeks in January and June, Easter, the San Giovanni weekend in late June and the summer peak from May to September, allow four to six weeks. Permission, slots, handling and cars all get tight in the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from another country.

5Can I fly on from Florence to Elba, Siena or Chianti?

Yes. Elba is a short turboprop sector into a strip of roughly 940 m, and Olbia in Sardinia is within an hour in a light jet. The airfield at Siena is a small daylight strip with turbojet restrictions, so we clear customs at Florence and continue by road, about an hour, or by helicopter. A helicopter to Chianti takes about 15 minutes and is arranged together with the jet.

6Can I take my dog to Florence on a private jet?

Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and the EU rules ask for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old, an Animal Health Certificate issued for the trip and valid ten days for entry, and a non-commercial declaration. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
