Hire a Private Jet to or from Malaga

Private Jets UK runs charter flights down to Malaga all year, and unlike the islands off this coast the airport here rarely puts a limit on when you can come or how long the aircraft may stay. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The Costa del Sol keeps aircraft working through the winter as well as the summer, so the jet we quote is often one already operating in southern Spain or Portugal rather than one flown down from a British base. On a route with this much year-round traffic that shortens the positioning leg and shows up in the price.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Malaga depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on the following basis: departure from London Luton, an Embraer Legacy 600 and two passengers. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Malaga?

Two hours and twenty minutes from London, and around two and three quarters from Scotland. Malaga sits at the southern end of the Iberian peninsula, further than the Balearics but comfortably within reach of every jet class we operate, and the whole run is over land and the Bay of Biscay rather than across an ocean. Flying times from the fields we use most often:

Where the time actually goes on this trip

Unusually for a destination we cover, the flight is rarely the longest part of the journey. Ten to fifteen minutes gets you from the aircraft into central Malaga, but the Costa del Sol runs west for an hour beyond that: Marbella and the Golden Mile are forty to forty-five minutes, Puerto Banus a little more, Sotogrande and the Valderrama golf corridor around seventy. On a summer Friday afternoon add fifteen or twenty minutes to any of those. If your destination is at the western end of the coast, that ground leg deserves as much thought as the aircraft, and it is the reason we ask where you are actually staying before quoting anything.

Private jet flights from Malaga: Andalusia, Morocco and the coast

Being on the mainland rather than an island changes what is within reach. Granada, Seville and Jerez are twenty minutes away, Gibraltar barely fifteen, and Africa is closer than Madrid: Tangier is under half an hour and Marrakesh a little over an hour. A good share of what we arrange here is not the flight in from Britain but the short leg out of it.

Two things worth saying plainly about the short sectors

– A twenty-minute hop still costs several thousand euros, because you are paying for two sets of handling, a crew and a slot at each end rather than for distance. On Seville, Granada and Jerez the honest question is whether the two-hour drive is genuinely worse than the airport formalities at both ends. Often it is not, and we will say so;

– Morocco is a different matter. Tangier, Casablanca and Marrakesh involve a border rather than a drive, and the flight replaces a ferry or a long detour. This is where the short sector out of Malaga earns its money, and where most of our onward legs from here actually go.

Anywhere else in Iberia or North Africa is priced the same way. Where a trip takes in the coast and then continues to Morocco or the Balearics, tell us the whole plan at the enquiry stage: keeping one aircraft working across the itinerary costs materially less than booking each leg on its own.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6500 business jets (about 3500 in Europe and 3000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can’t post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. The following jets currently operate in Malaga:

Light jets

Where a couple or a small family lands. Two and a half hours does not need a bigger cabin, and on this route the saving over a midsize aircraft is real money rather than a rounding error.

HondaJet Elite · 5 seatsfrom £1,900/h
Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen2 · 8 seatsfrom £2,700/h

Midsize jets

The golf cabin. Four sets of clubs and a week of luggage fill a light jet hold before the last bag goes in, and this class is the usual answer between October and May.

Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £2,900/h
Learjet 75 Liberty · 8 seatsfrom £3,000/h
Hawker 900XP · 8 seatsfrom £3,300/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h

Super-midsize and large

For villa parties travelling as one group and for trips that carry on to Morocco or the Balearics afterwards. Also the class most often quoted around Easter and the New Year.

Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £3,700/h
Embraer Legacy 500 · 10 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,150/h
Embraer Legacy 650E · 13 seatsfrom £4,500/h

Turboprops

The value route from southern England, and no real penalty on a sector this length. Worth asking about on a quiet week when the difference in price outweighs the extra forty minutes.

Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 8 seatsfrom £1,300/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,500/h
Beechcraft King Air 250 · 7 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Piaggio P180 Avanti II · 8 seatsfrom £1,600/h

Business aviation airports in Malaga

Every private flight to the Costa del Sol lands at Malaga Costa del Sol Airport (AGP / LEMG), about eight kilometres from the city centre. It is the region’s only airport for both commercial and business aviation, and it is a notably easier field to operate into than the Balearic and Canary alternatives.

What the mainland gives you that the islands do not

Anyone who has tried to book Ibiza or Palma in August knows the routine: slots that cannot be requested more than a fortnight out, parking that may simply be refused, aircraft pushed off the ramp after three hours. Malaga is not like that. Slots are required, but they are normally issued within a working day or two whatever the season, the airport runs around the clock with no curfew, and there is no three-hour ground limit waiting for larger cabins. Handling is mandatory and arranged through the terminal, which in practice means passengers and crew are through the building in ten to fifteen minutes. On this coast the constraint sits on the motorway rather than on the apron.

business aviation

The general aviation terminal stands alongside the commercial one on the Carretera del Aeroclub, with its own lounges, crew facilities, customs and passport control inside the building and cars brought to the aircraft. Hangarage is available on request rather than as standard. Several established handlers operate here, and we choose between them on your dates rather than defaulting to one.

The one thing to plan around

The AP-7 on a summer Friday afternoon and a summer Saturday morning adds fifteen to twenty minutes to every figure above, sometimes more. It is the only reliable delay on this route, and it is entirely predictable, which means it can be planned around: an arrival before noon or after eight in the evening avoids it, and the airport being open around the clock makes both of those genuinely available. For Sotogrande or a villa in the hills, a helicopter from the apron removes the question altogether.

There is a border here, since Britain sits outside Schengen and Spain inside it, but on a private arrival the check happens in the general aviation building beside your aircraft rather than in a queue. No visa is needed on a British passport for a holiday or a short business visit.

A coast that works all twelve months

This is where Malaga separates itself from the islands. Ibiza effectively closes in October and Palma quietens; the Costa del Sol does neither. Around three hundred days of sunshine a year and a genuinely mild winter mean the golf courses, the restaurants and the villas stay open, and private movements continue right through January. The calendar still has a shape, but it is a gentler one:

October to April
the reason this coast has a winter at all. Cool enough to play properly, warm enough to sit outside afterwards, and the quietest months for slots and pricing
the golf season
Semana Santa, the week before Easter
Andalusia’s biggest week. Seville and Malaga both fill, and it is the one spring date to book well ahead
a sharp spike
May and June
summer weather without the summer traffic, and the months we suggest when the dates are genuinely yours to choose
the value window
July and August
villa season, the coast at its busiest and the AP-7 at its slowest. Book six weeks out and land outside the Friday crush
the peak
September
the sea at its warmest, the crowds gone by the middle of the month, prices back to shoulder levels
the quiet favourite
Christmas and New Year
families with property here, and the one winter week when availability actually tightens
a second, smaller peak

What year-round demand means for your booking

– Aircraft are here in winter as well as summer, which is not true of the Balearics. That keeps positioning legs short in months when a flight to Ibiza would have to be flown down from northern Europe empty;

– Outside July, August and Easter, a charter here can usually be arranged within a few days. The slot is not the obstacle it is on the islands, and neither is the ramp;

– The golf months are the genuine bargain. Same aircraft, same two and a half hours, noticeably lower price, and a coast that is pleasant to be on rather than crowded.

Flying to Malaga with a dog or a cat

Of the Spanish destinations we cover, this is the easiest one to bring an animal to. The paperwork is the ordinary European set, the flight is two and a half hours, and the coast is set up for dogs in a way that reflects how many British owners live here rather than visit.

What Spain requires:

  • An ISO 11784/11785 microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination and not after;
  • A rabies vaccination at least 21 days before entry, given when the animal was 12 weeks old or older;
  • An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued within 10 days of arrival and good for the journey home for up to six months;
  • A maximum of five animals per owner, travelling with the owner rather than commercially;
  • Praziquantel from a Spanish vet 24 to 120 hours before landing back in Britain, entered with the date and product. Dogs only; cats are exempt.

Three practical points for this coast

– The ground leg is the long part. Forty-five minutes to Marbella and seventy to Sotogrande in a car is more time than most dogs spend in the aircraft, so we arrange a vehicle with room for a crate or a bed rather than assuming a saloon will do;

– Summer heat is real but avoidable. The apron here is hot from June through September, and because the airport never closes we can put an animal on an early morning or late evening departure instead of a midday one;

– The worming appointment for the trip home has to happen in Spain inside the 24 to 120 hour window. There is no shortage of English-speaking practices along this coast, and we book one near where you are staying rather than sending you back towards the airport.

Why owners relocating here find it straightforward

A significant share of the pet movements we handle on this route are not holidays but moves, permanent or seasonal, to properties between Malaga and Sotogrande. Spain sits on the ordinary European route home, so there is no blood test and no waiting period whenever the animal travels back, and the six-month validity of the health certificate covers a whole season of coming and going. On board nothing goes in a hold and no weight limit applies, so the size of the dog affects the car at the far end rather than the aircraft.

Rules for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the current position in writing for your dates before anything is booked.

Types of flights

The mix on this route is broader than on a summer island, because the coast works all year and because so many British clients own property here rather than book hotels. What reaches our desk:

  • Golf trips through the cooler months, which are decided by hold volume rather than seat count and account for a large share of our winter movements;
  • Villa and property travel, both holiday weeks and shorter visits by owners checking on a house or meeting agents;
  • Summer family holidays, usually a week or a fortnight, and the one part of the year when the coast behaves like the islands;
  • Yacht joinings at Puerto Banus and along the coast, timed to the vessel rather than to the diary;
  • Corporate travel and small conferences, which the mild winters make possible in months when northern Europe cannot host them outdoors;
  • Onward trips to Morocco, where Tangier, Casablanca and Marrakesh are closer from here than Madrid is.

The first two on that list decide the cabin rather than the timings. Golf is the obvious case: six players with clubs need the cabin that eight passengers would otherwise take, and it is the single most common reason a quote comes in above what a client expected. Property visits are the opposite case, usually two or three people on a light jet, in and out within a day, and one of the few trips where a same-day return genuinely works on this route.

private flight with animals

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight sold cheaply because the aircraft has to fly it anyway. On this corridor they behave differently from the island routes, and in a way that favours the client who can be flexible.

Why they appear here all year

– Traffic never stops. Where the Balearics generate legs in a burst between June and September, this coast produces them in February and November as well, which makes a match far more likely if your dates are loose;

– The Iberian shuttle. Aircraft move constantly between Malaga, Madrid, Lisbon, Seville and the Portuguese coast, and those short legs are among the cheapest flying available anywhere in Europe;

– The British return. Jets that bring a family down for a week fly home empty and come back empty to collect, which on a two and a half hour sector is a substantial saving to pass on.

Discounts run from roughly half to three quarters of a normal charter. What you give up is control: the operator owns the date and often the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Because this route runs twelve months rather than four, we suggest telling us a fortnight you could travel in rather than a single day. Current availability sits on our empty legs page, and we flag matches as operators release them.

empty legs

Jet Sharing

Sharing puts several parties on one aircraft heading the same way on the same day, and the cost of the cabin is split between them instead of falling on a single client. On a two and a half hour sector at these prices it works better than on most routes we sell, and the reason is the shape of the demand rather than the arithmetic.

Golf parties travel in fours and sixes. Villa owners fly out in twos and threes. Both move on predictable dates, both want the same coast, and neither fills a cabin on its own. Split a midsize aircraft between eight people and the seat lands somewhere close to a peak-season scheduled ticket, with a private terminal at both ends and a hold that takes the clubs.

What a shared seat still includes

– The general aviation terminal at both ends, and boarding half an hour before departure rather than three;

– Luggage judged by what the hold takes, which on a golf trip is the whole argument for flying this way;

– A dog in the cabin, subject to the paperwork above and to the other passengers being told before the day.

Give us the week and the number travelling rather than a fixed date. On a route with year-round traffic and a regular pattern of small groups, the match comes up more often here than on the seasonal islands.

jet sharing

Helicopter charter

On this coast a helicopter solves one specific problem: the AP-7. The motorway west is the only road to Marbella, Puerto Banus and Sotogrande, and on a July Friday it turns a forty-five minute run into an hour and a quarter. From the apron at Malaga the same journey is a matter of minutes, and the transfer is arranged to follow the jet directly.

Marbella and the Golden Mile
against 40 to 45 by road, and considerably more on a summer changeover day
about 15 minutes
Puerto Banus
the marina and the yacht berths, roughly 50 minutes by car
about 15 minutes

the golf corridor, and the run where the saving is largest at around 70 minutes by road
about 25 minutes

about 25 minutes
Seville and Jerez

35 to 45 minutes
Yachts and coastal properties

direct

When it is worth it and when it is not

– For Malaga city itself, almost never. The airport is fifteen minutes from the centre by car and a helicopter adds cost without saving time. We will say so rather than sell it;

– For Sotogrande, a peak-season Marbella arrival or a tight golf tee time, it earns its cost outright. Those are the three requests we see most and the three where the answer is straightforward;

– Landing at a villa, a hotel or a yacht needs the site authorised in advance, which takes time rather than money. Tell us the address when the jet is booked, not when you land.

The machines that work this coast are chosen for the terrain rather than the distance: everything here is short, and the Sierra Blanca rises steeply behind Marbella.

Airbus H125 / AS350 Ecureuil

Costa del Sol trips from the desk notes: six recent bookings

What the route looks like once the quote is accepted. Six jobs from recent seasons, drawn from the booking notes, with surnames as initials and some particulars altered.

GOLF · THE HOLD DECIDED IT

Six players to Sotogrande in February

Farnborough - Malaga, Cessna Citation XLS+, about 2 h 15 min · 6 pax

Six passengers fit in a light jet without difficulty. Six sets of clubs do not, and the hold rather than the seats chose the aircraft. Around 13,500 EUR, which in February is close to the cheapest this route gets. They took a helicopter to Sotogrande instead of the seventy-minute drive and made an afternoon tee time that the car would have cost them.

AP-7 · FRIDAY IN JULY

A family to a villa above Marbella

London - Malaga, Cessna Citation Latitude, about 2 h 20 min · 8 pax

They wanted a Friday afternoon arrival, which on this coast in July is the single worst slot of the week: the motorway west adds twenty minutes or more on top of forty-five. We moved the departure to the morning, they landed before noon and were at the villa by one. The flight cost the same; the afternoon did not.

PROPERTY · SAME DAY

Mr G. H.: two viewings and home by dinner

Biggin Hill - Malaga and back, HondaJet Elite, about 2 h 20 min each way · 3 pax

A buyer with two houses to see near Estepona. Out at half past seven, viewings from ten, wheels up again at four, back in Kent for the evening. Around 11,800 EUR each way. This is one of the few destinations at this distance where a same-day return genuinely works, because the airport never closes and the slot is not a fight.

MOROCCO · THE SHORT LEG

A group continuing to Marrakesh after four days on the coast

Malaga - Marrakesh, Embraer Praetor 500, about 1 h 10 min · 8 pax

The reason to be on the mainland rather than an island. Africa is an hour away from here, and the leg that would have been an awkward connection through Madrid became a short morning flight. Around 13,500 EUR. Booked with the inbound from London as one itinerary, which kept the aircraft working and took a positioning leg out of the price.

DOGS · WINTER MOVE

Mrs P. R.: a seasonal move with two spaniels

Bristol - Malaga, Embraer Phenom 300E, about 2 h 10 min · 2 pax + two dogs

A November move to a house near Estepona for the winter. Paperwork was routine Spanish and took a fortnight. What needed arranging was the car: an hour on the AP-7 with two dogs needs a vehicle with room for beds, not a saloon. The worming appointment for the trip home in March was booked with a practice near the house rather than back at the airport.

EMPTY LEG · NOVEMBER

Ms K. D.: an aircraft heading north anyway

Malaga - London, Citation XLS+ empty leg, about 2 h 20 min · 4 pax

A jet that had brought a golf party down and was due back at Luton three days later. She paid a little over a third of a fresh one-way. Legs like this turn up on this corridor in months when the islands produce nothing at all, which is the practical advantage of a coast that works through the winter.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Malaga

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Malaga?

About 2 hours 20 minutes, covering roughly 930 nautical miles. From Southampton, Bristol or Cardiff it is closer to two hours ten, from Manchester two and a half, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around two and three quarters. Every jet class we operate reaches Malaga nonstop from any British airport.

2How much does a private jet to Malaga cost?

From about 11,500 EUR one way on a light jet out of southern England and 14,000 EUR from the London fields on a midsize cabin. From Scotland allow 23,000 to 23,500 EUR, and a large cabin for twelve or more starts near 28,000 EUR. The gap between peak and off-peak here is narrower than on the Balearic islands.

3Which airport do private jets use for Marbella?

Malaga Costa del Sol (AGP / LEMG). Marbella has no airport of its own, and Malaga is the only field on this coast handling business aviation. The general aviation terminal sits beside the commercial building, and the drive west to Marbella and the Golden Mile takes 40 to 45 minutes, or about 15 minutes by helicopter.

4Is it hard to get a slot at Malaga in summer?

Much easier than on the islands. Slots are required but are normally issued within one to two working days whatever the season, the airport runs 24 hours with no night curfew, and there is no three-hour ground limit or refused parking of the kind that shapes flights to Ibiza and Palma in August. The real summer constraint here is the AP-7 motorway rather than the apron.

5When is the best time to fly privately to Malaga?

October to April for value: this is the golf season, the weather is comfortable, and prices and availability are at their best. May, June and September give summer conditions without the July and August crowds. The dates to book well ahead are Semana Santa, the peak summer weeks and the Christmas and New Year fortnight.
