Hire a Private Jet to Guadeloupe, French Caribbean
Guadeloupe is a French overseas department and integral part of the European Union, located in the eastern Caribbean between Antigua and Dominica, comprising two main islands - Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre - connected by a narrow channel and together forming the distinctive butterfly shape visible on any map of the Lesser Antilles. As a French overseas department, Guadeloupe uses the Euro, operates under French law and applies EU regulations, but unlike metropolitan France it sits outside the Schengen Area - meaning that arrivals from other EU or Schengen countries still pass through French immigration and customs procedures. For private aviation from the United Kingdom, Guadeloupe is served by Maryse Condé International Airport (PTP / TFFR) on Grande-Terre, one of the most capable airports in the Caribbean with the second longest runway in the Lesser Antilles. The island combines exceptional natural diversity - the rainforested volcano of La Soufrière, the spectacular Carbet waterfalls, white sand beaches and mangrove reserves - with the food, culture and hospitality infrastructure of a French overseas territory. Antigua is just 54 nautical miles to the north, and Martinique lies 105 nautical miles to the south, making Guadeloupe a natural hub for Eastern Caribbean island-hopping itineraries.

Maryse Condé International Airport (PTP / TFFR), renamed in 2021 to honour the Guadeloupean Nobel laureate and author, is located in the commune of Les Abymes approximately 2 km north-east of Pointe-à-Pitre on Grande-Terre. It has a single runway (12/30) measuring 3,125 metres - the second longest in the Lesser Antilles and long enough to accommodate aircraft as large as the A380 - which makes it one of the most capable airports for private aviation in the entire Caribbean. The airport is also known informally as Aéroport Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes, reflecting its role as a regional hub. Private aviation handling is available on site with customs and immigration from 10:00 to 04:00 UTC daily. There is no night curfew. A landing permit (GENDEC submission 24 to 2 hours before arrival) is required for private flights arriving from third countries, including the UK post-Brexit, for flights landing between 13:30 and 22:00 local time. For your ultimate comfort, we arrange chauffeured transfers from Maryse Condé Airport to your hotel or villa anywhere in Guadeloupe.

The destination draws private aviation clients primarily for luxury leisure and the exceptional natural diversity of the island - a combination found nowhere else in the Caribbean. Grande-Terre has the beaches and resort hotels, while Basse-Terre has the nature. The French culinary culture - the island's blend of metropolitan French technique with Creole ingredients, spices and tradition - produces a restaurant scene of genuine quality. The duty-free shopping of Saint-Martin is a short hop to the north, and the sailing waters of the Eastern Caribbean, with Antigua, Dominica and Martinique all within easy island-hopping distance, make Guadeloupe an excellent base for a Caribbean circuit by private jet.
Private jet charter prices to Guadeloupe start from approximately 56000 GBP for heavy jets from London on the ~3,570 nautical mile transatlantic sector. The final charter cost depends on the selected aircraft, departure airport, passenger numbers and any additional services requested.

Prices for the private jet flights to Guadeloupe
At approximately 3,570 nautical miles from London, Guadeloupe is closely comparable in distance to the US Virgin Islands and Barbados, making it well suited to the Gulfstream G450, Challenger 650 and Global 6000 on a non-stop transatlantic crossing. The sector is slightly shorter than Martinique from some UK airports, reflecting Guadeloupe's more northerly position in the Eastern Caribbean.
An important operational note specific to Guadeloupe: a landing permit is required for private flights arriving from third countries (including the UK post-Brexit) between 13:30 and 22:00 local time. This requires a GENDEC (General Declaration) submission 24 to 2 hours before the planned arrival. We manage this filing as part of every booking for UK clients - it adds no complexity for passengers but requires lead time. For arrivals outside these hours the requirement does not apply, but we submit the GENDEC as standard practice regardless.
Guadeloupe also sits outside the Schengen Area despite being a French overseas department and EU territory. UK visitors therefore pass through French immigration and customs on arrival - similar to arriving in metropolitan France post-Brexit, but without Schengen passport-free movement from other EU countries. EU customs rules apply on goods. French Air Transport Solidarity Levy applies on departing passengers and is included in the charter quote.
Below are the approximate prices for the flights performed this year:

Business aviation airport in Guadeloupe
Guadeloupe's main international gateway handles all private jet operations for the archipelago. As a rule, all flights use the following:
- Maryse Condé International Airport (PTP) - Les Abymes / Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe (PTP / FR) - 2 km from Pointe-à-Pitre
Maryse Condé International Airport (IATA: PTP, ICAO: TFFR), renamed in 2021 from Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport to honour Guadeloupean Nobel laureate Maryse Condé, is located in the commune of Les Abymes approximately 2 km north-east of Pointe-à-Pitre on Grande-Terre. It is the largest of the six airports in the Guadeloupe archipelago and the second busiest in the Lesser Antilles. The airport has a single runway (12/30) measuring 3,125 metres - the second longest in the Lesser Antilles, capable of accommodating aircraft up to A380 size. Private aviation handling and customs/immigration are available on site. The airport has no night curfew. A GENDEC landing permit is required for private flights from third countries (including UK post-Brexit) arriving between 13:30 and 22:00 local time - we submit this 24 to 2 hours before arrival as standard. The airport is an EU customs territory under French administration. Schengen regulations do not apply - French immigration procedures are in force for all arrivals. Five smaller airports serve the outer islands of the archipelago (Marie-Galante, La Désirade, Terre-de-Haut, Saint-Francois and Basse-Terre Baillif) for inter-island connections.

Main characteristics of the airport:
- The official name is Maryse Condé International Airport (formerly Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport), PTP, Guadeloupe (France).
- The airport is located in Les Abymes, approximately 2 km from Pointe-à-Pitre.
- Private aviation handling and customs/immigration on site.
- Geolocation of the airport - 16°15′51″N, 61°31′34″W
- Runway 12/30 - 3,125 m (10,253 ft), suitable for all aircraft categories including wide-body.
- IATA - PTP. ICAO - TFFR.
- Time Zone: UTC-4 (AST, Atlantic Standard Time, year-round - no daylight saving)
The airport's non-Schengen status and GENDEC landing permit requirement for UK arrivals are the two key administrative points we manage for every private jet booking to Guadeloupe. You can get additional information from our consultants.
Operational handling at Guadeloupe PTP
Maryse Condé Airport handles private aviation through its general aviation facilities alongside its substantial commercial operations. The airport's scale and its role as an Air France and Air Caraïbes hub mean it has mature handling infrastructure and experienced teams familiar with international private jet arrivals.
Two operational points require attention for UK private jet clients. First, the GENDEC landing permit: for UK arrivals (third country post-Brexit) landing between 13:30 and 22:00 local time, a General Declaration must be submitted 24 to 2 hours before arrival. We file this as part of every booking for UK clients. Second, the non-Schengen status: despite being French territory and EU, Guadeloupe is an outermost region of the EU where Schengen does not apply. UK visitors pass through French immigration - the same process as arriving in France from outside Schengen. Valid UK passport, UK visa to France if required, and standard EU customs rules on goods.
No night curfew applies at Guadeloupe, giving full scheduling flexibility. The French Air Transport Solidarity Levy applies on departing passengers and is included in all charter quotes. Hurricane season (June to November) can affect operations and scheduling, and we advise clients travelling during this period on current conditions.
Flying to Guadeloupe with your pet
As a French overseas department and EU outermost region, Guadeloupe applies the standard UK post-Brexit EU pet travel framework - the same rules as travelling to France, Italy or Germany. This is considerably simpler than for independent Caribbean island nations:
- Microchip: ISO-compliant microchip, implanted before the rabies vaccination.
- Rabies vaccination: valid, administered after microchipping. A 21-day wait applies for first-time vaccination before EU entry.
- Animal Health Certificate (AHC): issued by an official UK vet, valid for 10 days from issue to first EU entry. For longer stays, the return AHC must be timed from a vet visit before the homeward flight.
- Tapeworm treatment for dogs: required on return to the UK.
Pets travel in the cabin throughout the eight-hour transatlantic flight. Documentation is checked on arrival through the private aviation channel. No quarantine for compliant pets. The EU framework makes Guadeloupe significantly easier for pet travel than Barbados, Antigua or other non-EU Caribbean islands.

Empty Leg Flights to Guadeloupe
Travellers with flexible schedules may benefit from Empty Leg opportunities on transatlantic routes between UK airports and Guadeloupe. The Caribbean high season generates repositioning traffic across the Eastern Caribbean network, and empty legs occur most frequently December through April.

The prices shown above are indicative examples. Actual Empty Leg opportunities depend on aircraft availability, routing and travel dates.

Helicopter charter

Guadeloupe - destination overview
Guadeloupe is the most naturally diverse of the French Caribbean departments, an archipelago of islands whose butterfly silhouette - the two main islands of Grande-Terre and Basse-Terre joined at the narrow Rivière Salée channel - contains within it two entirely different geographies and characters. Grande-Terre is the flat, sunnier, more commercially developed island, with Pointe-à-Pitre as the main city, resort hotels strung along the southern and south-eastern coast, excellent beaches at Sainte-Anne and Saint-François, and the airport. Basse-Terre is entirely different: volcanic, mountainous, forested, wild, with La Soufrière (an active stratovolcano, 1,467 metres) at its heart and a national park that covers almost the entire southern half of the island in tropical rainforest of exceptional biodiversity.
La Soufrière is one of the most accessible volcanoes in the world for non-technical visitors. The trail to the summit passes through cloud forest, past sulphur vents and steaming fumaroles, and the summit crater itself can be reached on foot in a few hours from the upper parking area. The Carbet Falls on Basse-Terre are three waterfalls of spectacular size in the jungle setting of the national park, with the first (110 metres) accessible by a short walk and the second (115 metres, the highest single-drop waterfall in the French Caribbean) requiring a longer hike. The national park contains rivers, mangrove coastlines, hot springs and a remarkable array of endemic flora and fauna.

The outer islands of the Guadeloupe archipelago - Les Saintes (Terre-de-Haut), Marie-Galante and La Désirade - each have their own distinct character, accessible by ferry or helicopter from Grande-Terre. Terre-de-Haut in Les Saintes is often described as the most beautiful village in the French Caribbean, a small island of exceptional charm with very little tourism infrastructure and correspondingly authentic atmosphere. Marie-Galante is larger, agricultural and known for its rum distilleries. La Désirade is remote, flat and largely undiscovered.
The culinary tradition of Guadeloupe - Creole cuisine built on accras de morue (salt cod fritters), boudin antillais, colombo (a spiced curry tradition brought by indentured Indian workers), fresh fish and shellfish, and the powerful rum agricole produced on Basse-Terre - is genuine and deeply embedded in daily life. The rhum agricole of Guadeloupe, particularly from Domaine de Séverin, Karukéra and Longueteau, is among the finest in the Caribbean.
Where to stay in Guadeloupe - luxury hotels and villas
Guadeloupe's luxury hotel offer has grown significantly over the past decade, with the best options concentrated on the south coast of Grande-Terre and in the quieter corners of the archipelago. A selection of notable properties:
- La Toubana Hotel and Spa (Sainte-Anne, Grande-Terre) - a clifftop boutique resort overlooking the Caribbean with private beach access, infinity pool, spa and exceptional views. Around 35 minutes from the airport.
- Le Gosier Beach Hotel and similar beachfront properties in Gosier - the main resort belt of Grande-Terre, within 20-30 minutes of the airport, with a range of four and five-star options.
- La Cohoba Resort (Basse-Terre area) - a newer luxury property on the west coast of Basse-Terre combining pool villas with access to the volcanic landscape. Around 60-70 minutes from the airport.
- Auberge de la Vieille Tour (Gosier) - a classic Antilles hotel in a restored 18th-century sugar mill tower, with a beach, pool and fine dining. Around 20-25 minutes from the airport.
- Private villa rentals, Sainte-Anne and Saint-Francois - the most sought-after leisure accommodation in Guadeloupe, with seafront and hillside villas across the south-east of Grande-Terre available through specialist Caribbean villa agencies.
Our team can coordinate chauffeured transfers from Maryse Condé Airport to your hotel, villa or any destination across the Guadeloupe archipelago.

Guadeloupe private jet charter - FAQ
How long is a private jet flight from London to Guadeloupe?
A non-stop flight from London to Guadeloupe takes around 7 hours 55 minutes to 8 hours 10 minutes depending on the aircraft. From Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham the sector is very similar in length. Guadeloupe is closely comparable in distance to the US Virgin Islands from UK airports.
How much does it cost to charter a private jet to Guadeloupe?
Prices generally start from around 56000 GBP for heavy jets from London. The transatlantic sector requires heavy or large super midsize jets. Peak Caribbean season (December to April) typically carries higher prices.
Is Guadeloupe in the Schengen Area?
No. Despite being a French overseas department and an EU outermost region, Guadeloupe is outside the Schengen Area. UK visitors pass through French immigration and customs on arrival - the same process as arriving in metropolitan France from outside Schengen. A valid UK passport and French/EU entry documentation are required.
Is a landing permit required for private jets arriving in Guadeloupe from the UK?
Yes. A GENDEC landing permit is required for private flights arriving from third countries (including the UK post-Brexit) between 13:30 and 22:00 local time. We submit this 24 to 2 hours before arrival as standard practice for all UK private jet bookings to Guadeloupe.
Can I combine Guadeloupe with other Caribbean islands on one charter?
Yes. Antigua is just 54 nautical miles to the north (around 15-20 minutes by jet), and Martinique is 105 nautical miles to the south (under 30 minutes). We regularly arrange Eastern Caribbean circuits combining Guadeloupe with Antigua, Martinique, Barbados or Saint Lucia on a single connected charter.
Can I travel with my pet to Guadeloupe?
Yes. As an EU territory, Guadeloupe applies the standard UK post-Brexit AHC framework: microchip, valid rabies vaccination and an Animal Health Certificate issued within 10 days of departure. No titre test or advance import permit required. This is significantly simpler than for non-EU Caribbean destinations like Barbados or Antigua.
When is the best time to fly to Guadeloupe?
The dry season from December through May offers the best weather - sunny, warm and with lower humidity. The Caribbean high season (December to April) is the most expensive and socially active period. The hurricane season runs June through November, with the peak risk in September and October. May, June and November offer good weather at more competitive charter rates.
