Private jet charter in Trinidad and Tobago
A flight from London to Trinidad and Tobago covers about 3,998 nautical miles, farther than to any island in the northern Caribbean, and the shape of the charter follows from that figure. Private Jets UK first asks whether the party wants one long hop in a long-range cabin or a cheaper Challenger-class jet that stops for an hour in the Azores. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. In this two-island republic that means a runway for jets on each island, Piarco for Port of Spain and the energy industry and Robinson International for the beaches of Tobago, and a plan for the short sea or air hop between them.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Trinidad and Tobago depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Challenger 605 to Port of Spain Piarco International with one technical stop in the Azores, and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Trinidad and Tobago?
Trinidad lies off the Venezuelan coast, at the southern end of the Caribbean arc, and is farther from London than Barbados or Antigua. Only the long-range jets cross in a single sector. A Challenger 605 or a Legacy 650, the sensible choice for six to eight people, needs one stop, and that stop is almost always Santa Maria in the Azores. From Biggin Hill the two legs are 1,429 and 2,615 nautical miles, only 46 more than the direct 3,998, so the price of the stop is mostly the hour on the ground. Trinidad and Tobago keeps one clock all year, four hours behind Britain in winter and five in summer. The times below are westbound, flown against the usual headwind, and gate to gate without the stop:
4,044 nautical miles from Biggin Hill in two legs, with about an hour on the ground at Santa Mariaabout 9 h 50 min plus the stop
3,998 nautical miles from Biggin Hill, a heavy jet with the range to do it in one hopabout 9 h 45 min
3,967 nautical miles from Farnborough, a long-range jet at its normal cruiseabout 8 h 50 min
3,967 nautical miles with the jet stream behind the aircraftabout 7 h 30 min
Why the first day is spent recovering
A Global 6000 that leaves Farnborough at eight on a winter morning lands at Piarco at about ten to one in the afternoon by the local clock, while the passengers' bodies believe it is ten to five. A meeting the same evening is a stretch, so most Trinidad itineraries are built around a stay of several days.
The way home is the shorter half: the jet stream blows from west to east, and the same Global 6000 that needs about 8 h 50 min westbound is back in about 7 h 30 min.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Trinidad and Tobago
Typical private jet charter prices from Britain to Port of Spain, listed cheapest first. The first rows are large-cabin jets with the stop in the Azores, the later ones long-range jets that cross non-stop. The aircraft class moves the figure far more than the airfield:

Two things worth knowing about these figures
– The stop saves real money on this route. From Biggin Hill a Challenger 605 via the Azores starts at £81,250, a Legacy 650 on the same plan at £85,900, a Falcon 900LX non-stop at £99,750 and a Gulfstream G650ER at £128,550, all landing on the same runway. The non-stop jets buy hours, which matters on a short stay and with an animal in the cabin;
– A one-way price includes the aircraft's journey home. The jet must recross the Atlantic whether it carries you or not, so a return booked together is the better deal. Tobago is a little closer than Trinidad: the same Challenger 605 from Biggin Hill to Robinson International via the Azores comes to £80,350. Departing from Farnborough, a Global 6000 to Piarco costs £108,100. Air Passenger Duty is charged per passenger on a departure from a British airport, by distance band, and we show it as a separate line in the quotation.
Private jet flights from Port of Spain to Tobago and the neighbouring islands
The only domestic sector worth a jet is the one between the two islands, about 46 nautical miles by air, and a private aircraft makes sense for a party with a tight schedule or a late arrival from London. Beyond that, Port of Spain looks north to Grenada and Barbados and south-west to the Guyana coast. These are the sectors people ask for:
| Route | Aircraft | Flight time | Price, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Port of Spain - Tobago 46 nm / 85 km |
Pilatus PC-12 NGX up to 9 |
about 40 min | from £3,100 |
| Port of Spain - Barbados 192 nm / 356 km |
Citation CJ3+ up to 7 |
about 1 h | from £5,300 |
| Port of Spain - St Lucia 197 nm / 365 km |
Citation CJ3+ up to 7 |
about 1 h | from £5,300 |
| Port of Spain - Grenada 92 nm / 170 km |
Citation CJ4 Gen2 up to 8 |
about 40 min | from £5,950 |
| Port of Spain - Georgetown 319 nm / 591 km |
Citation XLS+ up to 9 |
about 1 h 15 min | from £6,800 |
| Port of Spain - Antigua 409 nm / 757 km |
Citation XLS+ up to 9 |
about 1 h 25 min | from £8,050 |
Two things worth knowing about these hops
– Tobago is the one that changes the plan. A party that lands in Trinidad on a long-range jet can take a turboprop across, or the jet itself can fly on to Robinson International, whose runway takes anything we send. We settle which island the formalities are done on before the quote;
– Every hop to another country is a fresh international arrival, with its own forms, and which operator may carry passengers between two foreign airports is settled before the quote.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Trinidad and Tobago:
Turboprops
For the hop between the islands, not for the ocean. The Pilatus PC-12 is the usual choice for Tobago, and a King Air 350 suits a larger group.
Light jets
They suit Tobago, Grenada and Barbados with four to six people, as a second aircraft once the party has arrived. No light jet attempts the crossing from Britain.
Super-midsize
A Challenger 350 is published at 3,200 nautical miles, enough for the two legs through the Azores, since the longer one is 2,615. The cabin is snug for nine hours, so we propose it to a couple or a small family.
Heavy jets
The class behind most sensible crossings: the Challenger 605 and Legacy 650 make one stop and carry an executive team or a family with staff in comfort.
Ultra-long range
The only class that crosses in one hop, and the one we suggest for a short business trip, a large party or an animal in the cabin. The Falcon 900LX is the cheapest of these from Britain.

A trip to the south Caribbean often involves two aircraft: the first brings you from Britain, and the second, a turboprop or a small jet based in the region, makes the hops. We name both when we quote.

Business aviation airports in Trinidad and Tobago
Two airports matter, one on each island. Piarco is built for business: the energy industry, the capital and the government. Robinson International at Crown Point is the resort airport. The rest of the table lists the neighbours a party is likely to add:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Piarco International POS / TTPP |
Piarco, east Trinidad, about 21 km from Port of Spain along the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway | The main gateway and the basis of the price on this page. One asphalt runway, 10/28, of about 3,200 metres takes every aircraft we offer. The North Terminal serves scheduled passengers; the South Terminal, the old passenger building, handles general aviation, cargo and helicopters and has been refitted as an executive terminal. Airport, tower, customs and immigration are listed as open 24 hours |
| A. N. R. Robinson International TAB / TTCP |
Crown Point, at the south-western tip of Tobago, about 11 km from Scarborough | One asphalt runway, 11/29, of about 2,744 metres, with an instrument landing system. The international terminal takes cargo, general aviation and helicopters on seven parking positions. The airport for the Store Bay, Pigeon Point and Buccoo Reef resorts |
| Grenada Maurice Bishop GND / TGPY |
Point Salines, 92 nautical miles from Port of Spain | The nearest foreign gateway to the north, and a natural second stop on a trip through the Windward Islands |
| Barbados Grantley Adams BGI / TBPB |
Christ Church, 192 nautical miles from Port of Spain | The only jet airport on its island, with a runway of about 11,000 feet and handlers on the apron |
| Georgetown Cheddi Jagan GEO / SYCJ |
Timehri, Guyana, 319 nautical miles from Port of Spain | A runway of about 3,360 metres, about 41 km south of Georgetown, and the farthest neighbour on this list |
| Santa Maria SMA / LPAZ |
Azores, 2,615 nautical miles from Port of Spain | The technical stop we plan for Challenger-class jets, with a runway of about 3,050 metres. Not a destination, but it decides whether the crossing costs one stop or none |
What the apron offers is worth stating plainly:
Handling at Piarco
The published sources we opened name no branded FBO at Piarco. Private aircraft use the South Terminal, and handling, fuel and catering are arranged through authorised handling companies, which we name in the quotation.
Hours
Aerodrome, tower, customs and immigration are listed as available round the clock at Piarco, so a late arrival after the crossing is no problem. Times on this page are local, UTC-4 all year.
Permission to land
A charter is a commercial non-scheduled operation, and the Civil Aviation Authority lists its international charter permit with an application at least fourteen days ahead. A private flight is checked separately, so we start the paperwork as soon as the dates are known.
Arriving from Britain: passports, customs and what to carry
Trinidad and Tobago is outside the Schengen area and the European Union, so a private flight from London arrives as an international flight, and passengers and crew clear immigration and customs at Piarco or Robinson International. The rules for British citizens are short:
British citizens can visit for up to 90 days without a visa; the passport must be valid for at least six months after the day of arrivalevery passenger, children included
visitors must be able to show an onward or return ticket and proof of funds for the stay; on a private flight we agree with the handler how the aircraft's own departure is shownagreed before departure
anything prohibited or liable to tax or duty must be declared, there is no limit on the currency carried but cash of more than TT$20,000, roughly £2,200, is declared, and penalties for failing to declare are strictdeclare when in doubt
Business visits, health and the flight home
The 90-day allowance is for visitors, and a trip that involves work in the country is checked with its immigration division before departure. Vaccine guidance is published on TravelHealthPro, where we check it for each trip.
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, and British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation. Citizens of Trinidad and Tobago need a UK visitor visa obtained in advance and cannot use the electronic travel authorisation, which matters when a local guest joins the flight to London.

Which airport for which part of Trinidad and Tobago
The two islands pull in different directions, and the choice of airport decides the first day. These are the usual pairings:
the capital stands on the Gulf of Paria, about 21 km from Piarco by the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway, and we allow extra time at rush hours for a morning meetingPiarco
the resort end of Tobago, close to the runway, with Buccoo Reef off the coastRobinson International
the capital of Tobago is about 11 km from the airport, and the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, protected since 1776, lies in the hills behind itRobinson International
92 to 319 nautical miles from Port of Spain, flown on a light or midsize jetPiarco, then onward
Trinidad and Tobago: what our clients go for
Business comes first, and it means energy. The economy of Trinidad rests on oil, gas and petrochemicals, so the people who charter to Piarco are often executives, contractors and lawyers on the way to Port of Spain. Such trips want a fixed departure time and a crew that understands a return the next evening.
Tobago is the second reason, and a quite different one. About 40 km long and 10 km wide, with some 60,000 people, it is an island of reefs, rainforest and beaches, where tourism, fishing and government are the main employers. Buccoo Reef and Pigeon Point sit on the south-west coast, and Speyside is the diving centre in the north-east.
The third is carnival: Trinidad and Tobago is the home of the steelpan, of calypso and of soca. The republic has about 1.5 million people, English is the official language, the currency is the Trinidad and Tobago dollar, and Trinidad holds about 93 percent of the land.
The year in Trinidad and Tobago: dry season, wet season and carnival
The climate is tropical maritime, and the calendar of events changes the apron more than the weather does:
the dry season, about the first five months of the year, and the main season for Tobago hotels, for the beach and for the divingdry, peak
the rainy season, which is also the Atlantic hurricane season; the country lies outside the main hurricane belt, though Tobago has been struck by Hurricane Flora and damaged by Ivanwet, quieter
Carnival costs more than the ordinary week
Carnival, Easter and the Christmas holidays fill the hotels, the handlers and every long-range jet in Europe at once, and we book the handler's stand with the flight. The prices on this page describe an ordinary week, with a Falcon 900LX from Biggin Hill at £99,750 one way, and a holiday date is booked as early as the plans are known.
The Trinidad and Tobago calendar: carnival, Easter, jazz and Divali
Dated events move the demand for aircraft, and some of them move the date every year:

Flying to Trinidad and Tobago with a dog or a cat
Trinidad and Tobago lets dogs and cats in without quarantine when every condition of the import permit is met, as the Ministry of Agriculture states for the pets of citizens and residents. A private flight adds one wrinkle: the British export guidance was written for a scheduled flight.
The one fact to read before you book
An import permit from the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer is required, and no dog or cat may be imported except under its terms. The British certificate for the country, 3923EHC, is completed by an Official Veterinarian after a clinical examination no more than seven days before export, and the owner declares where the animal has lived during the previous six months.
The British guidance also says that the animal must travel directly from the United Kingdom to Trinidad and Tobago, with no stopover and no change of flight. A Challenger that stops in the Azores is not a direct flight in that sense, so we ask the veterinary authority in writing before the booking is made, and a long-range jet that crosses in one hop fits the wording most plainly.
- A 15-digit ISO-standard microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination, with the number written on every document;
- The rabies conditions depend on the category Trinidad and Tobago assigns to the country of origin, with a permit lead time from about a week to several months and a blood test for some categories. We ask the Chief Veterinary Officer which applies to Britain before any vaccine is given;
- For dogs, treatment against internal and external parasites shortly before entry and a test for Brucella canis, as listed by the specialist pet-travel services;
- Notice at least 24 hours before arrival, with the date, the time and the flight, to the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at St George, as the British guidance directs;
- Entry through Piarco, where the animal is inspected and may be examined further at the owner's expense;
- Wolf hybrids and Savannah and Bengal cats are not accepted, unless they are five generations removed from the wild parent, and birds, reptiles, rabbits and rodents need their own permit and health certificate but no rabies vaccination.
On the way home the rule is British. Trinidad and Tobago is a listed country, so the animal returns with a Great Britain pet health certificate, and a dog must be treated against tapeworm by a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours before landing in Britain. An animal without the right paperwork can be held in quarantine for up to four months.
We confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight, and the longer rules for other species, along with the countries where the timeline runs to months, are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Trinidad and Tobago produces its share, because a charter there is one-way by nature and the aircraft must recross an ocean to get home or to find the next client.
Where Trinidad and Tobago empty legs come from
– Carnival, when aircraft arrive full before the Monday and Tuesday and leave empty;
– The end of the dry season in May, when aircraft that brought winter visitors to Tobago head home empty;
– A business trip with a fixed return, when a heavy jet brings a team to Piarco and flies home without one.
A client who can offer a few days has a far better chance of a match, though the operator owns the date and a leg can vanish when the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. A selection of empty legs on this route follows:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Port of Spain - UK (London Biggin Hill) | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £34,100 |
| UK (London Luton) - Port of Spain | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £34,150 |
| Tobago - UK (Edinburgh) | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £34,300 |
| UK (Belfast) - Port of Spain | Falcon 900LX | 12 seats | £40,500 |
| Port of Spain - UK (Bristol) | Falcon 900LX | 12 seats | £40,850 |
| Tobago - UK (London Farnborough) | Global 6000 | 13 seats | £44,900 |
| UK (Manchester) - Port of Spain | Global 6000 | 13 seats | £45,250 |
| UK (London Gatwick) - Port of Spain | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £47,750 |
How to read those figures
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Falcon 900LX leg of £40,500 with eight aboard works out at about £5,060 a head, and the whole leg costs about two-fifths of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector;
– Legs on this route are less regular than those on a busy European corridor and cluster around the season dates, so an open date helps more than anything.

Helicopter charter
Helicopters in Trinidad and Tobago are first of all an industrial tool. Bristow Caribbean has had its base at Piarco since the middle of the 1970s, flying people and freight to the offshore platforms, with VIP transport, search and rescue and medical evacuation among its work. Both airports take helicopter flights, but we found no published tourist helicopter service on either island, so a private helicopter is arranged as a charter through a licensed operator and the type is named in the quotation:
a useful saving when the highway is slowabout 15 min
the sea crossing from Trinidad to Crown Point, which a helicopter flies over waterabout 30 min
the nearest foreign island, a long water sector for a helicopterabout 55 min
The times are straight-line estimates at a cruise of about 115 knots, and the operator confirms the route and the over-water rules for your date.
Two points on rotary legs
A landing at a hotel, a marina or a house needs a site agreed in advance. For two islands a turboprop is usually cheaper and steadier than a helicopter, and we quote both.

Trinidad and Tobago charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
Six typical jobs put together from booking notes with the particulars changed, so none describes one named client or date.
CARNIVAL · A GROUP OF FRIENDS
Six people, one week in Port of Spain
Biggin Hill - Port of Spain via the Azores, Challenger 605, about 9 h 50 min plus the stop · 6 pax
They left on the Friday before carnival, and the aircraft stopped at Santa Maria for an hour. The jet went home empty, and the return a week later was booked as a separate one-way.
ENERGY · A TWO-DAY BOARD TRIP
A non-stop crossing for four
Farnborough - Port of Spain, Global 6000, about 8 h 50 min · 4 pax
The executives wanted to land on the afternoon before a morning meeting and to be back in Britain the second evening, which only a non-stop crossing allows.
TOBAGO · THE LAST FORTY-SIX MILES
Four guests, one transfer
Port of Spain - Tobago, Pilatus PC-12 NGX, about 40 min · 4 pax
They cleared customs at Piarco after the long-range jet, and boarded a turboprop for the beach hotels the next morning.
ISLAND HOP · A WEEKEND AWAY
Two couples and a sailing weekend
Port of Spain - Grenada, Citation CJ4 Gen2, about 40 min · 4 pax
The party left on the Friday and came back on the Monday, with a fresh set of forms at the Grenada end.
WITH THE DOG · A PERMIT FIRST
A couple, a spaniel and a month of sun
Biggin Hill - Port of Spain, Falcon 900LX non-stop, about 9 h 45 min · 2 pax + dog
The permit was requested months ahead, and a non-stop aircraft was chosen because the British guidance speaks of a direct flight. A vet gave the tapeworm treatment before the return, inside the window of 24 to 120 hours.
EMPTY LEG · THE END OF THE SEASON
A flexible return to Edinburgh
Tobago - Edinburgh, Challenger 605 empty leg, about 9 h 55 min plus the stop · 3 pax
The client gave us a window of four days instead of a date, and paid about £34,300, about two-fifths of a fresh one-way charter.

A. N. R. Robinson International (TAB, TTCP) at Crown Point in Tobago has a runway of about 2,744 metres and takes private aircraft in its international terminal.
4What are the passport and customs rules for a private flight from Britain to Trinidad and Tobago?
British citizens can visit for up to 90 days without a visa, with a passport valid for at least six months after arrival, an onward or return ticket and proof of funds. Anything prohibited or taxable must be declared, and cash of more than TT$20,000 is declared on arrival. A trip involving work is checked with the immigration division beforehand.
5Can I take my dog or cat on a private jet to Trinidad and Tobago?
Yes, with an import permit from the Chief Veterinary Officer and a certificate completed by an Official Veterinarian. The British guidance says the animal must travel directly from the United Kingdom with no stopover, so we confirm in writing that a stop in the Azores is accepted, or fly non-stop. On the way home a dog needs a tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before landing in Britain.
6When is the best time to fly to Trinidad and Tobago, and how early should I book?
January to May is the dry season and the main beach season in Tobago. June to December is wetter and includes the Atlantic hurricane season, though the country lies outside the main hurricane belt. Book as early as the dates are known for Carnival, which falls on the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, for Easter weekend and for the Christmas holidays.
