Private jet charter in Rimini

From a London airfield it is about two hours to the Adriatic coast, and the first thing to settle with Rimini is which Rimini you are flying to: the old city of Fellini and the Roman arch, the fifteen-kilometre beach strip that runs on into Riccione, or the Romagna inland, with its motor-racing circuit, its trade fairs and the hill state of San Marino. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around whichever of those it is. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Rimini is a one-airport coast with a very long runway and a very seasonal rhythm. The Federico Fellini airport sits five kilometres from the old town, so the real decisions are the date, the cabin size, and whether a trip that ends in the hills or in Bologna should land here at all.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Rimini depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Rimini?

About two hours from Biggin Hill in a light jet, two and a half from Edinburgh, and one hour of clock difference to remember on arrival, because Italy keeps Central European time. At 697 to 1,003 nautical miles the sector sits in the middle of the short-haul range: far enough that a light jet is a proper sit, close enough that no trip needs a heavy cabin to make it. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at Rimini a little after ten local time, since Italy is an hour ahead. The airport lies about five kilometres south-east of the old town, in the Miramare district beside Riccione, and the road into the seafront hotels is a short one, typically a quarter of an hour in a private car. Add the drive to the British airfield and the quick processing at both ends and the journey from central London to the Rimini seafront comes to roughly four hours, where a scheduled connection usually costs most of a day.

Light jet or midsize: the question that actually comes up on this route

– Up to four people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer. Two hours in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is comfortable, and on a summer weekend the saving over a midsize cabin pays for the villa car;

– Beyond that, or with golf bags, a trade-fair stand, racing kit for a circuit weekend or a dog, we quote a midsize jet alongside so you see both figures. A family of six with a fortnight of beach luggage and pushchairs is not a light-jet load;

– Heavy aircraft earn their place only when the party is large, when the same aircraft stays with you for several Italian or Croatian stops, or when Rimini is one leg of something longer.

Private jet flights from Rimini

Rimini is a good place to start a loop through central Italy and across the Adriatic. Florence, Bologna and Venice are short enough to be turboprop hops, Rome Ciampino is not much further, Split sits across the water within a light-jet hour, and Sardinia and the Riviera are in reach for a long weekend. Central Italy from the air: when a turboprop beats the motorway

Bologna is 67 nautical miles from Rimini and a little over 120 km as the crow flies, so for a meeting in the city a car from Rimini is often the simpler plan, and we fly there only when time is tight or the party is large. Florence is a different case. Only 65 nautical miles separate it from Rimini, but the Apennines sit in between and the road crosses them, which is why a Pilatus PC-12 on a Florence sector is a real saving of time and not a luxury. Venice at 93 nautical miles and Rome Ciampino at 139 are the other two sectors that turn up regularly: a turboprop does either in well under an hour in the air. For anything beyond those, Milan Linate at 173 nautical miles is a light-jet job, and the Croatian coast at Split, 169 nautical miles away across the Adriatic, is a popular add-on for a coastal holiday.

Before you accept an onward quote from Rimini

– Which airport at the other end. Milan and Rome each have more than one business airport, and a quote that names only the city is a quote that will change;

– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Rimini to Florence to Split over four days costs less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you and do not reposition to the coast between each stop.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Rimini:

Light jets, and where most bookings land

At two hours this is still the sensible class for four or five people with beach-weekend luggage. Nothing here lacks the range for Rimini, so the money goes on the hour and not on capability you will not use.

HondaJet Elite · 5 seatsfrom £1,900/h
Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h

Midsize, for family summers and trade-fair teams

A party of six with a fortnight of luggage, or a team carrying a stand and its samples, is what pushes a booking past the light-jet hold.

Learjet 75 Liberty · 8 seatsfrom £3,000/h
Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h

Super-midsize and large

For a group travelling as one party, for a team that works in the air, and for trips that carry on from the Adriatic to the Gulf or across the Atlantic rather than turning round.

Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h
Gulfstream G450 · 13 seatsfrom £5,800/h

Turboprops

The right aircraft for the hops from Rimini to Florence, Bologna or Venice: each is under an hour in the air, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large.

Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,650/h

Helicopters

online private jet directory

This is a small part of what is available. Rimini sits in the middle of the Italian and Adriatic fleet, so outside the high season there is usually an aircraft already within an hour of the coast, in Bologna, Venice, Florence or Croatia, and that is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Rimini

One airport does nearly all of the work. The others matter for specific reasons, and it helps to know them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.

Airport What it gives you
Rimini and San Marino, Federico Fellini
RMI / LIPR
The answer for almost every trip. About five kilometres south-east of the old town, with a single runway of 2,996 by 45 metres, the longest in Emilia-Romagna, so nothing we send is limited by length. It is run by the operator AIRiminum, serves as the main air gateway for San Marino, and handling is normally compulsory with slots to be coordinated. Italian Army helicopters are based on the field as well, which is worth knowing if the apron looks busier than the schedule suggests
Forlì, Luigi Ridolfi
FRL / LIPK
The alternative inland, about 47 km north-west of Rimini as the crow flies and about 4 km from the centre of Forlì. A 2,560 m runway takes any business jet. It earns its place when the trip is really to Forlì, Cesena or the Apennine foothills
Bologna, Guglielmo Marconi
BLQ / LIPE
The big airport of the region, about 120 km north-west as the crow flies. It is where we go when the real destination is Bologna itself, when Rimini cannot take the movement, or when an aircraft needs to be positioned from a base with more choice. The road to the Riviera makes it a second-best arrival for a beach holiday
Torraccia, San Marino
small general aviation field
San Marino's only aviation facility is a small general aviation field, used by light aircraft. A business jet does not use it. The country has no commercial airport of its own, and Rimini is its nearest
Ancona and Ravenna
AOI, RAN
Occasional alternatives named by charter operators for the central Adriatic. Neither is a rival to Rimini for a beach or racing trip, and we raise them only when a diversion or an onward leg calls for one

Four points settle most Rimini arrivals:

Choose the handler

Handling at Rimini is arranged through local agents, and published lists name more than one handling company alongside the airport operator. Service and pricing vary, and the lists do not agree with each other, so we ask the operator for its preference and confirm the handler in writing before you pay.

Hours, slots and noise

Published operating hours for the airport differ from one source to the next, with some showing a daytime window and others round-the-clock cover, and one handling guide mentions a night restriction for noisier aircraft. Slots are typically required. For a late departure or an older jet we confirm the hours and the permission in writing first.

Border and passport

Italy is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you pass passport control and customs on arrival. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport under ten years old and valid three months beyond the day you leave. On a first visit the border may ask for a photograph and fingerprints.

Car and late nights

Give us the handler as well as the flight, because a driver told only airport may wait at the wrong door. For race weekends and the Notte Rosa put the late car and crew in the quote from the start, since the seafront roads fill up and a late car is the first thing to run out.

business aviation

Border, passport and San Marino

San Marino is the one neighbour that changes the border story. It is a separate state, about ten kilometres inland of the coast and entirely surrounded by Italy, yet the border with Italy has no formalities, so you clear arrival at Rimini and drive up without stopping. Coaches from Rimini take about fifty minutes to the town on Monte Titano, and a private car is quicker. Visitors can buy a cancelled souvenir stamp for the passport at the tourist office, which is the nearest thing to a border post.

passport and customs paperwork for a private jet flight

From the apron to the Riviera

Rimini is a city of two halves. The old town has a Roman arch at one end and a bridge from the same century at the other, and the seafront runs for about fifteen kilometres of sand in front of more than a thousand hotels. The distances that matter run along the coast to Riccione, inland to San Marino, and out to the racing circuit.

Airport to the old town and the seafront
about five kilometres, which is why one airport carries almost all the traffic
typically 15 minutes
Airport to Riccione
the next town south, and the Miramare district sits between the two
typically 10 to 15 minutes
Rimini to San Marino
about ten kilometres inland of the coast; the public coach takes about fifty minutes
less than an hour by car
Rimini to the Misano circuit
beyond Riccione, in the province of Rimini
typically about 30 minutes
Rimini airport to Forlì airport
about 47 km as the crow flies, for a diversion or a late arrival
about 50 minutes by road
Rimini to Bologna by road
about 120 km as the crow flies, which is why Bologna is rarely worth a flight
typically 1 h 20 min

Flying to Rimini with a dog or a cat

Italy asks for more paperwork than the flight itself takes, and the flight is short enough that most animals sleep through it. The animal sits beside you in the cabin with no hold involved. What matters is that the health certificate is dated correctly, because it has a ten-day life from the day it is issued.

private flight with animals

What Italy, as an EU country, asks for:

  • An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time as it;
  • A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before entry;
  • An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, valid for ten days for entry to the EU and for the return to Britain as stated on the certificate. A pet passport issued in England, Scotland or Wales is not accepted for entry to the EU;
  • No more than five animals per traveller, presented at a travellers' point of entry, which we confirm in writing together with the paperwork before the flight;
  • For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt.

What catches owners out on the Rimini run

– Italy asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, only before the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book on the Riviera towards the end of the stay and not something you do before leaving. Count the hours back from the departure time when you book the vet, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and a Saturday flight needs a Thursday or Friday appointment;

– The certificate has to be a fresh one for each trip. On a long summer stay check that the rabies vaccination will still be in date for the return;

– A beach holiday with a dog is an ordinary booking. Settle the hotel, the beach club and any onward helicopter before the quote, because each one has to accept the animal separately.

Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the flight home, we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.

The Rimini calendar: a beach coast with a trade-fair habit

Rimini has two economies that barely overlap. Summer is the beach, the nights out and the long weekends, and the rest of the year belongs to the exhibition centre, the racing calendar and the culture the city carries around with it. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.

January
Sigep, a large food-service trade fair at the Rimini exhibition centre, opens the exhibition year. Traffic is business and mostly mid-week, in a city where only a fraction of the hotels, a little over two hundred of more than a thousand, stay open all year
May
RiminiWellness, along with Expodental Meeting and Enada Spring, fills the fairground. Visitors come for the trade shows and the hotels are not yet in their summer rush
June
The World Superbike round at the Misano circuit, next to Misano Adriatico, brings a race crowd to the coast ahead of the main summer season
Early July
The Notte Rosa weekend: concerts, exhibitions and fireworks across the whole Riviera Romagnola, with an estimated two million visitors. Hotels, cars and the apron at the airport are all full at once
Late August
The Rimini Meeting, a week of talks and exhibitions at the exhibition centre run by the Communion and Liberation movement, draws tens of thousands in person. Italian ministers and, in some editions, the President of the Republic attend, so book early if your dates fall in that week
September
The San Marino and Rimini Riviera MotoGP weekend at Misano, a 4.226 km circuit. It falls late in the beach season, the roads and hotels are full, and it is a weekend when helicopter transfers are in heavy demand
October
TTG Travel Experience, a three-day travel-trade fair at the exhibition centre, open to trade visitors only
Autumn to spring
The quiet Rimini: the Fellini Museum, the Arch of Augustus and the Tiberius Bridge without the crowds, and the easiest time of year to charter an aircraft at short notice

Why a summer weekend costs more

Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Rimini is well placed in it. What gets tight is slots and apron space at a single-runway airport, plus hotels and good cars, all in the same weekend. A booking made a fortnight before the Notte Rosa or the MotoGP weekend can still be done, but it pays more, and it may mean an aircraft positioned from Bologna or Venice. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Rimini is one of the easier Italian coasts to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.

Ways to bring the Rimini price down

  • Move the dates a few days where you can. The weekend after the Notte Rosa is calmer, and so are the first weeks of September before the race;
  • Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Bologna, Venice or Croatia takes less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful share of the bill;
  • Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved buys the car and the hotel.

Types of flights

Rimini produces a different mix from the Alpine or the big-city destinations we cover, because the coast serves families and race fans in summer and trade visitors for the rest of the year.

  • Beach holidays and villa weeks from June to early September, mostly families and groups of friends, with the luggage and the dog that come with them;
  • Race weekends for Superbike in June and MotoGP in September at Misano, where the party often wants a helicopter transfer for the last stretch;
  • Trade-fair and conference travel to the exhibition centre, with fixed dates and a delegation that needs to arrive together;
  • Culture and city breaks to the Fellini Museum, the Roman monuments and the hill town of San Marino;
  • Yacht-week and Adriatic loops that pair Rimini with Split and the Croatian coast;
  • Day trips from London, which at about two hours each way are a long day but a workable one.

The day trip is worth a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it usually still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Leaving at seven and coming back at nine in the evening gives you a full working day on the Adriatic and a bed in your own house, and on this route we quote it both ways so the difference is visible.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Rimini route they follow the seasons, and it helps to know what produces them.

Where Rimini empty legs come from

– Summer weekends. Aircraft bring guests for a villa week or the Notte Rosa and leave empty on the Sunday, and that evening leg back towards London or Milan is the one most often offered;

– Race and fair weeks. After the MotoGP weekend or a large exhibition, aircraft that brought delegations leave the coast empty for their bases, which produces outbound legs for a day or two afterwards;

– Adriatic rotation. Operators positioning between Croatia, Venice and the Riviera put short Italian legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.

Because the coast is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Rimini match the day an operator releases it.

empty legs

Helicopter charter

In Rimini a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The coast is flat and the hotels are close to the airport, so a car does the main job; rotary flight earns its fee at the racing circuit, on the hills of San Marino and on the longer jump across the Apennines.

Rimini to the Misano circuit
the standard race-weekend transfer, against the traffic on the coast road
typically 10 to 15 minutes
Rimini to San Marino
a view of Monte Titano on the way, in place of the climb by road
typically 15 to 20 minutes
A coastal sightseeing loop
the old town, the seafront and the long beach towards Riccione and back
typically 30 minutes
Rimini to Bologna
67 nm, a transfer for a Bologna meeting when the road is the problem
about 45 minutes
Rimini to Florence
65 nm over the Apennines, weather and a twin-engine machine permitting
about 40 minutes

Before you plan around a helicopter

– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. Landings outside an aerodrome need an authorised site, so a hotel lawn, a beach club or a private villa has its status confirmed before we quote and not after;

– Weather sets the schedule. Haze, low cloud on the hills and summer storms can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;

– On a race weekend or the Notte Rosa book the helicopter together with the jet, or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.

The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for hill work, the wider H130 for scenic and villa transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Rimini charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK

A morning meeting on the Riviera and home for dinner

Biggin Hill - Rimini and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 05 min each way · 4 pax

Wheels up at seven, on the ground a little after ten local time, a car to the seafront and a working lunch. The aircraft and crew waited at the airport rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and usually still comes in below two separate one-way charters. Back at Biggin Hill late in the evening. It is a long day and it works.

SUMMER WEEKEND · THE NOTTE ROSA

Six friends and a villa near Riccione

Farnborough - Rimini, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 55 min · 6 pax

They chose an early-July weekend without knowing what else was on, and found the hotels full and the roads slow. The villa was the saving grace; the handler confirmed the slot with the outbound and the car was waiting on the apron. A booking made earlier would have cost less, and we said so.

MOTORSPORT · THE CIRCUIT BY HELICOPTER

A hospitality group for the September MotoGP

London City - Rimini, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 05 min · 6 pax

Dates fixed by the racing calendar and a party that wanted the circuit gate and not the traffic. The jet went to Rimini, a helicopter took them across to Misano each morning, and the same aircraft waited for the Sunday evening departure. The helicopter was booked in the same exchange as the jet, which is the only way it works.

TRADE FAIR · FIXED DATES

A delegation for an October travel-trade show

London Luton - Rimini, Citation XLS+, about 2 h · 8 pax

The dates were set by the fair and not by the client. Eight people, sample cases and a request for a car at the aircraft door. The booking went in six weeks ahead, the handler confirmed the slot in advance, and the aircraft left Luton on time with nothing to explain.

SUMMER HOLIDAY · A DOG ON BOARD

Four adults and a spaniel for two weeks in August

Southampton - Rimini, Phenom 300E, about 2 h · 4 pax + dog

The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment on the coast for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages.

EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING NORTH

A jet already going your way

Rimini - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h · 3 pax

The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Rimini

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Rimini?

About 2 hours 5 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, and around 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours from Farnborough, Southampton or Luton in a Phenom, covering roughly 697 to 730 nautical miles. From Bristol or Birmingham allow about 2 hours 10 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes. Italy is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly after ten local time.

2How much does a private jet to Rimini cost?

From about £9,850 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, and £9,900 from London City. A Phenom from Farnborough or Luton runs £10,150 to £10,250, a midsize cabin costs £13,550 to £13,600 from Bristol and Birmingham, and from Scotland allow £20,200 to £20,650. The Notte Rosa weekend, the MotoGP weekend and the big trade-fair weeks price above these figures.

3Which airport should a private jet use for Rimini?

Rimini and San Marino Federico Fellini (RMI / LIPR) for almost every trip. It is about five kilometres from the old town, has a single 2,996 m runway and takes any business jet, though slots and handling are typically required. Forlì (FRL / LIPK) is the inland alternative about 47 km away as the crow flies, and Bologna (BLQ / LIPE) is the big regional airport about 120 km away, useful when the real destination is Bologna.

4When should I book a private jet to Rimini?

Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the Notte Rosa in early July, the late-August Meeting and the September MotoGP weekend at Misano, and for the big exhibition weeks, allow four to six weeks. Slots, apron space, hotels and cars all get tight in the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from another city.

5Can I fly on from Rimini to San Marino, Bologna or Florence?

San Marino needs no flight: it is about ten kilometres inland of the coast, the border with Italy has no formalities, and a car takes less than an hour. Bologna is 67 nautical miles from Rimini and Florence 65, so a Pilatus PC-12 does either in under an hour; the Apennines between Rimini and Florence make the flight worthwhile. A helicopter to the Misano circuit typically takes 10 to 15 minutes.

6Can I take my dog to Rimini on a private jet?

Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and Italy, as an EU country, asks for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
