Private jet charter to Oslo
Oslo is the shortest Nordic sector Britain has: an hour and fifty minutes from the London fields and an hour and twenty-six from Aberdeen, which makes it one of the least expensive capitals on this site to reach. The catch is at the far end, where the general aviation terminal keeps hours rather than running around the clock. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The aircraft we quote for Oslo sit at the London fields, in Scotland and across the Nordic capitals, and Aberdeen is the shortest British run to Norway.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter to Oslo depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Every price on this page is indicative and put together the way a real quote is: a named aircraft on a named sector, the passenger count shown. The tables below give current levels, and a personal calculation takes our consultant about 20 minutes through any form here.
How long does it take to fly to Oslo?
An hour and fifty minutes from Luton over a sector of 629 nautical miles, and an hour twenty-six from Aberdeen, which is the shortest British run to Norway. Edinburgh works out at an hour thirty-seven, Manchester an hour forty-six and Stansted an hour forty-eight. Gardermoen sits thirty-five kilometres north east of the city, about forty minutes by road or twenty on the airport express train.

Two things that move the price on this route
– The terminal hours. Gardermoen’s general aviation facilities do not run around the clock, and an arrival or departure outside them needs coordinating in advance and sometimes costs more. It is the single most common thing that reshapes an Oslo itinerary, and it is dealt with at the quote stage rather than on the day;
– The ski weeks and the Easter exodus. Norway empties into the mountains at Easter and through the February half term, and the domestic legs onward to the Norwegian resorts tighten well before the inbound sector does. Where dates are flexible, ask us to check the empty legs: the Nordic circuit leaves aircraft positioned all over Scandinavia.

Private jets are ready to take off
Our database holds over 6500 business jets. On a sector this short range stops being the question and the choice comes down to seats, hold space and whether anything continues north afterwards:
Turboprops
Genuinely useful in Norway, unlike most of our destinations. The country runs on short strips along the coast and up the valleys, and a PC-12 reaches places no jet can once you are past Oslo.
Light jets
What most of this route flies on. Under two hours from the London fields sits comfortably inside a Citation CJ3+, and the light classes make Oslo one of the cheaper capitals we quote.
Super-midsize
Booked for eight with winter luggage, or where the itinerary continues north the same day. Ski equipment is the usual reason to move up a class on this sector rather than distance.
Heavy jets
What the corporate traffic uses between London and the Norwegian energy and shipping groups, which is steadier business here than anything seasonal.
Ultra-long range
Seen at Gardermoen on inbound legs from North America and the Gulf, and on the sovereign wealth and shipping business that keeps Oslo better connected than its size suggests.

This is only a part of what is available. The aircraft on your contract is chosen for the sector and the date, and where a Norwegian domestic leg follows we plan both together rather than separately.

Business aviation airports in Oslo
Three fields carry the Oslo name and only one of them is a serious answer. Gardermoen is the airport: thirty-five kilometres north east of the city, two runways of 3,600 and 2,950 metres, and the general aviation handling that this traffic needs. The other two lie south of the city rather than north of it, and neither is a straightforward substitute.
two runways, 3,600 m and 2,950 m, all business aircraft categories35 km to the city
the point that most often reshapes an Oslo itinerarystaffed hours, not around the clock
the alternative when Gardermoen will not work for your times110 km south, an hour and a half by road
no scheduled traffic since 2023 and business use there is limited60 km south
The thing to settle before you book
Gardermoen’s general aviation facilities keep hours rather than operating continuously, which is unusual for a capital city airport and catches people out. A late evening arrival or an early departure has to be coordinated in advance, and occasionally the answer is Sandefjord Torp instead. It is not a difficulty so much as a question to ask first, and we ask it at the quote stage rather than discovering it on the day.
The airport itself is straightforward once you are inside it. Handling is well established, Sundt Air among others operates here and was the first Scandinavian FBO awarded the top IS-BAH safety grade, and the winter equipment is what you would expect from a country where snow is a season rather than an event. Gardermoen very rarely closes for weather. What it does do is de-ice, and that lengthens the turnaround rather than the flight.
Where people go from the ramp
– The city centre, about forty minutes by road or twenty on the airport express train, which is the fastest way in and used by most arrivals;
– Lillehammer and the Gudbrandsdalen valley, an hour and a half north, and the route to the Norwegian ski country;
– The Oslofjord and the summer houses along both shores, an hour or so in either direction;
– Bergen and the western fjords, forty-five minutes further by air across the mountains, which by road is a day.

Flying to Oslo with a dog or a cat
Norway is outside the European Union but inside the pet travel arrangement, so the documents are the familiar set. The requirement that differs is the worming, and Norway asks for it in both directions rather than only on the way home.
What Norway asks for on the way in:
- An ISO 11784/11785 microchip, implanted before the rabies vaccination rather than after it;
- A rabies vaccination given at least 21 days before entry, the animal being 12 weeks old or more when it was administered;
- An EU Animal Health Certificate from a UK government-authorised veterinarian, issued within 10 days of arrival and valid for the journey home for up to four months;
- Tapeworm treatment for dogs before arrival in Norway, administered and recorded by a vet in Britain within the permitted window;
- Praziquantel again from a Norwegian vet 24 to 120 hours before landing back in Britain. Dogs only; cats are exempt from both.
Two appointments rather than one
Norway protects itself against the fox tapeworm by requiring treatment on entry as well as on exit, which means the first dose has to be given by your own vet in Britain before you leave rather than by a Norwegian one after you arrive. Miss it and the problem appears at the border rather than at the vet. We set both timings out in writing for your dates before the booking is taken.
Three things about Norway with a dog
– The country is unusually easy once you are in. Dogs are on the trains, in a large share of the hotels and on every forest path around the city, and the Norwegian assumption is that a dog walks a long way rather than sits;
– Winter needs equipment. Oslo runs well below freezing from December, the pavements are salted and gritted, and short-coated breeds want a coat and paw wax rather than optimism;
– The mountains have rules of their own. Loose dogs are prohibited across most of Norway from April to August because of grazing sheep and ground-nesting birds, which surprises visitors who expected the opposite from a country this empty.
Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are set out on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the current position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
Types of flights
Our company provides all types of business flights. Due to a wide variety of jets, we can arrange:
- private flights;
- corporate flights;
- business class flights;
- concert tours;
- medical flights (with doctors and special equipment on board);
- tourist flights for large and small groups;
- sports charters for teams and coaching staff;
- combined flights (partly by business jet, and partly by helicopter);
- exclusive flights on luxury jets for businessmen, celebrities, and politicians;
- cargo flights, etc.
A flexible approach and a wide experience allow us to solve problems of any complexity. In 90% of cases, we manage to arrange urgent flights (on the day of application). But to be sure, we recommend you send a request at least 2-5 days before the desired date of departure.

Empty Legs
Another way to fly cheaper is to use Empty Legs. This service allows you to save on regular charter rates. As you know, part of the flights is one-way (for example, when the passenger flies from England to Oslo). After the flight, the jet returns to its home base (for example, to London Farnborough airport) empty. Such flight is called “Empty Legs”. Empty leg flights can be as cheap as 50-75% off the standard charter price. This option is profitable for both the passengers and the charter companies. The clients can enjoy the services of business aviation at a very good price, while the airlines recoup part of the cost of fuel and jet maintenance.
It is almost impossible to find Empty Leg flights, as the information about them is stored in special databases available only to the aviation brokers and specialized companies. You should know that Empty Leg flights offer the same service as private jet charters. The passengers enjoy a 100% private jet flying experience. Services and flight conditions are discussed individually. We should note that our company cooperates with the world’s largest home bases, so we can offer our clients a wide choice of return flights. Just send a request to our manager who will help you find the best flight options. Please note that Empty Leg flights are sold out very quickly. To avoid such a problem, you can leave us a deposit, and we will contact you as soon as the flight of your choice becomes available. For additional information, check with the operators.

Jet Sharing
Today, Jet Sharing is just as popular as private jet charter. This service involves the joint rental of a business jet with other passengers (that is, the cost of the flight is divided equally between all passengers of a specific flight). This type of flight has become especially popular in the last few years. Many people like Jet Sharing because it allows you to enjoy all benefits of business aviation at favorable prices.
We should note that the number of passengers per Jet Sharing flight varies from 3 to 8, while the cost of the flight ranges from 1200 to 6000 pounds (depending on the destination). This way, you can get a comfortable flight on a business jet (and maybe even meet new business partners) at a very good price. You can check out the schedule of Jet Sharing flights by filling in the online form or contacting our operators by phone or WhatsApp.
Main advantages of this service:
- All privileges of business aviation, including the use of the business aviation terminal and the check-in 30 minutes before the flight, are retained;
- You can also use the services of the VIP Lounge (included in the price of the flight);
- No baggage restrictions;
- Affordable price: jet sharing is much cheaper than private jet charter;
- Pets can be carried directly in the aircraft cabin.
Our consultants will be happy to help you choose the best flight.

Helicopter charter
Norway is a country where the map lies about distance. Bergen is four hundred and sixty road kilometres from Oslo and the best part of seven hours, because the mountains are in the way, and the same applies in smaller measure to half the places people actually want to reach. That is where a rotary leg earns its cost here rather than in the run into the city. These are the legs we arrange most:
forty minutes by road, twenty on the express train, so seldom worth flyingabout 12 minutes
an hour or more by road and boat along either shore15 to 25 minutes
an hour and a half north by roadabout 30 minutes
Trysil, Hemsedal and Geilo, three hours or more by road35 to 50 minutes
seven hours by road across the mountainsabout 1 hour 20
The machines that work these routes
– Airbus H125, the mountain single behind most Norwegian transfer and utility work, and the type you will see most often on the valley runs;
– Airbus H145 and AgustaWestland AW139 for a larger party and for anything crossing high ground in winter, where twin engines and instrument capability stop being a preference;
– The operators here fly search and rescue and offshore work alongside charter, which is why the crews handle conditions that would ground a resort operation further south.
Two points on Norwegian rotary legs
– Weather over the mountains closes them more often than anything else. On the Bergen and ski resort runs we book a car alongside as a matter of routine, and on those distances the alternative is a long day rather than an hour;
– Winter daylight is short but not absent this far south. Oslo keeps around six hours of usable light in late December, which is enough for a planned transfer and not enough for an improvised one.

Flight payment options
The main goal of our company is to provide the highest level of comfort to our customers. Therefore, we’re always ready to meet you halfway. Our consultants will offer you a wide variety of flights to meet your needs and budget. Most customers prefer a non-cash method (a transfer to an EU bank account), which guarantees a high level of confidentiality and security of payment. All payment details are provided in advance, so you’ll have enough time to make the necessary checks. For years of working in business aviation, our company has gained an impeccable reputation. We practice transparency and are always ready to present all necessary documents.
Private Jet UK works with both physical and legal entities. We guarantee the confidentiality and security of payments. You can pay for the flights from Oslo in any convenient way:
- cashless (by transfer to our account);
- by cash;
- by card;
- by cryptocurrency.
Our company works with European and British banks, which allows you to choose the most convenient payment method. In addition, we conclude formal agreements and provide our clients with all necessary documents and invoices, which guarantees the safe payment and delivery of services. If you have any financial questions, feel free to contact our private aviation consultants.
If you need to book an urgent flight, please keep in mind that the bank transfer can take a few days. In such situations, we may need to involve our partner companies so that you can pay for your flight in cash. If you have any questions, you can contact your personal consultant 24/7.

Oslo charters we have flown: six trips from the booking notes
Written up from our brokers’ own notes. Initials replace names, and details are altered where a client would otherwise be identifiable. The prices are what those bookings cost and the flight times match the tables above.
TERMINAL HOURS · THE QUESTION WE ASK FIRST
Mr H. B.: a late arrival that needed rearranging
London Luton - Oslo, Citation CJ3+, 1 h 50 min · 5 passengers
He wanted to land at Gardermoen after eleven at night and the general aviation terminal does not run to that hour. We flagged it at the quote stage, moved the departure forward by two hours, and nothing about the trip changed. Had it surfaced on the day it would have meant Sandefjord Torp and an hour and a half of driving. About 6,100 GBP.
SCOTLAND · THE SHORTEST NORDIC RUN
An Aberdeen energy group: five people and a working day
Aberdeen - Oslo, Citation M2, 1 h 26 min · 5 passengers
Four hundred and fifty one nautical miles is the shortest run from Britain to Norway, and the oil business between these two cities has kept it busy for half a century. Out at half past seven, meetings from ten, home the same evening. Around 3,900 GBP each way, which is the cheapest line in the table above.
SKI · THE LEG THAT MATTERS
The N. family: Oslo was the arrival, not the destination
Manchester - Oslo, Citation CJ3+, 1 h 46 min · 6 passengers
February half term, and the actual destination was Hemsedal three hours up the valley. We planned the helicopter alongside the jet, which in that fortnight is the leg under pressure rather than the inbound flight. About 5,900 GBP for the jet with the rotary quoted separately.
PET · TWO WORMING APPOINTMENTS
Mrs R. T.: a labrador and the rule she had not met
Edinburgh - Oslo, Citation M2, 1 h 37 min · 2 passengers and a dog
Norway wants tapeworm treatment on the way in as well as on the way home, and most owners have never encountered it. Hers was given by her own vet in Britain before departure and the second in Oslo before the return. Neither was difficult; missing the first would have meant a problem at the border.
NORDIC HOP · FROM GOTHENBURG
A Swedish party: forty-three minutes across the border
Gothenburg - Oslo, Citation M2, 0 h 43 min · 4 passengers
A hundred and fifty six nautical miles, and the cheapest sector on this page at about 2,300 GBP. The Scandinavian hops are short enough that the ground time at either end outweighs the flying, which is the argument for a private aircraft rather than against it.
CORPORATE · SHIPPING AND ENERGY
A London group: eight people and a board meeting
London Stansted - Oslo, Citation CJ3+, 1 h 48 min · 8 passengers
The steadiest business on this route is not tourism. Oslo runs Norwegian shipping, energy and the sovereign wealth fund, and the London traffic follows all three. Booked three days out, in and back the same day, about 6,000 GBP each way.
Oslo as a destination
Oslo is a capital of seven hundred thousand people at the head of a fjord, with forest on three sides and the sea on the fourth, and the city boundary encloses more woodland than built ground. Norwegians treat that as ordinary. The marka, the forest belt around the city, has lit ski trails through the winter and is reachable by underground railway from the centre, which is not a sentence that applies to many capitals.
The city has changed more in twenty years than in the previous hundred. Oil money built the opera house you can walk up the roof of, the waterfront at Tjuvholmen and Aker Brygge, and the new Munch museum that half the city disliked on sight. What has not changed is the temperament: understated, outdoors, and unimpressed by display, which visitors from other wealthy capitals notice quickly.
The business here is serious and it is why a good share of the aircraft on this page arrive. Norwegian shipping, offshore energy and the sovereign wealth fund all run out of Oslo, and the London traffic follows them steadily through the year rather than seasonally. The leisure half is winter: the city is the gateway to the Norwegian ski resorts up the valleys, and at Easter the entire country goes there.
Where to stay
- The Thief. On the water at Tjuvholmen with the art collection to match its neighbours, and the address most often asked for by clients arriving on this page;
- Hotel Continental. The grand hotel of 1900 opposite the National Theatre, family-owned for four generations and the most formal thing in a city that does not do formal;
- Amerikalinjen. In the old Norwegian America Line headquarters by the central station, and the best of the newer conversions;
- Sommerro. A restored 1930s power company building in Frogner, with the original bathhouse reopened underneath it;
- The Oslofjord hotels at Son and Sandefjord, an hour south, for a summer stay on the water rather than in the city;
- Onward up the valleys to Hemsedal, Trysil or Geilo, which in February and at Easter is where a good share of our passengers are actually going.
What to do
- Walk up the opera house. The roof is a public square that slopes into the fjord, and it is the single best thing the oil money built;
- The Munch and the National Museum, which between them hold the paintings everyone comes for and a good deal more that they do not expect;
- The Fram and Kon-Tiki museums at Bygdoy, which explain the Norwegian relationship with cold water better than anything written;
- Ski from the metro. Holmenkollen and the marka trails start where the underground line ends, and they are lit until nine at night through the winter;
- The fjord islands in summer, fifteen minutes by public ferry from the city hall, where Oslo swims;
- Eat. The city went from provincial to serious inside a generation, and the seafood is the reason.
When the city is busy
- The Easter week, when Norway closes entirely and moves to the mountains, and the onward legs are the constraint rather than the inbound flight;
- February half term, for the same reason on a smaller scale;
- The Holmenkollen ski festival in March, which fills the city for a weekend;
- Midsummer and the July holiday, when Norwegians leave the city for the coast and the capital is quieter than at any other time;
- The Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in December, which occupies a narrow slice of the calendar and the whole of the city hall.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Oslo
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Oslo?
An hour and fifty minutes from Luton on a Citation CJ3+ over the 629 nautical mile sector, and an hour forty-eight from Stansted. From Aberdeen it is an hour twenty-six, the shortest British run to Norway; from Edinburgh an hour thirty-seven and from Manchester an hour forty-six.
2How much does a private jet to Oslo cost?
From about 3,900 GBP one way from Aberdeen on a Citation M2 and 4,400 GBP from Edinburgh, rising to around 5,900 GBP from Manchester and 6,100 GBP from Luton on a CJ3+. This is a short sector that the light classes cover completely, which makes Oslo one of the cheaper capitals on this site to reach.
3Is Gardermoen open around the clock for private flights?
The airport is, and its general aviation facilities are not. They keep staffed hours rather than operating continuously, which is unusual for a capital city and is the thing that most often reshapes an Oslo itinerary. A late evening arrival or an early departure needs coordinating in advance, and occasionally the answer is Sandefjord Torp instead. We settle it at the quote stage.
4What about Torp and Rygge?
Sandefjord Torp is a genuine alternative at a hundred and ten kilometres south, roughly an hour and a half by road, and it is where we go when Gardermoen will not work for your times. Moss Rygge is closer at sixty kilometres but has had no scheduled traffic since 2023 and business aviation use there is limited, so we do not quote it as a default.
5Can I bring my dog?
Yes, in the cabin with you and with no weight limit, but Norway asks for tapeworm treatment on the way in as well as on the way home. The outbound dose has to be given by your own vet in Britain within the permitted window before arrival, and the second by a Norwegian vet before the flight back. Two appointments rather than one, and we set the timings out in writing.
