Private jet charter in Ras Al Khaimah
A jet leaving the London fields in the morning can put its passengers down at the northern tip of the UAE for roughly the price of a Dubai sector, with the beach, the golf course and the mountain all within an hour of the apron. That is the whole case for Ras Al Khaimah, and it is a good one. Private Jets UK arranges the charter from the first quote to the car at the aircraft door. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The emirate's own airport has a single runway of about 3,760 m, an air traffic tower and customs on the field, and as a modest airline airport it does not leave a private arrival queuing for a stand. The decisions that remain are the cabin for a seven-hour sector, the week, and whether the stay is a resort break, a golf week or a day in the Hajar Mountains.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Ras Al Khaimah depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Praetor 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Ras Al Khaimah?
Allow about seven and a half hours in the air. A Praetor 600 from Biggin Hill or Stansted needs seven hours 20 minutes, the Midlands and the north of England add ten to fifteen minutes, and Glasgow takes closer to eight hours. The distance runs from 3,071 to 3,282 nautical miles, counted with an allowance for the routing, which is beyond any light or midsize jet that flies without a fuel stop. The Gulf keeps one time all year, four hours ahead of Britain in winter and three in summer because the UAE does not change its clocks. The table gives the sector from each British field we use, flown nonstop to Ras Al Khaimah International.

Door to door, and where the evening goes
Push off from Biggin Hill at nine and you are on the ground in Ras Al Khaimah between seven and half past eight in the evening, local time, depending on the season. The airport lies about 20 km south of the town, the tourist board lists the town centre at around 20 minutes by car, and the airport itself describes the major resort destinations as about 15 minutes away. Customs sits on the field, so a party with ordinary luggage can be in a hotel lobby within the hour. Heading home the aircraft meets the prevailing westerlies, and the same sector usually runs 20 to 30 minutes longer, but a morning departure from the Gulf still lands in Britain in the afternoon.
Permits and routing: what we settle before the quote is firm
The corridor between Britain and the Gulf crosses several states, and the operator chooses it, with the overflight permissions, fuel plan and insurance terms following. Landing permission for a non-scheduled flight comes from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, and handlers describe a lead time of two to three working days, shorter for an overflight permit; for a standard trip they suggest filing 24 to 48 hours ahead. Conditions in the wider region can alter a preferred routing at short notice. We therefore treat a Ras Al Khaimah quote as conditional until the operator has confirmed the route, the permits and the arrival arrangements in writing, and we suggest reading the FCDO travel advice for the UAE before you commit.
Which cabin for a seven-hour sector
– A super-midsize jet is the practical floor from Britain. The Embraer Praetor 600 has a published range of about 4,000 nautical miles with four passengers, which covers every sector in the table with a reserve, and it is the aircraft behind the prices on this page. The Challenger 350 is published at about 3,200 and runs close to its limit from the north, so we quote it for lighter loads or with a stop;
– Light and most midsize jets cannot make the distance in one hop. A stop adds roughly an hour, a second set of fees and a second permit, so the hourly saving shrinks to little;
– For ten passengers or more, or when the party wants to sleep on the way home, we price a large-cabin or long-range jet next to the Praetor. A Global 6000 or a Gulfstream G450 or G550 is the usual comparison on this run, and the extra money buys a proper bed on the westbound leg.

Prices for the private jet flights to Ras Al Khaimah
Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all flown nonstop in a super-midsize jet into Ras Al Khaimah International. The winter high season, the golf and marathon weeks and the festive fortnight sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Ras Al Khaimah costs about the same to reach as Dubai, because the two lie on almost the same bearing from Britain and the sector is the same length within a few miles. A Praetor 600 out of Biggin Hill is £48,800; the same aircraft out of Glasgow is £51,950, a difference of about £3,150. On a sector this long the flying dominates the bill, so the starting airfield matters less than the aircraft. A large-cabin or long-range jet moves the whole table up, and a round trip with the aircraft waiting at the resort is priced differently from two single legs. We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. Short hops that are not short on paper
Dubai World Central is only 63 nautical miles from Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi 112, so the flying is a matter of 40 to 45 minutes. The paperwork does not shrink with the distance. Each state issues its own landing permission, and the minimum charge for a short flight is set by the crew and the aircraft, not by the miles. For most guests a car on the E311 is the sensible way to reach Dubai, and the jet earns its keep on Muscat at 183 nautical miles, Doha at 245, Bahrain at 300 and Riyadh at 523.
Before you accept an onward quote from the UAE
– Which field the quote starts from. Ras Al Khaimah International, Sharjah and the two Dubai airports are all within reach of the same hotel, and a driver given only the name of the emirate may wait at the wrong one. The airport and the handler go into our offer by name;
– Which week. Permits, parking and the better cars tighten around the February sports fortnight and the festive period, and a late change is harder to make. We ask for the permit status in writing before we price a leg that falls on a busy date;
– Whether the trip is one booking. Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and back over a long weekend costs less as one itinerary, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of repositioning between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.

Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Ras Al Khaimah:
Super-midsize, the practical way from Britain
The aircraft with the range to fly the sector nonstop and no more cabin than the party needs. Range depends on load, and the operator confirms the fuel plan for your passenger count before the offer is final.
Large cabins, for bigger parties
For ten or more passengers, or a family with a lot of luggage and golf bags. Where a full cabin cannot make the sector in one hop we plan a lighter load or a stop and show both figures.
Long-range heavies, for sleep and space
A proper bed for the westbound leg, a cabin for a delegation and range to spare. The sensible choice when the same aircraft carries on to Asia or back to the Americas.
Light and midsize jets, for the legs from the emirate
The right aircraft for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and the neighbouring Gulf capitals. From Britain they need a stop, so we quote them only for regional hops.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch, to a resort or across to Dubai. Landing sites and permits are agreed in advance, and the machine is chosen for the task once the site is confirmed.

This is a small part of what is available. The Gulf has a large home-grown business jet fleet, with operators based in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the neighbouring capitals, and outside the winter peak there is sometimes an aircraft already in the region whose positioning we can share. For the flight out from Britain, though, the jet usually comes from a European base, and the positioning is part of the quote.

Business aviation airports for Ras Al Khaimah
One airport is the obvious answer and three more are worth knowing. They differ in purpose, and a quote that names the wrong one costs the guests an hour on the road.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Ras Al Khaimah International RKT / OMRK |
The emirate's own airport, about 20 km south of the town and the one we use for almost every trip to the coast. A single asphalt runway of 3,760 m (12,336 ft), an ILS approach, an air traffic tower and airport operations listed as round the clock, with customs available and the field named as an airport of entry. Slots and handling are listed as not required, although the landing permit is, and several flight-support firms offer to supervise the handling. The airport has also announced a private aviation complex with a terminal and hangar developed with Falcon Executive Aviation, so we confirm in writing which arrival arrangement is open on your date |
| Dubai World Central DWC / OMDW |
The Dubai business aviation field, typically an hour and a half or so by road from the town of Ras Al Khaimah. Useful when the party is split between Dubai and the coast, or when Dubai is the real destination and Ras Al Khaimah is an excursion. It has a runway of about 4,500 m, round-the-clock customs and handlers' lounges, and slots and handling are both listed as mandatory |
| Sharjah International SHJ / OMSJ |
Listed at around 60 km and 35 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah, the nearest alternative for a party that wants a different arrival without going on to Dubai. It is open round the clock as an airport of entry, handling is mandatory and slots are listed as not required. A runway of about 4,060 m (13,320 ft) takes any aircraft on this page |
| Dubai International DXB / OMDB |
The big airline hub, which is listed as slot-coordinated and parking-restricted. We use it only when a client has a reason to be at the city end of Dubai; for the coast, Ras Al Khaimah International is far closer |
Four points settle most Ras Al Khaimah arrivals:
Choose the field for the purpose
For a stay on the coast or in the mountains, land at Ras Al Khaimah International. Dubai World Central is the right field when the party also has business in Dubai, and the road from Dubai to the coast takes about an hour and a quarter, a little more from the World Central side. We name the airport and the handler in the offer, so the car is waiting at the right apron.
Hours, slots and permits
The airport and its tower are listed as open round the clock, so a late arrival is possible, and slots and handling are listed as not required. The landing permit from the General Civil Aviation Authority is a different matter and takes two to three working days, so a short-notice trip is a matter of asking early.
Border and passport
British citizens can get a free visitor visa on arrival, for up to 90 days in any 180. The passport needs an expiry date at least six months after the day you arrive. Cash or financial instruments above AED 60,000, about £12,000, are declared on entry, and e-cigarettes are listed as restricted goods.
Car and the road
The airport is about 20 km from the town and the drive takes around 20 minutes. Give us the hotel's drop-off point as well as the airport. Some resorts on Al Marjan Island run an airport shuttle, and we arrange a private car and the driver's details for the terminal door instead.

Border, passport and the first hour
What the officers expect is in order before the aircraft leaves Britain: crew and passenger details and the general declaration filed with the handling agent, the landing permit confirmed, and a passport with six months left. UAE immigration clears crew and passengers on the field, and a party arriving on a private flight is usually through quickly because there are no queues of airline passengers. The free visitor visa is issued on arrival, but a visit visa does not allow work, and an overstay is fined for every day. Medication the UAE classes as narcotic needs approval in advance from the Ministry of Health, and the allowance is a supply of up to three months, so a traveller on prescription medicine should tell us early. On the way home Britain applies its own rule for private flights: the General Aviation Report is filed no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 2 hours before departure, and we file it for you.

From the apron to Al Marjan Island
Ras Al Khaimah is a strip of coast with a mountain behind it, and the resorts sit along the sea while the sights are inland. Most of what a guest does lies within a drive of about 40 minutes from the coast, which makes the choice of hotel more important than the choice of airport.
the airport is about 20 km south of the centre, on a road with little trafficabout 20 minutes
the island resorts, which the airport describes as about a quarter of an hour awayabout 15 minutes
the paved mountain road climbs from the edge of town to the zipline and viewing decks30 to 40 minutes
about 110 km on the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, which is the E311about 1 h 15 min
on the E311 about 70 km from Dubai, so a halfway stop for a family driving up from the south60 to 80 minutes from Marjan
What private clients do on the ground
Most of the traffic is leisure. The list is short and it is easier to plan once you know how the pieces fit together.
- Al Marjan Island: a man-made island with a run of beach resorts, among them Rixos Bab Al Bahr and Rixos Al Mairid, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hampton by Hilton, Mövenpick, Pullman, Radisson and The Cove Rotana. The island is the centre of the emirate's beach holiday. Wynn Al Marjan Island, a casino and hotel resort with a tower of about 1,530 rooms, 22 restaurants and bars, a theatre and a marina, is being built here, and we check its opening status when you book;
- Al Hamra: a self-contained residential and resort district with Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah on the beach, an 18-hole par-72 golf course designed by Peter Harradine, a marina and a yacht club. The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Hamra Beach is a villa resort of 32 beachfront villas with private pools;
- Jebel Jais: the highest mountain reached from the UAE side, with a launch point at about 1,680 m for Jais Flight, a zipline of 2.83 km that takes about three minutes and reaches speeds above 140 km/h. The rider must be at least 12, between 40 and 120 kg and at least 122 cm tall, and the whole visit takes 60 to 75 minutes. Beside it sit the Jais Sky Tour, a five-kilometre route over six ziplines, the Jais Sledder mountain coaster, a viewing deck park with seven platforms and telescopes, and 1484 by Puro, described as the highest restaurant in the UAE;
- Dhayah Fort: a twin-peaked mud-brick fort on a hill of about 70 m between the palm groves and the mountains, reached by a zigzag stair of more than a hundred steps. It was the scene of an early nineteenth-century battle between British troops and the local Qawasim, it sits on the UNESCO tentative list, and the climb has no lighting, so visit it in daylight;
- The mangroves: guided kayak trips run in the creeks near the town, and at Al Rams the Suwaidi Pearl Farm runs tours through the mangroves in a pearl diver's boat, with lunch on some of them;
- Dreamland Aqua Park: a 250,000 square metre water park with more than thirty slides, a wave pool and a lazy river. It stands in Umm Al Quwain, the next emirate south, not in Ras Al Khaimah, closes on Mondays and suits the drive up from Dubai better than a stay on the coast.
A plan that works for a short stay
– Land at lunchtime, check in on Al Marjan Island or at Al Hamra and take the afternoon on the beach. The mountain wants a morning, because the light is clearer and the road quieter;
– Book the zipline and the sledder for the same day. Guests park about half an hour before the session, take a shuttle and should plan on an hour or more at the top. The viewing deck is for sunset;
– Leave the fort and the mangroves for the last day, in the cooler hours. A morning at the old town and the National Museum, which is housed in a fort and is closed on Mondays, fits the hours before a mid-afternoon departure.
Flying to Ras Al Khaimah with a dog or a cat
The United Arab Emirates takes pets from Britain under a clear set of rules, but there are several steps and the order matters. The first practical step is the import permit, which the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment issues online once the flight date is confirmed.

What the UAE typically asks for when a dog or cat arrives from Britain:
- A MOCCAE import permit, applied for online after the travel date is fixed;
- An ISO microchip and a valid rabies vaccination, with the animal at least 12 weeks old;
- An official veterinary certificate endorsed by the British competent authority, which for Britain means an export health certificate;
- No more than two pets per person per year, two dogs, two cats or one of each, except for resident animals returning home;
- No entry for the banned breeds, a list that covers pit bull types including the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the mastiff types such as the Dogue de Bordeaux, Cane Corso and Presa Canario, the Japanese Tosa and their crosses, judged on appearance.
What catches owners out on this run
– The UAE places Britain on its low-risk list, so a rabies antibody blood test is not part of the entry requirement as we read it. The lists change, and the sources do not agree on every detail, such as the permit's validity period, so we confirm the position with the authority for your date and not from memory;
– The UAE rules describe pets as arriving as manifested cargo, and most animals enter through Dubai or Abu Dhabi. How that applies to a private aircraft, and whether Ras Al Khaimah can be the entry point for an animal, is not settled by a printed rule that we can point to. We confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight, and before the quote is accepted;
– The way home is a separate project. As we read the GOV.UK lists, the UAE is among the listed countries whose pets come to Britain without a rabies blood test, a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival and cats do not, and the travel document and declaration have to be in order. We check this on GOV.UK for the date of your return.
Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The calendar: a winter coast with a long hot summer
The emirate has two seasons for visitors. From about November to April the days are warm and the nights cool, the mountain is at its best and the events fill the diary. Summer is long and very hot on the coast, the mountains are cooler, and the diary is empty. The week you choose matters more than the aircraft.
Why February costs more
The cost is not in the flying. It is in the permit lead time, in the hotel rooms on Al Marjan Island and at Al Hamra, and in the cars, which all tighten in the same fortnight as the marathon and the golf. A booking made two weeks before the marathon can still be done, but at a premium and perhaps with an aircraft positioned from Europe. The same booking made two months earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside the winter fortnights, and in summer above all, Ras Al Khaimah is one of the easier places in the Gulf to arrange a flight.
Ways to bring the price down
- Move the dates by a few days, away from the marathon and golf fortnight and the festive weeks. The days in between are calmer and the permits are quicker to arrange;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits in the Gulf needs less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector this long positioning is a large share of the bill;
- Choose the cabin for the sector. A super-midsize jet flies the route without a stop, while a smaller one adds a stop, so the cheaper hourly rate is not always the cheaper trip;
- Book the return at the same time. A round trip with the aircraft waiting is priced differently from two single flights, and the difference is worth asking about.
Types of flights
The emirate produces a leisure-heavy mix that suits a private aircraft well, because the party often arrives together, with a lot of luggage and a plan that does not depend on an airline schedule.
- Family and winter-break travel from Britain between November and April, with a week or more at a beach resort and a day trip into the mountains;
- Golf and sports weeks, built around the February golf championship, the marathon and the triathlon, with bags, bikes and equipment in the hold;
- Weekend and incentive groups that use Ras Al Khaimah instead of Dubai for a quieter resort and a shorter transfer;
- Combined itineraries with Dubai or Abu Dhabi, where the jet lands on the coast and the business meetings are a drive or a helicopter hop away;
- Onward legs to Muscat, Doha, Bahrain, Riyadh or the Indian Ocean for clients whose aircraft carries on;
- Positioning flights, where a client travels on a leg that the aircraft was making anyway.
A same-day return from London is not a practical plan on this route. The aircraft and crew would spend the best part of a day in the air and the time on the ground would be short. A better pattern is to leave in the morning, spend a few nights on the coast and fly back with the aircraft waiting, which we quote next to two separate one-way flights so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Ras Al Khaimah route they follow the pattern of the winter season and the Gulf fleets, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Ras Al Khaimah empty legs come from
– Fortnight endings. When guests fly in for the marathon, the golf or the festive period, the aircraft often leave empty a day or two later, which produces outbound legs towards Britain and Europe in the days after;
– Gulf rotation. Aircraft that bring a party to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Muscat often come on to the coast empty, or go home empty from it, and the short regional legs between them can be cheap;
– Season turn. Towards the end of winter operators typically move their aircraft out of the Gulf and back to Europe, and legs towards Britain tend to appear then.
Because the long sector between Britain and the Gulf is flown less often than a European city pair, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Ras Al Khaimah match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
The helicopter has two jobs here. One is the transfer between Dubai and the coast, which operators quote at under half an hour against a road time of about an hour and a quarter. The other is the view: the mountain, the island and the coast are worth seeing from the air, and the Hajar range is much more dramatic from above than from the car.

Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. Each pick-up and set-down point needs the approval of the operator and the authorities, and a resort helipad is not the same as a licensed landing site, so the exact points are agreed before we quote, not after;
– The airport's private aviation complex is announced with a helipad, but we do not plan a trip around a facility until the operator confirms it is open on your date;
– Heat sets the schedule. In summer the hottest hours are hard on aircraft performance and on passengers, so early morning and evening are the sensible slots.
We do not publish a fixed fleet list for the UAE, because the machines that are available change with the operator and the task. Tell us the sites and the number of passengers, and we come back with the machine, the price and the permission status in one reply.

Ras Al Khaimah charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
GOLF WEEK · THE BAGS BOOKED THE HOLD
Four golfers for the tournament fortnight
Biggin Hill - Ras Al Khaimah, Praetor 600, about 7 h 20 min · 4 pax
Four players, four sets of clubs and the luggage of a ten-day stay. The party wanted to be at Al Hamra for the golf and booked in December for February. The landing permit was confirmed in writing, the handler was named in the offer, and the car met the aircraft at the apron.
FAMILY · A RESORT BREAK FOR THE HALF TERM
Two families and four children on Al Marjan Island
Farnborough - Ras Al Khaimah, Global 6000, about 6 h 50 min · 10 pax
Ten people and the luggage of two families asked for a large cabin, and the quote moved up from a Praetor to a Global for the space and the sleep on the way home. The aircraft stayed away from Britain for the week and the return was priced as part of the same booking.
A DAY ON THE MOUNTAIN · THE ZIPLINE AND THE SLEDDER
A group of six on a long weekend
London Luton - Ras Al Khaimah, Praetor 600, about 7 h 20 min · 6 pax
Landing at lunchtime, the party checked in, swam, and went up Jebel Jais the next morning for the zipline and the sledder. The age and weight limits were checked before the booking, because the youngest of the group was close to the limit, and the afternoon was left free for the fort.
A DOG ON BOARD · MONTHS OF PREPARATION
Two adults and a spaniel on a winter stay
Southampton - Ras Al Khaimah, Praetor 600, about 7 h 25 min · 2 pax + dog
The paperwork took longer than the flight. The permit, the microchip, the vaccination and the export certificate were sorted ahead, and we put the question of the entry point and the cabin arrangement to the authority and had it in writing before the offer was accepted.
COAST AND CITY · ONE BOOKING, TWO STOPS
Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and back over four days
Ras Al Khaimah - Abu Dhabi, Citation XLS+, about 45 min · 6 pax
A party met friends on the coast for two nights and then flew to Abu Dhabi for a business lunch. Booked as one itinerary, the aircraft and crew stayed with them instead of repositioning, and the landing permit for each state was requested on the same day.
EMPTY LEG · A JET ALREADY GOING YOUR WAY
The Gulf back to Britain at the end of the season
Ras Al Khaimah - London Luton, Praetor 600 empty leg, about 7 h 20 min · 4 pax
The aircraft had brought a party to the coast and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for the long sector.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Ras Al Khaimah
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Ras Al Khaimah?
About seven hours 20 minutes from Biggin Hill or Stansted (3,072 nautical miles) in a Praetor 600, and a few minutes more from Luton, Farnborough and Southampton. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about seven and a half hours, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow about seven hours 45 to 50 minutes. The Gulf is four hours ahead of Britain in winter and three in summer, so a nine o'clock departure lands between seven and half past eight in the evening, local time.
2How much does a private jet to Ras Al Khaimah cost?
From about £48,800 one way in a super-midsize jet out of Biggin Hill. Luton comes to £49,100, Birmingham to £50,000, Manchester to £50,450 and Glasgow to £51,950. A large-cabin or long-range jet costs considerably more, and the February sports fortnight and the festive weeks price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Ras Al Khaimah?
Ras Al Khaimah International (RKT / OMRK), about 20 km south of the town, with a single runway of about 3,760 m, airport operations listed as round the clock and customs on the field. Slots and handling are listed as not required, but the landing permit is. Dubai World Central (DWC) is the alternative when the party also has business in Dubai, an hour and a quarter or more by road, and we confirm the field and the handler in writing for each flight.
4Do I need a visa to fly to Ras Al Khaimah?
British citizens can get a free visitor visa when they arrive in the UAE, for up to 90 days in any 180. The passport must have an expiry date at least six months after the day of arrival. A visit visa does not allow work. Cash or financial instruments above AED 60,000, about £12,000, are declared on entry, and medication that the UAE classes as narcotic needs approval in advance.
5Can I take my dog to Ras Al Khaimah on a private jet?
Possibly, but the paperwork starts early. The UAE typically asks for an online import permit, a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination, a veterinary certificate endorsed by the British authority and no more than two pets per person per year, and it bans a list of breeds. The UAE rules describe animals as arriving as cargo, so we put the entry point and the cabin arrangement to the authority and confirm both in writing before the quote is accepted. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing.
6What should I check about routing and permits before I book?
Ask the operator for its planned route and any technical stop, the status of the landing permit from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, whether its insurers cover the route, and the cancellation and rerouting terms. Conditions in the region can change the routing and the insurance terms at short notice, so we treat a quote as conditional until the operator confirms in writing. We also suggest reading the FCDO travel advice for the UAE and telling your own insurer where you are going.
