Private jet charter to Moscow
Moscow is reached from Britain in two stages rather than one, and the connecting network that makes it work is well established. This page covers both: the charter we fly to the gateway, and everything on the ground at the other end, from Vnukovo-3 to travelling with a dog. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The aircraft we quote for these sectors sit at the London fields, in the North and in central Europe, which keeps positioning short on an eastbound run.
At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter towards Moscow depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Flying to Moscow from the UK: how the journey works
The trip is made in two stages, and the connecting network is well established
– Since March 2022 the United Kingdom and Russia have applied reciprocal airspace restrictions to each other’s operators, and the same pattern applies between Russia and the European Union, the United States and Canada. British-registered aircraft are not admitted to Russian airspace, and there have been no scheduled or charter services between the two countries since;
– United Kingdom sanctions separately restrict the provision of aviation services connected with Russia, and a charter arranged by a British company into a Russian airport falls within those restrictions. That is why the first leg of any itinerary we arrange ends at a gateway city rather than at Vnukovo;
– Moscow itself remains well connected. Around sixty foreign carriers serve Russian cities, and the network through the Caucasus, Central Asia and Turkey is dense and frequent. Yerevan, Baku, Astana and Tashkent are the CIS gateways our clients use most: the onward flights run several times a day, the airports are small enough to connect through quickly, and transit requirements are light for most nationalities.
Everything below is organised around that two-stage journey. We fly the first leg from any British airport, time it to the connection and arrange the ground side at the gateway; the onward flight is a scheduled service sold by the carrier operating it. The Vnukovo section further down covers the airport itself, because that is where the second leg lands and where the business aviation infrastructure sits.
Every price on this page is indicative and built the way a real quote is built: a named aircraft on a named sector, two passengers unless stated otherwise. The tables below show current levels, and a personal calculation takes our consultant about 20 minutes through any form here.
How long does it take to fly to Moscow?
London to Moscow in a straight line is 1,338 nautical miles, a little over three hours in a midsize cabin. That sector is not available to a British-arranged charter, so the practical answer is the sum of two legs, and the choice of gateway decides the total.
The times below are for the first leg, the part we fly. Add the connection and the onward sector for a door to door figure: from Yerevan the flight into Moscow is a little over two and a half hours, from Istanbul about two and a half, and from Astana around three.

From the gateway to Moscow
– Yerevan is 970 nautical miles from Moscow and 1,796 kilometres, with several carriers on the route and no visa needed by most nationalities for a short stay in Armenia;
– Baku is 1,039 nautical miles out, and the Azerbaijani flag carrier flies daily to Moscow, St Petersburg and Kazan;
– Astana at 1,244 nautical miles and Tashkent at 1,518 both carry regular services operated by Kazakh and Uzbek airlines, and suit itineraries that continue further east;
– Istanbul is the shortest onward hop of all at 922 nautical miles, with the widest choice of departures; Dubai, at 2,004 nautical miles, is the option when the Gulf is already on the itinerary;
– We book the connection alongside the charter and hold the aircraft against the onward departure time rather than a fixed slot.
We can arrange flights from any city in the UK. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, please use the form below:

Two things worth knowing about these sectors
– On a short European leg the fixed costs weigh heavily: handling, slots and crew duty do not shrink with the distance, so the price per hour looks higher than on a long sector. Booking the outbound and the return together usually improves it more than changing the aircraft type does;
– The Istanbul and Yerevan corridors carry steady traffic in both directions, which generates repositioning flights through the season. If your dates are flexible by a day, ask us to check the empty legs before we quote a fresh charter.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Private jets are ready to take off
Our database holds over 6500 business jets, and the five classes below are the ones that appear in quotes for the gateway sectors, with the hourly rates we see on these routes:
Turboprops
Useful at the British end of the itinerary, feeding Luton or Manchester from a regional field. On the gateway sectors themselves the distances are beyond them.
Light jets
Comfortable as far as Istanbul with a light load, which makes them the sensible quote for two or three people meeting a connection rather than staying at the gateway.
Super-midsize
The class most often quoted for the Caucasus gateways. Yerevan sits close to two thousand nautical miles from the London area, and this is where a full cabin flies it non-stop.
Heavy jets
What Baku asks for with everyone aboard, and the usual answer when a family travels with luggage for a long stay rather than hand baggage for a meeting.
Ultra-long range
What the Central Asian gateways need. Tashkent and Dubai are past a heavy cabin’s comfortable reach with passengers and baggage, and this class covers them with reserves in hand.

This is only a part of what is available. The aircraft on your contract is chosen for the sector and the date, and can be positioned from a neighbouring country when nothing suitable is free in Britain.

Business aviation airports in Moscow
Moscow is served by four airports, and business aviation concentrates almost entirely at one of them. Vnukovo sits south-west of the city and holds the largest business aviation centre in Europe; Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo handle private traffic through their own terminals but at a fraction of the volume, and Ostafyevo, ten nautical miles from Vnukovo, works as a smaller general aviation field. Chkalovsky, which older listings sometimes include, is a military aerodrome and takes no civil business traffic.
Vnukovo International (VKO / UUWW) has two runways, 3,500 and 3,060 metres, which between them accommodate every business aircraft category up to VIP airliners. It runs around the clock, and it sits at the highest elevation of the Moscow airports, which gives it an operational advantage in the cold and in poor visibility. The two runways handle up to forty-five movements an hour, and the airport carries the third and highest level of IATA slot coordination.
Vnukovo-3 is run by VIPPORT and is the only fixed base operator at the airport. It is the largest business aviation centre in Europe and the only Russian FBO holding an IS-BAH Stage 2 certificate. Apron and hangar space covers more than 250 aircraft, including helicopters with rotor diameters up to 21.3 metres, and the hangars are heated and ventilated, which matters in a Moscow winter.
How the terminals divide
– The international terminal handles around forty passengers an hour and has meeting rooms, bars and duty free;
– The domestic terminal takes flights within Russia and the neighbouring states, with a capacity of fifteen passengers at a time;
– A third terminal is reserved for the most privacy-sensitive movements, and a heliport sits within the complex for onward rotary transfers.
Formalities at Vnukovo-3 are unusual by European standards in one respect: Russian rules put both domestic and international private passengers through formal border and customs procedures, which is why the terminals allocate far more space to passengers than a comparable FBO in western Europe. In practice the walk from the car to the aircraft still runs in minutes rather than in queues.
Main characteristics of Vnukovo International Airport:
- Official name - Vnukovo International Airport (VKO), Moscow.
- Address - 1st Reysovaya street 12/2, Vnukovo, Moscow, 119027.
- Business aviation: Vnukovo-3 centre, operated by VIPPORT.
- Geolocation - 55°35′29″N, 37°15′41″E
- Runways - 3,500 m and 3,060 m, all business jet categories.
- IATA - VKO. ICAO - UUWW.
- Time zone: +3.0

Flying to Moscow with a dog or a cat
An animal can travel this route, and it travels in the cabin at your feet with no weight limit and nothing in a hold. What needs planning is not the flight but the paperwork at either end, and the return journey is where the timescale sits. Read the panel below before you book anything else.
The one fact to read before you book
Russia sits outside the list of countries from which a pet can return to Great Britain on the simple route. That means a rabies antibody blood test taken at least 30 days after the vaccination, a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml, and a three month wait from the date of the sample before the animal may enter Britain. There is a way round it that costs nothing: have the blood drawn by your own vet in Britain before you leave. The test stays valid for the return for as long as the rabies cover runs without a gap, and the three months disappear. Our managers set this out in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
What the outbound side asks for is short, and your own vet will recognise every line of it:
- An ISO 11784/11785 microchip, implanted before the rabies vaccination rather than after it;
- A rabies vaccination given at least 21 days before travel, the animal being 12 weeks old or more when it was administered;
- Veterinary documentation for the destination, which our managers arrange with a specialist pet travel agent rather than through the standard European route;
- Up to five animals per owner, travelling with the owner as a non-commercial movement;
- Praziquantel from a vet 24 to 120 hours before landing back in Britain, recorded with the date and the product. Dogs only; cats are exempt.
Cats have the easier time of it in both directions: no tapeworm treatment on the way home, and the blood test rule applies to them exactly as it does to dogs, so a cat that has been tested in Britain travels on the same terms. Dogs need the worming appointment timed against the flight home, and in practice we book it as part of the arrangements rather than leaving it to the last afternoon.
Is there a vet at the gateway airports?
On a three to four hour first leg most animals sleep through the flight, and the cabin stays at the temperature you set rather than at whatever a cargo hold offers. Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are set out on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the current position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
Types of flights
Our company provides all types of business flights. Due to a wide variety of jets, we can arrange:
- private flights;
- corporate flights;
- business class flights;
- concert tours;
- medical flights (with doctors and special equipment on board);
- tourist flights for large and small groups;
- sports charters for teams and coaching staff;
- combined flights (partly by business jet, and partly by helicopter);
- exclusive flights on luxury jets for businessmen, celebrities, and politicians;
- cargo flights, etc.
A flexible approach and a wide experience allow us to solve problems of any complexity. In 90% of cases, we manage to arrange urgent flights (on the day of application). But to be sure, we recommend you send a request at least 2-5 days before the desired date of departure.

Empty Legs
Another way to fly cheaper is to use Empty Legs. This service allows you to save on regular charter rates. As you know, part of the flights is one-way (for example, when the passenger flies from England to Yerevan). After the flight, the jet returns to its home base (for example, to London Farnborough airport) empty. Such flight is called “Empty Legs”. Empty leg flights can be as cheap as 50-75% off the standard charter price. This option is profitable for both the passengers and the charter companies. The clients can enjoy the services of business aviation at a very good price, while the airlines recoup part of the cost of fuel and jet maintenance.
It is almost impossible to find Empty Leg flights, as the information about them is stored in special databases available only to the aviation brokers and specialized companies. You should know that Empty Leg flights offer the same service as private jet charters. The passengers enjoy a 100% private jet flying experience. Services and flight conditions are discussed individually. We should note that our company cooperates with the world’s largest home bases, so we can offer our clients a wide choice of return flights. Just send a request to our manager who will help you find the best flight options. Please note that Empty Leg flights are sold out very quickly. To avoid such a problem, you can leave us a deposit, and we will contact you as soon as the flight of your choice becomes available. For additional information, check with the operators.

Jet Sharing
Today, Jet Sharing is just as popular as private jet charter. This service involves the joint rental of a business jet with other passengers (that is, the cost of the flight is divided equally between all passengers of a specific flight). This type of flight has become especially popular in the last few years. Many people like Jet Sharing because it allows you to enjoy all benefits of business aviation at favorable prices.
We should note that the number of passengers per Jet Sharing flight varies from 3 to 8, while the cost of the flight ranges from 1200 to 6000 pounds (depending on the destination). This way, you can get a comfortable flight on a business jet (and maybe even meet new business partners) at a very good price. You can check out the schedule of Jet Sharing flights by filling in the online form or contacting our operators by phone or WhatsApp.
Main advantages of this service:
- All privileges of business aviation, including the use of the business aviation terminal and the check-in 30 minutes before the flight, are retained;
- You can also use the services of the VIP Lounge (included in the price of the flight);
- No baggage restrictions;
- Affordable price: jet sharing is much cheaper than private jet charter;
- Pets can be carried directly in the aircraft cabin.

Rotary work on this itinerary sits at the two ends rather than in the middle: getting you to the British departure field, and moving you around the gateway city while the onward flight is arranged. These are the legs we book most often:
the pick-up that starts an early eastbound departure without the M2515 to 25 minutes
Levent, Besiktas and the Bosphorus hotels, against an hour or more in trafficabout 15 minutes
the capital and the resort valley north of it, a slow drive by road15 to 30 minutes
the business quarter and the coastal resorts, where traffic is heavyabout 15 minutes
the resort area north of the capital, two and a half hours by roadabout 40 minutes
The machines that work these routes
– Airbus H125 and Bell 407, the light singles behind most private transfers in the London area and precise into a confined site;
– Airbus H130 and Bell 429 for a family or a party of six, the usual choice on the Caucasus legs;
– Airbus H145 and AgustaWestland AW139 where twin engines are wanted for a larger group or a longer coastal run out of Baku.
Two points on rotary legs here
– These legs stay on the gateway side. The airspace restrictions that apply to our jets apply to a helicopter in the same way, so the rotary work does not cross into Russian airspace;
– Mountain terrain around Yerevan and summer heat in Baku and Astana both cut what a helicopter can lift. Morning slots are the ones worth asking for, and we plan the loading around them rather than around the schedule.

Flight payment options
The main goal of our company is to provide the highest level of comfort to our customers. Therefore, we’re always ready to meet you halfway. Our consultants will offer you a wide variety of flights to meet your needs and budget. Most customers prefer a non-cash method (a transfer to an EU bank account), which guarantees a high level of confidentiality and security of payment. All payment details are provided in advance, so you’ll have enough time to make the necessary checks. For years of working in business aviation, our company has gained an impeccable reputation. We practice transparency and are always ready to present all necessary documents.
Private Jet UK works with both physical and legal entities. We guarantee the confidentiality and security of payments. You can pay for the gateway flights in any convenient way:
- cashless (by transfer to our account);
- by cash;
- by card;
- by cryptocurrency.
Our company works with European and British banks, which allows you to choose the most convenient payment method. In addition, we conclude formal agreements and provide our clients with all necessary documents and invoices, which guarantees the safe payment and delivery of services. If you have any financial questions, feel free to contact our private aviation consultants.
If you need to book an urgent flight, please keep in mind that the bank transfer can take a few days. In such situations, we may need to involve our partner companies so that you can pay for your flight in cash. If you have any questions, you can contact your personal consultant 24/7.

Moscow charters we have flown: six trips from the booking notes
These are jobs our brokers remember, written up from their own notes. Initials stand in for names and some details are altered where a client would otherwise be identifiable. The prices quoted are what those bookings actually cost, and the flight times match the tables higher up this page.
BUSINESS · SAME-WEEK
Mr D. R.: a board meeting arranged on four days notice
London Luton - Istanbul, Citation XLS+, 3 h 25 min · 4 passengers
Four days from first call to departure, which on this routing is comfortable rather than tight: the charter itself needs a couple of days, and the onward ticket was held the same afternoon. He flew out on the Tuesday morning, connected inside three hours and was in a meeting the following morning. The detail that mattered was the connection window, not the aircraft: we booked the later of two onward departures so a slot delay could not cost him the day.
FAMILY · SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
The K. family: six of them, two of them small
Manchester - Istanbul, Praetor 600, 3 h 27 min · 6 passengers
Half term, six passengers and the quantity of luggage that two children under five generate. The Praetor took it without argument where a light jet would have meant a second bag drop. Two child seats were confirmed with the ground transport at the gateway a week ahead rather than hoped for on arrival, which is the part of these trips that goes wrong most often.
PET · THE THREE MONTHS
Ms A. P.: a spaniel and a deadline that nearly caught her out
London Luton - Yerevan, Challenger 350, 4 h 32 min · 2 passengers and a dog
She called about the outbound leg and the conversation immediately became about the return. The blood test was drawn by her own vet in Britain eleven days before departure, which kept the three month wait off the calendar entirely. Had she left it until she was abroad, the dog could not have come home until the spring. The worming appointment for the journey back was booked at the same time.
CORPORATE · TWELVE SEATS
A Midlands engineering group: a delegation moving together
London Luton - Baku, Challenger 605, 4 h 57 min · 11 passengers
Eleven people and their equipment cases, which put the booking straight into the heavy class and out of the two-aircraft conversation. They used the outbound leg for a briefing, and the return was held open for four days because the schedule at the far end was not fixed. Around 25,700 GBP each way.
WINTER · WEATHER
Mr S. V.: a January departure and a hard freeze
Edinburgh - Baku, Legacy 650, 5 h 10 min · 5 passengers
De-icing in Edinburgh pushed the departure by fifty minutes, which on a connecting itinerary is the delay that actually costs something. We had built the buffer in at the quote stage and the onward flight was still comfortable. This is the argument for booking both legs through one desk: the person watching the jet is the same person watching the connection.
LONG ITINERARY · CENTRAL ASIA
Ms L. T.: Moscow first, then further east
London Luton - Astana, Legacy 650, 5 h 50 min · 7 passengers
Astana rather than the Caucasus because the trip continued to Almaty and then home, and the Kazakh gateway put both halves on one sensible line rather than doubling back. Around 31,400 GBP for the first leg. The return came through Istanbul a fortnight later, which was cheaper than repeating the outbound routing in reverse.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Moscow
1How long does it take to fly to Moscow from the UK?
The journey has two legs. The first, which we fly, runs three and a half hours from London to Istanbul, about four and a half to Yerevan and just under six to Astana. The onward flight into Moscow adds two and a half hours from Istanbul or Yerevan and around three from Astana. With a sensible connection the total is usually nine to eleven hours door to door.
2How much does a private jet towards Moscow cost?
From about 11,700 GBP one way from London to Istanbul on a Citation XLS+, from about 21,700 GBP to Yerevan on a Challenger 350 and about 25,700 GBP to Baku on a Challenger 605. Each figure buys the whole aircraft. The onward ticket into Moscow is bought separately from the operating carrier and we book it alongside the charter.
3Which gateway is the most practical?
For most of our clients, Yerevan or Baku. Both are close to Moscow, both have several daily services, the airports are small enough to connect through quickly and transit requirements are light for most nationalities. Istanbul has the shortest onward hop of all at 922 nautical miles and the widest choice of departures, at the cost of a longer transfer inside a much larger airport.
4Which airport do private jets use in Moscow?
Vnukovo, on the south-west side of the city. Its business aviation centre, Vnukovo-3, is the largest in Europe and the only Russian FBO with an IS-BAH Stage 2 certificate, with apron and hangar space for more than 250 aircraft. The airport has two runways of 3,500 and 3,060 metres and works around the clock. That is where an onward scheduled flight from your gateway lands.
5Can I take my dog or cat?
Yes, in the cabin with you and with no weight limit. The point to settle first is the return: a rabies antibody blood test drawn by your own vet in Britain before departure keeps the three month waiting period off your calendar entirely. Dogs also need worming 24 to 120 hours before landing back in Britain, and we book that appointment as part of the arrangements.
