Private jet charter in Parma
Less than two hours after leaving the London fields, a private jet can be on the ground at an airport a few kilometres from the centre of Parma, with few stands to share. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around whichever kind of trip it is. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Parma looks easy on the map and asks for care on the apron: general aviation is accepted only with prior permission because stands are limited, the airport keeps published hours, and customs come out on request. What remains to settle is the week against the fair and festival calendar, the size of the cabin and whether Bologna or Verona is the better door for your meeting.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Parma depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Parma?
Under two hours from Biggin Hill in a light jet, about two and a half hours from Edinburgh or Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference to remember on arrival, because Italy keeps Central European time. At 589 to 902 nautical miles this is a classic short-haul sector: long enough that a light jet is a proper sit, short enough that nobody needs a heavy cabin to make it. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground in Parma shortly before ten local time. The terminal is about 3 km from the Parma Centro exit of the A1 motorway and the drive into town takes under ten minutes, so there is no long transfer to eat the morning. Reggio Emilia is about a quarter of an hour away on the motorway and Modena about 40 minutes. A client who left a London office at half past six can be sitting down to lunch among the ham cellars of Langhirano before one, and a fair visitor is at the fairground in time for the first appointments of the morning.
Light jet or midsize: the question that actually comes up on this route
– Up to about four people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer. A fair visit changes the arithmetic, because sample cases, product boxes and the cheese and ham that everyone brings home fill a CJ3+ hold faster than the seat count suggests;
– Past four people, or with a dog, we quote a midsize jet alongside it. The runway at Parma is just over 2,100 m, comfortable for light and midsize jets in normal conditions, and for a super-midsize cabin we check the aircraft against the runway for your day, load and weather before the quote goes out;
– Large cabins are possible on paper, but the stands are limited and the general aviation apron has no orderly traffic control, so the bigger the aircraft the more the stand request matters. For a delegation that needs a heavy jet, Bologna, with a 2,800 m runway and a terminal of its own for private flights, is often the easier landing.

Private jet flights from Parma
Parma works as the start of a northern Italian loop. Venice, Florence and Milan are short hops that a turboprop covers in under an hour, and Rome, Sardinia and the Riviera are about an hour in a light jet. Short sectors are billed at a minimum charge per aircraft, so a hop of 75 nautical miles costs about the same as one of 150. Typical one-way prices:

Bologna, Verona or Linate: when the second airport is the better one
Bologna is only 46 nautical miles from Parma, about 85 km in a straight line and a little over 90 km by road, so nobody flies between them, but it matters as a choice of landing. Guglielmo Marconi has a 2,800 m runway, a General Aviation Terminal run by the airport company itself and services that the operator describes as available round the clock, against the published hours and the limited stands at Parma. The price of that comfort is the drive, which we put at about an hour each way, and on the same light jet from Biggin Hill the sector costs about £500 more. Verona is 43 nautical miles away, with a 3,068 m runway and an ILS that works down to Category IIIb with a fog-dispersal system, which matters on a winter morning when mist sits on the plain. Linate suits a meeting in Milan, not in Parma: it is about 7 km from the centre of Milan, slot-coordinated, and open to flights from Britain. The small airfield at Reggio Emilia is a general aviation strip with a runway of roughly 1,200 m that takes light aircraft only, and reference listings do not show it as an airport of entry.
Before you accept a Parma quote
– Which airport, and whether the stand is confirmed. Parma accepts general aviation only with prior permission, requested at least 24 hours ahead because of the limited stands, and an aircraft that arrives without it is parked at the operator's discretion. A quote that says nothing about the stand is a quote that will change;
– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Parma to Venice for a day and back, or on to Olbia, costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between the legs.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Parma:
Light jets, and where most bookings land
At just under two hours this is the sensible class for four or five people with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range for Parma, so the money goes on the hour rather than on capability you will not use.
Midsize, for fair delegations and sample cases
A delegation for a food fair comes with product cases, stand material and a suitcase of gifts for the return. That luggage is what pushes a party past the light-jet hold, and it is the usual reason for the step up.
Super-midsize and large
For a company delegation travelling as one party, for a team that needs to work in the air, and for trips that carry on from Italy to the Gulf or across the Atlantic. At Parma these are the cabins whose stand and runway performance we check first.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the short Italian legs: Venice, Florence and Milan are each under an hour in a PC-12, and the saving over a jet on those distances is large. Turboprops also reach the small fields that jets cannot.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a castle at Torrechiara, a culatello cellar on the Po, Maranello for a factory visit. Where a helicopter may put down is regulated, so the site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Parma draws on the northern Italian fleet, so for a booking outside the fair weeks there is often an aircraft already within an hour of the airport, in Milan, Bologna or Verona, and that is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Parma and the Via Emilia
One airport does most of the work, a larger one an hour away is the fallback, and the others are small. It helps to know all of them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Parma Giuseppe Verdi PMF / LIMP |
The airport for Parma and its food district, about 2.4 km north-west of the city. One asphalt runway, 02/20, of about 2,124 m, with a Category I ILS on runway 20 only. Customs and immigration on request with 24 hours' notice, fire category 7, Jet A1 fuel, de-icing from November to March. Handling by the airport operator, So.Ge.A.P., is compulsory. Not a 24-hour airport: published hours, a control tower with set hours, and anything outside them is arranged in writing |
| Bologna Guglielmo Marconi BLQ / LIPE |
The big alternative, about 85 km to the east in a straight line. A 2,800 m runway and a General Aviation Terminal of its own with services stated as available round the clock, fuel on the apron and rooms for crews. A slot-coordinated airport, so the request goes out with the flight details. Choose it for a large cabin, a night arrival or a meeting on the Bologna side of the Via Emilia |
| Verona Villafranca VRN / LIPX |
About 80 km to the north-east in a straight line, with a 3,068 m runway, an ILS to Category IIIb and a fog-dispersal system, and customs round the clock. The fallback when winter mist sits on the plain, and the choice for Lake Garda and the eastern side of the region |
| Milan Linate LIML / LIN |
About 7 km from the centre of Milan and around 106 km from Parma in a straight line, with a 2,442 m runway. A slot-coordinated city airport that takes flights from Britain. It makes sense when the real destination is Milan and Parma is a day trip |
| Reggio Emilia LIDE |
A small general aviation field about 1.5 km east of the town and some 32 km from Parma. Reference listings give a runway of roughly 1,200 m and daylight hours, so treat it as light-aircraft ground and not as an airport of entry; a flight from Britain clears Italy somewhere else first |
Four points settle most Parma arrivals:
Stand and handler
Handling is compulsory and the stands are limited, so general aviation needs prior permission requested at least 24 hours ahead, by email or phone to the airport operator. There is no orderly traffic control on the general aviation apron, only one aircraft moves at a time, and engines are started at set points. We send the request with the flight details and put one handler name in the quote.
Hours and fuel
Parma is not open round the clock: the airport administration, handling and security keep published hours, and the control tower has set hours of its own. Jet A1 is the only fuel, non-scheduled fuel is ordered 24 hours ahead, and a surcharge applies outside the core hours. The use of the APU on the ground is limited to a short window around departure.
Border and passport
Britain is outside Schengen and Italy is inside it, so you clear passport control and customs at the first Italian landing. At Parma that service is on request, with 24 hours' notice, so the notice goes out with the flight plan. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. A British operator running a charter also needs permission from the Italian civil aviation authority, ENAC, which for an aircraft with fewer than 20 passenger seats is a blanket or single-flight permit requested at least three working days ahead. We track the permit together with the aircraft paperwork.
Car and the fairground
The A1 motorway is a few minutes from the terminal, and the fairground, Fiere di Parma, is away from the busy centre, with parking for more than 9,000 cars. In a Cibus week give us the handler as well as the flight, so the driver waits at the right door, and book the return car with the outbound.

Border, passport and where to clear
Clear Italy at the airport you land at, and the rest of the trip is inside Schengen with no further control. If the aircraft is too large for Parma, or the stand cannot be confirmed in time, the same applies at Bologna or Verona: the passengers enter Italy there, and the drive to Parma follows. Reference listings do not show Reggio Emilia as an airport of entry, so we do not plan it as the first landing for a flight from Britain.

From the apron to the Pilotta
Parma is a city of about 200,000 people with a cathedral whose dome Correggio painted, a baptistery begun in the twelfth century, a ducal palace complex, the Pilotta, that holds the National Gallery and the Palatine Library, and an all-wood Farnese theatre. It has held the title of Italian Capital of Culture and is a UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Most of what a visitor wants is within half an hour of the airport, in the hills to the south and the lowlands towards the Po, so the useful numbers are the drives outward.
The food explains the visitors. Parmigiano Reggiano is aged for at least 12 months and can be made only in a zone that takes in Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena and parts of the Bologna and Mantua provinces. Prosciutto di Parma is cured for no fewer than 12 months, and the province adds salame di Felino and the culatello of Zibello. Many of the producers receive visitors, and a network of food museums covers the cheese, the ham, the salami, the pasta and the tomato.

Flying to Parma with a dog or a cat
Italy asks for more paperwork than the flight takes, and the flight is short enough that most animals sleep through it. The animal sits beside you in the cabin. What matters is that the certificate is dated correctly, because it has a ten-day life from the day it is issued, and that the vet appointment for the return is booked before you leave Emilia.

What the EU rules ask for on the way in:
- A microchip, fitted before or at the same time as the rabies vaccination and never after it;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before entry;
- An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued for this trip and valid for ten days for entry to the EU;
- A written declaration that the movement is non-commercial, signed by the owner;
- No more than five animals per traveller, presented at a travellers' point of entry, which we confirm in writing together with the paperwork before the flight;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before the return flight to Britain, recorded in the pet travel document. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Parma run
– Italy asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, only before the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Parma, towards the end of the stay, and not something you do before leaving. Ask the hotel for a vet near the city when you book;
– A pet passport issued in England, Scotland or Wales cannot be used to enter the EU. The certificate has to be a fresh one for each trip, and the rabies vaccination has to stay in date for the return;
– Customs at Parma come out on request, so the animal is named in the same notice as the passengers, and the entry point and the paperwork are confirmed in writing before the flight. A turboprop or helicopter leg is a separate decision, because the operator of each aircraft has to agree to the animal.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Parma calendar: fairs in spring, ham in September, Verdi in the autumn
Parma has a calendar built around its fairground and its stage. The trade shows fall in late winter, in May and again in the autumn, the ham weekends fall in September, and the opera season runs into October. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a fair week costs more
Not the flying. The northern Italian fleet is large and Parma is well placed in it. What gets tight is the apron: a small airport with limited stands accepts general aviation only with prior permission, so in a Cibus week or at the opening of the Verdi season the parking is spoken for early. Cars, hotel rooms and tables go in the same days. A booking made a fortnight before a big fair can still be done, but it pays more and may use an aircraft positioned from Milan or Bologna. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Parma is easy to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Parma price down
- Move the dates a few days where you can. The weeks between the fairs are calm, and so are the winter months, when the apron is quiet and the hotels are easier to book;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Milan, Bologna or Verona takes less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful share of the bill;
- Land at Parma when the meeting is in Parma. Bologna is a fine airport, but on the same light jet from Biggin Hill it costs about £500 more and adds an hour on the road. Verona is priced a little lower, and the drive is longer.
Types of flights
Parma produces a different mix from the cities on the Alpine or Riviera side of Italy. The airport leans towards business, and the business has a particular flavour: food, fairs and the people who sell to them.
- Trade fairs and food-industry business: Cibus, Mercanteinfiera and the specialist shows at Fiere di Parma, plus business with Barilla, the pharmaceutical group Chiesi and the European Food Safety Authority, which has its seat in the city;
- Food Valley weekends: Parmigiano Reggiano dairies, the ham of Langhirano, the culatello of the Po lowlands and the food museums of the province, often with a cooking course at Academia Barilla;
- The Motor Valley: the Ferrari museums in Modena and Maranello, the Lamborghini factory at Sant'Agata Bolognese, Maserati and Pagani near Modena, with Modena itself about 40 minutes from the apron by motorway;
- Opera and culture: the Teatro Regio, the Festival Verdi, Busseto and the weekend city break to the Pilotta and the Baptistery;
- Loops that carry on to Venice, Florence or the Riviera;
- Day trips from London, which at under two hours each way are a long day but a workable one.
The day trip is worth a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Leaving at seven and coming back at nine in the evening gives you a working day in Emilia and a bed in your own house, and on this route we quote it both ways so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Parma route they come from the rhythm of fairs and festivals, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Parma empty legs come from
– Fair weeks. Aircraft bring delegations to Parma for Cibus or Mercanteinfiera and leave empty for their next job, which produces outbound legs in the days after the fair;
– Opera and festival weekends. A jet brings a party to the Verdi season on the Friday and flies home empty on the Sunday, and that evening leg is the one most often offered;
– Italian rotation. Operators move aircraft between Milan, Bologna, Verona and Venice, and the short Italian legs between them can be cheap.
Because the Parma corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Parma match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Food Valley a helicopter saves little time, because the distances are short and the motorways are good. What it adds is reach and a view: a castle on a hill, a cellar on the Po, Maranello without the drive.
castle and ham country, about 25 minutes by carabout 15 minutes
Verdi's home town and the culatello cellars, about 40 minutes by carabout 15 minutes
the Ferrari museum, flown in one hop where a landing site is agreedabout 25 minutes
the straight line over the Via Emilia, for a connection to the Ducati and Lamborghini sideabout 35 minutes
castles, the Po lowlands and the hills of the ham country from the airby arrangement
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. In Italy the use of occasional landing sites is notified to the civil aviation authority, ENAC, through an online portal, and a foreign pilot needs ENAC accreditation to use it. The consent of whoever manages the site is a separate matter, so we check the status of a castle lawn or a vineyard before the quote is written, not after it;
– Weather sets the schedule. Mist on the plain and low cloud on the hills can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– For fair weeks and the opening of the Verdi season, book the helicopter together with the jet or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for hill work, the wider H130 for scenic and estate transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Parma charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning among the ham cellars and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Parma and return, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 55 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground at Parma shortly before ten local time, a car to Langhirano and a tasting lunch among the curing houses. The aircraft and crew waited at the airport rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. Back at Biggin Hill in the evening. It is a long day and it works.
TRADE FAIR · SAMPLE CASES
Five buyers and six cases for a food fair
Farnborough - Parma, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 55 min · 5 pax
The client wanted the fairground itself, not a drive from Bologna, so we quoted Parma. The stand request went out with the booking, because the apron is small and the fair week was close. The cases went in the hold and not on a train, and the return car was booked with the outbound.
OPERA · THE HOURS DECIDED THE RETURN
A Verdi evening and a morning flight home
London City - Parma, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 55 min · 4 pax
Four guests, an afternoon arrival, dinner and the opera. The airport keeps published hours, so the return was planned for the next morning. The crew rested nearby and the stand was confirmed in writing before the aircraft left London.
MOTOR VALLEY · THE ORDER OF THE VISITS
Maranello, Sant'Agata and a Parma dinner
London Luton - Parma, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 55 min · 6 pax
Ferrari on the first morning, Lamborghini after lunch, dinner in Parma. The party asked whether Bologna would be closer, and we priced both. Parma won because the last dinner was in the city and the cheaper sector left more of the budget for the cars. A driver who knew the sequence of the visits was the most useful item on the quote.
FOOD VALLEY · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a ham weekend
Bristol - Parma, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 05 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Parma for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · AFTER THE FAIR
A jet already going your way
Parma - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 55 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a delegation to Parma for a food fair and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for an evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Parma
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Parma?
About 1 hour 55 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, and around 1 hour 50 minutes from Farnborough or Southampton in a Phenom, covering roughly 590 to 620 nautical miles. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about 2 hours 5 to 2 hours 10, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 25 to 2 hours 30. Parma is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly before ten local time.
2How much does a private jet to Parma cost?
From about £8,600 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, and £9,000 from Luton on a Phenom. A midsize cabin runs £11,950 to £12,800 from Bristol, the Midlands and Manchester, and from Scotland allow £18,450 to £18,850. The fair weeks, the Verdi season and the September ham weekends price above these figures.
3Should a private jet use Parma, Bologna or Verona airport?
Parma Giuseppe Verdi (PMF / LIMP) when the meeting is in Parma or at the western end of the Via Emilia. It is about 2.4 km from the city, with a runway of about 2,124 m, limited stands and published hours, and general aviation needs prior permission requested 24 hours ahead. Bologna (BLQ / LIPE) has a 2,800 m runway and a terminal of its own for private flights, and Verona (VRN / LIPX) has an ILS to Category IIIb. Those two suit a large cabin, a night arrival or winter mist.
4When should I book a private jet to Parma?
Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the Cibus weeks in May of a Cibus year, the Mercanteinfiera weeks, the ham weekends in September and the opening of the Verdi season, allow four to six weeks. Stands, hotels and cars all get tight in the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from another country.
5Can I visit Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati from a flight into Parma?
Yes. Modena is about 40 minutes from the airport by motorway, the Ferrari museums are in Modena and Maranello, Lamborghini has its factory at Sant'Agata Bolognese, and Maserati runs bookable factory tours. Tours and museum visits are booked in advance, and we plan the order of the visits with the driver. A helicopter to Maranello is about 25 minutes in the air, with the landing site agreed beforehand.
6Can I take my dog to Parma on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and the EU rules ask for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old, an Animal Health Certificate issued for the trip and valid ten days for entry, and a non-commercial declaration. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
