Handling and fuel at the Jet Centre are listed 24 hours a day. One airport directory also lists a night noise-abatement window from 23:00 to 07:00, so we ask the terminal about a late arrival and do not assume it.

Fuel, catering and the technical stop

Paperwork, the handler and the way home
The operator sends passenger and crew details to the handler ahead of the flight, and the handler prepares the landing permit.
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and most other nationalities do.
Willemstad and the rest of the island
With one airport the question is not which field but how the last kilometres are done. Willemstad, the capital, lies about 12 km from Hato, and its historic waterfront is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Jet Centre arranges hotels, cars and transfers. Beach hotels and dive sites are reached by road from the same terminal, and we book the transfer before the aircraft leaves Britain.
The year in Curaçao: steady sun, wind and short showers
Curaçao has little seasonal drama, and the differences lie in rain and in how full the island is:
the dry season, driest from February to June, with daytime temperatures of 28 to 32 degrees and steady easterly trade winds of roughly 20 to 30 km/hdry
the mild rainy season, with October to December the wettest; the showers last 15 to 30 minutes and most days stay sunny, and the year brings only 500 to 600 mm in allshowers

Holiday weeks are the dearest weeks

The conditions to read before you book
An official international veterinary certificate is needed, signed by the official vet of the exporting authority and endorsed by that authority, and it is valid for no more than two weeks. The animal must carry an ISO microchip, recorded on the certificate, and must have had an inactivated rabies vaccine at 12 weeks of age or older, given at least 21 days before departure. Animals younger than 15 weeks cannot be imported.
On the way home the rule is British. A dog must be treated against tapeworm by a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours before landing in Britain, a pet travel document or certificate is needed, and an animal without the right paperwork can be held in quarantine for up to four months. Curaçao does not appear by name on the British pages we rely on, so we confirm in writing which document applies to the return.
- Treatment against external parasites with a registered product of at least 28 days' lasting effect, and against internal parasites, both within 14 days before departure and both recorded on the certificate;
- No dogs or cats from South or Central America, with Suriname the listed exception, and no pit bull terrier-type dogs;
- Arrival at Curaçao International, where veterinary officials check the animal and its papers, so the vet service is told in advance.
An animal that does not meet the rules may be refused, sent back or quarantined at the owner's expense. The pages we rely on do not mention an import permit for a pet that travels with its owner, and we ask the Curaçao authorities to confirm this in writing for each trip.
