Private jet charter in Leeds
A light jet leaves a London airfield and is on the ground in Yorkshire in under an hour, which is barely longer than the road from the centre of Leeds out to the airport that serves it. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around that mismatch. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Leeds Bradford is a hilltop airfield with one dedicated handler, compulsory handling and a client base built on law, finance and the country houses to the north, so a Leeds booking is decided less by the aircraft than by the hour you want to land, who meets you and where you are heading next.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Leeds depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Leeds?
Under an hour from every British airfield we use, and usually 45 to 50 minutes from the London group. Leeds is a short sector from everywhere, so the minutes that matter on this page are the ones either side of the flight: the drive to the departure airfield, the walk to the aircraft and the road from Leeds Bradford into the city. The second group of rows shows the arrivals from abroad we handle most often, where the clearance is the real work and the flying is the easy part.

Door to door, and where the minutes go
A charter to Leeds is rarely bought for the sector. From a London airfield the flight takes the best part of an hour, but the airport is about 8 miles from the city centre and the handler's own estimate for the road is 40 to 45 minutes depending on traffic, so the Yorkshire end takes almost as long as the flying. Add the drive to the London airfield and the quick processing at both terminals and the whole journey from a London office to a Leeds meeting room comes to something over three hours. What the aircraft buys is control of the day: a morning meeting in Leeds, lunch in Harrogate and a return flight in the afternoon without a timetable in the way. For that reason we ask for the final address before we choose an airport, because the last ten miles are often the longest part of the trip.
Turboprop, light jet or midsize: the question on a short sector
– On a sector under 200 nautical miles the price is set by the minimum an operator will accept for taking an aircraft out, not by the distance flown. That is why every domestic light-jet row in the price table below shows the same figure, and why a Pilatus PC-12 from Birmingham or Newcastle sets a lower floor than any jet;
– Up to four or five people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer and nothing is gained by paying for more cabin on a flight of under an hour. The hold, not the seats, is what usually pushes a party up a class, so tell us about the golf clubs and the exhibition kit when you enquire;
– Midsize and large aircraft only make sense on this route when the party is big, or when Leeds is the first leg of a longer itinerary to the Gulf, the Alps or New York.

Prices for the private jet flights to Leeds
Typical trips into Leeds Bradford, cheapest first. Almost every domestic row sits on the minimum charge, so the departure airfield is better chosen for the drive than for the price. Race weeks, the Great Yorkshire Show and the August festival weekend sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Yorkshire clients fly out for a handful of reasons: the Alps in winter, the Mediterranean in summer, business in Dublin, Amsterdam or Paris, and long-haul trips where a private departure saves a long drive to a Manchester or London airport. The first group below is the British and Irish short hop, the second the near Continent, the third the resort airports and the last the long-haul sectors. Typical one-way prices:

Leaving Yorkshire: what the first leg has to get right
Leeds Bradford has a 2,250 metre runway, which is ample for any aircraft we would quote on a Mediterranean or Alpine sector. On the two long-haul rows, Dubai at about 3,160 nautical miles and Teterboro at about 3,026, the aircraft is a Global or Gulfstream class machine, and we ask the operator for its take-off performance at the weight and temperature of the day before we confirm anything, because a full fuel load is what limits a long departure, not the length of the strip. The other thing to settle early is where the aircraft starts. Most large jets are based elsewhere, so a departure from Leeds often includes a positioning flight from London, Manchester or the Midlands, and that leg is the part of the bill most worth negotiating.
Before you accept a quote that leaves from Leeds
– Handler hours. Normal operating hours at the Leeds Bradford handler are 08:00 to 18:00 every day, so a 06:30 departure for the Alps or a 20:00 return from a day in Paris falls outside them. It can be done, with prior permission through the duty officer and out-of-hours charges, but it belongs in the quote from the start;
– The night period. Between 23:00 and 07:00 the airport works under a cap on night movements and a noise quota, so a late arrival home from a long sector needs written confirmation before you plan around it;
– Customs on the way back. A return from abroad needs a General Aviation Report filed no earlier than 48 hours and no later than two hours before departure, with every name and passport number on it. Gather those details before the trip and not at the foreign apron.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Leeds:
Light jets, and where most bookings land
Domestic sectors to Leeds run 45 to 55 minutes in a light jet and are billed at a minimum, so the type is chosen by seats and baggage and not by speed. Nothing here lacks the range, and because the minimum charge is a multiple of the hourly rate, the cheaper aircraft per hour sets the lower floor.
Midsize, for a full row of colleagues
A law-firm away day or a board party of eight with laptops and overnight bags is where the hold fills before the seats do. The same class carries on from Leeds to Geneva or Nice without a fuel stop.
Super-midsize and large
For a delegation travelling as one party, for the Faro sector, for Gulf and transatlantic trips in the larger cabins, and for a team that wants to work in the air on the way to a meeting.
Turboprops
The sensible aircraft for Birmingham, Newcastle and the Isle of Man, where a turboprop sets the lowest floor and loses only a few minutes to a jet.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a country house, a showground or a Dales hotel with no runway nearby. The landing site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Leeds sits in the middle of the northern fleet, so for a booking that does not land on a race week there is usually an aircraft already within an hour of Leeds Bradford, in Manchester, Birmingham, the East Midlands or Newcastle, and that is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports around Leeds
One airport does the work, and for most trips the honest advice is to use it. The others are worth knowing before a quote arrives with one of them in it.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Leeds Bradford LBA / EGNM |
The answer for almost every trip. About 8 miles from the city centre and, at 681 ft, the highest airport in England. A single runway, 14/32, of 2,250 m. The dedicated handler is Multiflight, which has its own taxiway and apron, a passenger and crew lounge, and two hangars totalling 6,300 square metres, enough for four Boeing 737-800 size aircraft. Handling is mandatory for every flight, and the airport is listed in the government's general aviation guidance as a customs, immigration and police airport |
| Leeds East, Church Fenton EGCM |
A private-use airport about 17 nautical miles east of Leeds Bradford, with a 1,826 m runway that its owners aimed at the business jet market. A licence for scheduled and charter passenger flights was refused, so we treat it as a case-by-case option and confirm in writing what it will accept before it appears in a quote |
| Sherburn-in-Elmet EGCJ |
A flying-club airfield about 17 nautical miles east-south-east of Leeds Bradford, with an 830 m tarmac runway and grass strips. Right for light aircraft and training, and no use for a business jet or for an arrival from abroad |
| Humberside HUY / EGNJ |
About 52 nautical miles east-south-east, near Hull and Grimsby, with a 2,196 m runway and an FBO run by Weston Aviation. It earns a place on the list when the real destination is the Humber or the Lincolnshire coast and not Leeds itself |
| Manchester MAN / EGCC |
About 39 nautical miles south-west of Leeds Bradford, with two runways of roughly 3,050 m and two handlers, Signature Flight Support and Weston Aviation. It is the natural alternate when weather closes Leeds Bradford, and the better starting point when the aircraft is based in Manchester or the trip carries on across the Atlantic. Night restrictions apply there too, so we confirm the hour |
Four points settle most Leeds arrivals:
One handler, and it is mandatory
Multiflight handles all general aviation and business flights at Leeds Bradford, and handling is compulsory. It runs a security screening facility airside, fuels with Jet A1, arranges catering from a list of preferred suppliers on 24 to 48 hours' notice and lists pet travel among its services. Charter flights above 10 tonnes are screened by the airport's own security team.
Hours, slots and night limits
Normal handler hours are 08:00 to 18:00 every day except Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Outside them, permission is needed and charges apply. Between 23:00 and 07:00 night movements are capped and quota-rated, and listings show slots as required. For an early or late flight we get written confirmation first.
Arriving from abroad
Border Force clearance is arranged at Leeds Bradford, which is a designated airport, and we confirm the hour with the handler. The operator files a General Aviation Report between 48 and 2 hours before departure. Anyone needing an electronic travel authorisation or a visa must hold it before boarding, and the operator can be charged £2,000 for each passenger who arrives without permission.
Car and the hill
Give us the handler as well as the flight, and the final address. The road into the city is about 8 miles and 40 to 45 minutes in traffic. At 681 ft this is the highest airport in England, and the weather on the hill can differ from the city, so we name an alternate, usually Manchester, before the aircraft leaves.

Border, passports and why the first landing matters
An aircraft arriving in Britain from abroad has to land first at a regulated aerodrome unless Border Force agrees otherwise, and the civil penalty for getting it wrong is £2,500. That is why a flight from Europe or the Gulf is sent to Leeds Bradford and not to one of the small fields around it, whatever their postcode says. For a flight from one British airport to another, including Belfast, there is no customs clearance and no Border Force General Aviation Report, although a police notification can still apply on the Belfast route, which keeps the paperwork light on the domestic rows above.

From the apron to the Dales
Leeds is a city you reach in under an hour from the airport and then often leave again. The business district sits in the centre, the money and the weekends sit in Harrogate, the Dales and the country houses to the north, and the distances that matter run outward from the airfield.

Flying to or from Leeds with a dog or a cat
Within Britain a pet needs no paperwork for a flight to Leeds, and an animal sits beside you in the cabin, so a domestic trip is as simple as it is for the passengers. The rules start when the aircraft crosses the water. A Yorkshire owner flying out to Paris or the Alps has one set of papers to complete on the way out and a second on the way home, and the timing of the second catches more people than the first.

What is asked when you leave Britain and come back:
- A microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination and not after it;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before travel;
- An Animal Health Certificate from an official vet for each trip to the EU, valid for entry into the EU for ten days from the day it is issued. A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU;
- For the return to Britain, a pet travel document, a signed declaration that the animal is not being sold or rehomed, and for a dog a tapeworm treatment from a vet given no less than 24 hours and no more than five days before you land;
- Pets that arrive more than five days before or after you, or more than five pets without a show or sporting event, fall under stricter commercial rules, and an animal that does not meet the rules can be put into quarantine for up to four months.
What catches owners out on a Yorkshire trip
– The tapeworm window runs back from landing in Britain, not forward from departure. On a weekend away a treatment given before you leave can still fall inside it, but on a longer stay it cannot, and the vet appointment moves to the end of the trip, in Paris or Geneva, where you then need a vet at short notice;
– A certificate is fresh for every trip. If the rabies vaccination lapses during the stay, the certificate cannot be used for onward travel or for the return, so check the booster date before you book and not after;
– A Dales weekend with a dog is an ordinary booking. Settle the hotel and any helicopter before the quote, because each has to accept the animal on its own account, and the handler at Leeds Bradford lists pet travel among its services, so we pass it the arrangements in advance.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Leeds calendar: a finance city with a taste for racing and festivals
Leeds keeps a steadier pulse than a resort and a sharper one than most business cities. The working week is driven by law and finance, the summer by shows, racing and cricket, and the autumn by film and music. Most of the big events sit outside the city, in Harrogate, York and Bramham Park, and the airport is simply the nearest place to land.
Why a show week costs more
Not the flying: northern aircraft are plentiful and every sector is short. What gets tight is the apron, the handler's day and the cars, all in the same week. The Great Yorkshire Show, the Ebor Festival and the Leeds Festival weekend fall within a few weeks of each other and all land at the same airport, and the handler's normal day ends at 18:00. A booking made a fortnight before one of them can still be done, but it tends to cost more and may use an aircraft positioned from Manchester or the Midlands. The same booking made five or six weeks ahead is simpler. Outside those weeks Leeds is easy, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Leeds price down
- Choose the London departure airfield for the drive and not the price. On a domestic hop of this length the minimum charge applies, so Biggin Hill, Luton and Farnborough cost the same and the nearest one is the cheapest in time;
- Keep the day inside the handler's 08:00 to 18:00 hours. A return flight that leaves before six avoids out-of-hours terms, and on a short sector that can be the single biggest saving;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Leeds, Manchester or the East Midlands takes less positioning than one from the south, and on a short sector positioning is a large share of the bill;
- Take the turboprop from Birmingham or Newcastle. A PC-12 sets a lower floor than any jet and loses only a few minutes.
Types of flights
Leeds produces a different mix from the capitals we cover, because it is a regional business centre with a country-house hinterland and a busy inbound trade from abroad.
- Law and finance day trips from London, where the aircraft waits and the client is home for dinner;
- Racing, show and estate weekends around Harrogate, York and Harewood, often with a helicopter for the last stretch;
- Inbound executives and visitors from Europe and the Gulf, who clear Border Force at Leeds Bradford and drive to a Dales hotel or a country house;
- Ski and sun departures from Yorkshire, which avoid the long drive to a Manchester or London airport;
- Hospitality for cricket and rugby league at Headingley;
- Northern sales tours linking Leeds with Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham and Belfast in one day.
The day trip is worth a closer look. A same-day return from a London field to Leeds Bradford is about 45 minutes each way in a light jet. Leaving at half past seven and landing before half past eight gives a full working day in Leeds, and coming back before 18:00 keeps the handler's normal hours. The aircraft and crew wait for you, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. We quote it both ways so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Leeds corridor they come from the pattern of events and from the geography, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Leeds empty legs come from
– Show and race weeks. Aircraft bring parties to Leeds Bradford for the Great Yorkshire Show or the Ebor Festival and return to their bases afterwards, and that outbound leg is the one most often offered;
– Festival and sport weekends. Aircraft fly in for a Leeds Festival or Headingley weekend and go home on the Sunday evening, usually empty;
– Southern bases. Many of the jets that serve Yorkshire are based in London or Manchester, so a flight into Leeds often means a leg back south with nobody aboard.
Because Leeds is a short sector, an empty leg here saves less in pounds than a long one, but it saves a good share of a charter that is already priced at the minimum. A client who can name a few days has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening, and the operator owns the date and the hour. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Leeds match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Leeds a helicopter is a tool for the countryside and rarely for the city. The centre is small enough to cross by car, and the handler at Leeds Bradford offers helicopter charter alongside its fixed-wing work, so a jet and a helicopter can be planned as one trip. The places where rotary flight changes the journey are the country houses, the showgrounds and the edge of the Dales.
a short hop to a Grade I listed house in 1,000 acres of parklandabout 5 minutes
the showground and the conference centre, about 10 miles awayabout 10 minutes
the edge of the national park is under 20 miles from the cityabout 15 minutes
for a long-haul connection, about 45 miles in a straight lineabout 30 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A country house, a showground or a hotel lawn needs the landowner's agreement and a site that suits the machine, so we confirm the landing place before we quote, not after;
– Hill and Pennine weather sets the schedule. Low cloud over the Dales can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a hill transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– For a show week or a race meeting, book the helicopter together with the jet. Rotary capacity is thin on the busiest days and is the first thing to run out.
The machines used on this ground are the Airbus H155, which seats up to eight and suits a larger party, the eight-seat Airbus AS365 Dauphin, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Leeds charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning meeting in Leeds and home before the handler closes
London Luton - Leeds Bradford and return, Citation CJ3+, about 45 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at half past seven, on the ground at Leeds Bradford before half past eight and, after the road into the city, in the meeting by ten. The aircraft and crew waited on the Multiflight apron and the return left before six, so no out-of-hours terms applied. It is a short day with a long lunch, and it works.
RACING · THE ROAD DECIDED THE AIRPORT
Six guests for a day at York races in August
Farnborough - Leeds Bradford, Embraer Phenom 300E, about 45 min · 6 pax
The party first asked for an airfield close to the course. The practical answer was Leeds Bradford, which has a dedicated handler, a long runway and a car route east to York, and which avoids depending on a private-use field that has to be cleared case by case. The cabin was chosen for the luggage that comes with a day in formal clothes, not for the seats.
SHOW WEEK · A HELICOPTER FOR THE LAST TEN MILES
A client party for the Great Yorkshire Show
Biggin Hill - Leeds Bradford, Citation CJ3+, about 50 min, then helicopter to Harrogate · 5 pax
A July show week, with hotel and car space already tight. The jet and helicopter were booked together six weeks ahead, the landing site was agreed before the quote and the helicopter was waiting on the apron when the jet landed. Left until the fortnight before the show, the same trip would have meant a long road transfer.
SKI · EARLY DEPARTURE FROM YORKSHIRE
A family week in the Alps without the drive to Manchester
Leeds Bradford - Geneva, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 45 min · 7 pax
A seven-person group with ski bags wanted to leave at half past six on the Saturday. That falls before the handler's normal day, so the out-of-hours request went in with the booking and the charges appeared in the quote. The XLS+ was chosen for the hold, since skis and boots fill a light jet well before the seats.
PET ON BOARD · THE RETURN TIMING
Three adults and a labrador for a weekend in Paris
Leeds Bradford - Paris Le Bourget and return, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 10 min each way · 3 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival in France, and the tapeworm treatment for the return had to be given by a vet in Paris no less than 24 hours and no more than five days before landing in Britain. We booked the vet appointment alongside the aircraft and the hotel, and settled the whole thing in a single exchange of messages.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING SOUTH
A jet already going your way
Leeds Bradford - London Luton, empty leg, about 45 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party to a Leeds weekend and was returning to its London base empty. The client gave us a three-day window rather than a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Leeds
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Leeds?
About 50 minutes from Biggin Hill and Farnborough and 45 minutes from Luton in a light jet, covering roughly 134 to 171 nautical miles. From Edinburgh or Glasgow allow about 45 minutes, and from Birmingham or Newcastle in a turboprop about 40 to 45 minutes. The airport is about 8 miles from the city centre, and the road from Leeds Bradford into Leeds takes 40 to 45 minutes in traffic.
2How much does a private jet to Leeds cost?
From about £3,100 one way in a turboprop from Birmingham or Newcastle, and from £5,300 in a light jet from any of the London airfields, because a short sector is billed at a minimum charge. Arrivals from abroad run higher: £5,300 from Dublin, £5,800 from Paris Le Bourget and £10,350 from Geneva. Race weeks, the Great Yorkshire Show and the August festival weekend price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Leeds?
Leeds Bradford (LBA / EGNM) for almost every trip. It is about 8 miles from the centre, has a 2,250 m runway, a dedicated handler in Multiflight and customs and immigration. Leeds East and Sherburn-in-Elmet are private or light-aircraft fields, Humberside is about 52 nautical miles away, and Manchester, about 39 nautical miles to the south-west, is the usual alternate.
4What are the opening hours at Leeds Bradford for a private jet?
The handler's normal hours are 08:00 to 18:00 every day, closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Outside them prior permission is needed through the duty officer and out-of-hours charges apply. Handling is mandatory for every flight, and night movements between 23:00 and 07:00 are capped, so an early or late flight is confirmed in writing before we quote it.
5Can a private jet fly to Leeds from abroad without stopping elsewhere?
Yes. Leeds Bradford is a designated customs and immigration airport, so a flight from Europe or the Gulf can land there directly. The operator files a General Aviation Report between 48 and 2 hours before departure, and every passenger needs a valid passport and any electronic travel authorisation or visa required. Landing first at a small field without customs risks a civil penalty.
6Can I take my dog on a private jet to or from Leeds?
Yes. The dog usually travels in the cabin with you. Within Britain no pet paperwork is needed. To go abroad it needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate for each trip. On the way back a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than five days before it lands in Britain.
