Private jet charter in Stockholm
A jet leaving London for Stockholm needs just over two hours, and the choice that shapes the trip is where it lands: Arlanda, which is open round the clock, or Bromma, a short drive from the centre but bound by noise limits and opening hours. Private Jets UK sets the charter around that choice. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Stockholm has two business aviation airfields, a Schengen border to clear on the way in and an archipelago of more than 24,000 islands to the east, so the real decisions are the airport, the hour of arrival and what happens on day two.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Stockholm depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London City, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Stockholm?
Two hours ten minutes from Luton in a Phenom, two hours twenty from Biggin Hill or London City in a CJ3+, and one hour of clock difference to allow for on arrival, because Sweden keeps Central European time. At 717 to 905 nautical miles from the British fields we use, Stockholm is a light-jet sector from the south of England and a comfortable one for a midsize cabin from the north. The table gives the sector from each field.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at Stockholm a little after ten local time. Arlanda lies about 37 km north of the city and the drive to the centre takes around 35 minutes; Bromma is about 7 km north-west, 10 to 15 minutes from the centre, which is why it is the airport that people with a diary full of meetings ask for. A client who left a London office at half past six can be at a lunch table in Stockholm before one. Add the drive to the British airfield and the whole journey comes to roughly four and a half hours, against most of a working day by scheduled service.
Light jet or midsize: how the choice usually goes on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, take a light jet. Just over two hours in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is no hardship, and what you save against a midsize cabin pays for the car and the hotel;
– Past four, or with winter kit for Åre, camera cases or a delegation with its folders, we quote a midsize alongside so that you see both figures. If Bromma is the plan, the aircraft matters even more: the airport limits noise and approach speed, so we check the exact aircraft before the quote, not after it;
– A heavy jet earns its place when the party is large, when the same aircraft stays with you across several Nordic stops, or when Stockholm is the first leg of something longer. Arlanda is the field for it; Bromma, with a 1,668 m runway, is not the field for a long-range heavy.

Prices for the private jet flights to Stockholm
Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all of them into Arlanda or Bromma. Nobel week, the fashion and design weeks and the Midsummer weekend can price above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Private jet flights from Stockholm
Stockholm is a good base for a Nordic and Baltic loop. Oslo, Helsinki, Tallinn and Gothenburg all sit inside a turboprop hour and ten minutes, Copenhagen is not much further, and the long Swedish distances to Åre, Visby and the south shrink to an hour or so in a turboprop. Typical one-way prices:

Onward from Stockholm: when the aircraft wins and when the car does
Gothenburg is 221 nautical miles from Arlanda, about 1 h 10 min in a Pilatus PC-12 against a long drive across the country. Visby, on the island of Gotland, is 125 nautical miles and about 50 minutes in the same turboprop, and the alternative is a sea crossing. Östersund, the airport for Åre, is 244 nautical miles and about 1 h 15 min; the resort lies roughly 94 km west of the airport. Båstad is the odd one: the tennis stadium is 25 km from Ängelholm-Helsingborg airport, which is 268 nautical miles from Stockholm. Every European destination on this list is inside the Schengen area, so the first landing carries the formalities and the hops after it are free of passport control.
Before you accept a Swedish onward quote
– Which airport at the far end, and what it can do for you. Visby fills for a week at the end of June, and Östersund is a ski-season airport, so handling and parking are checked before the quote is written, not after it;
– Whether the legs are one booking. Stockholm to Visby to Gothenburg and home over four days costs noticeably less arranged as one trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Stockholm:
Light jets, the usual choice for four or five people
At a little over two hours this is a comfortable sector for a small party with ordinary luggage, and the light class is also the one that fits Bromma most easily. Nothing here lacks the range, so the money is better spent on the car and the hotel than on a bigger cabin you will not fill.
Midsize, for ski bags and a week of winter clothes
The hold fills faster than the seats on a Swedish trip: skis and boots for Åre, boxes of samples for a design week, heavy coats in the dark months. Approach speed and noise level decide whether a given midsize can use Bromma, so ask for the exact aircraft.
Super-midsize and large
For a team that wants to work in the air, a group travelling as one party, or a trip that carries on from Stockholm to the Gulf or across the Atlantic. Arlanda, with a 3,301 m main runway, takes all of these.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the Swedish and Nordic hops: Gothenburg, Visby, Oslo and Helsinki are about an hour and a quarter or less in the air, and the saving over a jet on those distances is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: the inner archipelago, a summer house on an island without a runway, or the hop between Arlanda and Bromma. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Stockholm sits among Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki and Gothenburg, so there is often an aircraft within an hour of the airport, and a quote may name one of those cities as the positioning point. That is normal for a capital with a modest based fleet, and it is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Stockholm
Two airports carry the business jets, and the other two matter when the programme points away from the centre. The choice is rarely about the aircraft and nearly always about the diary: where the meeting is, what time it ends and how big the cabin is.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Stockholm Arlanda ARN / ESSA |
The default for almost every trip and the only choice for a long-range heavy. About 37 km north of the city, with three runways: 3,301 m (01L/19R) and two of 2,500 m (01R/19L and 08/26). Trip-support sources describe it as open round the clock with no noise or weight restrictions, though arrivals and departures are slot-controlled with a tolerance of about 15 minutes. Business aviation has two dedicated handlers. ASE Handling works from the general aviation ramp at Apron K, with VIP and CIP handling and its own VIP catering; its own pages give the FBO desk hours as 07:00 to 22:00. Grafair Jet Center works from Ramp J and lists round-the-clock service. Customs and immigration are normally cleared through the main terminal, with a fast-track lane arranged beforehand for a fee |
| Stockholm Bromma BMA / ESSB |
The city airport, about 7 km north-west of the centre, with a single runway of 1,668 m (12/30). Business jets are welcome and make up most of the landings, which is a good reason to book early: the airport is small. The limits are the point. Noise must stay within an average of 89 EPNdB on any movement, a trip-support source reports a maximum approach speed of 120 knots, and the published operating hours run roughly 07:00 to 22:00 on weekdays, 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays and 12:00 to 22:00 on Sundays. Trip-support sources say slots are not required. Handlers are Grafair Jet Center and IFLY FBO. Customs and immigration typically need about four hours' notice and are done at the FBO. Heavy long-range jets generally do not fit; light and many midsize jets do, and we check the exact aircraft |
| Stockholm Skavsta NYO / ESKN |
The southern alternative, about 5 km north-west of Nyköping and roughly 100 km south-west of Stockholm in a straight line (108 km by road), with two runways of 2,878 m and 2,039 m. It is a long way from any Stockholm meeting room and earns its place only when the programme is in Nyköping, Södermanland or on the south coast. Handling and customs cover are confirmed before we quote |
| Västerås Hässlö VST / ESOW |
The western alternative, about 110 km from Stockholm, with a 2,581 m asphalt runway and a busy general aviation field around it: corporate aircraft, helicopters, flight schools and maintenance shops. It makes sense for a meeting in Västerås or in the Mälaren towns, and not as a substitute for Arlanda. We confirm handling and customs availability for your date |
| Åre Östersund OSD / ESNZ |
Not an alternative to Stockholm but the airport where many winter trips actually end. A single 2,500 m runway, 11 km west of Östersund and about 94 km east of Åre. A turboprop from Stockholm turns a long road journey into a short flight, and the same aircraft can wait or return |
Four things to settle before a Stockholm landing:
Choose the handler
Swedavia requires a ground handler to be appointed, or a self-handling agreement signed, before any flight to or from its airports. At Arlanda the two business aviation names are ASE Handling and Grafair Jet Center; at Bromma they are Grafair and IFLY FBO. Catering at Arlanda typically needs about 12 hours' notice; at Bromma allow about 24 hours, because the food is brought in from outside the airport.
Hours, slots and noise
Arlanda has no curfew and typically asks for a slot request at least 24 hours ahead, ideally a few days. Bromma is reported to need no slot but closes in the evening and for much of the weekend, caps noise at 89 EPNdB, and sets rules on engine runs and the auxiliary power unit on the stand. For a late departure after a dinner or an older aircraft, we confirm in writing first.
Border and passport
Sweden is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border on arrival. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. A first-time visitor may be asked to register a photograph and fingerprints at the EU border system, which is free.
Car and late nights
Give us the ramp as well as the airport, because Arlanda has two business aviation ramps, Apron K for ASE Handling and Ramp J for Grafair, and a driver told only "Arlanda" may wait at the wrong door. For Bromma, the car should already be on the apron road, not at the main terminal, and the return flight needs to leave inside the evening hours.

Border, passport and landing permits
Britain is outside the Schengen area and Sweden is inside it, so the first landing carries passport control and customs, and that landing is where the formalities for the whole Nordic loop happen. After that the hops to Oslo, Helsinki, Tallinn and Copenhagen need no further passport control. Sweden does run border checks on travellers arriving from Denmark across the Öresund bridge and on ferries from Denmark and Germany, so a party that lands in Copenhagen to drive north should expect a check on the road.
A British operator also needs permission for the flight. A third-country operator running a charter to or from Sweden needs a traffic permit from the Swedish Transport Agency, in addition to its EU third-country operator authorisation. For a single ad hoc charter the application has to reach the agency no later than 48 hours before departure, with a certificate of insurance and the flight schedule; a series of flights needs 14 days. The operator files, we track it together with the rest of the paperwork, and a private flight in your own aircraft follows different rules that we confirm separately. For the return, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure.

From the apron to the archipelago
Stockholm is built on islands, which is why the airport you choose decides how the first hour goes. The centre is compact and walkable, the water is everywhere, and the distances that matter to a private client are the ones that run outward: to the two airports, east into the archipelago and, for those with a day or a week to spare, north to the mountains.
about 37 km north of the city, the airport for any trip that arrives late, early or with a large aircraftaround 35 minutes by car
about 7 km north-west, which is why meetings in the city centre make the case for Bromma10 to 15 minutes by car
108 km by road, past Nyköping, and only worth it for a destination in the southtypically about 1 hour 15 minutes
about 110 km to the west, along the Mälaren valleytypically about 1 hour 15 minutes
about 50 km east, on an island in the central archipelago, reached by ferry from Stavsnäs or from Stockholmferry journey varies by season
about 94 km west of the airport, the road a ski transfer is booked to covertypically a little over an hour
Flying to Stockholm with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork is the part of a Swedish trip that needs planning, and the flight is the easy bit: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector of just over two hours most simply sleep. Sweden adds one rule that catches people on a private charter, because a pet arriving from Britain must come into the EU through a designated entry point, and the Swedish ones are Arlanda and Landvetter at Gothenburg.

What Sweden asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination, because a vaccination given before the chip does not count. The chip number must appear on the health certificate;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, which becomes valid 21 days after the primary vaccination;
- A health certificate for each trip, issued by an Official Veterinarian, normally on the Swedish form for animals from outside the EU. A British pet passport is not valid, and you have 10 days from the vet's stamp to reach the entry point;
- A declaration that the animal travels with its owner and is not being sold, and a declaration of the animal to Swedish customs on arrival. An animal that is not reported can be refused entry;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Stockholm run
– The entry point comes first. Because Sweden designates Arlanda for pets arriving from outside the EU, a pet trip that lands first at Bromma, Skavsta or Västerås is a different conversation. Tell us about the animal when you ask for the quote, and we confirm the airport and the paperwork in writing before the flight;
– Sweden asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, only Britain asks for it on the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Stockholm towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and a flight that moves by a day can move the window out of reach;
– The order of the chip and the vaccine matters, and so does the date on the certificate. The certificate is checked line by line before the flight, not at the terminal.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Stockholm calendar: a design city with a Nobel week and a midsummer
Stockholm runs on a short list of weeks that fill the hotels and the apron at once: the fashion and design weeks in winter, Midsummer and the summer regattas, and the Nobel week in December. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why Nobel week and a design week cost more
Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Stockholm is well placed in it. What gets tight in those weeks is the number of good cars and rooms in the centre, the parking positions at Arlanda and, for Bromma, the few hours of the day in which it is open. A booking made two weeks before Nobel week can still be done, but it may mean an aircraft positioned from Copenhagen, Helsinki or Oslo, and that costs more. The same booking made four or five weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Stockholm is one of the easier capitals to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Stockholm price down
- Move the dates by a few days where you can. The weeks around Nobel week and the design weeks are calmer than the weeks themselves;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits in Copenhagen, Oslo or Helsinki takes less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful part of the bill;
- Do not pay for an airport you do not need. On the same light jet from Biggin Hill, Skavsta is priced about £650 lower than Arlanda and Västerås about £400 lower, but both add around 100 km of road to the centre, so let the location of the meeting decide.
Types of flights
Stockholm produces a different mix from the Alpine or the Mediterranean destinations we cover, because it is a capital, a financial and technology centre and the starting point of a long coastline of islands, all at once.
- Business and delegation travel, with fixed meeting dates and a small team: head offices, banks and technology companies are in the city, and a meeting often means a morning in and an afternoon out;
- Nobel week, fashion week and design week, when delegations, buyers and press arrive in small groups with a great deal of luggage;
- Midsummer, Sandhamn and the archipelago, where the flight is the start of a boat trip or a helicopter hop and the wish is to be on the water by the afternoon;
- Winter sport, with a transfer by turboprop to Östersund and a car or helicopter onward to Åre;
- Sport and festivals elsewhere in Sweden, from Almedalen Week in Visby to the tennis at Båstad, flown from Stockholm or from Britain direct;
- Hops to Oslo, Helsinki, Tallinn, Copenhagen and Gothenburg inside a longer Nordic loop.
The day trip is the one to look at closely. Land a little after ten, leave at five in the afternoon local time and you are on the British side again shortly after six in the evening, UK time, with seven hours on the ground in between. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. If Bromma is the landing airport, check the return departure against its closing hours. We quote it both ways, so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Stockholm has a few predictable sources of them, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Stockholm empty legs come from
– Nobel week and the fashion and design weeks. Aircraft bring delegations or buyers in and leave empty a day or two later, which produces outbound legs towards Britain in the days after;
– The Gotland and archipelago summer. Aircraft that take guests to Visby for Almedalen Week or to the coast for Midsummer sometimes reposition through Stockholm, and a leg towards Britain from there can be offered;
– Ski weekends. Operators moving aircraft between Stockholm, Östersund and the south put short legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
Because the Swedish corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Stockholm match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Stockholm a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The centre is small enough to cross by car or on foot, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the archipelago to the east and the short hop between the two airports. Helicopter operators work from Bromma, and one of them flies tours over the inner and outer archipelago, Vaxholm and Sandhamn.
the old town, the waterfront and the islands of the inner archipelago seen from the airtypically 30 minutes
about 50 km east, against a ferry journey that depends on the seasonabout 20 minutes
19 nm in a straight line, between the long-range runway and the city fieldabout 18 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, so we check the status of a hotel lawn or a summer house on an island before the quote is written, not after it;
– Weather sets the schedule. Fog, low cloud and winter snow can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road or ferry alternative planned into the same day;
– Book the helicopter together with the jet. In Nobel week and at Midsummer, rotary capacity is the first thing to sell out.
The machines on this ground include the Airbus H125 for scenic work, the wider H130 for villa and summer-house transfers, twins such as the Bell 429 and the Airbus H135 where a second engine is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Stockholm charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning meeting in Stockholm and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Stockholm and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 20 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground a little after ten local time, in the meeting by noon and back at Biggin Hill in the evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the FBO rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. Bromma was the landing airport, so the return departure was set to fall inside its evening hours. A long day, and it works.
NOBEL WEEK · FIXED DATES
A delegation for the December ceremony
Farnborough - Stockholm, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 20 min · 6 pax
The dates were set by the ceremony and not by the client. Six people, formal clothes in garment bags, and a request for one car to meet the aircraft. The booking went in five weeks ahead, the handler pre-arranged the passport check, and the aircraft left on the morning after the banquet without anything needing to be explained.
DESIGN WEEK · THE LUGGAGE BOOKED THE CABIN
A buying team with sample cases
London City - Stockholm, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 10 min · 4 pax
A February trip for a furniture buyer and her team. Rolled textiles and sample boxes took the hold well beyond what a light jet carries comfortably, so the quote moved to a midsize for the return. The Arlanda ramp and the car were named in the booking, so the driver was at the right door.
THE SKI SEASON · AN AIRCRAFT AT THE END OF THE ROAD
A family week at Åre
Biggin Hill - Östersund, Citation Latitude, about 2 h 20 min · 7 pax
The party wanted Åre, and the Stockholm detour on the way was not worth the extra time. We flew direct to Östersund, about 94 km from the resort, with the car and the ski bags waiting on the apron. The question that settled it was whether the day should begin on a road or in the air.
A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a long weekend
Southampton - Stockholm Arlanda, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 20 min · 4 pax + dog
The health certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, the animal had to enter at Arlanda, and the vet appointment in Stockholm for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked all of it with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING WEST
A jet already going your way
Stockholm - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h 10 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Stockholm
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Stockholm?
About 2 hours 10 minutes from Luton or Farnborough in a Phenom, and around 2 hours 20 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a Citation CJ3+, covering roughly 801 to 839 nautical miles. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow roughly 2 h 10 min to 2 h 25 min, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow about 2 hours. Sweden is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands a little after ten local time.
2How much does a private jet to Stockholm cost?
From about £11,100 one way on a light jet out of London City, £11,200 from Biggin Hill, and £11,100 to £11,500 in a Phenom from Luton or Farnborough. A midsize cabin runs £13,900 to £14,950 from Birmingham and the south, and from Scotland allow £15,950 to £16,600. Nobel week, the fashion and design weeks and the Midsummer weekend can price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use, Arlanda or Bromma?
Arlanda (ARN / ESSA) for most trips: it is about 37 km north of the city, open round the clock with no noise or weight restrictions reported, and has two business aviation handlers, ASE Handling and Grafair Jet Center. Bromma (BMA / ESSB) is about 7 km from the centre and accepts business jets, but has a 1,668 m runway, a noise limit of 89 EPNdB and shorter hours that close the airport in the evening and for much of the weekend, so it suits a light or midsize jet on a daytime trip. Skavsta (NYO) and Västerås (VST) are alternatives for meetings outside the city.
4Do I need a visa, a permit or customs clearance for Stockholm?
Britain is outside Schengen and Sweden is inside it, so you clear passport control and customs on arrival. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. A British operator running a charter needs a traffic permit from the Swedish Transport Agency, filed at least 48 hours ahead for a single ad hoc flight, alongside its EU third-country operator authorisation. We track the permit together with the aircraft paperwork.
5Can I fly on from Stockholm to Åre, Visby or Sandhamn?
Yes. Åre is reached through Östersund, 244 nautical miles from Stockholm and about 1 h 15 min in a PC-12, with the resort about 94 km from the airport. Visby on Gotland is 125 nautical miles and about 50 minutes in the same aircraft, which is the sector for Almedalen Week in late June. Sandhamn is about 50 km east of the city and is reached by ferry from Stavsnäs or Stockholm, or by helicopter in about 20 minutes if the landing site is agreed first.
6Can I take my dog to Stockholm on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and Sweden asks for a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and valid 21 days after the primary dose, and a health certificate from an Official Veterinarian. A British pet passport cannot be used, and the animal must enter the EU through a designated entry point, which in Sweden means Arlanda or Landvetter. Sweden asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, but a dog needs one from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
