Private jet charter in Mannheim
Mannheim looks easy on the map and a little awkward on the runway chart, and that gap decides how a private jet gets you there. The city has its own airfield a few minutes from the centre, but the runway is barely over a kilometre long, so the fields that really take business jets lie an hour away, Frankfurt first among them. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around the runway limits of the local airfield, the fair and festival dates and the length of the stay. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The useful decisions are which airfield to land on, how many people and bags the cabin must carry, and whether your dates fall in a fair or festival week.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Mannheim depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a flight to Frankfurt Airport in a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Mannheim?
An hour and twenty minutes from Biggin Hill to Frankfurt in a light jet, about an hour and three quarters from Edinburgh or Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference to remember on arrival, because Germany keeps Central European time. The table gives the sector from each British field we use to Frankfurt Airport, which is the field we price for Mannheim unless the aircraft and the date allow the city airfield. At 347 to 609 nautical miles nobody needs a heavy cabin for it, and the question is rarely range but how many people and how many bags. The last 33 nautical miles, about 61 km in a straight line, are done on the ground.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave Biggin Hill at seven and the wheels touch down at Frankfurt a little after nine local time. Passports and customs are dealt with inside the General Aviation Terminal, and the road to Mannheim is motorway most of the way, typically an hour outside the rush hours, so a client who left central London at half past five can be at a desk in Mannheim before eleven. Parties without much luggage sometimes take the ICE from the airport station instead, which the city's own website puts at 31 minutes to Mannheim Hauptbahnhof. The whole journey from central London to the centre of Mannheim comes to about three and a half hours.
Light jet or midsize: what decides it on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer. At an hour and twenty in a Citation CJ3+ the cabin is no hardship, and a Citation XLS+ on the same sector from Biggin Hill is priced about £1,400 higher one way;
– Past that, or with exhibition kit, plant-visit paperwork, a dog or a week of luggage for a fair, we quote a midsize jet beside it so you see both figures. Delegations usually carry more than the passenger list suggests, and the hold decides;
– If the plan is to land on the city airfield itself, the choice narrows to the smallest jets, whatever the party would like. The runway sets the class before the cabin does.

Private jet flights from Mannheim
Mannheim sits in the south-west corner of the country, so most onward sectors start with a short hop to the capitals and cities of the north and the south, and the longer ones head for the sun. Zurich and Munich are well under an hour away, Berlin and Hamburg are a light-jet sector, and the island of Sylt, which the city's own regional airline serves in the summer, is the usual holiday sector. The prices below are for a departure from Frankfurt; a light jet leaving from Mannheim City itself is priced on request. Typical one-way prices:

Short hops: when the aircraft is the wrong answer
Frankfurt Airport is only about 33 nautical miles from the middle of Mannheim, and the ICE does the journey in about half an hour. Heidelberg is about 20 km away, and Stuttgart, about 104 km in a straight line, is a plain road or rail journey. Sectors that short rarely repay the aircraft. The jet earns its fee when a long-haul connection waits at the far end, when the party is large, or when the aircraft stays with you for a second stop. For a plain city-to-city run we will say so and quote the road.
Before you accept an onward quote from Mannheim
– Which airfield it departs from. A quote out of Mannheim City tells you the aircraft is small, and a quote out of Frankfurt adds an hour on the road at the start. Ask for both, because the cheaper line on paper is not always the cheaper morning;
– The departure time against the airport's night rules. Frankfurt keeps a night flight ban between 23:00 and 05:00, and the city airfield closes much earlier, so a dinner that runs late is the usual reason a quote changes on the day;
– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Mannheim to Zurich to Nice arranged as one trip costs noticeably less than three separate quotes, because the crew and aircraft stay with you instead of repositioning each time.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Mannheim:
Light jets, and where most bookings land
At an hour and twenty this is the sensible class for four or five people with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range for Frankfurt, and the smallest of them are also the only ones that have a chance on the short runway of the city airfield, so the choice of type matters more here than the size of the cabin.
Midsize, for plant-visit paperwork and a longer stay
Sample cases, exhibition kit and a week of Maimarkt luggage are what push a party past the light-jet hold, and the extra cabin height helps on the Scottish and northern sectors. These land at Frankfurt, not at the city airfield.
Super-midsize and large
For a board travelling as one party, for a team that needs to work in the air, and for trips that carry on from the Rhine to the Gulf or beyond instead of turning round.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the short onward legs to Stuttgart, Baden-Baden or Zurich: each is about half an hour in the air, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: from Frankfurt to a plant on the Rhine, from the city airfield to a castle garden or a meeting that cannot wait for the motorway. German rules on where a helicopter may put down are strict, so the site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Mannheim sits inside the Frankfurt fleet, one of the busiest in continental Europe, so for a booking that is not in the week of a large fair there is usually an aircraft within an hour of the airport, and that is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports for Mannheim
Mannheim has an airfield of its own but no airport within the city that takes the full range of business jets, so the choice is between one large airport, one very small one and two regional fields on either side. It helps to know them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Frankfurt Airport FRA / EDDF |
The answer for almost every trip and the airport we price. About 65 km north of Mannheim, with parallel runways of 4,000 m, a General Aviation Terminal in Cargo City South, customs and immigration on site and several ground handlers listed on the field. Slots are needed and the night flight ban runs from 23:00 to 05:00, so the return leg is planned against the clock |
| Mannheim City Airport MHG / EDFM |
The local airfield, about 3.5 km east of the city centre in the Neuostheim district, with one paved runway, 09/27, of 1,066 m by 25 m and a localiser approach for runway 27. Published hours run from 06:00 to 21:00 local time on weekdays and 08:00 to 20:00 on weekends and holidays, with prior permission outside them. A handling database lists customs on request with 30 minutes' notice and no slot requirement. Fuel by truck and station, a crew lounge and catering are available. A fit for the smallest jets once the operator has checked the performance |
| Frankfurt-Egelsbach EDFE |
A general aviation field about 10 km south-east of Frankfurt Airport and about 55 km in a straight line from Mannheim, with an asphalt runway of 1,400 m. The airfield states that it operates VFR only, asks jet crews in approach categories B and C to complete its briefing, and requires prior permission for aircraft between 5.7 and 20 tonnes. We could not confirm customs facilities for flights arriving from Britain, so we do not plan the arrival there without a written confirmation |
| Stuttgart STR / EDDS |
About 105 km south-east of Mannheim in a straight line. A large airport with its own General Aviation Terminal and customs, but strict night rules and a longer drive. A sensible choice when the trip is half Swabia and half Rhine-Neckar |
| Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden FKB / EDSB |
About 85 km south-west of Mannheim in a straight line, with a 3,120 m runway, customs on site and no slot requirement. The published day is shorter than Frankfurt's, so it suits a trip that is half Black Forest and half Rhine-Neckar rather than a late return from a Mannheim dinner |
Four points settle most Mannheim arrivals:
Choose the airfield first
Frankfurt for anything larger than the smallest jets, for a late departure, for a party with luggage or when the border formalities must be certain. Mannheim City only when the operator confirms in writing that the aircraft can use 1,066 m on your date, at your weight and in the forecast weather. We give you both lines in the quote.
Hours, slots and the night rules
Frankfurt is slot coordinated and keeps its night flight ban from 23:00 to 05:00. The city airfield works fixed hours, with prior permission needed outside them, and no slot is required. A departure at six or seven in the evening avoids the question altogether, and we confirm what applies to your aircraft in writing.
Border and passport
Germany is in Schengen and Britain is not, so passport control and customs are done on arrival, at the General Aviation Terminal in Frankfurt. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years before arrival and valid for at least three months after departure. Flying home, a General Aviation Report is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure.
Car and the last stretch
The drive from the Frankfurt apron to the middle of Mannheim is typically an hour by motorway, and the ICE takes about half an hour from the airport station. Give us the address of the meeting as well as the flight, because the car is often needed for a plant in Ludwigshafen or on the Rhine bank and not for the city centre. In the Maimarkt week put the car in the quote from the start.

Border, passport and the question of the city airfield
The simplest arrival is at Frankfurt: you land at the General Aviation Terminal, the passports are checked inside the building, and the car is at the door. Landing at Mannheim City is possible in principle, because a handling database lists customs on request, but that depends on notice, on the opening hours and on the hour of your arrival, and a delay can turn a clean plan into a closed field. We treat it as an option to confirm on the day we book and not as the default. Once you are through, the roads to Heidelberg, Speyer and the Pfalz are inside Schengen with no further border stop.

From the apron to the Wasserturm
Mannheim has about 318,000 residents and lies where the Neckar joins the Rhine, in the north-west corner of Baden-Württemberg, with Ludwigshafen on the opposite bank in the Rhineland-Palatinate. The old centre is laid out as a grid, which is why the city is called the Quadratestadt: most central streets have no name, and a block is given a letter and a number. The Wasserturm, 60 metres high, stands over the Friedrichsplatz and is the symbol of the city, and the Baroque palace beside the old town is one of the largest in Europe. The distances that matter for a visitor run outward, to Heidelberg, to Speyer and to the wine villages of the Pfalz.
about 61 km in a straight line, a little more by road; the ICE takes about 31 minutes between the airport station and the Hauptbahnhoftypically 1 hour by car
about 3.5 km east of the centre, with tram lines 5 and 6 from the Neuostheim stopa few minutes by car
about 20 km along the Neckar, with the castle ruin above the old townabout 25 minutes
about 20 km south on the Rhine, for the cathedralabout 30 minutes
between Mannheim and Heidelberg, for the palace garden and the festivalabout 25 minutes
about 25 km west, at the foot of the Pfalz wine countryabout 35 minutes
What private clients do here is mostly industry with a long view over the river. BASF has its largest integrated production site in Ludwigshafen, with some 33,000 people working there, and the company was founded in Mannheim before it moved across the Rhine. On the Mannheim side, John Deere builds tractors on a site that began as the Heinrich Lanz works and is its largest facility outside North America, and Daimler Truck makes engines and components at a plant that has stood in the Waldhof district for over a century. The Rhine port is described by the city as the second largest inland port in Europe. A morning at a plant, lunch at the university and a walk through the Palace is an ordinary programme.
The sights are compact. The palace has a frontage of about 450 metres and the University of Mannheim uses it as its central complex, so a visitor walks past students on the way to the state rooms. Luisenpark covers 42 hectares on the Neckar, with a Chinese garden, a glasshouse with butterflies and a 205-metre telecommunications tower with a restaurant at 125 metres. The Technoseum, the state museum of technology and work, tells the story of industrialisation in the south-west, and Carl Benz invented his first automobile in this city. In the evening the Nationaltheater, where Schiller's The Robbers had its first night, and the SAP Arena share the programme. Hosts take guests up the Neckar for a walk in Heidelberg or south to Speyer for an afternoon.
Flying to Mannheim with a dog or a cat
Germany asks for more paperwork than the flight takes, and the flight is short enough that most animals sleep through it. The animal sits beside you in the cabin with no hold involved. What matters is that the certificate is dated correctly, because it has a ten-day life from the day it is issued.

What Germany asks for:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or on the same day, never after it;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before entry;
- An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued no more than ten days before the animal enters the EU, and valid for the return as stated on the certificate;
- No more than five animals per traveller, presented at the first point of entry into the EU, which the handler coordinates at the terminal;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before the return flight to Britain, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Mannheim run
– The tapeworm treatment is for the way home, not the way out, so it is a vet appointment you book in the Rhine-Neckar region itself, towards the end of the stay. The 24 to 120 hour window is tight on a short trip, and a Sunday departure can leave a gap if the surgery is shut;
– A GB pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU. The certificate has to be a fresh one for each trip, and a dog whose rabies vaccination lapses while it is away loses the right to come back on it;
– If the dog is coming to a hotel in Heidelberg or a country inn in the Pfalz, settle the accommodation before the quote, because a hotel has to accept the animal. Back in Britain, we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Mannheim calendar: fairs in spring, wine in autumn
Mannheim works all year, and the peaks come from three directions: the big regional fair in spring, the corporate diary of the chemical and engineering firms, and the festivals of the surrounding villages. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a Maimarkt week costs more
Not the flying. The Frankfurt fleet is large and Mannheim sits comfortably inside it. What gets tight is the hotel room, the good car, the handling slot at Frankfurt and the hour of departure, all in the same few days, because every exhibitor and every hosting group wants the same Friday evening. A booking made a fortnight before the Maimarkt or a large Frankfurt fair can still be done, but it pays more and may use an aircraft positioned from another country. The same booking made three or four weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper, and outside those weeks a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Mannheim price down
- Move the dates a few days where you can. The weeks between the wine festivals and the Christmas markets, and the summer outside the Maimarkt, are calm;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Zurich or Cologne takes less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful share of the bill;
- Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved buys the car and the hotel;
- Leave in the early evening. A departure at six or seven avoids the night rules and the question of what happens if the dinner runs on.
Types of flights
Mannheim produces a different mix from the capital cities we cover, because the city is an industrial and trading centre first and a place to be entertained second.
- Chemical and engineering business, with a morning at a plant in Ludwigshafen or Mannheim and a return the same evening;
- Agricultural machinery and commercial vehicle delegations, from dealers and buyers visiting the tractor works and the engine plant;
- Exhibitors and buyers for the Maimarkt and the congress business at the Rosengarten, often small teams that need their own schedule;
- Heritage and wine weekends, combining Heidelberg, Speyer, Schwetzingen and the Pfalz wine villages;
- Match and concert evenings at the SAP Arena, and Christmas market weekends, many of them with a dog;
- Combined trips with Frankfurt, Stuttgart or Baden-Baden, landing at one and leaving from another.
The day trip is worth a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Leaving Biggin Hill at seven and being back in Britain by early evening is realistic, and on this route we quote the day trip both ways so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Mannheim route they come from the rhythm of the corporate week and the festival weekends, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Mannheim empty legs come from
– The Maimarkt and the large Frankfurt fairs. Aircraft bring delegations in on the Monday and leave empty on the Thursday or Friday, and that return leg is the one most often offered, provided it leaves before the evening rules apply;
– Corporate days. A plant visit that finishes at lunch frees the aircraft, which then goes back to its base empty in the afternoon;
– The Christmas market season. Short weekend stays fill the aircraft one way, and the return to the base is released as an empty leg.
Because the Rhine-Neckar corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Frankfurt or Mannheim match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In the Rhine-Neckar region a helicopter is a tool for the last stretch. The plain is flat, the motorways are busy and the places a visitor wants to reach, Heidelberg castle, the palace in Schwetzingen and the wine villages, are all within a short hop of the city airfield, which accepts helicopters. The challenge is not the flying but the landing site.
the direct line, against about an hour on the roadabout 62 km, around 25 min
a short hop over the Neckar plain to the old town and castleabout 15 km, around 10 min
south along the Rhine to the cathedralabout 18 km, around 15 min
the motorway alternative for a party in a hurryabout 101 km, around 35 min
possible only with the landowner and the aviation authority both agreeingsite approval first
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter in Germany cannot land wherever it likes. Take-off and landing outside an approved airfield need both the landowner's consent and a permit from the aviation authority, so a factory pad or a private garden has its status confirmed before we quote, not after;
– Weather sets the schedule. Low cloud or fog in the Rhine valley can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– In the Maimarkt week and on big match nights book the helicopter together with the jet or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for short hops, the wider H130 for villa and castle transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted. The distances in the table are straight lines and the times are planning figures with a margin for start-up and approach. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Mannheim charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A chemical-industry meeting and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Frankfurt and return, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 20 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground at Frankfurt a little after nine local time, in the meeting room in Ludwigshafen by eleven and back at Biggin Hill well before the evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the General Aviation Terminal rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. The return left in the afternoon, long before the night ban mattered.
MAIMARKT · THE LUGGAGE BOOKED THE CABIN
Six people, display kit and a week at the fair
Farnborough - Frankfurt, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 25 min · 6 pax
Product samples and stand material took the hold well beyond what a light jet carries comfortably, so the quote moved up a class for the luggage and not for the seats. The dates were set by the fair, the booking went in four weeks ahead, and the car took the party to the fairground after the drive from Frankfurt.
CITY AIRFIELD · A LIGHT JET, A LIGHT LOAD
Two executives and one bag, straight to the edge of town
London City - Mannheim City by the smallest light jet, planned on a performance check · 2 pax
The operator ran the numbers for the 1,066 m runway at the weight and temperature of the day, the customs notice was given in advance and the hours were checked against the arrival time. It saved the drive from Frankfurt, but the plan carried a fallback to Frankfurt in the same quote, in case the check changed.
WINE AND HERITAGE · A WEEKEND ON THE RHINE
Four friends, Heidelberg, Speyer and the Pfalz
Birmingham - Frankfurt, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 25 min · 4 pax
A car met the party at the General Aviation Terminal and drove them to Heidelberg for the castle and the old town, then to Speyer for the cathedral and to a wine village for the Sunday lunch. The party flew home on the Sunday afternoon, and the round trip was quoted below two separate single sectors.
CHRISTMAS MARKET · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a December weekend
Southampton - Frankfurt, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 25 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in the Rhine-Neckar region for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and everything was settled in a single exchange of messages.
EMPTY LEG · FRIDAY AFTERNOON WEST
A jet already going your way
Frankfurt - London Luton, Citation CJ3+ empty leg, about 1 h 25 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a delegation in on the Monday and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Friday afternoon departure ahead of the night ban.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Mannheim
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Mannheim?
About 1 hour 20 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, and about 1 hour 25 minutes from Luton, Farnborough, Southampton or Birmingham, to Frankfurt Airport, where we normally land for Mannheim. From Manchester or Cardiff allow about 1 hour 35, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow about 1 hour 45 to 1 hour 50. Germany is one hour ahead of Britain, and the drive from Frankfurt to the centre of Mannheim adds typically an hour.
2How much does a private jet to Mannheim cost?
From about £5,750 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill or London City, £6,000 from Luton and £6,100 from Farnborough, all priced into Frankfurt. A Phenom 300E from Southampton, Birmingham or Bristol runs £6,400 to £7,050, and from Scotland allow £13,100 to £13,650. The week of the Maimarkt and the Christmas market weekends price above these figures.
3Can a private jet land at Mannheim City Airport?
Only a small one, and only after the operator has checked the performance for the day. The paved runway is 1,066 m long and 25 m wide, there is a localiser approach to runway 27 but no full ILS, and the airfield keeps set hours with prior permission outside them. The airport is about 3.5 km from the centre, so for a light jet with a light load it can save an hour on the road. For most trips we land at Frankfurt and confirm the choice in writing before you pay.
4Which airport is best for a private jet to Mannheim?
Frankfurt Airport (FRA / EDDF), about 61 km north of Mannheim, has a General Aviation Terminal, customs and the full range of handling. Mannheim City (MHG / EDFM) suits light jets. Stuttgart (STR / EDDS) and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB / EDSB) are each about 85 to 105 km away in a straight line and make sense when the trip also covers their own regions. The ICE train takes about half an hour from Frankfurt Airport to Mannheim Hauptbahnhof.
5When should I book a private jet to Mannheim?
Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the Maimarkt, which opens on the last Saturday of April and runs eleven days, for the Wurstmarkt weekends in September and for the Christmas market weekends, allow three to four weeks. Frankfurt's own large fair weeks also tighten slots and aircraft, so check them before you fix a date.
6Can I take my dog to Mannheim on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you. Germany asks for a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older with 21 days elapsed, and an Animal Health Certificate issued within ten days of entry. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
