Features and successes of Piper in business aviation

Piper Aircraft Company was founded in 1927. Since the 1960s it has been one of the "Big Three" American manufacturers of light private jets and business aviation jets along with Beechcraft and Cessna. More than 90,000 Piper aircraft of various models and modifications are in service today.

The headquarters and main factory of Piper Aircraft are located on the territory of the Vero Beach Regional Airport in Florida, USA. In 2009, Piper Aircraft Company was purchased by the Sultan of Brunei.

Today's Piper product line includes mostly single- and twin-engine turboprops with high-positioned wings. The most popular aircraft are modifications of the single basic model under the brand names Piper PA-46-310P Malibu, PA-46-350P Malibu Mirage and Malibu Meridian. In 2007, an upgraded PA-46R-350T Matrix model appeared. More recently, this entire line of models has been merged into the Piper M-Class category.

2016 marked the year for Piper Aircraft with the launch of the Piper M600, which is capable of using very short runways. The new configuration of the wings allows for the placement of large fuel tanks (984 liters). Garmin G3000 avionics is integrated into the design. The turbocharged engine Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A of 600 hp provides a cruising speed of up to 507 km/h. Beginning in 2020, the Piper M600 SLS aircraft will be equipped with the Garmin Autoland automatic emergency landing system, which is activated at the touch of a button, for the first time in the history of small aircraft. The system can be activated by a pilot or even a passenger.

In 2008, Piper Aircraft introduced the world's first single-engine jet PiperJet with a compact Williams FJ44 turbofan engine specially designed for ultra-light aircraft. The motor is mounted in a nacelle built into the vertical keel. The PiperJet is designed for 5-7 passengers, its speed is 666 km/h and range is up to 2,407 km. The PiperJet was a worthy competitor to the twin-engine Eclipse 500 and Cessna Citation Mustang.

In September 2020, the experimental Piper propeller aircraft took to the skies for the first time. The piston engine was replaced by a hydrogen fuel cell motor. Instead of smoke, it emits only water vapor into the atmosphere.

Stages of flight preparation

A business jet flight is carefully prepared. The whole organization of the flight consists of several stages:

1. Planning. At this stage, the request received from the customer is processed, the most suitable aircraft are selected, legal issues and flight safety issues are resolved;
2. A contract is concluded. The contract specifies the obligations of the parties, the route schedule, departure dates, and cost. The agreement is drawn up in two copies, the first remains with the air broker, the other is for the client. The payment is possible in any way that suits the customer;
3. Ensuring the flight. This is one of the most important stages of flight organization. The air broker coordinates the receipt of slots, submits requests to the aviation services for departure and landing, looks for suitable VIP terminals;
4. Flying in ideal conditions. After signing the contract, passengers of charter flights are only required to arrive at the airport on time, board, and spend time in the sky in a pleasant atmosphere.

If necessary, air brokers will arrange a transfer from the arrival airport, book a hotel or find the best accommodation in the private sector.

How to pay for a flight and refund money for a failed flight

Payment for the aircraft lease is carried out after the signing of the contract. You can deposit cash or make a wire transfer. In some situations, an invoice is more convenient, but in any case, our company allows the client to choose the payment method that is more profitable for him/her.

If the scheduled flight is canceled at the client’s request, the funds won’t be returned in full. This is quite understandable since certain costs for the organization of the flight were already on the part of the air broker. However, our company tries to make sure that the client loses as little as possible. In those situations, when the lease is canceled due to our fault, which fortunately happens extremely rarely, the funds are returned in full.
