Private jet charter in Hawaii
Hawaii lies about 6,257 nautical miles from London, further than most business jets can fly in one go and far beyond anything a light or midsize cabin will attempt. That one figure shapes the rest of this page. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around the aircraft that can do it. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Hawaii is an island state and not a single airport: Honolulu takes the large jets arriving from Britain, while Maui, Kona and Kauai are reached by the turboprops and light jets that carry you on, so the real decisions are the cabin, the stop in the United States and the dates.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Hawaii depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, a Bombardier Global 6000 with a stop in Seattle and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Hawaii?
Plan on about 14 hours 25 minutes in the air from London, plus an hour or so on the ground at a stop in the United States. A Global 6000 flying from Luton to Seattle's Boeing Field and on to Honolulu covers 6,725 nautical miles in two legs, against 6,257 in a straight line, because the route bends only slightly to reach a US airport of entry. Hawaii keeps UTC minus ten all year and does not move its clocks, so Honolulu is ten hours behind Britain in winter and eleven while British Summer Time runs. On paper the largest long-range jets can reach Honolulu from London without stopping. The table prices the stop version, because headwinds going west, fuel reserves and a full cabin make that the safer plan. It gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave Luton at eight on a winter morning and the aircraft reaches Seattle in the middle of the morning, local time. It takes fuel, clears US customs and goes on, landing in Honolulu in the early afternoon of the same calendar day, about 15 hours 40 minutes after leaving home. The airport is roughly 9 miles from Waikiki and the drive takes 15 to 25 minutes outside the rush hours. What the day costs is the body clock: a traveller who left at breakfast arrives ten hours out of step, and most people who can manage it keep the first evening quiet.
Which aircraft can fly it, and why there is a stop
– The class that works is ultra-long-range: the Global 6000 with a published range of 6,000 nautical miles, the Gulfstream G550 at 6,750, the G650ER at 7,500 and the Global 7500 at 7,700. The Global 6000 with one stop is the economical way across. The other three are chosen for margin, and for the chance of a single leg when the operator will commit to it;
– The stop is also where the aircraft clears US customs, so it is picked for its handlers as much as for its fuel. Seattle Boeing Field is an airport of entry with three handlers, San Francisco carries customs landing rights, and Van Nuys, a customs user-fee airport with strict noise limits, is the stop we like least for a heavy departure;
– Large-cabin jets with less range, such as the Challenger 605 or the Falcon 2000LXS, can usually be made to reach Hawaii with two stops. The day grows by several hours, and the saving over an ultra-long-range jet is smaller than the hourly rates suggest, so we price that version only when the budget decides.

The spread between London and Scotland is small, since Glasgow and Edinburgh sit a little nearer the Pacific route, and it matters less than the choice of aircraft: the same journey from Luton costs £184,650 on a Global 6000 and £234,850 on a Global 7500. A one-way price on a route this long carries the cost of the aircraft getting home, so a round trip quoted as one booking usually comes out cheaper than two separate one-way flights.

The aircraft from London and the islands: a rule worth knowing
The jet that flew you from Britain is almost certainly not US-registered, and US rules do not let a foreign-registered aircraft carry paying passengers between two US points unless those passengers arrived on it from abroad or are leaving the country on it. In practice your own party can hop from Honolulu to Maui or Kona on the same aircraft, with a permit to proceed that the handler arranges with customs. A friend who joins you on Oahu cannot ride along, because that becomes a domestic charter, and for such passengers, and for any island sector flown separately from the crossing, we use a US-registered operator. Penalties are assessed per passenger and can include grounding of the aircraft, so a reputable crew will refuse such a flight, and it is better to hear that from us than at the aircraft door.
Before you accept an island quote
– Which airport on the island, and what it allows. Kapalua on West Maui is restricted to airline-type operators with permission, bans jets and helicopters and has a 3,000 ft runway, so West Maui trips use Kahului and a road transfer of 45 to 65 minutes to Kaanapali. Lanai is closed overnight to air carrier operations of ten or more seats unless permission is given;
– Fuel and hours. Jet fuel at Kahului is listed as available from 07:00 to 18:00 local time and at Kona from 08:00 to 17:00, with the handlers arranging it at other times. A quote that says nothing about fuel outside those hours is a quote that will change;
– One booking or two. Keeping the long-haul aircraft for the island hops adds crew duty time and a permit to proceed to the plan, and a separate US operator is often simpler and cheaper.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Hawaii:
Ultra-long-range jets, for the crossing
Nothing smaller makes sense from Britain. These types fly the Atlantic and the continent to the Pacific coast with room to spare, and the last two can attempt the whole distance when the wind allows.
Large cabin, for the Pacific and the mainland
Honolulu to the west coast is about 2,200 nautical miles, comfortably inside the reach of a large-cabin jet, which is why these types do the Pacific legs and the Tokyo run.
Light and midsize, for the island hops
Between the islands the sectors are well under 200 nautical miles and the money goes on the hour, not on range. Runways of 5,000 to 7,000 feet suit these jets, though each island airport has its own rules.
Turboprops
The usual aircraft for Honolulu to Maui, Kauai or Lanai. On sectors of 66 to 92 nautical miles a jet gains nothing, and the turboprop is also the aircraft the shorter island runways suit best.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a resort coast an hour from the runway, a lawn with no runway at all. Landing sites are agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. The ultra-long-range fleet is far smaller than the European midsize fleet, and few of those aircraft happen to be near Britain on a given date, so the better price often comes from one already positioned in Europe or on the US west coast. The first quote is rarely the last word on that.

Business aviation airports in Hawaii
Hawaii has no single airport, and the choice of island is the choice of airport. Five of them take jets and handle customs, and two more are small fields with restrictions worth knowing before a quote arrives with one of them in it.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Honolulu, Daniel K. Inouye International HNL / PHNL |
The gateway for Oahu and the landing point for the long-haul flights, about 9 miles from Waikiki by road. Four paved runways, the longest 12,360 ft (3,767 m) and 12,000 ft (3,658 m), long enough for any of the ultra-long-range jets we send. Three handlers serve business aviation: Castle & Cooke Aviation, Signature and Atlantic Aviation. The airport has customs landing rights and a CBP officer clears the aircraft on the ramp. No curfew is published and no slot is needed for business jets, though 07:00 to 10:30 is the busiest block |
| Kahului OGG / PHOG |
Maui's airport for jets, 3 miles east of Kahului town. Two runways of 6,998 ft (2,133 m) and 4,980 ft (1,518 m), enough for a large-cabin jet on an ordinary load and a reason for the crew to check performance before a full-fuel departure. Atlantic Aviation and Signature handle business aircraft, customs landing rights are listed, no curfew is published and the tower works from 06:00 until 23:00 or midnight, depending on the season |
| Kona International KOA / PHKO |
The Big Island's main airport, 6 miles north-west of Kailua-Kona, with one runway of 11,000 ft (3,353 m), long enough for any jet we send. Atlantic Aviation, Signature and the independent Big Island Jet Center handle business aviation. Customs is on the south ramp and transient parking needs the airport manager's permission. Attendance runs from 06:00 to 22:00, and the Kohala Coast resorts lie on this side of the island |
| Hilo International ITO / PHTO |
The other side of the Big Island, 2 miles east of Hilo, with runways of 9,803 ft (2,988 m) and 5,601 ft (1,707 m). Atlantic Aviation and Signature are both listed, customs landing rights are published and the tower runs from 06:00 to 22:00. The airport for the volcano side of the island and for Merrie Monarch week; Kona is 1.5 to 2 hours away by road |
| Lihue LIH / PHLI |
Kauai's airport for jets, 2 miles east of Lihue, with two runways of 6,500 ft (1,981 m). Atlantic Aviation and Signature handle business aircraft, customs landing rights are listed and the airport is attended from 05:00 to midnight. Transient parking needs permission from Airport Operations, and large flocks of birds, including the Nene goose, are a listed hazard near the runways |
| Lanai LNY / PHNY |
A 5,001 ft (1,524 m) runway 3 miles south-west of Lanai City. Atlantic Aviation and Signature are listed, but the airport lists no customs, so it is a second stop for a party already cleared in Hawaii and never a first landing. Air carrier operations of ten or more seats are closed from 19:30 to 06:00 without permission, parking is limited to one hour unless arranged, and the final approach to runway 3 is subject to severe updrafts and downdrafts |
| Kapalua JHM / PHJH |
West Maui's small field, with a 3,000 ft (914 m) runway 5 miles north-west of Lahaina. It is private use, restricted to airline-type operators with permission, and bans both jets and helicopters, so for our purposes it is an airport to know about and not to book |
| On the way: Seattle, San Francisco, Van Nuys BFI / KBFI, SFO / KSFO, VNY / KVNY |
The stops on the crossing. Boeing Field has a 10,007 ft (3,050 m) runway, three handlers (Modern Aviation, Signature and Skyservice) and is an airport of entry. San Francisco has an 11,870 ft (3,618 m) runway, Signature as its business aviation handler and a noise-sensitive status. Van Nuys has an 8,001 ft (2,439 m) runway, several business aviation handlers, among them Signature, Jet Aviation and Clay Lacy Aviation, a request to avoid jet operations from 23:00 to 07:00 and tight noise limits |
Four points settle most Hawaii arrivals:
Choose the island and the handler
Honolulu serves Oahu, Kahului serves Maui, Kona and Hilo split the Big Island and Lihue serves Kauai. Atlantic Aviation and Signature appear at all five, with Castle & Cooke in Honolulu and Big Island Jet Center in Kona as the local independents. Tell us where the hotel is and we choose the airport from that, not from the map.
Hours, slots and noise
None of the five main airports publishes a curfew. Honolulu asks for no slot, though clearance of an arriving aircraft is requested from CBP in advance, and Kahului and Kona list restricted fuel hours. Lanai and Kapalua are the exceptions, with night closures and permission rules, so they are checked before any quote is sent.
Border and passport
British passport holders need an ESTA or a visa, and an ESTA covers stays of up to 90 days. A CBP officer meets the aircraft on the ramp and processes everyone beside it. Hawaii also asks for an agriculture form for each aircraft arriving from the mainland.
Cars and hotels
From mid-November to early January hotel rooms are scarce, sometimes booked six months ahead, and rental cars can run out. Standard hotel cancellation terms are 48 to 72 hours before check-in. For those weeks a prepaid car and driver is the sensible plan, and we put it in the quote from the start.

Border, passport and the agriculture check
For a party from Britain the border is crossed at the first US airport, which means Seattle or San Francisco and not Honolulu, and the paperwork is the same as for any entry to the United States. The handler submits the crew and passenger manifest in advance, the aircraft is met on the ramp, and clearance usually takes about a quarter of an hour. An arrival from abroad directly into Honolulu, from Tokyo for instance, needs CBP permission to land requested before the aircraft leaves the foreign airport and at least two hours before arrival, within a window of 30 minutes either way. The agriculture check is the part that surprises clients. Leaving Hawaii for the mainland, a USDA inspector meets the aircraft an hour before departure, and nothing is loaded until the inspector has arrived. Restricted fresh produce has to come from a certified caterer, labelled and sealed.

From the apron to the beach
On these islands the airport is rarely the problem and the road is. Honolulu's H-1 freeway can add 30 to 60 minutes in the rush hours, and on the other islands a resort coast can sit an hour from the runway. The times below are for light traffic.
about 9 miles, with the freeway slow in the rush hours of roughly 6:00 to 8:30 and 3:00 to 6:3015 to 25 minutes

about 29 miles, and slower on the surf days of winter45 min to 1 h 10 min

Flying to Hawaii with a dog or a cat
Hawaii keeps itself free of rabies with a quarantine programme, and that makes it the hardest pet destination we deal with. The animal still sits in the cabin beside you, but the work is done months before the flight and not in the week of it. The first trip is the difficult one: once a pet has been through the system, later entries are simpler.

What the Hawaii Department of Agriculture asks for under its direct airport release route at Honolulu:
- A microchip, implanted before the rabies antibody test and scanned by a vet to confirm that it reads correctly;
- At least two rabies vaccinations in the animal's life, more than 30 days apart, the latest more than 30 days before arrival and within the vaccine's booster interval;
- A rabies antibody test (FAVN) at an approved laboratory, with a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml. The result stays valid for 36 months, and the sample must have reached the laboratory at least 30 days before arrival;
- An original health certificate in English issued within 14 days of arrival, with a tick treatment recorded inside that window;
- The paperwork and fee lodged with the Animal Quarantine Station ahead of arrival. The checklist we read gives ten days for Honolulu, and our managers confirm the current deadline;
- Delivery to the airport holding facility during inspection hours, 8:00 to 16:30. An animal that arrives after those hours is collected the following morning, and one that misses any step is quarantined for up to 120 days.
What catches owners out on the Hawaii run
– The clock starts months ahead. The antibody test and the 30-day wait come first and the flight date second, so a pet that has not been through them cannot be on the first trip, however flexible the aircraft is;
– Entering the United States has its own rule for dogs. Every dog needs a CDC Dog Import Form receipt, with microchip and rabies records, before it lands at the first US airport, which for our crossing is the stop and not Honolulu;
– Coming home, the United States counts as a Part 2 country for Great Britain. The animal needs a Great Britain pet health certificate issued no more than ten days before entry, because pet passports and animal health certificates are not accepted. The rabies vaccination must be at least 21 days old, and a dog needs a tapeworm treatment between 24 hours and five days before entering Britain. The journey is about 16 hours, so the vet visit is planned around it.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken. We also check that the route back into Britain is an approved one for animals before the quote is sent.
The Hawaii calendar: a winter peak with a sporting habit
Hawaii has a long peak and a short list of events that matter to a charter. The winter months bring visitors and whales, autumn brings triathletes, and December bears down on everything at once. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why December costs more
Not the flying. The ultra-long-range fleet that can cross to Hawaii is small, and in the weeks when everyone wants to go it tends to be committed elsewhere. A booking made a fortnight before Christmas can still be done, but it pays more, and the aircraft may be positioned from Europe or the US west coast, which means paying for an extra long leg. The same booking made months earlier is simpler and cheaper, and the hotel and the car are easier to find. Outside the winter peak and the Ironman week, Hawaii is easier to reach at short notice than its reputation suggests.
Ways to bring the Hawaii price down
- Move the dates out of the winter peak. The weeks after the New Year and the stretch before mid-November tend to be calmer for aircraft, hotels and cars alike;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A large-cabin jet already in Europe or on the US west coast takes less positioning than one flown in empty from further away, and on a sector this long positioning is a large share of the bill;
- Take the Global 6000 with one stop unless the cabin or the schedule needs more. From Luton the Global 7500 is £50,200 dearer on the quote above, and that money buys a lot of hotel;
- Quote the round trip as one booking. The aircraft stays for the holiday and the crew rests there, which costs less than two one-way charters.
Types of flights
Hawaii produces a different mix from the European and Gulf destinations we cover, because every trip here is long, and the island geography turns a single holiday into several flights.
- Family holidays and honeymoons, with the party flown to Honolulu or straight to Maui or Kauai and a return booked for a fixed date;
- Sport and event travel: golf in January, the surf contests of late autumn, the Ironman week in October, with kit and bike cases that decide the cabin;
- The Pacific link between the US west coast and the islands, where a large-cabin jet does the crossing in a morning;
- Island hopping between Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island, usually by a US-operated turboprop or light jet;
- Trips to and from Japan and the Pacific with Honolulu as a stop, in a long-range jet;
- Resort and corporate retreats, with helicopter transfers booked alongside.
A flight of this length is not a day trip. A crew that has flown fourteen hours needs rest before flying home, so the aircraft stays with you for the length of the holiday and its waiting time is a real line in the quote. It still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters, and on this route we quote the round trip as one booking and the one-way price next to it so that the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. In Hawaii they come from the pattern of events and of ocean sectors, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Hawaii empty legs come from
– Winter holiday weeks. Aircraft arrive full from the west coast or from Asia and go back empty, and the return leg on the Sunday after a holiday is the one most often offered;
– Event weeks. The Ironman week brings teams in on charters, and in the days after the race some of those aircraft usually leave with empty cabins from Kona and Honolulu;
– Crossing positioning. A jet that has carried a party from Europe to the Pacific coast is often free to head home, and the sector between the US mainland and the islands can be priced very low.
Because the ocean sectors are long, an empty leg saves a large sum in absolute terms, which is why people who can be flexible about dates look at them seriously. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Hawaii match the day an operator releases it.

In Hawaii a helicopter is a tool for the last stretch of a trip. The islands are small and the resort coasts are far from the airports, so a transfer that takes an hour by road can take a quarter of that in the air. The times below are our estimates for the air leg at a steady cruise, set against the road time.
against 45 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes by roadabout 15 minutes
against 30 to 40 minutes by roadabout 10 minutes

Before you plan around a helicopter
– The landing site decides everything. Kapalua bans helicopters, so West Maui transfers cannot use the nearest airport, and at Kona helicopter operations happen on and near Taxiway Alpha and must stay on paved areas. A hotel lawn or a private estate has to have its status confirmed before we quote, not after;
– Weather sets the schedule. Cloud on the mountain sides can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a mountain transfer needs a road alternative in the same plan;
– Where a flight crosses open water between islands we quote a twin-engine machine, and in the busy weeks the helicopter is booked together with the jet, otherwise there may be none available.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for scenic and coastal work, the wider H130 for resort and villa transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Hawaii charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
THE CROSSING · A FAMILY TO MAUI
Eight people, a stop in Seattle and a Maui hotel
London Luton - Honolulu via Seattle, Global 6000, about 14 hours 25 minutes plus a stop · 8 pax
They left Luton at eight, cleared US customs at Seattle on the way and landed in Honolulu in the early afternoon, ten hours out of step. Because everyone aboard had arrived on the same aircraft, the party could go on to Kahului without changing planes, with a permit to proceed arranged by the handler. The hotel on the south coast was 25 minutes from the runway, and the first evening was spent asleep.
IRONMAN WEEK · BIKES SET THE CABIN
A team for the World Championship in Kona
Farnborough - Kona via Seattle, Global 6000, about 14 hours 30 minutes plus a stop · 6 pax
Six athletes and staff, six bike cases and a physio table. The cargo, not the seat count, decided the aircraft. The second leg went from Seattle straight to Kona, which has the 11,000 ft runway, a customs ramp on the south side and three handlers, and the booking went in months ahead, because that week is hard to cover at short notice.
DECEMBER · THE HOTEL SET THE DATE
Three generations on a week they could not move
London Biggin Hill - Honolulu via Seattle, Global 6000 · 10 pax
Rooms for ten people over the Christmas weeks were booked six months out, and the flight followed the hotel, not the other way round. A car and driver was prepaid, because rental cars run short in those weeks, and the return leg was quoted with the outbound as one booking so the aircraft waited in Honolulu through the stay.
PETS · THE PAPERWORK RAN FIRST
A labrador that needed months, not days
London Luton - Honolulu via Seattle, Global 6000 · 4 pax + dog
The microchip, two vaccinations and the antibody test came first, then the 30-day wait, and only then did a flight date appear. The dog entered the United States with its CDC form receipt at the stop, then reached Honolulu with an original health certificate issued within 14 days, and was handed over inside the 8:00 to 16:30 inspection window.
ISLAND HOP · A US OPERATOR
Two friends joining on Oahu
Honolulu - Lihue, Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 4 pax
The party's long-haul jet could not carry the two friends who joined in Honolulu, because for them it would have been a domestic charter. A US-registered turboprop took them to Lihue in about 40 minutes, and the party's own jet flew on with the original passengers.
EMPTY LEG · WEST COAST HOMEWARD
A jet already going your way
Honolulu - Van Nuys, Challenger 350 empty leg, about 5 h 30 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a group out for a holiday week and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid far below a fresh one-way charter for the sector across the Pacific.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Hawaii
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Hawaii?
About 14 hours 25 minutes in the air from Luton in a Global 6000 with one stop in the United States, plus an hour or so on the ground, covering about 6,725 nautical miles in two legs. The straight-line distance is around 6,257 nautical miles. Honolulu is ten hours behind Britain in winter and eleven in summer, so a morning departure lands in the early afternoon of the same day.
2How much does a private jet to Hawaii cost?
From about £184,650 one way from Luton on a Global 6000 with a stop in Seattle, and £177,150 from Glasgow. The same journey from Luton on a Gulfstream G650ER starts at £217,900 and on a Global 7500 at £234,850. The weeks from mid-November to early January and the Ironman week in October price above these figures.
3Can a private jet fly nonstop from London to Honolulu?
On paper, yes, for the largest types: the Gulfstream G650ER has a published range of 7,500 nautical miles and the Global 7500 of 7,700, against about 6,257 nautical miles in a straight line. Headwinds going west, fuel reserves and a full cabin eat into that margin, so we quote a stop in Seattle or San Francisco as the standard plan and a nonstop only when the operator confirms the fuel plan in writing.
4Which airport should a private jet use in Hawaii?
Honolulu (HNL / PHNL) for Oahu and for most long-haul arrivals, with three handlers and customs on the ramp. Kahului (OGG / PHOG) serves Maui, Kona (KOA / PHKO) and Hilo (ITO / PHTO) serve the Big Island, and Lihue (LIH / PHLI) serves Kauai. Kapalua on West Maui bans jets, so those trips use Kahului and a road transfer.
5Can I fly between the islands on the same jet?
Your own party can, if everyone aboard arrived on that aircraft from abroad, with a permit to proceed arranged by the handler. Passengers who join in Hawaii cannot, because a foreign-registered aircraft may not carry them between two US points, and for them we use a US-registered operator with a turboprop or a light jet.
6Can I take my dog to Hawaii on a private jet?
Yes, in the cabin, but the preparation takes months. Hawaii asks for a microchip, two rabies vaccinations, a rabies antibody test passed at least 30 days before arrival and an original health certificate issued within 14 days. A dog entering the United States also needs a CDC Dog Import Form receipt. Coming home, a Great Britain pet health certificate issued within ten days is required.
