Private jet charter to Yemen

Yemen is the hardest country in this part of the world to answer a charter enquiry about, because the map shows one state and the ground holds three. This page sets out what that division means in practice, and which cities we can actually fly you to. Our customers have access to 6500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. For 15 years of successful work, we have established partnerships with the world’s largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you the most favorable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The aircraft we quote for these sectors sit at the London fields and in the North, with Gulf-based partners covering anything that starts east of Europe.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter towards Yemen depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Current status of private jet flights to Yemen

Yemen is one country on the map and three on the ground - the position as of August 2026

– The European safety bulletin over the Sanaa flight information region rates the risk as high at all altitudes and tells operators to stay out, with one exception: the maritime routes in the eastern part of the region, where the assessment is medium and the instruction is caution rather than avoidance. That is the corridor a good deal of Europe to Asia traffic uses, and it explains why aircraft appear on the edge of Yemeni airspace without any of them landing;

– On the ground the country is divided. Sanaa and the north are held by the Houthi movement, the internationally recognised government sits in Aden, and southern separatists control parts of Hadramawt. Sanaa airport has been out of service since airstrikes in December 2024, and a further strike on its runway in July 2026 closed every Yemeni airport for a day. Aden itself was shut by internal politics in January 2026;

– Any flight to, from or across the region also needs 72 hours of prior permission from the Yemeni civil aviation authority, and there is no war-risk cover for a Western business jet landing in the country. Surface-to-air weapons are held by more than one party. This is not a place where a charter can be arranged from Britain, and we would rather say so plainly.

What we do arrange is the flight to the cities from which Yemen is genuinely reached, and there are three of them, each serving a different part of the country. Djibouti is a short hop across the strait from Aden and the base for most humanitarian and diplomatic movement. Jeddah is the hub for the government side and for onward services when they run. Salalah in southern Oman sits closest to Hadramawt and the eastern airports.

Every price on this page is indicative and built the way a real quote is built: a named aircraft on a named sector, two passengers unless stated otherwise. The gateway table below shows current levels, and a personal calculation takes our consultant about 20 minutes through any form here.

How long does it take to fly to Yemen?

London to Aden is 3,201 nautical miles, which a long-range cabin would cover in about seven hours were the sector open to us. It is not, so the times below are to the gateways, and from Djibouti the remaining crossing to Aden is well under an hour in the air.

Worked examples on the gateway sectors. Distances are great-circle; the times allow for the southern routing via Egypt and Saudi Arabia that these flights currently use, which adds roughly half an hour:

1 route London Luton - Jeddah (JED), by private jet Challenger 605

  • Aircraft range: 7,408 km;
  • Flight distance: 2,573 nm / 4,765 km great-circle;
  • Cruising speed: 870 km/h;
  • Flight time: about 6:20 h

2 route Manchester - Jeddah (JED), by private jet Legacy 650

  • Aircraft range: 7,223 km;
  • Flight distance: 2,677 nm / 4,958 km great-circle;
  • Cruising speed: 850 km/h;
  • Flight time: about 6:40 h

3 route London Luton - Djibouti (JIB), by private jet Global 6000

  • Aircraft range: 11,112 km;
  • Flight distance: 3,207 nm / 5,939 km great-circle;
  • Cruising speed: 907 km/h;
  • Flight time: about 7:30 h

4 route London Luton - Salalah (SLL), by private jet Global 6000

  • Aircraft range: 11,112 km;
  • Flight distance: 3,302 nm / 6,116 km great-circle;
  • Cruising speed: 907 km/h;
  • Flight time: about 7:40 h

5 route Edinburgh - Djibouti (JIB), by private jet Gulfstream G650

  • Aircraft range: 12,964 km;
  • Flight distance: 3,428 nm / 6,349 km great-circle;
  • Cruising speed: 950 km/h;
  • Flight time: about 7:35 h

The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

From the gateway onwards

– Djibouti is 134 nautical miles from Aden, the shortest crossing of the three and the one the aid agencies use;

– Jeddah is 471 nautical miles from Sanaa and 629 from Aden, and carries the scheduled services that run when the airports are open;

– Salalah is 307 nautical miles from Riyan at Mukalla, 312 from Seiyun and 265 from Socotra, which makes southern Oman the practical approach to eastern Yemen;

– These onward legs are scheduled or humanitarian flights operated by carriers with their own arrangements and permissions. They are not our charters, and the seventy-two hour permission requirement applies to them rather than to us.

If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database holds over 6500 business jets. On these sectors the choice narrows quickly, because Jeddah, Djibouti and Salalah are all long flights, and the classes below are listed with that in mind:

Turboprops

Not a class for these sectors, all of which pass two and a half thousand nautical miles. They appear on the British end, bringing you to Luton or Manchester from a regional field.

Beechcraft King Air 200 · 8 seatsfrom 1,500 EUR/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom 1,700 EUR/h
Piaggio P180 Avanti II · 8 seatsfrom 2,200 EUR/h

Light jets

Also a feeder class here. Useful for reaching the departure airport, or for a European leg when the gateway flight begins somewhere on the continent rather than in Britain.

Cessna Citation M2 · 7 seatsfrom 2,300 EUR/h
Embraer Phenom 300 · 6 seatsfrom 2,400 EUR/h
Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 8 seatsfrom 2,500 EUR/h

Super-midsize

The smallest cabin that makes sense towards the region, and even to Jeddah it means a fuel stop. Most passengers who start by asking about this class end a tier higher once the stop is explained.

Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom 2,900 EUR/h
Cessna Citation Sovereign · 9 seatsfrom 3,400 EUR/h
Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom 3,900 EUR/h
Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom 4,500 EUR/h

Heavy jets

Where the Jeddah sector begins in earnest: two and a half thousand nautical miles is over six hours in the air, and at that length the beds and the galley earn their place.

Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom 4,900 EUR/h
Embraer Legacy 650 · 13 seatsfrom 4,900 EUR/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom 5,000 EUR/h
Gulfstream G450 · 13 seatsfrom 6,500 EUR/h

Ultra-long range

What Djibouti and Salalah ask for. Both sit beyond a heavy cabin’s comfortable reach with passengers and baggage aboard, and this class flies them non-stop with reserves for a diversion.

Bombardier Global 5000 · 13 seatsfrom 6,900 EUR/h
Gulfstream G550 · 16 seatsfrom 7,000 EUR/h
Bombardier Global 6000 · 13 seatsfrom 7,200 EUR/h
Gulfstream G650 · 14 seatsfrom 8,500 EUR/h

How to rent a business jet with a crew

5 main stages:

  • Sending an application

  • Clarification of details and search for options

  • Preparation and coordination of optimal options

  • Registration of documents. Payment of the invoice.

  • Departure on the route.

Business aviation airports in Yemen

The lists below are kept for reference. A few of these fields handle scheduled or humanitarian traffic when the situation allows; none is available for a charter we would arrange, for the reasons set out at the top of this page. Taiz and Hodeidah are closed by notice to airmen. The country’s two largest airports are:

  • Aden International Airport, ICAO - OYAA, IATA - ADE, working intermittently;
  • Sana'a International Airport, ICAO - OYSN, IATA - SAH, out of service since December 2024.

The traffic that does move concentrates on Aden in the south, Seiyun and Riyan in Hadramawt, and Socotra. For the current position on any specific field, ask our consultants.

business aviation

The wider network of Yemeni airfields, again for reference rather than for booking, runs to the following:

  1. Ta'izz International Airport (TAI), Taiz, Yemen, closed
  2. Hodeidah Airport (HOD), Hodeidah, Yemen, closed
  3. Socotra Airport (SCT), Socotra, Yemen
  4. Seiyun Airport (GXF), Seiyun, Yemen
  5. Ataq Airport (AXK), Ataq, Yemen
  6. Al Ghaydah Airport (AAY), Al Ghaydah, Yemen
  7. Riyan Airport (RIY), Mukalla, Yemen

At the gateway airports you are handled through the business aviation terminal, where there are no queues and arriving thirty minutes before departure is enough. Jeddah, Djibouti and Salalah each have one, and our consultants can tell you which handler meets you at which.

Types of flights

Our company provides all types of business flights. Due to a wide variety of jets, we can arrange:

  1. private flights;
  2. corporate flights;
  3. business class flights;
  4. concert tours;
  5. medical flights (with doctors and special equipment on board);
  6. tourist flights for large and small groups;
  7. sports charters for teams and coaching staff;
  8. combined flights (partly by business jet, and partly by helicopter);
  9. exclusive flights on luxury jets for businessmen, celebrities, and politicians;
  10. cargo flights, etc.

A flexible approach and a wide experience allow us to solve problems of any complexity. In 90% of cases, we manage to arrange urgent flights (on the day of application). But to be sure, we recommend you send a request at least 2-5 days before the desired date of departure.

Empty Legs

Another way to fly cheaper is to use Empty Legs. This service allows you to save on regular charter rates. As you know, part of the flights is one-way (for example, when the passenger flies from England to Jeddah). After the flight, the jet returns to its home base (for example, to London Farnborough airport) empty. Such flight is called “Empty Legs”. Empty leg flights can be as cheap as 50-75% off the standard charter price. This option is profitable for both the passengers and the charter companies. The clients can enjoy the services of business aviation at a very good price, while the airlines recoup part of the cost of fuel and jet maintenance.

It is almost impossible to find Empty Leg flights, as the information about them is stored in special databases available only to the aviation brokers and specialized companies. You should know that Empty Leg flights offer the same service as private jet charters. The passengers enjoy a 100% private jet flying experience. Services and flight conditions are discussed individually. We should note that our company cooperates with the world’s largest home bases, so we can offer our clients a wide choice of return flights. Just send a request to our manager who will help you find the best flight options. Please note that Empty Leg flights are sold out very quickly. To avoid such a problem, you can leave us a deposit, and we will contact you as soon as the flight of your choice becomes available. For additional information, check with the operators.

Jet Sharing

Today, Jet Sharing is just as popular as private jet charter. This service involves the joint rental of a business jet with other passengers (that is, the cost of the flight is divided equally between all passengers of a specific flight). This type of flight has become especially popular in the last few years. Many people like Jet Sharing because it allows you to enjoy all benefits of business aviation at favorable prices.

We should note that the number of passengers per Jet Sharing flight varies from 3 to 8, while the cost of the flight ranges from 1400 to 7100 euros (depending on the destination). This way, you can get a comfortable flight on a business jet (and maybe even meet new business partners) at a very good price. You can check out the schedule of Jet Sharing flights by filling in the online form or contacting our operators by phone or WhatsApp.

Main advantages of this service:

  • All privileges of business aviation, including the use of the business aviation terminal and the check-in 30 minutes before the flight, are retained;
  • You can also use the services of the VIP Lounge (included in the price of the flight);
  • No baggage restrictions;
  • Affordable price: jet sharing is much cheaper than private jet charter;
  • Pets can be carried directly in the aircraft cabin.

Our consultants will be happy to help you choose the best flight.

Helicopter charter

Helicopters on this itinerary work the two ends: the British departure field, and the transfers around the gateway cities while an onward flight is arranged. These are the legs we book most:

London home counties to Luton or Farnborough
the pick-up that starts a long eastbound day without the M25
15 to 25 minutes
Djibouti city to the port and the camps
the humanitarian and diplomatic quarter, where the road is slow and hot
about 10 minutes
Jeddah to the Red Sea coast north of the city
the industrial and resort strip, a long drive by road
20 to 35 minutes
Salalah to the Dhofar interior
the mountains behind the coast, where the road climbs slowly
about 25 minutes
Salalah to the Omani coast towards Mirbat
the fishing towns east of the city, a slow drive on a coast road
about 40 minutes

The machines that work these routes

– Airbus H125 and Bell 407, the light singles behind most private transfers in the London area and precise into a confined site;

– Airbus H130 and Bell 429 for a family or a party of six, the usual choice on the Gulf and Omani legs;

– Airbus H145 and AgustaWestland AW139 where twin engines are wanted over water or for a larger group, which on the Red Sea coastal runs is what most clients ask for.

Two points on rotary legs here

– None of these legs cross into Yemen. The strait between Djibouti and Aden is only a hundred and thirty nautical miles across and well within helicopter range, which makes it worth stating plainly: the guidance covers all altitudes, and a rotary crossing is no more available than a jet one;

– Heat on the Red Sea and Omani coasts cuts what a helicopter can lift through the middle of the day, so morning and evening slots are the ones worth asking for between May and September.

Private jet flights to Yemen - frequently asked questions

1Can I charter a private jet to Yemen right now?

No. The European safety bulletin rates the Sanaa flight information region as high risk at all altitudes and tells operators to stay out, surface-to-air weapons are held by several parties, and no war-risk cover exists for a Western business jet landing in the country. Any movement in the region also needs seventy-two hours of prior permission from the Yemeni authority. We fly instead to Djibouti, Jeddah and Salalah.

2Why do aircraft still appear over Yemen on tracking sites?

Because the bulletin carves out the maritime routes in the eastern part of the region, where the risk is rated medium and operators are told to exercise caution rather than to avoid. A good deal of Europe to Asia traffic uses that corridor. Being allowed to cross a corner of the airspace at altitude is not the same as being allowed to land.

3How much does a flight towards Yemen cost?

From about 48,900 EUR one way from London to Jeddah on a heavy jet, from about 64,800 EUR to Djibouti and 66,300 EUR to Salalah on long-range cabins. The onward leg into Yemen is a scheduled or humanitarian flight arranged separately.

4Which gateway is closest?

Djibouti, at 134 nautical miles from Aden across the strait, and it is where most aid and diplomatic movement is based. Jeddah sits 471 nautical miles from Sanaa and serves the government side. Salalah in southern Oman is 307 nautical miles from Riyan at Mukalla and suits eastern Yemen.

5Is Aden open?

Intermittently. Aden is the seat of the internationally recognised government and its airport has operated through much of the conflict, but it was closed by internal political tension in January 2026 and every Yemeni airport shut for a day after the strike on the Sanaa runway in July 2026. Reliability rather than existence is the problem, and it is one reason we do not sell a charter into it.
