Private jet charter in Larnaca

From a London airfield to the Cyprus coast is a little over four and a half hours in the air, and that single figure shapes a Larnaca charter more than anything else: the aircraft is chosen for range, and the passport desk at the far end is a real one. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around those two facts. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. On the ground Larnaca is easy. One runway of about 3,000 m, an executive terminal of its own and a resort coast within an hour of the apron. What needs thought is the cabin, the season, and, for a surprising number of clients, which side of the island they actually need to end up on.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Larnaca depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Praetor 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Larnaca?

Four and a half hours from Biggin Hill, a little under five from the Midlands and the north, and just over five from Glasgow. The distance runs from 1,820 to 2,080 nautical miles depending on the British field, which is further than most light jets fly with comfortable reserves. Cyprus keeps time two hours ahead of Britain, so a morning departure lands in the afternoon on the clock at the other end. The table shows the sector from each field we use, flown in an aircraft that makes it nonstop.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Leave a London airfield at eight in the morning and you are on the ground at Larnaca in the middle of the afternoon, local time: about 4 hours 35 minutes of flying, plus the two hours the clocks have moved on. The airport is only about 4 to 5 km from the centre of Larnaca, a drive of 10 to 15 minutes, and the executive terminal is separate from the main passenger building, so you do not cross the main hall. Add the drive to the British airfield and the ride to the hotel and the journey from central London to the Cyprus coast comes to about seven hours. That is long enough that a same-day return makes little sense, and most clients build in at least one night.

Which cabin for a four-and-a-half-hour sector

– A super-midsize cabin such as the Embraer Praetor 600 or the Bombardier Challenger 350 is the practical floor for a nonstop run from Britain. Light jets typically need a fuel stop in southern Europe, which adds the best part of an hour, a second set of landing and handling fees and a longer day. On paper the hourly rate is lower, and on the day the trip is not always cheaper;

– Past eight passengers, or with golf bags, children's equipment and a fortnight of luggage, we quote a large cabin such as the Challenger 605 or the Falcon 2000LXS next to it, because the hold and the seat pitch count for more after four hours than after two;

– Long-range heavies such as the Gulfstream G450 or the Global 6000 make sense when Cyprus is one stop on a longer itinerary, towards the Gulf or Asia, and the same aircraft stays with you. They are not needed for the run from Britain itself.

Prices for the private jet flights to Larnaca

Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all flown nonstop in a super-midsize jet into Larnaca. July and August, the Easter weeks and the autumn festival weekends sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Glasgow - Larnaca
2,080 nm

The spread between the south of England and Scotland is narrower than the map suggests, because on a sector this long the flying itself dominates the bill and the positioning leg is a smaller share. A Praetor 600 out of Biggin Hill is £29,900; the same aircraft out of Glasgow is £33,800, a gap of £3,900 for roughly half an hour of extra airtime each way. If you are choosing between a departure from Luton and one from Manchester, the cabin and the date will move the quote more than the airfield does (£30,300 against £31,800). Drop to a smaller jet and the figure per hour falls, but a fuel stop puts back some of what you save.

Private jet flights from Larnaca

Larnaca is a useful base for the eastern Mediterranean. Israel is about an hour away, Rhodes a little over an hour, Athens under two hours, and the other end of Cyprus is a short turboprop hop. For Britain and western Europe the return is the long sector again. Typical one-way prices:

Paphos, Limassol and the north: one island, three different answers

Cyprus is small, but the airports are not interchangeable. Paphos has its own airport on the western side, about 130 to 135 km from Larnaca by road, which is an hour and a half to two hours in a car; a turboprop covers it in well under an hour and costs £3,100 at the minimum charge, so it is a convenience for a party that has landed in the wrong place, not a plan. Limassol has no commercial airport of its own and is served from Larnaca and Paphos, a drive of roughly 50 to 70 minutes from Larnaca. The north of the island is another matter altogether: Ercan lies in the area outside the Republic's control, and the Foreign Office describes entering the Republic through the north, Ercan Airport included, as illegal entry. Land in the south.

Before you accept an onward quote from Cyprus

– Which airport, and who handles it. Larnaca and Paphos both take private jets, but the handlers differ, and a driver given only the airport name can wait at the wrong door. RAF Akrotiri is a military base and is not generally open to private charters, however close it looks to Limassol;

– Which direction of travel. A flight on from Cyprus to a country with its own entry rules, Israel for example, has its own paperwork and its own passport timetable. We ask for the whole itinerary before pricing any single leg;

– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Larnaca to Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv to Rhodes and Rhodes to Larnaca over a long weekend costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay put instead of repositioning between each stop.

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Larnaca:

Super-midsize, the working choice from Britain

On a four-and-a-half-hour sector these are the aircraft that fly it nonstop without paying for more cabin than the party needs.

Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h
Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h

Large cabins, for families and long stays

For ten or more passengers, for villa parties with serious luggage and for trips that go on beyond Cyprus without changing aircraft.

Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,350/h
Embraer Legacy 650 · 13 seatsfrom £4,600/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h

Long-range heavies

Bombardier Global 6000 · 13 seatsfrom £6,400/h
Gulfstream G550 · 16 seatsfrom £6,700/h
Gulfstream G650ER · 14 seatsfrom £7,700/h

Light jets and turboprops, for the legs from Larnaca

Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h

This is a small part of what is available. There is often an aircraft within reach of Larnaca that is positioned from Greece, Italy or Israel, and the better price often comes from one that is already going your way. Outside July, August and the holiday weeks there is usually something suitable within a day's flying of Larnaca, and that flexibility is worth more than the choice of model.

Business aviation airports in Larnaca

Two airports do the work, and the others are here to be ruled out. It helps to know which is which before a quote arrives with the wrong one in it.

Airport What it gives you
Larnaca International
LCA / LCLK
The answer for almost every trip. About 4 km south-west of the town, open round the clock, with a single asphalt runway 04/22 of about 3,000 m that takes anything we send. Business aviation has an executive terminal of its own, run by Skylink Services on the old terminal site, with a separate VIP apron and a lounge used for heads of state. Several other handlers work the airport too, among them Universal Aviation, Abelair and Swissport Executive, and the airport is a listed point of entry
Paphos International
PFO / LCPH
The western alternative, about 6.5 km south-east of Paphos, with one asphalt runway of about 2,700 m that takes most private jets. Four handlers are listed there: Sky Valet, MY OPS, Skylink Services and Swissport Executive. A conversion of the old terminal into a private VIP lounge has been planned, so we confirm what is actually open on your date. Worth using when the trip is to the Paphos coast or Akamas, and a long way from Larnaca if it is not
Limassol and Nicosia
no airport
Neither has a commercial airport that private jets can use. Limassol is served from Larnaca and Paphos, roughly 50 to 70 minutes by road from Larnaca. Nicosia is about 50 to 55 km from Larnaca, a drive of 40 to 50 minutes, and the Larnaca executive terminal is the practical landing point for the capital
Ercan, in the north
ECN
Not an option for a flight from Britain. Landings are generally limited to flights from Turkey, and the Foreign Office treats entering the Republic of Cyprus through the north as illegal entry, with fines or refusal of entry as possible consequences. Any quote that names it should be questioned
RAF Akrotiri
AKT
A British military base near Limassol. Not widely available for private charters, and not a substitute for Larnaca or Paphos however convenient it looks on the map

Four points settle most Larnaca arrivals:

Choose the terminal and the handler

Larnaca has a dedicated executive terminal run by Skylink Services, about 1,600 square metres and described as open round the clock. Other handlers work the same airport, so the quote should name one. Give us the handler as well as the flight, because a car sent to the main terminal is in the wrong place.

Hours and slots

The airport is listed as open 24 hours. Airport data typically show slots as required and ground handling as compulsory, which a handler arranges before the aircraft leaves Britain. In July, August and the holiday weeks demand is highest, so we ask for the slot in writing and plan the return at the same time.

Border and passport

Cyprus is in the EU but outside Schengen, so you show a passport on the way in and again on the way out, and the same again when you land back in Britain. British holders need no visa for up to 90 days, with a passport under ten years old and valid at least three months beyond departure. Cyprus is not covered by the EU Entry/Exit System.

Car and the road

The town is a 10 to 15 minute drive, Ayia Napa about 40 to 50 minutes, Nicosia 40 to 50 minutes and Limassol 50 to 70 minutes. Paphos is a long 90 minutes to two hours by road. Drivers wait at the executive terminal, not at the main arrivals hall, so we pass on the handler's name and the car's number to the dispatcher.

business aviation

Border, passport and the first hour

Cyprus is an EU member that has not joined Schengen, and for a passenger from Britain the practical effect is simple: there is a passport check in both directions, and there is customs on the way through. Before you leave Britain, the passport needs less than ten years since issue and at least three months of validity beyond the planned departure from Cyprus. Officers may ask for a return or onward ticket and for proof of funds, which for a private flight means the booking confirmation. On the way home a General Aviation Report goes to the UK authorities, which the handler or the operator files in the window the rules set, and a British passenger needs no electronic travel authorisation. If a passenger holds another nationality, tell us at the quote stage: a visa or an ETA for Britain may be needed, and the right moment to find out is not on the apron.

Larnaca serves the east and the middle of the island and is the nearest airport to Ayia Napa. The journeys that need planning are the ones to the far ends: Paphos in the west, the Troodos in the hills and anything in the north.

Flying to Larnaca with a dog or a cat

Cyprus is in the EU, so an animal arriving from Britain is treated as coming from a third country, and the paperwork has to be dated correctly. The animal sits beside you in the cabin, with no hold involved, and the flight is the easy part. What takes time is the checklist, and the one item that cannot be rushed is the sequence of microchip, vaccination and waiting period.

private flight with animals

What Cyprus typically asks for when a dog or cat arrives from Britain:

  • An ISO microchip, fitted before or at the same time as the rabies vaccination and never after it;
  • A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before entry;
  • An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued no more than ten days before the animal enters the EU, because a British pet passport is not valid for entry;
  • No more than five animals per traveller, entering through a travellers' point of entry where a veterinary or customs officer can inspect them. At Larnaca the handler usually arranges this at the executive terminal;
  • Advance notice to the district veterinary officer, typically 48 hours before arrival, with the date, time and aircraft registration;
  • No dogs of the listed fighting breeds, which typically include the American pit bull terrier, the Japanese tosa, the dogo argentino and the fila brasileiro.

What catches owners out on the Larnaca run

– Cyprus asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in, but Britain asks for one on the way home. A dog needs a treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing in Britain, recorded with product, date and time, so the vet appointment is booked in Cyprus towards the end of the stay. Cats are exempt;

– The certificate belongs to one trip. It cannot be reused, and an animal whose rabies vaccination lapses during the stay may lose the right to come home on the same paperwork. The return to Britain needs its own pet travel paperwork, which we check at the quote stage;

– On a private flight there is no printed rule on the approved route for animals. We confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight, and we do it before the quote is accepted.

Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Larnaca calendar: a beach island with a long season

Cyprus does not have the sharp event peaks of an opera city. It has a long warm season, a handful of festivals scattered through it and a winter that is quiet by the sea and snowy in the hills. Knowing the week matters, but the season matters more, and it decides how hard the aircraft are to find.

December to February
Low season by the sea: the quietest months, with lower prices and the most rain, mostly in the mountains and on the western coast. Snow typically falls on the Troodos in January and February, when skiing is possible, and a few clients combine a coast stay with a day in the hills
February or March
Limassol Carnival, held in the two weeks before Greek Orthodox Lent, with the biggest celebrations in Limassol. Dates move with the Orthodox Easter calendar, so check the year before fixing the flight
April to early June
Spring and the shoulder season: temperatures climb from the mid-teens to the mid-twenties Celsius, beaches are uncrowded and the sea is still cool. Orthodox Easter follows its own calendar, so check its date before fixing a spring flight
May
The Anthestiria flower festival, held in Larnaca and Paphos, is a small cultural event rather than a corporate one and draws moderate traffic
Late May or June
Kataklysmos, the Festival of the Flood, is Larnaca's oldest and largest celebration. It runs for six days at Pentecost along the Finikoudes seafront, with stalls, stage shows, water sports and a tradition of throwing water at friends. It is on the UNESCO list and free to attend, and the town fills
July and August
Peak season: the busiest months, with the heaviest crowds in Ayia Napa and Limassol and daytime highs of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius. Aircraft are hardest to find in this window, so book well ahead
September to October
The second shoulder season, often the best balance: warm sea, thinner crowds. The Limassol Wine Festival typically opens in early September, the Paphos Aphrodite Opera Festival also falls in September, and the Cyprus Rally has traditionally run around Limassol and the Troodos in the autumn

Why summer costs more

Not the flying. Cyprus is a destination the whole of Britain wants at once, and what gets tight is the number of aircraft that can leave a given British airfield on the day you want them, the handler staff, the cars and the catering. A booking made a fortnight before a July weekend can still be done, but it pays more and may mean an aircraft positioned from Italy or Greece. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside July, August and the holiday weeks, a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.

Ways to bring the Larnaca price down

  • Move the dates a few days, away from the school holidays and the festival weekends. The weeks between the peaks are quiet, and the aircraft are easier to find;
  • Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Cyprus, Greece or Israel takes less positioning than one coming out from Britain, and on a sector this long that can change the quote noticeably;
  • Choose the cabin for the sector. A super-midsize jet flies the route nonstop, while a smaller jet adds a fuel stop, so the cheaper hourly rate is not always the cheaper trip;
  • Book the return at the same time. A round trip with the aircraft staying in Cyprus for a week is priced differently from two one-way flights, and the difference is worth asking about.

Types of flights

Larnaca produces a mix that is closer to a holiday island than a financial centre, with a business side that is easy to underestimate.

  • Villa and resort holidays on the eastern coast, at Ayia Napa and Protaras, where the party is a family with children and a lot of luggage;
  • Business and professional travel, mostly to Limassol and Nicosia, with fixed dates and a car waiting at the aircraft door;
  • Diving and water-sports trips, since Larnaca is known for its diving and its sandy beaches;
  • Winter days in the Troodos for skiing, combined with a coast stay;
  • Hops to Israel, Rhodes and Athens, used for business and for yacht and villa holidays;
  • Positioning and ferry flights, where a client travels on a leg that the aircraft was making anyway.

A same-day return from London is not a practical plan on this route. The aircraft and crew would spend most of the day in the air, and the working window on the ground would be short. A better pattern is to leave in the morning, spend a night or two on the island and fly back on a quiet afternoon. For a party that stays a week, the sensible comparison is between two one-way charters and a round trip with the aircraft kept in Cyprus, and we price both so the difference is visible.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Larnaca route they come from the rhythm of the holiday season, and it helps to know what produces them.

Where Larnaca empty legs come from

– Changeover weekends. When families fly out to Cyprus on charters, the aircraft often leave empty a day or two later, which produces outbound legs towards Britain and Europe in the days after;

– Events and festival weekends. A cluster of arrivals for Kataklysmos or the autumn festivals is followed by a cluster of empty departures once the weekend ends;

– Mediterranean rotation. Aircraft based in Greece, Italy or Israel that fly a party to Cyprus often return empty, and the shorter regional legs between those countries can be cheap.

Because the long sector between Britain and Cyprus is flown less often than a European city pair, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Larnaca match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter

In Cyprus a helicopter is a tool for the edges of the trip and not for the airport run. The island is small, the roads are good and the airport is 10 to 15 minutes from the town, but a villa without a runway, a hilltop in the Troodos or a stretch of coast reached more quickly from the air are exactly where rotary flight changes the day.

Before you plan around a helicopter

– Operators and landing sites are agreed before the quote. A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes: each pick-up and set-down point needs the approval of the operator and the Cypriot aviation authorities, so a hotel lawn or private villa has its status confirmed in advance. We do not quote a transfer until the sites are settled;

– Heat and wind set the schedule. A midday flight in July is hotter and often less smooth than an early one, and the mountain flights are best in the morning. A road alternative is planned into the same day;

– Book the helicopter together with the jet. Helicopter capacity on the island is limited in the peak weeks, and a late request may simply have no machine available.

The machines used for this kind of work are the Airbus H125, the wider H130 for villa and scenic transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Larnaca charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

VILLA WEEK · THE EAST COAST

Six people, a car at the aircraft door and a villa near Ayia Napa

Biggin Hill - Larnaca, Praetor 600, about 4 h 35 min · 6 pax

A summer week, booked for the Saturday changeover. The aircraft landed mid-afternoon on local time and the car was waiting at the executive terminal, so the party was on the road to the coast within minutes and at the villa in about 45. The return was booked with the outbound, which is what kept the price level through a busy weekend.

FAMILY GROUP · THE LUGGAGE BOOKED THE CABIN

Ten people, children and a lot of suitcases

London Luton - Larnaca, Challenger 605, about 4 h 35 min · 10 pax

Prams, snorkelling kit and two weeks of clothes took the hold well beyond what a midsize jet carries comfortably, and the quote moved up a class for that reason and not for the seats. The party stayed a fortnight and the aircraft was released, which cost less than keeping it on the island.

BUSINESS · LIMASSOL AND BACK

A short team visit to the south coast

Farnborough - Larnaca, Praetor 600, about 4 h 35 min · 4 pax

Fixed dates, laptops and a request for a car that could go from the aircraft door to a Limassol meeting room in about an hour. The handler pre-arranged the passport check at the terminal, and the aircraft left for Britain the next afternoon with nothing to explain.

A DOG ON BOARD · THE VET IN CYPRUS

Two adults and a retriever on a ten-day stay

Southampton - Larnaca, Praetor 600, about 4 h 40 min · 2 pax + dog

The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home, so the vet appointment in Cyprus was booked towards the end of the stay. We settled both with the aircraft and the hotel in a single exchange of messages.

ONWARD LEG · THE ISRAEL HOP

A weekend meeting in Tel Aviv from the island

Larnaca - Tel Aviv, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 00 min · 4 pax

The party had spent the week on the Cyprus coast and flew to Tel Aviv for two days of meetings before returning. A light jet does that distance without strain, and keeping the larger jet on the island between the legs would have cost far more than hiring the light one for the hop.

EMPTY LEG · A JET ALREADY GOING YOUR WAY

Larnaca back to Britain at the end of August

Larnaca - London Luton, super-midsize empty leg, about 4 h 35 min · 4 pax

The aircraft had brought a family out to the island and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a late-afternoon departure to the London fields.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Larnaca

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Larnaca?

About 4 hours 35 minutes from Biggin Hill (1,820 nautical miles) and 4 hours 35 minutes from Luton or Farnborough in a Praetor 600. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about 4 hours 45 minutes to 4 hours 50 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 5 hours 5 minutes. Cyprus is two hours ahead of Britain, so an eight o'clock departure lands in the afternoon local time.

2How much does a private jet to Larnaca cost?

From about £29,900 one way in a super-midsize jet out of Biggin Hill. Luton and Farnborough come to £30,300, Birmingham to £31,250, Manchester to £31,800 and Glasgow to £33,800. July, August and the holiday weeks price above these figures.

3Which airport should a private jet use for Cyprus?

Larnaca (LCA / LCLK), about 4 km from the town and open round the clock, with a dedicated executive terminal run by Skylink Services and a runway of about 3,000 m. Paphos (PFO / LCPH) is the alternative for the western coast, about 130 to 135 km away by road. Ercan, in the north, is not an option for a flight from Britain.

4Do I need a visa or a passport check to fly to Cyprus?

British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days. Cyprus is in the EU but outside Schengen, so there is a passport check in both directions. The passport must be less than ten years old and valid for at least three months beyond departure from Cyprus. Cyprus is not covered by the EU Entry/Exit System.

5Can I take my dog to Cyprus on a private jet?

Yes, and the dog travels in the cabin. Cyprus typically asks for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old, an Animal Health Certificate issued within ten days of arrival and advance notice to the district vet. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing. Cats are exempt from the treatment.

6Can I fly directly to northern Cyprus on a private jet?

Not from Britain. Landings at Ercan are generally limited to flights from Turkey, and the Foreign Office describes entering the Republic of Cyprus through the north, including through Ercan Airport, as illegal entry, with possible fines or refusal of entry. Land at Larnaca or Paphos and cross at an official crossing point.
