Private jet charter in Maldives

From a London airfield to the Maldives is one long night in a large-cabin jet, a little over ten hours in a Global 6000, and what decides the trip starts when the wheels touch at Malé. Private Jets UK books the permit, the handler, the seaplane or the speedboat and the aircraft as one itinerary. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The Maldives has one airport that matters to a business jet and hundreds of islands without a runway. A private jet lands at Velana on Hulhulé island, and every resort is reached from there by seaplane, speedboat or a domestic flight, so the questions to settle early are the landing permit, a parking slot at Malé and the hour of arrival against the seaplane's daylight window.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter to the Maldives depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Praetor 600 with a stop in Dubai and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to the Maldives?

About 10 h 05 min from Biggin Hill in a Global 6000, and about ten and a half hours from Glasgow. The distance from London is roughly 4,800 nautical miles, which is about four fifths of what a Global 6000 can fly (around 6,000 nm of range), so a nonstop flight is realistic with a normal cabin load. Smaller aircraft split the journey, and the natural place is the Gulf. London to Dubai is about 3,070 nm and Dubai to Malé a further 1,707, which sits almost on the direct line, so the stop costs ground time but hardly any extra distance. The line from London to the Maldives runs south-east over the Balkans, Turkey and the Middle East and out across the Arabian Sea. The countries actually overflown are chosen by the operator's flight planners, with a permit obtained for each.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Malé runs four or five hours ahead of Britain, depending on the season, and the arithmetic matters more here than on most routes. Take off from Biggin Hill at nine in the evening and the Global 6000 lands at Velana late in the morning or around noon the next day, local time, which leaves the afternoon for the seaplane. Take off at nine in the morning and you arrive close to midnight, when no seaplane flies and the choice is a night near the airport or a speedboat in the dark. The airport sits on Hulhulé island beside the capital, so there is no drive to speak of. Count the road to the British airfield, the flight and the transfer to the island and the whole journey is a day, give or take the hour of the day you leave.

Nonstop or a stop, and who flies it

– The range. A Global 6000 is rated at about 6,000 nm, a Gulfstream G550 at 6,750, a G650ER at 7,500 and a Global 7500 at 7,700. The 4,800 nm from London leaves a Global 6000 a margin of roughly 1,200 nm for reserves and weather. The way home is the flight that meets the stronger headwind, and the planner may ask for a stop on the return even when the outbound is nonstop;

– The stop. An Embraer Praetor 600 is rated at 4,018 nm and a Challenger 350 at 3,250 nm, both for four passengers with reserves. The Praetor covers each leg through Dubai with room to spare, and it is the aircraft behind the lowest price on this page. The first leg of about 3,070 nm leaves a Challenger 350 too little margin, so we do not quote it, and anything smaller needs two stops;

– The crew. Ten hours is a long duty day and the quote should say how the pilots rest, either on a second crew or after a night in Malé. Parking at Velana is limited, and aircraft are often repositioned after the drop-off, so ask where yours will wait and what that costs.

The figures are one-way and cover the aircraft, crew, fuel and the positioning flight home, which on this route is a large part of the bill, because a jet that drops its passengers at Velana rarely has a reason or a place to stay. Landing, parking and handling charges, the permit, catering and the fees at the Dubai stop are quoted on top once the dates are fixed. A Praetor 600 with nine seats starts at £74,500 from Biggin Hill and £76,150 from Manchester. A Global 6000 with thirteen seats flying nonstop is £129,200 from Biggin Hill or London City and £132,000 from Manchester, and the price difference buys a bigger cabin, more luggage space and an hour and a half back on the clock.

Between the islands, a jet is the wrong tool

Business jets are directed to only three Maldivian airports because of runway length: Velana, Villa International at Maamigili and Gan in the far south. Most of the domestic airfields have runways of roughly 1,100 to 1,200 m and are built for turboprops. For the last stretch to a resort the working answers are a seaplane, a speedboat or a domestic flight on the national carrier, and we book the one that suits the island and the hour of landing. A visit to the south of the country on your own aircraft is possible through Gan, which lies about 306 nm south of Malé, but the handling there needs its own arrangement.

Before you accept an onward quote

– Who operates it. A seaplane or domestic seat may be sold by the resort, by the airline or by a charter operator, and the three prices are not the same. Ask who flies it and what the baggage allowance is, which on the seaplanes we checked is 20 kg checked and 5 kg hand luggage per person;

– Whether it is one trip. A holiday that adds Colombo or Mumbai is cheaper arranged as a single itinerary, with the long-haul aircraft planned around the extra sector, than as separate bookings. Say so at the start, because every landing needs a permit and the lead time is days, not hours.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for the Maldives:

Long-range jets, the nonstop class

London to Malé sits inside their range with a margin. Choose by cabin: the Global 6000 for up to a dozen guests, the Gulfstream G550 when the party is larger or the luggage heavier.

Bombardier Global 6000 · 13 seatsfrom £6,400/h
Gulfstream G550 · 16 seatsfrom £6,700/h

Ultra-long-range, for the return headwind

They fly the route with the largest reserve, which counts on the way back against the wind. The hourly rate is higher and the cabin is generous.

Gulfstream G650ER · 14 seatsfrom £7,700/h
Bombardier Global 7500 · 14 seatsfrom £8,300/h

Super-midsize, with a stop in the Gulf

The Praetor 600 flies London to Dubai and on to Malé in two legs and gives the lowest price on this page. Nine seats, a long day and an hour on the ground at the stop.

Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h

Regional jets, for the sectors out of Malé

The right size for Colombo, Mumbai, Doha, Dubai and South-East Asia once you are in the region. They do not fly from Britain.

Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h

Seaplanes and helicopters

The seaplane is the standard way to a resort and flies only in daylight. A private charter of a whole seaplane is possible, and a helicopter is arranged on request where a landing site exists.

De Havilland Twin Otter seaplane · about 15 seatson request

online private jet directory

This is a small part of what is available. A long-range jet is rarely waiting at Malé, so a Maldives charter normally starts with an aircraft positioned from Europe or the Gulf, and the price is built from the London leg rather than from a local base. A jet that is already returning empty from a drop-off in Dubai or Doha, or heading to Britain after a job in the region, is the opening for a better price, and we look for it on every enquiry.

Business aviation airports in the Maldives

One airport does the work, and it is the only one a long-range jet can use with a full load. The others are for special cases, and a quote that names one of them should say why.

Airport What it gives you
Velana International, Malé
MLE / VRMM
The gateway for the whole country and the only sensible answer for a long-range jet. It stands on Hulhulé island, next to the capital, with one asphalt runway of 3,400 m. The airport, the control tower, customs and immigration work round the clock. The seaplane terminal is part of the same airport, so for many resorts the last leg starts from the airport itself. Handlers named by the sources we checked include Flight Support Maldives, MVK Maldives and Universal Aviation, and we found no dedicated general aviation terminal described. A CIP lounge offers private jet passengers a waiting area and quicker immigration. Parking is limited, and many aircraft leave after the drop-off
Villa International, Maamigili
VAM / VRMV
In Alif Dhaal Atoll, about 62 nm from Malé. The runway is about 1,800 m (5,905 ft), shorter than Velana but one of the three on which international private jets are allowed. It suits a light or midsize jet with a modest load, not a fully loaded long-range aircraft, and we found no business-aviation handler listed, so a visit needs a handler appointed for the day
Gan International, Addu City
GAN / VRMG
The far south, about 306 nm from Malé, on a former RAF airfield. The concrete runway is more than 3,000 m long (the sources give 3,400 to 3,600 m) and takes large aircraft. The only foreign scheduled service we found is to Colombo, and no business-aviation handler or customs routine for private jets was described, so we plan Gan as a destination or an alternate, never as a casual stop
Hanimaadhoo and the domestic airfields
HAQ / VRMH, DRV, GKK and others
Hanimaadhoo in the north is listed as international, but business jets are directed to Velana, Villa and Gan. The other domestic airfields, such as Dharavandhoo and Kooddoo, have runways of roughly 1,100 to 1,200 m (3,600 to 4,000 ft) and serve turboprops on the national carrier
Dubai, the usual technical stop
DXB / OMDB, DWC / OMDW
Where we plan the fuel stop for a super-midsize jet on the way out and the way back, about 1,700 nm from Malé. Two airports are available, and which one we use depends on the handler, the slot and the aircraft. The stop adds about an hour on the ground, which the flying times in the tables above already include

Four points settle most Maldives arrivals:

Parking and the handler

Both a landing permit and an airport parking slot are mandatory for the flight. Parking at Velana is limited, and many aircraft are repositioned after the drop-off, so we ask the handler early where the jet will wait. Several companies are listed there, and the service and fees differ, so we give the resort the name of the handler along with the flight.

Hours and permits

The airport, tower, customs and immigration run all day and night, but the Civil Aviation Authority office works only from about 09:00 to 17:00 Maldives time, and a landing permit is valid for 24 hours. The regulations ask for permission at least 72 hours before a non-scheduled flight, and we apply earlier than that.

Entry for passengers

A British passport gets a 30-day tourist visa on arrival. The passport needs at least one month of validity after arrival, and every traveller completes the IMUGA traveller declaration online within the 96 hours before the flight lands. The crew are issued visas on arrival through the general declaration.

The last leg to the resort

Seaplanes fly in daylight only, roughly 06:00 to 16:00, and arrival transfers are normally built for landings before about 15:00. Speedboats can run after dark, which suits resorts within an hour of Malé. A later landing means a night near the airport and the seaplane next morning.

business aviation

Border, passport and permits

The Maldives asks for the paperwork first and the aircraft second. The operator needs permission from the Civil Aviation Authority for a non-scheduled landing, a parking slot at the airport and the crew details, and the rule on the books is 72 hours; a request that reaches the office outside its working hours waits for the next working day. Customs rules are strict. Importing alcohol and pork is illegal, as is anything deemed contrary to Islam, and alcohol bought on the flight can be confiscated on arrival, so whatever the aircraft carries in its galley is a conversation with the handler before catering is ordered, not at the steps. Britain is outside Schengen, so the way home has its own formalities: a General Aviation Report is filed between 48 and 2 hours before departure, and the first landing has to be at a regulated airfield, with fines of £2,500 for a landing at an unregulated one.

passport and customs paperwork for a private jet flight

From the apron to the island

There is no road to speak of. The airport is an island of its own, the resorts are on other islands, and the route to each is by air or by water. Which of the three is possible depends on the distance and the hour. The times below are those given by the resorts and the transfer guides we checked.

Velana to Hilton Maldives Amingiri
by speedboat, a resort close to the airport
about 20 minutes
Velana to One&Only Reethi Rah
by speedboat, in North Malé Atoll
about 45 minutes
Most resorts near Malé
by speedboat, which can run after dark
up to 1 hour
Velana to Four Seasons, Landaa Giraavaru
by seaplane, daylight only
35 to 40 minutes
Far southern atolls
a domestic flight, then often a short speedboat ride
by schedule
Shared seaplane, return
per person, depending on the resort
about £220 to £530
Private seaplane charter
one way, whole aircraft
about £900 to £11,000

Flying to the Maldives with a dog or a cat

For a dog the answer is simple and hard: it cannot go. The airport guide for Velana states that the import of dogs and dangerous animals is strictly prohibited. For a cat the door is open, with paperwork on both sides of the trip. The cat stays beside you in the cabin.

private flight with animals

What the two halves look like for a cat:

  • Into the Maldives: the airport guide asks for a health certificate from an authorised vet, and the sources we checked typically add a 15-digit ISO microchip, a rabies vaccination given between 30 days and 12 months before entry and parasite treatment. With all of it in order there is typically no quarantine. We confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight;
  • Into Great Britain: the Maldives is not on the GB list of countries with the simple pet rules (Part 1 or Part 2), so a Great Britain pet health certificate is needed, issued within 10 days of arrival;
  • The cat is microchipped before or at the same time as the rabies vaccination, which is given from 12 weeks of age. A blood sample goes to an EU-approved laboratory at least 30 days after the vaccination, with a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml, and the animal waits 3 months from the date of the sample before it travels;
  • No more than five animals per traveller, and quarantine of up to four months if the rules are not met.

What catches owners out on the Maldives run

– The wait is the long part. A blood sample cannot be taken until 30 days after the vaccination, and the three months start from the sample, so a cat whose paperwork is not already in order needs about four months of preparation before the return flight is legal. The dates of the holiday are best fixed after the paperwork, not before;

– The dog stays at home. Families with a dog usually settle on boarding or relatives before they ask for a quote, and that is an honest answer we give when the rules and the dates do not meet;

– The resort is a separate question. Whether an island takes an animal is not decided by the airport rules, so the resort is confirmed with the animal in mind, and the answer comes in writing before any booking.

Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Maldives calendar: a dry season, a wet season and the mid-winter peak

The Maldives has two seasons rather than four, and the calendar sets the price more than the aircraft does. The dry months from December to April are the busy ones, the wet months bring storms, and short transitions come in between. Choosing the week is the main decision, ahead of the aircraft.

Mid-Dec to early Jan
Christmas and New Year, in the middle of the dry season. Apron space at Velana and seats on the seaplanes are usually tightest here, and this is the stretch where a charter is planned weeks ahead, not days
December to April
The dry season, the northeast monsoon. The sea is calmer, snorkelling visibility is better and the resorts are at their busiest, so most private traffic falls in these months. Brokers advise booking well ahead
March and April
March is the hottest month, and April is described as the best month for swimming, with warm, calm and clear water. The seasons change around the end of April
May to November
The wet season, the southwest monsoon, with strong winds and storms. Showers generally pass quickly, but rough weather can disturb boat and seaplane transfers
May to November
Manta season at Hanifaru Bay and the surfing season, so divers and surfers travel in these months
October to December
The change to the dry weather. Hot, dry days bring many visitors from October, and October to April is a good window for a trip that also takes in India or Sri Lanka

Why the dry months cost more

Not the flying. The long-range fleet is small and every aircraft is already positioned somewhere. What gets tight in the dry season is the parking space at Velana, a seat on the seaplane to a particular resort, a handler on the apron at the right hour and a crew with legal hours left. A booking made a fortnight before Christmas can still be done, but it pays more and may mean an aircraft brought from the Gulf. The same booking made two months earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside the dry season the limit is not the aircraft but the permit, the weather on the day of the last transfer and the resort itself.

Ways to bring the Maldives price down

  • Shift the dates by a week to leave the Christmas and New Year weeks. The weeks outside Christmas and New Year, such as the end of April or October, are usually easier to book;
  • Look at the size of the party before the aircraft. A Praetor 600 seats nine and costs a good deal less than a Global 6000, and it does the trip with a stop in Dubai. For a larger party the Global 6000 is the better fit, and a Gulfstream G550 costs more per hour and earns it only with a bigger group;
  • Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Dubai or Doha needs less positioning than one in London, and on a route this long positioning is a large part of the bill;
  • Think about the parking. An aircraft that leaves Velana after the drop-off and returns later is priced differently from one that waits, and the better answer depends on the number of days and on what the airport will allow.

Types of flights

The Maldives produces a different mix from the business-led cities we cover. Almost everyone is going for the island itself, and the aircraft is a way of removing a connection and a day from the trip.

  • Honeymoons and anniversaries, two to four people, usually one-way out with a scheduled flight home;
  • Family holidays at Christmas, in the spring break and in summer, with children and staff, usually 6 to 12 people and a lot of luggage;
  • Wedding and celebration parties of 12 to 16 guests on a larger aircraft, flown out together;
  • Dive and surf trips in the wet months, often to a specific atoll and with heavy equipment bags;
  • Combined trips with India or Sri Lanka, where Malé is one stop in a longer loop;
  • Occasional corporate incentive groups and short business visits.

One-way or return is the question that takes the longest to answer. A return with the aircraft waiting for a week is a large invoice, and at Velana it is not always possible because of the parking. A one-way flight out with a scheduled flight home is cheaper than it looks, because the crew would otherwise be paid to wait. We quote both ways so that the difference is visible before you decide.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On a route as long as London to Malé they are rare, and they come from the pattern of the traffic rather than from volume.

Where Maldives empty legs come from

– The dry season. Large-cabin jets fly families out around Christmas and the winter holidays, and because parking is limited the aircraft often returns to Europe or the Gulf empty a few days later, which produces a leg you can book;

– The regional loop. Aircraft positioned to Colombo, Mumbai or Dubai for another job sometimes pass through Malé on the way back, and a Malé to Dubai sector can appear at a lower price;

– The Gulf. When one aircraft finishes a job in Dubai or Doha and needs to reach Britain, a London-bound leg becomes available at short notice.

Because a long leg is unusual, a client who can name a window of several days has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Maldives match the day an operator releases it.

Seaplane and helicopter charter

In the Maldives the seaplane does the job a helicopter does elsewhere. The country is islands, and the seaplane lands on the lagoon in front of the resort. The standard aircraft is the De Havilland Twin Otter, flown by Trans Maldivian Airways, whose headquarters is at Velana. A whole seaplane can be chartered privately for guests who do not want the shared schedule.

Velana to a resort on a shared seaplane
the standard transfer, often with stops at other islands
25 to 40 minutes
Private seaplane charter
one way, the whole aircraft, still daylight only
about £900 to £11,000

Luggage on a seaplane

Before you plan around a seaplane

– Daylight only. A seaplane takes off after sunrise and finishes before dusk. A jet that lands in the afternoon needs to be in time for the last transfer, and the arrival transfers at the resorts we checked are built for landings before about 15:00;

– Luggage. The allowance is tight for a family on a long stay. Bags that do not fit can travel by boat or on a later flight, and the resort needs to know before you leave;

– Weather. Strong winds and storms in the wet season can delay a transfer, and a boat or a night in Malé is the fallback. We found no scheduled helicopter service, so we look for one only when a landing site is confirmed.

We book the seaplane or the boat alongside the jet so that the aircraft, the handler and the transfer all work to one timetable.

Maldives charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

CHRISTMAS · FAMILY AND STAFF

Eight people and a landing around noon

Biggin Hill - Malé, Global 6000, about 10 h 05 min · 8 pax

The family left in the evening so that the aircraft reached Velana around noon, local time. The seaplane terminal is part of the same airport; the transfer to the resort took less than an hour and the children were in the water by mid-afternoon. The jet left for Dubai after the drop-off and came back for the return flight.

LATE ARRIVAL · A NIGHT IN MALÉ

The jet that landed after the seaplanes had stopped

Glasgow - Malé, Global 6000, about 10 h 30 min · 6 pax

A departure that slipped by half a day turned a lunchtime landing into a landing after dark. No seaplane flies at night, so the party slept near the airport and flew out to the resort the next morning. The lesson was added to the quote: fix the departure time round the seaplane window, not the other way round.

SUPER-MIDSIZE · A STOP IN DUBAI

Five guests on the lowest price

Manchester - Malé via Dubai, Praetor 600, about 11 h 50 min · 5 pax

The Praetor flew London to Dubai and Dubai to Malé, with about an hour on the ground at the stop. It cost much less than a Global 6000, and the client accepted the extra hour in return.

PARKING · THE JET THAT DID NOT WAIT

A ten-day stay and a repositioning flight

Biggin Hill - Malé and back, Global 6000 · 4 pax

Parking at Velana is limited, so the aircraft left after the drop-off and returned ten days later. The invoice included the positioning flights, and the client preferred that to paying for ten days on the apron.

A DOG ASKED ABOUT · ANSWERED BEFORE THE QUOTE

A labrador and a cat

London to Malé and back, Global 6000 · 4 pax + pets

The family asked about the dog first. We explained that dogs are not allowed in at all, and that the cat would need a health certificate and, for the return, a blood test and a three-month wait. The dog went to relatives, and the cat stayed too, because the dates would not allow the paperwork.

INDIA · A COMBINED TRIP

Malé and Mumbai on one itinerary

Malé - Mumbai, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 30 min · 6 pax

The long-haul aircraft flew the party to Velana, and a regional jet then did the sector to Mumbai after a few days on the island. The two permits were applied for together, and the timings were matched so that the seaplane lounge and the departure slot did not clash.

Frequently asked questions about flying to the Maldives

1How long is a private jet flight from London to the Maldives?

About 10 h 05 min from Biggin Hill or London City in a Global 6000 flying nonstop, and around 10 h 30 min from Glasgow. A super-midsize jet such as the Praetor 600 needs a stop in Dubai and takes about 11 h 35 min from Biggin Hill. The distance is roughly 4,800 nautical miles. The Maldives is four or five hours ahead of Britain, so an evening departure lands around noon.

2How much does a private jet to the Maldives cost?

From about £74,500 one way on a Praetor 600 with a stop in Dubai from Biggin Hill, and £74,850 from Luton. A Global 6000 flying nonstop is £129,200 from Biggin Hill or London City, and £132,000 from Manchester. Landing, parking and handling, the permit, catering and the fees at the stop are added once the dates are fixed, and the dry season from December to April prices above these figures.

3Which airport should a private jet use in the Maldives?

Velana International (MLE / VRMM) on Hulhulé island, next to Malé, is the choice for almost every trip. It has one 3,400 m runway, customs and immigration round the clock and a seaplane terminal on the same airport. International private jets are directed to only three airports, Velana, Villa International at Maamigili and Gan in the south, because of runway length. Parking at Velana is limited, and many aircraft leave after the drop-off.

4When is the best time to fly to the Maldives?

The dry season runs from December to April, with calmer seas and the busiest resorts, and the weeks around Christmas and New Year are the tightest for parking and seaplane seats. The wet season from May to November brings strong winds and storms, and the manta and surfing seasons. Seaplanes fly only in daylight, so an evening departure from London that lands around noon works best.

5What do British passengers need to enter the Maldives on a private jet?

A 30-day tourist visa is given on arrival. The passport needs at least one month of validity after arrival, and each traveller completes the IMUGA traveller declaration online within the 96 hours before the flight lands. Importing alcohol and pork is illegal. The operator needs a landing permit and a parking slot, and the regulations ask for permission at least 72 hours before a non-scheduled flight.

6Can I take my dog or cat to the Maldives on a private jet?

Dogs cannot be imported to the Maldives at all. A cat can travel in the cabin with a health certificate from an authorised vet and, typically, a 15-digit ISO microchip, a rabies vaccination and parasite treatment. The Maldives is not on the GB list of countries with the simple pet rules, so the return needs a Great Britain pet health certificate, a blood test at least 30 days after the vaccination and a wait of 3 months from the sample date.
