Private jet charter in Albenga
A private jet that leaves London at eight in the morning is on the Ligurian coast before eleven, local time, and Albenga is the quiet way to do it. Private Jets UK builds the charter around that small airfield. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Albenga Riviera Airport has a single runway of 1,432 m, customs and immigration on a daytime schedule and an executive terminal of its own, while Genoa, Nice, Cuneo and Turin stand behind it for the jets and the hours it cannot take. The real decisions are the size of the aircraft, the arrival hour and whether the programme points to Monaco.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Albenga depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Albenga?
One hour forty-five minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, two hours and a quarter from Edinburgh, and one hour of clock difference to add on arrival, because Italy keeps Central European time. At 567 to 891 nautical miles from the British fields we use, Albenga is a light-jet sector from the south of England and a job for a larger cabin from Scotland. The table gives the sector from each field.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave Biggin Hill at eight and you touch down at Villanova d'Albenga a little before eleven local time, with the town of Albenga about three nautical miles to the east. The executive terminal meets the aircraft, and a driver can have you in Alassio for lunch. What you plan around is daylight. The airport publishes handling, fuelling, security and air traffic services from about 07:30 to 17:30 local time, customs and immigration are listed for similar hours, to be confirmed for your date, landings on runway 09 are allowed only by day and night take-offs from runway 27 are prohibited. So this is a morning-arrival, afternoon-departure airfield, and the programme should be built that way from the start.
Light jet or midsize: how the choice usually goes on this route
– Up to five people with ordinary bags, take a light jet. A Citation CJ3+ or a Phenom 300E is comfortable for just under two hours, uses the runway without drama and costs noticeably less than a midsize cabin;
– With golf clubs, a nanny and a pile of beach luggage, a midsize such as the Citation XLS+ or the Latitude can be flown in, but the operator checks the take-off and landing figures for the day and the temperature before we confirm, because the runway is 1,432 m and not 3,000;
– A large-cabin jet, or a party above eight, is the case where Genoa or Nice is the better landing airport. You then continue by car or by helicopter, and the price does not rise: from Biggin Hill the light-jet sector to Genoa or Nice costs the same as the one to Albenga.

Private jet flights from Albenga
Albenga is a launch point for the French side of the Riviera and for the north of Italy. Nice is about half an hour away by turboprop, Turin about forty minutes, Milan Linate under an hour, and Olbia in Sardinia is an easy lunchtime sector for a light jet. Typical one-way prices:

Onward from Albenga: when the aircraft wins and when the car does
Nice is 48 nautical miles from Albenga on the chart, about 30 minutes in a Pilatus PC-12, yet the road along the coast is a long one, since Sanremo alone is about 45 minutes from Nice airport by car. Turin is 75 nautical miles, about 40 minutes in the same turboprop, and the road crosses the Ligurian Alps. Milan Linate is 101 nautical miles, about 45 minutes. Sardinia is where a jet pays for itself: Olbia is 207 nautical miles away, about 50 minutes in a Phenom 300E, and the sea is the only alternative. Italy and France are both inside Schengen, so a hop to Nice carries no passport control of its own.
Before you accept an onward quote from Albenga
– Which hour you depart. Albenga's published handling and customs hours are about 07:30 to 17:30 local time, confirmed for your date, so a late-afternoon departure to Sardinia or Nice has to leave before the staff go home, or be arranged with the airport in advance;
– Whether the legs are one booking. Albenga to Olbia and back to Britain a week later costs less arranged as one trip than as three separate charters, because the aircraft and crew stay with you.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.

Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Albenga:
Light jets, the natural fit for the runway
Just under two hours from the south of England, and a short runway that a light jet uses comfortably. Money is better spent on the car and the villa than on a cabin the party will not fill.
Midsize, checked against the runway
The hold fills faster than the seats on the Riviera, with golf, sailing bags and shopping. A midsize can be flown in, subject to the operator's performance figures for the day, or flown to Genoa and Nice and driven on.
Super-midsize and large, usually via Genoa or Nice
For a large party, a team that works in the air or a trip that carries on beyond Italy. The 1,432 m runway is a question for these, so they normally land at Genoa (2,916 m) or Nice and go on by car or helicopter.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the short hops from Albenga: Nice, Turin, Milan Linate and Cuneo are an hour or less in the air, and the saving over a jet on those distances is large.
Helicopters
The reason many clients choose Albenga in the first place: Monaco in under twenty minutes in the air, Sanremo and the French Riviera beyond. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Albenga sits among Genoa, Nice, Turin and Milan, so there is often an aircraft within an hour of the airport, and a quote may name one of those cities as the positioning point. That is normal for a small field with few based jets, and it is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Albenga
One airfield carries most Albenga trips, and four more matter when the aircraft is large or the programme leaves the coast. Which one is right depends on the size of the jet and on where the meeting is.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Albenga, Riviera Airport ALL / LIMG |
The answer for any trip whose business is on the Riviera di Ponente, from Finale Ligure to Sanremo and Monaco by helicopter. It lies at Villanova d'Albenga, a few miles west of the town, with a single asphalt runway 09/27 of 1,432 m by 45 m. Runway 09 has a displaced threshold, so the landing distance there is 1,347 m. There are two hard aprons of 5,000 square metres each and two hangars for visiting aircraft, the larger 39 m by 36 m. Fuel is Jet A1, and refuelling with passengers on board is not available for fixed-wing aircraft. There is no de-icing. Handling is compulsory, and the executive terminal is run by Hadid Riviera |
| Genoa, Cristoforo Colombo GOA / LIMJ |
The large-jet alternative, about 86 km north-east of Albenga, with a single runway 10/28 of 2,916 m and a position about 7 km west of the centre of Genoa. It takes anything we send, and it is the right landing for a heavy cabin, for the Genoa Boat Show in September and for meetings in Genoa itself. The drive to the Albenga coast is the price of that choice, so plan on the road and not on the clock |
| Nice, Côte d'Azur NCE / LFMN |
The French alternative, about 120 km west of Albenga, with two parallel runways of 2,570 m and 2,960 m and a Business Aviation Terminal beside Terminal 2 with VIP and crew lounges. A helicopter service links the airport with Monaco. It is the usual choice for a large jet bound for Monaco, Cannes or Saint-Tropez, and Albenga is the quieter option when the base is on the Italian side of the border |
| Cuneo, Levaldigi CUF / LIMZ |
A Piedmont airport on the far side of the Ligurian Alps, with a runway 03/21 of 2,104 m by 45 m and scheduled flights of its own. It is about 70 km from Albenga on the map and much further by the mountain road. It helps when the programme is in Piedmont, and we confirm the business-aviation arrangements and hours before quoting |
| Turin, Sandro Pertini TRN / LIMF |
A large airport about 16 km north-north-west of Turin, with a runway 18/36 of 3,300 m and a general aviation terminal. It is the choice when the business is in Turin or when the party is headed for the Alpine resorts, which the airport reaches by shuttle services. It lies about 209 km from Albenga, so it is not an alternative for a coast holiday |
Four things to settle before an Albenga landing:
The executive terminal and its services
Hadid Riviera runs the executive aviation terminal, with a meet-and-greet on arrival, aircraft parking including long-stay parking, fuel, and the booking of onward jets, helicopters, hotels, villas and chauffeured cars. The lounge has a library and private meeting rooms. Ground handling is compulsory at the airport, and the terminal staff normally arrange it for the whole trip.
Hours, notice and permits
Handling, fuelling, security and air traffic services run from about 07:30 to 17:30 local time, and anything outside that needs 12 hours' notice to the airport. Some flight-planning databases print different seasonal hours, so we confirm the hours for your date. A British operator running a charter is a third-country carrier for Italy: ENAC publishes a blanket authorisation for on-demand flights in aircraft of up to 19 seats, and changes of date, airport or aircraft are notified to it by the operator.
Border and passport
Italy is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear passport control and customs here, on the field. Customs and immigration keep daytime hours, confirmed for your date, and flights to or from a non-EU, non-Schengen country are accepted daily if they are requested three hours before the flight plan is filed. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure.
The runway and the aircraft
The runway is 1,432 m, so the aircraft is chosen against it. A light jet is straightforward, a midsize needs the operator's figures for the day, and a large cabin lands at Genoa or Nice. The airport counts every jet as a complex aircraft, so its operator has to register with the airport operator and show the commander's qualification before using the field, which we handle with the quote.

Border, passport and the road to France
The first landing in the Schengen area is where the formalities happen, and a small airport does them quickly: there is no queue of airliners, and the team knows the aircraft in advance. After that the border is mostly invisible. Italy is a full member of the Schengen area, so the coast road west towards France needs no passport control, although a car can still be stopped for a document check. Monaco is not in the European Union but is in a customs union with France and has no land border controls with it, and we confirm the formalities for a landing at the Monaco heliport with the helicopter operator. Meat, milk and products made from them cannot be brought into the European Union, which matters when catering is loaded in Britain. For the return, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure, and a passenger who needs an Electronic Travel Authorisation for Britain must hold it before boarding.

From the apron to the old town and the beaches
Albenga is a small Ligurian town with an exceptional old centre. The Romans knew it as Albingaunum, and the octagonal baptistery has an interior from the fifth century, next to a cathedral built over an early Christian basilica. The town also keeps a medieval skyline of towers, among them the Torre Oddo, and a Roman Naval Museum in Palazzo Peloso Cepolla that displays over a thousand amphorae from a ship that sank off the coast in the 1st century BC. Offshore lies the island of Gallinara, less than a nautical mile away, with a monastery that bears the name of St Martin. For a private client it is the base for the whole Riviera: Alassio for the beach and the evening, Finale Ligure for a medieval borgo and a fort, Savona for the port and the Della Rovere monuments, and the French border for the day when you want a different coast.

Flying to Albenga with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork is what needs planning on an Italian trip, and the flight is the easy bit: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector of under two hours most simply sleep. The date on the health certificate is the detail that goes wrong, because the certificate is valid for only ten days for entry to the EU.

What an EU country such as Italy asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed after the vaccination before the animal travels;
- An Animal Health Certificate for each trip, issued by an Official Veterinarian and valid for ten days for entry to the EU. A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU;
- No more than five animals per traveller, and entry through a travellers' point of entry, which we confirm in writing for the airport;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Albenga run
– Italy does not require tapeworm treatment on the way in, only Britain asks for it on the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book on the Riviera towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours, and the airport works to a daytime schedule, so a departure is set for the morning or midday and the appointment is fixed to suit it;
– The order of the chip and the vaccine matters. A vaccination given before the microchip does not count, and an animal that arrives without the right paperwork can be refused entry, so the certificate is checked line by line before the flight, not at the terminal;
– Tell us the breed, the age and the number of animals when you ask for the quote, not afterwards. Our managers check the Italian position for your dates before a booking is taken.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the entry point and the paperwork on the way home, we confirm both in writing before the flight.
The Riviera calendar: a festival in winter, a Palio in July and a boat show in autumn
The coast around Albenga has a handful of busy periods and a long quiet stretch. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft, and it decides whether Albenga, Genoa or Nice is the better landing.
Why a festival week costs more
Not the flying. Albenga is a small field with two hard aprons of 5,000 square metres each and two hangars, so on a busy week the parking positions run out before the demand does. A booking made two weeks before the Sanremo festival can still be done, but it may mean parking the aircraft elsewhere and positioning it back. The same booking made four or five weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Albenga is easy: a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Albenga price down
- Move the dates by a few days where you can. The days either side of the Sanremo festival, and the weeks between the summer holidays, are calmer than the weekends themselves;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits at Nice, Genoa or Milan takes less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful part of the bill;
- Compare Turin and Cuneo with Albenga when the meeting allows it. On the same light jet from Biggin Hill, the sector to Turin is priced about £800 lower than the one to Albenga and the sector to Cuneo about £450 lower, while Genoa and Nice are priced the same. The saving is real and so is the drive, so let the location of the meeting decide.
Types of flights
Albenga produces a different mix from the Alpine or the big-city destinations we cover, because it is a small airfield on a leisure coast, close to the principality and to Sanremo, the home of the song festival and the cycling classic.
- Riviera holidays and weekends, with a villa or a hotel in Alassio, Finale Ligure or Albenga itself and a short drive from the field;
- Monaco by helicopter, for a dinner, a casino evening or a race weekend, with the jet landing at the quiet field and the helicopter doing the last stretch;
- Festival and sport weeks in Sanremo, from the song festival in February to the cycling classic in March;
- Boat-show and yacht visits, with owners and guests flying into Genoa or Albenga and joining a boat at the port;
- Excursions along the coast to Savona, the Cinque Terre and the French border, with a driver or a helicopter doing the legs;
- Hops to Nice, Turin, Milan and Sardinia inside a longer European loop.
The day trip is possible but unusual. Land a little after ten, leave at four in the afternoon, well before the airport closes, and you are back in Britain a little before five, UK time, with six hours or so on the ground in between. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it can still come out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. We quote it both ways, so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Albenga has few based jets and no regular airline traffic, so empty legs come from the pattern of events along the coast, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Albenga empty legs come from
– Festival and race weeks. Aircraft that bring guests to Sanremo or Monaco sometimes reposition through Albenga, and a leg towards Britain from there is one that can be offered;
– The summer weekends. Villa parties arrive on the Friday and the aircraft goes home empty, which produces an outbound leg on the Saturday or the Sunday;
– The boat show in September. Operators moving aircraft to and from Genoa put short legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
Because the Ligurian corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular morning. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag an Albenga match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
At Albenga the helicopter is not an extra but a large part of the reason to land here. A company based at the airport flies passengers directly to Monaco in under twenty minutes, and the airport promotes itself as a gateway to the principality and the French Riviera. The alternative is a long drive on the coast road.
38 nm on the chart to the heliport at Fontvieille, against a long drive along the coastunder 20 minutes in the air
22 nm on the chart, for the festival, the casino or the Poggio finishabout 19 minutes
23 nm on the chart, for the port and the Priamar fortressabout 20 minutes
71 nm on the chart, against a train from La Spezia or Genoa and a hard search for parkingabout 45 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, so we check the status of a hotel lawn, a yacht-club helipad or a hillside before the quote is written, not after it;
– Weather sets the schedule. Low cloud and sea fog on the coast can stop a helicopter on a day when a jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– A flight to Monaco or France crosses into another country's airspace and landing rules. Tell us the heliport at the other end when you ask for the quote, and book the helicopter together with the jet.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for scenic and short-hop work, the wider H130 for villa and hotel transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Albenga charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
FAMILY · A WEEK ON THE COAST
Six people, a villa near Alassio and a lot of luggage
Biggin Hill - Albenga and return, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 45 min each way · 6 pax
They wanted the nearest field to the villa, not the nearest big airport, and the light jet landed on the 1,432 m runway without any special arrangement. A Saturday morning departure arrived before lunch, and the car was at the terminal door. The return was set for the same hour a week later, well before the airport closes for the day.
FESTIVAL · SANREMO IN FEBRUARY
A small party for the song festival week
Farnborough - Albenga, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 40 min · 5 pax
Sanremo hotels were full, so the party stayed in Alassio and used the quiet field instead of Nice. The aircraft was booked five weeks ahead, which is what kept parking and the price in hand. A driver took the coast road on the evenings of the festival, and nobody tried to get a car into the centre of Sanremo.
MONACO · A DAY BY HELICOPTER
Dinner in the principality and back in Italy for the night
London Luton - Albenga, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 40 min · 4 pax
The jet landed at Albenga and the helicopter took the party to Monaco in under twenty minutes in the air. The two crews worked to one timetable, a road car was kept on standby in case of sea fog, and the day ended back at the villa. We had quoted Nice as well; the party preferred a quiet field on the Italian side, close to the villa.
BOAT SHOW · A LARGER AIRCRAFT
A team heading for the Genoa Boat Show
Edinburgh - Genoa, Challenger 350, about 2 h 15 min · 8 pax
Eight people from Scotland, most of them with cases for a week of meetings on the Levante Waterfront. We looked at Albenga and preferred Genoa: the runway is 2,916 m against 1,432 m, the aircraft is larger and the show is on the doorstep. The question that settled it was the size of the cabin, not the distance.
SPRING · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for an Easter week
Southampton - Albenga, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 45 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment on the Riviera for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY MORNING HOME
A jet already going your way
Albenga - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 40 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday morning departure from the coast.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Albenga
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Albenga?
About 1 hour 45 minutes from London City and Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 1 hour 40 minutes from Luton in a Phenom, covering roughly 567 to 603 nautical miles. From Bristol and Birmingham allow 1 hour 50 minutes to 1 hour 55 minutes, from Manchester 2 hours, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow 2 hours 15 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes. Italy is one hour ahead of Britain, so an eight o'clock departure lands before eleven local time.
2How much does a private jet to Albenga cost?
From about £8,300 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill or London City, and £8,600 to £8,800 in a Phenom from Farnborough or Luton. A midsize cabin runs £10,650 to £11,450 from the south and Midlands, and from Scotland allow £18,300 to £18,650. Sanremo festival week, the Palio weekend and Monaco grand prix week can price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use, Albenga, Genoa or Nice?
Albenga Riviera (ALL / LIMG) if you are staying on the Riviera di Ponente or heading to Monaco by helicopter. It has a single 1,432 m runway, so light jets are straightforward, midsize jets depend on the performance figures for the day and larger cabins normally land elsewhere. Genoa (GOA / LIMJ, 2,916 m) and Nice (NCE / LFMN, 2,570 m and 2,960 m) take any jet, and on a light jet from Biggin Hill they are priced the same as Albenga. Cuneo (CUF / LIMZ) and Turin (TRN / LIMF) suit Piedmont and the Alps, and are priced about £450 and £800 lower.
4Do I need a visa or customs clearance for Albenga?
Britain is outside Schengen and Italy is inside it, so you clear passport control and customs on arrival at the airfield. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. Customs and immigration keep daytime hours, about 07:30 to 17:30 local time and confirmed for your date, and traffic from a non-Schengen country is accepted if it is requested three hours before the flight plan is filed. A British operator running a charter also needs the Italian authorisation for third-country carriers, which we track together with the aircraft paperwork.
5Can I get from Albenga to Monaco by helicopter, and how long does it take?
Yes. A helicopter company based at the airport flies to Monaco in under 20 minutes, about 38 nautical miles on the chart to the heliport. Sanremo is about 19 minutes and the Cinque Terre about 45 minutes. A landing site away from an aerodrome needs the landowner's consent, so we agree the site before the quote is written.
6Can I take my dog to Albenga on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and an EU country such as Italy asks for a microchip fitted before or with the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. A British pet passport cannot be used. Italy does not ask for a tapeworm treatment on the way in, but a dog needs one from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
