Private jet charter in Ecuador
A little over 5,100 nautical miles separate Britain from the Ecuadorian capital, and the distance, not the guest list, decides what flies a private jet charter to Ecuador. Only the long-range cabins cross without a stop, and the arrival airport then shapes everything else: Quito at 2,400 metres in the Andes, Guayaquil at sea level, or a dry strip in the Galapagos with rules of its own. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Ecuador that also means a landing permit from the civil aviation authority and a performance check before any departure from a runway a mile and a half above the sea.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Ecuador depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Farnborough, a Gulfstream G550 to Quito Mariscal Sucre, nonstop, and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Ecuador?
Mainland Ecuador keeps UTC-5 all year and does not change its clocks, so Quito is six hours behind Britain during British Summer Time and five hours behind in winter. The Galapagos run one hour further back, at UTC-6. These are the sectors from London Farnborough on a Gulfstream G550, gate to gate:
5,143 nautical miles, the capital, and the airport behind most business itinerariesabout 10 h 35 min
5,273 nautical miles, the Pacific coast field with a long runwayabout 10 h 50 min
5,302 nautical miles, the largest city and the port, at sea levelabout 10 h 50 min
5,304 nautical miles, the colonial city in the southern Andesabout 10 h 50 min
5,622 nautical miles, Seymour airport in the Galapagos, reached nonstop only by a long-range jetabout 11 h 30 min
Landing in the afternoon, leaving after dinner
A take-off from Farnborough at 08:00 reaches Quito at about 12:35 local time in the British summer and at about 13:35 in winter, which leaves the evening for the hotel and a full night at altitude before the first meeting. The return runs the other way: leave Quito at 21:00, sleep on board, and the aircraft is on the ground in Britain at about 13:35 the next afternoon in summer and 12:35 in winter.
More than eleven hours in the air, plus checks at both ends, is longer than a normal two-pilot duty day allows, so the operator usually adds a third pilot and the extra crew member appears in the quote.
Baltra is 479 nautical miles beyond Quito, which is about 1 h more in the air and £13,100 more on the quote, but the Galapagos cannot be treated as a normal arrival, as the airports section below explains. The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Two things worth knowing about these figures
– Range picks the aircraft. A Gulfstream G550 is published at 6,750 nautical miles, and Farnborough to Quito is 5,143 on our planned track, which leaves a margin of 1,607 for a headwind. A Bombardier Global 6000 at 6,000 would leave 857, too thin for us to quote, so the larger Gulfstream and, for clients who want more cabin, the G650ER carry the table;
– Departure airfield matters less than the arrival. Belfast City to Guayaquil is about £400 above the Farnborough to Quito anchor, because Guayaquil lies further down the coast. Every figure is for the trip out. A return in the same week is quoted either as a second one-way sector or as a wait on the ground, whichever costs less.
Private jet flights within Ecuador and to its neighbours
Ecuador is small on the map and steep in practice: a coast, an Andean spine, an Amazon lowland and an island group a thousand kilometres out in the Pacific. Quito to Guayaquil is 158 nautical miles on our track, Quito to Cuenca 177, and Quito to Lima 747. These are the sectors we are asked for, flown from Quito, with the neighbouring capitals that clients combine with an Ecuadorian trip:

Two limits on the internal sectors
– Cabotage is strict. A private or charter aircraft that arrived from abroad may carry only the passengers it brought in, and may not pick up anyone new inside Ecuador, with no exceptions listed. The internal sectors in the table are therefore flown by an aircraft based in the region, not by the jet that crossed the Atlantic;
– The neighbours are close. Cali, Bogotá and Lima are short hops for a mid-size jet, so we quote a regional aircraft and let the itinerary decide.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Ecuador:
Ultra-long range
The classes that cross from Britain without a stop. The G550 is the working choice for every airport on this page, the G650ER adds a larger cabin and more margin, and the Global 7500 flies the same crossing with the longest published range.
Heavy jets
Large cabins with a range of about 4,000 to 5,000 nautical miles. They reach Ecuador with a planned stop on the way, and inside the region they suit the longer sectors to Lima or Panama City.
Super-midsize
The class behind most regional legs from Quito. It reaches Guayaquil in under an hour, and a Praetor 600 covers Bogotá and Lima with a margin.
Light jets
For Manta, Cuenca and other short hops, where the sector is a few hundred nautical miles and the cabin carries four to six people. Cuenca's runway is short for its height, so a light jet is the sensible tool there.
Turboprops
For short regional work on the ground in Ecuador, not for the journey from London, which at turboprop speed would take several days of stops.

Business aviation airports in Ecuador
Ecuador has two airports that handle business aviation at scale and a handful of high, short or protected fields that need planning. Between them the airports differ by altitude, by hours and by the rules around them, and those matter more than the length of the runway:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Quito Mariscal Sucre UIO / SEQM |
in Tababela, about 18 to 21 km east of the city | The arrival for the crossing from Britain and the airport with the full set of services. One paved runway of about 4,100 metres at roughly 2,400 metres above sea level, open round the clock, and listed as an airport of entry with customs on site. Slots are listed as not required. The general aviation terminal is operated by Ecuacentair, listed as an Air Elite location, with Jethandling Ecuador and Galafixer as supervising agents, and the offices are listed as open on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:30 local time. With a single runway there is no second runway to divert to, so the operator builds an alternate into the plan |
| Guayaquil José Joaquín de Olmedo GYE / SEGU |
about 5 km north of the centre, on Avenida de las Americas | The airport at sea level, the easiest field for a long-range jet to leave with full tanks. Paved runway of about 2,790 metres, open round the clock, listed as an airport of entry with customs, no slots, and handling listed as mandatory. Ecuacentair and Jethandling Ecuador are listed as handlers. It is also the usual mainland uplift point for the Galapagos, since fuel is not sold on the islands |
| Manta Eloy Alfaro MEC / SEMT |
on the Pacific coast of Manabi province | A joint civil and military field with an asphalt runway of about 2,860 metres, listed as a fuel and repositioning point for aircraft working the Galapagos. Its airport of entry status was not confirmed, so we plan customs at Quito or Guayaquil and treat Manta as a domestic arrival |
| Cuenca Mariscal Lamar CUE / SECU |
in the middle of the city | The airport for colonial Cuenca, at about 2,530 metres above sea level with an asphalt runway of about 1,900 metres, barely enough for a large aircraft at this altitude. We plan a light or mid-size jet from Quito or Guayaquil here |
| Galapagos Seymour (Baltra) GPS / SEGS |
on Baltra, across the channel from Santa Cruz island | The Galapagos field used by private aircraft in the listed procedures. Runway of about 2,400 metres, daylight instrument operations only, general aviation windows of 08:00 to 09:00 and 13:00 to 13:45 local time, no fuel and no overnight parking. A slot is required through the handler, passengers are dropped and the aircraft repositions to the mainland or Manta |
| Galapagos San Cristobal SCY / SEST |
on San Cristobal, the island with the provincial capital | An asphalt runway of about 1,840 metres, narrow and unlit. General aviation windows of 07:00 to 09:45 and from 12:00 to sunset, airline traffic has priority, three spaces for drop-off and pick-up only, no overnight parking. A secondary option to Baltra |
Two rules settle most Ecuadorian trips before a quote goes out:
The permit
A landing permit from the civil aviation authority is needed for a visit to more than one Ecuadorian airport, and one listing puts the processing at 8 to 12 business days. For a single airport with a stay of more than 48 hours the notice is 48 hours, and another service files against five working days. A technical landing, or a stay of under 48 hours at one airport, needs advance notice only and is approved verbally. We treat three weeks as the safe lead for anything involving the islands.
Documents
The authority asks for the airworthiness and registration certificates, insurance, the full schedule and the passport details of crew and passengers. The handler also wants weights and fuel figures for the flight plan.
Quito is a performance field
At about 2,400 metres the air is thin, and a heavy jet has less climb performance and payload than the same aircraft at sea level. The single runway is long, but the take-off weight for the way home is still worked out before the quote.
The Galapagos by private aircraft: what is actually possible
The islands are the reason many clients ask about Ecuador, and the rules for them are stricter than the brochure suggests. According to the handler listings we rely on, the Galapagos have no airport of entry, so the aircraft clears customs and immigration at Quito or Guayaquil and there is no direct international arrival. The listings also say that charter flights are not permitted, only private non-revenue flights, with a limit of 20 passengers, and that the civil aviation authority will not approve international flights to or from the islands.
For a booking through a broker that matters, and we confirm the position with the operator and the authority before any quote is issued. In practice most guests fly the scheduled service from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra or San Cristobal and use a private aircraft for everything on the mainland. Where a private flight is possible, the aircraft is sprayed against insects before it leaves the mainland at a listed cost of 230 to 900 US dollars while passengers wait in the lounge, and hotels and local transport are booked weeks ahead.
Arriving from Britain: passports, customs and what to carry
Ecuador is outside the European Union and the Schengen area, and the entry rules for a British citizen are short. Immigration and customs are cleared at the airport of entry, and for a private flight that means Quito or Guayaquil.
British citizens can visit without a visa for up to 90 days in any 12-month period, with one possible extension of 90 days. The passport must be valid for at least six months after the day of arrivalevery passenger, children included
Visitors may stay up to 60 days and need evidence of a hotel booking or an invitation letter, evidence of a flight back to the mainland and travel health insurance. A transit control card is bought at the departure airport before check-inplan before you fly
Adults carrying taxable goods or cash of 10,000 US dollars or more must register online at least three days before travel and show the QR code on arrival or departure. Cash over 1,350 US dollars leaving the country must be declared, with tax on the excessdeclared online
Security and the way home
The handler checks the permit against the flight plan, and the crew list and passenger manifest go to the agent before landing. We suggest reading the FCDO travel advice for Ecuador before booking, and a car with a driver arranged through the handler is the sensible choice for a first visit.
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and most other nationalities do.

Which airport for which part of Ecuador
The arrival airport follows from one address: the hotel in the old town of Quito, the hacienda in the highlands, the boat on the islands. These are the usual pairings:
The city stands at about 2,850 metres, its historic centre was among the first World Heritage listings, and the airport lies about 18 to 21 km to the east. The Cotopaxi volcano rises just south of the capitalQuito
The largest city, the industrial centre and the financial capital, at sea level and about 5 km from its airport. The better choice for banking, shipping and shrimp, and for the beach towns of the PacificGuayaquil
Not an airport of entry, and for charter flights not permitted in the listed procedures. The usual route is a scheduled flight from the mainland after customs has been cleared at Quito or GuayaquilQuito or Guayaquil, then on
Quito, Guayaquil and the islands: what our clients go for
Business takes clients to two cities. Quito is the capital and the country's largest business centre, and Guayaquil is the largest city and the main industrial and financial centre. Ecuador adopted the US dollar as its only currency, so contracts and fees are written in the currency a visiting director already knows. Petroleum is the largest export earner, followed by bananas, shrimp, cut flowers and cacao, and Ecuador is described as the world's largest exporter of bananas.
Flowers explain a good deal of the traffic at Quito: about 92 percent of the airport's export air cargo is flowers.
The Galapagos remain the long-haul dream: 127 islands, islets and rocks, about 97.5 percent of the land national park, and every group accompanied by a licensed guide. It is a place for a week on a boat, with the private aircraft held at Quito or Guayaquil.
The Ecuadorian year: dry Andes, wet Andes, warm and cool seas
Ecuador straddles the equator, so the seasons are about rain and altitude, not winter and summer. The mainland and the islands keep different calendars:
the dry season in Quito, and the best months for the volcanoes and the old town. July and August are also popular on the islandsdry in the Andes
the wet season returns to Quito and runs on until May. On the islands this is the low season, when many boats go to dry dock, though diving is at its peak from July to Novemberislands quiet
the warm season in the Galapagos, with little wind and occasional heavy downpours, and the main season for naturalist cruises. The Andes are wetislands busy
Quito or Guayaquil for the crossing
A Gulfstream G550 can fly from Farnborough to either city without a stop. Guayaquil is 159 nautical miles further, about £4,350 more on the quote, but the aircraft lands and departs at sea level, with a full fuel load and no altitude penalty. For a party whose business is on the coast Guayaquil is the simpler airport, and we put both on the quote.
The Ecuadorian calendar: what pulls on the airports
The dated events are few, and the biggest ones pull on a single airport:
Why the islands need early booking
The Galapagos allow a narrow daylight window, a slot within 15 minutes and no overnight parking for a private aircraft, and the landing permit alone can take weeks. A client who wants a specific week in the warm season should say so at the first enquiry.

Flying to Ecuador with a dog or a cat
A dog or cat can travel to Ecuador with its owner, and the work is in the British paperwork. The certificate is the one issued for the export of dogs and cats from the United Kingdom to Ecuador, completed by an official vet.
The one fact to read before you book
On the version of the form we checked, the certificate is valid for 10 days from the date of signature, the rabies vaccination must have been given at least 21 days before export, and a rabies antibody test must show a titre of at least 0.5 IU/ml, done in a government laboratory, with the result attached. Antiparasite treatments and the dog and cat vaccinations are timed against the export date as well, and the vet checks the form against the current version.
The way home is the harder half. We treat Ecuador as a country outside the listed group, so the animal returns on a Great Britain pet health certificate after a rabies blood test, and entry to Britain is not allowed until three months after the date of the sample. A dog also needs tapeworm treatment from a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours before landing, and an animal without the right paperwork can be held in quarantine for up to four months.
The Galapagos run a separate biosecurity regime for animals, so we do not plan a pet on the islands and the answer for any exception comes from the authority there. The three-month count is the point on the mainland as well: a weekend with a pet in Ecuador does not work unless the blood sample was taken at least three months before the return, so we build the timetable backwards from the date of landing in Britain and confirm in writing how the animal will be received. Requirements for rabbits, birds, reptiles and the less usual species are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Ecuadorian run there are few of them, because few aircraft can make the crossing, but each one is a long and valuable sector.
Where Ecuadorian empty legs come from
– A long-range jet that flew a party out to Quito and returns to Britain without passengers, which is the commonest leg and the one most often offered;
– A jet repositioning to Quito or Guayaquil for a booking that starts there, which turns the outbound crossing into a bargain for anyone who can leave on the operator's date;
A client who can offer a window of several weeks has a far better chance of a match, though the operator owns the date and a leg can disappear when the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. A selection of Ecuadorian empty legs follows:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| UK (Belfast) - Ecuador (Quito UIO) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £59,400 |
| Ecuador (Quito UIO) - UK (Manchester) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £60,650 |
| Ecuador (Quito UIO) - UK (London Farnborough) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £61,050 |
| UK (London Gatwick) - Ecuador (Quito UIO) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £61,300 |
| UK (London Biggin Hill) - Ecuador (Quito UIO) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £61,400 |
| Ecuador (Guayaquil GYE) - UK (Bristol) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £62,050 |
| UK (Southampton) - Ecuador (Guayaquil GYE) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £62,550 |
| Ecuador (Quito UIO) - UK (Edinburgh) | Gulfstream G650ER | 14 seats | £68,300 |
How to read those figures
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A G550 home from Quito to Farnborough with sixteen seats comes to about £3,800 a head, on a cabin that is large for the money;
– Set each line beside the same sector in the first table: the saving is large and a month of flexibility is the minimum worth offering.

Helicopter charter
Helicopters in Ecuador do a few specific jobs: the hop from the capital to the equator line, the run south towards the volcano country, and the short transfers that the road makes slow. They are not a substitute for the airport. These are the transfers clients ask about, with times estimated from the straight-line distance:
the equator monument north of the cityabout 15 min
the volcano just south of the capitalabout 25 min
the Andean town south of the capitalabout 35 min
The times are straight-line estimates at a cruise of about 115 knots, and the operator confirms the route, the helicopter type and the landing site for your date. Availability of helicopters and permission to land near the volcano or in the park areas are the uncertain part, and we check both before the quote is issued.
No helicopter hop to the islands
The Galapagos lie about a thousand kilometres from the mainland, far beyond the reach of a helicopter.

Flights from the UK to Ecuador
Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Gatwick and Stansted send most of the traffic on this corridor, with Southampton, Bristol and Manchester behind them and Scotland and Northern Ireland at the long end; the price table higher up covers thirteen of those pairings. Our clients have access to all airports of the UK and Europe. Due to the unique partnership conditions, we can offer our clients the best prices for business aviation services. Our experts will consult you on the availability of private jets in a particular city and help you choose the best option.

Ecuadorian charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
Six typical jobs put together from booking notes with the particulars changed, so none describes one named client or date.
QUITO · THE BUSINESS TRIP
Two directors and three days of meetings
Farnborough - Quito, Gulfstream G550, about 10 h 35 min each way · 2 pax
Wheels up at eight, on the ground in the afternoon on the local clock, and a night at altitude before the first meeting. The aircraft stayed on the ramp at Quito for the three days and flew the party home on the third night with a third pilot in the crew.
GUAYAQUIL · THE COAST
A shipping delegation and a day at the port
Belfast - Guayaquil, Gulfstream G550, about 10 h 35 min · 6 pax
The party landed at sea level, cleared customs at the general aviation terminal and went straight to the port. Handling is mandatory at the field, so the handler was booked before the permit request went in.
QUITO · THE VOLCANO ROUTE
Six friends and a week in the Andes
Southampton - Quito, Gulfstream G550 · 6 pax
The party spent the first night at the hotel in the old town to adjust to the height, took the cable car above the city on the second day and drove south to the volcano country. The jet waited at Quito for the week.
GALAPAGOS · THE ISLANDS
A family of four and a week on the water
Quito - Baltra, scheduled service, private aircraft held on the mainland · 4 pax
Charter flights to the islands are not permitted in the listed procedures, so the family flew the airline from Quito, joined a boat and left the long-range jet at the mainland until the return. The insurance, the hotel proof and the transit card were arranged before they left Britain.
MANTA · THE COAST
A couple and a long weekend on the Pacific
Bristol - Manta, Gulfstream G550, about 10 h 40 min · 2 pax
The G550 had range for Manta with a margin, so there was no stop. Customs had been cleared at Quito on the way in, and the long runway allowed a full fuel load for the way home.
EMPTY LEG · AFTER THE CRUISE SEASON
A flexible return from Quito
Quito - London Farnborough, Gulfstream G550 empty leg, about 10 h 35 min · 4 pax
The client gave us a window of ten days instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid about £61,050, well under half of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Ecuador
1How long does it take to fly to Ecuador by private jet?
About 10 hours 35 minutes from London to Quito on a Gulfstream G550, and around 10 hours 50 minutes to Guayaquil. Quito is five or six hours behind Britain, depending on the season, because Ecuador does not change its clocks.
2How much does a private jet to Ecuador cost?
From about £145,350 one way from Farnborough to Quito on a Gulfstream G550. Belfast City to Guayaquil on a G550 is about £145,750, and Leeds Bradford to Quito on a G650ER is about £163,650.
3Which airport do private jets use in Quito?
Quito Mariscal Sucre, about 18 to 21 km east of the city at Tababela. It has a runway of about 4,100 metres at roughly 2,400 metres above sea level, is open round the clock, and is listed as an airport of entry. The general aviation terminal is run by Ecuacentair.
4What paperwork does a private flight to Ecuador need?
British citizens can visit without a visa for up to 90 days in any 12-month period, and the passport must be valid for at least six months after arrival. The operator requests a landing permit through the civil aviation authority, and the notice runs from 48 hours for a single airport to several weeks for a multi-airport itinerary or the Galapagos.
5Can I take my dog or cat on a private jet to Ecuador?
Yes. The animal needs a British export health certificate signed by an official vet, valid for 10 days from signature, with a rabies vaccination at least 21 days before export and a rabies antibody result of at least 0.5 IU/ml attached. The way home needs a rabies blood test and a wait of three months from the sample date, and a dog needs tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before landing.
6Can a private jet from London fly to the Galapagos?
A Gulfstream G550 has the range for Baltra, which is 5,622 nautical miles from Farnborough, but the listed procedures say the islands have no airport of entry, so customs is cleared at Quito or Guayaquil first. Charter flights are listed as not permitted, there is no fuel and no overnight parking, and most guests fly the scheduled service from the mainland. We confirm the position with the operator before quoting.
