Private jet charter to Syria
Some destinations ask for a longer conversation than a quote. Syria is one of them, because the distance from London is the easy part and the conditions on the route and on the ground are not. This page sets out what a UK broker can arrange, what it cannot, and where the published advice stands. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Syria that begins with a plain account of the limits.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter to Syria depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Biggin Hill, an Embraer Praetor 600 to Damascus with no technical stop and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
What a private jet can and cannot do for Syria
Private Jets UK treats Syria as a destination for a case-by-case enquiry and not as a route to book from a price table. The only airport we would plan to is Damascus International (OSDI). Whether a given flight can go depends on three things that no brochure settles: the advice of the Foreign Office, the bulletins of the aviation regulators and the view of the operator's insurers. Each is set out below as it is published.
What the published positions say
– The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all travel to Syria, citing unpredictable security conditions and the threat of terrorist attacks. The page states that consular support is not available from the British government from within Syria;
– The same page says that travel insurance could be invalidated if you travel against the advice, and tells anyone who does to arrange cover that fits the itinerary, the activities and emergency costs. It adds that airports and airspace in the region could close at short notice, with flight cancellations and periodic closures of airspace to be expected;
– The European Union Aviation Safety Agency keeps a conflict zone bulletin for the Damascus flight information region (OSTT). It recommends that operators do not operate at any level west of a line joining the points ZELAF, BASEM, LOTAX and LATEB, and do not operate below flight level 260 in the rest of the region. It asks for caution at and above that level, mentions daylight operations as an extra mitigation, and calls for an up-to-date risk assessment and contingency plans. The bulletin is revised and its validity extended at intervals, so we read the current text at every enquiry;
– Summaries of national notices show that the United Kingdom publishes a warning of its own on the Damascus region in its aeronautical information publication, described as a prohibition for some categories of UK operators and as a call to weigh the risk for the rest. Other states publish warnings of similar kinds. We read the published UK text at each enquiry and do not rely on summaries.
Put together, these positions leave very little room. The Foreign Office advice and the safety agency's bulletin are recommendations and not bans, and the UK notice may bind some operators and not others, but every authority that speaks on the matter asks operators and travellers to stay away, and the Foreign Office advice covers the country as a whole. An operator can decline the flight for reasons that have nothing to do with price, and many will.

a decision for the traveller and the traveller's insurer; our part is the flight and the arrangements around it, and we do not encourage ityour insurer
Sanctions are a separate matter. The government's guidance says the United Kingdom's Syria sanctions remain in force for designated persons and for certain goods and services, and that transport measures exist without giving detail. We screen every passenger and every payer before a quote is confirmed. Before you sign anything, ask what happens to the booking if the flight cannot go. On this route it is the most useful single question, and the answer should be in writing.
How long does it take to fly to Syria?
The straight line from London Biggin Hill to Damascus is about 1,990 nautical miles, and the planned distance includes an allowance for the routing around the eastern Mediterranean. Syria keeps one time all year, three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and two hours ahead of British Summer Time. These are the sectors from London Biggin Hill on the lowest-priced aircraft that can fly them, gate to gate:
1,990 nautical miles planned, the only airport in Syria we would plan to, flown without a technical stopabout 4 h 45 min
2,047 nautical miles planned, the Jordanian fallback, about 109 nautical miles from Damascusabout 4 h 55 min
1,820 nautical miles planned, the Cypriot fallback, about 175 nautical miles from Damascusabout 4 h 25 min
Why the route is planned with care
The bulletin places the main risk in the south-western part of Syria and at lower levels, and Damascus lies in the south-west of the country. How an aircraft arrives and departs is therefore a question for the operator's flight planners, and it is agreed before a price is confirmed.
Satellite navigation interference is reported in the wider region, so crews plan conventional routes and ground-based approaches. That can lengthen a sector slightly, which is one reason we quote the planned distance and not the map distance.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Syria
Typical one-way prices from Britain to Damascus, cheapest first, for a flight that an operator has agreed to fly. A Praetor 600 covers the distance from London without landing, and the larger cabins in the table cost more for more space and more range. What these figures leave out
– Handling and landing charges at Damascus, the landing permit and the handler's fee for obtaining it are quoted on top. The figures are one-way and include the empty flight home;
– Insurance for the route may carry its own surcharge, and the operator decides whether it will fly at all. A price is a price for a flight that can be operated: if the operator or the insurer rules out Damascus for your date, the quote falls away, and we say so before any deposit is taken.
The fallback through Jordan or Cyprus
Some clients prefer to land in a neighbouring country and continue by a scheduled flight. Listings show Royal Jordanian flying between Amman and Damascus, and Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and several regional carriers flying into the Syrian capital, though we do not sell those seats and schedules change. From London Biggin Hill a Praetor 600 reaches Amman Queen Alia for about £33,300 and Larnaca for about £29,900, against about £32,450 for Damascus. The saving, where there is one, is modest. The point of the fallback is a landing at an airport with established private-aviation handling and a customs desk, and a decision about the last stage taken with the latest advice in hand.

Private jet flights within Syria and to neighbouring airports
There are no internal business flights to arrange. Scheduled airlines list services from Damascus and Aleppo, but we have not verified business aviation handling at any Syrian airport apart from the capital, and movement on the ground falls under the Foreign Office advice described higher up the page, with no consular support available in the country. The routes people ask about are the short regional ones from Damascus:
| Route | Aircraft | Flight time | Price, one way |
|---|---|---|---|

about 40 min | from £5,300 |

The figures show the scale of each hop and are not a firm price, because a regional leg is quoted by the operator who will fly it. Whether the aircraft that brings you from Britain may also carry you between two foreign airports is confirmed in writing for each trip, and where it may not, a local operator flies the regional leg.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.

If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Damascus:
Long range and ultra-long range
More range than the sector needs, which gives the crew margin for a diversion or a change of plan.
Large cabins
The right size for a party of ten or more, or a family travelling with luggage.
Mid-size and Praetor
The Praetor 600 is the lowest-priced aircraft we plan to Damascus from Britain without landing. The Latitude and the Challenger 350 also reach it with margin.
Light jets and turboprops
Not for the journey from Britain. They suit short hops from a neighbouring country, where the operator sets the rate.

Operators differ in what they accept for Syria, so we approach only those that have agreed to consider the route and tell you plainly when none will.

Business aviation airports for Syria: Damascus and the fallback gateways
A foreign aircraft can land only at the airport named in its permit, and the permit is the first document in the file. The first row is the single Syrian airport we would plan to. The next three are the airports on which a fallback is built, and the last row is there so that the picture is complete:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Damascus International OSDI / DAM |
about 30 km south-east of the city, linked by the M5 motorway, at 616 metres above sea level | The only airport in Syria we would plan to. Two parallel asphalt runways, 05R/23L and 05L/23R, each of about 3,600 metres. The field is shared with scheduled airlines, so ramp space can be limited at busy periods and private flights may need slot coordination and a handling agent. Handlers named for OSDI in the industry directories include Mixjet Flight Support, Jet Business Solutions and Skygate Aviation Services, and international trip-support companies arrange handling through vetted local agents. Opening hours, the customs and immigration arrangements for general aviation and the fuel position are confirmed with the authority and the handler for each date, and nothing is quoted before they are. Our price is built on this airport |
| Aleppo International OSAP / ALP |
in the north of the country, at 389 metres above sea level | A runway of 3,110 metres. Scheduled airlines list flights from Aleppo again. We have not verified business aviation handling, customs or fuel there, and we do not quote it |
| Amman Queen Alia OJAI / AMM |
about 30 km south of Amman, Jordan | The Jordanian fallback. Two runways of 3,660 metres, round-the-clock operation, customs, no slots required, handling mandatory. Royal Jordanian, based there, is listed on the Amman to Damascus sector |
| Larnaca LCA / LCLK |
on the south-east coast of Cyprus, about 175 nautical miles from Damascus | The Cypriot fallback. A runway of 2,994 metres, round-the-clock operation, customs and immigration inside the Skylink Executive Terminal, and slots on request. Handling is mandatory |
| Latakia, Qamishli and other airfields OSLK, OSKL, OSDZ, OSPR |
the coast, the north-east, the east and the centre | Listed in public references as civil and military or military fields, some shared with air bases. They are not business aviation airports for our purposes, and nothing is arranged at them |
A landing permit
Permits for Syria are obtained through the handler or a trip-support company from the Syrian civil aviation authority. Trip-support companies advise filing a standard trip 24 to 48 hours ahead, but no published figure binds the authority, and for a charter we apply as soon as the dates are fixed.
The road from the airport
The airfield lies outside the city and the motorway into Damascus is the usual way in. Movement on the ground falls under the Foreign Office advice against all travel, and consular support is not available in Syria.

Entering Syria: visa, passport and what to carry
The Foreign Office entry page applies to British citizens, and it opens with the statement that these requirements are for those who travel against its advice. These are the points that matter for a passenger arriving in Damascus:
British citizens must have a visa to travel to Syria. Applications and status checks go through the official Syrian e-visa website, and processing is listed at about five to seven days, which can vary. Entering illegally can lead to a fine or imprisonmentbefore departure
The passport must expire at least three months after the date of arrival. Entry is refused on an invalid document or a passport reported lost or stolenevery passenger
A passport that shows previous travel to Israel may lead to refusal of entry. Holders of Israeli or Iranian citizenship cannot enter Syriacheck the pages
Strict rules apply to goods taken in or out of the country. Declare anything that may be prohibited or subject to dutydeclare
Travel insurance could be invalidated by travel against the advice, and the British government cannot provide consular support from within Syria. Help from the Foreign Office is by telephone to Londonbefore you decide
The entry page does not cover drones, pets or private aircraft, so we confirm those with the handler before departure.
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, and British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation for Britain. A British passport or a certificate of entitlement is needed to return. The first landing must be at an aerodrome regulated for customs, because a landing at an unregulated one carries a fine of £2,500.

Flying to Syria with a dog or a cat
A trip whose plan may change at short notice is a hard one for an animal. If it travels, the paperwork has to be right on both sides, and the way home needs planning in the right order.
What Syria asks for on the way in
A relocation guide lists a rabies vaccination given between 30 days and 12 months before entry and a health certificate completed by a licensed vet just before travel, endorsed by the national animal authority of the country of departure. It says a microchip is not required for entry, and no import permit for a personal pet, and names Damascus airport as the entry point. Animals that do not meet the rules can be quarantined at the owner's cost, sent back or, in the worst case, destroyed.
That is a summary by a commercial source and not an official text, and rules for pets are rarely fixed for long, so the entry airport and the paperwork are confirmed in writing for your dates before the animal is booked. The microchip, which Syria does not demand, is required for the way home.
Syria is not on either of the lists of countries from which Britain accepts a pet on simpler terms. A dog or a cat coming home needs a Great Britain pet health certificate issued within 10 days of arrival and a rabies blood test taken at least 30 days after the vaccination, with a result of 0.5 IU/ml or higher from an approved laboratory, followed by a wait of three months from the sample date. A dog also needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival, and an animal that does not meet the rules can be quarantined for up to four months.
Other destinations, and the general rules for travelling with an animal on a private jet, are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a flight the operator has to make anyway, with the cabin vacant, and so it is priced low rather than flown for nothing. For Syria the choice is narrow, and for Damascus itself there is nothing to list.
Why empty legs to and from Damascus are scarce
– Few operators position to or from Damascus with an empty cabin, and each flight there is decided on its own risk assessment;
– An aircraft that delivers a party often waits for the return, and when it does not, the empty sector is usually the westbound one, which suits a client leaving more than one arriving;
– A landing permit goes with the date and the airport, so a leg that moves by a day can mean a revised permit.
Clients who offer a week instead of a day match most often. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. A selection of empty legs to and from the fallback gateways follows, at roughly 40 percent of a fresh charter:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Larnaca - UK (London Biggin Hill) | Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £12,550 |
| UK (Birmingham) - Amman | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £18,650 |
| UK (London Luton) - Larnaca | Falcon 900LX | 12 seats | £20,200 |
| UK (London Farnborough) - Larnaca | Gulfstream G450 | 13 seats | £21,250 |
| Amman - UK (London Luton) | Falcon 900LX | 12 seats | £22,500 |
| Amman - UK (Manchester) | Gulfstream G450 | 13 seats | £24,750 |
The price covers the whole aircraft, not a seat: a Gulfstream G450 from Amman to Manchester with six aboard comes to about £4,100 a head.

Helicopter charter
We do not arrange helicopter charter in Syria. We have not found a civil helicopter operator there that we can verify, and the regulators' wording covers low levels, where the risk is highest. A road transfer from the airport is the only arrangement we would plan, and it falls under the Foreign Office advice described higher up the page.

Flights from the UK to Syria
London sends most of the traffic on this route, with Birmingham, Manchester and the Scottish airfields behind it; the price table higher up covers thirteen pairings between Britain and Damascus. Our clients have access to all airports of the UK and Europe. Due to the unique partnership conditions, we can offer our clients the best prices for business aviation services. Our experts will consult you on the availability of private jets in a particular city and help you choose the best option.

Charters to Syria from the booking notes: six typical trips
The six trips below are typical jobs assembled from booking notes with the details changed, so none of them is one named client or one date.
DAMASCUS · A FAMILY VISIT
Two adults and one child visiting relatives for ten days
London Biggin Hill - Damascus, Praetor 600 nonstop, about 4 h 45 min · 3 pax
The family read the Foreign Office page before they asked for a price, and the visas were applied for through the official website well ahead of the dates.
DAMASCUS · A SHORT BUSINESS TRIP
A delegation of six with one night on the ground
London Farnborough - Damascus, Gulfstream G450 nonstop, about 4 h 45 min · 6 pax
The operator accepted the route only after its own risk assessment, and the aircraft flew home the next morning.
AMMAN · THE FALLBACK
A party that wanted a predictable arrival
London Biggin Hill - Amman Queen Alia, Praetor 600 nonstop, about 4 h 55 min · 3 pax
They landed in Jordan, spent a night, and arranged the last stage themselves once they had read the latest advice.
A BOOKING THAT WAS RE-PLANNED
A client whose dates moved when a bulletin was revised
London Luton - Damascus re-planned as London Luton - Amman · 5 pax
The operator revised its risk assessment after the bulletin was reissued, so the flight to Damascus did not go ahead on the original date. The party flew to Amman instead and decided about the last stage there.
PETS · A DOG ON A LONG VISIT
A relocation with one dog by way of Cyprus
London Farnborough - Larnaca, Gulfstream G450 nonstop, about 4 h 20 min · 2 pax and one dog
The Cyprus paperwork came first, the Syrian entry paperwork was confirmed in writing, and the way home needed a blood test taken months before.
EMPTY LEG · HOMEWARD FROM AMMAN
A flexible return after a long stay
Amman - London Luton, Falcon 900LX empty leg, about 5 h · 5 pax
Offering a week in place of a date is what made this one work. The client paid about £22,500, roughly 40 percent of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Syria
1Can a private jet from the UK fly to Damascus?
It can be enquired about, case by case. Damascus International is the only Syrian airport we would plan to. The Foreign Office advises against all travel to Syria, the European safety agency asks operators to avoid parts of the airspace and to stay above flight level 260 in the rest, and each operator and its insurers decide for themselves whether they accept the route. A landing permit is also needed.
2What does the Foreign Office say about travel to Syria?
It advises against all travel to Syria, citing unpredictable security conditions and the threat of terrorist attacks. Consular support is not available from the British government from within Syria, and travel insurance could be invalidated by travel against the advice.
3How much does a private jet to Damascus cost?
From about £32,450 one way from London Biggin Hill to Damascus on a Praetor 600, nonstop, for a flight that an operator has agreed to fly. Amman Queen Alia costs about £33,300 and Larnaca about £29,900 on the same aircraft. Handling, the landing permit and airport charges are quoted on top.
4How long does the flight take?
About 4 hours 45 minutes from London Biggin Hill to Damascus in a Praetor 600, and about 4 hours 55 minutes to Amman. Syria is three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time all year.
5What do British citizens need to enter Syria?
A visa obtained in advance through the official Syrian e-visa website, with processing listed at about five to seven days, and a passport that expires at least three months after arrival. A passport that shows travel to Israel may lead to refusal of entry.
6Can my dog or cat travel with me?
Yes, with planning. Syria lists a rabies vaccination between 30 days and 12 months before entry and a vet's health certificate endorsed by the animal authority, and names Damascus as the entry airport. Coming home, Britain treats Syria as an unlisted country, so a microchip, a rabies blood test and a three-month wait apply. We confirm the paperwork in writing before the flight.
