Private jet charter in Stuttgart
A light jet that leaves a London-area airfield after an early breakfast reaches the Filder plateau in about an hour and a half, which is why Stuttgart suits the client who wants to sit at a Mercedes or Porsche table before lunch and be home for dinner. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around the airport's night rules, the fair and festival dates and the length of the stay. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Stuttgart is easy to reach and strict about the clock. The airport shuts its night to jets, so the useful decisions are the departure time, the date against the fair and festival calendar, and the size of the cabin.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Stuttgart depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Stuttgart?
An hour and a half from Biggin Hill in a light jet, about two hours from Edinburgh or Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference to remember on arrival, because Germany keeps Central European time. At 404 to 686 nautical miles this is a short sector by any measure: no one needs a heavy cabin to make it, and the question is rarely range but how many people and how many bags. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave Biggin Hill at seven and the wheels touch the long runway on the Filder plateau about half past nine local time. The airport lies about 13 km from the city centre and a car takes 20 to 30 minutes on the A8, so a client who left central London at half past five can be at a factory-district table before eleven. Add the drive to the British airfield and the short processing at both ends and the whole journey from central London to central Stuttgart comes to about three and a half hours.
Light jet or midsize: what decides it on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer. At an hour and a half in a Citation CJ3+ the cabin is no hardship, and a Citation XLS+ on the same sector from Biggin Hill is priced about £1,600 higher one way;
– Past that, or with a sample case, plant-visit paperwork, a dog or a week of luggage for a fair, we quote a midsize jet beside it so you see both figures. Delegations usually carry more than the passenger list suggests, and the hold decides;
– Heavy aircraft only make sense for a large party travelling as one group, or when Stuttgart is the first stop of a longer European loop rather than the destination itself.

Private jet flights from Stuttgart
Stuttgart sits in the middle of the south-west, so the first onward sectors are short and the longer ones go north to the capitals or south to the sun. Lake Constance and the Black Forest are a turboprop hop, Zurich, Frankfurt and Munich are well under an hour away, and Nice or Palma are a midsize sector away. Typical one-way prices:

Short hops: when the aircraft is the wrong answer
Frankfurt is only 88 nautical miles from Stuttgart and Zurich 82, and sectors that short rarely repay the aircraft. Motorway and rail serve the same cities, and the Stuttgart region lies about 160 km from Frankfurt and 190 km from Munich. The jet earns its fee when a long-haul connection waits at the far end, when the party is large, or when the aircraft stays with you for a second stop. For a plain city-to-city run we will say so and quote the road.
Before you accept an onward quote from Stuttgart
– The departure time against the night rules. Jets may not take off after 23:00 and may not land after 23:30, and a dinner that runs late is the usual reason a quote changes on the day;
– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Stuttgart to Zurich to Nice arranged as one trip usually costs less than three separate quotes, because the crew and aircraft stay with you instead of repositioning each time.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Stuttgart:
Light jets, and where most bookings land
At an hour and a half this is the sensible class for four or five people with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range for Stuttgart, and the 3,345 m runway is far longer than any of them needs, so the money goes on the hour and not on capability you will not use.
Midsize, for plant-visit paperwork and a longer stay
Sample cases, presentation kit and a week of fair luggage are what push a party past the light-jet hold, and the extra cabin height helps on the Scottish and northern sectors.
Super-midsize and large
For a board travelling as one party, for a team that needs to work in the air, and for trips that carry on from Stuttgart to the Mediterranean or beyond instead of turning round.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the short onward legs to Friedrichshafen, Baden-Baden, Zurich or Frankfurt: each is about half an hour in the air, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a factory site on the far side of the Neckar valley, a lakeside villa or a meeting that cannot wait for the motorway. German rules on where a helicopter may put down are strict, so the site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Stuttgart sits between the Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich fleets, so for a booking that is not in the week of a fair or the Volksfest there is usually an aircraft within an hour of the Filder plateau, and that is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Stuttgart
One airport does nearly all of the work, and it is the main airport of the region. The others matter for particular trips, and it helps to know them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Stuttgart Airport STR / EDDS |
The answer for almost every trip. It lies on the Filder plateau, about 13 km south of the city centre, with a single concrete runway, 07/25, of 3,345 m. Business aircraft use the General Aviation Terminal, a private terminal apart from the commercial building, run by Kurz Aviation Service according to the directories we use, with lounges, a crew room and its own apron. Customs and immigration are on site. The airport is slot coordinated, so a slot is needed, and the night rules for jets are strict, as described below |
| Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Baden Airpark FKB / EDSB |
A 3,120 m runway at Rheinmünster, about 85 km west of Stuttgart in a straight line and roughly 110 km by road to the city. Customs is on site and slots are not required. Its day is shorter than Stuttgart's, with a published weekday close at 22:00, so it suits a trip that is half Black Forest and half Swabia rather than a late return from a Stuttgart dinner |
| Friedrichshafen, Bodensee Airport FDH / EDNY |
Lake Constance's airport, about 3 km north of Friedrichshafen on the lakeshore, with a 2,356 m runway. The Messe Friedrichshafen exhibition centre stands just north of the runway. It is the sensible landing for a client whose business is in Friedrichshafen or on the lake, about 115 km from Stuttgart in a straight line and about two and a quarter hours by road. We confirm customs and hours for the date before quoting |
| Munich MUC / EDDM |
About 190 km east of Stuttgart. A hub airport, and a reason to use it only when the trip is really half Bavaria and not as a stand-in for Stuttgart |
| Frankfurt Main FRA / EDDF |
About 160 km north of Stuttgart. A night flight ban applies, and it is a reason to use it only when Frankfurt is the real destination or when an onward long-haul connection is waiting there |
Four points settle most Stuttgart arrivals:
Choose the handler
Business aircraft are dealt with at the General Aviation Terminal, which offers a private reception, security and passport control inside the building, ground power, fuelling and de-icing, and chauffeur and car hire through the handlers. Directories list more than one ground handler on the field. We confirm who is handling you before the quote and give the driver the terminal, not simply the airport.
Hours, slots and the night rules
Civil jets may not take off between 23:00 and 06:00 and may not land between 23:30 and 06:00. A delayed jet can land until midnight if its schedule showed an arrival before 23:30, and propeller aircraft, helicopters and flights with an individual permit are treated differently. The airport is slot coordinated. A late departure after a dinner is the thing to plan around, and we confirm the rule that applies to your aircraft in writing.
Border and passport
Germany is in Schengen and Britain is not, so passport control and customs are done on arrival. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years before arrival and valid for at least three months after departure. Flying home, a General Aviation Report is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure.
Car and the last 13 km
The drive from the apron to the city centre is 20 to 30 minutes by car, and the S-Bahn also serves the airport. Give us the address of the meeting as well as the flight, because the car is often needed for a plant site in a district or a satellite town and not for the middle of town. On Volksfest and fair days put the car in the quote from the start.

Border, passport and the Lake Constance option
The simplest arrival is the one at Stuttgart itself: you land at the General Aviation Terminal, the passports are checked inside the building, and the car is at the door. The other option is for the client whose real destination is the lake. If the first appointment is in Friedrichshafen and we have confirmed customs there for your date, land there and not at Stuttgart, because the formalities are done at the first German airport and the road afterwards is inside Schengen without a border stop.

From the apron to the Schlossplatz
Stuttgart has about 613,000 residents, sits at around 245 metres in a basin ringed by hills, vineyards and parks, and is the capital of Baden-Württemberg. It calls itself the cradle of the automobile, and the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the Porsche Museum stand in the city. The Schlossplatz is the central square, the Wilhelma zoological and botanical garden is a standard visit and the television tower is described as the first of its kind in concrete. The distances that matter for a visitor run outward, to the factory districts, to the lake and to the Black Forest.
about 13 km by road, and the reason a private client lands on the plateau and not in town20 to 30 minutes
a directory gives about 27 minutes on the lines S2 and S3; check the timetable on the dayabout half an hour
about 110 km by roadabout 1 hour
about 150 km by road, or a little over two hours by trainabout 2 h 15 min
Frankfurt lies about 160 km away and Munich about 190 kmunder 40 minutes by turboprop
What private clients do here is mostly business with a motor-racing accent. Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Bosch, Mahle, Würth and Trumpf are among the global headquarters of the region, according to the regional reference, and the Stuttgart Stock Exchange is described as the second largest in Germany. A supplier meeting in the morning, a plant tour after lunch and a museum visit for the guests who came along is an ordinary programme, and the factories are scattered across the districts and the satellite towns, which is why the car matters more here than in a compact old town.
The Messe Stuttgart exhibition grounds moved to a site directly next to the airport, so a fair guest steps from the terminal almost to the hall. The region's other attractions are those of a prosperous wine country: vineyards that reach into the city, the Neckar valley and the cities of Esslingen and Ludwigsburg, each with its own Christmas market. A business day that ends with dinner in the old town and a flight home the same night is common, and for that one the night rules are the thing to watch.
Flying to Stuttgart with a dog or a cat
Germany asks for more paperwork than the flight takes, and the flight is short enough that most animals sleep through it. The animal sits beside you in the cabin with no hold involved. What matters is that the certificate is dated correctly, because it has a ten-day life from the day it is issued.

What Germany asks for:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or on the same day, never after it;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before entry;
- An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, issued no more than ten days before the animal enters the EU, and valid for the return as stated on the certificate;
- No more than five animals per traveller, presented at the first point of entry into the EU, which the handler coordinates at the terminal;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before the return flight to Britain, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Stuttgart run
– The tapeworm treatment is for the way home, not the way out, so it is a vet appointment you book in Stuttgart itself, towards the end of the stay. The 24 to 120 hour window is tight on a short business trip, and a flight home that must leave before 23:00 leaves little room to fix a missed appointment;
– A GB pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU. The certificate has to be a fresh one for each trip, and a dog whose rabies vaccination lapses while it is away loses the right to come back on it;
– If the dog is coming to a hotel or a lakeside house, settle the accommodation and any helicopter transfer before the quote, because a hotel has to accept the animal and a rotary operator has to agree to it separately. Back in Britain, we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Stuttgart calendar: a fair city with a fondness for beer tents
Stuttgart works all year, and the peaks come from two directions: the trade-fair and corporate diary on weekdays, and a set of popular festivals that fill the hotels at weekends. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a Volksfest week costs more
Not the flying. The fleet around Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich is large and Stuttgart sits comfortably inside it. What gets tight is the slot at a coordinated airport, hotel rooms and good cars, all in the same few days, and the fixed end of the day: every guest wants the last evening out, then a departure before 23:00. A booking made a fortnight before the Volksfest or a large fair can still be done, but it pays more and may use an aircraft positioned from another country. The same booking made four or five weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper, and outside those weeks a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Stuttgart price down
- Move the dates a few days where you can. The weeks between the Volksfest and the Christmas market, and the first half of the year outside the fair weeks, are calm;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich or Friedrichshafen takes less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful share of the bill;
- Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved buys the car and the hotel;
- Leave the city with room to spare. A departure at six or seven in the evening avoids the night rules altogether and the question of what happens if the dinner runs on.
Types of flights
Stuttgart produces a different mix from the capital cities we cover, because the city is an industrial centre first, with a taste for festivals second.
- Automotive and supplier business, with a morning at a plant in the city or a satellite town and a return the same evening;
- Trade-fair travel to the Messe next to the airport, often by small teams that need their own schedule;
- Delegation visits to the machine-tool and engineering firms of the Mittelstand, many of them in small towns outside the city;
- Combined trips with Lake Constance or the Black Forest, landing at Friedrichshafen or Baden-Baden and finishing in Stuttgart, or the other way round;
- Festival and Christmas market weekends, many of them with a dog;
- Motoring weekends built around the two car museums.
The day trip is worth a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it usually still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Leaving Biggin Hill at seven and being back in Britain by early evening is realistic, and on this route we quote the day trip both ways so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Stuttgart route they come from the rhythm of the corporate week and the festival weekends, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Stuttgart empty legs come from
– Trade-fair weeks. Aircraft bring delegations in on the Monday and leave empty on the Thursday or Friday, and that return leg is the one most often offered, provided it leaves before the evening rules apply;
– Corporate days. A plant visit that finishes at lunch frees the aircraft, which then goes back to its base empty in the afternoon;
– The Christmas market season. Short weekend stays fill the aircraft one way, and the return to the base is released as an empty leg.
Because the Stuttgart corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Stuttgart match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Stuttgart a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip. The city is hemmed in by hills and the airport is a short drive, so the places where rotary flight changes the day are the lake, the Black Forest and the factory site that is a long way from any runway. The airport itself has a helipad.
a hop west towards the Black Forest, against about 110 km by road between the two townsabout 84 km direct
the direct line to the lake, against about 150 km by roadabout 115 km direct
the distance a helicopter shortens when a long-haul connection waitsabout 156 km direct
the motorway alternative for a party in a hurryabout 192 km direct
possible only with the landowner and the aviation authority both agreeingsite approval first
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter in Germany cannot land wherever it likes. Take-off and landing outside an approved airfield need both the landowner's consent and a permit from the aviation authority under the Air Traffic Act, so a factory pad or a private garden has its status confirmed before we quote, not after;
– Weather sets the schedule. Low cloud on the Swabian Jura or over the lake can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– Twin-engine machines are the sensible minimum on any route across higher ground. For the Volksfest weeks and the large fairs, book the helicopter together with the jet or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for lake and Black Forest work, the wider H130 for villa transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Wheels up at seven, on the ground about half past nine local time, in the plant by half past ten and back at Biggin Hill well before the evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the General Aviation Terminal rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and usually still comes in below two separate one-way charters. The return left in the afternoon, long before the night rules mattered.
TRADE FAIR · THE LUGGAGE BOOKED THE CABIN
Six people, display kit and a week at the Messe
Farnborough - Stuttgart, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 30 min · 6 pax
Product samples and stand material took the hold well beyond what a light jet carries comfortably, so the quote moved up a class for the luggage and not for the seats. The dates were set by the fair, the booking went in five weeks ahead, and the car took the party to the hall in minutes.
VOLKSFEST WEEK · A DEPARTURE BEFORE THE CLOSE
A hosting group for the autumn festival
London Luton - Stuttgart, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 35 min · 6 pax
The group wanted one more evening in the beer tent and a flight home the same night. The airport's rules for jets were the limit, so the departure was set for the afternoon and the dinner moved to a lunch. It is the kind of detail a quote should state, and ours did.
LAKE AND CITY · TWO AIRPORTS
A board meeting in Stuttgart and a weekend on the lake
Manchester - Stuttgart, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 45 min · 5 pax
The party landed at Stuttgart, finished the meeting by lunch and moved on by turboprop to Friedrichshafen for the weekend. The aircraft that brought them from Manchester went home empty, and the booking was priced as one trip with the second sector added.
CHRISTMAS MARKET · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a December weekend
Southampton - Stuttgart, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 30 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Stuttgart for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and everything was settled in a single exchange of messages.
EMPTY LEG · FRIDAY AFTERNOON WEST
A jet already going your way
Stuttgart - London Luton, Citation CJ3+ empty leg, about 1 h 35 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a delegation in on the Monday and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Friday afternoon departure well ahead of the airport's night rules.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Stuttgart
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Stuttgart?
About 1 hour 30 minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, and around 1 hour 35 minutes from Luton or Farnborough, covering roughly 400 to 430 nautical miles. From Birmingham or Bristol allow about 1 hour 35 to 1 hour 40, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours. Stuttgart is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure from Biggin Hill lands about half past nine local time.
2How much does a private jet to Stuttgart cost?
From about £6,400 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, £6,450 from London City and £6,750 from Luton. A Phenom 300E from Southampton, Birmingham or Bristol runs £7,000 to £7,700, and from Scotland allow £14,500 to £15,000. The Volksfest weeks, the Christmas market weekends and the big trade fairs price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Stuttgart?
Stuttgart (STR / EDDS) for almost every trip. It is about 13 km south of the city centre, has a 3,345 m runway and a separate General Aviation Terminal, and customs is on site. Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (FKB / EDSB) is the alternative about 85 km away if the stay is split with the Black Forest, and Friedrichshafen (FDH / EDNY) serves Lake Constance.
4Can a private jet land at Stuttgart late in the evening?
Within limits. Civil jets may not take off between 23:00 and 06:00 and may not land between 23:30 and 06:00. A delayed jet can still land until midnight if it was scheduled to arrive before 23:30, and flights with an individual permit from the aviation authority are an exception. We plan the return well before those times and confirm in writing what applies to your aircraft.
5When should I book a private jet to Stuttgart?
Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the Volksfest in late September and early October, the Christmas market weekends from late November, and the weeks of a large fair at the Messe next to the airport, allow four to five weeks. The airport is slot coordinated, so a slot that suits your event is worth securing early.
6Can I take my dog to Stuttgart on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you. Germany asks for a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older with 21 days elapsed, and an Animal Health Certificate issued within ten days of entry. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
