Private jet charter in Paraguay
A landlocked country in the heart of South America sits almost exactly 5,700 nautical miles from the south of England, and no ocean-crossing jet gets there without planning the fuel. Few clients know the country well, so the first call is usually about practicalities: which aircraft can fly it nonstop, which airport clears the party, and what the authorities want to see. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Paraguay that includes the overflight permit from the national civil aviation authority and a handler who knows the shared civil and military airport at Asunción.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Paraguay depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Farnborough, a Gulfstream G550 to Asunción Silvio Pettirossi, nonstop, and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Paraguay?
Paraguay keeps UTC-3 all year and no longer changes its clocks, so Asunción is three hours behind Britain in winter and four hours behind while British Summer Time runs. These are the sectors from London Farnborough on a Gulfstream G550, gate to gate:
5,511 nautical miles, the border town in the north-east, on the Brazilian lineabout 11 h 15 min
5,633 nautical miles, the commercial city on the Brazilian border, near the Itaipú damabout 11 h 30 min
5,700 nautical miles, the capital and the airport behind nearly every itineraryabout 11 h 40 min
5,757 nautical miles, the southern gateway to the Jesuit ruins, the farthest of the groupabout 11 h 45 min
Landing at teatime, leaving after dinner
A take-off from Farnborough at 08:00 reaches Asunción at about 15:40 local time in the British summer and at about 16:40 in winter, which leaves the evening for the hotel and a full night before the first meeting. The return runs the other way: leave Asunción at 21:00, sleep on board, and the aircraft is on the ground in Britain at about 12:40 the next day in summer and 11:40 in winter.
Nearly twelve hours in the air is a long duty day for two pilots, so the operator often adds a third crew member.
The order of the airports is not the order of the map. Pedro Juan Caballero is 189 nautical miles nearer than Asunción and saves about 25 min in the air, while Encarnación is 57 nautical miles farther and adds about 5 min, so a Paraguayan quote always names the airport before the aircraft. The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet and on the wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Paraguay
Typical private jet charter prices from Britain into Paraguay, cheapest first. The price on this page is built on Asunción Silvio Pettirossi, the airport where a business jet is handled, cleared and fuelled. Ciudad del Este lies slightly nearer to Britain and is about £1,800 cheaper from Farnborough on a G550, Pedro Juan Caballero about £5,150 cheaper, but those savings rarely justify giving up the capital's handling:

Two things worth knowing about these figures
– Range picks the aircraft. A Gulfstream G550 is published at 6,750 nautical miles, and Farnborough to Asunción is 5,700 on our planned track, which leaves a margin of 1,050 for a headwind. A Global 6000 would leave only 300, so we do not quote it, and from Stansted and the northern airfields we quote the G650ER. The price is for the trip out; a return with the aircraft waiting in Asunción is quoted as two sectors plus parking.
Private jet flights within Paraguay and to its neighbours
Paraguay is small by South American standards. Ciudad del Este is 152 nautical miles from Asunción on our track, Encarnación is 156, and Pedro Juan Caballero is 189. These are the sectors we are asked for, flown from Asunción, with the neighbouring cities that clients combine with a Paraguayan trip:

Two limits on the internal sectors
– The smaller fields are not business aviation airports. Pedro Juan Caballero lists only aviation petrol, and at Encarnación, Concepción and Filadelfia customs, handling and fuel cannot be assumed. The operator confirms in writing who meets the aircraft and where it is fuelled.
– A hop to Foz do Iguaçu, Buenos Aires, São Paulo or Santa Cruz needs permission from each country involved, and the party clears immigration at the other end.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Paraguay:
Ultra-long range
The classes that cross from Britain without a stop. The G550 is the working choice, the G650ER adds margin from northern airfields, and the Global 7500 has the longest published range.
Heavy jets
Large cabins that reach Paraguay with a planned stop, and inside the region suit the longer sectors to Buenos Aires, São Paulo or Santiago.
Super-midsize
The class behind most internal and regional legs from Asunción, under an hour to Ciudad del Este and about two hours to Buenos Aires or São Paulo.
Light jets
For Concepción, Pedro Juan Caballero and other short hops with four to six people.
Turboprops
For short regional work, including the Chaco airfields, not for the journey from London.

Because a long-range jet is expensive by the hour, a Paraguayan quote often lets the big aircraft wait while a smaller jet flies the internal legs, and says plainly which flies which sector.

Business aviation airports in Paraguay
Paraguay has one airport that matters for a foreign business jet, Asunción, and a second, Ciudad del Este, for parties going east. What separates them is customs status, fuel and handling, more than runway length:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Asunción Silvio Pettirossi ASU / SGAS |
in Luque, about 10 km from central Asunción | The airport for almost every business jet. A single asphalt runway, 02/20, of 3,353 metres at about 90 metres above sea level, with ILS and VOR/DME approaches and a control tower listed as open round the clock. It is a listed airport of entry, slots are listed as not required and handling as not mandatory, although we book a handler for every landing. Consorcio Aviation, Royal FBO Service and Arsot Flight Support are the handlers and suppliers listed, with Pike Aviation shown as supervising agent. Part of the airfield is shared with an air force base. Published airport hours differ between sources, one showing 07:00 to 15:00 local and another round the clock, so we confirm the hours for your arrival. |
| Ciudad del Este Guaraní AGT / SGES |
in Minga Guazú, about 25 km from Ciudad del Este | Paraguay's second international airport, with one asphalt runway, 05/23, of 3,400 metres at about 260 metres above sea level. It has become a freight airport for the free-trade zone, and scheduled passenger flights have almost disappeared. It is a listed airport of entry open round the clock, slots are not required, jet fuel is listed, and Royal FBO Service and Arsot Flight Support are the handlers shown. It suits a party going to Itaipú or the Iguazú region. |
| Pedro Juan Caballero Dr Augusto Roberto Fuster PJC / SGPJ |
on the border with Brazil, in the department of Amambay | An asphalt runway, 03/21, of about 1,800 metres at about 565 metres above sea level. It is listed as an airport of entry, hours 07:00 to 15:00 local, with no handler named. Only aviation petrol is listed, so a jet should not count on fuel here. The field serves the cattle and soya country of the north-east. |
| Encarnación Teniente Amin Ayub Gonzalez ENO / SGEN |
serving Encarnación and the department of Itapúa | The airport of the south, near the Jesuit ruins. We have no confirmed information on customs, handling or fuel, so a foreign aircraft arrives after clearance at Asunción and the field is treated as a domestic destination. |
| Concepción and Filadelfia CIO / SGCO and FLM / SGFI |
Concepción on the Paraguay River; Filadelfia in the Chaco | Regional airfields for the northern river port and the Chaco colonies. We have no confirmed handling, fuel or customs data, so they are arranged case by case. |
Five points settle most trips before a quote goes out:
The permit
The overflight permit comes from the Paraguayan civil aviation authority, and one handler guide lists it as valid for 72 hours with no official fee. Permit agencies recommend about 72 hours of notice, and the flight plan must reach air traffic control at least two hours before entry. We plan on the longer figure.
Landing permission
Landing permit requirements are listed only as to be advised, so the operator and the handler confirm them for each flight, together with the overflight application.
Documents
The usual set is the registration, airworthiness and insurance certificates and, where it applies, the noise certificate, with a crew list and a passenger list.
Office hours
The authority is listed as working from 10:30 to 16:00 UTC, which is 07:30 to 13:00 in Paraguay, a narrow window for a late change.
Fuel and crew
Jet A-1 comes through the handler's supplier network against a fuel release, so fuel is requested with the permit and not on the day. Crew can be given a visa on arrival, usually valid for up to 72 hours.
Arriving from Britain: passports, customs and what to carry
Paraguay is outside the European Union and the Schengen area, and the entry rules for a British citizen are short. Immigration and customs are cleared at an airport of entry, and for a private flight that means Asunción or Ciudad del Este.
The passport should be valid for the whole of the stay. A British citizen needs no visa for tourismevery passenger, children included
Visitors normally receive 90 days on arrival, and an extension of a further 90 days has to be asked of Paraguayan Immigration. Work and study need a separate visa from the Paraguayan embassy in Britaincheck the stamp
An immigration officer must stamp, date and sign the passport on arrival, and a traveller without the stamp is fined on leavingkeep the passport to hand
Crew named on the general declaration can be given a visa on arrival, usually valid for up to 72 hours. A passenger who does need a visa has to get it before departurelisted by the handler
Paraguay has strict rules on goods. Anything that may be prohibited or dutiable must be declared, and so must cash or travellers' cheques worth 10,000 US dollars or more, online in advance or at the airportdeclared at the desk
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required of travellers arriving from a country on the transmission-risk list, which matters if the jet positions through such a country. The NHS TravelHealthPro guide for Paraguay covers vaccines and other medical advicecheck before you fly
Permits, security and the way home
We suggest reading the FCDO travel advice for Paraguay before you book.
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and most other nationalities do.

Which airport for which part of Paraguay
The arrival airport follows from one address: the office in Asunción, the dam on the Paraná, the ranch in the north-east. These are the usual pairings:
The capital stands on the east bank of the Paraguay River, with about 460,000 people in the city and roughly two and a half million in the metropolitan area. The airport is in Luque, about 10 km away, where CONMEBOL, the South American football confederation, has its headquartersAsunción Silvio Pettirossi
The second city, a trading centre on the Brazilian border, with the Itaipú dam to the north and Iguazú Falls nearby on the Brazilian and Argentine side. The airport is about 25 km out of townCiudad del Este Guaraní, or Asunción and a short hop
The southern city on the Paraná River, and the nearest town to the Jesuit ruins of Trinidad and Jesús de Tavarangue, which are on the river's north bank about 10 km apartEncarnación after clearance at Asunción
Pedro Juan Caballero is the centre of the cattle and soya country on the Brazilian linePedro Juan Caballero
The western half of the country, roughly 60 percent of the territory and under 4 percent of the population, with cattle ranches and the Mennonite colonies around Filadelfia. Concepción is the river port to the northFiladelfia or Concepción, case by case
Asunción, Itaipú and the missions: what our clients go for
Paraguay is an agricultural economy with a very large power station attached. It is the sixth-largest producer of soya and the ninth-largest exporter of beef in the world, and a good share of our trips are the business meetings that follow from that: ranch owners, grain traders, machinery suppliers and the bankers who finance them. Asunción holds the central bank, the stock exchange and the major banks. A stay of two or three nights, with the aircraft held at the airport or sent home empty, is the common shape.
Itaipú is the other reason to come. The dam on the Paraná, shared with Brazil, has 20 generating units of 700 megawatts each, a capacity of 14 gigawatts, and stands 196 metres high. Paraguay's share produces more than the country uses, and most of it is sold to Brazil. Delegations reach it through the airport at Ciudad del Este.
Asunción rewards a day of walking. The city was founded in 1537 and is known as the Mother of Cities. The Costanera park runs along the river between the Palacio de los López, the seat of the president, and the cathedral. The Manzana de la Rivera is a block of nine houses, the oldest from the 1750s.
The south has the missions. La Santísima Trinidad de Paraná is the best preserved of the Jesuit settlements in the country, with its church, school and cemeteries, and Jesús de Tavarangue, about 10 km away, survives as ruins. Both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Paraguayan year: heat, dry winters and the cold winds
Paraguay is humid subtropical, and the calendar is simple. Summer is hot and long, winter is mild with the odd frost, and the Chaco is far drier than the east:
warm winds blow in from the Amazon and the heat builds. January is the hottest month, with an average near 29 °C in Asunción and afternoons that can pass 40 °C.hot season
the dry season in Asunción, with cold winds from the Andes between May and August. July is the driest month and averages about 17 °Ccool and dry
frost is possible somewhere in the country, and the capital's record low is just below freezing. The east gets about 170 cm of rain a year, and the Chaco under 50 cmwinter
Weather and the aircraft
Heat matters to a jet as much as to a guest. Hot air reduces the take-off weight, which is one more reason to leave Asunción for Britain in the evening.
The Paraguayan calendar: Expo in July and Caacupé in December
The dated events are few, and two of them dominate:
Why Expo and Caacupé need early booking
The Expo weeks fill the hotels and the handlers' diaries at Asunción, and the Caacupé feast puts a large crowd on the road between the capital and the town. A request for either should go to the operator as soon as the dates are fixed.

Flying to Paraguay with a dog or a cat
A dog or cat travelling with its owner can enter Paraguay without quarantine if the paperwork is right, and the work lies in the timetable. Pets must enter through Silvio Pettirossi airport, and the airport veterinary officials should be told in advance, so for a private flight we confirm the airport, the inspector and the paperwork in writing.
The one fact to read before you book
The certificate is a British one. An official vet signs the export health certificate for cats and dogs to Paraguay after an examination made no more than 96 hours before export. The rabies vaccination must have been given at least 30 days and no more than 12 months before export, and the owner declares that the animal has lived in Britain for at least six months or since birth. The signed certificate then goes to the Paraguayan embassy in London to be registered and legalised, which is a step that takes days and cannot be done at the airport.
The way home is the harder half. Paraguay is not on the list of countries with relaxed rules, so the animal returns on a Great Britain pet health certificate, and a rabies blood test is required with a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml, taken at least 30 days after the vaccination. Entry to Britain is not allowed until three months after the date of the sample, and a dog also needs tapeworm treatment from a vet 24 to 120 hours before landing.
- A 15-digit ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination, which the return to Britain requires and Paraguay lists as well, and a wait of at least 21 full days after the vaccination;
- Treatment against internal and external parasites, tapeworm in particular, before entry, recorded on the certificate or in a separate record;
- A rabies vaccination certificate attached to the health certificate, with the chip number on every document.
The three-month count is the point. A weekend with a pet in Paraguay does not work unless the blood sample was taken three months before the return, so we build the timetable backwards from the landing in Britain. The heat is the second factor: a flat-faced breed or an old animal needs a vet's opinion before a Paraguayan summer.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Paraguayan run there are few of them, because few aircraft can make the crossing.
Where Paraguayan empty legs come from
– A long-range jet that flew a party out to Asunción and returns to Britain without passengers, which is the commonest leg and the one most often offered;
– A jet repositioning to Asunción for a booking that starts there or in a neighbouring country, which turns the outbound crossing into a bargain for anyone who can leave on the operator's date.
A client who can offer a window of several weeks has a far better chance of a match, though a leg can disappear when the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. A selection of Paraguayan empty legs follows:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paraguay (Asunción ASU) - UK (London Farnborough) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £67,450 |
| UK (Belfast) - Paraguay (Asunción ASU) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £67,450 |
| UK (London Gatwick) - Paraguay (Asunción ASU) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £67,600 |
| Paraguay (Asunción ASU) - UK (Birmingham) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £67,650 |
| UK (London Biggin Hill) - Paraguay (Asunción ASU) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £67,750 |
| UK (London Luton) - Paraguay (Asunción ASU) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £67,850 |
| Paraguay (Asunción ASU) - UK (Manchester) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £67,950 |
| Paraguay (Asunción ASU) - UK (Edinburgh) | Gulfstream G650ER | 14 seats | £77,600 |
How to read those figures
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A G550 home from Asunción to Farnborough with sixteen seats comes to about £4,200 a head, on a cabin that is large for the money. Set it beside the same sector in the first table: the saving is large, and a month of flexibility is the minimum worth offering.

Helicopter charter
Helicopter work in Paraguay is arranged case by case, and we do not publish a standing price list for it. Availability depends on which machine can be positioned, and the heat of a Paraguayan afternoon reduces what a helicopter can lift. The transfers clients ask about are short:
the basilica town of the December pilgrimage, a straight-line distance of 23 nautical milesabout 20 min
a straight-line distance of 166 nautical miles, which a jet to Ciudad del Este covers in less time and with a wider cabinabout 1 h 35 min
The times are straight-line estimates at a cruise of about 115 knots, and the operator confirms the helicopter type, the route and the landing site for your date. Weather, wind and the load decide the rest. We confirm landing permission at the destination before the quote is issued, because a private landing site in a city, on a dam or near a shrine is never assumed.

Flights from the UK to Paraguay
Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Gatwick and Luton send most of the traffic on this corridor, with Stansted, Birmingham and Manchester behind them and Scotland and the north of England at the long end; the price table higher up covers thirteen of those pairings. Our clients have access to all airports of the UK and Europe. Due to the unique partnership conditions, we can offer our clients the best prices for business aviation services. Our experts will consult you on the availability of private jets in a particular city and help you choose the best option.

4Do I need a visa to fly to Paraguay on a private jet?
A British citizen needs no visa for tourism and normally receives 90 days on arrival. The passport should be valid for the whole stay and must be stamped by an immigration officer on arrival, because a traveller without a stamp is fined on leaving. Cash worth 10,000 US dollars or more has to be declared.
5What permits does a private flight to Paraguay need?
The operator requests an overflight permit from the Paraguayan civil aviation authority, which one handler guide lists as valid for 72 hours, and confirms landing permission with the handler. Permit agencies recommend about 72 hours of notice.
6Can I take my dog or cat on a private jet to Paraguay?
Yes. The animal needs a British export health certificate signed by an official vet within 96 hours of export, a rabies vaccination given 30 days to 12 months before export, and legalisation of the certificate at the Paraguayan embassy in London. The way home needs a rabies blood test and a wait of three months from the sample date, and a dog needs tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before landing.
