Private jet charter in Vilnius
Lithuania's capital lies about 961 nautical miles east of London, a flight of two and a half hours that ends on the far side of the Schengen border and two hours ahead of British clocks. A jet that leaves a London airfield at seven in the morning is therefore on the ground in Vilnius shortly before noon, in time for a lunch meeting in the New Town or a walk through the Old Town before dinner. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around whichever of those it is. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Vilnius has one 2,515 m runway, a VIP terminal of its own and customs and immigration listed as available round the clock, but private arrivals need prior permission, so the real decisions are the handler, the date and the cabin size.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Vilnius depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London City, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Vilnius?
Allow two and a half hours from the London fields, then move your watch two hours forward, because Lithuania keeps Eastern European time and changes its clocks on the same dates as Britain. The sectors in the table run from 961 to 1,086 nautical miles, which is the long end of short-haul. A light jet can fly them; most clients with a full cabin choose a midsize one, and the table shows the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven and you land at Vilnius International at about half past eleven local time. The airport is 5.9 km south of the centre, so the Old Town is a short ride away, and a direct train also links the airport station with the central railway station in about eight minutes. Put the drive to the British airfield and the processing at both ends on top and a journey from central London to central Vilnius comes to roughly five hours. A scheduled itinerary with a connection usually eats the better part of the day.
Light jet or midsize on a sector of two and a half hours
– Three or four people with cabin bags can sit in a light jet for the length of the sector, and the saving is real. We quote a midsize cabin next to it all the same, because the legroom matters after two hours and the return is westbound, often into a headwind;
– Past four people, or with golf bags, a pushchair, ski kit for a winter trip or a dog, the midsize jet stops being an upgrade and becomes the sensible quote. Winter coats alone take space that a summer party would not need;
– A heavy jet is for a large delegation, for one aircraft that follows you from Vilnius to Riga and Tallinn, or for a trip in which the Lithuanian capital is only the first of several stops.

Private jet flights from Vilnius
Vilnius makes a good base for a Baltic loop. Riga and Tallinn are close enough for a turboprop, the Lithuanian coast at Palanga is an hour away, and Warsaw, Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Berlin are sectors that fit inside a morning. Typical one-way prices:

The Baltics from the air: when a turboprop beats the road
Riga is 150 nautical miles from Vilnius and Tallinn 299, so a Pilatus PC-12 flies the first in about 55 minutes and the second in about 1 h 25 min. All three capitals are inside the Schengen area, so there is no passport control between them. The Baltic coast is nearer than most people think: Palanga is 171 nautical miles away, with a 2,280 m runway about 7 km from the resort town and 32 km from Klaipėda, while the road from Vilnius to Klaipėda runs to about 312 km. A loop of Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn arranged as one trip costs noticeably less than three separate charters, because the aircraft and crew stay with you.
Before you accept a Baltic onward quote
– Check the airport named at the far end. Stockholm and Berlin each have more than one business airport, and a quote that gives only the city name will be revised once the real field is chosen;
– Check whether the legs are one booking. Three days across Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn cost less as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Vilnius:
Light jets, for a short and light party
Two and a half hours is a long sit in a light cabin, so these suit three or four people with modest bags. Range is no issue for Vilnius, which means the money goes on the hour and not on capability you will not use.
Midsize, for the business team and the winter trip
A team with a laptop each and printed material, or a family with winter coats and a pushchair, is what usually moves a booking out of the light-jet class and into a cabin where the party can stand up and work.
Super-midsize and large
For a delegation travelling as one party, for a team that works in the air, and for trips that carry on from Vilnius to Scandinavia or the Gulf rather than turning round.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the hops inside the Baltics: Riga is under an hour in the air and Palanga about an hour, and on distances like these a turboprop saves a lot against a jet.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: Trakai and its lakes, a country estate with a lawn and no runway, or a view of the Old Town from above. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Vilnius sits at the eastern edge of the European fleet, so there is often an aircraft already within an hour or so of the airport, in Riga, Warsaw or Tallinn, and that is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Vilnius
One airport does the work. The others on this list matter as a back-up, for a trip that is really to another part of Lithuania, or because a quote names them and you should know why.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Vilnius International VNO / EYVI |
The answer for almost every jet trip. It lies 5.9 km south of the centre and has a single asphalt runway, 01/19, of 2,515 by 50 metres, with an ILS approach to each end, Category II on runway 01 and Category I on runway 19. The official aeronautical information lists customs and immigration, fuelling, handling, de-icing and security as available round the clock, with Jet A-1 and hangar space for visiting aircraft. Private flights use a VIP terminal and conference centre. Non-scheduled and general aviation arrivals need prior permission |
| Kaunas KUN / EYKA |
One of the three international airports of Lithuania, about 14 km north-east of Kaunas and about 100 km west of Vilnius, with a runway of 3,250 m, longer than anything at Vilnius. It earns a place on this list in two cases: the trip is really to Kaunas, or the aircraft has to land somewhere other than Vilnius. It appears on the official list of airports where pets may enter Lithuania, so a diversion with a dog does not break the pet rules |
| Palanga PLQ / EYPA |
The airport of the Baltic coast, with a runway of 2,280 by 45 metres, about 7 km from the resort town of Palanga and 32 km from Klaipėda. Seasonal charter traffic gives it a summer character, and the airport is on the same list of pet entry points. It is the choice for a beach week, not for a meeting in the capital |
| Riga RIX / EVRA |
Not an alternative for a Lithuanian meeting but a plan B, 150 nautical miles away and about 55 minutes by turboprop. Riga has a runway of 3,200 m and ILS Category II, about 10 km west of the city, and a dedicated business aviation terminal. It makes sense when neither Lithuanian airfield can be used or when Riga is the next stop of a Baltic loop |
Four points settle most Vilnius arrivals:
Choose the handler
Private flights use the VIP terminal, which offers privacy, lighter security procedures, snacks and drinks and a transfer straight to the aircraft. The official aeronautical information names Baltic Ground Services and Litcargus as the handling companies, and a third operator, FCG OPS Vilnius Handling, lists its services through the VIP terminal. Ground handling has to be coordinated before the prior permission request is filed, so we ask the operator for its preference and confirm the handler in writing before you pay.
Hours, permission and noise
Customs, immigration, fuelling, handling and de-icing are all listed as available round the clock. Permission is the real gate: prior permission is strictly applied to non-scheduled and general aviation arrivals, with coordination at least 24 hours before landing when handling is pre-arranged. At night, thrust reverser use beyond idle is to be avoided between 2200 and 0700 local time, and omnidirectional departures from runway 01 are not authorised in those hours. The aeronautical information mentions no slot system.
Border and passport
Lithuania is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you pass passport control and customs on arrival, normally through the VIP terminal. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years before arrival and valid for at least three months beyond the day you leave. The Entry/Exit System takes a photograph and fingerprints from short-stay visitors, so allow a few extra minutes on a first visit.
Weather and the car
Winter is cold, with a January average of about -4 degrees Celsius, so we allow extra time for de-icing on the apron, and for a time-critical trip we keep Kaunas or Riga in mind as a plan B. Give the car company the handler as well as the flight, because a driver told only airport may wait at the wrong door.

Border, passport and the way home
Because Lithuania is inside Schengen, the first landing is where the formalities happen, and everything after that, a hop to Riga or a drive to Trakai, is free of border control. The way home runs the other way. Britain treats the aircraft as arriving from abroad, so a General Aviation Report is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, and passengers pass the border at the British airfield. Visitors who need no visa for Britain still need an Electronic Travel Authorisation unless they are British or Irish citizens. We file the paperwork; you bring passports that are in date.

From the apron to the Old Town
Vilnius lies where the Vilnia meets the Neris, and its Old Town is one of the largest and best preserved in Europe. The business district stands across the Neris to the north, where the 148 m Europa Tower is the tallest building. From the airport you reach all of it in less time than a briefing takes, and the distances that matter run out to the lakes at Trakai and across the country to the coast.
5.9 km south of the city, which is why a single airport carries the jet traffictypically 15 to 20 minutes
a direct train over 4.3 km, an option when the road is slowabout 8 minutes
Trakai Island Castle stands on a lake about 28 km west of the capitaltypically about 30 minutes by road
the second city and its airport, about 100 km to the westtypically about 1 hour by road
150 nm by Pilatus PC-12, with no border control between the two capitalsabout 55 minutes
171 nm by Pilatus PC-12 to the Baltic coast, against about 312 km by road to Klaipėdaabout 1 h
Flying to Vilnius with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork is the part of a Lithuanian trip that needs planning, and the flight is the easy bit: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector of this length most simply sleep. The date on the health certificate is the detail to get right, since it lasts ten days from the day it is issued.

What Lithuania, as an EU country, asks for:
- An ISO microchip that can be read with a standard scanner, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time. Lithuania's veterinary service states that the date of the vaccine cannot precede the chip;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed before entry, and boosters kept on schedule;
- An Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, valid for ten days for entry to the EU and for the return to Britain as stated on the certificate, together with the owner's written declaration that the journey is not commercial. A British pet passport is not accepted for entry to the EU;
- No more than five animals per traveller, with the documents and the chip checked at a travellers' point of entry. Vilnius airport is on the official list of those points for pets, and our handler arranges the check at the terminal;
- No tapeworm treatment on the way in, since Lithuania is not among the countries that ask for it. For dogs returning to Britain, a treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Vilnius run
– The tapeworm treatment is a vet appointment you book in Vilnius towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and an early Monday flight needs a visit that falls before the weekend closes the clinics;
– The order of the chip and the vaccine matters. A vaccination dated before the microchip does not count, and an animal that arrives without the right papers may be refused entry or sent back at the owner's expense;
– A Vilnius city break with a dog is an ordinary booking. Settle the hotel and any onward helicopter before the quote, because each one has to accept the animal separately.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the flight home, we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
The Vilnius calendar: city festivals from the Light Festival to Christmas
Vilnius has no single week that swallows the city. Its year is a chain of smaller events, most of them in the streets of the Old Town, and the busy stretches are September and the weeks of Christmas. Knowing which one you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why the calendar matters less here than the weather
The aircraft are rarely the scarce item for these events, because most of Vilnius's calendar is made of city events and not of aircraft events. Rooms, restaurant tables and drivers are the items most likely to be tight in September and at Christmas, so ask for those first. The one condition that can change a Vilnius plan on any date is winter weather, which is why we allow time for de-icing and keep an alternative airfield in mind. Away from those weeks Vilnius is an easy capital to charter into, often in a day or two, although the prior permission step means the handler should be told early.
Ways to bring the Vilnius price down
- Shift the dates by a few days if the diary allows. A midweek flight in the spring or autumn shoulder months is calmer than the September festival weekends;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits in Riga, Warsaw or Tallinn costs less to bring over than one flown out from Britain, and on a sector of this length the positioning is a visible slice of the invoice;
- Take the light jet only when the party and the bags are small. Three people with cabin bags save real money in a CJ3+; six people with hold luggage do not, and the quote that looks cheap on paper is often the one that changes.
Types of flights
Vilnius produces a mix of its own, because the city is a regional business and government centre in the week and a heritage destination at the weekend.
- Business travel, with fixed meeting dates, a small team and a request to be back in Britain the same evening;
- Government and delegation visits, where a handler with a VIP terminal and a quiet passage to the car matter more than the price;
- City breaks in the Old Town, from the Light Festival in January to the Christmas market, usually four people or fewer and sometimes a dog;
- Baltic loops that put Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn into one itinerary, often with Helsinki added;
- Summer weeks on the lakes at Trakai or the coast at Palanga, mostly families and groups of friends;
- Day trips from London, which at two and a half hours each way are a long day but a workable one.
Vilnius stretches the day trip to its limit. Wheels up at seven, on the ground at about half past eleven local time, and off again at six in the evening gives you about six hours in the city and puts you back in Britain around seven. The crew waits for you at the airport and that waiting time is charged, yet the total is usually below two one-way charters, and we price the route both ways so you can compare.
Empty Legs
Some jets cross the Baltic with nobody aboard, moving to their next job, and the operator will sell that seat-free leg cheaply rather than fly it for nothing. That is an empty leg. On the Vilnius route the supply follows the working week and the festival weekends.
Where Vilnius empty legs come from
– Delegation and conference trips. An aircraft brings a group in on a Monday and leaves empty a day or two later, and the leg back towards London or Warsaw is the one most often offered;
– City-break weekends. Small parties arrive on the Friday and the aircraft goes home empty, which produces an outbound leg on the Friday or Saturday;
– Baltic rotation. Operators positioning between Riga, Tallinn, Warsaw and Helsinki put short regional legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
Because the Baltic corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Vilnius match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Vilnius a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The Old Town is small enough to cross by car or on foot, and the airport is only 5.9 km from it. The places where rotary flight changes the journey are the lakes and castle at Trakai, country estates with their own lawn, and a scenic loop over the Old Town and the Neris.
the island castle on Lake Galvė, about 28 km west of the capital, against a drive of about half an hour each waytypically 10 to 15 minutes
the Old Town, the Neris and the business district from the airtypically 30 minutes
a landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consenton request
Before you plan around a helicopter
– Rotary flight is limited by where it may set down. A landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, so we check the status of a hotel lawn or an estate garden before the quote is written;
– Baltic weather sets the schedule. Fog, low cloud and winter snow can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– For September and the Christmas weeks, book the helicopter together with the jet, or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for short scenic work, the wider H130 for estate and lakeside transfers, and the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Vilnius charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A working day in Vilnius and home for the evening
Biggin Hill - Vilnius and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 40 min each way · 4 pax
Four people left a London airfield at seven, landed at about half past eleven local time and went straight to an afternoon of meetings in the centre. The aircraft stayed on the ground with its crew, and that wait was a line in the quote, but the total was still lower than two one-way charters. Home by seven. A long day that does the job.
DELEGATION · A QUIET PASSAGE
Government visit with a fixed arrival
Farnborough - Vilnius, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 35 min · 5 pax
The date was set by the other side. The handler confirmed the prior permission and the VIP terminal in writing a week ahead, the passport check was arranged at the terminal and the car was waiting at the aircraft door. Nobody queued, and nobody had to explain the aircraft to anyone.
CONFERENCE WEEK · FIXED DATES
A finance team for three days of meetings
London Luton - Vilnius, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 35 min · 8 pax
The dates were set by the meetings and not by the client. Eight people, laptops, printed folders and a request for a car at the aircraft door. The booking went in several weeks ahead, the handler pre-arranged the passport check at the terminal, and the aircraft left Luton on time with nothing to explain.
BALTIC LOOP · ONE BOOKING
Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn in three days
London City - Vilnius - Riga - Tallinn - London City, Citation XLS+ · 6 pax
Three capitals, three meetings and one aircraft that stayed with the party. Passport control happened once, on the first landing at Vilnius, and the two hops between the capitals were border-free. Quoted as three separate charters it came out well above the single booking, because the crew would have repositioned between each stop.
WINTER WEEKEND · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel in the Light Festival weekend
Southampton - Vilnius, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 45 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Vilnius for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, left extra time for de-icing on the way out, and the hotel took the dog.
EMPTY LEG · MIDWEEK WEST
A jet already going your way
Vilnius - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h 30 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a delegation in on Monday and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a midweek departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Vilnius
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Vilnius?
About 2 hours 40 minutes from both London City and Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 2 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours 35 minutes from Luton or Farnborough in a Phenom, covering roughly 961 to 996 nautical miles. From Birmingham or Manchester allow about 2 hours 40 minutes in a midsize cabin, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 35 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes. Vilnius is two hours ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands at about half past eleven local time.
2How much does a private jet to Vilnius cost?
From about £12,950 one way on a light jet out of London City, and £13,000 from Biggin Hill. A Phenom from Luton or Farnborough runs £13,000 to £13,350, a midsize cabin costs £16,700 from Birmingham and £17,500 from Bristol, and from Scotland allow £20,850 to £21,500. September festival weekends and the Christmas weeks can price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Vilnius?
Vilnius International (VNO / EYVI), 5.9 km south of the centre, for almost every jet trip. It has one 2,515 m runway, a VIP terminal and customs and immigration listed as available round the clock. Kaunas (KUN / EYKA), about 100 km west, is the diversion airport, and Palanga (PLQ / EYPA) is the airport of the Baltic coast. Riga (RIX / EVRA) is a plan B only.
4Does a private jet need permission to land at Vilnius, and what happens on arrival?
Yes. Prior permission is strictly applied to non-scheduled and general aviation arrivals, with coordination at least 24 hours ahead when handling is pre-arranged, and the handling has to be agreed first. Lithuania is in Schengen and Britain is not, so passengers pass passport control and customs on arrival, normally through the VIP terminal. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180.
5Can I fly on from Vilnius to Riga, Tallinn or Palanga?
Riga is 150 nautical miles from Vilnius and Tallinn 299, so a Pilatus PC-12 flies them in about 55 minutes and 1 h 25 min, with no passport control between the Baltic capitals. Palanga on the coast is 171 nautical miles, about 1 h by turboprop, against about 312 km by road to Klaipėda. Helsinki is 355 nautical miles away and about 1 h 40 min in the same aircraft.
6Can I take my dog to Vilnius on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and Lithuania, as an EU country, asks for a microchip fitted before or with the rabies vaccination, a vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. Vilnius airport is an approved point of entry for pets. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
