Private jet charter in Cameroon
Douala is 2,998 nautical miles from London, and that one figure, more than anything about the country itself, decides how a private flight to Cameroon is planned. An Embraer Praetor 600 covers the distance in about 7 h without landing; smaller jets break the journey twice. Private Jets UK builds these trips around four questions: which aircraft can make the sector, which permit the flight needs, whether Douala or Yaounde suits the errand, and what the Foreign Office says about the region you are heading for. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Cameroon that means the landing and overflight permits, a handler at the airport, fuel released before arrival, hotels for the crew, a car and, where the programme calls for it, a local operator for the sectors inside the country.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Cameroon depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Praetor 600 to Douala, nonstop, and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Cameroon?
Cameroon keeps West Africa Time, one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time all year with no summer change. On landing the local clock is an hour ahead of Britain in winter and level with British Summer Time from spring to autumn. These are the sectors from London Biggin Hill on a Praetor 600, gate to gate:
2,710 nautical miles, the airport of the north, under Foreign Office advice for the whole regionabout 6 h 20 min
2,998 nautical miles, the port and commercial capital, and the gateway for most chartersabout 7 h
3,033 nautical miles, the political capital, with a 3,400 metre runway at Nsimalenabout 7 h 05 min
Why the aircraft decides the route
Only the larger types fly London to Douala in a single hop with a sensible reserve: the Praetor 600, the Challenger 605 and everything above them. A light jet like the Phenom 300E and a midsize jet like the Citation XLS+ have ranges near 2,000 nautical miles, and the second half of the journey is longer than that from the Canaries, so they stop twice, typically at Las Palmas and Dakar, and each stop adds roughly an hour.
The saving from the smaller aircraft turns out to be negative. A Phenom 300E on that routing prices at about £50,850 and takes about 11 h 45 min gate to gate, and a Citation XLS+ comes to about £63,350, against the £47,700 asked for a Praetor 600 that flies straight through. That is why the headline price on this page belongs to the Praetor.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Cameroon
Typical private jet charter prices from Britain into Cameroon, listed cheapest first. The entry price is Douala on a Praetor 600 from Biggin Hill: it is the smallest aircraft that crosses without a stop, and Douala is the airport with the commercial weight behind it. The table then rises with the distance from the north of Britain and the size of the cabin:

Reading the price table
The choice of Cameroonian airport moves the price a little. Yaounde is 35 nautical miles further from Biggin Hill than Douala, which adds about £500 on a Praetor 600, while Garoua in the north is 288 nautical miles closer and would be about £4,350 cheaper. Each hundred miles is worth roughly £1,500 on this aircraft, and permits, handling, parking, fuel and the crew's hotel are quoted as lines of their own. The Garoua row in the table is priced on a larger aircraft so that the headline stays with Douala, and the Foreign Office position on the north is set out further down.
Private jet flights within Cameroon and to its neighbours
Douala and Yaounde are only 116 nautical miles apart in a straight line, a short hop that scheduled flights and the road both cover. The long distances in Cameroon are to the north, where Garoua lies 402 nautical miles from Douala. The neighbouring capitals are close enough to combine with a Cameroonian trip. These are the sectors clients ask for:

Domestic sectors and the neighbours
– A British aircraft does not usually fly them with passengers. Carrying passengers between two points in another country is cabotage, and aviation law in most countries reserves it for local operators, so a sector such as Douala to Yaounde or Douala to Garoua is typically flown by an operator based in Cameroon. The jet that brought you from London waits at Douala or goes home. We name the operator for each leg when we quote;
– Libreville, Malabo, Lagos and Accra are separate countries, each with its own permit, visa and handling rules. A hop to Malabo or Libreville is a new international trip, not an extension of the Cameroonian one. The lines in the table are straight-line estimates, not a promise that a slot exists on the date you want.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Cameroon:
Turboprops
Useful on the ground in Cameroon and the Gulf of Guinea, never for the journey from London. Douala to Yaounde or Malabo is well under an hour in either.
Light and midsize jets
These need two fuel stops on the way out from Britain and suit four to six people with soft bags. For the regional hops to Libreville, Malabo or Yaounde they are a sensible choice.
Super-midsize
The first class that crosses to Douala in one hop. The Praetor 600 sets the entry price on this route, while a Challenger 350 has the range on paper but leaves little reserve on a sector of this length, so we usually plan a stop for it.
Heavy jets
For a delegation, or a family with staff and luggage. They fly from anywhere in Britain without a stop.
Ultra-long range
The Global 6000 and the Gulfstreams shorten the sector slightly and carry up to 16 people, which suits a corporate group or an official party.

Business aviation airports in Cameroon
Cameroon has two airports where we plan almost every private arrival, Douala and Yaounde Nsimalen, with Garoua as an occasional third. Older operator guidance lists Douala, Yaounde and Garoua as the airports of entry for foreign aircraft and notes that they are normally reserved for scheduled carriers, so permission for a private or charter landing is requested in advance from the civil aviation authority. The table gives the ground facts:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Douala International DLA / FKKD |
serves Douala, the largest city and the port | One asphalt runway, 12/30, of 2,880 metres, at an elevation of 33 feet, run by the national airports company Aeroports du Cameroun. It is the busiest airport in the country, with four terminals. Jet A-1 and Avgas are listed as available, and customs and immigration offices work at the airport. Handlers offer VIP terminal access, stairs, ground power and crew transport, and no single business aviation terminal is named in the published sources, so the quote names the handler for your flight |
| Yaounde Nsimalen International NSI / FKYS |
about 27 km south of the capital | One asphalt runway, 01/19, of 3,400 metres and 45 metres wide, at about 694 metres (2,276 feet) above sea level, which thins the air on a hot afternoon and is checked in the performance calculation. The aerodrome is listed as open round the clock, with a control tower that works 24 hours, six aircraft stands and Jet A-1 only. Customs and immigration are available at the airport. It is the airport for ministries, embassies and official delegations |
| Garoua International GOU / FKKR |
serves Garoua, in the north | Listed as an airport of entry on request, with Jet A-1 only. Customs and immigration contacts exist for the airport, but a business jet normally lands here by special arrangement. The Foreign Office advises against all but essential travel to the North Region, which includes Garoua, so we treat any request for the north as a separate decision and not as part of a standard programme |
Four rules settle most Cameroonian arrivals before a quote goes out:
Permits for every type of flight
Technical stops, overflights, charters and private flights all need prior permission, applied for through the civil aviation authority, which consults the military for the clearance. A private aircraft does not need an air operator certificate, a charter does, and both are written into the application.
Short validity
Operator guidance gives a landing permit validity of 24 hours at the international airports and 72 hours for an overflight permit, counted from the requested schedule. A change of date, aircraft or crew is notified before departure, because the permit follows the details it was issued for.
Office hours
The civil aviation authority is listed as working from 09:00 to 17:00 UTC, which is 10:00 to 18:00 in Cameroon, and the Yaounde airport administration from 06:30 to 14:30 UTC. We file early and do not leave the permit for the last afternoon.
Papers and crew
Aircraft registration, airworthiness and insurance papers, crew licences and passport copies, the entry and exit points of the route and a passenger manifest, plus an airport parking slot, which is mandatory with the landing permit. Crew visas are listed as issued on arrival through the general declaration, typically for up to 72 hours.
Fuel and the handler
Jet A-1 is arranged through the handler, who issues a fuel release once the supplier confirms and invoices it with the other charges. Douala is listed with Jet A-1 and Avgas, while Yaounde and Garoua have Jet A-1 only. Handling is carried out by authorised companies at every Cameroonian airport. We do not name an FBO for Cameroon, because the published sources do not, and we would rather confirm the company for your date than quote a brand we cannot verify.
Arriving from Britain: visa, vaccination and the Foreign Office advice
The visa and the yellow fever certificate are the two pieces of paper that stop a trip at the airport, so they come first. The permit for the aircraft is a third document with a timetable of its own.
British citizens need a visa for Cameroon. The e-visa is applied for online, and applicants sometimes report technical problems with the service, so the application goes in well ahead. A visa cannot be obtained on arrival at Douala or Yaounde airportapply first
valid for at least six months after the day of arrival, and not reported lost or stolen. Dual nationals carry a valid British passportcheck the expiry
a vaccination certificate is required to enter the countryget the certificate early
Cameroon has strict rules on goods taken in or out of the country, and anything prohibited or subject to tax or duty must be declaredread the list before you pack
the passport should be stamped by the border officer on entrycheck before you leave the desk
crew visas are listed as issued on arrival through the general declaration, typically for up to 72 hours, so a longer layover is arranged beforehandwe confirm with the handler
The Foreign Office advice, as published
The Foreign Office advises against all travel to the Bakassi Peninsula, to the area within 40 km of the borders with the Central African Republic, Chad and Nigeria (Garoua excepted in the North Region), to the Far North Region apart from small zones around Maroua, and to the North-West and South-West Regions, which include Buea, Muyuka and Tiko. Limbe is not part of that list.
It advises against all but essential travel to Limbe and the stretch of the N3 road between Limbe and the Littoral Region, to the North Region including Garoua, and to the zones around Maroua. Douala and Yaounde do not appear in either list. Travel insurance may be invalid for a journey made against the advice, so we ask clients to speak to their insurer and security adviser before they accept a quote for any of these areas. Our planning follows the published advice.
Clearance and the way home
On arrival, passengers and crew clear immigration and customs at the airport, and the handler confirms where the party is processed.
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, and British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation. Passengers who hold another passport should check their own entry rules before they fly.

Which airport for which part of Cameroon
The airport follows the errand. Cameroon has two centres of gravity, the port on the coast and the capital inland, and they are far enough apart by road to justify choosing the right gateway:
the economic capital and the port, where shipping, trading and industrial businesses are based. The runway of 2,880 metres takes the aircraft in this guide with marginDouala
the seat of government, ministries and embassies, with the airport about 27 km south of the city. Crew hotels listed near it include the Hilton Yaounde and Hotel Mont Febe at about ten minutes and the Djeuga Palace and Hotel La Falaise at about fifteenYaounde
Douala is the usual gateway for the Atlantic coast, and a car from the airport covers the rest. We do not plan landings at small coastal strips without a confirmed handlerDouala
the main airport of the North Region. Foreign Office advice: all but essential travel, so the request is handled separatelyGaroua
the Foreign Office advises against all travel to Buea and the South-West Region, and against all but essential travel to Limbe, so we do not plan private flights therenot planned
The Cameroonian year: the rains, the dry months and the north
Cameroon runs from the equatorial coast to the edge of the Sahel, so there is no single season. The south has a long wet period and a shorter dry one, and the north has one rainy season and a hot, dry stretch. Rain rarely cancels a flight, but it decides how much margin the plan carries:
typically the driest months in the south and the most comfortable for meetings in Douala and Yaounde. Dust haze from the harmattan can reduce visibility in the northhigh season
the heat builds, and the first heavy rains return to the south. The north is at its hottest before the rainswarm
the wettest part of the year on the coast, with Douala among the rainiest cities in Africa. Transfers are kept short and the schedule gets slackwet season
the rains ease in the south, and the road and the runways dry out as the dry season approachesshoulder
The Cameroonian calendar: national days and the December festival
The national calendar is short, and holidays matter more than festivals when a meeting depends on a ministry being open. Dates that move with the lunar or the local calendar are checked before a booking:

Flying to Cameroon with a dog or a cat
A pet can travel in the cabin of a private jet, but a Cameroon trip needs more paperwork than a flight to Europe, and the way home falls under the stricter British rules for countries outside the simple pet scheme. We start with the papers, not the aircraft.
Ask the destination first
Pet travel guides list the Cameroonian rules as follows: no quarantine for a healthy animal, a microchip recommended but not mandatory, a rabies vaccination given between 30 days and 12 months before entry (a multi-year vaccine is not accepted), and a health certificate from a licensed vet endorsed by the government veterinary service of the country of departure. A personal pet does not normally need an import permit, and the listed entry airports are Douala and Yaounde. We have not seen the Cameroonian veterinary authority's own text, so we obtain the requirements, the entry airport and the permit position from the authority in writing before the aircraft is confirmed.
On the way home Cameroon does not appear among the countries with the simple route into Britain, so the rules for non-listed countries apply. We check the position on gov.uk for your dates before we confirm the flight.
Coming home, a pet from a non-listed country needs a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, then a rabies blood test taken at least 30 days after the vaccination, and a wait of three months from the date of the sample before the animal travels. The wait does not apply if the animal was vaccinated, blood-tested and given a British health certificate or an EU pet passport before it left for the non-listed country, which is why we ask owners to do the tests before the outward flight. A dog must also be treated against tapeworm by a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than 120 hours before landing in Britain. No more than five animals may travel with one person, and an animal that arrives without the right paperwork can be held in quarantine for up to four months.
We tell the handler in advance and confirm in writing which entry point will receive the animal and which papers are needed. The general rules are set out in our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On a sector of three thousand miles the saving is large in absolute terms even when the percentage is the same as anywhere else.
Where Cameroonian empty legs come from
– A charter that lands in Douala and does not wait: the aircraft returns to Europe empty, and the leg home is the one most often offered;
– The weeks around the Christmas holidays, when families fly out for the festive season and the aircraft leaves empty a few days later.
A client who can offer a few days has a far better chance of a match, though the operator owns the date and a leg can disappear when the original booking changes. Free legs are listed on our empty legs page. A selection of Cameroonian empty legs follows:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cameroon (Douala) - UK (London Biggin Hill) | Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £20,050 |
| Cameroon (Douala) - UK (Bristol) | Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £20,200 |
| UK (London Luton) - Cameroon (Douala) | Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £20,250 |
| UK (Manchester) - Cameroon (Douala) | Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £20,950 |
| Cameroon (Douala) - UK (Birmingham) | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £26,300 |
| UK (Farnborough) - Cameroon (Douala) | Legacy 650 | 13 seats | £27,150 |
| UK (Edinburgh) - Cameroon (Douala) | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £28,150 |
| Cameroon (Yaounde) - UK (London Gatwick) | Falcon 2000LXS | 10 seats | £29,100 |
What the empty-leg prices mean
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Praetor 600 from Manchester to Douala with nine aboard works out at about £2,350 a seat, and with four aboard about £5,250;
– The visa and the yellow fever certificate are still needed for an empty leg that carries passengers, and the permit has the same lead time as for a normal charter, so a cheap flight does not shorten the paperwork.

Helicopter charter
Helicopters in Cameroon work mainly for the oil, gas and port industries, and a private client rarely needs one for more than a short job. We do not name an operator for Cameroon, because the published sources give none we can verify, and we confirm who flies when the request comes. These are the hops clients ask about:
the two main cities, in place of a long driveabout 1 h 10 min
across the bay into Equatorial Guinea, which needs its own permitabout 40 min
The times are straight-line estimates at a cruise of about 115 knots. A helicopter that flies passengers between two Cameroonian places is a Cameroonian one, and every landing site is agreed in advance.
Rotary legs and the advice
Daylight is the limit. A helicopter leg in the north or the west is planned with the Foreign Office advice for the area in front of us, and we do not quote a landing in an area where it advises against all travel. Around Douala and Yaounde the saving is on the ground: a short hop over the traffic when the schedule cannot absorb a long drive.

Flights from the UK to Cameroon
Biggin Hill and Farnborough are the south-east business aviation airfields best suited to a long sector, with Luton, Gatwick, Stansted and London City as the other London options, and Southampton, Bristol and Birmingham further out. Manchester is 144 nautical miles further from Douala than Biggin Hill, which adds about £2,150 on a Praetor 600, and Edinburgh, at 3,309 nautical miles, is flown on a Challenger 605 with a longer day. Cameroonian charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
Six typical jobs put together from booking notes with the particulars changed, so none describes one named client or date.
DOUALA · ONE NIGHT ON THE GROUND
Two directors and a port meeting
Biggin Hill - Douala and return, Praetor 600, about 7 h each way · 2 pax
The e-visas and the yellow fever certificates were in hand before we asked for the permit, and a car met the aircraft at the steps.
DOUALA · CHRISTMAS WITH THE FAMILY
Eight people for the holidays
London Luton - Douala, Challenger 605, about 7 h 05 min · 8 pax
A family with staff booked in October for the week before Christmas, and the aircraft returned empty a few days later.
YAOUNDE · A MINISTRY VISIT
Four people with an appointment
Southampton - Yaounde, Legacy 650, about 7 h 05 min · 4 pax
The party flew into Nsimalen because the meetings were in the capital, 27 km away. The permit was filed early so that a public holiday did not close the window.
DOUALA AND YAOUNDE · TWO AIRCRAFT
A delegation visiting both cities
Manchester - Douala, Praetor 600, about 7 h 20 min, then Douala - Yaounde on a Cameroonian jet, about 55 min · 6 pax
A British aircraft does not usually carry passengers between two Cameroonian cities, so the delegation changed at Douala to a local operator's aircraft. Our quote showed both operators and the transfer between them.
WITH THE DOG · A LONG LEAD TIME
A couple and a retriever bound for a long stay
Biggin Hill - Douala, Praetor 600, about 7 h · 2 pax + dog
The destination's requirements came first and set the date. The owners had the dog vaccinated and blood-tested for the British return before leaving, which meant no three-month wait at home, and the tapeworm treatment was given within the five-day window before the flight back.
EMPTY LEG · AFTER THE HOLIDAYS
A flexible return from Douala
Douala - Birmingham, Challenger 605 empty leg, about 7 h 10 min · 5 pax
The client gave us a window of three days instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid about £26,300, a little under half of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector, for a Wednesday departure.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Cameroon
1How long does it take to fly to Cameroon by private jet?
About 7 hours from London to Douala on a Praetor 600, without a stop. A light jet such as the Phenom 300E needs two fuel stops and takes about 11 hours 45 minutes. Cameroon keeps West Africa Time all year, one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
2How much does a private jet to Cameroon cost?
From about £47,700 one way from Biggin Hill to Douala on a Praetor 600. Yaounde is about £500 more on the same aircraft, and a Challenger 605 from Edinburgh to Douala is about £67,000. Douala to Yaounde is from £3,100 on a turboprop.
3Which airports do private jets use in Cameroon?
Douala International and Yaounde Nsimalen are the two airports where we plan nearly every private arrival, and Garoua is listed as an airport of entry on request. A British aircraft does not usually carry passengers between two Cameroonian airports, so a trip that continues inside the country uses a Cameroonian operator for the domestic sector.
4What are the visa, health and permit rules for a private flight from Britain to Cameroon?
British citizens need a visa, applied for online before travel, because a visa cannot be obtained on arrival at Douala or Yaounde. The passport must be valid for at least six months after arrival, and a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required. The aircraft needs prior permission from the civil aviation authority, and operator guidance gives a landing permit validity of 24 hours and an overflight permit validity of 72 hours.
5What does the Foreign Office advise about travel to Cameroon?
It advises against all travel to the Bakassi Peninsula, the border zones with the Central African Republic, Chad and Nigeria, most of the Far North Region, and the North-West and South-West Regions including Buea. It advises against all but essential travel to Limbe, the North Region including Garoua, and the zones around Maroua. Douala and Yaounde appear in neither list.
6Can I take my dog or cat on a private jet to Cameroon?
Yes, with planning. We obtain the Cameroonian requirements, the entry airport and any permit from the authorities in writing before the flight is confirmed. For the return, Britain applies its rules for non-listed countries, including a rabies blood test, and a dog needs tapeworm treatment 24 to 120 hours before landing.
7How early should I book a private jet to Cameroon?
As soon as the dates are known, and at least two weeks ahead as a working minimum, since the visa has to be in hand before departure and the permit is requested through the civil aviation authority in its office hours. A public holiday closes the office, so a trip around 20 May or Christmas is filed earlier than usual.
