Private jet charter in Belfast
A jet leaving a London field reaches Belfast in about an hour, over the sea and with no border at the far end, because the flight is domestic from the first minute to the last. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around whatever the trip is for. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Belfast has two airports with very different habits. George Best Belfast City stands about three miles from the centre and closes its airfield in the evening, while Belfast International lies some 13 miles out and keeps going all night, so most of the planning is a choice between the two, followed by a decision on how much of the Antrim coast the second day should take.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Belfast depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Belfast?
About an hour from the London fields in a light jet, 35 to 40 minutes from Glasgow, and no change of clock from anywhere in Britain. At 94 to 302 nautical miles this is a short sector, the kind where the climb and the descent take a large share of the flight and where the price runs into a minimum charge long before the distance matters. The table gives the sector from each British field into George Best Belfast City; Belfast International lies 5 to 12 nautical miles further on, which adds a minute or two.

Door to door, and no border on the way
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at George Best Belfast City a little after eight, with the watch unchanged. The airport is about three miles (5 km) from the city centre, so a client who walked out of a London office at half past six can be in a Belfast meeting room before nine. There is no passport control and no customs on the way: the handler meets the party at the aircraft door, and the whole journey from central London to central Belfast comes to roughly three hours. Belfast International changes the arithmetic. It is 13 miles from the city to the north-west, which in practice adds a drive of half an hour or more, and it is chosen for the runway and the clock, not for the convenience of the city.
Turboprop, light jet or midsize: how the choice goes on this route
– Up to eight people with ordinary bags, a Pilatus PC-12 is the sensible aircraft from the north and the Midlands. From Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh or Glasgow it costs £3,100, the minimum on a sector this short, against £5,300 for a Citation CJ3+, and it gives away only five to ten minutes;
– From the south of England the gap opens in minutes as well as pounds. From Biggin Hill the PC-12 is £4,100 and takes 1 h 30 min, the CJ3+ is £5,300 and takes 1 h 05 min. A light jet earns its premium on the southern sectors, or when Belfast is one of three stops in a day;
– A midsize or larger cabin is for a full party, for golf bags on a Portrush week, or for a trip that carries on from Belfast to Geneva or Nice. At George Best the limit is the runway and not the cabin: it measures 1,829 m, and the heaviest long-range types are normally planned out of Belfast International instead.

Eight of the 15 sectors carry the same price, £3,100, and that is not rounding. A one-way charter is billed with the aircraft's return positioning, and on a short sector a minimum charge takes over from the distance. Every PC-12 sector up to about 205 nautical miles lands on it, which is why Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham cost the same to Belfast, and why the field you can reach fastest by car is usually the right one.

Private jet flights from Belfast
Belfast sends a different mix from the London fields. Dublin and Derry are turboprop hops, Amsterdam and Paris are a light-jet hour and a half, the Alps and the Mediterranean sit at two to three hours, and the Gulf and New York are long-haul departures that normally leave from Belfast International and not from the city airport. Dublin and Derry: the road or the aircraft
Dublin is 76 nautical miles from Belfast City on the chart, about 40 minutes in a PC-12, and about 100 miles by road: 34 miles from Belfast to Newry and a further 67 from Newry to Dublin, on motorway or dual carriageway all the way. By car the journey takes roughly two hours, so the aircraft only wins when the party needs to land at Dublin Airport itself, when the day is tight, or when the same aircraft carries on to the west of Ireland or to the Continent. Newry, the halfway town, is a place to stop on the way and not a place to land. Derry is a different case. City of Derry Airport, with a 1,969 m runway, is 53 nautical miles from the city airport, about 35 minutes by turboprop, and it is where the north-west of the province begins.
Before you accept an Irish onward quote
– Which side of the border you are landing. Dublin is in the EU, so a flight from Belfast to Dublin is a flight into another jurisdiction, with its own arrival rules for passengers and for any animal on board. We confirm the Irish paperwork for the day in writing, not on the afternoon of the flight;
– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Belfast to Dublin to the Continent and home over three days costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Belfast:
Light jets, the usual choice from the south
At about an hour in the air this is the class for four to six people with ordinary luggage. Nothing here is limited by the 1,829 m runway at George Best, so the money goes on the hour and not on capability you will not use.
Midsize, for golf bags and a long weekend
The hold fills faster than the seats on a Northern Ireland trip: four sets of clubs for Royal Portrush, wet-weather gear and whatever comes home from the coast.
Super-midsize and large
For a party travelling as one group, a team that works in the air, or a trip that continues from Belfast to the Gulf or the Alps. The larger types are planned against the city airport's runway length, or from Belfast International, depending on weight and weather.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the northern and Midlands sectors, where a turboprop reaches Belfast in under an hour and the quote sits at the minimum charge, and for the short hops to Dublin and Derry.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: the Causeway Coast, a golf course on the north Antrim shore, or a loop over Belfast Lough. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote, not after it.

This is a small part of what is available. Belfast sits within an hour of London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin, so for a booking that does not fall in an event week there is usually an aircraft already within reach, and a quote may name one of those cities as the positioning point. That is normal and often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Belfast
Two airports share the work, and choosing between them is the most important decision in the quote. Two more matter when the programme leaves the Belfast area.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| George Best Belfast City BHD / EGAC |
The airport for the city and the answer for most trips that end in Belfast. It stands about three miles (5 km) from the centre and has a single runway, 04/22, of 1,829 m. Private and business aircraft are handled by Jet Assist in its Business Jet Centre, which has access separate from the main airport, a private lounge and security, customs and immigration, and fuelling (AVGAS is not available). The published airfield hours are 06:30 to 21:30 every day. Movements are capped at 48,000 a year, commercial and private together |
| Belfast International BFS / EGAA |
The runway answer. About 13 miles (21 km) north-west of the city, with two runways, 07/25 at 2,780 m and 17/35 at 1,891 m, and operations listed round the clock. Two handlers work the business side: Global Trek Aviation, a purpose-built executive FBO off the main terminal with a passenger lounge, catering and a crew lounge, listed as open 24 hours, and Woodgate Aviation, described as the longest-established business aviation provider in Northern Ireland, which runs a private jet terminal and a hangar of about 33,000 sq ft. Customs and immigration are on site, and the field is not slot restricted |
| City of Derry, Eglinton LDY / EGAE |
The alternative for the north-west of the province, about 8 miles (13 km) from Derry and about 53 nautical miles from Belfast City. A single asphalt runway, 08/26, of 1,969 m. It is a designated airport, but we confirm hours, handling and customs in writing for the date before it goes into a quote |
| Dublin DUB / EIDW |
Not an alternative to Belfast but the other airport of the island, and the right landing point for business in the Republic. North of the city, with three runways of 3,110 m, 2,637 m and 2,072 m. Irish customs apply, and the arrival rules for passengers and animals are those of Ireland and the EU, not of the United Kingdom |
Four points settle most Belfast arrivals:
Choose the airport first
George Best is for meetings in the city, the Titanic Quarter and the harbour, and for any party that wants to be at a hotel within minutes of landing. Belfast International is for heavy aircraft, for departures after the city airport has closed, and for long-haul sectors. For the Causeway Coast the two are close enough that the runway and the clock decide, not the map.
Hours and movement cap
The city airfield is published as 06:30 to 21:30 daily, under a cap of 48,000 movements a year, so an evening departure after a dinner or a match is the thing that goes wrong. We plan to leave before the airfield closes or move the aircraft to Belfast International, and we confirm in writing before the quote is accepted.
Passport and papers
From Great Britain the flight is domestic: no passport control, no customs and no General Aviation Report. The handler still asks for the names of the passengers, and we advise carrying a passport or a driving licence as photo identification. Arrivals from outside the Common Travel Area follow the usual customs rules, described below.
Handler and door
Give us the handler as well as the airport. Jet Assist runs the Business Jet Centre at the city airport, while Global Trek and Woodgate stand at Belfast International, and a driver told only "Belfast airport" can wait at the wrong one, some 13 miles from the right one.

Passport, customs and the road south
A flight from Great Britain to Belfast is domestic. The police guidance for Northern Ireland says that a flight arriving at or leaving a designated airport needs no General Aviation Report, and Belfast International, George Best Belfast City and City of Derry are all designated airports. There is nothing to file, nothing to declare and no officer at the foot of the steps. The Windsor Framework arrangements for Northern Ireland concern trade goods and animals, not passengers, so for a private party the part that matters is the pet rules further down.
An arrival from outside the Common Travel Area is different. Coming in from Paris, Geneva or Dubai, the aircraft lands at a customs airport, a General Aviation Report is filed between 48 and 2 hours before departure, and Border Force decides who may enter. Most visitors who need no visa must still hold an Electronic Travel Authorisation; British and Irish citizens do not.
The road south is the other thing to know. Driving to Dublin takes the party into the Republic of Ireland, where the entry rules for visitors who are not British or Irish citizens, and the EU rules for animals, apply. Tell us the nationalities and any pets when you ask for the quote and we check the position for your dates.

From the apron to the Titanic Quarter
Belfast is a city of about 350,000 people, with some 700,000 in the wider urban area, built on the River Lagan at the head of Belfast Lough. The centre is compact, the Titanic Quarter on Queen's Island sits beside the harbour on the bus line that joins City Hall to the City Airport, and the distances that matter are the ones that run outward, to the Causeway Coast, to Derry and to Dublin.
about 3 miles (5 km), and the reason the city airport carries the business traffictypically 15 minutes
about 13 miles (21 km) to the north-west, close to Antrim and Lough Neaghtypically 30 to 40 minutes
34 miles south on the A1 and M1, the halfway town to Dublinabout 45 minutes
about 100 miles by way of Newry, on motorway or dual carriageway throughoutabout 2 hours
50 miles (80 km) to the north coast, the town of Royal Portrush Golf Clubabout 1 hour 15 minutes
along the coast road past Dunluce Castle, with the Causeway a few miles beyondabout 20 minutes
The Giant's Causeway is the destination most of our clients ask about after the meeting. About 40,000 interlocking basalt columns on the County Antrim coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and largely owned by the National Trust, it is open to walkers free of charge, but parking near it is limited and the visitor centre car park is reserved for members and ticket holders, so a chauffeur-driven group should book it in advance. The Dark Hedges, the avenue of beech trees on the Bregagh Road between Armoy and Stranocum that stood in for the King's Road in Game of Thrones, is a short detour inland from the same coast. Traffic is banned on part of the road, so the car stops at the end and the party walks.
Flying to Belfast with a dog or a cat
Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, but for a pet it is not treated like England, Scotland or Wales. A dog or cat travelling from Great Britain needs its own document and the right notice, and the flight itself is the easy part: the animal normally sits beside you in the cabin, and on a sector of about an hour most simply sleep.

What Northern Ireland asks for when a dog, cat or ferret arrives from Great Britain:
- A microchip, checked against the document when the animal arrives;
- A Northern Ireland Pet Travel Document, which a Great Britain resident applies for online at no charge, once, with no visit to a vet, and which lasts as long as the owner has the pet;
- Notice to the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) at least 10 working days before a flight that carries the animal, sent by email to its trade imports team;
- No more than five animals per traveller, unless they are attending or training for an event;
- With the document, neither a rabies vaccination nor a tapeworm treatment is required for entry to Northern Ireland itself, and a dog coming back to Great Britain from Northern Ireland needs no tapeworm treatment either.
What catches owners out on the Belfast run
– The ten working days. The notice to DAERA sits outside the flight booking, so it is the step that gets forgotten, and a weekend away decided on a Tuesday is the booking that cannot take the dog. We raise it with the first quote;
– The Irish leg. Dublin is in the EU, and a pet that crosses the border needs an Animal Health Certificate from an Official Veterinarian, valid for ten days for entry, with a microchip fitted before or with the rabies vaccination and a vaccination at least 21 days old. A dog also needs a tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before it arrives in Ireland, and none is needed on the way back to Great Britain from Ireland or Northern Ireland. Cats are exempt from the treatment;
– A pet that lives in Northern Ireland does not need the Pet Travel Document and moves between Northern Ireland and Great Britain freely if it is microchipped, so the rules above are for owners resident in England, Scotland and Wales.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. We confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
The Belfast calendar: a harbour city with a coast on its doorstep
Belfast has a winter of hockey and weekend breaks, a spring of festivals and road racing, and a July in which one golf course on the north coast can take every hotel room within an hour of it. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a Portrush week costs more
Not the flying. The British light and midsize fleet is large and Belfast is well placed in it. What gets tight in an Open or North West 200 week is the helicopters, the cars and the rooms on the coast, all in the same days. A booking made a fortnight before can still be done but pays more, and it may mean an aircraft positioned from Dublin or Glasgow. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Belfast is one of the easier destinations to charter into, and a flight can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Belfast price down
- Take the turboprop from the north and the Midlands. On sectors under about 200 nautical miles the PC-12 quote is £3,100 against £5,300 for a light jet, and for eight people with ordinary bags the cabin is not the constraint;
- Choose the field you can reach fastest. Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham carry the same price to Belfast, so the saving is in the drive to the airfield and not in the choice of it;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Belfast, Dublin or Glasgow takes less positioning than one from the south of England, and on a short sector positioning is a large share of the bill.
Types of flights
Belfast produces a different mix from the capital cities we cover, because it is the capital of Northern Ireland with its own business life, the gateway to a famous stretch of coast, and a second airport that suits long-haul departures.
- Business and professional travel into the city, usually a morning in and an afternoon out, with the city airport about three miles from the centre;
- Golf parties for the Causeway Coast, with Royal Portrush offering the Dunluce and Valley courses and Galgorm Castle a tournament venue near Ballymena;
- Sport and events: the Giants in winter, the North West 200 in May and the Open when it returns to Portrush;
- Coast and heritage weekends built on the Giant's Causeway, the Dark Hedges, the Game of Thrones locations and Titanic Belfast;
- Hops across the island to Dublin and Derry, by air or by the road through Newry;
- Long-haul departures to the Gulf and New York from Belfast International, where the 2,780 m runway has no equivalent at the city airport.
The day trip needs a closer look. Leave Biggin Hill at seven and you land a little after eight, and the return has to lift off before the city airfield closes at 21:30, which in practice means leaving the meeting by late afternoon. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it usually comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. A longer stay is a different quote and, if the evening is the point, a different airport.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Belfast has no single peak that creates them, so they come from the pattern of events and from the short island sectors, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Belfast empty legs come from
– Event and golf weeks. Aircraft bring parties for the Open or the North West 200 and leave empty a day or two later, which produces outbound legs in the days after;
– Weekend turn-rounds. Aircraft that bring a Friday party in from Britain go home empty on the Sunday, and the evening leg is the one most often offered;
– Island rotation. Operators that move aircraft between Belfast, Dublin and Scotland put short legs on the market, and short legs can be cheap.
Because the Belfast corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Belfast match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Belfast a helicopter is a tool for the coast and not for the city. The centre is three miles from the city airport and easy to cross by car, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the north Antrim shore, the golf courses and the long road to Derry.
50 miles by road to the course and the town, the standard transfer for the Open and the North West 200about 30 minutes
a few miles beyond Portrush along the coast, against the longer drive and the limited parking at the siteabout 35 minutes
53 nautical miles between the airports, against a long driveabout 35 minutes
Titanic Belfast, the old shipyard and the harbour seen from the airtypically 30 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A hotel lawn, a golf course or a private estate needs the owner's consent and a check of the site for the machine, so we confirm its status before the quote is written, not after it;
– Weather sets the schedule. Low cloud and sea fog on the north coast can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a coastal transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– For the Open and the North West 200, book the helicopter together with the jet, or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for the quick transfers, the wider H130 for country-house and course transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Flights from the UK to Belfast
Biggin Hill, London City, Luton and Farnborough send most of the London traffic on this corridor, with Southampton behind them, but the shortest sectors come from the north: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds are all within about 160 nautical miles of the city airport, a turboprop trip of under an hour. The price table higher up covers 15 of those pairings. Our clients have access to all airports of the UK and Europe. Due to the unique partnership conditions, we can offer our clients the best prices for business aviation services. Our experts will consult you on the availability of private jets in a particular city and help you choose the best option.

Belfast charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning meeting in Belfast and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Belfast City and return, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 05 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground a little after eight, in the meeting by nine and back at Biggin Hill before seven in the evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the Business Jet Centre rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and usually comes in below two separate one-way charters. The return had to leave before the airfield closed at half past nine, so the client left the last meeting by five.
GOLF · THE COAST
Four golfers and a week of clubs for Portrush
London Luton - Belfast City, Phenom 300E, about 55 min · 4 pax
It looked like a short hop and turned out to be a question about the hold. Four full sets of clubs and the luggage for a week moved the quote from a light jet to a midsize cabin. The 50 miles to the coast went by car, and the helicopter was priced, discussed and left out.
EVENT WEEK · THE HELICOPTER BOOKED FIRST
A hospitality party for the North West 200
Manchester - Belfast City, Pilatus PC-12, about 55 min · 8 pax
The helicopter was the scarce item, so it was secured before the aircraft. The turboprop cost the minimum for the sector, the helicopter took the party to the coast in a little over half an hour, and the booking was made some weeks ahead for that reason alone.
LONG-HAUL · THE OTHER AIRPORT
A Gulf departure that moved to Belfast International
Belfast International - Dubai, Global 6000, about 7 h 10 min · 8 pax
The client had asked for the city airport out of habit. The runway there is 1,829 m and its airfield closes in the evening, so the departure moved to Belfast International, with its 2,780 m runway and round-the-clock operation, and the drive to the airport grew by half an hour.
PETS · A DOG ON BOARD
Two adults and a spaniel for a long weekend
Southampton - Belfast City, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 05 min · 2 pax + dog
The Northern Ireland Pet Travel Document was already in hand and the notice to DAERA went out more than ten working days before the flight. The hotel accepted the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY AFTERNOON EAST
A jet already going your way
Belfast City - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 55 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for an afternoon departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Belfast
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Belfast?
About 1 hour 5 minutes from London City and Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 55 minutes from Luton in a Phenom, covering 268 to 302 nautical miles from the London fields. From Manchester, Newcastle or Leeds a turboprop takes about 55 minutes, and from Glasgow or Edinburgh about 40 to 50 minutes. There is no change of clock.
2How much does a private jet to Belfast cost?
From about £5,300 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill or London City, and £5,700 in a Phenom from Luton. A Pilatus PC-12 from Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow or Birmingham costs £3,100, the minimum on a short sector. The Open week, the North West 200 and the Giants home games can price above these figures.
3Which Belfast airport should a private jet use, George Best City or Belfast International?
George Best Belfast City (BHD / EGAC) for a meeting in the city: it is about three miles from the centre, has a 1,829 m runway and a Business Jet Centre run by Jet Assist, but its airfield is published as open from 06:30 to 21:30. Belfast International (BFS / EGAA) is about 13 miles out, has runways of 2,780 m and 1,891 m, operates round the clock and has two business handlers. Use it for heavy aircraft, late or early hours and long-haul flights.
4Do I need a passport or customs clearance to fly to Belfast?
Not from Great Britain. The flight is domestic, with no passport control, no customs and no General Aviation Report, and George Best, Belfast International and City of Derry are all designated airports. Handlers still ask for names, and we advise carrying a passport or a driving licence. An arrival from outside the Common Travel Area follows the usual customs rules, with a report filed between 48 and 2 hours before departure.
5Can I reach the Giant's Causeway, Portrush or Dublin from Belfast?
Yes. Portrush is 50 miles from Belfast by road, about 1 hour 15 minutes, and the Giant's Causeway lies a few miles beyond it, about 20 minutes further. A helicopter covers the coast in roughly half an hour. Dublin is about 100 miles by road through Newry, roughly two hours, or 76 nautical miles by air, about 40 minutes in a turboprop.
6Can I take my dog to Belfast on a private jet?
Usually yes: the dog normally travels in the cabin with you, and we confirm the entry point and the paperwork in writing before the flight. A Great Britain resident needs a microchip, a free Northern Ireland Pet Travel Document and a notice to DAERA at least 10 working days before the flight, and no rabies vaccination or tapeworm treatment is required for entry to Northern Ireland itself. Onward travel to Ireland needs an Animal Health Certificate, and a dog needs a tapeworm treatment before entering Ireland.
