Private jet charter in Morocco

Morocco sits closer to London than most people picture: a business jet that leaves Farnborough after breakfast has crossed France and Spain and is over the Atlas by lunchtime. The country then turns out to be several destinations on one runway system. Casablanca takes the contracts, Marrakech the weekends, Tangier the Strait, Agadir the surf and the golf, and Fez the old city. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Morocco that means a landing permit filed with the Moroccan civil aviation authority, a handler booked at the right terminal, a slot where one is required and a plain answer on which airport saves the long drive.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Morocco depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Farnborough, an Embraer Phenom 300E flying nonstop to Marrakech Menara and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Morocco?

Morocco keeps Greenwich Mean Time all year, so its clocks match Britain in winter and run an hour behind in summer. A nine o'clock departure from the south of England therefore lands in Marrakech at about half past twelve on the Moroccan clock in winter, and at half past eleven in summer. These are the sectors to Marrakech Menara on a Phenom 300E, gate to gate, from the airfields our clients use most:

Farnborough to Marrakech
1,273 nautical miles, the usual field for Surrey, Hampshire and the Thames Valley, and the base for the price quoted at the top of the page
about 3 h 25 min
Biggin Hill to Marrakech
1,286 nautical miles, the London field for the south-east and Kent
about 3 h 25 min
London Luton to Marrakech
1,313 nautical miles, the choice for north London and the counties to the north
about 3 h 30 min
Bristol to Marrakech
1,259 nautical miles, the departure for the west of England and south Wales
about 3 h 20 min
Manchester to Marrakech
1,383 nautical miles, the departure for the north-west of England
about 3 h 40 min
Edinburgh to Marrakech
1,534 nautical miles, the main Scottish departure, about 260 nautical miles further than Farnborough
about 4 h

The coast is nearer than the Atlas. The same aircraft reaches Tangier in under three hours and Casablanca in a little over three, and the far south is a different undertaking altogether:

Farnborough to Tangier
998 nautical miles, the Strait of Gibraltar, the closest Moroccan gateway to Britain
about 2 h 45 min
Farnborough to Fez
1,100 nautical miles, the old imperial city inland
about 3 h
Farnborough to Rabat
1,109 nautical miles, the capital, with the embassies and the ministries
about 3 h
Farnborough to Casablanca
1,160 nautical miles, the commercial centre and the biggest airport
about 3 h 05 min
Farnborough to Agadir
1,368 nautical miles, the Atlantic resort coast and the surf
about 3 h 35 min
Farnborough to Dakhla
1,869 nautical miles, the lagoon and the kitesurfing, on a Praetor 600
about 4 h 50 min

The distance settles the aircraft before the budget does

A light jet such as the Phenom 300E, quoted at a range of about 2,000 nautical miles, flies every Moroccan gateway except the deep south without a stop, which is why the quote and the title price of this page are built on it. Dakhla lies 1,869 nautical miles from Farnborough, too far for comfortable reserves in a light jet, so that sector is quoted on a Praetor 600, a super-midsize jet with a quoted range of about 3,900 nautical miles.

Luggage matters as much as range: a party with golf bags, skis or a month of winter clothing is better in a Praetor 600 or a Challenger 350. The operator files the route and the overflight permissions for every state along the way before a sector is confirmed.

The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Morocco

Typical private jet charter prices from Britain to Marrakech Menara, listed cheapest first. Every row is a nonstop Phenom 300E, the smallest aircraft we price for this run. The tilt towards the south-west is plain in the order: a departure from Southampton, Cardiff or Bristol saves a couple of hundred pounds on the London fields because the Atlantic approach is shorter:

Two things worth knowing about these figures

– The departure airfield moves the price by a few thousand pounds, not by tens of thousands. Edinburgh costs about £3,000 more than Farnborough on the same aircraft and Glasgow about £2,850 more, and each hundred nautical miles adds roughly £1,150 on a Phenom 300E. The title price is the cheapest London departure, Farnborough; Southampton, at £16,250, is a little cheaper still;

– A one-way price assumes the aircraft flies back empty. For a return trip with a stay of several days the aircraft either waits in Morocco, with parking and crew accommodation as lines of their own, or flies home and returns for you, and we show both versions side by side.

Marrakech is the anchor, not the only answer. The same departure airfield costs this to the other Moroccan airports, with the aircraft shown in the second column:

Why the title says Marrakech

Tangier is the cheapest field in that list, at £13,350, because it lies about 275 nautical miles closer to London than Marrakech does. We anchor the page on Marrakech because it is the destination most British private clients ask for. Dakhla, the furthest field, costs £30,600 even on the larger aircraft it needs, which is £14,050 more than Marrakech.

Two things worth knowing about the sectors inside Morocco

– Fuel supplied on an international flight is not charged VAT, but fuel on a flight between two Moroccan airports is, and whether a foreign-registered aircraft may carry passengers between two Moroccan points is a point the operator confirms in writing. We quote an internal leg only once that answer is in hand, and often a local turboprop is the answer;

– A Pilatus PC-12 covers any of the Moroccan legs in the table in less than two hours, and the coastal ones in under one. Over the Atlas it is a fraction of the cost of a jet on the same sector.

We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Turbopropsfrom £850/h
Small jet£1,700 - 2,500/h
Light jet£2,100 - 3,000/h
Medium-sized jet (Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP)£3,000 - 3,700/h
Large medium-class jet (Challenger 300)£4,600 - 5,500/h
Large jet (Legacy 600)£4,900 - 5,800/h

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Morocco:

Business aviation airports in Morocco

Morocco has nine airports that matter to a private traveller, and the useful question is which one fits the programme, not which one is biggest:

Airport Ground How it operates
Marrakech Menara
RAK / GMMX
Southern Morocco, about 6 km south-west of the medina One runway of about 3,100 metres with an instrument approach, open round the clock as an airport of entry. Jetex and Swissport share the private aviation terminal. Slots required, handling compulsory, and traffic is heavy all year
Casablanca Mohammed V
CMN / GMMN
Nouaceur, south of the city, 113 nm from Marrakech Two parallel runways of 3,720 metres, open round the clock, customs and immigration through the FBO. Jetex is at Terminal 3, and Swissport also operates here. Slots required, handling compulsory
Rabat-Sale
RBA / GMME
Beside the capital, 61 nm from Casablanca One runway of 3,500 metres, shared with the Royal Moroccan Air Force, about 8 km east-north-east of Rabat. Jetex and Swissport are both listed. Quieter than Casablanca and closer to the ministries
Tangier Ibn Battouta
TNG / GMTT
Strait of Gibraltar, 280 nm from Marrakech A runway of 3,500 metres with an instrument approach. Swissport is listed as the handler. The closest Moroccan airport to Britain, and the one for Tangier, the Rif and the northern coast
Fez-Saiss
FEZ / GMFF
Inland north, 216 nm from Marrakech A runway of 3,200 metres, about 13 km from the city centre. Listed among the airports of entry. We confirm the handler and the opening hours for your date
Agadir Al Massira
AGA / GMAD
Atlantic south, 109 nm from Marrakech A runway of 3,200 metres, about 20 km south-east of the city. Jetex FBO with customs, handling compulsory, no slot required. The apron is busiest on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
Essaouira-Mogador
ESU / GMMI
Atlantic coast, 89 nm from Marrakech A runway of 2,100 metres, the shortest of the nine, about 15 km from the old town. Suited to turboprops and light jets. We confirm fuel, handling and hours in writing before a quote goes out
Ouarzazate
OZZ / GMMZ
South of the High Atlas, 73 nm from Marrakech A runway of about 3,100 metres at 1,153 metres above sea level, with a precision approach. The gateway to the kasbahs and the desert edge. Fuel, handling and hours confirmed in writing
Dakhla
VIL / GMMH
Atlantic far south, 658 nm from Marrakech A runway of 3,000 metres. A Jetex station is listed. Dakhla lies in Western Sahara, a disputed territory with its own British government advice, so we check the route, the insurer and the handler before quoting

Marrakech Menara does most of the work, and does it well. The private terminal, opened for general aviation, is shared by Jetex, which lists catering, concierge, crew accommodation and both a crew and an executive lounge, and by Swissport, whose executive aviation desk handles the same traffic. The airport is helicopter-friendly, and the drive to the medina takes around a quarter of an hour. Parking is first come, first served, so a stay of several days is arranged with the handler before the aircraft leaves Britain.

Casablanca Mohammed V is the right field when the meetings are in the commercial capital or in Rabat. Both runways are 3,720 metres, the airport is open round the clock, and the Jetex FBO, refurbished and with a lounge for passengers and crew, offers customs and immigration on the spot. Traffic is steady all day, so a slot is not a formality.

Rabat-Sale and Tangier are the two to remember for specific jobs. Rabat is the airport for the ministries, the embassies and the late June music festival, without the constant traffic of Casablanca. Tangier is the nearest Moroccan field to Britain, and the only sensible one for the Strait, the northern coast and a day that ends back in southern Spain.

Five points settle most Moroccan arrivals before a quote goes out:

Landing permit: allow a full day

A landing permit from the Moroccan civil aviation authority is normally needed for a commercial international flight, and the handler's guidance is a minimum of 24 working hours. The authority's office works from 08:00 to 15:00 UTC on weekdays, which is also Moroccan time, so a request after lunch on a Friday waits until Monday. We request the permit on the day the booking is made.

Slots in half-hour blocks

Marrakech and Casablanca list slots as required, in blocks of 30 minutes. Agadir does not. The slot request travels with the permit request, and the handler's written confirmation, not a database entry, is what we rely on.

Flight plan and general declaration

The flight plan is filed 24 hours ahead. The handler asks for a general declaration and copies of every passport, so the passenger and crew details leave Britain with the first request and not on the day.

Handler named in the quote

The FBO tender in Morocco went to Jetex, with Swissport in a second role at several airports. Handling is compulsory at the main fields, and the quote names the handler and the terminal, so the driver knows where to go.

Parking is not guaranteed

Apron space at Marrakech and Casablanca is allocated first come, first served. For a stay of more than a day we ask whether the aircraft stays or positions to another field and returns, and price both.

Arriving from Britain: passports, customs and what to carry

Morocco is outside the European Union and the Schengen area, but British visitors do not need a visa for a tourist stay. These are the points that decide whether the passengers pass through in minutes or are held at the desk:

Passports
valid for at least three months after the day of arrival; the British government warns that damaged passports have been refused entry, so a torn or water-marked passport is replaced before the trip
every passenger, children included
Visas
no visa is needed for a tourist stay of up to 90 days, and a longer stay is extended at a Moroccan police station; work or study needs the Moroccan consulate
up to 90 days, tourism
Money
foreign currency worth 100,000 dirhams or more, about £8,000, must be declared on arrival and departure; the dirham is a non-convertible currency, so any surplus cannot easily be changed back outside Morocco
declare in the hall
Goods
anything that may be prohibited, taxed or dutiable is declared; drugs carry severe penalties, alcohol may not be drunk in public and Moroccan customs treat prohibited items strictly
declare if in doubt
Drones and cameras
a drone needs permission from the Directorate General for Civil Aviation, and without it the penalties are a fine and confiscation; photographing sensitive political or military sites is illegal, and people, children above all, are photographed with permission
ask before you pack
Vaccination
a polio certificate is needed only for travellers arriving from a polio-affected country; routine advice is on TravelHealthPro
check for the trip

Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and most other nationalities do.

Read the travel advice before you book

The British government publishes advice for Morocco and a separate page for Western Sahara. The Morocco regional page covers the closed land and sea border with Algeria, with the instruction not to attempt to cross it. The Western Sahara advice is against all travel to the area within 40 km north and west of the Berm, the militarised boundary line, including the city of Es Semara, and to areas south and east of the Berm. The safety section says that terrorists are likely to try to carry out attacks in Morocco and that earthquakes are a risk, and it recommends a licensed operator for hot-air balloons, a professional guide in the Atlas, and travel insurance that covers the planned activity. None of the airports on this page is among the areas named, but Dakhla lies in the disputed territory, so we read the map and the insurance wording for that sector. A flight is confirmed only when the operator holds the route, the overflight permissions and the cover in writing.

passport and customs paperwork for a private jet flight

Which airport for which part of Morocco

The map shortens Morocco and the roads lengthen it. What matters is how long the car takes from the apron to the address:

Marrakech, the medina and the palm groves
the airport is about 6 km from the medina, and Oukaimeden, the Atlas ski station, is 78 km from the airport and about two hours by road
Marrakech Menara
Casablanca business district and the Hassan II Mosque
the airport lies in Nouaceur, south of the city, and the capital's airport is about 90 km north-east of Casablanca
Casablanca Mohammed V
Rabat, embassies and ministries
the airport is about 8 km east-north-east of the capital and shares its runway with the air force
Rabat-Sale
Tangier, the Strait and the northern coast
the old town stands about 23 km east of Cape Spartel at the western end of the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Tanger-Med port lies about 40 km outside the city
Tangier Ibn Battouta
Fez, the medina and the old university quarter
the airport is about 13 km from the centre; Fes el-Bali is a world heritage medina and one of the largest car-free urban zones in the world, so the last stretch is on foot
Fez-Saiss
Agadir, Taghazout and the Souss coast
the airport is about 20 km south-east of Agadir, and the surf village of Taghazout is about 19 km up the coast from the city
Agadir Al Massira
Essaouira and the Atlantic old town
the airport is about 15 km from the town, and the road from Marrakech takes close to three hours over 177 km
Essaouira-Mogador
Ouarzazate, the kasbahs and the desert edge
the town stands on the far side of the High Atlas from Marrakech, and a drive over the passes takes far longer than the flight
Ouarzazate
Dakhla and the Atlantic lagoon
the far south, in Western Sahara, with a runway of 3,000 metres and a Jetex station, reached from Britain only on a larger aircraft
Dakhla

Casablanca, the imperial cities and the Atlantic: what our clients go for

Business comes first in Casablanca. It is Morocco's economic centre, the home of the country's biggest port and its stock exchange, and the head offices of the large banks and companies. A delegation that lands there expects to be in a meeting the same afternoon, and often drives on to Rabat for the ministries the following morning.

Culture is the second reason, and the old cities are the obvious one. Marrakech is the best known, with its medina and the Jemaa el-Fna square. Fez has a world heritage medina, one of the largest car-free urban areas anywhere, built around a university whose roots go back to the ninth century. A guide with an official badge matters in both, because the British government warns of bogus guides and of pickpockets in the medinas.

The Atlantic is the third. Agadir, rebuilt to the south of the old town after the earthquake that destroyed the kasbah, has a beach of about ten kilometres, and professional golf events have been played at the Golf du Palais Royal. Taghazout and the surf spots reach north towards Cap Ghir. Essaouira offers a walled old town and a steady wind, and the Gnaoua festival in June fills it.

Tangier is the odd one out, a port city looking at Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar, with Cape Spartel and the legendary Caves of Hercules at the western end.

The Moroccan year: a mild winter, a hot interior and a cooler coast

Morocco has no single climate. The Atlantic coast is mild all year, the interior swings from cool winters to very hot summers, and the High Atlas is cold enough for snow:

November to March
daytime highs in January are about 18 degrees in Casablanca, 16 in Fez and Tangier and 21 in Agadir; Marrakech averages about 12 degrees over the day and night in January, warm in the sun and cold after dark
peak season
April and May
highs of about 21 degrees in Casablanca, 22 in Fez and 23 in Agadir in April; the interior warms quickly, and spring is the season for the imperial cities and the Atlas valleys
shoulder
June to September
Fez reaches about 35 degrees in July, while Casablanca stays near 26, Tangier about 28 and Agadir about 27; Marrakech averages about 30 degrees in August with the afternoons well above that
low season inland, high season on the coast
October and November
highs of about 24 degrees in Casablanca and Tangier, 26 in Fez and Agadir in October; the interior has cooled and the winter season starts again
shoulder, then high

Hot days, high runways and the mountains

Ouarzazate stands at 1,153 metres, and the take-off performance of an aircraft falls when a field is both high and hot. For a summer departure from Ouarzazate or Marrakech we ask the operator to confirm the payload in the quote. Oukaimeden has a ski season that depends on natural snow, helped by artificial snow, so a ski weekend is planned with a fallback.

The Moroccan calendar: festivals, the winter peak and Ramadan

The events that move private traffic are a few, and the Ramadan dates shift through the year, so they are checked before a trip is planned around them:

Christmas and New Year
The winter peak. British families fly to Marrakech and Agadir for sun at the turn of the year, with a lot of luggage, and book the aircraft for the whole fortnight
December to February
The ski season at Oukaimeden, which depends on the snow, and the season for Marrakech weekends in warm daylight
Late November
The Marrakech film festival, held from the end of November into the first week of December with screenings around the Jemaa el-Fna square
Spring
The Marrakech Biennale runs every two years from early spring, and the interior is at its greenest and mildest
Ramadan and Eid
Ramadan moves about ten days earlier each year, so the month changes and has to be looked up. Working hours shorten, daytime eating and drinking in public may cause offence, and the Eid holidays fill flights and hotels in both directions
Early June
The Fez Festival of World Sacred Music, which runs for a week to ten days, with concerts and debates in the old city
June
Marrakech du Rire, a five-day comedy festival, and the Gnaoua festival in Essaouira, which lasts four days and fills the town
Late June
Mawazine in Rabat, a world-music festival of about nine days that draws millions of visitors over seven stages and is a week to book early

Flying to Morocco with a dog or a cat

The cabin is not the problem: the animal sits beside you for the three hours and nothing goes into the hold. The paperwork is the problem. Morocco is not a country that Britain treats as listed, so an animal coming home needs a rabies blood test planned months before the flight.

The one fact to read before you book

Entry conditions for Morocco are set by the Moroccan veterinary authority, and the summaries we can check describe them as typically a 15-digit microchip, a rabies vaccination given between 21 days and six months before arrival, and a health certificate endorsed shortly before travel, with arrival within about three days of the endorsement. A vet inspects the animal on arrival, certain fighting breeds are banned, and no import permit or quarantine is listed for an ordinary pet. We confirm every item with the Moroccan side for your dates.

  • A microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination, as the return to Britain requires;
  • A rabies vaccination at least 21 days before the return to Britain, and inside the Moroccan window for the outward trip;
  • The Moroccan health certificate, endorsed shortly before departure, with the vaccination record attached;
  • For the return, a rabies blood test, because Morocco is not listed, and a Great Britain pet health certificate; GOV.UK counts three months from the date of the blood sample before an animal from a non-listed country may travel to Britain;
  • For dogs only, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival in Britain. A cat needs no treatment.

An approved travel route for the return is the last item. GOV.UK tells owners to check it, and its guidance does not say how the rule applies to a private aircraft, so we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight. An animal that does not meet the rules can be placed in quarantine for up to four months at the owner's expense.

A dog's tapeworm window for the flight home is 24 to 120 hours, so the treatment is booked with a vet in Morocco near the end of the stay. Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Morocco produces them because so many trips are one-way by nature: a family flies out for a winter fortnight, a team flies in for a conference, and the aircraft comes home or moves on.

Where Moroccan empty legs come from

– Aircraft that take a winter-sun party to Marrakech or Agadir and fly back to Britain without passengers, which is the route most often offered, especially in the days after the New Year;

– Aircraft repositioning to Marrakech, Casablanca or Rabat before a festival week or the holiday peaks, when operators move jets south from the European fleet.

A client who can offer a few days has a far better chance of a match, though the operator owns the date and a leg can disappear when the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. Typical Moroccan empty legs:

Route Aircraft Capacity Whole aircraft
Lisbon - Marrakech Phenom 300E 8 seats £2,950
Tangier - UK (London Luton) Phenom 300E 8 seats £5,800
UK (London Stansted) - Casablanca Phenom 300E 8 seats £6,650
Marrakech - UK (London Biggin Hill) Phenom 300E 8 seats £7,000
UK (London Luton) - Marrakech Phenom 300E 8 seats £7,150
Agadir - UK (Farnborough) Phenom 300E 8 seats £7,400
UK (Manchester) - Marrakech Phenom 300E 8 seats £7,500
UK (Edinburgh) - Marrakech Praetor 600 9 seats £10,750

How to read those figures

– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Phenom 300E from London Luton to Marrakech at £7,150 with six aboard comes to about £1,200 a head;

– A leg that points towards Britain is easier to find in the first days of January, and an open return date helps.

Helicopter charter

In Morocco a helicopter is not an airport shuttle but a tool for the last stretch: the road to the ski slopes, a riad or villa without a runway nearby, a coast that is long by car. What decides every rotary job is the permission for the landing site, not the machine. The times below are straight-line estimates:

Casablanca to Rabat
between the commercial capital and the administrative one, in place of the motorway
about 40 min
Casablanca to Marrakech
from the business centre to the weekend city, a morning's drive and a short flight
about 1 h 05 min
Marrakech to Essaouira
to the Atlantic coast, three hours by car and one short flight
about 55 min
Marrakech to Ouarzazate
across the High Atlas to the kasbah country, avoiding the mountain passes
about 45 min
Agadir to Essaouira
along the Atlantic coast, between the two resorts
about 45 min

The operator confirms the route for your date. Typical machines are the Airbus H125 and H130 for sightseeing and short transfers, and the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin-engine helicopter is wanted. We book the helicopter alongside the jet, so the whole itinerary is quoted as one.

Before you plan around a helicopter

The Moroccan authorities control where a helicopter may operate and over which areas, so we confirm the permission for every landing site and every overflown area before we quote. A hotel lawn, a private compound or the deck of a boat is not a site until it has been approved.

Moroccan charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

Six typical jobs put together from booking notes with the particulars changed, so none describes one named client or date.

CASABLANCA · FIXED DATES

A negotiating team and a morning meeting

London Luton - Casablanca, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 15 min · 5 pax

The meeting date came from the other side, so the slot request went in with the permit on the day of the booking, and the handler had the passport copies and the general declaration well in advance.

AGADIR · GOLF AND SURF

Six friends, bags and a fortnight on the coast

Farnborough - Agadir, Praetor 600, about 3 h 35 min · 6 pax

Golf bags and surfboards decided the aircraft, not the passenger count: a light jet would have taken the people and left the equipment behind. The handler confirmed parking, because the apron fills on the scheduled days, and the aircraft flew home empty in the meantime.

TANGIER · A LONG WEEKEND

A couple and the northern coast

London Stansted - Tangier, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 50 min · 2 pax

The closest Moroccan airport made a three-day trip workable. The party landed by lunchtime, spent two nights in the old town and the hills behind it, and flew home on the Monday morning.

FEZ · THE FESTIVAL WEEK

Four guests for the old city in early June

Manchester - Fez, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 15 min · 4 pax

The old-city guesthouses are small, so the booking was made a month ahead. The car stopped at the gate of the old city and the last stretch was on foot with a guide who held an official badge.

WITH THE DOG · THE LONG LEAD TIME

Two adults and a spaniel for a winter fortnight

Farnborough - Marrakech, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 25 min · 2 pax + dog

The paperwork began months before departure with the rabies blood test, because Morocco is not a listed country. The tapeworm treatment was booked with a vet in Morocco for the end of the stay, between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home.

EMPTY LEG · A FLEXIBLE START

A Marrakech departure with a window of three days

Manchester - Marrakech, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 3 h 40 min · 4 pax

The client gave us a window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid about £7,500, well under half of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector, for a departure on the second day of the window.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Morocco

1How long does it take to fly to Morocco by private jet?

About 3 hours 25 minutes nonstop from Farnborough to Marrakech Menara on a Phenom 300E, and 4 hours from Edinburgh. Tangier is about 2 hours 45 minutes and Agadir about 3 hours 35 minutes. Dakhla, in the far south, needs a larger aircraft and takes about 4 hours 50 minutes. Morocco keeps Greenwich Mean Time, so it matches Britain in winter and is an hour behind in summer.

2How much does a private jet to Morocco cost?

From about £16,550 one way from Farnborough to Marrakech on a Phenom 300E, the smallest aircraft we price for the nonstop run. Edinburgh costs about £3,000 more on the same aircraft. Tangier starts from £13,350, Casablanca from £15,200 and Agadir from £17,650, and short internal hops on a turboprop start from £3,100.

3Which airport should a private jet use in Morocco?

Marrakech Menara (RAK / GMMX) for Marrakech and the Atlas, with a private terminal shared by Jetex and Swissport. Casablanca Mohammed V (CMN / GMMN) for business, Rabat-Sale (RBA / GMME) for the capital, Tangier (TNG / GMTT) for the north, Fez-Saiss (FEZ / GMFF) for the old city, and Agadir Al Massira (AGA / GMAD) for the Atlantic coast. Slots are required at Marrakech and Casablanca, and handling is compulsory at the main fields.

4Do British passengers need a visa and a permit for a private flight to Morocco?

British passport holders need no visa for a tourist stay of up to 90 days. The passport must be valid for at least three months after arrival. Currency worth 100,000 dirhams or more, about £8,000, is declared, and a drone needs permission from the Moroccan civil aviation directorate. The aircraft normally needs a landing permit, which the handler asks to have at least 24 working hours ahead, and we request it on the day of the booking.

5Can a private jet fly on from Marrakech to the coast or the Atlas?

Yes, but an internal sector is a separate question from the flight from Britain. Fuel on a flight between two Moroccan airports carries VAT, and the operator confirms in writing whether a foreign-registered aircraft may carry passengers between two Moroccan points. A turboprop covers Essaouira in about 40 min. We quote the internal leg separately.

6Can I take my dog or cat to Morocco on a private jet?

Yes, in the cabin, but start early. Moroccan entry conditions are typically a microchip, a rabies vaccination and a health certificate endorsed shortly before travel, and we confirm them for your dates. For the return Morocco is not a listed country, so the animal needs a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a rabies blood test, a Great Britain pet health certificate and, for dogs, a tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. We confirm each step in writing.
