• Osh and the Fergana Valley. Osh is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, with a history of over 3,000 years. The Sulayman Mountain (Sulaiman-Too), rising abruptly from the centre of the city, is a UNESCO World Heritage site revered across the Muslim world as a place of pilgrimage. The bazaar at Osh is one of the largest and most authentic in Central Asia.

 

 

Key events in Kyrgyzstan

• World Nomad Games (September, every 2 years). A major international festival of nomadic sports and culture held on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. Events include traditional wrestling, mounted archery, eagle hunting, kok-boru and numerous other nomadic sporting traditions from across Central Asia and beyond. The 2026 edition is scheduled for September. One of the most extraordinary cultural spectacles in Central Asia and a growing driver of international private aviation demand;
• Mountaineering season (July-August). The main window for high-altitude climbing in the Tien Shan and Pamir-Alay ranges. Generates consistent private aviation demand from European and North American expedition groups;
• Nowruz (21 March). The Central Asian new year celebration, a major public holiday across Kyrgyzstan with traditional games, music and feasting;
• Issyk-Kul summer season (June-September). The lake resort season drives domestic and regional leisure aviation, and increasingly international visitors from the Gulf and European markets.
