Private jet charter in St. Moritz
Ask a London broker for a jet to St. Moritz and the first question that comes back is which airport you mean, because the resort at 1,800 metres has no runway of its own. Private Jets UK settles that before it writes a price. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. The usual answer is Samedan, ten minutes down the valley, for light and midsize jets with briefed crews and an arrival in daylight. The other answer is Zurich, about an hour away by helicopter or three hours by road, and it is the right one for large cabins, late landings and the week of the Davos forum. This page looks at the trip from the resort's side: the hotels, the lake, the lifts, the passes and the weeks of the year that fill up.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in St. Moritz depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ landing at Samedan, the airfield for St. Moritz, and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to St. Moritz?
The flight is the short part of the journey. From Biggin Hill or London City a light jet takes 1 hour 35 minutes to Samedan, or 1 hour 25 minutes if it lands at Zurich, and the clocks in Switzerland are an hour ahead of Britain. What takes the time is the last stretch to the hotel: ten minutes from Samedan, about an hour from Zurich by helicopter, about three hours by road. The table gives both gateways for every British field we use, with the aircraft that sets the price.

Two ways to reach the same hotel door
Leave a London field at seven in the morning and the clock reads a little after half past nine when the wheels touch at Samedan; the hotel is ten minutes further on, and a late breakfast in the village above the lake is realistic. The same departure into Zurich lands at about the same hour, because the sector is 10 minutes shorter, and then the day splits: a helicopter reaches the resort in about an hour, a car in about three. The decision between the two gateways is therefore worth a morning and not a night, which is why the bigger question is nearly always the aircraft and its crew, not the distance.
Which gateway for which party
– Up to five people and a long weekend, ski bags included: a light jet or a midsize into Samedan, with a car and driver waiting at the airfield. The hold fills before the seats do, so we price a midsize alongside;
– Eight or more, a large cabin, or a crew that has never flown into the valley: Zurich, then two cars or a helicopter, which takes up to five passengers a machine. The aircraft then waits or goes on to its next job, and the quote shows which;
– A landing in the evening: Zurich, whose operating window runs to 23:30 local, while Samedan has no night operation at all. A dinner reservation is not worth a diversion at dusk.

Prices for the private jet flights to St. Moritz
Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first by the Samedan figure. The Zurich column prices the same aircraft landing there, with the helicopter or the cars for the last stretch quoted on top. The weeks of the snow polo, the horse racing, Christmas and New Year sit above all of these figures.

Private jet flights from St. Moritz
A departure from the resort starts at a gateway, and the choice of gateway decides the aircraft. The turboprop hops run to the big airports, where a larger jet or a scheduled connection is waiting, and a few light-jet legs go on to the coast and home. Typical one-way prices from Samedan:

Sunday afternoons and the Swiss roads
The weekend rhythm of the resort sets the departure hour more than the aircraft does. Guests check out late on Sunday, the roads down the valley fill, and the airfield closes shortly after sunset in winter, so the return leg works best when the aircraft is told a morning or early-afternoon time and the hotel is asked for a late check-out to match. A snow shower on the Julier or the Maloja can slow the drive to Zurich or Milan, and for that reason the car to a distant gateway leaves earlier than the arithmetic says. When the party leaves from Zurich after a helicopter transfer, the same rule applies to the rotor, which depends on daylight and on the weather.
Before you accept a St. Moritz quote
– Which airport it names. A price to St. Moritz is a price to Samedan, to Zurich with a transfer, or to a helicopter; a quote that does not say which has not been checked;
– What happens to the aircraft. For a weekend the jet either waits in the valley, or goes home and returns, or is positioned to Zurich, and each of these is a different bill. The line should be visible;
– Who meets you. A hotel driver, a car we send, or a helicopter pilot at the heliport need different information: the airport, the handler and the hotel, not just the name of the resort;
– Whether the legs are one booking. The Engadin followed by Milan, Lake Como or the coast costs noticeably less arranged as one trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.

Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for St. Moritz:
Light jets, the weekend choice
For four or five guests with the usual luggage this is the class that makes sense, and the sector from the south of England is short enough to be pleasant. Spend the saving on the car, the table and the room with the lake view.
Midsize, for a winter week
Ski bags, boots, evening dress and a heavy coat for every guest fill a hold quickly. A midsize cabin is chosen for the hold as often as for the seats.
Super-midsize
For a family party or a team that wants to work in flight. Into Samedan this is the top of what we quote; for anything above it the plan moves to Zurich.
Turboprops
The Pilatus PC-12 and the King Air 350 link the Engadin to the large airports: about 40 minutes to Zurich and Milan, and 50 to 55 minutes to Munich and Geneva. On short Alpine sectors they cost far less than a jet.
Helicopters
For the stretch between a hotel or villa and the nearest airport, and for the mountain flying that the Engadin operators sell. Landing sites are controlled, so the site is agreed before the quote is written.

This is a small part of what is available. Only a limited number of operators and crews know the Samedan approach, so many aircraft for the Engadin are positioned from Zurich, from northern Italy or from the south of France, and a quote may name one of those fields as its starting point. That is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports for St. Moritz
Five airports serve the resort in practice, and the useful way to rank them is by the time from the runway to the hotel and not by the length of the flight. Samedan is first when the aircraft, the crew and the daylight agree. The others come in on the days they do not, or when the trip is part of a longer route.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Samedan Engadin Airport (Samedan, Graubünden) SMV / LSZS |
The airfield of the resort, 5 to 8 km from St. Moritz depending on the source and about 10 minutes by car, at 1,707 m above sea level. One runway, daylight operation only, a mandatory pilot briefing and no instrument landing system; the airport company handles fuel, ground power, de-icing and catering. In short, this is the gateway for light and midsize jets that arrive in the morning |
| Zurich (Kloten, Canton of Zurich) ZRH / LSZH |
The gateway for large cabins and for evening arrivals. Three runways, a General Aviation Centre and customs on site, and an operating window that ends at 23:30. The resort is about 200 km away: about three hours by car over the Julier or through the Vereina car shuttle from Klosters, around an hour by helicopter, or three hours by train from the main station. A PC-12 to Samedan takes about 40 minutes |
| Milan (Malpensa and Linate) MXP / LIMC · LIN / LIML |
The southern approach, over the Maloja Pass and past Lake Como. By road, Linate is about 179 km and three hours from St. Moritz and Malpensa about 193 km and a little over three hours. Choose it when the trip comes from the Mediterranean or continues to Italy, because the drive is long and the Maloja can be closed for hours by snow |
| Innsbruck (Tyrol, Austria) INN / LOWI |
Three to four hours from St. Moritz by road, over the Austrian border and up the Engadin valley. It makes sense for a party that is combining Tyrol with the Engadin or that arrives from the east. Austria is in Schengen, so the entry is Austrian and the onward leg stays inside the area |
| Lugano (Agno, Ticino) LUG / LSZA |
The Italian-speaking side of Switzerland, 53 nm from Samedan. The Palm Express postbus covers the 130 km to St. Moritz over the Maloja in about three and a half hours, so a car can be quicker, and a PC-12 hop quicker still. Worth a look when the trip combines the Engadin with Ticino |
Four points settle most arrivals at the resort:
Permits and the aircraft
Britain is outside the EU and EFTA, and the Swiss aviation office, FOCA, treats a charter on such an aircraft as needing a permit: one permit covers up to three flights in three months and is requested at least 72 hours before the first flight, while a chain of four or more flights needs an operating permit filed at least 30 days ahead. Samedan adds its own rule that every pilot completes the airport briefing and test. Which category a booking falls into is confirmed with the operator.
Hours and daylight
Samedan works in daylight, with summer hours of 06:00 to 17:00 UTC and winter hours from 07:00 UTC to 30 minutes after sunset. Zurich runs to 23:30 local and is slot-coordinated. Whichever gateway you pick, the handler confirms parking and the arrival time in writing before the quote becomes a booking.
Border and passport
Switzerland is in Schengen but outside the EU, and Britain is in neither. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years before arrival and valid three months beyond departure. A first-time visitor may be asked for a photograph and fingerprints, and the border can ask for proof of accommodation, insurance and funds.
Cars and passes
The Julier Pass, at 2,284 m, is open all year, with winter equipment compulsory in winter. The Albula Pass, at 2,312 m, is closed for the winter, usually from late autumn to spring, and the railway goes under it. The Maloja Pass is open in winter, but snow can close it for hours or a day. Give us the hotel as well as the flight, because a driver who knows only the airport may wait at the wrong door.

Border, passport and customs
Switzerland is not in the EU customs union, so a flight from Britain is dealt with twice: as a Schengen border for the passengers and as a Swiss customs border for the goods. The federal rules require flights from abroad to arrive at, or stop over at, an airport with customs, and Samedan offers customs services during its operating hours. For a party with anything to declare, we confirm the customs position of the day with the handler before the booking. When the daylight, the paperwork or the aircraft do not fit, the first landing is made at Zurich and the party continues by helicopter, car or a short hop. On the way home, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed between 48 hours and 2 hours before departure, and our handler files it with the crew.

From the lake to the lifts
St. Moritz sits at about 1,800 m and is home to under five thousand people all year. It has hosted the Winter Olympics twice and the Alpine World Ski Championships several times. The town has two parts that matter to a visitor: St. Moritz Dorf, the upper village of the grand hotels, shops and the funicular station, and St. Moritz Bad at the lake end, the site of the heliport. The railway station is the terminus of the Albula and Bernina lines of the Rhaetian Railway, and both the Bernina Express and the Glacier Express stop there. The distances that matter to a private client are these:
a short drive down the valley, 5 to 8 km depending on the sourceabout 10 minutes
about 200 km through Chur, with winter equipment needed over the Julierabout 3 hours
through Chiavenna and over the Maloja Passabout 3 hours
the snow polo organisers quote three to four hours from Zurich, Milan, Munich and Innsbruck alike3 to 4 hours
for a larger aircraft that lands at Zurich, up to five passengersabout 1 hour
130 km by postbus over the Maloja, seat reservation requiredabout 3 h 30 min
the funicular from the village to the ski area at 2,486 m, with a cable car on to Piz Nair above 3,000 mby funicular
Pontresina at 1,805 m, then the Bernina line to the Diavolezza cable car, which rises from 2,096 m to nearly 3,000 mby rail
The resort has more than one valley behind it. Pontresina, at 1,805 m, lies up the valley on the Bernina line and has the Grand Hotel Kronenhof and the approaches to the Morteratsch glacier. The Diavolezza cable car, which begins at a station on the same line, takes visitors to a terrace with views of Piz Bernina and the Pers glacier, and in winter it opens a ski area that is known for steep runs and for snow that often lasts into May. Zuoz, at 1,716 m, is a traditional Engadin village further down the valley beyond Samedan, with a boarding school, a small family ski area and a golf course in summer. A day on the Bernina Express, which reaches 2,253 m at the Ospizio Bernina station on its way to Tirano in Italy, is a standard excursion, while the Glacier Express to Zermatt takes about eight hours and crosses the Landwasser Viaduct on the way. From the air the same peaks are a short flight from Samedan, with a guide where the landing is off the ski area.
The hotels and how the guests arrive
The grand hotels of St. Moritz are one reason for the resort's reputation, and they are a practical matter for a charter booking. Badrutt's Palace has 112 rooms and 43 suites, and the Kulm Hotel, where the Badrutt family's hospitality in the town began, is a short distance away. The Suvretta House, on Via Chasellas, hosts the classic car concours in July. Several of these hotels close between seasons: the Kulm, for instance, usually opens for a summer season from mid-June to the end of August and a winter season from early December to the end of March, and we do not plan a flight before we know the house is open.
For arrivals, the Kulm's own guidance describes a private flight from Milan Malpensa to Samedan and then a train or a transfer into the town, and a car can be arranged through the hotel or by us. What matters to the booking is that the car, the aircraft and the hotel work to the same arrival time and the same handler's name, because the hotel's driver is looking for a particular building.
Flying to St. Moritz with a dog or a cat
A dog is a normal guest in an Alpine resort in winter, and the cabin of a private jet is the easy part: the animal sits beside you and does not go in the hold. The difficulty lies on the ground. Switzerland is outside the EU and runs its own import rules, and the airport at which the animal first enters the country is something we agree in writing before the aircraft is booked.

What the Swiss veterinary office asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination;
- A rabies vaccination given immediately after the microchip, from 12 weeks of age, which becomes valid 21 days later;
- Where the animal has no Swiss or EU pet passport, as on a first trip, an official veterinary certificate from the country of departure, with its validity checked against the Swiss rule on the day;
- Presentation of the animal at the red customs exit. The Swiss guidance names Basel, Geneva and Zurich for accompanied animals arriving by air, so for a dog or a cat we plan the first landing at Zurich unless Samedan is confirmed in writing;
- No dogs with docked ears or tails, which Switzerland does not allow in;
- For dogs on the way home, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing in Britain, recorded with the product, the date and the time. Cats do not need it.
What catches owners out in the Engadin
– The entry airport. The official guidance names Zurich, Geneva and Basel for pets arriving by air and does not mention a private flight into a smaller field. That is why we ask first and put the answer in writing;
– The vet in the valley. The tapeworm treatment has to fall inside the 24 to 120 hours before the flight home, so the appointment is made on arrival and counted back from the departure time. If the flight moves by a day, the window moves with it;
– The docked tail. A spaniel or a terrier with a docked tail is turned away at the Swiss border, and nothing at the airport can fix that. Check the animal and not only the papers.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the entry point and the paperwork on the way home, we confirm them in writing before the flight.
The St. Moritz year: winter first, jazz and cars in July
The Engadin runs on a long winter and a handful of events, most of which happen on the frozen lake. The calendar below gives the usual months, and the exact dates are checked each season, because an event week changes both the price and the availability of aircraft, rooms and cars.
What fills up in an event week
The aircraft are rarely the problem. The European light and midsize fleet is large, and the Alps are well placed in it. What runs out are the rooms in the village, the cars with winter tyres and drivers, the helicopter hours and the apron space at a one-runway field, all in the same few days. A booking made a fortnight before the polo can still be done, but it costs more and it may mean an aircraft positioned from Zurich or Milan. Five or six weeks ahead it is simpler and cheaper, and outside the event weeks a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the St. Moritz price down
- Move the dates off Christmas, New Year and the polo and racing weekends. Mid-January after the holidays and the weeks around the Skimarathon are calmer;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that is already at Zurich, Milan or Innsbruck needs less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a real part of the bill;
- Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved pays for the car and the hotel;
- Leave the Sunday return flexible. A window of two or three days on the way out of the valley gives us room to find an aircraft that is going your way.
Types of flights
The mix of trips to St. Moritz is narrower than for a city, because almost everyone goes to one small resort for one of a few reasons:
- Winter holidays, from a long weekend to a fortnight, with skis, boots and a car and driver waiting at the field;
- Event weekends around the snow polo, the White Turf and the Skimarathon, with a fixed date and a hotel booked months ahead;
- Summer stays in July and August, for the jazz festival, the classic cars, walking and the Bernina railway;
- Parties of eight and more, who land at Zurich and continue by helicopter or road;
- Heliskiing and mountain flights from Samedan for guests who are already in the resort;
- Onward legs from the Engadin to Milan, the coast and Paris, flown in daylight.
The weekend deserves a closer look. Leave London on a Friday morning and you are in the resort before lunch, with an afternoon on the lake. A Sunday return means the aircraft and crew wait for you, and the waiting is paid for, but it comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. In winter the Sunday departure has to clear the field before dusk, and on this route we quote the day both ways so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, sold at a fraction of the normal price. The Engadin has a strong seasonal pattern, so empty legs appear in waves, and it helps to know what creates them.
Where St. Moritz empty legs come from
– Weekend changeovers. An aircraft brings one party on a Friday or Saturday and goes home empty on the Sunday, or comes out empty to collect the next, so the weekend legs between the Engadin and the London fields are the ones most often offered;
– After the big weeks. Once the polo, the racing and the Skimarathon are over, the aircraft that brought guests are sent home or on to the next job, and some of those legs run through Zurich or Milan;
– The end of the season. In late March and early April operators bring their aircraft back from winter positions, and those legs are often priced low.
The Alpine corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, so a client who can name a few days has a far better chance than one who needs a particular Sunday. The usual price of that is that the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can disappear when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a St. Moritz match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In St. Moritz a helicopter earns its fee on the stretches a car cannot do quickly: the leg from Zurich for a larger aircraft, the hop to a villa or a hotel without a runway, and the mountains themselves. Two operators have their base at the Samedan airfield, at Plazza Aviatica 4: Heli Bernina and Swiss Helicopter. Before you plan around a helicopter
– Weather sets the schedule. Low cloud in the valley, including the one pilots call the Maloja snake, can stop a rotor on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a mountain transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– Landing away from a heliport needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, and mountain landings outside the ski areas are made with a certified guide. A hotel lawn or a villa terrace is a question we ask before the quote, not after it;
– In the busiest weeks, book the helicopter with the jet or accept that no rotary capacity may be left.
The machines used on this ground are the Airbus H125 for the mountains, the wider H130 for scenic flights and villa transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and larger helicopters for bigger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

St. Moritz charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote becomes a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
FAMILY WEEK · THE HOLD DECIDED
Four adults, two children and a week of skis
Farnborough - Samedan, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 35 min · 6 pax
The seat count said a light jet, the skis and boots said a midsize. The quote showed both, and the family took the larger cabin so that nothing had to travel separately. A driver met them at the airfield and the hotel had the rooms ready for a mid-morning arrival.
POLO WEEKEND · THE LAKE AND THE DORF
Six guests for the snow polo
London Luton - Samedan, Phenom 300E, about 1 h 30 min · 6 pax
The booking was made two months ahead because the weekend fills rooms and cars first. The aircraft waited at the airfield for the two days, which is a line in the quote, and the Sunday departure was set for midday so that it cleared the field comfortably before dusk.
WHITE TURF · A SUNDAY ON THE ICE
Racing day and back for the evening
Biggin Hill - Samedan and return, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 35 min each way · 4 pax
Out in the morning, lunch in the tent village beside the track, and a late-afternoon return that left before the winter closing time. The party kept the aircraft on the apron rather than send it home, and the cost still came in below two one-way charters.
A BIG PARTY · ZURICH AND THE HELICOPTERS
Ten guests, too many for one helicopter
Farnborough - Zurich, Challenger 605, about 1 h 20 min · 10 pax
The party was larger than we would send into the valley, so the aircraft landed at Zurich and two helicopters carried the guests up while the luggage followed by car. A car was in the plan from the start as the answer to cloud over the pass, and it was used on the way down.
A DOG ON BOARD · WINTER WEEK
Two adults and a labrador
Bristol - Zurich, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 35 min · 2 pax + dog
The dog entered Switzerland through Zurich, where the papers were checked at the red exit, and the party drove up to the Engadin. A vet appointment in the valley for the tapeworm treatment was booked to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING NORTH
A jet already going your way
Samedan - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 30 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party out for the weekend and was returning empty. The client offered a three-day window instead of a fixed date, which is what makes these work, and paid well under a fresh one-way charter for an afternoon departure.
Frequently asked questions about flying to St. Moritz
1Is there an airport in St. Moritz?
No. The resort has a heliport at St. Moritz-Bad, but no runway. The nearest airfield is Samedan Engadin Airport (SMV / LSZS), 5 to 8 km away depending on the source and about 10 minutes by car, which takes light, midsize and super-midsize jets in daylight. Larger aircraft land at Zurich (ZRH / LSZH), about 200 km away, and the party continues by helicopter in about an hour, by car in about three hours or by train in about three.
2How long is a private jet flight from London to St. Moritz?
About 1 hour 35 minutes from London City and Biggin Hill to Samedan in a light jet, and around 1 hour 30 minutes from Luton in a Phenom, over roughly 502 to 534 nautical miles. From Bristol, Birmingham or Manchester allow about 1 hour 45 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 5 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes in a Challenger. Landing at Zurich instead takes about 1 hour 25 minutes from Biggin Hill. Switzerland is one hour ahead of Britain.
3How much does a private jet to St. Moritz cost?
From about £7,550 one way on a light jet from Biggin Hill to Samedan, and £7,650 from London City. A Phenom from Farnborough or Luton runs £7,900 to £8,000, a midsize cabin costs £9,950 to £10,800 from the south and the Midlands, and from Scotland allow £16,700 to £17,100. The same light jet to Zurich costs from £6,600, with the helicopter or the cars on top. The weeks of the snow polo, the racing, Christmas and New Year price above these figures.
4How do I get from Zurich to St. Moritz?
By helicopter in about an hour, for up to five passengers a machine; by car in about three hours over about 200 km, through Chur and the Julier Pass, which is open all year but needs winter equipment; or by train from the main station in about three hours. A Pilatus PC-12 flies from Zurich to Samedan in about 40 minutes, which is the quickest option for a party that can use the airfield in daylight.
5When is the best time to fly to St. Moritz?
For skiing, from the weeks after Christmas to March, with the snow polo in late January, the White Turf on three Sundays in February and the Engadin Skimarathon on the second Sunday of March as the event weeks. Summer is smaller and quieter, with the Festival da Jazz and the classic car meeting in July. The event weeks cost more and sell out first, so we book them as early as the dates are known, and we check which hotels are open before we plan a flight in the shoulder seasons.
6Can I take my dog to St. Moritz on a private jet?
Yes, with preparation. The dog travels in the cabin with you. Switzerland asks for a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given from 12 weeks of age and valid 21 days later, and an official veterinary certificate on a first trip. The official guidance names Zurich, Geneva and Basel for pets arriving by air, so we plan the first landing at Zurich unless Samedan is confirmed in writing. On the way home a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
