Private jet charter in Rotterdam

From a London airfield to the Maas is a flight of about three quarters of an hour, and the planning that matters happens on the Dutch side: which of the country's airfields to use, whether Schiphol will take a business jet at all, and what the port and The Hague ask of your day. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around those answers. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Rotterdam The Hague Airport has one 2,199 m runway, a Jet Aviation terminal with customs on the premises and a position about 5.5 km from the city centre, so the real decisions are the date, the cabin size and the question every Dutch trip raises: Rotterdam or Amsterdam.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Rotterdam depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Rotterdam?

Forty-five minutes to an hour and a quarter from the British fields in a light or midsize jet, and about an hour and twenty from Glasgow, with one hour of clock difference to add on arrival because the Netherlands keeps Central European time. At 172 to 407 nautical miles this is one of the shortest corridors we fly, and on the southern routes the distance hardly matters: the figures below include taxi, climb and approach, which make up most of the flight. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall

Leave a London airfield at eight in the morning and you are on the ground at Rotterdam a little before ten local time, since the Netherlands is an hour ahead of Britain. The airport is about 5.5 km north-north-west of the city, and a car from the Jet Aviation terminal typically reaches the centre in 15 minutes or so, which puts a client who left a London office at half past seven at a desk in Rotterdam before lunch. Count the drive to the British airfield and the short queues at both ends, and the journey from central London to central Rotterdam is nearer two and a half hours than three.

Light jet or midsize: here the runway never decides

– Up to five or six people with ordinary bags, take the light jet. Forty-five minutes is no test of a small cabin, and the saving against a midsize is the biggest line on the quote, because on a hop this short every light jet is priced near the operator's minimum. The 2,199 m runway takes a Citation CJ3+ or a Phenom 300E without a second thought;

– With a bigger party, a conference kit or a dog, a midsize jet such as the Citation XLS+ is a small step up in cost and a large one in room. Rotterdam has no performance problem with it. The limit is the hold and the cabin, not the airport;

– Large and long-range jets are different. Rotterdam asks for a coordinated slot from aircraft above 45 tonnes, which is where the biggest Globals and Gulfstreams sit, and wants permission 24 hours ahead for the larger airliner-based VIP types. Both are quick to arrange, but they have to be arranged before the quote is final.

Prices for the private jet flights to Rotterdam

Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all of them into Rotterdam The Hague Airport on light and midsize jets. Several rows show the same figure because a hop this short is billed at the operator's minimum charge and not by the mile. North Sea Jazz week, the World Port Days and the film festival sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

The Netherlands from the air: when the obvious airport says no

Amsterdam Schiphol is only 25 nautical miles from Rotterdam, and for a business jet that closeness is the trap. General aviation at Schiphol is slot-coordinated, with an approved slot needed before the flight, and the published capacity declaration allows no general aviation slots at all in the night period, which runs from 23:00 to 07:00 local time. Certain older and noisier aircraft types are barred outright. Rotterdam, by contrast, coordinates slots only for aircraft above 45 tonnes or with 20 seats or more, and its business terminal is a 24-hour operation that asks for prior permission between 23:00 and 06:00. So a client with an Amsterdam meeting often lands in Rotterdam, drives, and leaves from Rotterdam in the evening. A Pilatus PC-12 covers the Schiphol hop itself in about 25 minutes, but a Schiphol slot still has to be approved first.

Before you accept a Dutch onward quote

– Which airfield, and at what hour. A quote that says only Amsterdam has not been checked against the slot rules, and a quote that puts a late evening departure at Schiphol will change. Ask for the airport code and the slot status in writing;

– Whether the border is behind you. Rotterdam to Düsseldorf, Paris or Frankfurt is a hop inside the Schengen area with no passport control, but the first landing from Britain is where the formalities happen, so a combined itinerary is best booked as a single trip;

– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Rotterdam to Paris to Geneva and back costs less arranged as a single trip than as three, because the aircraft and crew stay with you and do not return to base between legs.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Rotterdam:

Light jets, and where most bookings land

At 45 minutes to an hour this is the natural class for four or five people with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range for Rotterdam, so the money goes on the hour and not on capability you will not use.

HondaJet Elite · 5 seatsfrom £1,900/h
Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen2 · 8 seatsfrom £2,700/h

Midsize, for the delegation and the conference kit

Presentation cases, a laptop for each person and a week of luggage are what push a party past the light-jet hold. The runway is long enough for every aircraft in this group.

Learjet 75 Liberty · 8 seatsfrom £3,000/h
Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h

Super-midsize and large

For a delegation travelling as one party, for a team that works in the air, and for trips that carry on from Rotterdam to the Gulf or beyond. The heaviest long-range jets need a coordinated slot at Rotterdam, so we ask for it early.

Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h
Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,350/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h
Gulfstream G450 · 13 seatsfrom £5,800/h

Turboprops

The right aircraft for the Dutch and Rhineland hops: Amsterdam and Düsseldorf are well under an hour, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large.

Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,650/h

Helicopters

Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: the port seen from above, a transfer between Rotterdam, The Hague and Schiphol, and a private site with no runway. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote.

Airbus H130 · 6 seatson request
Airbus H135 · 6 seatson request
Bell 429 · 6 seatson request

online private jet directory

This is a small part of what is available. Rotterdam has Amsterdam, Brussels, Antwerp and the Rhineland all close by, so outside the event weeks there is often an aircraft already within an hour of the airport, and that is where the better price usually comes from.

Business aviation airports in Rotterdam

One airport does the work, and three others get mentioned in the same breath. Each of them behaves differently, and it helps to know how before a quote arrives with one of them in it.

Airport What it gives you
Rotterdam The Hague Airport
RTM / EHRD
The answer for almost every trip, and for The Hague as well. About 3 nautical miles, or 5.5 km, north-north-west of central Rotterdam, with one asphalt runway, 06/24, of 2,199 by 45 metres. Business aviation is handled by Jet Aviation in the terminal that used to be the KLM Jet Center, with immigration and customs on the premises and handling listed round the clock. Slots are needed only for aircraft above 45 tonnes or with 20 seats or more, and airliner-sized VIP aircraft need permission asked 24 hours in advance
Amsterdam Schiphol
AMS / EHAM
The big neighbour, 25 nautical miles away, with six runways and a longest one of 3,800 m. Business jets are accepted only against an ad hoc general aviation slot requested from the slot coordinator and approved before departure, there are no general aviation slots in the night period from 23:00 to 07:00 local, and a list of aircraft types is excluded. Right for a daytime meeting in Amsterdam, wrong for a flexible or late schedule
Lelystad
LEY / EHLE
The daytime alternative for Amsterdam, about 52 nautical miles from Rotterdam and 40 to 45 minutes by road from Amsterdam. A 2,700 m runway, open to civil traffic up to a 36 m wingspan, and described as the largest general aviation airport in the Netherlands. Customs and immigration are available during airport hours on three hours' notice, handling is limited and provided by the airport on request, and flights to or from non-Schengen countries need a general declaration filed at least two hours ahead. There are no scheduled passenger flights
Eindhoven
EIN / EHEH
A joint military and civil airfield in the south of the country. Arriving aircraft need prior permission from the air base, and the military handler does not serve civil visitors. Business aircraft are reported to have been barred from the civil side by a local policy, so we treat Eindhoven as unavailable for a charter unless the airport confirms in writing

Four points settle most Rotterdam arrivals:

Choose the handler

There is little to choose. Handling is compulsory for general aviation aircraft not based at the airport, and the business aviation handler is Jet Aviation. Its terminal has two passenger lounges, the larger of them divisible for a private party, a conference room, two crew rooms and a pilot lounge with a shower. Hotel, catering and de-icing arrangements go through the same desk.

Hours, slots and noise

Jet Aviation lists the terminal as a 24-hour operation, with prior permission required between 23:00 and 06:00, so a late departure after a dinner is possible if it is arranged first. Chapter 2 aircraft and noisy Chapter 3 aircraft are not accepted. Fire cover is category 7, raised on request with 24 hours' notice for larger aircraft.

Border and passport

The Netherlands is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border at the Jet Aviation terminal, where immigration and customs sit on the premises. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport under ten years old and valid three months beyond departure. A first-time visitor may be sent to register fingerprints and a photograph.

Car and late nights

Give us the handler as well as the flight, because a driver told only airport may wait at the wrong door. For the film festival, the jazz weekend and the port days, put the late car and crew in the quote from the start. If a leg ends in Amsterdam, plan the road transfer in the same booking.

business aviation

Border, passport and the way home

Because the Netherlands is inside Schengen, the first landing is where the formalities happen, and everything after that, a hop to Düsseldorf or a drive to Antwerp, is free of border control. The way home runs the other way. Britain expects a General Aviation Report filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, and many passengers who are not British or Irish citizens need an electronic travel authorisation, or a visa, before they board. We arrange the filing with the handler and keep the timings visible, so the aircraft is not held on the apron.

From the apron to the Maas

Rotterdam is a port city built around the river, and the airport sits to its north, close enough that the city feels like part of the approach. The distances that matter are the short ones, to the centre and to the other Dutch cities, and the one that explains the whole place: the port, which is about 40 km long.

Flying to Rotterdam with a dog or a cat

The Netherlands asks for a little paperwork and a customs declaration, and the flight is the easy part: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector this short most of them sleep through it. What matters is that the certificate is dated correctly, because it has a ten-day life for entry into the EU.

private flight with animals

What the Netherlands asks for:

  • An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination and not after it;
  • A rabies vaccination, with 21 days elapsed before the animal travels. No blood test is required from Britain, and the vaccination must be recorded in the certificate and not in a British pet passport;
  • An Animal Health Certificate issued in Britain for this trip, valid for ten days for entry to the EU and valid for the return as stated on the certificate;
  • The animal reported to Dutch customs on arrival as goods to declare. At Rotterdam this is done at the terminal, where customs sit on the premises;
  • No more than five animals per traveller. Animals that were bought in Britain and are not collected by the buyer, or groups above five, are inspected at a designated border post, which in the Netherlands is only Amsterdam Schiphol;
  • For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before the flight back to Britain, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt. The Netherlands asks for no tapeworm treatment on the way in.

What catches owners out on the Rotterdam run

– The tapeworm window is for the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in the Netherlands, towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time on the return flight and not from the date;

– A pet passport issued in Britain cannot be used to enter the EU. The certificate has to be a fresh one for each trip, and the rabies vaccination has to stay valid for the whole stay, because the way home depends on it;

– A jazz weekend with a dog is an ordinary booking. Settle the hotel and any onward helicopter before the quote, because each one has to accept the animal separately.

Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the flight back we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.

The Rotterdam calendar: a port city with a festival year

Rotterdam has no single high season. Weekdays belong to the port and the offices, and the pressure points are a film festival in winter, a marathon and King's Day in spring, a jazz festival in July and the port's open days in September. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.

Late Jan to early Feb
The International Film Festival Rotterdam fills the city in the coldest weeks of the year. A cultural fortnight rather than a corporate one, so expect short city-break charters and guests who book their rooms early
April
The Rotterdam Marathon is run in April. Road closures follow the route, so a transfer through the centre needs extra time on the morning
Late April
King's Day brings street parties and boat parades to the city. The Netherlands turns orange, the roads slow down and a late car is worth ordering in advance
Late May and June
Rooftop Days in late May and Architecture Month in June are city events and not corporate ones, so demand around them is steady rather than sharp
Mid-July
North Sea Jazz takes over Ahoy Rotterdam. The pressure falls on rooms near the venue, on cars and on the one business aviation terminal, all of them in the same few days
Early September
World Port Days, the port's own festival. For a city built on its harbour this is the week when the shipping side of Rotterdam is on show, and business hosts and leisure visitors arrive together
All year, on weekdays
The port itself: shipping, commodities, energy and chemicals. The refineries lie west of the city, and port business produces short fixed-date trips that are back in Britain the same evening

Why a jazz week costs more

Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Rotterdam is well placed in it. What gets tight is rooms near Ahoy, good cars and the parking positions at the one business aviation terminal, all in the same days. A booking made a fortnight before North Sea Jazz or the film festival can still be done, but it pays more, and it may mean an aircraft positioned from Brussels or Düsseldorf. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Rotterdam is one of the easier cities in Europe to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.

Ways to bring the Rotterdam price down

  • Move the dates a few days where you can. The week after North Sea Jazz is calm, and so is the second half of October;
  • Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Rotterdam, Amsterdam or Antwerp takes less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector this short positioning is a meaningful share of the bill;
  • Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved buys the car and the hotel.

Types of flights

Rotterdam produces a different mix from the Alpine or the Mediterranean destinations we cover, because the city is a port first, a design and music city second, and the airport for The Hague at the same time.

  • Port, shipping and commodity business, with fixed meeting dates, a small team and a request to be back in Britain the same evening;
  • Energy and chemical industry travel, tied to the refineries and terminals west of the city;
  • Government and diplomatic trips to The Hague, where state and military aircraft already use the airport often;
  • Event weekends, mostly the film festival, the marathon, King's Day and North Sea Jazz;
  • Overflow from Schiphol, for clients whose Amsterdam plans do not fit a slot or a night curfew;
  • Onward hops across the Benelux and the Rhineland, often tied in with a Rotterdam stop.

Rotterdam is one of the easiest day trips from London. Wheels up at half past seven, on the ground a little after nine local time, and away again at six in the evening gives you most of a working day in the Netherlands and a bed in your own house. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. On this route we quote the day trip both ways so the difference is visible.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Rotterdam route they come from the pattern of events and from the Dutch slot rules rather than from sheer volume, and it helps to know what produces them.

Where Rotterdam empty legs come from

– Event weekends. Aircraft bring guests in for the film festival or the jazz weekend and go back to their bases empty on the Sunday, and that evening leg is the one most often offered;

– The Schiphol squeeze. When an operator cannot get an Amsterdam slot or has to be gone before the night period, the aircraft is often positioned through Rotterdam, and the short legs on either side can be cheap;

– Benelux rotation. Operators moving aircraft between Rotterdam, Brussels, Antwerp and the Rhineland put short regional legs on the market, and those hops can be the cheapest of all.

Because the Dutch corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Rotterdam match the day an operator releases it.

empty legs

Helicopter charter

In Rotterdam a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The centre is small enough to cross by car, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are the port, the short run between Dutch cities and any site with no road worth the name.

Rotterdam airport to Amsterdam Schiphol
25 nm, against about an hour by road, though a slot at Schiphol is a condition of the flight
typically 15 minutes
Rotterdam to The Hague
the seat of government next door, a trip a helicopter turns into a few minutes
typically 10 minutes
A sightseeing loop of the port
the Maas, the bridges and the container terminals, which only make sense from the air
typically 30 minutes

Before you plan around a helicopter

– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, so we check the status of a hotel lawn or a private garden before we quote. The heliport at the Maasvlakte is used exclusively for maritime piloting, so it is not a drop-off point for passengers;

– North Sea weather sets the schedule. Fog, low cloud and wind can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;

– For North Sea Jazz and King's Day, book the helicopter together with the jet, or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.

The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for short transfers and scenic work, the wider H130 for villa and hotel landings, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Rotterdam charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.

DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK

A morning at the port and home for dinner

Biggin Hill - Rotterdam and return, Citation CJ3+, about 45 min each way · 4 pax

Wheels up at half past seven, on the ground a little after nine local time, in the meeting by ten and back at Biggin Hill before nine in the evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the Jet Aviation terminal rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. It is a short day and it works.

NORTH SEA JAZZ · A WEEKEND AT AHOY

Six friends and a festival ticket each

Farnborough - Rotterdam, Phenom 300E, about 50 min · 6 pax

They booked the festival weekend without knowing how tight the rooms and the cars would be. The aircraft was the easy part. We put the hotel, the airport car and the Sunday evening return in one message, and the trip ran without a single phone call from the apron.

SCHIPHOL IS FULL · THE OTHER AIRPORT WON

A dinner in Amsterdam and a departure after dark

London Luton - Rotterdam, Citation XLS+, about 45 min · 5 pax

The client asked for Amsterdam. Schiphol takes general aviation only against an approved slot and has none in the night period, and the dinner would end after it began. We flew into Rotterdam, put a car on the motorway and kept the return at the Jet Aviation terminal, where prior permission for the late hour was arranged in advance.

THE HAGUE · A DELEGATION

Eight people, folders and a protocol car

Farnborough - Rotterdam, Citation XLS+, about 50 min · 8 pax

The meeting was at a ministry in The Hague, and Rotterdam is the airport that serves it. The handler arranged the passport check at the terminal, a protocol car stood at the aircraft door, and the group was on the road within minutes of landing.

A DOG ON BOARD · A SPRING WEEKEND

Four adults and a spaniel for the marathon

Southampton - Rotterdam, Phenom 300E, about 50 min · 4 pax + dog

The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, the dog was declared to customs at the terminal, and the vet appointment in Rotterdam for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, and the hotel took the dog.

EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING WEST

A jet already going your way

Rotterdam - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 45 min · 3 pax

The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Rotterdam

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Rotterdam?

About 45 minutes from Biggin Hill, London City or Luton in a light jet, and around 50 minutes from Farnborough, covering roughly 172 to 207 nautical miles from the London fields. From Birmingham or Manchester allow about 55 minutes to an hour in a midsize cabin, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow an hour and a quarter to an hour and twenty minutes. The Netherlands is one hour ahead of Britain, so an eight o'clock departure lands shortly before ten local time.

2How much does a private jet to Rotterdam cost?

From about £5,300 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill or London City, and £5,700 from Luton or Farnborough in a Phenom. A midsize cabin from Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol starts at £6,800, and from Scotland allow £7,650 to £8,050. Several routes show the same price because short sectors are billed at a minimum charge. North Sea Jazz, the World Port Days and the film festival price above these figures.

3Which airport should a private jet use for Rotterdam?

Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM / EHRD) for almost every trip. It is about 5.5 km from the centre, has a 2,199 m runway and a Jet Aviation terminal with customs and immigration on the premises. Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS / EHAM) is 25 nautical miles away, but business jets need an approved slot there and there are no general aviation slots at night. Lelystad (LEY / EHLE) is the daytime alternative for Amsterdam, and Eindhoven is reported to be closed to business aircraft.

4When should I book a private jet to Rotterdam?

Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the film festival in late January and early February, King's Day in late April, North Sea Jazz in mid-July and the World Port Days in early September, allow four to six weeks. Rooms, cars and the single business aviation terminal all get tight in the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from another city.

5Can I fly on from Rotterdam to Amsterdam, Düsseldorf or Paris?

Yes. Amsterdam is 25 nautical miles from Rotterdam and Düsseldorf 99, so a Pilatus PC-12 does either in well under an hour, with no passport control inside the Schengen area. A Schiphol landing needs an approved slot, so for a late hour we plan the road leg instead. Paris Le Bourget at 203 nautical miles and Frankfurt at 202 are about 50 minutes in a Citation CJ3+.

6Can I take my dog to Rotterdam on a private jet?

Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and the Netherlands asks for a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination at least 21 days old and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. No rabies blood test is needed from Britain, and customs at the terminal check the animal on arrival. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
