Private jet charter in Pakistan
A private jet bound for Pakistan needs two clearances before it needs a pilot: a landing permit from the civil aviation authority, which is reviewed by the security services, and a track that goes round the airspace most operators prefer to avoid. Private Jets UK builds a Pakistani charter around those two things, because they set the date, the aircraft and the price. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Pakistan that means a permit with every name on it, a handler who knows which ramp your aircraft will use, and an honest conversation about which parts of the country a charter should and should not reach.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter to Pakistan depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Biggin Hill, an Embraer Praetor 600 to Karachi with one technical stop in Dubai and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Pakistan?
Pakistan keeps one time zone all year, five hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and four hours ahead of British Summer Time. A morning departure from a London airfield therefore reaches Karachi or Islamabad in the evening by the local clock. These are the sectors from London Biggin Hill on the lowest-priced aircraft that can fly them, gate to gate, including about an hour on the ground wherever the plan has a technical stop:
3,734 nautical miles planned, the commercial capital and the nearest of the main gateways on our planned trackabout 9 h 40 min
4,147 nautical miles planned, the federal capital, served by an international airport set well outside the cityabout 10 h 35 min
4,182 nautical miles planned, the cultural capital of the Punjab, and the destination of many family trips from Britainabout 10 h 40 min
4,198 nautical miles planned, an export city with its own privately owned airportabout 10 h 40 min
4,320 nautical miles planned, the mountain gateway, at more than two thousand metres above sea levelabout 10 h 55 min
Why the line on the map is not the route
The shortest line from London to Karachi is about 3,400 nautical miles, and to Islamabad about 3,300. Our aircraft do not plan either of them. Operators choose a track that stays clear of the airspace their insurers and regulators advise against, and for Pakistan that means a southern track over south-eastern Europe, Turkey and the Middle East, with the Gulf as the natural place to land. Measured that way the Karachi sector is 3,734 nautical miles as planned, and Islamabad is 4,147.
We quote the planned distance and never the map distance, so the figure in a quote is the price of the flight that will actually be flown. Every state on the way has its own overflight rules, and nothing is promised before the operator has agreed the corridor.
The same sum decides the stops. The Embraer Praetor 600 is rated at 4,018 nautical miles and we plan every leg at about 85 percent of a published range, so Dubai, 3,067 nautical miles from Biggin Hill, is where it lands, with 667 left to Karachi. A Gulfstream G650ER or a Global 7500 flies the whole 3,734 miles without landing, in about 7 h 50 min, though a full cabin or a headwind can still put a stop into the plan on the day.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. On sectors this long the jet stream moves the figure by the better part of an hour. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Pakistan
Typical one-way prices from Britain, cheapest first. Karachi leads the table because an Embraer Praetor 600 can reach it with a single stop in Dubai, and Karachi is the shortest of the main sectors. The larger cabins further down fly to Islamabad, Lahore and Sialkot with one stop or none. Every figure includes the technical stop shown in the row:

What these figures leave out
– The city you land in moves the price more than the airfield you leave from. From London Biggin Hill a Praetor 600 reaches Karachi for about £58,800, Islamabad for about £65,050 and Lahore for about £65,550, because every extra nautical mile of the northern sectors is paid for twice, on the way out and on the way back. Karachi anchors this page because it has a dedicated business aviation terminal with customs and immigration on site;
– Handling and landing charges at the technical stop, the Pakistani permits and the handler's fee for them, and the airport charges in Pakistan are quoted on top. The figures are one-way, and on a sector this long a one-way price includes the empty flight home, since an aircraft that delivers a party to Pakistan seldom has a passenger waiting there to bring back.
Private jet flights within Pakistan and to its neighbours
Distances inside Pakistan are those of a long, narrow country: Karachi to Lahore is 574 nautical miles, Karachi to Islamabad 621, while Lahore to Islamabad is only 151. Dubai, Muscat and Doha are the neighbours that clients most often add. The figures below show the scale of each hop and are not a firm price, because a domestic leg is quoted by the operator who will fly it:

Before you plan a loop of Pakistani cities
– A permit is issued for named airports and dates, so a loop of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad is applied for as one itinerary and not added to on the way. Changing the point where the aircraft enters or leaves Pakistani airspace, or the routing inside the country, means revalidation and usually a new permit number;
– Whether the aircraft that brings you from Britain may also carry you between Pakistani cities is something we confirm in writing for each trip. Where it may not, the internal legs are flown by a Pakistani operator and booked alongside the long-range aircraft, which then waits or goes home.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Pakistan:
Long range and ultra-long range
The cabins that fly from Britain to Karachi or Islamabad without landing. Ten hours is long enough that a flat bed is the reason to choose them, and a nonstop plan also removes one handling stop from the paperwork.
Large cabins
The right size for a family party of a dozen with luggage, normally planned with a stop in the Gulf. The Praetor 600 is the lowest-priced aircraft we plan to Karachi.
Super-midsize
Not for the journey from Britain, but the right size for Karachi to Lahore or Islamabad to Sialkot once you are in the country, where a Pakistani operator can supply one.
Light jets
The aircraft for the short hops between Lahore, Islamabad and Sialkot. Rates are set by the operator who flies the leg, so the figures here show the scale only.
Turboprops
Rarely the answer in Pakistan, where permits count for more than the miles. Worth asking about only for a short hop between neighbouring cities.

For a sector this long we look for an aircraft positioned in the Gulf or in Britain with enough crew duty time, so the dates should reach us while they can still move.

Business aviation airports in Pakistan
A foreign aircraft can land only at the airports named in its permit, and the permit is the first document in the file. The first three rows are where almost all of our flights go; the rest are the fields that matter for a particular purpose, or that we treat with caution:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Karachi Jinnah KHI / OPKC |
in the east of the city, reached along Shahrah-e-Faisal, at about 30 metres above sea level | Two parallel runways, 07R/25L of 3,400 metres and 07L/25R of 3,200 metres. The business aviation terminal is run by HADID: an FBO of about 11,000 square feet close to the Civil Aviation Authority headquarters, with a meeting room, business centre, crew rooms, customs and immigration on site and apron parking in front of the building. The company says its team is on site round the clock and that no slot restrictions apply at the airport except during presidential and other official visits. Flight support firms also list permits, slot coordination, fuel and VIP terminal access here. Karachi is the airport we plan first for any party whose business is in the south |
| Islamabad International ISB / OPIS |
about 25 km south-west of Islamabad and the same distance from Rawalpindi, at 537 metres above sea level | Two parallel runways of 3,658 metres each, open 24 hours, with a passenger terminal designed for nine million passengers a year. Listings describe a crew and passenger lounge, VIP catering and direct ramp access, but no separate general aviation terminal, so the handler decides where your party is received. Slots are listed as not required. VIP and VVIP flights are processed through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic channels. The new airport replaced the old Benazir Bhutto airport for commercial flights, and a plan that still names the old field is a plan to correct. FLYTAG Flight Support is one listed handler, and HADID also appears under the Islamabad code, so we confirm in writing who holds the ramp on your date |
| Lahore Allama Iqbal LHE / OPLA |
about 15 km from the city centre, at about 217 metres above sea level | Open 24 hours, with a 3,360 metre concrete runway that has an instrument landing system and a second runway of 2,743 metres. Slots are listed as required. Customs, security arrangements, a medical facility, VIP catering and a crew and passenger lounge are listed, with no dedicated general aviation terminal described. Bird activity is heavy and pilots are advised to use extra caution below 3,000 feet. In winter, fog over the Punjab disrupts flights at Lahore, so a departure in those weeks is planned with a margin. VIP and VVIP flights go through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Air Transport Directorate of the civil aviation authority |
| Sialkot International SKT / OPST |
about 14 km west of the city, at 255 metres above sea level | The only privately owned airport in Pakistan, built by the business community of the city. Its asphalt runway is 3,600 metres long and its apron covers about 95,000 square metres. It is a base for Pakistani airlines and an export hub, and it is the natural airport for a buyer or an auditor visiting the factories of Sialkot. We have not seen a published business aviation terminal here, so the handler and the customs arrangements are agreed for each trip |
| Skardu KDU / OPSD |
in Gilgit-Baltistan, at about 2,230 metres above sea level | Two asphalt runways of about 3,650 metres, and an airport that was re-inaugurated as an international one. Pakistani airlines serve it from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Dubai. At that altitude the air is thin and the mountain weather decides the day, so any jet planning to land there needs a careful performance check, and approval for a business jet is checked case by case. We do not publish a handler or a terminal for Skardu, because we have not been able to verify one |
| Peshawar, Quetta and the north-west PEW / OPPS, UET / OPQT |
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan | The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all travel to Peshawar city and to Balochistan, the province of Quetta and Gwadar. This page does not quote sectors to airports in those areas, and any request for one is a conversation about the security position before it is a conversation about the aircraft |
Four constraints shape every schedule into Pakistan:
A permit for every landing
The Civil Aviation Authority issues the landing permit, and operators are told to allow six days. The request is reviewed by Pakistan's security authorities before it is approved, and the permit may not arrive until 24 to 48 hours before the flight even when it was requested a week or more ahead.
A separate overflight permit
An aircraft that only crosses Pakistan needs its own permit, requested with 96 hours' notice and valid for about 72 hours from the planned time. The route filed with the permit has to be flown.
Changes mean a new permit
A new date means a revised landing permit. A different entry or exit point, or a different routing inside the country, means revalidation and usually a new permit number, so the track is settled before the permit is requested.
Technical stops are short
A stop for fuel is allowed for up to 24 hours, on the prescribed air traffic routes. The handler answers for the safety of the crew on the ground, and a crew that rests overnight names its hotel in advance and cannot change it.
What the permit asks about everyone aboard
Name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and passport expiry for every crew member and passenger, the purpose of the flight and a business contact who may be telephoned as part of the security check. For a private flight the operator also supplies the airworthiness and registration certificates and the worldwide insurance policy, and a charter operator adds its air operator certificate. Passengers who join in Pakistan and did not arrive with the aircraft are listed with the same details, and the handler collects a passenger tax of about 100 US dollars each, around £75, and pays it to the authority.
Arriving from Britain: visas, health and what to carry
A British passport holder needs a visa for Pakistan, applied for in advance, and the visa is the document that most often decides the date of a flight. Do it first, and the permit follows. Do it last, and the aircraft waits.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office says a visa is needed and must be applied for in advance. Holders of a Pakistani national identity card for overseas Pakistanis can enter without onebefore departure
Must not expire until six months after the date of the visa application. A passport that is damaged, lost or reported stolen is refusedevery passenger
Make sure the passport is stamped on arrival. Without the stamp, leaving can be difficult, and illegal entry is a serious offenceon arrival
A traveller needs an unexpired visa to leave. If the visa has run out, an exit permit must be applied for online from inside Pakistan before travellingon the way home
Proof of yellow fever vaccination if arriving from a country with a transmission risk, and a polio vaccine certificate in some circumstances. Travellers may face enhanced screening for mpoxif asked
Anything prohibited, taxed or subject to duty must be declared. Importing alcohol or pork is illegal, and a traveller can be detained for tryingat customs
What the Foreign Office says about the country itself
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all travel to Balochistan, to areas within 10 miles of the Afghan border, within 10 miles of the Line of Control in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, and to a long list of districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that includes Peshawar city, Swat, Kurram and the Waziristans. It also advises against all travel on the Karakoram Highway between Mansehra and Chilas.
It advises against all but essential travel to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to Sindh province north of and including Nawabshah, to Dera Ghazi Khan, and to areas within 5 miles of the Indian border. The same page warns of a continuing risk of terrorism and of disruption around protests, rallies and checkpoints.
Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad lie outside the areas that carry the strongest wording, and they are the airports on which this page is built. Travel insurance can be invalidated by travel against Foreign Office advice, so check the policy before the flight and read the published advice for the dates of your trip.
Coming home is a flight into Britain: a General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, and British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation for Britain. The first landing must be at an aerodrome that is regulated for customs, since a landing at an unregulated one carries a fine of £2,500.

Which airport for which part of Pakistan
Choose the airport by the address you are going to, and then check it against the permit. These are the usual pairings:
the business aviation terminal at Jinnah has customs and immigration on site, and the city is the usual base for banking, shipping and trade visitsKarachi
the federal capital and its twin city share one airport 25 km away; diplomatic and government visits use the VIP procedure through the Ministry of Foreign AffairsIslamabad
the road leaves the capital for the hills, and the Foreign Office wording on the Karakoram Highway and on parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is read before any road transfer is plannedIslamabad, then road
slots are required at Allama Iqbal, the airport is 15 km from the centre, and winter fog is the thing to plan aroundLahore
a privately owned airport 14 km from the city with a runway of 3,600 metres, and the handler and customs are agreed for each tripSialkot
Skardu is an airport at more than 2,200 metres, served by airlines, and approval for a business jet is checked case by caseSkardu, by approval
the Foreign Office advises against all travel, and we do not quote business jet sectors there on this pagenot quoted
Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and the north: what our clients go for
Many of the passengers on this route are travelling to see family, and the cooler months are the busiest weeks for it. A party of ten with luggage and children is the kind of booking where a cabin that does not need a technical stop earns its price, and where the visa, not the aircraft, is the long pole.
Karachi is the commercial city. It has the port and the main banks, and a party on business lands at Jinnah, uses the dedicated terminal and is on the road within the hour. The Karachi Literature Festival, usually held in February at a hotel in the city, fills the city's hotels for a few days.
Lahore is the city of the Mughal monuments, among them the Fort and the Badshahi Mosque. Islamabad is the capital: ministries, embassies and international organisations, in a city of wide roads and the Margalla hills behind it. Sialkot is a different kind of destination, a manufacturing town that exports sports goods and surgical instruments, which is why it has an airport of its own.
Skardu is where the mountains begin. It is the gateway to the Karakoram, and a trip there is planned around the weather and the thin air at the airport, not around the clock.
Pakistani seasons: fog, heat and the monsoon
The calendar of the weather decides the airport as much as the address does, and the three big cities live in different climates:
Cool to cold, with snow in the north. Fog can sit over upper Sindh, central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Punjab for weeks, and it disrupts flights at Lahore, Sialkot and Multan. Islamabad has a daily low of around 2 degrees in Januaryfog in the Punjab
Pleasant, though hailstorms are common in spring and tornadoes are mostly seen in March and Aprilspring
The pre-monsoon hot season. Heat waves hit southern Punjab and upper Sindh, and the dust storms called Andhi peak in May and June. The June mean on the plains is about 38 degreeshot
The south-west monsoon covers almost all of the country. Half of Islamabad's yearly rain falls in July and August, and heavy rain can cause serious flooding. In Karachi only July, August and September average more than 75 millimetreswet
Dry. The autumn dust storms mark the arrival of winter, and these are the months many clients prefer for a first visitdry
The coast has its own storm windows
Tropical storms form in the North Arabian Sea in late April to June and again in late September to November, and they can bring strong winds and heavy rain to the coast. A Karachi itinerary in those weeks carries a weather margin, and the aircraft is not left on the apron if a storm is forecast.
The Pakistani calendar: festivals, the monsoon and the moving month of Ramadan
Few dates matter, but one of them moves, and that is the one to plan around:
What a Pakistani date does to a flight plan
A permit is issued for a day, so a festival or a holiday that moves the departure by even one day can mean a revised permit. We ask for the dates of Eid, of the wedding or of the meeting before the quote is final, and we keep one spare day in the plan wherever the passenger list matters more than the schedule.

Flying to Pakistan with a dog or a cat
Pakistan admits dogs and cats on paper that is not difficult to obtain, and the way home is the harder half. Planning it in the right order is the difference between a holiday with the animal and a quarantine bill.
What Pakistan asks for on the way in
Guidance for travellers describes an import permit from the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, obtained before travel, an ISO microchip fitted before arrival, a rabies vaccination given at least 30 days before entry, with the microchip number and the dates on the certificate, and a veterinary health certificate issued within about ten days of the flight. A compliant animal is not quarantined, while one that does not meet the rules can be refused entry, sent back or quarantined at the owner's expense.
Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore are the airports of entry named in the guidance we have seen. Because the rules are set by a Pakistani ministry and the published guidance is general, we confirm the permit, the airport and the paperwork in writing for your dates before the animal is booked.
The way back needs more thought than the way out. Pakistan is not on either of the lists of countries from which Britain accepts a pet on simpler terms. For a dog or a cat coming from an unlisted country Britain requires a Great Britain pet health certificate issued in the last ten days and a rabies blood test:
- A rabies vaccination first, then a blood sample taken at least 30 days after it, sent by the vet to an approved laboratory, with a result of 0.5 IU/ml or higher;
- A wait of three months from the date of the sample before the animal may travel to Britain, and the sample stays valid for as long as the rabies vaccinations are kept up to date;
- A Great Britain pet health certificate for the journey;
- For a dog, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival in Britain;
- Quarantine for up to four months if the rules are not met.
Because the blood test stays valid while the vaccinations are current, the sensible plan is to have the sample taken at home months before the trip, so that the three months have passed before the return flight. An animal sampled in Pakistan has to wait out the three months there. For a private flight we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
Other destinations, and the general rules for travelling with an animal on a private jet, are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a flight the operator has to make anyway, with the cabin vacant, and so it is priced low rather than flown for nothing. The saving on this route is large in cash, and so is the catch.
Why empty legs to Pakistan are scarce
– Every aircraft that delivers a party to Pakistan has to leave again, and a permit allows only a short technical stop, so operators usually fly it home at once. The westbound legs are the useful ones;
– The aircraft is seldom in the right place: a leg from Lahore to Manchester suits a client in Lahore and not one in Karachi, so a match needs the right city as well as the right week;
– A permit goes with the date and with the route, and a leg that moves by a day means a revised permit, so the operator may refuse a change that would be easy elsewhere.
Clients who offer a week instead of a day match most often. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. A selection of Pakistani empty legs follows, at roughly 40 percent of a fresh charter:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| UK (London Biggin Hill) - Pakistan (Karachi) | Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £24,700 |
| Pakistan (Islamabad) - UK (London Biggin Hill) | Challenger 605 | 12 seats | £34,950 |
| Pakistan (Karachi) - UK (London Luton) | Falcon 900LX | 12 seats | £39,450 |
| UK (Birmingham) - Pakistan (Karachi) | Global 6000 | 13 seats | £43,700 |
| UK (London Farnborough) - Pakistan (Islamabad) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £49,950 |
| Pakistan (Lahore) - UK (Manchester) | Gulfstream G550 | 16 seats | £51,250 |
| UK (Edinburgh) - Pakistan (Karachi) | Gulfstream G650ER | 14 seats | £52,900 |
| Pakistan (Lahore) - UK (London Luton) | Gulfstream G650ER | 14 seats | £56,650 |
Reading the empty-leg prices
– The price covers the whole aircraft, not a seat. A Gulfstream G550 from Lahore to Manchester with eight aboard comes to about £6,400 a head;
– The cost to you is flexibility: the date, often the hour, sometimes the airport. The saving looks large only because the fresh charter it is measured against is large.

Helicopter charter
Very little about civil helicopter charter in Pakistan can be verified from published sources, so this block says only what the rules and the geography allow.
Helicopter flights, aerial photography and any operation below 10,000 feet need about 15 days' notice and coordination with the security authoritiesabout 15 days
We do not publish a list of helicopter operators or landing sites for Pakistan. Availability, the operator and the landing site are confirmed for each requeston request
In the Karakoram the weather decides the day and the altitude limits what a helicopter can lift; a transfer is planned with a road or an airline alternativeweather dependent
A helicopter suits the last stretch out of a city, not an intercity hop, where a jet with a permit does the job better. If a helicopter is part of your plan, tell us when you ask for the quote, since fifteen days is longer than most clients expect to wait for a transfer.

Pakistani charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
The six trips below are typical jobs assembled from booking notes with the details changed, so none of them is one named client or one date.
KARACHI · THE LOWEST-PRICED WAY IN
Two directors with a week of meetings
London Biggin Hill - Karachi, Praetor 600 via Dubai, about 9 h 40 min · 4 pax
They had assumed that only an ultra-long-range jet could reach Pakistan. The Praetor 600 lands once in Dubai and reaches Karachi, and the dedicated business aviation terminal there cleared the party without a walk through the main building.
LAHORE · A FAMILY TRIP
Three generations flying out for a wedding
London Biggin Hill - Lahore, Global 6000 nonstop, about 8 h 55 min · 10 pax
The cabin was chosen for the length of the flight and the number of people, and the visas were applied for before anything else, because the permit asks for a passport number for each of the ten. The date sat in the foggy weeks, so the plan carried a spare day at each end.
ISLAMABAD · A DELEGATION
A small delegation to the capital
London Farnborough - Islamabad, Gulfstream G550 nonstop, about 8 h 55 min · 7 pax
Because a government meeting was on the programme, we asked the handler how the VIP procedure through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would apply, and the arrival was planned around that answer. The permit was requested with the full six days in hand.
SIALKOT · FACTORY VISITS
Buyers touring manufacturers
London Biggin Hill - Sialkot, Global 7500 nonstop, about 8 h 45 min · 5 pax
Sialkot has its own privately owned airport, so the buyers landed 14 km from the factories instead of driving from Lahore. The handler and the customs arrangements were agreed before departure, since no published business aviation terminal was available to rely on.
PETS · TWO DOGS TO KARACHI
A relocation with two dogs
London Farnborough - Karachi, Gulfstream G450 via Dubai, about 9 h 30 min · 2 pax and two dogs
The import permit and the health certificates were arranged first. The blood samples for the return were taken at home months before departure, so that the three months Britain requires had passed long before the family flew back.
EMPTY LEG · HOMEWARD FROM KARACHI
A flexible return after a long stay
Karachi - London Luton, Falcon 900LX empty leg, about 8 h 40 min · 5 pax
Offering a week in place of a date is what made this one work. The client paid about £39,450, roughly 40 percent of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector, and left when the aircraft was ready to leave.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Pakistan
1Can a private jet fly from London to Karachi nonstop?
Yes, in a long-range or ultra-long-range cabin. A Gulfstream G650ER, a Bombardier Global 7500, a Global 6000 or a Gulfstream G550 can fly the planned 3,734 nautical miles without landing, and smaller aircraft land once, usually in Dubai. The planned distance is longer than the straight line on the map because the track runs to the south. A full cabin or a headwind can still put a stop into the plan on the day.
2How long does a private jet take from the UK to Pakistan?
About 7 hours 50 minutes to Karachi nonstop in a G650ER, and about 9 hours 40 minutes in a Praetor 600 with a stop in Dubai, including the stop. Islamabad takes about 8 hours 50 minutes nonstop in a Global 6000. Pakistan has one time zone, five hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and four ahead of British Summer Time.
3How much does a private jet to Pakistan cost?
From about £58,800 one way from London Biggin Hill to Karachi on a Praetor 600 with a stop in Dubai. Islamabad on the same aircraft costs about £65,050, and aircraft that fly nonstop cost more, from about £102,000 to Karachi in a Global 6000. Handling at the stop, the handler's permit fee and the airport charges in Pakistan are quoted on top, and an empty leg in the right direction costs roughly 40 percent of a fresh charter.
4What permits and visas does a private flight to Pakistan need?
The aircraft needs a landing permit from the Civil Aviation Authority, which the security services review, and operators are told to allow six days. An aircraft that only crosses the country needs an overflight permit with 96 hours' notice. British passport holders need a visa applied for in advance, with a passport valid until six months after the application date. The names on the permit must match the people aboard.
5Is it safe to travel to Pakistan by private jet?
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advises against all travel to Balochistan, Peshawar city, many districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the border areas, and against all but essential travel to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and to Sindh north of and including Nawabshah. Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad lie outside those areas, and this page is built on them. Check the published advice for your dates and your insurance policy before you fly.
6Can my dog or cat travel with me to Pakistan on a private jet?
Yes, with planning. Guidance for travellers describes an import permit from the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 30 days before entry and a veterinary health certificate issued close to the flight. Coming home, Britain treats Pakistan as an unlisted country, which means a rabies blood test, a three-month wait from the sample date and a Great Britain pet health certificate, so the blood sample is best taken at home well before the trip.
