Private jet charter in Leipzig
Leipzig is about an hour and forty minutes from the London fields by light jet, and the airport you land at is known for parcels far more than for passengers. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around the reason for the trip, whether that is a factory visit, a fair stand or a concert hall. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. One fact shapes the booking more than any price table. Leipzig/Halle is a freight hub with two 3,600 m runways and a general aviation terminal alongside, so the real decisions are the handler, the night rules and whether the meeting is in Leipzig, in Dresden or in Halle.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Leipzig depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, an Embraer Legacy 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Leipzig?
An hour and forty minutes from Biggin Hill in a light jet, about two hours from Glasgow, and one hour of clock difference to remember on arrival, because Germany keeps Central European time. At 473 to 674 nautical miles this is a short-haul sector in the plainest sense: a light jet is comfortable, a midsize cabin is a matter of luggage and not of range, and nothing here calls for a heavy aircraft. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at Leipzig/Halle a little before ten local time. Published ground-time estimates put the drive from the airport into the city at about 20 minutes, so a client who left a London office at half past six can be sitting in a Leipzig meeting room before lunch. Add the drive to the British airfield and the processing at both ends and the whole journey from central London to central Leipzig comes to roughly four hours.
Light jet or midsize: the question that actually comes up on this route
– Up to about four people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer. An hour and a half to an hour and forty minutes in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is no hardship, and the saving over a midsize cabin pays for the car and the hotel;
– Past that, or with exhibition kit, boxes of books, samples for a factory visit or a dog, we quote a midsize jet alongside it so you see both figures. At a fair the luggage count rises faster than the passenger count, and the hold decides;
– Heavy aircraft only make sense when the party is large, when the same jet stays with you across several European stops, or when Leipzig is the first leg of something much longer.

Prices for the private jet flights to Leipzig
Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all of them into the general aviation terminal at Leipzig/Halle. The Book Fair week in March, Pentecost weekend and the Christmas market weekends sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Private jet flights from Leipzig
Leipzig is a good place to start a loop through eastern and central Germany. Berlin is a short business sector, Dresden and Erfurt are almost too close to fly, and Prague, Frankfurt and Munich sit within a light-jet hour. Below a certain length every aircraft has a minimum charge, which is why Berlin and Prague cost the same in the same cabin. Typical one-way prices:

Saxony and Thuringia from the air: when a flight beats the autobahn
Dresden is about 62 nautical miles from Leipzig and Erfurt about 57, which is a drive of an hour and a bit in either direction, so a turboprop here saves little time and costs more than a car. It earns its place only when the aircraft is already waiting for you, when the party is too large for two cars, or when the plane carries on afterwards to Berlin or Prague. Dresden Airport lies about 9 km north of the city centre with a 2,850 m runway, and Erfurt-Weimar has a 2,600 m runway about 5 km west of Erfurt and a separate business terminal. Altenburg-Nobitz, 42 km south of Leipzig, has a 2,435 m runway and no scheduled services; it is mainly used by general aviation and corporate aircraft, which makes it a quiet fallback when Leipzig/Halle is occupied with freighters.
Before you accept an onward quote
– Which airport, and who handles it. A quote for Dresden or Erfurt that does not name the terminal or the handler is a quote that will change. We ask the operator and put the answer in writing;
– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Leipzig to Berlin to Prague over three days costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of repositioning to Leipzig between each stop;
– Whether you need the aircraft at all. For Dresden and Erfurt we will say plainly when a car is the better answer and quote the flight only if the connection justifies it.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Leipzig:
Light jets, and where most bookings land
At about 1 hour 40 minutes this is still the sensible class for up to four people with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range for Leipzig, so the money goes on the hour and not on capability you will not use.
Midsize, for stand material and factory delegations
Display kit for a trade fair, boxes of books for the March fair and a week of business clothes are what push a party past the light-jet hold.
Super-midsize and large
For a board travelling as one party, for a team that needs to work in the air, and for trips that carry on from Leipzig to the Gulf or beyond rather than turning round.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the short German legs: Dresden, Erfurt and Berlin are about half an hour in the air, and the saving over a jet on that distance is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a factory site, a fairground or an estate with no runway. In Germany a landing away from an aerodrome needs permission, so the site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Leipzig sits in the middle of the German and Central European fleet, so for a booking that is not in the middle of Book Fair week there is usually an aircraft already within an hour of the airport, in Berlin, Dresden, Prague or Frankfurt, and that is often where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Leipzig
One airport does nearly all of the work. The others matter for specific reasons, and it helps to know them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Leipzig/Halle LEJ / EDDP |
The answer for almost every trip. It lies between the two cities, about 16 km from Leipzig and 22 km from Halle, with two parallel concrete runways of 3,600 m each, an elevation of 140 m and a listing as open round the clock, customs and immigration included. It is also DHL's main European hub, so freighters dominate the night apron and private passengers use the general aviation terminal, shown in one handler listing as Terminal A. Jet A-1 is supplied by truck |
| Altenburg-Nobitz AOC / EDAC |
A quiet airfield 42 km south of Leipzig with a 2,435 m paved runway. Scheduled services ended long ago and the field is mainly used by general aviation and corporate aircraft. Worth knowing as a fallback, though the road to the city is the longest of the options here, so customs and handling are worth checking in advance |
| Dresden DRS / EDDC |
A different city rather than an alternative to Leipzig: 9 km north of the Dresden centre, with a 2,850 m runway. If the meeting is on the Elbe, land there and not at Leipzig. The airport itself is about 20 minutes from the centre by road |
| Erfurt-Weimar ERF / EDDE |
The airport for Thuringia, with a single 2,600 m asphalt runway about 5 km west of Erfurt and a separate business terminal. Useful for Erfurt, Weimar and Jena; too far from Leipzig to share a trip with it |
| Berlin Brandenburg BER / EDDB |
Leipzig lies about 150 km south-west of Berlin, so BER is not a substitute for Leipzig/Halle but the airport for anyone whose day starts in Leipzig and ends in the capital. We price the two airports as separate legs and compare them with a car transfer |
Four points settle most Leipzig arrivals:
Choose the handler
General aviation at Leipzig/Halle is handled in its own terminal, and the handlers listed for the field include Executive Aviation, Portground and Aviation Handling Service. The listings differ in age and detail, so we ask the operator which company it prefers and confirm the handler, fuel and parking in writing before the quote.
Hours, slots and noise
The airport is published as open round the clock, but passenger flights are restricted between 23:30 and 05:30, with up to half an hour of tolerance for delays, while express cargo flies through the night. Reports on slots differ: one summary says none is needed for general aviation, a pilot mentions a handling form agreed by phone. We file the request and keep the approval with the quote.
Border and passport
Germany is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border at the airport on arrival. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued less than ten years before arrival and valid for at least three months after departure. On a first entry you may be asked to register a photograph and fingerprints.
Car and fair days
Give us the terminal as well as the flight, because a driver told only Leipzig/Halle may wait at the passenger terminal. On Book Fair days and during Pentecost weekend ask us to time the car around the traffic into the city, and ask your host whether protocol cars already cover the airport run.

Border, passport and the return leg
The simplest rule: land where the meeting is. Customs and immigration at Leipzig/Halle are listed as available at all hours, so the arrival formalities take place at the terminal, and the road to Halle, Dresden or Erfurt afterwards is inside the Schengen area with no further border control. Coming home, the General Aviation Report for the return leg has to reach the UK authorities no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 2 hours before departure, and a private flight that lands first at a non-regulated aerodrome risks a fine of £2,500. Most visitors who are neither British nor Irish also need an electronic travel authorisation or a visa to enter the UK. Your handler and our desk deal with the paperwork, but it helps to know which date it is waiting on.

From the apron to the Markt
Leipzig is a city you cross in twenty minutes from the airport and then walk. The old town, the Markt, the Thomaskirche and most of what a visitor wants sit inside the ring road, and the distances that matter run outward, to the fairground, to the Gothic festival site and to Dresden and Berlin.
about 16 km, and the reason one airport carries the whole regionabout 20 minutes

Flying to Leipzig with a dog or a cat
Germany asks for more paperwork than the flight takes, and the flight is short enough that most animals sleep through it. With the operator's agreement the animal sits beside you in the cabin and no hold is involved. What matters is the dating of the health certificate, which is valid for entry into the EU for only ten days from the day it is issued.

What Germany and the UK ask for:
- A microchip, fitted before or at the same time as the rabies vaccination, never after it;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 full days passed before travel;
- An animal health certificate from your vet, issued for each trip and valid for ten days for entry into the EU and, for the return to Great Britain, as stated on the certificate;
- Entry through a travellers' point of entry, where the documents are checked, which our handler arranges at the terminal;
- No more than five animals per traveller;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than five days before arrival back in Britain. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Leipzig run
– Germany is not on the list of countries that ask for a tapeworm treatment on the way in, so the vet visit that matters is the one before the flight home. Book it in Leipzig towards the end of the stay and put the time on the certificate, because the window is narrow;
– A pet passport issued in England, Scotland or Wales cannot be used to enter the EU. The certificate has to be a fresh one for each trip, and an animal whose rabies vaccination lapses during the trip loses the right to onward travel or re-entry on it;
– A Christmas market weekend with a dog is an ordinary booking, but settle the hotel and any helicopter before the quote, because each has to accept the animal separately. For the paperwork on the animal itself, we confirm the entry point and the documents in writing before the flight.
Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Leipzig calendar: books, music and a fair tradition
Leipzig keeps a calmer rhythm than a resort and a more cultural one than most German industrial cities. March belongs to the books, Pentecost to the Gothic festival, June to Bach, and the weeks before Christmas to one of the oldest markets in Germany. Between those peaks the factories and the fairground keep a steady flow of business traffic. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a fair week costs more
Not the flying, and not the runway. Leipzig/Halle has two 3,600 m runways and no passenger-airport crowding, so the airfield itself is rarely the limit. What gets tight is hotels, cars and the handful of light and midsize aircraft already in the region, all in the same week. A booking made a fortnight before the Book Fair or Pentecost can still be done, but it pays more and may mean an aircraft positioned from Berlin or Frankfurt. The same booking made five or six weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Leipzig is one of the easier German cities to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Leipzig price down
- Move the dates a few days where you can. The week after the Book Fair is calm, and so are the weeks between the Bachfest and the summer holidays;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Berlin, Dresden or Prague takes less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful share of the bill;
- Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved buys the car and the hotel.
Types of flights
Leipzig produces a different mix from the Italian or French destinations we cover, because it is an industrial city, a fair city and a music city at once, with one of Germany's largest cargo airports on its doorstep.
- Automotive and industrial delegations, tied to the Porsche plant, the logistics sector and the DHL hub, where the visit is fixed and the arrival formalities are the main concern;
- Trade fair and book fair travel, where dates are set by the organiser and exhibition kit is heavy;
- Culture weekends built around the Gewandhaus, the Thomaskirche and the Bachfest;
- Football weekends and the Gothic festival, flown in by small groups who book the hotel first;
- Day trips from London, which at about one hour forty each way are a comfortable working day;
- Onward legs to Dresden, Berlin and Prague, often as part of a longer German itinerary.
The day trip is worth a closer look. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Leaving at seven and coming back at eight in the evening gives you a full day in Leipzig and your own bed that night, and on this route we quote it both ways so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Leipzig route they come from the pattern of events and not from sheer volume, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Leipzig empty legs come from
– Fair weeks. When exhibitors and delegations arrive on charters from across Europe, the aircraft often leave empty a day or two later, producing outbound legs in the days after;
– Festival weekends. Aircraft come in for Pentecost or a concert weekend and go back to their bases on the Sunday or Monday, and that evening leg is the one most often offered;
– Corridor traffic. Berlin, Frankfurt and Prague are busy business airports, and an aircraft that has dropped a party in Leipzig sometimes returns home empty the same day.
Because the Leipzig corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Leipzig leg the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Leipzig a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip. The city centre is small and flat, and the places where rotary flight changes the day are the factory sites, the fairground and the longer legs to Dresden and Erfurt.
about 16 km, against about 20 minutes by road, so only worth it for a pad at the destinationabout 10 minutes
the fairground is about 7 km north of the centre; for a group with a hospitality packageabout 5 minutes
about 62 nautical miles in a straight line, against roughly an hour and more by carabout 40 minutes
about 57 nautical miles, and a useful link when Weimar and Erfurt share one afternoonabout 40 minutes
the Battle of the Nations Monument, 91 m tall, the old town and the lakes south of the centreabout 30 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter in Germany cannot land wherever it likes. Take-offs and landings away from an approved aerodrome need the permission of the aviation authority of the state concerned, so a hotel lawn, a factory forecourt or a private estate needs its status confirmed before we quote, not after;
– Weather and daylight set the schedule. Low cloud or fog can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– Twin-engine machines are the sensible minimum for any route over built-up areas. For Pentecost weekend and the Book Fair, book the helicopter together with the jet or expect to be told there is no rotary capacity.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for short hops, the wider H130 for scenic and estate transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Leipzig charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning meeting in Leipzig and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Leipzig and return, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 40 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground at Leipzig/Halle shortly before ten local time, in the meeting by eleven and back at Biggin Hill in time for a late dinner. The aircraft and crew waited at the general aviation terminal rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. It is a long day and it works.
BOOK FAIR · THE BOXES BOOKED THE CABIN
Five people, forty cartons of proofs and a Sunday departure
Farnborough - Leipzig, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 40 min · 5 pax
A publishing team heading for the March fair. The stand material and sample copies went well beyond what a light jet carries comfortably, so the quote moved up a class for that reason and not for the seats. The return left on Sunday afternoon, and the departure time was agreed together with the arrival.
FACTORY VISIT · FIXED DATES
A delegation touring an automotive plant
London Luton - Leipzig, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 35 min · 7 pax
The visit date was set by the manufacturer, not by the client. Seven people, laptops, printed briefing folders and a request for a car at the aircraft door. The booking went in four weeks ahead, the handler pre-arranged the passport check at the terminal, and the party was at the plant gate on time.
FESTIVAL WEEKEND · THE OTHER CITY WON
A group for a concert weekend that ended in Dresden
London City - Leipzig, Citation CJ3+, about 1 h 35 min · 5 pax
They planned Leipzig for the music and then added a day in Dresden. We quoted the Leipzig landing with a car on to Dresden against a second flight, compared the two on one sheet, and the car won on time and on cost. The aircraft stayed in Leipzig and flew them home from there.
CHRISTMAS MARKETS · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a December weekend
Birmingham - Leipzig, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 45 min · 4 pax + dog
The health certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Leipzig for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and everything was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · A DAY OF YOUR CHOICE
A jet already going your way
Leipzig - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 1 h 35 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for a fair and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a late-afternoon departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Leipzig
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Leipzig?
About 1 hour 35 minutes from London City and 1 hour 40 minutes from Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 1 hour 35 minutes from Luton or Farnborough in a Phenom, covering roughly 473 to 507 nautical miles. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about 1 hour 45 minutes to 1 hour 50 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 1 hour 55 minutes to 2 hours. Leipzig is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly before ten local time.
2How much does a private jet to Leipzig cost?
From about £7,200 one way on a light jet out of London City, £7,250 from Biggin Hill and £7,450 from Luton. A midsize cabin runs £9,850 to £10,550 from the south and Midlands, and from Scotland allow £14,200 to £14,800. The Book Fair week, Pentecost weekend and the Christmas market weekends price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Leipzig?
Leipzig/Halle (LEJ / EDDP) for almost every trip. It lies about 16 km from Leipzig and 22 km from Halle, has two 3,600 m runways, is published as open round the clock with customs and immigration, and has a general aviation terminal. Altenburg-Nobitz, 42 km south, is a quiet corporate fallback. If your meeting is in Dresden, land at Dresden instead.
4Can a private jet land at Leipzig/Halle at night?
The airport is published as open round the clock and is a freight hub that works through the night, but passenger flights are restricted between 23:30 and 05:30, with up to half an hour of tolerance for delays. How a private flight is treated is something we confirm in writing for your dates, and we advise planning a departure before 23:00 and treating anything later as a request.
5When should I book a private jet to Leipzig?
Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the March Book Fair, Pentecost weekend and the weeks of the Christmas market, allow four to six weeks. Hotels, cars and the nearest light and midsize aircraft all get tight in the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from another city.
6Can I take my dog to Leipzig on a private jet?
Yes. The dog can travel in the cabin with you, and Germany asks for a microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and an animal health certificate issued within ten days of arrival. For the return to Britain a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
