Private jet charter in Manchester

Most people who charter from London to Manchester are buying back an afternoon: the flight takes under an hour, where the train takes a little over two. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around the day you actually need. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Manchester has one of the busiest airports in Britain, two runways of more than 3,000 m and two private handlers, so the choice that matters is less the aircraft than whether the meeting is really in Manchester, or in Liverpool, Leeds or Cheshire.

private jet charter

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Manchester depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.

You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:

  • using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
  • via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
  • by landline or cell phone;
  • via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).

Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London Luton, an Embraer Legacy 600 and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.

How long does it take to fly to Manchester?

Forty minutes from Biggin Hill in a light jet, forty from Edinburgh as well, and no clock to adjust on arrival, because Manchester keeps British time. At 60 to 180 nautical miles the sectors from Britain are short enough that a turboprop often beats a jet on price for very little extra time in the air, so the table shows the aircraft that fits each distance. Three arrivals from abroad close it, to show how the picture changes once a border is involved.

Door to door, and what the train takes from you

Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at Manchester Airport before eight, with the city centre about seven miles away and a drive of 20 to 30 minutes at the end. The train from Euston to Piccadilly takes a little over two hours before you have found a taxi at either end. The jet does not win on the clock alone. It wins when the party is four to eight people, when the departure is Biggin Hill, Farnborough or Luton and not a London terminus, and when the day includes a second stop in Cheshire or Lancashire that no station serves.

Turboprop or light jet: the question that comes up on a British sector

– Up to eight people with ordinary bags, a Pilatus PC-12 is the sensible answer. On the Biggin Hill sector it prices at £3,100 one way against £5,300 for a Citation CJ3+, and the difference in the air is about ten minutes;

– A light jet earns its premium when the cabin matters more than the bill, when the passengers are connecting to something with a fixed time, or when the same aircraft carries straight on from Manchester to Geneva or Nice and is not swapped on the way;

– Heavy aircraft belong to the long-haul leg out of Manchester. Dubai and New York Teterboro are Global-class sectors of more than six hours, and two runways of over 3,000 m take that kind of aircraft without trouble.

Out of Manchester: three kinds of trip

The first kind is the hop. Manchester to the Isle of Man is 98 nautical miles and turboprop work, and Dublin and Jersey are the next step up. Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man belong to the Common Travel Area, but the flight is still international for paperwork and needs a General Aviation Report. The second kind is the European business sector: Paris Le Bourget in about an hour, Geneva and Zurich in about an hour and a half. The third is the long haul. Dubai is 3,176 nautical miles and New York Teterboro 3,013, which comes to roughly 6 hours 45 minutes and 6 hours 25 minutes in a Global 6000 on our calculation before wind, and those are the trips where the size of the Manchester runways counts.

Before you accept an onward quote

– Which handler, and at what hour. Signature publishes opening hours of 06:00 to 22:00 with call-out on request, and the night period at the airport begins at 23:00, so a late departure needs the call-out and the night quota confirmed together;

– Whether it is one booking. Manchester to Geneva and home three days later costs less arranged as one trip, with the aircraft waiting or positioned nearby, than as two one-way charters each flown in from elsewhere;

– Whether the aircraft can fly the sector. A Gulf or transatlantic quote needs an aircraft with the range and fuel margin for it, which is why we name the type in every quote, so that a small jet is never priced against a large one.

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

Turbopropsfrom £850/h
Small jet£1,700 - 2,500/h
Light jet£2,100 - 3,000/h
Medium-sized jet (Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP)£3,000 - 3,700/h
Large medium-class jet (Challenger 300)£4,600 - 5,500/h
Large jet (Legacy 600)£4,900 - 5,800/h
Long-haul jet (Global 5000, G550, Falcon 7X)£5,800 - 8,800/h
Business linersfrom £10,300/h

Private jets are ready to take off

Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Manchester:

Light jets, for the short British sector

At about forty minutes in the air a light jet is a comfort choice rather than a necessity. It is worth paying for when the cabin or the speed matters, or when the trip carries on to the Continent.

HondaJet Elite · 5 seatsfrom £1,900/h
Cessna Citation CJ3+ · 7 seatsfrom £2,400/h
Embraer Phenom 300E · 8 seatsfrom £2,600/h
Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen2 · 8 seatsfrom £2,700/h

Midsize, for the Alps and the Mediterranean

Once the flight carries on from Manchester to Geneva, Chambéry or Nice, a midsize cabin is where luggage and legroom stop being a compromise.

Learjet 75 Liberty · 8 seatsfrom £3,000/h
Cessna Citation XLS+ · 9 seatsfrom £3,100/h
Cessna Citation Latitude · 9 seatsfrom £3,900/h
Embraer Praetor 600 · 9 seatsfrom £3,400/h

Super-midsize and large

For a team that wants to work in the air, for a party travelling as one group to Dubai or New York, and for trips that start in Manchester and keep going.

Bombardier Challenger 350 · 9 seatsfrom £4,000/h
Bombardier Challenger 605 · 12 seatsfrom £4,350/h
Dassault Falcon 2000LXS · 10 seatsfrom £4,900/h
Bombardier Global 6000 · 13 seatsfrom £6,400/h

Turboprops

The right aircraft for the domestic legs from the Midlands, Wales and the south, and for the hop to the Isle of Man: a few minutes slower than a jet and a good deal cheaper.

Pilatus PC-12 NGX · 9 seatsfrom £1,400/h
Beechcraft King Air 350 · 9 seatsfrom £1,650/h

Helicopters

Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: Aintree, the Derbyshire estates, the Lakes and a lawn with no runway. Manchester Heliport at Barton asks for prior permission, and the landing site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. For a booking that does not fall on a match weekend there is usually an aircraft already within an hour of Manchester, in the north-west, the Midlands or Dublin, and the positioning from there is often where the better price comes from, as the empty legs section below explains.

Business aviation airports in Manchester

Manchester Airport does almost all of the work, and for good reason. The other fields matter when the trip is not really to Manchester, and it helps to know them before a quote arrives with one of them in it.

Airport What it gives you
Manchester Airport
MAN / EGCC
The answer for almost every trip. About seven miles south-west of the city centre, a drive of 20 to 30 minutes, with two parallel runways of more than 3,000 m that take anything from a turboprop to a long-haul heavy, and customs and immigration on site. Private aircraft are handled by Signature Aviation, from the Business Aviation Centre in Hangar 7, and by Weston Aviation, from aether, the private terminal beside the Runway Visitor Park. Every flight needs a slot, and the night period runs from 23:00 to 07:00
Liverpool John Lennon
LPL / EGGP
The Merseyside alternative, about 21 nautical miles west of Manchester in a straight line and 12 km south-east of Liverpool city centre. A single 2,286 m runway, 24-hour operation and executive terminal facilities with a private lounge. Noise abatement and night restrictions may apply to some aircraft types. The right choice for Liverpool itself, for Aintree and, at about 24 miles, for Chester
Leeds Bradford
LBA / EGNM
The Yorkshire alternative, about 39 nautical miles north-east of Manchester in a straight line. One runway of roughly 2,250 m at an elevation of 208 m, which makes it the highest airport in England, with Multiflight as the dedicated FBO. Handling is compulsory and Multiflight lists normal hours of 08:00 to 18:00, so an early or late movement is arranged in advance. Leeds city centre is about eight miles away, 40 to 45 minutes by road
Blackpool
BLK / EGNH
The coastal option, about 38 nautical miles north-west of Manchester in a straight line. A main runway of 1,868 m, executive flights run by Hangar 3 Blackpool with a private hangar and lounge, and a helicopter terminal that already serves offshore crews. A niche choice for the Fylde coast, and we confirm customs cover before planning any arrival from abroad
Manchester Barton and Manchester Heliport
EGCB
A light-aircraft field about five nautical miles west of the city centre, with four grass runways of 641 m or less, which makes it the wrong place for a charter jet. Its value is the heliport: prior permission is required, hangarage runs from light helicopters up to the AW139, and a lounge and direct road access from the A57 let passengers walk from car to aircraft

Four points settle most Manchester arrivals:

Choose the handler

Manchester has two private handlers. Signature Aviation works from the Business Aviation Centre with a lounge, conference rooms, a snooze room, heated hangarage and jet fuelling, and publishes hours of 06:00 to 22:00 with call-out on request. Weston Aviation offers handling from aether. We ask the operator for its preference and confirm the hours in writing.

Hours, slots and noise

The airport is open round the clock, but not free of rules. Every flight needs a slot, and flights in the night planning period also need a night quota. The night period runs from 23:00 to 07:00 and the core night from 23:30 to 06:00. The noisiest aircraft are barred between 23:00 and 07:00, and the next band cannot be scheduled in the core night.

Border and passport

Flights inside Britain have no border control at all. Anything from abroad, Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man included, needs a General Aviation Report filed through the government's online service, and customs and immigration are on site. Visitors who are not British or Irish passport holders and do not need a visa must hold an Electronic Travel Authorisation before boarding.

Car and the ramp

From either handler the centre is about seven miles away, a drive of 20 to 30 minutes, and Signature drives passengers ramp-side to the aircraft. The two handlers work from different buildings, so give the driver the handler by name as well as the flight. For a match or concert night, put the late car and the crew call-out in the quote from the start.

business aviation

Border, passport and the Common Travel Area

A flight that starts and ends in Britain needs no border formalities, which is half the appeal of Manchester for a client coming up from London. The paperwork begins with anything that touches another country, and that includes Ireland, Jersey and the Isle of Man: the government's online service for General Aviation Reports covers international flights to and from the UK, the Common Travel Area included, and domestic flights are excluded. For passengers it is simple. British and Irish passport holders need nothing further, and most other visitors who do not need a visa must hold an Electronic Travel Authorisation before they board. We pass the passenger list and passport details to the handler in good time, so that Border Force is waiting at the airport and nobody stands at the aircraft door.

From the apron to the city and the counties around it

Manchester Airport sits about seven miles south-west of the centre, so the city itself is a short transfer. The distances that matter run outward: to Cheshire, to Liverpool, to the Yorkshire side and to the grounds where the big events are held.

Flying to Manchester with a dog or a cat

Between two British airports a dog or a cat needs no pet paperwork, and the animal simply sits beside you in the cabin. The rules begin when the flight starts or ends abroad, and they are stricter on the way in than most owners expect.

private flight with animals

What Great Britain asks for when the animal arrives from abroad:

  • A microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination and not after it;
  • A rabies vaccination, with at least 21 full days elapsed after the first vaccination or the last of the first course, and for some countries of departure a blood test as well;
  • A pet travel document from a vet, of a type that depends on the country you travel from: a pet passport, an animal health certificate or a Great Britain pet health certificate;
  • For dogs, a tapeworm treatment given by a vet no less than 24 hours and no more than five days before arrival. Cats do not need it;
  • A declaration that the animal will not be sold or transferred, and entry by an approved route, which is not required for travel within the UK or from Ireland.

What catches owners out on the Manchester run

– The tapeworm window is short. It runs from 24 hours to five days before landing, so the vet appointment is booked abroad towards the end of the stay and timed to the flight home, not done before you leave;

– An animal that does not meet the conditions can be held in quarantine for up to four months. For a private charter the approved route typically means an operator authorised by the Animal and Plant Health Agency, so we confirm the route and the arrival airport in writing before a booking is taken;

– Pets that arrive more than five days before or after their owner, and groups of more than five animals travelling without a show or competition entry, fall under stricter commercial rules. Keep the animal with the passenger and the numbers small.

Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.

The Manchester calendar: a football city with a festival habit

Manchester has no off-season in the way a ski resort has, but its demand has a clear shape. Football runs from August to May, racing and the marathon open the spring, festivals take June and July, Pride falls in August and the markets arrive in November, and an arena in the east of the city fills most weeks of the year.

August to May
Premier League football: 20 clubs playing 38 matches each, with Manchester United at Old Trafford and Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Home fixtures bring day-trip and weekend charters, and a late kick-off pushes the return flight towards the night hours at the airport
All year
Co-op Live, the largest indoor arena in the UK, is built for about 120 events a year, around 100 of them music. Expect a charter peak on the evening and an empty leg the morning after
April
The Manchester Marathon, which starts near Old Trafford, and the Grand National meeting at Aintree, a three-day festival on the Liverpool side. For Aintree consider Liverpool John Lennon and not Manchester
Spring to autumn
Flat racing at Chester Racecourse, on the Roodee under the city walls, including the May meeting with the Chester Vase, a trial for the Derby. Chester is about 29 miles from Manchester Airport
June
Parklife at Heaton Park: two days, with a capacity of 82,500. Demand arrives for the opening day and leaves on the last night
July, every second year
The Manchester International Festival, the biennial arts festival that commissions new work and spreads across venues in the city
Summer
Stadium concerts at the Etihad Stadium fall in the summer, when football is off, and Old Trafford stages shows too. A show night brings a party in for the evening and the aircraft out again afterwards
August bank holiday
Manchester Pride, centred on the Gay Village on Canal Street, has drawn well over 100,000 people to the Big Weekend. Cars and hotels are the first things to tighten
November to December
The Christmas markets open in early November across about ten city-centre sites and run to just before Christmas, with a few staying open into January. Weekend city breaks by air, mostly small parties

Why a match weekend costs more

Not the flying. The British and European light-jet fleet is large and Manchester is well placed in it. What gets tight is the slot, because every flight at Manchester needs one, and the night period from 23:00, because a late match or concert pushes departures into the quota hours. A booking made a fortnight before a big home fixture or a stadium concert can still be done, but it pays more, and it may mean an aircraft positioned from Birmingham or Dublin. The same booking made three or four weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weekends Manchester is one of the easier British airports to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.

Ways to bring the Manchester price down

  • Move off the match weekend. Manchester has two Premier League clubs and a season that runs from August to May, so the busiest evenings are easy to predict, and a midweek date without a home fixture is simpler to quote;
  • Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet or turboprop already at Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds Bradford or Birmingham needs less positioning than one coming up from the south coast, and on a sector of 150 nautical miles positioning is a large share of the bill;
  • Take the PC-12 unless the jet matters. On the Biggin Hill sector the turboprop is £2,200 cheaper and about ten minutes slower;
  • Look at the other airport. If the real destination is Liverpool, Aintree or Chester, ask for Liverpool John Lennon, and if it is Leeds or the Yorkshire side, ask for Leeds Bradford, because a shorter road transfer saves as much as a cheaper flight.

Types of flights

Manchester produces a different mix from the capitals and resorts we cover, because it is a business centre, a football city and the airport for much of the north of England at the same time.

  • Business travel from London and the south, in a city whose economy rests on business, financial and professional services alongside digital, creative and advanced manufacturing, where a same-day return is the usual shape;
  • Football and arena nights, with parties flown in for a match at Old Trafford or the Etihad Stadium or for a show at Co-op Live, and flown out again after;
  • Media and production trips to MediaCityUK at Salford Quays, where the BBC and ITV are based;
  • Clients bound for Cheshire, including the Golden Triangle around Alderley Edge, who arrive from abroad and want the shortest road at the end;
  • Racing and country weekends, flown to Manchester or Liverpool for Aintree and Chester and by helicopter for the estates of Derbyshire;
  • Outbound leisure and long haul from Manchester: the Alps through Geneva or Chambéry, the Mediterranean, Dubai and New York.

The London day return is the one to look at closely. A same-day trip means the aircraft and crew wait in Manchester, which is a real line in the quote. It still comes out below two separate one-way charters, because the aircraft does not have to be flown home empty and then fetched again. At forty minutes each way it also leaves most of the working day free: out at seven, home for dinner.

Empty Legs

An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Manchester routes they follow the pattern of the week more than the pattern of the season, and it helps to know what produces them.

Where Manchester empty legs come from

– Match and arena nights. An aircraft that brought a party in for an evening game or a concert often goes home empty late that night or the next morning, and that leg is the one most often offered;

– London weekends. Aircraft based in the north-west fly south for a client on a Friday and come back on Sunday evening or Monday morning, which produces a northbound leg and a southbound one in the same week;

– Long-haul returns. When a Global-class aircraft brings a party in from the Gulf or America it may have to go on to another base, and the short onward leg can be the cheapest seat in the market.

Manchester is a regional base and not a hub on the scale of London, so a client who can name a few days has a far better chance than one who needs a single date. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can disappear when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Manchester match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter

In Manchester a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip. The city centre is small enough to cross by car, and rotary flight pays off on the longer legs to the coast, the Lakes, the racecourses and the country houses, all of which are a short flight from the heliport at Barton.

Manchester Heliport to Aintree
about 20 nautical miles in a straight line, for the Grand National meeting in April
about 15 minutes
Manchester Heliport to Chatsworth
33 nautical miles to the Derbyshire Dales, a country house in its parkland
about 20 minutes
Manchester Heliport to Blackpool Airport
30 nautical miles to the Fylde coast, where a helicopter terminal already serves offshore crews
about 20 minutes
Manchester Heliport to Windermere
59 nautical miles to the lake in the Lake District, a day trip rather than a transfer
about 30 minutes

Before you plan around a helicopter

– Prior permission comes first. Manchester Heliport asks for PPR by telephone or through its online system, and its hangars take machines from light helicopters up to the AW139, so size is not the constraint on the ground;

– A lawn is not a helipad. A hotel garden or a private estate needs a suitable site and the owner's agreement, and we settle that before quoting and not after;

– Weather sets the day. Low cloud over high ground can stop a helicopter on a morning when the jet lands without trouble, so a trip to Chatsworth or the Lakes needs a road alternative in the same plan, and a twin-engine machine is the sensible minimum across hills.

The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for single-engine transfers, the H130 for scenic work, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the AW139 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable. Times above are straight-line figures at a typical cruise of about 130 knots, with a few minutes added for start-up and landing.

Manchester charters from the booking notes: six typical trips

How a Manchester quote becomes a flight, in six outlines of the kind that pass through our booking notes. The particulars are changed.

DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK

A morning meeting in Manchester and home for dinner

Biggin Hill - Manchester and return, Citation CJ3+, about 40 min each way · 4 pax

Wheels up at seven, on the ground before eight, in the meeting by nine and back at Biggin Hill in time for dinner. The aircraft and crew waited at the handler rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still came in below two separate one-way charters. With a train that needs two hours each way, the jet gave the client most of the day back.

MATCH NIGHT · THE LATE DEPARTURE

Six people, a midweek fixture and a departure after the whistle

Manchester - London Luton, Phenom 300E, about 30 min · 6 pax

The match finished late and the aircraft could not leave before the night period began at 23:00. The slot and a night quota were requested with the booking, the handler's call-out was confirmed in writing and the noise class of the aircraft was checked first. Nothing about the flight was difficult. The paperwork was the whole job.

ARRIVAL FROM ABROAD · THE PAPERWORK

A family arriving from Geneva

Geneva - Manchester, Citation XLS+, about 1 h 35 min · 6 pax

Two British passports and four from elsewhere in Europe. The General Aviation Report was filed before departure, the visitors who needed no visa held their Electronic Travel Authorisations before boarding, and the party cleared customs and immigration at the airport without a diversion. The car met them at the handler and not at the terminal.

RACING · THE OTHER AIRPORT WON

A group for the Grand National

Biggin Hill - Liverpool John Lennon, Citation CJ3+, about 40 min · 6 pax

They asked for Manchester because it was the name they knew. Aintree is on the Liverpool side, and Liverpool John Lennon is a 24-hour airport with a 2,286 m runway and an executive terminal. Same aircraft, a shorter transfer and a driver waiting at the right door. The only cost was asking where the racecourse was before quoting.

A DOG ON BOARD · THE VET WINDOW

Four adults and a labrador for a weekend in Nice

Manchester - Nice and return, Citation Latitude, about 1 h 55 min each way · 4 pax + dog

The dog went out on the Friday and the return left on the Monday. A vet in Nice gave the tapeworm treatment on the Sunday evening, inside the window of 24 hours to five days before landing in Britain, and recorded it in the dog's travel document. We booked the vet visit and the departure time together, so the whole arrangement was settled in one exchange of messages.

EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING NORTH

A jet already going your way

London Luton - Manchester, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 30 min · 3 pax

The aircraft was based in the north-west and had spent the weekend in London with another client. The passenger gave a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to Manchester.

Frequently asked questions about flying to Manchester

1How long is a private jet flight from London to Manchester?

About 40 minutes from Biggin Hill, Southampton or Luton, and around 35 minutes from London City or Farnborough, covering roughly 117 to 154 nautical miles. From Edinburgh, Glasgow or Newcastle allow about 40 minutes, and from Birmingham about 30 minutes. Manchester keeps British time, so there is no clock change, and the train from London takes a little over two hours.

2How much does a private jet to Manchester cost?

From about £3,100 one way in a Pilatus PC-12 from Luton, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff or Newcastle, and from £5,300 in a Citation CJ3+ from Biggin Hill, London City, Farnborough, Southampton, Edinburgh or Glasgow. A flight in from Paris Le Bourget starts at £5,700 and one from Geneva at £10,200. Match weekends, arena concerts and the Christmas market weekends price above these figures.

3Which Manchester airport should a private jet use?

Manchester Airport (MAN / EGCC) for almost every trip. It is about seven miles south-west of the centre, has two runways of more than 3,000 m, customs and immigration on site and two private handlers, Signature Aviation and Weston Aviation. Every flight needs a slot, and the night period runs from 23:00 to 07:00. Liverpool John Lennon (LPL / EGGP) suits Liverpool and Aintree, and Leeds Bradford (LBA / EGNM) suits Yorkshire. Manchester Barton is for helicopters and light aircraft, not jets.

4When should I book a private jet to Manchester?

Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For a big home fixture, a stadium concert, Pride weekend in August or the Christmas market weeks from November, allow three to four weeks. Slots, cars and hotels all tighten on the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from another base.

5Can I fly on from Manchester to Dubai, Geneva or the Alps?

Yes. Geneva and Zurich are about an hour and a half in a midsize jet, from £10,200 and £10,350 one way, and Chambéry for the French Alps is a similar flight from £10,600. Nice takes about 1 hour 55 minutes from £15,500. Dubai (3,176 nautical miles) and New York Teterboro (3,013) are single sectors of between six and seven hours in a Global 6000, from £87,450 and £83,200.

6Can I bring my dog to Manchester on a private jet?

Yes. Between British airports a dog needs no pet paperwork. Arriving from abroad, a dog needs a microchip fitted before its rabies vaccination, a vaccination at least 21 days old, a pet travel document from a vet and a tapeworm treatment given between 24 hours and five days before landing. Cats need no tapeworm treatment. The animal must enter by an approved route, which for a private charter we confirm in writing before booking.
