Private jet charter in Stavanger
Norway's oil capital is a short hop from Britain, about an hour and a half in a light jet from London, and the flight is the easy part of the day. What shapes the trip is the business around it: diaries built on fixed dates, small teams who want to be home by evening, a fjord country behind the city that turns a meeting into a long weekend, and a border that is inside Schengen without being inside the EU. Private Jets UK arranges the charter around all of that. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Stavanger Sola is an easy airport for a private jet. It has a dedicated general aviation terminal, handling on request round the clock and customs on site. Two things need planning, though: it is a slot-coordinated airport, and a dog has to come into Norway through Oslo.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Stavanger depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from London City, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Stavanger?
An hour and a half from the London fields we use, plus an hour of clock difference on arrival, because Norway keeps Central European time. At 279 to 565 nautical miles from the British airfields in the table, Stavanger is a sector for a light or midsize jet from the whole of Britain, and from Aberdeen it is only about an hour in the air, the shortest sector in the table. Each row gives the sector from one British field, with the aircraft we would normally quote.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and the wheels touch down at Sola a little before twenty to nine British time, which is twenty to ten on the Norwegian clock. The airport is about 11 km south-west of the centre in a straight line, and the Forus business district, where Equinor has its headquarters, is a short drive from the apron, so a client who set out from central London at half past five can be at a Stavanger meeting table by half past ten local time. Add the drive to the British airfield and the quick processing at both ends and the journey from central London to central Stavanger comes to roughly three and a half hours, with no terminal queue in the middle of it.
Light jet or midsize: what usually decides it on this route
– Up to four or five people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the right answer and a comfortable one: about 1 hour 35 minutes in a CJ3+ from London City or Biggin Hill, and about an hour from Aberdeen. The saving over a midsize cabin is real and shows in the price table;
– Boots and waterproofs for Preikestolen, an exhibition stand's worth of boxes, or a survey team's equipment cases take the luggage past what a light-jet hold swallows, and then we quote a midsize jet beside the light one. Technical kit and wet-weather gear need more room than people expect;
– A heavy jet earns its place for a delegation travelling as one party, or when Stavanger is only the first stop of a longer Scandinavian itinerary and one aircraft stays with you throughout.

Prices for the private jet flights to Stavanger
Typical trips from Britain, cheapest first, all of them into Stavanger Sola. At 501 nautical miles from London City, the run is about 75 nautical miles shorter than the same flight to Bergen, and the price follows the distance. The ONS exhibition week in late August, the Gladmat weekend in late July and the summer Preikestolen weeks can sit above these figures, and the calendar block further down explains when.

Private jet flights from Stavanger
Stavanger is the natural start for a loop through southern Norway. Bergen and Kristiansand are turboprop hops of about forty minutes, Oslo is an hour and a bit, and Copenhagen, Billund and Stockholm are jet sectors that fit inside a morning. Aberdeen, across the North Sea, is the sector that ties the two oil cities together. Typical one-way prices:

Norway from the air: when a turboprop beats the road
Bergen is 89 nautical miles from Stavanger and Kristiansand 90, so a Pilatus PC-12 covers either in well under an hour, where the roads along this coast cross fjords and run through tunnels. Oslo is 191 nautical miles away, a little over an hour in the same aircraft. Trondheim, at 327, is the longest domestic hop on the list and still a turboprop job. Copenhagen and Billund are the two Danish sectors in the table, the first for the capital and the second for Billund and Legoland. Once the first landing in Norway is done, every domestic hop is a flight with no border control.
Before you accept a Norwegian onward quote
– Check the runway at the far end. The main airports on this coast are long enough for a light or midsize jet, since Haugesund is listed at 2,120 metres and Kristiansand at 2,035, but the small fjord and island strips are not, and a quote that puts a jet on a short strip will be revised once the real aircraft is chosen;
– Check whether the legs are one booking. Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo over three days cost less as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of going home between stops;
– If a dog or a cat is aboard, check the order of the stops. The animal has to enter Norway through Oslo, so the first landing is Gardermoen and Stavanger comes second.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Stavanger:
Light jets, for a short crossing
Under two hours from London, so a light cabin is not a long sit. It suits up to five people with ordinary luggage, and for most oil-sector day trips it is all that is needed.
Midsize, for kit, cases and walking gear
Survey equipment, exhibition material and a week of fjord-walking clothes are what push a party past the light-jet hold, and a midsize cabin also gives a team room to work on the way.
Super-midsize and large
For a delegation that travels as one party, for a board that works in the air, and for itineraries that continue from Stavanger across Scandinavia instead of turning round.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the domestic hops: Bergen, Kristiansand and Oslo are an hour or less in the air, and a turboprop is happy on the shorter runways of the smaller Norwegian fields.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: the Lysefjord, Preikestolen and Kjerag, or a coastal loop over the Jæren beaches. Where a helicopter may land away from an aerodrome is limited, so the site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Stavanger sits in the middle of the North Sea energy corridor, so outside the busiest weeks there is often an aircraft already within an hour of Sola, in Aberdeen, Bergen or Oslo, and that is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Stavanger
One airport does the work. The others on a Norwegian quote are either a diversion option, a regional field for a different part of the coast, or an Oslo stop that has nothing to do with the destination.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Stavanger Airport, Sola SVG / ENZV |
The answer for every jet trip. About 11 km south-west of the centre, with a main runway, 18/36, listed at 2,556 by 60 metres with a CAT II approach (sources quote the declared distances differently, so we confirm the usable length for the aircraft), a second runway, 10/28, of 2,449 metres that is used mainly by helicopters, a control tower listed as manned round the clock, and customs on site as an airport of entry. Business aviation goes through the dedicated general aviation terminal listed as run by Sundt Air Executive Handling, which offers a VIP lounge and a crew lounge, rest rooms with showers and a conference room. The airport is operated by Avinor and carries close to four million passengers a year, so the apron is shared with scheduled traffic |
| Haugesund HAU / ENHD |
A primary Avinor airport about 58 km north of Sola in a straight line, with a 2,120 m runway that takes light and midsize jets. It makes sense when the trip is really to the Haugesund and Karmøy coast, or as a diversion if the weather at Sola closes in |
| Kristiansand KRS / ENCN |
A primary airport about 161 km east-south-east of Sola in a straight line, with a 2,035 m runway. The right choice for the south coast of Norway, the Sørlandet beaches and the harbour towns, and a flight of about 40 minutes from Stavanger in a turboprop |
| Bergen, Flesland BGO / ENBR |
A 2,990 m runway about 159 km north of Sola in a straight line, with customs on site. It is the weather alternate for the whole of the west coast and the gateway for the Hardangerfjord and the Sognefjord, which makes it the natural second stop for anyone combining Stavanger with the fjords further north |
| Oslo Gardermoen OSL / ENGM |
Not an alternative to Stavanger but a stop that pets make necessary. Animals arriving from outside the EU and the EEA, Britain included, may enter Norway only through Oslo Airport Gardermoen or the Storskog crossing at Kirkenes. Gardermoen is 191 nautical miles from Stavanger, a little over an hour in a turboprop |
Four points settle most Stavanger arrivals:
Choose the handler
The general aviation terminal at Sola is listed as run by Sundt Air Executive Handling, which lists handling round the clock on request, with a VIP lounge, a crew lounge, rest rooms, showers, a conference room, catering and rental cars. A second name, Access Oslo Executive Handling, also appears in the listings for Sola. Handling is listed as optional here, which is not the case at every Norwegian airport, but we book it on every flight, since it is what puts the car and the passport check at the aircraft door.
Hours, slots and noise
The tower is listed as manned round the clock, but Sola is a coordinated airport, so a slot is required, and noise abatement procedures are in effect. A night arrival, a weekend departure or a late finish after a conference dinner is therefore something we confirm in writing first, and the week of the ONS exhibition is the one to book early.
Border and passport
Norway is in Schengen and Britain is not, so passport control comes on arrival, normally in the handler's terminal. British passport holders need no visa for a short visit, with a passport issued less than ten years before entry and valid for three months beyond departure. Norway is not in the EU, so customs apply as well: goods up to NOK 6,000 (about £450) after more than 24 hours abroad are duty-free, and cash above NOK 25,000 (about £1,900) must be declared.
Car and the airport's other life
Sola has a second terminal for the offshore helicopters that fly to the North Sea platforms, and the military side of the field hosts search-and-rescue helicopters. A driver told only Sola may wait at the wrong building, so give us the handler as well as the flight. For the ONS week and the Gladmat weekend, book the car together with the aircraft.

Border, passport and the way home
Because Norway is inside Schengen, the first landing is where the formalities happen. A later hop to Bergen or Oslo is a domestic flight with no border control. Norway is not in the EU, however, so the customs side of the arrival is a real one: the quotas for food, alcohol and tobacco apply to everyone entering the country, and the value and cash limits above apply to every member of the party, which matters for a team arriving with exhibition material or equipment that is going to be left behind. The way home follows the British rules. The operator files the General Aviation Report with the British border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and any passenger of another nationality should check whether one is required for the return.

From the apron to Gamle Stavanger
Stavanger is a compact harbour city that became rich on oil, and you reach it from Sola in about the time it takes to read a briefing. Gamle Stavanger, the old town, is a quarter of 18th- and 19th-century wooden houses protected as cultural heritage, the Norwegian Petroleum Museum explains how the industry works, and the Concert Hall stands in Bjergsted park just north of the old town. The distances that matter run outward, to the fjord and to the neighbouring cities.
about 11 km south-west in a straight line, and the Forus business district, home of Equinor, is a short drive from the airportabout 11 km
about 15 km south; the two cities have grown into one built-up areaabout 15 km
about 25 km as the crow flies, by road over the Ryfylke tunnel to Preikestolen Fjellstue, where the walk beginsabout 40 minutes by car
89 nm by Pilatus PC-12, north along the coastabout 40 minutes
191 nm by Pilatus PC-12, across the mountainsabout 1 h 05 min
Flying to Stavanger with a dog or a cat
Norway asks more of a pet than most of Europe, because it sits outside the EU and runs its own rules, and one of those rules decides the route of the whole flight: an animal arriving from Britain must come in through Oslo. The animal still sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector this short most dogs sleep through it.

What Norway asks for:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination and not after it;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, valid from 21 days after the primary vaccination is completed;
- A health certificate from an official veterinarian, following the EU model for animals from third countries, for each trip;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment with praziquantel or an equivalent product, given by a vet 24 to 120 hours before entering Norway and recorded in the certificate. Cats and ferrets are exempt;
- A rabies antibody blood test, unless the country of departure is treated as a listed country; the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, Mattilsynet, confirms the position for your dates and we put it in writing;
- Notice to Mattilsynet at least 48 hours before arrival, and entry through Oslo Airport Gardermoen or Storskog, with no other crossing allowed;
- No more than five animals on a non-commercial trip.
What catches owners out on the Stavanger run
– The first landing is Oslo. Stavanger cannot be the point of entry for an animal from Britain, so the aircraft lands at Gardermoen first, the animal and its papers are presented there, and the flight carries on to Sola on a domestic leg of 191 nautical miles. It adds a stop and a few minutes on the ground, and it has to be in the quote from the start;
– The tapeworm treatment is needed once, for the way in. Norway wants it 24 to 120 hours before entry, so a dog sees a vet in Britain before leaving, and a direct flight home from Norway needs no second treatment unless the dog has been in another country or the routing includes one;
– A dog on a Preikestolen weekend is an ordinary booking, but the path is steep in places and has no fences. Settle the hotel, the helicopter and any boat trip before the quote, because each one has to accept the animal separately.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the flight home, a dog flying directly from Norway to Britain needs no tapeworm treatment; it is needed only if the dog has been elsewhere or the routing includes another country, and we confirm the entry point, the routing and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight.
The Stavanger calendar: oil, food and a very popular rock
The year here has two engines. One is the energy industry, with its conferences and its fixed dates, and the other is the leisure trade that follows the fjord and the festivals. Rain is moderate for the west coast, about 1,250 mm a year at the airport, with May the driest month and October the wettest, which matters less to a jet than the cloud over the Lysefjord does to a helicopter.
Why the conference week costs more
Not the flying. The Scandinavian light and midsize fleet is large and Stavanger sits in the middle of the North Sea corridor. What gets tight is Sola's slot allocation, the handler's apron and the good cars and rooms in a compact city, all in the same days. A booking made a fortnight before ONS can still be done, but it pays more, and it may mean an aircraft positioned from Aberdeen or Oslo. The same booking made as soon as the dates are fixed is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Stavanger is an easy city to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two, weather permitting.
Ways to bring the Stavanger price down
- Shift the dates by a few days where the diary allows. The days either side of ONS and the weeks outside July and August are calmer;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Aberdeen, Bergen or Oslo needs less positioning than one coming from the south of England, and on a sector this short positioning is a large share of the bill;
- Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise. Four people and four bags do not need a midsize, and the money saved pays for the car, the hotel and a helicopter hour over the Lysefjord.
Types of flights
Stavanger produces a different mix from the Alpine or Mediterranean destinations we cover, because it is where the Norwegian energy business lives, with a spectacular landscape an hour away.
- Energy-sector business travel, with operators, suppliers and consultants meeting on fixed dates, in small teams, and often asking to be back in Britain the same evening;
- Conference traffic around ONS and other industry meetings in Stavanger Forum;
- Weekend trips to Preikestolen and the Lysefjord, with a helicopter hour added in good weather;
- Food and music weekends around Gladmat, MaiJazz and Food and Fun;
- Onward flights to Bergen, Oslo or the Danish cities, so that one aircraft covers a short Scandinavian circuit.
Stavanger is a workable day trip. Wheels up at seven, on the ground a little before ten local time, and off again at six in the evening gives you about eight hours in the city and puts you back in Britain by half past six. The crew waits at the airport during the meetings and that waiting time is charged, yet the total is usually below two one-way charters, and we price the route both ways so you can compare.
Empty Legs
Some jets cross the North Sea with nobody aboard, on their way to the next job, and the operator will sell that leg cheaply rather than fly it for nothing. That is an empty leg. On the Stavanger route they follow the energy diary and the weekends, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Stavanger empty legs come from
– Conference weeks. Aircraft bring delegates in at the start of the week and leave empty, and the legs back towards Aberdeen and the London fields on the final afternoon are the ones most often offered;
– Summer weekends. Operators bring parties in for the fjord and the festivals and then reposition, and the legs that follow between Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo can be cheap;
– North Sea rotation. Operators positioning between Aberdeen, Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo put short legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
The corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, so a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. The trade is the usual one: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Stavanger match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Stavanger a helicopter is a way of seeing the Lysefjord, not of crossing the city. Sola is the hub of the North Sea oil helicopter traffic, with Bristow Norway and CHC Helikopter Service as the hub operators, and the sightseeing flights take off from the same airfield, so the jet and the helicopter can share a single timetable. The flights that change a day are the ones that go east over Preikestolen and the fjord to Kjerag, a mountain of 1,110 metres at the head of the Lysefjord, which is 42 km long and 422 metres deep at its deepest.
a short flight to Preikestolen with views down the Lysefjord; a private flight is arranged on requestabout 35 minutes
the flat farmland, the long beaches of Jæren and the city from the air, the only one of the standard flights that does not go to the fjordabout 45 minutes
the long standard flight, with the city, the fjord, the rock and the head of the fjord in one loopabout 60 minutes
a second operator flies about 30 minutes in the air for the short route and about 60 for the long one, both with a transfer from the city to Sola1 h 20 min to 1 h 50 min in all
Before you plan around a helicopter
– Fjord weather sets the schedule. Cloud on the Lysefjord can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a fjord flight needs a road alternative to Preikestolen and, if you can spare it, a second day;
– The machines are small. The tour helicopters, Robinson R44, EC120B and AS350, carry three to five passengers, so a party of six or more needs two aircraft or a different type, and for the summer weeks the helicopter should be booked together with the jet;
– A flight over Preikestolen is not a landing on it. Where a helicopter may land away from an aerodrome is restricted, so the site is agreed with the operator before the quote, and so is any animal on board.
The machines we usually propose for a private party on this ground are the single-engine Airbus H125 for the fjords, the wider H130 for scenic and lodge transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and a larger type for bigger groups. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Stavanger charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning in Stavanger and home for the evening
Biggin Hill - Stavanger and return, Citation CJ3+, 1 h 35 min each way · 4 pax
Four people left a London airfield at seven, landed at Sola a little before ten local time and were in a meeting room in the Forus district by half past ten. The aircraft and crew waited at the airport rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. They left Stavanger at six and were back in Britain before seven.
CONFERENCE WEEK · BOOKED EARLY
Six people for the ONS exhibition
Farnborough - Stavanger, Phenom 300E, 1 h 30 min · 6 pax
Three days of stands and meetings, with the dates set by the exhibition and not by the client. The booking went in as soon as the dates were known, which is what kept the slot and the car available in the busiest week of the Stavanger business year. A booking made ten days out would have cost more and might have meant an aircraft brought from Aberdeen.
ENERGY CORRIDOR · SAME DAY
A delegation from Aberdeen for one afternoon
Aberdeen - Stavanger and return, Citation CJ3+, 1 h each way · 5 pax
The shortest crossing from Britain and one of the busiest. Five people, laptops and printed folders, a car at the aircraft door and a return in the evening. The handler arranged the passport check at the terminal, and the customs allowance was explained to the group before they left Britain, so nobody stood in a queue.
FJORDS · THE HELICOPTER DAY
Four friends and the Lysefjord from the air
London Luton - Stavanger, Phenom 300E, 1 h 25 min · 4 pax
They had set aside a single day for the helicopter. The aircraft were booked together, the jet landed at Sola on the morning of the flight, and a road plan to Preikestolen was kept in reserve in case the cloud sat down on the fjord. It lifted by lunchtime, and the party flew the long loop to Kjerag with an hour to spare.
A DOG ON BOARD · OSLO FIRST
Four adults and a spaniel for a long weekend
Biggin Hill - Oslo - Stavanger, Phenom 300E · 4 pax + dog
The dog could not enter Norway at Stavanger, so the aircraft landed at Gardermoen first for the animal check and carried on to Sola. The tapeworm treatment was timed inside the 24 to 120 hour window before the way in, and the direct flight home from Norway needed none. The hotel agreed to the dog, and the whole plan was settled in a single exchange of messages.
EMPTY LEG · FRIDAY EVENING WEST
A jet already going your way
Stavanger - London Stansted, Phenom 300E empty leg · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the week and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for an evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Stavanger
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Stavanger?
About 1 hour 35 minutes from London City or Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 1 hour 25 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes from Luton or Farnborough in a Phenom, covering roughly 486 to 527 nautical miles. From Manchester allow about 1 hour 20 minutes, from Edinburgh about 1 hour 15 minutes and from Aberdeen about an hour. Stavanger is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly before ten o'clock local time.
2How much does a private jet to Stavanger cost?
From about £7,550 one way on a light jet out of London City, and £7,650 from Biggin Hill. A Phenom from Luton or Farnborough runs £7,450 to £7,900, a midsize cabin costs £10,150 from Bristol, and from Aberdeen a light jet starts at £5,300, from Edinburgh £5,800. The ONS week, the Gladmat weekend and the summer Preikestolen weeks can price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for Stavanger?
Stavanger Airport, Sola (SVG / ENZV) for every jet trip. It is about 11 km from the centre, has a main runway listed at 2,556 m, a tower listed as manned round the clock and customs on site, and business aviation is handled in the general aviation terminal, listed as run by Sundt Air Executive Handling. Slots are required because the airport is coordinated. Haugesund and Kristiansand are the nearest alternatives for other parts of the coast.
4When should I book a private jet to Stavanger?
Outside the peaks a day or two is usually enough. For the ONS exhibition in late August of every second year, for the Gladmat weekend in late July and for the summer Preikestolen weeks, book as soon as the dates are fixed. Slots, handling, apron space, hotels and cars all get tight in the same days, and a late booking tends to pay more for an aircraft positioned from Aberdeen or Oslo.
5Can I fly on from Stavanger to Preikestolen, Bergen or Oslo?
Yes. Bergen is 89 nautical miles and Oslo 191, so a Pilatus PC-12 does the first in under an hour and the second in a little over an hour, once the first landing in Norway is done. Preikestolen is about 40 minutes by car from Stavanger, and helicopter tours from Sola cover it in about 35 minutes, or about 60 minutes if the trip goes on over the Lysefjord to Kjerag.
6Can I take my dog to Stavanger on a private jet?
Yes, but the first landing must be Oslo. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and Norway asks for a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a vaccination at least 21 days old, a health certificate, notice to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority at least 48 hours before arrival and a tapeworm treatment from a vet 24 to 120 hours before entering Norway. Animals from Britain may enter only through Oslo Gardermoen or Storskog. A direct flight home from Norway to Britain needs no tapeworm treatment for a dog, which is needed only if the dog has been in another country or the routing includes one, and cats are exempt.
