Private jet charter in Zagreb
A private jet from London reaches Zagreb in a little over two hours, and the clock matters more than the cabin: the General Aviation Terminal keeps day hours, while the airport itself never closes. Private Jets UK builds the charter around that detail. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Zagreb has a 3,252 m runway, customs and immigration listed as available round the clock, and a separate terminal for private flights, while Graz, Ljubljana and Zadar stand ready as alternatives when the programme points beyond the capital. The real decisions are the landing airport, the arrival hour and what happens on day two.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Zagreb depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Zagreb?
Two hours ten minutes from Biggin Hill or London City in a light jet, two and a half hours from Edinburgh, and one hour of clock difference to allow for on arrival, because Croatia keeps Central European time. At 747 to 1,020 nautical miles from the British fields we use, Zagreb is a light-jet sector from the south of England and a job for a bigger cabin from Scotland or Northern Ireland. The table gives the sector from each field.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Leave a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground in Zagreb a little after ten local time. The airport lies about 10 km south-east of the city, and private passengers go through a terminal of their own with a separate immigration and customs point, so the arrival is quick. A client who left a London office at half past six can be at a lunch table on Ban Jelačić Square before one. The one thing to plan around is the evening: the General Aviation Terminal is open from 07:00 to 21:00, and landside entry stops at 19:00, so a late arrival is handled through the passenger terminal unless the terminal is opened for you on request.
Light jet or midsize: how the choice usually goes on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, take a light jet. Just over two hours in a CJ3+ or a Phenom is no hardship, and what you save against a midsize cabin pays for the car and the hotel;
– Past four, or with ski kit for Sljeme and the Alps beyond, golf clubs for the spring, or cases of wine loaded on the way home, we quote a midsize alongside so that you see both figures. On this route the hold often decides before the seat count does;
– A heavy jet earns its place when the party is large, when the same aircraft stays with you across several stops, or when Zagreb is the first leg of a longer journey. Runway length is not the issue: 3,252 m takes everything we send.

Onward from Zagreb: when the aircraft wins and when the car does
Ljubljana is 76 nautical miles away on the chart, and the road to the Slovenian capital runs about 140 km past Bregana, so the choice depends on the schedule and not on the money. Graz is 83 nautical miles, about 40 minutes in a Pilatus PC-12. The coast is where the aircraft pays: Zadar is 107 nautical miles, Split 138 and Dubrovnik 222, from about 45 minutes to about 1 h 10 min in the same turboprop, against a long day on the motorway. All of these are inside the Schengen area, so the first landing carries the formalities and the hops after it are free of passport control.
Before you accept a Croatian onward quote
– Which airport at the far end, and what it can do for you. Split, Dubrovnik and Zadar are summer airports that fill with scheduled and charter traffic, and handling and parking are checked before the quote is written, not after it;
– Whether the legs are one booking. Zagreb to Split to Dubrovnik and home over four days costs noticeably less arranged as one trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of returning to base between stops.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Zagreb:
Light jets, the usual choice for four or five people
At just over two hours this is a comfortable sector for a small party with ordinary luggage. Nothing here lacks the range, so the money is better spent on the car and the hotel than on a bigger cabin you will not fill.
Midsize, for ski bags, golf clubs and a long weekend
The hold fills faster than the seats on a Croatian trip: skis for the winter, clubs for the spring, and whatever comes home from the markets in December.
Super-midsize and large
For a team that wants to work in the air, a group travelling as one party, or a trip that carries on from Zagreb to the Gulf. The 3,252 m runway takes all of these without restriction.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the Croatian and Central European hops: Ljubljana, Graz, Zadar and Split are about an hour or less in the air, and the saving over a jet on those distances is large.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: the slopes of Medvednica behind the city, a country house on the way to Varaždin, or a sightseeing loop over the Upper Town. Where a helicopter may land is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. Zagreb sits among Ljubljana, Graz, Vienna and Budapest, so there is often an aircraft within an hour of the airport, and a quote may name one of those cities as the positioning point. That is common for a capital airport, and it is frequently where the better price comes from.

Business aviation airports in Zagreb
One airport carries most Zagreb trips, and three more matter when the programme leaves the capital. Which one is right depends on where the meeting is, not on the aircraft.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Zagreb, Franjo Tuđman ZAG / LDZA |
The answer for any trip whose business is in Zagreb or central Croatia. About 10 km south-east of the city, with a single runway of 3,252 m by 45 m (04/22), a Category III instrument approach on runway 04 and Category I on runway 22. Private flights use the General Aviation Terminal on the western side of the airport, with its own lounge, meeting rooms, showers and flight-planning room and a separate immigration and customs point. Ground handling is by Havas. Fuel is Jet A-1, and de-icing is available round the clock from 1 November to 15 April. There is no hangar space for visiting aircraft, so a jet that must stay under cover overnight is placed elsewhere |
| Ljubljana, Jože Pučnik LJU / LJLJ |
The Slovenian alternative, about 24 km north-west of Ljubljana, with a 3,300 m runway (12/30) and a Category IIIb approach on runway 30. It is roughly 135 km from Zagreb in a straight line and further by road, with the Bregana border on the way, so it is the choice when the meeting is in Ljubljana or the programme heads for Bled and the Julian Alps rather than for Zagreb |
| Graz GRZ / LOWG |
The Austrian alternative, about 9 km south of Graz, with a main runway of 3,000 m, a lounge for premium passengers and charter traffic that is routine. It lies about 150 km from Zagreb in a straight line. Choose it when the meeting is in Styria, when the party carries on to the Austrian Alps, or when parking at Zagreb cannot be confirmed for the day |
| Zadar ZAD / LDZD |
The coastal airport, about 8 km from Zadar, with two runways of 2,500 m and 2,000 m, and the only airport in Croatia with two. It doubles as a main training base of the Croatian Air Force. It is not an alternative to Zagreb for a city meeting, but for a party that wants the Dalmatian coast or the national parks it saves a long drive, and we confirm handling and parking there before quoting |
Four things to settle before a Zagreb landing:
The terminal and its services
The airport runs the General Aviation Terminal itself, with a welcome reception, lounges, meeting rooms, high-speed internet, satellite television and showers. Standard catering is included in the passenger and crew charge: hot and cold drinks, bakery and fruit of the day. Hot and cold meals are ordered on demand and billed separately. One private car may wait for up to an hour, and a car that must drive onto the apron needs prior written consent.
Hours, slots and permits
The airport and its customs and immigration are listed as available round the clock, but the terminal itself is open from 07:00 to 21:00 and can be opened on request outside those hours for an hourly charge. A British operator running a charter also needs an operating permit from the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, filed by the operator at least three working days ahead for one to four flights and fifteen for a series, which we track for you.
Border and passport
Croatia is in Schengen and Britain is not, so you clear the border inside the General Aviation Terminal at its own immigration and customs point. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. A first-time visitor may be asked to register a photograph and fingerprints at the EU border system, which is free.
Car and late nights
Give us the terminal as well as the flight, because the terminal stands apart from the main building and a driver told only "airport" may wait in the wrong place. The city is about 10 km away. An arrival after the terminal closes is still possible, but it goes through the passenger terminal unless the opening is arranged beforehand.

Border, passport and the road to Slovenia
The first landing in the Schengen area is where the formalities happen, and Zagreb is a good place for them: private passengers use a terminal of their own, and the team knows the aircraft in advance. After that the border is invisible. Croatia is a full member of the Schengen area, so the drive west to Slovenia, about 30 km to the Bregana crossing, or north to Austria and Hungary needs no further passport control, although a car can still be stopped for a document check. For the return, the General Aviation Report for Britain is filed not earlier than 48 hours and not later than 2 hours before departure. Hotels register foreign guests with the police within 48 hours, so keep your passport with you at check-in.

From the apron to the Upper Town
Zagreb is a capital of about 767,000 people on the Sava river, at the foot of Medvednica, whose summit Sljeme rises to 1,035 m behind the city. The old Upper Town and the grid of the Lower Town are close to each other, and the airport is a short drive away. What matters to a private client is what lies within a morning of it: the wooded hills of Samobor, the baroque streets of Varaždin, the Slovenian frontier and, for those with a day to spare, the lakes of Plitvice.
about 10 km, with Ban Jelačić Square, the cathedral and the Upper Town at the end of the drivetypically 20 to 25 minutes
about 24 km west, a small town in the hills known for its cream cake and a main square with cafesabout 30 minutes
about 80 km north on the A4 motorway, a baroque old town that was once Croatia's capitalabout 1 hour

Flying to Zagreb with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork is the part of a Croatian trip that needs planning, and the flight is the easy bit: the animal sits beside you in the cabin, never in a hold, and on a sector of just over two hours most simply sleep. The date on the health certificate is the detail that goes wrong, because the certificate is valid for only ten days for entry to the EU.

What an EU country such as Croatia asks for when a pet arrives from Britain:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time. Croatia still accepts an older tattoo if it is clearly legible, but a microchip is the safe route;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed after the first vaccination before the animal travels;
- An Animal Health Certificate for each trip, issued by an Official Veterinarian and valid for ten days for entry to the EU. A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU;
- A written statement that the animal is not travelling for sale or a change of ownership, and no more than five animals per traveller. Pets from outside the EU must enter at a designated point, which we confirm in writing for the airport;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Zagreb run
– Croatia does not ask for tapeworm treatment on the way in, only Britain asks for it on the way home, so it is a vet appointment you book in Zagreb towards the end of the stay. Count back from the departure time, because the window is 24 to 120 hours and a flight that moves by a day can move the window out of reach;
– The order of the chip and the vaccine matters. A vaccination given before the microchip does not count, and an animal that arrives without the right paperwork can be refused entry, so the certificate is checked line by line before the flight, not at the terminal;
– Some breeds are restricted. Bull terrier-type dogs and their crosses that are not in an FCI register cannot enter Croatia, so tell us the breed when you ask for the quote, not afterwards.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the entry point and the paperwork on the way home, we confirm both in writing before the flight, and our managers check the position for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Zagreb calendar: a long Advent and a short ski season
Zagreb has a long December season and a scattering of summer festival weekends, with trade fairs and cultural weeks in between. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a festival weekend costs more
Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and Zagreb is well placed in it. What gets tight on a busy weekend is the number of good cars and rooms in the centre, and the parking positions on the apron, since the airport has no hangar space for visiting aircraft. A booking made two weeks before an Advent weekend can still be done, but it may mean an aircraft positioned from Ljubljana, Graz or Vienna, and that costs more. The same booking made four or five weeks earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside those weeks Zagreb is one of the easier capitals to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Zagreb price down
- Move the dates by a few days where you can. The week after Advent opens, and the weeks between the summer festivals, are calmer than the weekends themselves;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet that already sits in Vienna, Ljubljana or Budapest takes less positioning than one coming from Britain, and on a sector of this length positioning is a meaningful part of the bill;
- Check whether Ljubljana or Graz works as well. On the same light jet from Biggin Hill, the sector to Ljubljana is priced about £900 lower than the one to Zagreb and the sector to Graz about £750 lower. The saving is real and so is the drive, so let the location of the meeting decide.
Types of flights
Zagreb produces a different mix from the Alpine or the Mediterranean destinations we cover, because it is the capital, the seat of government and the head office of nearly all of the country's largest companies, and at the same time the gate to a coast that is a long drive away.
- Business and government travel, with fixed meeting dates and a small team: ministries and company head offices are in the city, and a meeting often means a morning in and an afternoon out;
- Trade fairs and congresses at the Zagreb Fair, from the interiors fair in September to the book fair in November, when delegations arrive in small groups;
- City breaks and festival weekends, from Advent to the music festival at Lake Jarun, often with a dog and a short hotel stay;
- Day trips to Plitvice, Samobor and Varaždin, with a car meeting the aircraft and a driver who knows the roads;
- Winter sport at Sljeme and, with a longer drive or a short onward flight, in the Alps of Slovenia and Austria;
- Hops to Ljubljana, Graz, Vienna and the Adriatic coast inside a longer European loop.
The day trip is the one to look at closely. Land a little after ten, leave at five in the afternoon local time and you are on the British side again shortly after six in the evening, UK time, with seven hours on the ground in between. A same-day return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. We quote it both ways, so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Zagreb does not have a single event that creates them, so they come from the pattern of neighbouring airports, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Zagreb empty legs come from
– Advent weekends. Small parties arrive on the Friday and the aircraft goes home empty, which produces an outbound leg on the Friday or Saturday;
– The Adriatic season. Aircraft that take guests to Split, Zadar or Dubrovnik sometimes reposition through Zagreb, and a leg towards Britain from there is one that can be offered;
– Ski and festival weekends. Operators moving aircraft to and from Graz and Ljubljana put short legs on the market, and those short hops can be cheap.
Because the Croatian corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Zagreb match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
In Zagreb a helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip and not the middle. The Upper Town is small enough to cross by car or on foot, and the places where rotary flight changes the journey are Medvednica above the city, the road north to Varaždin and the lakes to the south.
the Upper Town, the cathedral spires, the Sava and the grid of the Lower Town seen from the airtypically 30 minutes

37 nm in a straight line, against about an hour on the motorwayabout 27 minutes
59 nm in a straight line, against about two and a half hours by roadabout 39 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A landing away from an aerodrome needs an agreed site and the landowner's consent, so we check the status of a hotel lawn or a hillside before the quote is written, not after it, and in a national park the park rules come first;
– Weather sets the schedule. Fog, low cloud and winter snow on the mountain can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a transfer needs a road alternative planned into the same day;
– A flight across the border into Slovenia or Austria means a second set of permissions. Tell us the landing site at the other end when you ask for the quote, and book the helicopter together with the jet.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for scenic and mountain work, the wider H130 for villa and country-house transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and the H155 for larger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Zagreb charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
DAY TRIP · OUT AND BACK
A morning meeting in Zagreb and home for dinner
Biggin Hill - Zagreb and return, Citation CJ3+, about 2 h 10 min each way · 4 pax
Wheels up at seven, on the ground a little after ten local time, in the meeting by eleven and back at Biggin Hill in the early evening. The aircraft and crew waited at the General Aviation Terminal rather than going home, which is a real line in the quote and still comes in below two separate one-way charters. A long day, and it works.
TRADE FAIR · FIXED DATES
A buying team for an autumn exhibition
London Luton - Zagreb, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 10 min · 8 pax
The dates were set by the fair and not by the client. Eight people, laptops, sample cases and a request for one car to meet the aircraft. The booking went in three weeks ahead, the handler pre-arranged the passport check at the terminal, and nothing needed explaining on the day.
THE LAKES · A DAY OUT OF THE CITY
A family day at Plitvice from a morning landing
Farnborough - Zagreb, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 05 min · 6 pax
They were choosing between Zagreb and Zadar. Zadar is nearer to the park on the map, but the party also wanted an evening in the capital, so we quoted Zagreb, booked a driver for the road through Karlovac at about two and a half hours each way, and kept Zadar as a priced alternative. The question that settled it was what the rest of the day was for.
THE ADRIATIC · A LONGER LOOP
A week of three stops, with Zagreb as the first
Farnborough - Split, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 20 min · 6 pax
The party wanted Zagreb for two nights and the coast for five. We kept one aircraft for the whole trip, moved on from Zagreb to Split by jet and returned from Dubrovnik, and the total came in below three separate charters. A single quote for all the legs is what made it work.
ADVENT · A DOG ON BOARD
Four adults and a spaniel for a December weekend
Southampton - Zagreb, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 10 min · 4 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment in Zagreb for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, the hotel took the dog, and the whole thing was settled in a single exchange of messages rather than three.
EMPTY LEG · SUNDAY EVENING WEST
A jet already going your way
Zagreb - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 2 h 05 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Sunday evening departure to the London fields.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Zagreb
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Zagreb?
About 2 hours 10 minutes from London City and Biggin Hill in a light jet, and around 2 hours 5 minutes from Luton in a Phenom, covering roughly 747 to 775 nautical miles. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about 2 hours 20 minutes, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 2 hours 35 minutes. Croatia is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands a little after ten local time.
2How much does a private jet to Zagreb cost?
From about £10,450 one way on a light jet out of London City or Biggin Hill, and £10,750 to £10,800 in a Phenom from Luton or Farnborough. A midsize cabin runs £13,550 to £14,400 from the south and Midlands, and from Scotland allow £20,400 to £20,950. Advent weekends and festival weeks can price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use, Zagreb, Graz, Ljubljana or Zadar?
Zagreb Franjo Tuđman (ZAG / LDZA) if the business is in Zagreb or central Croatia. It is about 10 km from the city, has a 3,252 m runway and a General Aviation Terminal with its own immigration and customs point. Ljubljana (LJU / LJLJ) and Graz (GRZ / LOWG) suit meetings in Slovenia or Styria, and on the same light jet from Biggin Hill they are priced about £900 and £750 lower. Zadar (ZAD / LDZD) is the airport for the Dalmatian coast and the national parks.
4Do I need a visa or customs clearance for Zagreb?
Britain is outside Schengen and Croatia is inside it, so you clear passport control and customs on arrival, at the separate point in the General Aviation Terminal. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old and valid for three months beyond departure. A British operator running a charter also needs an operating permit from the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency, which the operator files at least three working days ahead for one to four flights. We track the permit together with the aircraft paperwork.
5Can I arrive late at night or reach Plitvice and Samobor from the airport?
The airport and its customs and immigration are listed as available round the clock, but the General Aviation Terminal is open from 07:00 to 21:00, so a late arrival is handled through the passenger terminal unless the terminal is opened on request. By road, Samobor is about 24 km from the city, Varaždin about 80 km north on the A4, the Slovenian border at Bregana about 30 km west, and Plitvice just under 130 km, around two and a half hours. A helicopter covers Plitvice in about 39 minutes if the landing site is agreed first.
6Can I take my dog to Zagreb on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, and an EU country such as Croatia asks for a microchip fitted before or with the rabies vaccination, a vaccination given at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry. A British pet passport cannot be used. Croatia does not ask for a tapeworm treatment on the way in, but a dog needs one from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
