Private jet charter in Odessa
Odesa lies about 2,290 km from Biggin Hill in a straight line, roughly three hours of flying, and a British charter operator cannot put an aircraft on its runway while Ukrainian civil airspace is closed. Private Jets UK treats an Odesa enquiry as a feasibility question first and a price question second. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. What we can do for this destination is take you to the nearest gateway we can price, Chisinau in Moldova, which is about 184 km from Odesa by road, and the price on this page is for that flight. Below you will find what the published sources say about flying to Odesa itself, the six gateways in order of their distance from the city, the road times, and a short reference to the city for readers who are planning ahead. Odesa is also spelled Odessa, and listings under both spellings point to the same airport.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter to Odesa and its gateway airports depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Phenom 300E and two passengers aboard, flying to Chisinau, the nearest gateway airport to Odesa that we can price. A flight into Odesa itself is not included in this price, and neither is any road transfer. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
What a UK charter can and cannot do for Odesa
A flight to Odesa would need four layers to allow it: the airspace, the airport, the operator's legal position and the advice behind the passengers. Each of the four says no while civil airspace is closed, and each is published by an official source, which is why we can state the position plainly instead of hedging.
Airspace
Ukraine's own notice to airmen prohibits the use of the Odesa flight information region, together with the other Ukrainian flight information regions, for all aircraft except Ukrainian state aircraft or aircraft with General Staff permission, and states that air traffic services are not provided. The Foreign Office page for the country says its air space is closed.
The airport
Odesa International (ODS / UKOO) has an asphalt runway of 2,800 m and a terminal built for international and domestic flights, and its passenger flights are suspended. With the airspace closed there is no way for a charter to reach it, whatever the runway could take.
The operator
A UK Direction prohibits the UK-registered operators it is served on from entering the Ukrainian flight information regions, Odesa included, and EASA tells operators not to enter the airspace, landings and departures included. Operators outside that Direction are told to contact the Department for Transport first.
The passenger
The Foreign Office advises against all travel to every region of Ukraine except a western group, and Odesa is not in that group. It says the embassy cannot help in person and that it cannot arrange departure or evacuation. Its pages also warn that travel insurance can be invalidated by travelling against advice.
Our position
We do not sell a flight into Odesa, and we say so before you spend time on a quote. If civil airspace reopens and the restrictions above are lifted, the 2,800 m runway and the terminal mean Odesa can return to the list of airports we price. Until that happens the useful work is a flight to the nearest gateway, with the rest of the journey left to the traveller.
Six gateways, ranked by the road to Odesa
These are the airports outside Ukraine that a business jet can use for Odesa, in order of the distance by road to Odesa. The flight is from Biggin Hill in an Embraer Phenom 300E with two passengers, the same basis as the price at the top of the page. A light jet covers every one of them in 2 hours 50 minutes to 3 hours 10 minutes, so the real difference between them is the ground leg.

Reading the table
Britain is two hours behind all six gateways in winter and summer alike. Leave Biggin Hill at seven in the morning and the Phenom is on the ground in Chisinau at about noon local time, after 3 hours 5 minutes in the air. The road figures come from a journey planner and a coach timetable and leave out the border, where the Foreign Office warns of long queues. We treat the Odesa leg as a day of travel, not as a transfer.
What changes the real journey time
– The filed route. The flight times above follow the track the aircraft has to fly, which for Chisinau, Iasi and Suceava runs over Hungary and Romania, plus a 4 percent allowance. A different filed routing can add minutes, and the operator's flight planners give the final figure;
– The border. Moldova is outside both the EU and Schengen, Romania follows Schengen rules, and each crossing has its own queue. The Foreign Office warns of long queues at the crossing points with EU member states and Moldova;
– The hour of arrival. A late landing in Chisinau means a night in the city and a daylight drive, and we plan it that way from the start.

Prices for the private jet flights to Odesa
Typical flights from Britain to Chisinau, the gateway we price first, cheapest first. A price for Odesa itself is not published, because there is no flight to price. Any road transfer is arranged and paid for separately by the traveller.

We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Which gateway for which purpose
Chisinau is the default and the other five are exceptions with a reason. The prices below are for the same Phenom from Biggin Hill, so any difference is the airport and the distance, not the aircraft.
Chisinau, from £16,000
The closest by a wide margin: about 184 km to Odesa. Open round the clock with customs, a tower on duty and mandatory handling, and no slots required. Choose it for any plan that has to reach Odesa by road.
Iasi, from £15,350
About £650 less than Chisinau, and about 135 km further from Odesa. Iasi is in Romania, and the road typically passes through Moldova, so there are two border crossings. Slots are required. Choose it when the programme is in north-eastern Romania.
Suceava, from £14,700
The lowest price of the six, about £1,300 under Chisinau, and the airport is listed as not being an airport of entry, which matters on a flight that arrives from Britain. We confirm border handling before pricing it. A fit for a programme in northern Romania.
Constanta, from £16,400
A 3,500 m runway on a joint civil and military airfield, with an FBO called Euro Jet on the grounds and a listed ten-day prior permission for large aircraft. Coach itineraries to Odesa use the Isaccea - Orlivka crossing. Useful for a coastal itinerary.
Bucharest Baneasa, from £15,250
The capital's business aviation airfield, with a 3,100 m runway, customs and several handlers. Choose it when the trip is a Bucharest trip first and an Odesa trip second. The airline airport, Henri Coanda, is the alternative for a larger aircraft.
Varna, from £16,500
A Bulgarian Black Sea airport with a 2,517 m runway, customs, slots and mandatory handling. It has the longest road of the six, so it fits only a programme based on the Bulgarian coast.
If a quote names Odesa as the destination
– Treat it as a mistake or as a positioning flight. A real charter cannot land there while the airspace is closed, and a price that ignores this is a price for a flight that cannot depart;
– Ask for the operator's registration, the filed routing and the written confirmation of the insurer. A quote that cannot supply all three is not a quote;
– Ask what happens if the flight stops short. A reliable offer names the alternate airport, the crew hotel and the cancellation terms before anything is paid.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for a flight to the Moldovan and Romanian gateways:
Light jets, the price leader
A sector of about three hours is a long one for a light jet with a small party and ordinary luggage. The saving over a midsize aircraft is real, and the smaller cabin is the price of it.
Midsize, for a longer stay abroad
If the party carries luggage for a week or wants to hold a meeting in the air, the midsize cabin is worth the difference. A midsize aircraft positioned from elsewhere in Europe can also lower the quote.
Super-midsize and large
For a delegation or a group travelling as one party. Chisinau has a 3,590 m runway and Constanta 3,500 m, so none of these is limited by the field.
Turboprops
They suit short hops inside Romania, Moldova and Bulgaria once you are on the ground. For the sector from Britain a jet is the sensible choice, and a turboprop is not priced for it here.

This is a small part of what is available. Aircraft based in Central Europe may be closer to the gateways than the ones in Britain, so a quote may name one of those cities as the positioning point, which is normal and often where a better price comes from.

Airports for Odesa and its gateways
One airport serves Odesa, and it is closed to charters. The six others are the working gateways, and the facts below are the ones a broker checks before a price is given.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Odesa International ODS / UKOO |
About 7 km south-west of the city centre, at an elevation of 52 m. Runway 16/34 is 2,800 m of asphalt, and a 553 m grass strip lies across it. The terminal was built for international and domestic flights. Passenger flights are suspended and the airspace around it is closed, so it is not available to a charter |
| Chisinau RMO / LUKK, formerly KIV |
About 13 km south-east of the city centre, with runways of 3,590 m (08/26) and 2,383 m (09/27). Listed as open round the clock with the tower on duty, an airport of entry with customs, handling mandatory and no slots required. Euro Jet, FCG Ops and Evropa Jet Services are listed as handlers, and a VIP terminal receives VIP and CIP guests. Older charter listings use the code KIV |
| Iasi IAS / LRIA |
About 8 km east of the city, with one asphalt runway of 2,400 m by 45 m (14/32) and a Category I approach to runway 14. One directory lists it as an airport of entry with customs, while another does not mark it as one, so we ask the airport and the border police to confirm in writing that they will clear a private arrival. Handling is mandatory and slots are required |
| Suceava SCV / LRSV |
About 10 km east of the town, with an asphalt runway of about 2,460 m (16/34). Customs is listed, but the airport is not listed as an airport of entry. Handling is mandatory and slots are not required |
| Constanta - Mihail Kogalniceanu CND / LRCK |
About 26 km north-north-west of Constanta, with a 3,500 m concrete runway (18/36). A joint civil and military airfield, open round the clock, an airport of entry with customs. Euro Jet runs an FBO there, jet fuel only is listed, and large aircraft are listed as needing ten days of prior permission |
| Bucharest Baneasa BBU / LRBS |
About 8 to 9 km north of the centre, with a 3,100 m asphalt runway (07/25). Converted to a business airport, listed as an airport of entry with customs, handling not mandatory and slots not required. Euro Jet, FCG Ops and Evropa Jet Services are listed as handlers |
| Varna VAR / LBWN |
A Bulgarian airport about 10 km from the city centre, with an asphalt runway of 2,517 m (09/27). An airport of entry with customs, open round the clock, slots required and handling mandatory |
Four things to settle before a gateway landing:
Handling and slots
Mandatory handling is listed at Chisinau, Iasi, Suceava, Constanta and Varna, and slots at Iasi and Varna. We appoint the handler first and request the slot or the permission in writing. Only Baneasa lists handling as optional.
Customs and passport
Moldova is outside the EU and Schengen, and Romania follows Schengen rules. You clear the border at the gateway, and the Ukrainian formalities, if the traveller goes on, begin at the land crossing and are not part of the flight.
The road leg
The road onward is a separate arrangement and not a part of the charter. We give the distances on this page so the traveller can plan, and we do not give a crossing time as a promise.
The return
If the landing is late or the border is slow, the party stays the night at the gateway and drives in daylight. Crew hotel and aircraft parking are priced as separate lines, and the alternative is agreed before the booking is confirmed.

What the published sources say about a flight to Odesa
This is the evidence behind the short answer at the top of the page. Each row names its source, and we do not read more into a source than it says.
| Topic | What is published |
|---|---|
| Foreign Office advice FCDO, Ukraine |
The Foreign Office advises against all travel to every region of Ukraine except a western group, where it advises against all but essential travel. The western group is Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Lviv, plus parts of Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr. Odesa is not named in either list. |
| Air travel FCDO, Ukraine |
The Foreign Office states that Ukraine's air space is closed, and that it cannot confirm which transport services are operating. |
| Ukrainian airspace Ukraine, notice to airmen |
The use of the Ukrainian flight information regions, Odesa among them, and the Kyiv upper information region is prohibited for all aircraft except Ukrainian state aircraft or those with General Staff permission. Air traffic services are not provided. |
| EU safety bulletin EASA, conflict zone information |
The bulletin covers the Odesa flight information region among others, for all altitudes. It describes an active conflict zone and says operators should not operate there, including landings and departures at airports in that airspace. |
| UK operators UK aeronautical information publication |
UK-registered air operators served with a Direction under the Aviation Security Act are prohibited from entering the Odesa flight information region and the others listed. Operators not served with it are told to contact the Department for Transport before operating in the area. |
| Insurance Foreign Office and our practice |
The Foreign Office says travel insurance could be invalidated if you travel against its advice. Hull and liability policies for aircraft carry war-risk terms, so an operator needs the insurer's written confirmation for any territory near the conflict zone, and no quote of ours goes out without it. |
| Leaving the country FCDO, Ukraine |
The British Embassy in Kyiv is unable to help in person, and the Foreign Office cannot facilitate departure or evacuation. A traveller can leave by car through most border crossing points, and the Foreign Office warns of long queues at the crossings with EU member states and Moldova. |
Reading the sources together
No source in the table gives a route by which a civil charter could legally and insurably reach Odesa while the airspace is closed. We therefore do not offer one, including with an operator from outside the UK and the EU.
Odesa as a place: a reference for planning ahead
Readers ask about Odesa for several reasons: to understand a future trip, to plan a meeting with someone from the city, or out of plain interest. This section describes the city and nothing about conditions on the ground.
Potemkin Stairs
192 steps with ten landings, 27 m high and 142 m long, built as a formal entrance to the city from the sea. The top step is 12.5 m wide and the bottom step 21.7 m, a forced-perspective design that makes the staircase look longer than it is.
Opera and Ballet Theatre
Designed by the Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer, with a neo-baroque facade and a horseshoe auditorium known for acoustics that carry a whisper from the stage. It is the oldest theatre in Odesa.
Deribasovskaya Street
The main pedestrian street, named after Jose de Ribas, shaded by linden trees and lined with cafes.
Arcadia and the sea
A large sandy beach south of the city centre, long a favourite of residents and visitors. Odesa is also a major seaport on the north-western Black Sea coast.
The catacombs
A labyrinth under the city, more than 90 percent of it left by quarrying of coquina limestone, on three levels and as deep as 60 m below sea level. It has never been fully mapped. Only one small part, at the Museum of Partisan Glory in Nerubaiske, is open to visitors, and the other tunnels are unsafe.
Privoz Market
The largest food market in Odesa, at 14 Pryvozna Street, known for fish and seafood, dried fish, produce and spices. The Fruit Passage, a covered gallery with arched entrances designed by the city architect Fedir Nesturkh, is an architectural monument.
The cooking draws on Jewish, Greek, Italian and Ukrainian traditions, among others. The dishes that are named most often are forshmak, a herring-style spread, gefilte fish, an aubergine dip, fried gobies, the Biliaivka fish soup, mussel pilaf and cherry varenyky. The historic centre is a World Heritage Site, listed for its multicultural character and its nineteenth-century urban planning.
From the gateway to Odesa by road
The distances are the part of this page that does not depend on any decision of ours. The times are the estimates a journey planner or a coach operator gives, and they leave out the border.
about 184 km. A scheduled coach between Chisinau airport and Odesa has been quoted at about four hours, with checks of up to 40 minutes at the border, and journey planners list 3 h 40 min to 6 habout 4 hours
about 320 km, a longer road with a second border behind the firstabout 5.5 hours of driving
about 455 kmabout 8 hours of driving
about 485 km, by way of the Isaccea - Orlivka crossing named in coach itinerariesabout 7 hours of driving
about 515 kmabout 7.5 hours of driving
about 615 km, through Bulgaria and Romaniaabout 9.5 hours of driving
Before you plan around the road
– The Moldovan road crossings are the ones to understand. The Foreign Office tells travellers entering Moldova overland to use an internationally recognised crossing point in the north or south, not one in Transnistria, and it says all Ukraine - Transnistria crossings are temporarily closed;
– The Foreign Office advises against all travel to Transnistria and warns that its support is more limited if there is military action on or near the Moldova - Ukraine border;
– We do not book a transfer into Ukraine. The traveller decides on the road leg with the Foreign Office advice in front of them.
Documents for the gateway countries
The rules below apply to the airport of arrival, not to Ukraine. They are published by the Foreign Office and apply to each traveller whatever the aircraft.

- Moldova (Chisinau): British visitors need no visa for tourism or business for up to 90 days in a six-month period, and must be able to show a return or onward ticket. The passport must be valid for at least three months after the planned departure and have at least one blank page;
- Moldova: the Foreign Office advises against all travel to Transnistria, and a cash sum equivalent to about £8,500 or more must be declared on entry;
- Romania (Iasi, Suceava, Constanta, Bucharest): visa-free travel in the Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport less than ten years old on arrival and valid for at least three months after departure from the Schengen area;
- Entry to Ukraine is outside what we arrange, and the Foreign Office advises against all travel to most of the country.
Flying to the gateways with a dog or a cat
For a pet the paperwork needs the planning, and the flight is the easy part: the animal sits in the cabin beside you, never in a hold. The date on the health certificate is the detail that goes wrong, because it is valid for only ten days for entry to the EU.

For Romania, as an EU country, the entry conditions for a pet from Britain are these:
- An ISO microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination or at the same time;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed after the first vaccination before the animal travels;
- An Animal Health Certificate for each trip, valid for ten days for entry to the EU. A British pet passport cannot be used to enter the EU;
- No more than five animals per traveller, entering through a travellers' point of entry;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival back in Britain, recorded on the paperwork. Cats are exempt.
A pet and the Moldovan or Ukrainian border
Moldova is outside the EU and sets its own conditions for animals arriving from Britain, and Ukraine does the same. We have not verified either set, so if a pet is part of the plan we confirm the conditions in writing before booking. The return to Britain also depends on the country the animal travels from: the rules for countries that are not on the list of listed countries for Britain are stricter and include a blood test, so the return route is checked as carefully as the outward one.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. For the entry point and the paperwork on the way home, we confirm both in writing before the flight.
Ways to keep the price down
- Use Chisinau unless the programme says otherwise. Iasi is priced about £650 lower and Suceava about £1,300 lower on the same aircraft, but the road to Odesa is longer and has another border, so the saving is rarely real;
- Choose the departure field with care. From Biggin Hill the price is £16,000, from Luton £16,250 and from Manchester £17,300, all with the same Phenom, so the choice of field alone moves the price by about £1,300 between Biggin Hill and Manchester;
- Combine the legs. If the programme includes Bucharest or Budapest, one aircraft that stays with you costs less than two separate charters;
- Fix the dates early. A gateway with required slots, such as Iasi or Varna, is easier to arrange a week ahead than a day ahead.
Types of flights
Enquiries that mention Odesa arrive in several shapes, and most end up as one of these:
- Business trips to Chisinau and Romanian gateways, with the border and the dates checked first;
- Meetings moved to the gateway city, so that nobody has to cross a second border;
- Delegations and groups travelling to a gateway airport;
- Short-notice requests, which start with a check of what is possible and only then with a price;
- Medical and cargo requests, handled one at a time and confirmed only after the operator, its regulator and its insurer have answered.
A day return does not work well on this corridor. Wheels up at Biggin Hill at seven puts the Phenom on the ground in Chisinau at about noon local time, and the flight home takes the same 3 hours 5 minutes, so a same-day turn is realistic only for a meeting held at the airport. We quote an overnight stay as the base case.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. We do not list empty legs into Odesa, because no charter can be sold there. Legs between Britain and Chisinau or the Romanian airports do appear, when an aircraft that has taken a party out flies home unoccupied.
Such legs follow someone else's booking. A traveller with a window of several days is much likelier to find one than a traveller tied to a single evening, and the operator, not the passenger, decides the date and the hour. If the first booking changes, the leg can disappear. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page.

Odesa enquiries from the booking notes: six typical cases
What the corridor looks like once an enquiry turns into a plan. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
ODESA ASKED FOR · CHISINAU OFFERED
From the request to a workable plan
Biggin Hill - Chisinau, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 05 min · 4 pax
The request was a flight to Odesa, with a price wanted the same day. We set out the airspace and the operator position, declined to quote the flight, and priced Chisinau with a car for the rest. The client came back the next morning and took the Chisinau option.
A DIFFERENT VENUE · CHISINAU
A partner who agreed to travel less
Farnborough - Chisinau, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 10 min · 3 pax
Once the options were on the table, the partner agreed to come to Chisinau. For the British side it became a single night in a capital city and a flight home, with no land border to cross.
NEIGHBOURING GATEWAY · IASI
The cheaper airport that was not
London Luton - Iasi, Phenom 300E, about 3 h · 5 pax
Iasi was cheaper on paper. Then the road was added up: more kilometres, and a second border to cross. The saving no longer covered it, and the party went through Chisinau.
PAPERWORK · A CALL BEFORE BOOKING
A traveller asks about passports
Advice call, no flight booked yet
The caller needed passport validity and the visa-free period for Moldova. We read out the published rules and referred to the Foreign Office advice for Ukraine. By the end of the call the meeting had been moved to the gateway city.
A DOG ON BOARD · ROMANIA
Two adults and a spaniel for a Bucharest weekend
Southampton - Bucharest Baneasa, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 05 min · 2 pax + dog
The Animal Health Certificate had to be dated inside ten days of arrival, and the vet appointment for the tapeworm treatment had to fall between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home. We booked both with the aircraft, and the trip stayed on the EU side.
EMPTY LEG · ROMANIA TO BRITAIN
A jet already going your way
Bucharest Baneasa - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 3 h · 3 pax
A Phenom that had taken a party to Bucharest for the weekend was returning empty on the Monday. The passengers could leave on any of three days, and the seats cost far less than a fresh one-way charter would have.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Odesa
1Can a private jet fly directly from London to Odesa?
No. Ukraine's notice to airmen prohibits the Odesa flight information region for all aircraft except Ukrainian state aircraft or those with General Staff permission, and the Foreign Office states that the country's air space is closed. UK-registered operators served with a Direction are prohibited from entering it. We do not sell a flight into Odesa, and we price the nearest operating airport instead.
2What is the nearest airport to Odesa that you can price, and what does it cost?
Chisinau (RMO / LUKK, formerly KIV) in Moldova is the nearest gateway we price, about 184 km from Odesa by road. A light jet takes about 3 hours 5 minutes from Biggin Hill, covering roughly 1,228 nautical miles, and the price is from £16,000 one way. A Phenom from Luton costs £16,250, and from Scotland allow £18,350 to £18,750 in the same aircraft. The road transfer is not part of the charter.
3How long is the road from the gateway airport to Odesa?
From Chisinau it is about 184 km, and a scheduled coach has been quoted at about four hours with border checks of up to 40 minutes. From Iasi it is about 320 km, from Constanta about 485 km and from Bucharest about 515 km, which is roughly 5.5 to 7.5 hours of driving without the border. Journey planners and coach timetables give the figures, so we treat them as estimates and not as promises.
4What does the Foreign Office say about travel to Odesa?
The Foreign Office advises against all travel to every region of Ukraine except a western group, where it advises against all but essential travel, and Odesa is not in that group. It says the British Embassy in Kyiv cannot help in person and the Foreign Office cannot arrange departure or evacuation. Its pages also warn that travel insurance could be invalidated by travelling against its advice.
5When will Odesa airport be available for private jets?
We do not know, and none of the sources we rely on gives a date. The airport has a 2,800 m runway and a terminal, so it can return to the list of airports we price once civil airspace is reopened and the UK and EU restrictions are lifted. Until then we offer the gateways and answer each request on its facts.
6Can I take my dog to Chisinau or Romania on a private jet?
The dog can fly in the cabin to Romania with a microchip, a rabies vaccination at 12 weeks or older and at least 21 days old, and an Animal Health Certificate valid for ten days for entry to the EU. Moldova sets its own conditions, which we confirm in writing before booking. A dog also needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arriving back in Britain.
