Private jet charter in Tivat
A light jet leaving a London airfield reaches the Bay of Kotor in under three hours, and the flight turns out to be the easy part: Tivat is a small airport squeezed between the water and the mountains, it works in daylight, it sits in a country that belongs to neither the EU nor Schengen, and in summer its apron belongs to the yachting crowd. Private Jets UK builds the charter around those facts, from the handling request and the parking to the cabin size and the car, boat or helicopter waiting at the far end. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Tivat is the only international airport on the Montenegrin coast, so the real decisions are the date, the hour of day and how the last twenty kilometres are covered.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Tivat depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Cessna Citation CJ3+ and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Tivat?
Two hours fifty from Biggin Hill in a Citation CJ3+, three hours twenty from Glasgow in a Challenger, and one hour to add on the clock, because Montenegro keeps Central European time and Britain does not. At 969 to 1,255 nautical miles this is the long end of short-haul. A light jet can do it, but nobody would call it a hop, and from the north of England and Scotland a larger cabin starts to earn its price. The table gives the sector from each British field we use.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Take off from a London airfield at seven in the morning and you are on the ground at Tivat shortly before eleven local time. The runway lies about 3 km south of Tivat town and 7 km from the old centre of Kotor, a drive of roughly nine minutes with no border and no motorway to think about. A client who left a London office at six can therefore be at a Kotor hotel before lunch, and the whole journey from central London comes to somewhere between four and a half and five hours.
Light jet or midsize: the question that actually comes up on this route
– Up to four people with ordinary bags, a light jet is the sensible answer and the saving is real. Be honest about the hours in the seat, though: close to three hours in a CJ3+ is more than most clients expect, and the Phenom 300E has the roomier cabin for it;
– Summer luggage is what decides. Beach kit, golf bags, diving equipment, a pushchair and a dog fill a light-jet hold long before the seats are full, so we quote a midsize cabin beside it from Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and the north;
– Heavy aircraft are for a yacht owner's party arriving as one group, or for trips that carry on to the Gulf. The 2,500 m runway is no obstacle to them; finding a place to park them in July is the harder part, and we ask about it before the quote goes out.

Dubrovnik is 23 nautical miles away, and that is the problem
On paper Tivat to Dubrovnik is the shortest private jet flight on the page, a matter of fifteen minutes in the air. In practice it is a minimum-charge sector, so the price is the same as for a much longer turboprop leg, and for most parties the realistic choices are a helicopter or a car. By road the distance is about 59 km, but the Croatian frontier at Debeli Brijeg sits in the middle of it: a local transfer company puts the drive at around an hour and a half before the border, which alone is worth 40 minutes and more in August. The sectors that do justify an aeroplane are the longer ones. Split is an hour in a PC-12, and Mostar, whose airport has a 2,400 m runway, is about three quarters of an hour.
Before you accept an onward quote
– The border at both ends. Croatia, Austria and Greece are in Schengen and Montenegro is not, so a leg to any of them ends in a Schengen arrival and every return means Montenegrin passport control again. Turkey, Serbia and Bosnia have their own rules. The handler organises each end, but the quote should say so;
– The hour of day. Tivat has traditionally been a daylight airport, so an afternoon or evening departure on the last leg of a multi-stop trip is a quote that will change. If the programme runs late, the aircraft leaves from Podgorica or Dubrovnik instead and the party takes a car;
– Whether the itinerary is one booking. Tivat to Dubrovnik to Split over three days costs noticeably less arranged as a single trip, because the aircraft and crew stay with you instead of repositioning to the coast between each stop.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Tivat:
Light jets, and where most bookings land
Three hours is a long time in a small cabin, so the choice inside this class is about headroom and baggage and not about speed. Villa holidays pack more than city breaks do.
Midsize, for families and the north of England
From the Midlands and the north the Citation XLS+ and the Latitude are the usual quotes. Their hold swallows a week of beach luggage, and the standing headroom helps on a three-hour leg.
Super-midsize and large
For a yacht owner's guests travelling as one party, for a team that works in the air, and for itineraries that continue from the Adriatic to Istanbul or the Gulf. Parking at Tivat is agreed first.
Turboprops
The right aircraft for the hops along the coast to Dubrovnik, Mostar and Split. The saving over a jet on a leg this short is large, and Tivat's runway takes a PC-12 without fuss.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: the bay, the coast to Budva and the mountains of the north. The landing site, whether a marina, a hotel lawn or a villa, is agreed before the quote is issued.

This is a small part of what is available. For a summer booking the aircraft is often not in Britain at all but in Dubrovnik, Split, Belgrade or Istanbul, and that is where the better price tends to come from. Because parking at Tivat is the scarce resource, we sometimes bring a jet in for the drop-off and send it to wait at Podgorica or Dubrovnik until the party is ready to fly home. We look at the whole map before a price is sent.

Business aviation airports in Montenegro
One airport carries the coast, and the others matter when Tivat is closed, full or the wrong side of a frontier. It helps to know what each is before a quote arrives with its name in it.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Tivat TIV / LYTV |
The answer for almost every trip to the coast. The airport lies on the Bay of Kotor, about 3 km south of Tivat town, 7 km from Kotor and some 20 km from Budva. It has one asphalt runway, 14/32, 2,500 m long and 45 m wide, and the threshold of runway 14 stands close to the shoreline. The approach to runway 32 means a descent over the Tivat plain and a turn of about 20 degrees just before landing, which has earned the airport a comparison with the old Kai Tak in Hong Kong, and handling databases list VOR/DME and NDB approaches but no ILS. Crews need to be briefed for it. The airport is run by Airports of Montenegro, which provides general aviation handling itself, with a VIP terminal, lounge, meeting room and VIP parking in front of the terminal, and passport and customs control on site |
| Podgorica TGD / LYPG |
The inland airport and the usual alternate for Tivat, about 75 km and an hour and a half by road from Kotor, entirely inside Montenegro, with no border to cross. A single runway, 18/36, 2,500 m by 45 m, with an ILS on runway 36 only, shared with a military air base. Handlers describe it as the better choice for larger aircraft and for night operations. The same operator runs a VIP terminal with fast-track controls, and requests go to its operations centre about 36 hours ahead. Worth using when Tivat is closed, full or in bad weather, or when a party lands late |
| Dubrovnik DBV / LDDU |
In Croatia, at Čilipi, with a 3,230 m runway, an ILS on runway 11 and a general aviation terminal on the eastern side. By road to Kotor it is about 59 km and an hour and a half before the frontier at Debeli Brijeg, which adds 40 minutes or more in high summer. Croatia is in Schengen and Montenegro is not, so the road trip brings a passport check at each end. Some operators use Dubrovnik in the season simply because it has more parking, so it is a real option for an aircraft that has to wait |
| Kotor, Budva, Herceg Novi and the Porto Montenegro heliport no airfield |
None of these towns has an airport, which is why the question is always how the last stretch is covered. Kotor and Budva are short drives from Tivat. Herceg Novi lies across the bay and is reached by road around it or by the Kamenari-Lepetane car ferry. A private heliport at the Porto Montenegro marina has been reported to handle flights within Montenegro |
Four points settle most Tivat arrivals:
Choose the handler
Airports of Montenegro handles general aviation itself: it guides and parks the aircraft, takes the baggage to the terminal and walks passengers through passport and customs. Independent agents are also listed at Tivat, among them Euro Jet with its lounge, Evropa Jet Services and FCG OPS, and handling is reported as mandatory. Jet A-1 comes from Jugopetrol and catering from a local supplier. We book the agent together with the parking.
Hours, slots and daylight
Tivat is a daylight airport that has traditionally taken no night arrivals, and the operator has said it would like to stay open into the evening, so we treat sunset as the limit unless the operations centre confirms otherwise in writing. In winter that means about nine hours of usable day. A request goes to the operations centre ideally 36 hours ahead, with the aircraft type, registration, weight and times, and the crew and passenger list follows separately. Listings differ on whether a formal slot applies, but in summer the limit is often the apron.
Border and passport
Montenegro is outside the EU and outside Schengen, and so is Britain, so you clear Montenegrin passport control and customs on arrival. British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued within the last ten years and valid for three months beyond departure. Visits to Montenegro do not count towards Schengen days. Hotels register guests with the police within 24 hours; in a private villa you do it yourself.
Car, boat and the apron
Private vehicles are not allowed on the apron, so a transfer takes passengers between the aircraft and the VIP terminal, and the car waits in front of it. Give us the terminal and not just the airport, and tell us whether the day ends at a hotel, a villa or a berth at Porto Montenegro, because the driver and the tender are different calls. For a late programme the car and the crew go into the quote from the start.

Arrival formalities in Montenegro
Montenegro stamps British passports on entry and exit, and the Foreign Office advice is to check that the stamp has been given; at the VIP terminal the handler walks you through the check, so it is rarely forgotten, but it is worth looking for the stamp before the car moves off. Cash or travellers' cheques worth about £8,500 or more must be declared on arrival, and the certified declaration kept for the way out, because without it the money can be seized when you leave. The aircraft has its own paperwork. Commercial charter operators from abroad apply to the Civil Aviation Agency of Montenegro for approval, with the air operator certificate, insurance, registration, airworthiness and noise certificates and the charter contract, and the agency does not publish a lead time on its page, so we file as early as the operator allows and build the permit into the timetable. On the way home the UK side is a General Aviation Report filed by the operator between 48 and 2 hours before departure, and any passenger who is not British or Irish and needs no visa for the UK needs an Electronic Travel Authorisation.

From the apron to the Bay of Kotor
Tivat sits in the middle of the bay, between Kotor at the head of the fjord-like inlet and Budva on the open coast. Almost everything a visitor wants is within half an hour of the apron, and the distances that matter run outward, to Perast, to the Skadar lowlands and to the mountains of the north. Cruise ships dock in Kotor most summer days, so the Old Town is at its best early or late.

Flying to Tivat with a dog or a cat
Montenegro is outside the EU, and from the British side it is also one of the countries Great Britain treats as not listed. That second fact shapes the journey home far more than the journey out, and it is the reason a trip with an animal has to be planned months ahead. The animal sits beside you in the cabin and no hold is involved.

What Montenegro asks for, according to Defra's export health certificate for cats and dogs and the Foreign Office entry advice:
- An identification microchip, checked by the vet before the rabies vaccination is given;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, with 21 days elapsed since the first one, and every booster inside the validity period of the previous dose;
- A rabies antibody blood test where the country the animal comes from is not on the EU list: a sample taken at least 30 days after the vaccination, a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml, and a wait of three months. We check with the vet whether it applies to your animal;
- The Defra export health certificate for Montenegro, signed by an Official Veterinarian, with the vaccination certificates attached. Defra's guidance says no import permit is needed for cats and dogs;
- No more than five animals per traveller;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before the flight back to Britain, recorded with product, date and time. Cats are exempt.
What catches owners out on the Tivat run
– The way home is the stricter half. Montenegro appears on neither of Great Britain's lists of approved countries, so the rules for an unlisted country apply to the return: a Great Britain pet health certificate issued within ten days of arrival, a rabies blood test taken at least 30 days after the vaccination, a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml from an EU-approved laboratory and a three-month wait. There is an exception for an animal that was vaccinated, tested and documented before it left, and we confirm in writing whether it applies;
– Have the blood test done at home. The sample goes to an EU-approved laboratory, and a result that arrives in the middle of a holiday does nothing for the date of the flight back. A vaccination, thirty days, the sample and three months add up to about four months, so a trip with an animal that has no test yet is a project and not a booking;
– The tapeworm treatment has to be given inside the 24 to 120 hour window before the return flight, and Tivat departs by day. We book the vet in Tivat or Kotor together with the aircraft, so that the time of treatment and the time of take-off are agreed in a single message.
Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide. Our managers confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight, and check the timetable of the blood test before a booking is taken.
The Tivat calendar: yachts in summer, carnivals in winter
The bay lives by the weather. Summer is hot, with afternoon highs averaging about 31 degrees and peaks near 34 in mid-July, and from June to August the cruise ships, the marina and the beaches are full together. Winter is mild but dark early: highs around 13 degrees, a few degrees above freezing at night, about nine hours of daylight and many bay boat operators closed. Spring and early autumn are quieter and cheaper. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a summer week costs more
Not the flying. The European light and midsize fleet is large and the Adriatic is well placed in it. What gets tight in July and August is parking on the apron, handling slots, hotel rooms and good drivers, all in the same days, and the daylight window concentrates arrivals and departures into the same hours. A booking made a fortnight before Boka Night can still be done, but it pays more and may mean an aircraft positioned from Dubrovnik or Belgrade. The same booking made five or six weeks ahead is simpler and cheaper. Outside the season Tivat is easy to fly into, and a charter can usually be arranged in a day or two.
Ways to bring the Tivat price down
- Move the dates a few days where you can. The week after Boka Night is calmer, and so is the whole of September, when the sea is still warm;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A jet already in Dubrovnik, Split or Belgrade needs less positioning than one from Britain, and on a sector of nearly three hours positioning is a large part of the bill;
- Think about the way home. Landing at Tivat and leaving from Podgorica or Dubrovnik, or the reverse, can avoid a long wait for an aircraft on the apron;
- Take the light jet unless the luggage says otherwise, and consider a Phenom over a CJ3+ for the legroom, since both carry four people comfortably.
Types of flights
Tivat produces a different mix from the city destinations we cover, because it is a marina, a resort coast and a base for exploring the western Balkans in the same breath.
- Yacht owners and their guests, flying in to meet a vessel in Porto Montenegro, a marina with more than 500 berths that takes yachts up to 250 m and sells tax-free fuel;
- Summer holidays in villas and resorts on the bay, at Luštica and along the coast to Budva, usually with children, dogs and a lot of luggage;
- Regatta, festival and event weekends, tied to the dates in the calendar above;
- Coastal loops that join Tivat to Dubrovnik and Split, or the Bay of Kotor to Mostar, usually arranged as one booking with a turboprop for the short legs;
- Mountain and lake excursions to Durmitor and Skadar, where the aircraft lands at Tivat and a helicopter or car does the rest;
- Shoulder-season trips in May, June, September and October, when the weather is warm, the sea is swimmable and the apron is far emptier.
The weekend run is worth a closer look. A same-weekend return means the aircraft and crew wait for you rather than going home, and that waiting is paid for, but it still comes out cheaper than two separate one-way charters. Because Tivat works in daylight, we usually plan the return for the early afternoon, and on this route we quote the wait both ways so the difference is visible.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On the Tivat route they come from the rhythm of the season, and it helps to know what produces them.
Where Tivat empty legs come from
– The summer weekend change. Aircraft bring parties in on a Friday or Saturday and leave empty, because the apron has no room to let them wait, which produces outbound legs at the start of the week;
– The yachting season. Through July and August operators reposition between Tivat, Dubrovnik and Split, and the short Adriatic legs are the ones most often offered;
– Event weekends. Boka Night and the regatta dates bring a surge of arrivals, followed by a wave of empty departures a day or two later.
Because the Tivat corridor is thinner than the busiest London routes, a client who can name a few days rather than one has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Tivat match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter and boat transfers
On the Bay of Kotor the road is slow and the water is quick. A helicopter is a tool for the edges of a trip, for the coast, the northern mountains and the hop to Dubrovnik, and a boat is often the better way to cover the last few kilometres into a waterside village such as Perast.
23 nautical miles, reported as the most popular international helicopter route, against a drive of an hour and a half plus a frontierabout 15 minutes
the island village on a causeway about 6 km south-east of Budva, where the landing site and access to the island are agreed firstabout 10 minutes
the mountain park around Žabljak and the Tara canyon, against two and a half hours by roadabout 30 minutes
Kotor, Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks and the Verige straitabout 25 minutes
by air to the lake and its waterside villagesabout 20 minutes
Before you plan around a helicopter or a boat
– A helicopter cannot land wherever it likes. A local report describes a private heliport at the Porto Montenegro marina for flights inside Montenegro, and international flights need passport and customs control at Tivat or Podgorica. For a hotel lawn, a villa or a mountain site, we ask the operator and the Montenegrin authorities and do not assume that a site used before is cleared;
– Mountain weather sets the schedule. Cloud over Durmitor can stop a helicopter on a day when the jet lands without trouble, so a northern excursion has a road alternative planned into the same day;
– Boats are a daylight and sea-state decision. In July the bay is busy with cruise tenders, ferries and charter yachts, so a transfer to Perast or to a berth at Porto Montenegro is booked with the skipper, the pick-up point and the time agreed before the aircraft lands. The Kamenari-Lepetane car ferry is the shortcut for a driver heading to Herceg Novi.
The machines on this ground are the Airbus H125 for the mountains, the wider H130 for scenic and villa transfers, the H135 and the Bell 429 where a twin is wanted, and larger types for bigger parties. We book them alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable, and the boat is organised in the same exchange.

Tivat charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
YACHT GUESTS · PARKING FIRST
Four friends for a week on a yacht at Porto Montenegro
Farnborough - Tivat, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 45 min · 4 pax
They wanted a Saturday arrival in the second half of August. The handling request and the apron place were secured before the price was agreed, because that is what runs out first. The aircraft dropped the party at Tivat, flew on empty to Podgorica to wait and came back for the Friday return. The tender was waiting at the quay.
DAYLIGHT · THE EVENING THAT MOVED
A Sunday departure that could not wait for dusk
Birmingham - Tivat, Citation XLS+, about 3 h · 6 pax
A family week ended with a dinner on the last night and a wish to fly home after it. We explained that Tivat works in daylight and moved the departure to early afternoon, which meant a lunch on the bay in place of dinner. The client agreed, and the aircraft was back in Birmingham for the evening.
THE BAY IN TWO COUNTRIES · ONE BOOKING
A coastal loop from Tivat to Dubrovnik and Split
London Luton - Tivat, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 45 min · 5 pax
Landed at Tivat, spent three days around Kotor and Perast, then took a PC-12 to Dubrovnik and on to Split. Booked as one trip, the Phenom waited at Tivat and a turboprop took over for the short legs. The Croatian arrivals were pre-arranged with the handler, and the Montenegrin exit stamp was checked at the aircraft.
THE WEDDING WEEKEND · FIXED DATES
A party of eleven for a celebration above the bay
Southampton - Tivat, Citation XLS+ with a second aircraft, about 2 h 50 min · 8 + 3 pax
The dates belonged to the wedding and not to the client, so the booking went in seven weeks ahead and the handling request carried both aircraft. Cars and a boat to Perast for the day itself were arranged in the same exchange, and nothing had to be re-planned on the Friday.
A DOG ON BOARD · FOUR MONTHS' NOTICE
Four adults and a retriever for a fortnight at a villa
Bristol - Tivat, Citation XLS+, about 3 h · 4 pax + dog
The booking took a day. The preparation took four months, because Great Britain treats Montenegro as an unlisted country and the rabies blood test had to be taken before the party left. The tapeworm treatment in Kotor was booked inside the 24 to 120 hour window and fitted around an early afternoon departure.
EMPTY LEG · MONDAY MORNING NORTH
A jet already going your way
Tivat - London City, Citation CJ3+ empty leg, about 2 h 55 min · 3 pax
The aircraft had brought a party in for the weekend and was going home empty. The client gave us a three-day window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid well below a fresh one-way charter for a Monday departure at the start of the daylight window.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Tivat
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Tivat?
About 2 hours 50 minutes from Biggin Hill in a Citation CJ3+, around 2 hours 45 minutes from Luton or Farnborough in a Phenom, covering roughly 970 to 1,000 nautical miles. From Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol allow about 3 hours, and from Edinburgh or Glasgow around 3 hours 15 to 3 hours 20. Montenegro is one hour ahead of Britain, so a seven o'clock departure lands shortly before eleven local time.
2How much does a private jet to Tivat cost?
From about £13,000 one way on a light jet out of Biggin Hill, and £13,050 from London City or £13,350 from Luton. A midsize cabin runs £16,700 to £17,550 from the south and Midlands, and from Scotland allow £24,600 to £25,100. The peak weeks of July and August and the Boka Night weekend price above these figures.
3Which airport should a private jet use for the Bay of Kotor?
Tivat (TIV / LYTV) for almost every trip. It is 7 km from Kotor, has a 2,500 m runway and a VIP terminal, with passport and customs control on site, but it has traditionally worked in daylight only and its apron is crowded in summer. Podgorica (TGD / LYPG), about 75 km and an hour and a half by road, is the alternative for larger aircraft, late arrivals and bad weather. Dubrovnik (DBV / LDDU) is 59 km away across the Croatian frontier and is used when Tivat has no parking.
4Do I need a visa or a permit to fly privately to Montenegro?
British passport holders need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180, with a passport issued within the last ten years and valid for three months beyond departure. Montenegro is outside the EU and Schengen, so passport control and customs apply on arrival. The airport asks for a handling request to its operations centre ideally 36 hours ahead and, for a foreign commercial charter operator, approval from the Montenegrin Civil Aviation Agency; we confirm in writing what applies to your flight.
5Can I fly on from Tivat to Kotor, Budva, Sveti Stefan or the mountains?
Yes. Kotor is about nine minutes by car and Perast about half an hour, Budva is 25 to 35 minutes, and the Kamenari-Lepetane ferry shortens the way to Herceg Novi. A helicopter reaches Dubrovnik in about 15 minutes and Durmitor National Park in about 30 minutes, against two and a half hours by road. Boats cover the bay villages, and a turboprop is the aircraft for Split and Mostar.
6Can I take my dog to Tivat on a private jet?
Yes. The dog travels in the cabin with you, but Montenegro is outside the EU and not on Great Britain's lists of approved countries, so the return usually needs a rabies blood test taken at least 30 days after the vaccination and a three-month wait, plus a Great Britain pet health certificate issued within ten days of arrival. A dog also needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing in Britain. Cats are exempt from the treatment.
