Private jet charter in Armenia
From London, Yerevan lies a little over 2,000 nautical miles to the south-east, and that one number shapes the whole booking. No light jet flies it in a single leg, a super-midsize cabin does it in about five hours, and the usual routing crosses Turkey and Georgia before the descent into the Ararat plain. Private Jets UK builds an Armenian charter around those facts: the aircraft class, the fuel stop where one is needed, the landing permit that is filed 72 hours ahead and the VIP lounge through which private flights are processed at Zvartnots. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. In Armenia that also means the road after landing, because the country is small and mountainous: a ski slope, a lake or a monastery on a cliff is often an hour or two from the runway, and the quickest way there is not always the car.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Armenia depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Phenom 300E with a fuel stop in Istanbul to Yerevan and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Armenia?
Armenia keeps the same time all year, four hours ahead of Britain in winter and three in British summer, so the clock on arrival reads later than the flight alone suggests. These are the sectors to Yerevan from British airfields, gate to gate, with the stop included where a light jet needs one:
two legs through Istanbul, about 2,120 nautical miles in all with roughly an hour on the groundabout 6 h 35 min
nonstop, about 2,020 nautical miles with the routing allowanceabout 5 h
nonstop, 2,114 nautical milesabout 5 h 10 min
nonstop, 2,205 nautical miles, the longest of the regular British departuresabout 5 h 25 min
about 10 km west of the city by the aerodrome publication, 25 minutes by car on a normal dayabout 25 min
The clock on the wall at Zvartnots
Take off from Biggin Hill at seven in the morning in a Praetor 600 and you touch down around four in the afternoon on the Armenian clock in winter, around three in British summer. The same departure in a Phenom 300E with the stop in Istanbul lands around half past five in the winter evening, which makes the first night a rest and not a meeting.
A same-day return is not a plan. The flying alone comes to ten hours or more, and the permit, the lounge and the crew duty limits all push the other way. Two nights is the shortest trip that makes sense.
Range check: what flies nonstop and what stops
– Light jets stop. The Phenom 300E and the Learjet 75 have a published range of about 2,000 nautical miles, while Biggin Hill is already about 2,020 nautical miles from Yerevan with the routing allowance, and the planned track over Turkey and Georgia is longer than the straight line. The usual split is Istanbul, with a first leg of about 1,376 nautical miles and a second of about 744 nautical miles;
– The super-midsize class flies it in one leg. The Praetor 600 lists a range near 4,000 nautical miles and the Challenger 350 near 3,200, so both leave a margin for headwinds, alternates and a full cabin;
– The stop is a price decision, not a safety one. A Praetor 600 nonstop from Biggin Hill is about £6,600 dearer than the Phenom with a stop, and it saves about 1 hour 35 minutes. For one or two people with time to spare the light jet is the economical way in; for four or more the larger cabin is usually the better value.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Prices for the private jet flights to Armenia
Typical private jet prices from Britain to Yerevan, cheapest first. Every row lands at Zvartnots, and the light-jet rows include the fuel stop in Istanbul. The table climbs with the distance and with the size of the cabin, and it shows why the departure airfield matters less here than the aircraft class:

Two things worth knowing about these figures
– The step between classes is bigger than the step between airfields. Moving the departure from Biggin Hill to Luton adds £300 on the same Phenom, while moving from the Phenom to a Praetor 600 adds about £6,600 and removes the stop. A quote that looks cheap is usually the light jet with the stop, so ask which one it is;
– The Armenian end adds lines of its own. Every private flight is processed through the VIP lounge at Zvartnots, which charges per passenger: 70,000 dram on arrival with the microbus, about £140 at the rate we use, and between 40,000 and 70,000 dram on departure depending on the service. For six passengers the arrival alone comes to about £840 before handling and airport charges.
Private jet flights within Armenia and to its neighbours
Armenia is small enough that nobody flies a jet between two of its towns for the pleasure of it. The sectors we are asked for are a hop to the second airport in the north, the short crossings into Georgia and the longer trips that use Yerevan as a base for the Black Sea, the Mediterranean or the Gulf:
| Route | Aircraft | Flight time | Price, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yerevan - Gyumri 45 nm / 83 km |
Pilatus PC-12 NGX up to 8 passengers |
about 40 min | from £3,100 |

| Yerevan - Dubai 1,092 nm / 2,022 km |
Challenger 350 up to 8 passengers |
about 2 h 55 min | from £22,200 |
Two things worth knowing about these sectors
– Flights inside Armenia are a separate permission. The aviation rules list single non-scheduled flights to, from or within the country under one application, so a leg such as Yerevan to Gyumri is filed as its own movement, and we name the operator who flies it when we quote. Gyumri is 120 km by road and about 40 minutes in a turboprop, which is why the PC-12 is the sensible aircraft;
– The neighbours are a matter of borders as much as miles. Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi in Georgia sit a short flight away, but the Foreign Office advises against all travel within 5 km of Armenia's eastern border with Azerbaijan, which remains closed, so itineraries are drawn away from that area. Istanbul, Larnaca, Athens and Dubai are the longer sectors that clients combine with Armenia, and each has its own entry rules for the passengers, which we confirm before the offer.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Armenia:
Light jets, and the stop that comes with them
The cheap way in and the slow one: about six and a half hours with an hour on the ground in Istanbul. It suits one to four people who can accept the long sit.
Midsize
Where the range question is closest. The Citation Latitude lists about 2,700 nautical miles, which leaves little once passengers and reserves are counted, so we quote it with a stop beside the nonstop option.
Super-midsize and large
The aircraft that fly from Britain to Yerevan in one leg and the ones we quote first for a delegation or a group that wants to arrive rested.
Heavy and ultra-long range
For ten or more passengers, or when Yerevan is one leg of a longer itinerary to the Gulf or beyond. Zvartnots has a runway of 3,850 metres, so length is never the limit.
Turboprops
The aircraft for Gyumri, 120 km north-west of the capital, and for the Georgian hops. Not for the journey from Britain, which is a day of flying with two stops at turboprop speed.

For an Armenian booking the nearest suitable aircraft is often not in Britain. Istanbul, Tbilisi and the Gulf all have large charter fleets, and a positioning leg from any of them can change the price more than the choice of model. We look at the whole map before a number is sent.

Business aviation airports in Armenia
Armenia has one airport that matters to a jet from Britain and one reserve. Zvartnots takes the international traffic and the private flights, Gyumri keeps the north reachable, and the rest of the country is served by road, by helicopter or by a turboprop shuttle:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Yerevan Zvartnots EVN / UDYZ |
about 10 km west of the city, 865 m above sea level | The gateway for every international flight. One runway, 08/26, 3,850 by 56 metres, with ILS category II on 08. The aerodrome, customs, immigration, health control, handling, fuelling and de-icing are all listed as open round the clock. Private and charter flights of up to 30 seats are served through the VIP lounge, which has its own passport, security and customs posts. The AIP lists no general aviation parking and no hangar for visiting aircraft, and fuel is given as TS-1, equivalent to Jet A-1 |
| Gyumri Shirak LWN / UDSG |
about 5 km south-east of Gyumri and 120 km from Yerevan, 1,524 m above sea level | A runway of 3,220 by 45 metres with ILS category I on 02. Customs, immigration, the tower, handling and fuelling are listed from 06:00 to 18:00 local time, with one fuel truck. It is shared with the Armenian Air Force and works as a relief airport for Zvartnots. A reserve and a gateway to the north, not a first choice |
| Yerevan Erebuni UDYE |
about 7 km south of the centre | A military airfield with a runway of roughly 2,700 metres. Civil flights are occasional and mostly private helicopters. A US flight-information source lists it as an airport of entry, but we do not plan a jet there and any use would be agreed with the authorities case by case |
| Kapan, Syunik domestic |
about 4 km from Kapan, in the far south | A runway of 1,750 metres, reopened after reconstruction and served by a small turboprop shuttle from Yerevan on weekdays. It is listed as domestic and is not an airport of entry, so passengers from Britain clear Yerevan first |
Four rules settle most Armenian arrivals before a quote goes out:
The permit: 72 hours
A single non-scheduled flight to, from or within Armenia needs a permission requested online at aviation.e-gov.am, at least 72 hours ahead. It is valid for 48 hours from the time stated, and a series of flights is filed at least 15 business days ahead.
The lounge: one door for every private flight
Charter and private civil flights of up to 30 seats are served exclusively through the VIP lounge. It has its own passport, security, customs and migration posts and meets the aircraft by microbus.
Parking: ask before you land
The AIP lists no general aviation parking and no hangar for visiting aircraft. A long stay on the main apron is agreed in advance, and otherwise the aircraft drops and positions out.
Night: quiet hours on the runway
Reverse thrust beyond idle and engine run-ups are restricted from 18:00 to 03:00 UTC, which is 22:00 to 07:00 local time. Arrivals prefer runway 08 and departures runway 26, with no low flying over Echmiadzin.
One runway, so the diversion is part of the plan
Zvartnots has a single runway, and a closure or an inspection leaves no immediate alternative on the field. Handlers build the diversion into the trip file, and the options are Gyumri, 120 km away and open 06:00 to 18:00 local time, or Tbilisi, 99 nautical miles north. Bird activity is listed as significant around dawn and in the migration seasons, which is a reason to avoid the first light of an arrival if the schedule allows.
Arriving from Britain: passports, customs and what to carry
Armenia is outside the European Union and Schengen, and it belongs to the Eurasian Economic Union customs area. A flight from London arrives as an ordinary international flight, and the border is dealt with at Zvartnots before anyone leaves the lounge.
British citizens may visit Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days in a year; the passport must be valid for the whole stayevery passenger, children included
in the VIP lounge, which has separate passport, security, customs and migration posts, so nobody walks through the main terminalin the lounge, not on the apron
red for goods that must be declared and green for goods that need no declaration; passing through green counts as declaring that you carry nothing that requires itchoose before you walk through
cash and travellers' cheques worth more than USD 10,000, about £7,500, are declared; goods up to about £8,500 and 50 kg, 200 cigarettes and 3 litres of alcohol are the duty-free allowances per adultdeclare when in doubt
up to ten items, three packs of each, without a certificate; a larger quantity needs a prescription or a medical recordcarry the prescription
Aircraft paperwork, the way home and the Foreign Office map
The aircraft brings its own file: a general declaration, a passenger manifest and a cargo manifest where there is cargo. The handler hands the general declaration to customs and border control, and the health part goes to the border medical and sanitary control post at Zvartnots. Operator documents are accepted in the standard ICAO format, in Armenian or English. We confirm the routing, the handler and the permit in writing before the flight.
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and most other nationalities do. On the Armenian side, the Foreign Office advises against all travel within 5 km of the entire eastern border with Azerbaijan and along the M16/H26 road between Ijevan and Noyemberyan, and warns that travel insurance can be invalidated if you travel against its advice. We draw every itinerary away from those areas, and we suggest you check the Foreign Office map for the date of travel.

Which airport for which part of Armenia
Armenia is compact, and nearly everything starts at Zvartnots. The question is how the last stretch is made, and for the places beyond the Ararat plain it is a choice between a car, a helicopter and, for the far south, a turboprop shuttle:
the capital, the ministries, the hotels around Republic Square and the Cascade; the airport is about 25 minutes awayZvartnots
the cathedral and churches of Echmiadzin and the archaeological site of Zvartnots are on the UNESCO list, close to the airport, and departures from runway 26 avoid low flying over the townZvartnots
about 58 km north-east of Yerevan, with the town at 1,841 m and the lifts reaching 2,819 mZvartnots, then road
about 40 miles east of the capital at 1,900 m, with the peninsula monastery of Sevanavank and public beaches; 25 minutes by helicopterZvartnots, then road or helicopter
the two mountain resort towns, listed by the helicopter operator at 35 and 40 minutes from YerevanZvartnots, then helicopter
the second city and the monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin, 120 km from Yerevan; Shirak airport is 5 km from GyumriGyumri or Zvartnots
about 250 km south of the capital; the Wings of Tatev cable car covers 5,752 m in about 12 minutes; Kapan airport has a weekday turboprop shuttle from YerevanZvartnots, then helicopter or shuttle
Yerevan, the mountains and the monasteries: what our clients go for
Yerevan is where the business and the arrivals are. The city has about 1.1 million inhabitants, stands at an average height of about 990 m and is known as the Pink City for the tuff stone of its buildings. Republic Square, the Cascade and the Matenadaran sit within a short drive of each other, and Mount Ararat is visible from every part of the capital on a clear day. The fortress of Erebuni, from which the city takes its name, dates from 782 BC.
Government and corporate delegations form a steady part of the traffic. Zvartnots has a delegation terminal of its own, opened as part of the new terminal complex, but private clients of a broker go through the VIP lounge. For a short business visit the pattern is simple: arrive in the afternoon, meet the next morning and leave on the second evening.
Wine and brandy shape a second kind of trip. Yerevan has long-established brandy and wine houses, the Areni wine festival fills a weekend in early October and the Yerevan Wine Days take over the centre of the city in early June. Groups of friends and tasting tours usually fly in on a Thursday and out on a Sunday.
The mountains are the third. Tsaghkadzor combines a ski resort with an Olympic training complex and is the second town in Armenia by number of hotels. Dilijan and Jermuk are mountain resort towns, and Lake Sevan fills its public beaches in summer, with about 200,000 holidaymakers counted in one season. Paragliding runs from May to November. Tatev and the Wings of Tatev, the cable car over the Vorotan gorge, make a long day or, more sensibly, a short flight.
Visitor numbers have reached a record 2.3 million in a single year. For a private client the arithmetic is simple: the places are small, the distances look short on a map, and the mountain roads are slower than they look.
The Armenian year: ski season, vineyards and the summer heat
Armenia has more than one flying season. Yerevan works all year, while the places beyond it follow the weather:
the ski season at Tsaghkadzor usually starts in mid-December and runs into March, with the top slopes sometimes skiable in April; Yerevan can be as cold as minus 15 degrees in Januaryski and city breaks
the ski season is over and the paragliding season begins in May; the Tatev cable car runs from 10:00 to 19:00 in May and from 10:00 to 18:00 in April, closed on Mondays outside high summershoulder
long, hot summers: Yerevan reaches 40 degrees in August and the record is 43.7, while Lake Sevan and the highlands stay cooler; the Tatev cable car runs from 09:00 to 20:00 every daypeak for the lake and the heat for the city
the grape harvest and the wine festivals; the Tatev cable car keeps its 10:00 to 19:00 hours in September and moves to 10:00 to 18:00 from Octoberwine season
A hot day at 865 metres is a payload question
Zvartnots stands 865 m above sea level, and on a summer afternoon the density altitude is well above that. A light jet leaving for the stop in Istanbul may carry less than its seat count suggests, and we plan the cabin and the bags around the day. From Biggin Hill the Phenom 300E quote is £26,300 one way, and the Praetor 600 from the same airfield £32,900. In July and August the larger cabin also gives more payload margin.
The Armenian calendar: wine, water and film
The dated events are few and well known, and each pulls on a different part of the country:
What an Armenian event does to a flight plan
The peaks are short and the airport is small. The Vardavar week and the wine weekends bring family visits and tourists, and the VIP lounge and the apron fill with them. A request sent as soon as the dates are known gives the permit, the parking and the lounge time to line up.

Flying to Armenia with a dog or a cat
A dog or cat travels in the cabin, and the paperwork has two halves of very different weight: a light one for Armenia and a heavy one for the way home. Armenia is on neither of Britain's lists of countries for pet entry, and that is the fact to read before you book.
The one fact to read before you book
Armenia admits animals that arrive by air through Zvartnots, where customs and veterinary control check the papers. The core document is a veterinary certificate issued shortly before travel and endorsed by the government vet, and up to two cats or dogs travelling as personal pets are exempt from the separate veterinary-sanitary permit that other animals need. Published guidance differs on the age of the certificate (five to ten days) and on whether the microchip is compulsory, so we plan to the stricter version: five days, ISO chip.
Coming home is where the planning is. Because Armenia is not a listed country, a dog or cat returning to Great Britain needs a rabies antibody blood test taken at least 30 days after the vaccination, with a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml from an approved laboratory, and a wait of three months from the date of the sample before travel. A Great Britain pet health certificate issued in the ten days before arrival is also required, and a dog needs a tapeworm treatment from a vet no less than 24 and no more than 120 hours before landing. An animal without the right paperwork can be held in quarantine for up to four months. In practice the blood test is done in Britain, months before the trip.
- An ISO-standard microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination;
- A rabies vaccination given when the animal was at least 12 weeks old, at least 21 days before arrival in Armenia and kept in date;
- A veterinary health certificate from an official vet, issued no more than five days before travel;
- For the way home, the blood test and three-month wait described above, a Great Britain pet health certificate dated within ten days of arrival and, for a dog, the tapeworm treatment;
- More than two animals, or animals that do not travel as personal pets, need the veterinary-sanitary certificate and permit and are handled as a consignment.
Cats need the same list without the worming. We tell the handler in advance, confirm in writing that the animal will be presented at Zvartnots, and check the dates of the blood test with your own vet before the aircraft is booked.
Requirements for birds, rabbits and the less usual species, along with the countries where the timeline runs to months, are set out on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Armenia produces fewer than the big corridors, but a trip this long is nearly always one-way by nature, so the supply is real.
Where Armenian empty legs come from
– Light jets that brought clients to Yerevan with a stop in Istanbul and fly home empty, which are the cheapest of all because the aircraft is small;
– The weekends that fill the apron, from the wine festivals in early June and October to the ski season at Tsaghkadzor, when aircraft arrive full and leave empty a day or two later;
– Delegation flights that go out with a full cabin and come back with a few seats, or none, once the meetings end.
A client who can offer a few days has a far better chance of a match, though the operator owns the date and a leg can disappear when the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. A selection of Armenian empty legs follows:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Armenia (Yerevan) - UK (London Biggin Hill) one stop in Istanbul |
Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £11,050 |
| UK (London City) - Armenia (Yerevan) one stop in Istanbul |
Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £11,050 |
| Armenia (Yerevan) - UK (London Luton) one stop in Istanbul |
Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £11,150 |
| UK (Farnborough) - Armenia (Yerevan) one stop in Istanbul |
Learjet 75 Liberty | 8 seats | £13,500 |
| UK (Birmingham) - Armenia (Yerevan) nonstop |
Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £14,300 |
| Armenia (Yerevan) - UK (Manchester) nonstop |
Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £14,400 |
| Armenia (Yerevan) - UK (Bristol) nonstop |
Challenger 350 | 9 seats | £17,050 |
| UK (Edinburgh) - Armenia (Yerevan) nonstop |
Challenger 350 | 9 seats | £17,350 |
How to read those figures
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Praetor 600 from Manchester with eight aboard comes to about £1,800 a head;
– Armenian legs are less regular than the ones on a busy corridor to Germany or Italy, and they cluster after the festival weekends, so an open return date helps.

Helicopter charter
In Armenia a helicopter turns a day of mountain roads into half an hour. A local operator, Armenian Helicopters, flies a light-class fleet that its own site lists as a Robinson R66 with five seats and an Airbus H125 with six, for charter, sightseeing, heliskiing and medical evacuation. These are the times it lists from Yerevan:
the lake and the peninsula monastery, in place of about an hour on the roadabout 25 min
the northern city, 120 km by roadabout 35 min
the mountain resort town, listed at the same time as Gyumriabout 35 min
the spa and resort townabout 40 min

The times are the operator's own estimates for its light helicopters and move with the weather and the load, which in the mountains is limited by altitude and temperature. We confirm the route, the number of passengers and the baggage allowance for your date before the offer goes out.
Two points on Armenian rotary legs
A landing at a hotel, a ski slope or a monastery away from an aerodrome needs a site agreed in advance, and the operator tells us which sites it can use. Yerevan Erebuni, the military field south of the city, sees private helicopters from time to time, but it is not a place we arrange a jet. In winter and in the summer peak the seats go first, so take the helicopter and the jet as one booking.

Armenian charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
Six typical jobs put together from booking notes with the particulars changed, so none describes one named client or date.
YEREVAN · TWO NIGHTS
Two directors and a signing on the second morning
Birmingham - Yerevan, Praetor 600, about 5 h 10 min · 2 pax
The permit was filed four days ahead and the lounge was booked for both directions. Wheels up at eight, on the ground in Yerevan in the late afternoon, a dinner and a signing the next morning, and the aircraft stayed on a stand agreed in advance because the AIP lists no general aviation parking.
TSAGHKADZOR · A SKI WEEKEND
Five friends and a Friday departure
London Luton - Yerevan, Phenom 300E via Istanbul, about 6 h 35 min · 5 pax
The stop in Istanbul added an hour but saved several thousand pounds against a larger cabin. The road to the slopes is 58 km, the skis went as soft bags, and the group flew home on the Monday.
WINE · THE ARENI WEEKEND
A tasting party in early October
Manchester - Yerevan, Praetor 600, about 5 h 10 min · 7 pax
Seven guests, four nights and a day in the wine country, with the festival weekend filling the lounge. The arrival was set for the early afternoon, well clear of dawn, and the fee for the lounge was a separate line in the quote.
WITH THE DOG · BLOOD TEST FIRST
A couple and a labrador on a ten-day stay
Biggin Hill - Yerevan, Praetor 600, about 5 h · 2 pax + dog
The rabies blood test was taken in Britain more than three months before the return, the Armenian certificate was dated five days before the flight out, and the dog was presented at Zvartnots. A vet in Yerevan gave the tapeworm treatment the day before the flight home.
DELEGATION · TEN PASSENGERS
A company group with a day of meetings
Edinburgh - Yerevan, Challenger 605, about 5 h 20 min · 10 pax
The lounge fee is charged per passenger, so the quote showed it as ten lines and not one, and the manifest went to the handler two days before departure. Two cars and a minibus took the group from the lounge to the hotel.
EMPTY LEG · AFTER A FESTIVAL WEEKEND
A flexible return to London
Yerevan - London Luton, Phenom 300E empty leg via Istanbul, about 6 h 35 min · 3 pax
The client gave us a window of three days instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid about £11,150, a little under half of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector, for a Tuesday departure.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Armenia
1How long does it take to fly to Armenia by private jet?
About 6 hours 35 minutes from London to Yerevan on a Phenom 300E with a fuel stop in Istanbul, and about 5 hours nonstop in a Praetor 600 from Biggin Hill. From Manchester or Birmingham the Praetor takes about 5 hours 10 minutes. Armenia is four hours ahead of Britain in winter and three hours ahead in British summer.
2How much does a private jet to Armenia cost?
From about £26,300 one way from Biggin Hill to Yerevan on a Phenom 300E with a stop in Istanbul. A nonstop Praetor 600 from the same airfield is about £32,900, and a Challenger 350 from Glasgow about £42,000. The VIP lounge at Zvartnots charges 70,000 dram per passenger on arrival, about £140, and a hop from Yerevan to Tbilisi starts from £5,700.
3Which airports do private jets use in Armenia?
Yerevan Zvartnots is the gateway for nearly every flight, with customs, immigration, handling and fuel listed round the clock and a VIP lounge for private flights of up to 30 seats. Gyumri Shirak, about 120 km from the capital, is the reserve for the north and works from 06:00 to 18:00 local time. Yerevan Erebuni is a military field and Kapan in the south is domestic, so neither is a planning airport for a flight from Britain.
4What are the passport, customs and permit rules for a private flight from Britain to Armenia?
British citizens may visit Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days in a year, and the passport must be valid for the whole stay. The aircraft needs a permission from the Armenian aviation authorities, requested online at least 72 hours ahead and valid for 48 hours. Passengers clear passport and customs in the VIP lounge, and cash worth more than USD 10,000 is declared. The Foreign Office advises against all travel within 5 km of the eastern border with Azerbaijan and along the M16/H26 road between Ijevan and Noyemberyan.
5Can I take my dog or cat on a private jet to Armenia?
Yes. The animal needs an ISO microchip, a rabies vaccination at least 21 days old and a veterinary certificate issued within days of travel, and it is presented at Zvartnots. Armenia is not a listed country for entry to Britain, so the way home needs a rabies blood test at least 30 days after the vaccination, a three-month wait from the sample date, a Great Britain pet health certificate and, for a dog, a tapeworm treatment 24 to 120 hours before landing.
6How early should I book a private jet to Armenia?
As soon as the dates are known, and never later than the 72 hours the permit requires. The Vardavar week in July, the wine weekends in early June and early October and the ski weekends from mid-December to March fill the lounge and the apron first, and Zvartnots lists no general aviation parking, so a long stay is agreed before the aircraft leaves Britain.
