Hire a Private Jet to Eilat, Israel

Eilat is Israel's southernmost city and its only resort on the Red Sea, a sun-drenched destination at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba where the borders of Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia converge within a few kilometres. Known for its year-round warm water, its coral reefs, its duty-free shopping and its position at a unique geopolitical crossroads, Eilat draws leisure travellers, diving enthusiasts and regional business visitors from across Europe and the Middle East. Private jet charter flights to Eilat from the United Kingdom use Ramon Airport (ETM / LLER), the modern international airport opened in 2019 in the Timna Valley, approximately 18 km north of the city. Private jet charter is arranged from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Belfast on this long-haul sector, with Dubai sometimes used as a fuel and comfort stop for larger aircraft on the return leg. The region's unique position also makes Eilat a natural gateway for combined trips with Aqaba in Jordan, just 7 nautical miles to the east.

Private Jet Charter to Eilat

Ramon Airport, officially named after Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon and his son Assaf Ramon, is located in the Timna Valley desert landscape approximately 18 km north of Eilat city centre and 7 km from Aqaba Airport across the border in Jordan. The airport opened in January 2019, replacing the former Eilat Airport (ETH / LLET) which closed in March 2019 after 70 years of operation. Ramon Airport has a single runway of 3,600 metres - deliberately long to serve as a diversion airport for Ben Gurion - capable of accommodating all aircraft categories including the largest wide-body commercial aircraft and ultra-long-range business jets. The airport has a modern terminal of 45,000 m2 with handling facilities for private aviation and operates as an international Airport of Entry. For your ultimate comfort, we arrange chauffeured transfers from Ramon Airport to your hotel in Eilat, to the marina, or to any destination in the region.

Key Information:

  • Typical flight time from London to Eilat (Ramon Airport): around 5 hours;
  • Private jet charter prices: from 42000 GBP;
  • Airport: Ramon Airport (ETM / LLER), 18 km north of Eilat;
  • Distance from airport to Eilat city centre: approximately 18 km (around 20 minutes by car);
  • Aqaba (Jordan): approximately 7 nautical miles from Ramon Airport;
  • Most popular aircraft: Challenger 650, Gulfstream G450 and Global 6000;
  • Available departures from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Belfast.

The destination draws private aviation clients primarily for leisure travel to the Red Sea - Eilat's year-round warm water, coral reefs, diving and snorkelling, water sports and resort hotels make it one of the most consistent winter sun destinations for European travellers. The city also draws regional business visitors given its position at the convergence of four countries, and Israeli government and security travel is a consistent component of private aviation demand into Ramon. The geopolitical neighbourhood deserves noting: Israel remains a complex operating environment for private aviation, and overflight permissions for certain routing options require advance coordination. We manage all permits and overflight filings as part of every booking to Israel.

Private jet charter prices to Eilat generally start from approximately 42000 GBP for super midsize and large jets from London. The sector of around 2,045 nautical miles from London is a genuine long-haul flight of around five hours, requiring aircraft with significant range. The final charter cost depends on the selected aircraft, departure airport, passenger numbers, routing and any additional services requested.

reservation and payment for a private jet flight

Availability on private jet routes to Eilat is generally good, with demand peaking during European winter months when the Red Sea sunshine is most attractive to UK travellers. The Jewish holiday calendar also creates demand peaks. Advance planning for overflight permissions is always recommended.

Prices for the private jet flights to Eilat

On the Eilat route, the sector of around 2,000-2,300 nautical miles from UK airports places it in the heavy jet and large super midsize category. The Challenger 650 can fly the London sector non-stop comfortably; the Global 6000 and similar long-range jets handle all UK departure airports non-stop with range to spare.

An important operational consideration for Eilat is the routing and overflight environment. Israel is surrounded by complex airspace, and the routing from Europe depends on diplomatic clearances that vary between operators and aircraft registrations. Some overflights above certain countries require advance permits; others may not be available at all for certain flags. We assess the optimal routing for every booking and file all necessary permits in advance. This is not a concern that affects the passenger experience, but it is a genuine planning factor that makes advance booking more important for Eilat than for a standard European sector.

The combination of the long sector and the overflight planning means Eilat is best booked with a minimum of a few days' lead time, more during peak periods. Pricing is generally stable year-round, with modest peaks in December and January when European demand for Red Sea winter sun is highest.

Below are the approximate prices for the flights performed this year, from a range of UK departure cities:

  1. from London to Eilat, 12 passengers, by Challenger 650 - 68400 EUR;
  2. from London to Eilat, 13 passengers, by Global 6000 - 82600 EUR;
  3. from London Farnborough to Eilat, 12 passengers, by Challenger 650 - 66800 EUR;
  4. from London Luton to Eilat, 14 passengers, by Global 6000 - 81200 EUR;
  5. from Manchester to Eilat, 12 passengers, by Global 6000 - 86400 EUR;
  6. from Birmingham to Eilat, 12 passengers, by Challenger 650 - 71200 EUR;
  7. from Edinburgh to Eilat, 13 passengers, by Global 6000 - 88800 EUR;
  8. from Belfast to Eilat, 12 passengers, by Global 6000 - 89600 EUR;
  9. from London to Eilat via Dubai (fuel stop), 12 passengers, by Challenger 350 - 62400 EUR;
  10. from Leeds Bradford to Eilat, 13 passengers, by Global 6000 - 87200 EUR.

We can arrange flights from any UK airport to Eilat and across Israel and the wider Middle East region. If you have any questions, please use the form below:

Prices depending on the type of business jet

We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

  • Large jet (similar to Legacy 600) - from 4900 to 5800 GBP per flight hour;
  • Business liners - from 10300 GBP per flight hour;
  • Light jet - from 2100 to 3000 GBP per flight hour;
  • Long-haul jet (similar to Global 5000, Gulfstream G550, Falcon 7X, etc.) - from 5800 to 8800 GBP per flight hour;
  • Medium-sized jet (identical to Cessna Citation XLS+, Hawker 800XP, etc.) - from 3000 to 3700 GBP per flight hour;
  • Turboprops - from 850 GBP per flight hour.
  • Large medium-class jet (similar to Challenger 300, etc.) - from 4600 to 5500 GBP per flight hour;
  • Small jet, from 1700 to 2500 GBP per flight hour;

On the Eilat route, large jets in the 4900-5800 GBP per hour range and long-range jets in the 5800-8800 GBP per hour range represent the most practical options for the five-hour sector from UK airports. Midsize jets may manage the sector from London with a fuel stop but are not the preferred choice for this distance.

A group who preferred the more cost-effective option of a brief fuel stop in Dubai rather than an upgrade to a long-range jet. • Birmingham to Eilat, Challenger 650, 11 passengers - a Petra and Red Sea circuit. A group combining Eilat with a crossing to Aqaba in Jordan and an overland visit to Petra, one of the world's great archaeological sites. We arranged the jet from Birmingham and coordinated the Jordan border crossing logistics. Charter was around 71,200 EUR.
  • Edinburgh to Eilat, Global 6000, 12 passengers with two dogs - a family group. A family travelling with two dogs in the cabin for an extended stay at a Red Sea resort. Israel's pet entry requirements - rabies vaccination, microchip and health certificate - were all confirmed well in advance. Charter was around 88,800 EUR from Edinburgh.

The examples above are recent indicative charters and are provided for guidance only. Your own quote will depend on the current season, aircraft positioning, passenger numbers, routing and any additional services requested.

Business aviation airport for Eilat

The former Eilat Airport (ETH / LLET) in the city centre closed in March 2019. All flights - commercial and private - now use Ramon Airport. As a rule, flights use the following:

  • Ramon Airport (ETM) - Timna Valley, Southern Israel (ETM / IL) - 18 km from Eilat, opened 2019, all categories

Ramon Airport (IATA: ETM, ICAO: LLER), officially named Ilan and Assaf Ramon International Airport, is located in the Timna Valley desert landscape approximately 18 km north of Eilat city centre. The airport was opened on 21 January 2019, replacing both the former Eilat Airport (closed March 2019) and Ovda Airport for civilian traffic. The airport has a single runway of 3,600 metres - one of the longest in the region - designed in part to allow it to serve as a primary diversion airport for Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. The runway accommodates all aircraft categories including the largest wide-body commercial aircraft and ultra-long-range business jets. The modern terminal covers 45,000 m2 and the airport has remote parking stands for large aircraft. It operates as an international Airport of Entry with customs and immigration on site. From the airport, Eilat city centre is approximately 18 km (around 20 minutes by car); Aqaba in Jordan is just 7 nautical miles to the east.

Main characteristics of the airport:

  • The official name is Ramon Airport (Ilan and Assaf Ramon International Airport), ETM, Israel.
  • The airport is located in the Timna Valley, approximately 18 km north of Eilat.

  • Geolocation of the airport - 29°43′25″N, 35°00′41″E
  • Runway - 3,600 m, suitable for all aircraft categories.
  • IATA - ETM.
  • ICAO - LLER.
  • Time Zone: +3.0 (Israel Standard Time / +3 year-round since 2023)

Ramon Airport's long runway and modern facilities make it one of the better-equipped regional airports for private aviation in the Middle East. You can get additional information on handling from our consultants.

Operational handling at Eilat Ramon Airport (ETM)

Ramon Airport handles private aviation through its general aviation facilities with full customs and immigration on site. The airport's modern infrastructure and long runway make it straightforward for large-cabin and long-range jets, which are the natural choice for the UK to Eilat sector.

The key operational consideration for Eilat is the overflight and permit environment. Israel is surrounded by complex airspace, and routing from Europe involves overflights of multiple countries with varying permit requirements depending on aircraft registration, operator nationality and specific routing choices. Some routing options are more efficient than others, and the availability of certain overflights can vary. We assess the optimal routing for every booking, file all required overflight permits in advance, and hold contingency routing options where needed. This process is standard for Middle Eastern destinations but requires more lead time than a European sector.

Israel observes the Jewish Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday night), during which some ground services may operate at reduced capacity. We factor the Sabbath calendar into flight planning where relevant, particularly for late Friday arrivals or early Saturday departures. Since 2023, Israel no longer observes daylight saving time and remains at UTC+3 year-round, which simplifies time calculations for scheduling.

Flying to Eilat with your pet

Israel has specific pet import requirements that differ from the standard EU framework. Pets can travel in the cabin on private jet flights to Eilat, but the documentation process requires advance planning and formal pre-approval from the Israeli authorities:

  • Microchip: ISO-compliant microchip (AVID or ISO 11784/11785).
  • Rabies vaccination: valid rabies vaccination with certificate.
  • Rabies antibody titre test: Israel requires a blood titre test confirming adequate antibody levels, conducted at an approved laboratory, with results at least 30 days before travel and no more than 12 months old. This is a more demanding requirement than the standard EU AHC framework.
  • Health certificate: issued by an official vet, endorsed by the competent authority.
  • Advance import permit: a formal pet import permit from the Israel Veterinary Services must be obtained before travel. Processing time can be several weeks.

We strongly recommend starting the pet documentation process at least 4-6 weeks before travel to Eilat. Our team can advise on the process and coordinate documentation checks. Do not assume the standard EU AHC is sufficient for Israel.

Empty Leg Flights to Eilat

Travellers with flexible schedules may benefit from Empty Leg opportunities on routes between UK airports and Eilat. An Empty Leg occurs when a business jet needs to reposition without passengers and can be offered at savings of 30 to 75% versus a standard charter.   • London Farnborough - Eilat | Challenger 650 | 12 passengers | from £32,000;
  • Eilat - London | Global 6000 | 13 passengers | from £38,000;
  • Tel Aviv - Eilat | Challenger 350 | 9 passengers | from £8,400;

Eilat - destination overview

Eilat is Israel's only Red Sea resort and the country's southernmost point, a city built almost entirely for tourism and leisure at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba. The geography is extraordinary: Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia all have coastlines on the Gulf of Aqaba within sight of each other, making Eilat one of the few places in the world where four countries converge within a few kilometres. The city of Aqaba in Jordan is visible across the bay, and the lights of Taba in Egypt are visible to the south-west on the Sinai Peninsula.

The Red Sea here is exceptional. The Gulf of Aqaba is one of the world's premier diving and snorkelling destinations, with coral reefs of considerable health and diversity just metres offshore. The warm, clear water and 330 days of sunshine per year make Eilat a year-round destination for water sports of all kinds - diving, snorkelling, kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing and glass-bottom boat tours. The Coral Beach Nature Reserve south of the city protects one of the most impressive accessible reefs in the region. Dolphin Reef, where a semi-wild dolphin colony has made its home for decades, is a unique experience that draws visitors specifically to Eilat.

rent a business jet in Eilat

The city has a concentrated strip of large resort hotels along the North Beach, ranging from international chains to local five-star properties, all focused on the water and the sun. The waterfront promenade connects the hotels to the marina, to restaurants and to the duty-free commercial district that is one of Eilat's distinctive features - as a special economic zone, Eilat has had duty-free status for many years, and shopping for electronics, jewellery and luxury goods draws Israeli visitors as well as international tourists.

Beyond the beach, the region offers remarkable desert landscapes. The Negev desert begins immediately north of the city, and the Timna Valley - where Ramon Airport now sits - contains ancient copper mines dating back to the Egyptian New Kingdom period, dramatic rock formations and a small but striking national park. Petra, one of the wonders of the ancient world, is approximately 110 km from Eilat across the Jordanian border, making a combined Eilat and Jordan itinerary highly practical by private aviation.

Where to stay in Eilat - luxury hotels

Eilat has a well-developed luxury hotel strip along the North Beach waterfront, with most of the major international and Israeli resort brands represented. A selection of the best-known properties:

  • Royal Beach Hotel Eilat, a member of Isrotel Exclusive Collection - one of Eilat's most celebrated five-star properties directly on the beach, with multiple pools, a spa, fine dining and private beach access. Around 25 minutes from Ramon Airport.
  • Isrotel King Solomon Hotel - a flagship five-star hotel on the North Beach with a large pool complex, spa, multiple restaurants and the renowned Isrotel service standard. Around 25 minutes from the airport.
  • Mövenpick Resort Eilat - an international five-star resort on the waterfront with a private beach, outdoor pools, a spa and a strong reputation for service. Around 25 minutes from the airport.
  • Hilton Eilat Queen of Sheba - a five-star landmark hotel on the waterfront with a distinctive architectural design, large pool area, private beach and multiple dining venues. Around 25 minutes from the airport.

Eilat private jet charter - FAQ

How long is a private jet flight from London to Eilat?
A private jet from London to Eilat (Ramon Airport) takes around 4 hours 45 minutes to 5 hours depending on the aircraft. From Manchester or Birmingham the flight is around 5 hours, and from Edinburgh or Belfast around 5 hours 15 minutes. This is a genuine long-haul charter sector - cabin comfort and catering are important considerations.

How much does it cost to charter a private jet to Eilat?
Prices generally start from around 42000 GBP for large jets from London flying non-stop. A fuel-stop option via Cyprus or Dubai on a smaller super midsize jet can bring the cost lower. The five-hour sector requires aircraft with significant range, which places pricing in the heavy jet category.

Which airport do private jets use for Eilat?
The former Eilat Airport (ETH / LLET) closed in March 2019. All private jets now use Ramon Airport (ETM / LLER), located 18 km north of Eilat in the Timna Valley. The airport has a 3,600-metre runway and handles all aircraft categories. The old Eilat Airport site in the city centre is being redeveloped.

Do I need overflight permits for a flight to Eilat?
Yes. Flights to Israel from Europe involve overflights of several countries, some of which require advance permits depending on aircraft registration and routing. We assess the optimal routing for every booking and file all required permits as part of our standard service. This requires advance planning - ideally a minimum of a few days' notice, more during peak periods.

Can I combine Eilat with Petra or Aqaba on one trip?
Yes. Aqaba in Jordan is just 7 nautical miles from Ramon Airport across the Gulf, and Petra is approximately 110 km from Aqaba. We regularly arrange combined Eilat and Jordan itineraries using the Wadi Araba land border crossing. Tel Aviv is also available as a short domestic connection or combined charter.

Can I travel with my pet to Eilat?
Yes, but Israel's pet import requirements are more demanding than the standard EU framework. A rabies antibody titre test, advance import permit from the Israel Veterinary Services and formal health certification are all required, with processing time of several weeks. We strongly recommend starting the documentation process at least 4 to 6 weeks before travel.

When is the best time to fly to Eilat?
Eilat has over 330 days of sunshine per year and warm water year-round. The peak season for European visitors is November to March, when Eilat offers a warm-weather escape. Summer (June to September) is extremely hot with temperatures regularly above 40 degrees Celsius, and is primarily a domestic Israeli market. Spring and autumn are pleasant and less crowded.
