Private jet charter in Tunisia
A jet that leaves Biggin Hill after an early coffee touches down in Tunis in under three hours. That short sector explains much of the appeal: the country offers a capital with Punic and Roman layers under it, a resort coast with two airports of its own, an island on its own runway and, a short hop to the south, the edge of the Sahara. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. For Tunisia that means a landing permit requested from the Tunisian civil aviation authority, a handler booked at the right airport, and a straight answer on which of the six usable fields saves you the longest drive.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Tunisia depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, an Embraer Phenom 300E flying nonstop to Tunis-Carthage and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Tunisia?
Tunisia stays on Central European Time all year and does not move its clocks in summer. It is therefore an hour ahead of Britain in winter and on the same time as Britain from the end of March to the end of October. A departure at nine in the morning from the south-east lands in Tunis at about a quarter to one local time in winter, and at about a quarter to twelve in summer. These are the sectors to Tunis-Carthage on a Phenom 300E, gate to gate, from the fields our clients use most:
1,011 nautical miles, the usual field for Kent, south London and the City, and the base for the price quoted at the top of the pageabout 2 h 45 min
1,025 nautical miles, the field for Surrey, Hampshire and the Thames Valleyabout 2 h 50 min
1,048 nautical miles, the choice for north London and the counties to the northabout 2 h 50 min
1,074 nautical miles, the departure for the west of England and south Walesabout 2 h 55 min
1,165 nautical miles, the departure for the north-west of Englandabout 3 h 10 min
1,323 nautical miles, the main Scottish departure, about 310 nautical miles further than Biggin Hillabout 3 h 30 min
Tunis is the shortest run, and the rest of the country is only a little further. The same aircraft, flying from Biggin Hill, reaches each of the other gateways in these times:
1,060 nautical miles, the airport for Hammamet and the resort coast, about 40 km south-west of the townabout 2 h 55 min
1,084 nautical miles, the airport for the Sahel coast, Sousse and the old portsabout 2 h 55 min
1,143 nautical miles, the coastal city between Monastir and Djerbaabout 3 h 05 min
1,146 nautical miles, the oasis town at the edge of the salt lake and the desertabout 3 h 05 min
1,194 nautical miles, the island in the Gulf of Gabes, furthest from London of the sixabout 3 h 10 min
Why a light jet is enough, and when it is not
A light jet such as the Phenom 300E, quoted at a range of about 2,000 nautical miles, flies every Tunisian airport on this page without a stop; the longest sector, to Djerba, is 1,194 nautical miles from Biggin Hill, so there is no fuel stop to plan and none to pay for. That is why the quote and the title price are built on it.
Luggage and people decide the aircraft more often than distance. Six adults with golf bags, a family with a nanny and two weeks of luggage, or a delegation travelling with equipment cases will be happier in a Challenger 350 or a Praetor 600 than in a light jet whose baggage space is small. The operator files the route and the permissions for every state along the way before a sector is confirmed.
The exact flight time depends on the model of the business jet, as well as the speed of the tail or head wind. Our consultant will make a detailed calculation of the flight time for the chosen business jet.

Two things worth knowing about these figures
– The departure airfield moves the price by a few thousand pounds, not by tens of thousands. Edinburgh costs about £3,600 more than Biggin Hill on the same aircraft and Glasgow about £3,800 more, and each hundred nautical miles adds roughly £1,150 on a Phenom 300E. The title price is the cheapest line in the table, Biggin Hill;
– A one-way price assumes the aircraft flies back empty. For a return trip with a stay of several days the aircraft either waits in Tunisia, with parking and crew accommodation as lines of their own, or flies home and returns for you, and we show both versions side by side.
Tunis is the anchor, not the only answer. The same departure airfield costs this to the other Tunisian airports we use, with the aircraft shown in the second column:
| Route from Biggin Hill | Aircraft | Flight time | Price, one way |

Why the title says Tunis
Tunis-Carthage is both the main business gateway and the cheapest field in that list, at £13,500. Enfidha, for the beaches of Hammamet, costs £550 more because it lies about 49 nautical miles further on, and Djerba, the furthest, costs £2,100 more. These gaps are small against a long transfer by car, and the car journey is usually what decides the airport.
Private jet flights within Tunisia and to its neighbours
Most Tunisian itineraries are a loop: a jet from London to Tunis, a few days in the capital, a hop down the coast or to the south, and home from a different field. The sectors below start at Tunis, the natural hub, and include three European airports for the way on or back:

Two things worth knowing about the sectors inside Tunisia
– Whether a foreign-registered aircraft may carry passengers between two Tunisian points is a question the operator confirms in writing before we quote. We price an internal leg only when that answer is in hand, and often the practical solution is to fly into one airport and out of another, so that no domestic leg is needed at all;
– A Pilatus PC-12 covers any of the Tunisian legs in the table in a little over an hour, and the short ones in well under an hour. A domestic jet leg makes most sense for the south, where the distances are larger.
We can arrange the flights from any cities in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) and European countries. Due to a large database of available business jets, we can help you find an optimal jet and crew. If you have any questions about the departure or the flight itself, you can ask them using the form below:
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Tunisia:
Turboprops and light jets
The Phenom 300E is the aircraft behind our title price and does the London run nonstop. Once you are there, the Pilatus PC-12 NGX is the economical tool for the south and the coast, and it takes up to nine.
Super-midsize
The right size for a family with real luggage or a delegation with staff. A Challenger 350 and a Praetor 600 fly to any Tunisian field with room for golf bags and a month of clothes.
Heavy jets
For a larger party that wants a proper cabin on a three-hour sector, and for a loop that continues from Tunisia to Malta, Italy or further east.
Ultra-long range
For a programme that goes on beyond Tunisia to West Africa, the Gulf or across the Atlantic, with the reserve to fly a long leg without a stop.

Business aviation airports in Tunisia
Tunisia has six airports that matter to a private traveller, and one clear gateway. The useful question is which of the six is closest to the place you are actually going:
| Airport | Ground | How it operates |
|---|---|---|
| Tunis-Carthage TUN / DTTA |
North-east edge of the capital, about 8 km from the centre | Two runways, 01/19 of 3,200 metres and 11/29 of 2,840 metres, at an elevation of 22 feet. This is the airport that permit agents name first when they list Tunisian airports of entry. Handling is arranged through the local handlers, and we name the handler and the parking in the quote |
| Enfidha-Hammamet NBE / DTNH |
Eastern coast, 50 nm from Tunis | One runway, 09/27, of 3,300 metres, the longest of the six. About 40 km south-west of Hammamet. Owned by the Tunisian airports authority and operated by TAV Airports. We confirm the handler, the hours and the customs arrangement for private flights in writing |
| Monastir Habib Bourguiba MIR / DTMB |
Sahel coast, 73 nm from Tunis | One runway, 07/25, of 2,903 metres, 9 feet above sea level. Serves the Monastir and Sousse areas, including the resorts of Monastir-Skanes and Port El Kantaoui. We confirm the handler and hours for your date |
| Sfax-Thyna SFA / DTTX |
Gulf of Gabes, 135 nm from Tunis | One concrete runway, 15/33, of 3,000 metres, about 6 km south-west of the city, with a terminal built for 500,000 passengers a year. The airport for Sfax and the coast around the Gulf of Gabes. Handler and hours confirmed in writing |
| Tozeur-Nefta TOE / DTTZ |
Oasis country, 211 nm from Tunis | One runway, 09/27, of 3,167 metres, 87 metres above sea level. The gateway to the date-palm oases, the salt lake and the desert edge. Scheduled traffic is light, so fuel, handling and hours are confirmed in writing before a quote goes out |
| Djerba-Zarzis DJE / DTTJ |
Island of Djerba, 188 nm from Tunis | One runway, 09/27, of 3,100 metres, 19 feet above sea level. STARS Airlines Services is listed as a handler, open round the clock, with Jet A-1 fuel. The airport for Houmt Souk, the island beaches and the south-east of the mainland |
Tunis-Carthage does most of the work. A spokesman for the airport once put business aviation at about 15 per cent of its movements, close to 10,000 flights in a year, and handling was described at the time as concentrated in very few companies: Tunisair Handling and Nouvelair Handling are the names that appear in the reports. Carthage SKY Services, a Tunis company that supervises ground handling for private and charter flights, also arranges permits, catering and executive lounge facilities, the kind of local agent a broker uses for permits and catering. The drive from the apron to the centre takes about a quarter of an hour.
Enfidha-Hammamet has the longest runway of the six and stands about 40 km from the resorts it is named after, not in a town. It is a good field for a party that is going straight to Hammamet or the coast to its south and does not want to cross Tunis in a car. Monastir, on the Sahel coast, is the practical choice for Sousse, Port El Kantaoui and the old ports.
Djerba, Tozeur and Sfax each do one job. Djerba is the island, with a handler that is listed as open round the clock. Tozeur is the oasis and desert airport, with a long runway for light traffic. Sfax is the airport of the Gulf of Gabes coast. Three small fields, Tabarka-Ain Draham, Gabes and Gafsa, also appear on the lists of Tunisian airports. We rarely quote them, and never without separate written confirmation of runway, fuel and handling.
Five points settle most Tunisian arrivals before a quote goes out:
Landing permit: allow two working days
The Tunisian civil aviation and airports authority, known as OACA, approves landing and overflight permits for foreign aircraft. Permit agents typically plan 24 to 48 working hours for a standard request. We file on the day the booking is made, and an urgent request is handled case by case.
What the permit request needs
The operator, the aircraft type and registration, the purpose of the flight, the schedule and the nationalities of the crew and passengers, with the names of the lead passenger on passenger flights. If the registration, the call sign, the date or the timing changes, the permit is revalidated, so a late change of aircraft costs time.
Handler named in the quote
At Tunis the handling market is narrow, so the quote names the handler and the parking position. At Djerba STARS Airlines Services is the listed handler. At the other fields we confirm who will meet the aircraft before the permit is requested.
Weekends and holidays
Permit-office availability is rechecked for weekend, public-holiday and short-notice flights. If the departure falls on a Friday or before a holiday, we start a day earlier than the table suggests.
Slots, hours and noise rules
Slot requirements, opening hours and any noise-abatement rules differ from field to field, and are confirmed with the handler for the date of the flight, not taken from a general database.
Arriving from Britain: passports, customs and what to carry
Tunisia is outside the European Union and the Schengen area, but British visitors do not need a visa for a tourist stay. These are the points that decide whether the passengers pass through in minutes or are held at the desk:
valid for the whole stay; a damaged or torn passport can cause difficulties on departure, so check its condition before you travel, and British-Tunisian dual nationals use the same passport to enter and leaveevery passenger, children included
no visa is needed for a stay of up to 90 days; officers stamp the passport on arrival and check the length of stay on departure, and overstaying brings a fineup to 90 days
officers can ask for contact details, an onward or return ticket and proof of accommodation, and some travellers have been refused entry or delayed for lack of accommodation evidence, so carry the hotel or villa bookinghave it ready
payable on arrival: 8 Tunisian dinars per person per night in a three-star hotel and 12 in a four or five-star hotel, for a maximum of 10 nights, and not refundable if you leave earlyper person, per night
Tunisia has strict currency controls, including for pound sterling; check whether foreign currency must be declared on arrival, keep the declaration and the exchange receipts, and do not try to take Tunisian dinars out of the countrydeclare in the hall
declare anything that may be prohibited, taxed or dutiable; the customs rules are strict, so check the Tunisian customs list for medicines, electronics and giftsdeclare if in doubt
a drone brought in without authorisation is illegal and is confiscated until you leave; devices with recording, transmission or smart features, such as smart glasses and walkie-talkies, including toy ones, can be restricted or confiscated for the visitleave at home
Coming home is a flight into Britain. A General Aviation Report goes to the border authorities not earlier than 48 hours and not later than two hours before departure, British and Irish citizens need no electronic travel authorisation, and most other nationalities do.
Read the travel advice before you book
The British government advises against all travel to parts of Tunisia. The strongest warning covers the Chaambi Mountains National Park and the military zones around Mount Salloum, Mount Sammamma and Mount Mghila in the west, and in the south the militarised zone south of El Borma and Dhehiba, the strip within 20 km of the Libyan border north of Dhehiba, and Ben Guerdane and its surroundings. Travel is advised against except for essential reasons in the north-west near the Algerian border, in the Kasserine governorate including Sbeitla, and within 75 km of the Libyan border including Remada and El Borma, with Zarzis, the C118 road and the areas of Medenine governorate north of it excluded. The same text warns that travelling against the advice may invalidate travel insurance. None of the six airports on this page is among the areas named, but a drive to the far south or the western hills is planned against that map, and a flight is confirmed only when the operator holds the route, the permissions and the cover in writing.

Which airport for which part of Tunisia
The country is small enough that the airports overlap, and what matters is the length of the car journey at the other end:
the airport lies about 8 km from the centre, roughly a quarter of an hour by car; the Medina of Tunis, the archaeological site of Carthage and the village of Sidi Bou Said are all World Heritage sitesTunis-Carthage
the airport is about 40 km south-west of the town; Tunis is the alternative when the programme includes the capital as wellEnfidha-Hammamet
the airport serves the Monastir and Sousse areas and the resorts of Monastir-Skanes and Port El Kantaoui; the Medina of Sousse is a World Heritage siteMonastir Habib Bourguiba
Kairouan and the Roman amphitheatre of El Jem are both World Heritage sites in the central part of the country, reached by road from Monastir or EnfidhaMonastir or Enfidha
the airport is about 6 km south-west of the city, on the coast between Monastir and DjerbaSfax-Thyna
Djerba is the largest island in North Africa, with 514 square kilometres, Houmt Souk as its main town and World Heritage status for its settlement patternDjerba-Zarzis
the town stands in a large date-palm oasis on the north-west edge of the Chott el Djerid; a film set from the Star Wars saga stands a few kilometres to the north-westTozeur-Nefta
Tunis, the coast and the Sahara: what our clients go for
The capital is the first reason. Tunis is where the ministries, the embassies and the head offices are, and a delegation that lands at Tunis-Carthage is a quarter of an hour from the centre. The Medina of Tunis is on the World Heritage list, and Carthage and the village of Sidi Bou Said are only a short way along the coast.
The resorts are the second. Hammamet sits on the northern edge of the Gulf of Hammamet, Sousse has a walled medina on the World Heritage list, and Monastir and Port El Kantaoui are resort towns. Families who want a week on a beach with a short flight at either end are a large part of this traffic, and the choice between Enfidha and Monastir usually comes down to the address of the hotel.
History is the third: Tunisia has ten World Heritage sites, among them Carthage, the Roman amphitheatre of El Jem, the holy city of Kairouan, the Roman town of Dougga, the Punic town of Kerkuane and the Ichkeul National Park. Several of them are within a day's drive of Monastir or Enfidha, which is often the reason for picking one of those airports rather than Tunis.
The south is the fourth. Djerba combines beaches with a spring pilgrimage to the El Ghriba synagogue, and Tozeur is the base for the oases, the salt lake of Chott el Djerid and the Star Wars set that still stands outside the town.
The Tunisian year: a mild winter, a hot summer and a hotter south
Tunisia has a Mediterranean north, a semi-arid centre and a desert in the south, and the difference between them is bigger than the distance suggests:
Tunis has daytime highs of 15 to 16 degrees and lows of 6 to 8, and these are its wettest months, with about 56 mm of rain in December; Djerba averages about 16 degrees by day in Januarycool and wet in the north
daytime highs in Tunis climb from about 15 to about 25 degrees and the rain falls away, from 43 mm in March to 20 mm in May; spring is the season for the ruins and the oasesshoulder
Tunis reaches 29 to 32 degrees by day with almost no rain, and Djerba averages about 33 degrees by day in August; in the south the desert often reaches about 45 degrees, and the hot desert wind called the chergui brings a sudden rise in temperaturehigh season on the coast, very hot in the south
highs in Tunis fall from about 29 to about 20 degrees, October and November bring rain of 46 to 56 mm a month, the south becomes comfortable again, and the desert festivals fall at the end of the yearshoulder, then the desert season
Hot days and aircraft payload
The take-off performance of a business jet falls as the air gets hotter, and on a day when the south is near 45 degrees a fully loaded aircraft may have to leave bags behind or carry less fuel. For a summer departure from Tozeur or Djerba we ask the operator to confirm the payload in the quote.
The Tunisian calendar: festivals, the desert season and Ramadan
The events that move private traffic are few, and the Ramadan dates shift through the year, so they are checked before a trip is planned around them:

Flying to Tunisia with a dog or a cat
The cabin is not the problem: the animal sits beside you for the three hours and nothing goes into the hold. The paperwork is the problem. Tunisia is not a country that Britain lists for pet travel, so an animal coming home needs a rabies blood test planned months before the flight.
The one fact to read before you book
Entry conditions for Tunisia are set by the Tunisian veterinary authorities, and the summaries we can check describe them as typically an ISO 15-digit microchip, a rabies vaccination given between 30 days and 12 months before arrival, and an EU-style health certificate completed by a vet shortly before travel and endorsed by the authority of the country of departure. No import permit and no quarantine are listed for an ordinary pet, certain breeds are banned, and a pet that shows signs of a contagious disease may be examined by a vet at the owner's expense. The same summaries name Tunis-Carthage as the entry point for animals, so a pet that continues to Djerba or Monastir clears at Tunis first, unless the Tunisian side confirms another airport in writing. We confirm every item for your dates.
- A microchip, fitted before the rabies vaccination, as the return to Britain requires;
- A rabies vaccination at least 21 days before the return to Britain, and inside the Tunisian window for the outward trip;
- The Tunisian health certificate, completed shortly before departure, with the vaccination record attached;
- For the return, a rabies blood test, because Tunisia is not listed, and a Great Britain pet health certificate; GOV.UK counts three months from the date of the blood sample before an animal from a non-listed country may travel to Britain;
- For dogs only, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival in Britain. A cat needs no treatment.
An approved travel route for the return is the last item. GOV.UK tells owners to check it, and its guidance does not say how the rule applies to a private aircraft, so we confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight. An animal that does not meet the rules can be placed in quarantine for up to four months at the owner's expense.
A dog's tapeworm window for the flight home is 24 to 120 hours, so the treatment is booked with a vet in Tunisia near the end of the stay. Pit bulls, Rottweilers, Tosas and mastiff-type dogs are among the breeds that Tunisia is reported to ban. Requirements for ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide.

Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. Tunisia produces them because so many trips are one-way by nature: a family flies out for a week on the coast, a team flies in for a meeting, and the aircraft comes home or moves on.
Where Tunisian empty legs come from
– Aircraft that take a holiday party to Enfidha, Monastir or Djerba and fly back to Britain without passengers, which is the route most often offered when the holidays begin and end;
– Aircraft repositioning to Tunis or the coast before a festival or a business week, when operators move jets south from the European fleet.
A client who can offer a few days has a far better chance of a match, though the operator owns the date and a leg can disappear when the original booking changes. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page. Typical Tunisian empty legs:
| Route | Aircraft | Capacity | Whole aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rome - Tunis | Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £2,400 |
| Tunis - UK (London Biggin Hill) | Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £5,650 |
| UK (London Luton) - Tunis | Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £5,850 |
| UK (London Stansted) - Enfidha | Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £6,050 |
| Monastir - UK (Farnborough) | Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £6,100 |
| UK (Manchester) - Tunis | Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £6,450 |
| Djerba - UK (Bristol) | Phenom 300E | 8 seats | £6,850 |
| UK (Edinburgh) - Tunis | Praetor 600 | 9 seats | £9,400 |
How to read those figures
– Each price is for the whole aircraft rather than per seat. A Phenom 300E from London Luton to Tunis at £5,850 with six aboard comes to about £1,000 a head;
– A leg that points towards Britain is easier to find at the end of a school holiday, and an open return date helps.

Helicopter charter
In Tunisia a helicopter is a tool for the last stretch, not an airport shuttle: a resort or a villa without a runway nearby, a coast that is long by car, a day in the south. The times below are straight-line estimates, and a helicopter is never quoted until the operator and the landing sites are confirmed:
from the capital to the airport for Hammamet and the resort coastabout 35 min
to the Sahel coast, in place of a long road transferabout 45 min
down the coast to the Gulf of Gabesabout 40 min
from the resorts of the Sahel to the islandabout 1 h 10 min
from the island across the south to the oasis townabout 1 h 20 min
Helicopters in Tunisia are arranged case by case: the machine comes from a specialist operator and is priced separately. We book the helicopter alongside the jet, so the whole itinerary is quoted as one, and the operator confirms the route for your date.
Before you plan around a helicopter
The Tunisian authorities control where a helicopter may operate and over which areas, so we confirm the permission for every landing site and every overflown area before we quote. A hotel lawn, a private compound or a beach is not a site until it has been approved, and the areas covered by the British government advice are left out of any plan.

Tunisian charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
Six typical jobs put together from booking notes with the particulars changed, so none describes one named client or date.
TUNIS · FIXED DATES
A negotiating team and a morning meeting
London Luton - Tunis, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 50 min · 5 pax
The meeting date came from the other side, so the permit request went in on the day of the booking, with the crew and passenger nationalities and the handler named, and nothing was left to the week of the flight.
HAMMAMET · A BEACH WEEK
Two families, one aircraft and a lot of luggage
Farnborough - Enfidha, Praetor 600, about 2 h 55 min · 8 pax
The party was too large and too heavily loaded for a light jet, so the aircraft became a Praetor 600. Enfidha was chosen over Tunis because the hotel was on the coast to the south, and the saving was a long transfer in a minibus.
DJERBA · A SPRING WEEK
A couple and a villa on the island
Bristol - Djerba, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 20 min · 2 pax
The departure from the west of England saved a journey to London, and the island airport put the villa within a short drive. The aircraft waited on the island for the week, and parking was confirmed with the handler before the quote.
TOZEUR · THE DESERT IN NOVEMBER
Four guests for the oases and the salt lake
Manchester - Tozeur, Phenom 300E, about 3 h 25 min · 4 pax
The desert is comfortable at the end of the year and very hot in summer, which is why the booking was made for November. The road programme was planned against the British government advice for the south and the western hills.
WITH THE DOG · THE LONG LEAD TIME
Two adults and a spaniel for a fortnight
Farnborough - Tunis, Phenom 300E, about 2 h 50 min · 2 pax + dog
The paperwork began months before departure with the rabies blood test, because Tunisia is not a listed country. The tapeworm treatment was booked with a vet in Tunisia for the end of the stay, between 24 and 120 hours before the flight home.
EMPTY LEG · A FLEXIBLE START
A Tunis departure with a window of three days
Manchester - Tunis, Phenom 300E empty leg, about 3 h 10 min · 4 pax
The client gave us a window instead of a date, which is what makes these work, and paid about £6,450, well under half of a fresh one-way charter on the same sector, for a departure on the second day of the window.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Tunisia
1How long does it take to fly to Tunisia by private jet?
About 2 hours 45 minutes nonstop from Biggin Hill to Tunis-Carthage on a Phenom 300E, and 3 hours 30 minutes from Edinburgh. Monastir is about 2 hours 55 minutes and Djerba about 3 hours 10 minutes. Tunisia stays on Central European Time all year, so it is an hour ahead of Britain in winter and on the same time in summer.
2How much does a private jet to Tunisia cost?
From about £13,500 one way from Biggin Hill to Tunis on a Phenom 300E, the smallest aircraft we price for the nonstop run. Edinburgh costs about £3,600 more on the same aircraft. Enfidha starts from £14,050, Monastir from £14,350 and Djerba from £15,600, and a short hop inside the country on a turboprop starts from £3,100.
3Which airport should a private jet use in Tunisia?
Tunis-Carthage (TUN / DTTA) for the capital, Carthage and the north. Enfidha-Hammamet (NBE / DTNH) for Hammamet, Monastir Habib Bourguiba (MIR / DTMB) for Sousse and the Sahel coast, Djerba-Zarzis (DJE / DTTJ) for the island, Tozeur-Nefta (TOE / DTTZ) for the oasis country and the desert, and Sfax-Thyna (SFA / DTTX) for business in Sfax. We confirm the handler, the hours and the parking for your date.
4Do British passengers need a visa and a permit for a private flight to Tunisia?
British passport holders need no visa for a stay of up to 90 days, but officers can ask for proof of accommodation and an onward ticket. Foreign currency may need to be declared, and a drone brought in without authorisation is confiscated. The aircraft needs a landing permit from the Tunisian civil aviation authority, for which agents typically plan 24 to 48 working hours, and we request it on the day of the booking.
5Can a private jet fly on from Tunis to the coast or the south?
Sometimes, but an internal sector is a separate question from the flight from Britain. The operator confirms in writing whether a foreign-registered aircraft may carry passengers between two Tunisian points, and we quote an internal leg only after that answer. A turboprop covers Tunis to Monastir in about 40 min. Flying into one airport and out of another often removes the need for an internal leg.
6Can I take my dog or cat to Tunisia on a private jet?
Yes, in the cabin, but start early. Tunisian entry conditions are typically a microchip, a rabies vaccination given 30 days to 12 months before arrival and a health certificate completed shortly before travel, and we confirm them for your dates. For the return Tunisia is not a listed country, so the animal needs a microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, a rabies blood test, a Great Britain pet health certificate and, for dogs, a tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before arrival. We confirm each step in writing.
