Private jet charter in Bali
A jet leaving a London airfield needs about sixteen hours to reach Bali, and the hour on the ground in the middle of that journey decides more about the trip than the aircraft does. Private Jets UK plans the whole chain, from the first quote to the car at the other end. Our customers have access to 6,500 jets of all types and configurations available for rent. We will help you choose the best option based on your needs and objectives. Our catalog contains the models from the largest manufacturers: Gulfstream, Dassault, Embraer, Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Learjet, Cessna, Beechcraft, Pilatus, HondaJet, etc. We have established partnerships with the world's largest airlines and VIP terminals, which means we can offer you favourable flight conditions and a high level of service. Our experts will manage the organization of your flight - starting with paperwork, agreements, etc., and ending with a transfer and meeting at the airport. Our company provides a full range of business aviation and concierge services. Bali is about as far from Britain as a business jet goes. Nothing smaller than a true long-range jet will do it, a landing permit has to be in hand days before wheels-up, and the island has one runway that matters, so the questions to settle early are the route, the permit and the date.

At your request, the aviation consultants of Private Jets UK will help you choose the jet with the suitable technical parameters (production year, flight hours, and home base). The cost of the private jet charter in Bali depends on many factors, such as the model of the business jet, the number of passengers, departure and destination airports, type of flight, duration of parking, additional services, etc. Therefore, we calculate the price of each order individually taking into account your wishes. You can use an online calculator to get an instant charter quote. Please indicate your real contact details to get the final calculation.
You can calculate the cost of your flight in several ways:
- using an online calculator on the website (however, it shows only the approximate price);
- via Messenger (WhatsApp or Telegram);
- by landline or cell phone;
- via e-mail (jets@private-jets.co.uk).
Please note that the above-mentioned price is indicative only. It is calculated on this basis: a departure from Biggin Hill, a Bombardier Global 6000 with a stop in Dubai and two passengers aboard. If you want to get a personal quote, just fill out the online booking form below. Our aviation consultant will make the calculation within 20 minutes, and then contact you to specify the details of the flight.
How long does it take to fly to Bali?
About 15 h 50 min from Biggin Hill including the fuel stop, and a little over sixteen hours from the Scottish airports. The straight line from London to Ngurah Rai is roughly 7,000 nautical miles, which is more than a Global 6000 (about 6,000 nm of range) will carry with a full cabin, so we plan the trip in two legs through Dubai: about 3,070 nm from London, then 4,207 nm on to Bali. Each leg sits comfortably inside the range of a large-cabin jet, and the table gives the full distance for every British field we use. The time shown allows about an hour on the ground at the stop.

Door to door, and the clock on the wall
Take off from Biggin Hill at nine in the evening and you land at Ngurah Rai a little after eight the following evening, local time, because Bali runs seven or eight hours ahead of Britain depending on the season. Take off at nine in the morning and the arrival is mid-morning on the next day. The airport sits at the southern end of the island, about 13 km south of Denpasar, and a villa in Seminyak or Nusa Dua is between 20 and 45 minutes from the apron by road. Count the drive to the British airfield, the stop in Dubai and the arrival formalities and the whole journey comes to roughly a day.
Why Dubai, and why not one straight leg
– The geometry. London to Dubai is about 3,070 nm and Dubai to Bali 4,207 nm. A Global 6000 or a Gulfstream G550 flies both with a normal load, and Dubai has the handling, customs and fuel at any hour of the day. That is the plan behind every figure on this page;
– The ultra-long-range exceptions. A Gulfstream G650ER (rated at 7,500 nm) and a Global 7500 (7,700 nm) can cover the 7,018 nm straight line on paper. In practice the margin is thin once winds, reserves and the weight of passengers and bags are counted, so we price the stop unless an operator confirms a nonstop plan in writing;
– The crew. Sixteen hours of elapsed time is a long duty period for one crew. Ask whether the quote includes a second crew or a rest at the stop, because it changes the price and it changes how rested the pilots are when you land.

A Global 6000 from Biggin Hill or London City starts at £194,500; the same aircraft from Manchester is £197,350. The three Welsh and Scottish pairings are quoted on a Gulfstream G550, which has the extra margin on the longer totals and 16 seats against 13.

Hopping around Indonesia: who may fly it
A jet that has flown in from Britain is a foreign-registered aircraft, and Indonesia does not let it carry passengers between two Indonesian points. Bali to Lombok or Bali to Komodo is therefore a job for a locally licensed operator, and a broker that only handles long-haul charters may not touch it at all. For the Lombok run the aircraft is a Pilatus PC-12 NGX, about 69 nautical miles; Lombok has a 3,300 m runway and takes anything. Labuan Bajo, the gateway for Komodo, has a 2,250 m runway that is listed as unlit, so we check what hours the field can be used before an itinerary is built round it. The regional jets in the table are for Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and Australia, which are international sectors and follow the normal permit routine.
Before you accept an onward quote
– Who operates it. If the quote for an island leg comes from the same company as the long-haul flight, ask which Indonesian operator is flying it and whether the permit is in place.;
– Whether it is one trip. Landing in Bali, then Komodo, then back, then home through Singapore is cheaper arranged as a single itinerary, with the long-haul aircraft waiting at Ngurah Rai and a local aircraft doing the hops, than as separate bookings. Say so at the start, because permits are asked for every landing and the lead time is days, not hours.
Prices depending on the type of business jet
We can clearly show the high dependence of the cost of the flight, on the type of aircraft - we have collected approximate data, at the price of 1 flight hour, for various types of business jets:

The cost per hour indicated in the table is preliminary and does not constitute an offer or a commercial offer. Exact prices are available from the managers of the company.
Online Calculator
If you want to make an urgent calculation of the cost of a private plane flight, use our online calculator. Just fill in all the fields of the form with a note that you are interested in a specific model of the aircraft and get the final price. NB! - the figures are sent to you by email or messenger, please carefully fill in the contact details to get the calculation.
All our calculations are as transparent as possible for you. After receiving the request, we will prepare a beautiful offer - where the costs and the final price will be clearly described. The exact price is agreed in advance and is written in the contract, so you can be sure of the final cost.
Private jets are ready to take off
Our database contains over 6,500 business jets (about 3,500 in Europe and 3,000 in the rest of the world) of different configurations and production years. The list of models is constantly updated. Unfortunately, we can't post a full list of available jets on our website due to confidentiality issues. Please contact the managers of the company for more accurate information. We will help you choose a suitable model taking into account your wishes. These are the typical choices for Bali:
Long-range jets, the working class for this route
Both legs through Dubai sit inside their range. Choose by cabin: the Global 6000 for up to a dozen people, the G550 when the party is larger or the sector is longer.
Ultra-long-range, for a longer hop or more margin
They cover the straight line on paper. We still check winds, reserves and payload before promising a single leg, and the hourly rate is higher.
Regional jets, for the sectors out of Bali
The right size for Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Darwin and Perth once you are on the island. They do not fly from Britain.
Turboprops
The aircraft for Lombok, Komodo and Yogyakarta, flown by a locally licensed operator. Short sectors and a small price.
Helicopters
Not for the flight from Britain but for the last stretch: a villa without a road, a clifftop hotel or the island of Nusa Penida. Helicopters fly in daylight only, and the landing site is agreed before the quote.

This is a small part of what is available. We rarely find a suitable long-range jet waiting on the island, so a Bali charter normally starts with an aircraft positioned from Europe or the Gulf, and that is why the price is built from the London leg and not from a local base. A jet returning empty from a drop-off in Singapore or Dubai is the opening for a better price, and we look for it on every enquiry.

Business aviation airports in Bali
One airport does almost all of the work, and it is on the wrong side of the island for some clients. The others are useful in a handful of situations, and a quote that names one of them should say why.
| Airport | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Ngurah Rai International, Denpasar DPS / WADD |
The only sensible answer for Bali. It is at the southern end of the island, about 13 km south of Denpasar, with one asphalt runway of 3,000 m that takes everything from a turboprop to a long-range jet. Customs is on site, the airport is open round the clock and slot coordination applies. Private flights use the General Aviation Terminal on the south side, which is separate from the commercial terminals. The handlers include AFM Aviasi Indonesia, Karisma Flight Support and Jetrans, and ExecuJet runs a private terminal there. A lounge with showers and a business centre is offered by JAS Airport Services |
| Lombok International, Praya LOP / WADL |
Across the strait, about 69 nm from Bali, with a 3,300 m runway. It is a destination in its own right and an occasional alternate. We found no business-aviation handler listed there, so a visit needs its own arrangement, and a foreign-registered jet cannot use it for a domestic hop from Bali |
| Komodo, Labuan Bajo LBJ / WATO |
The gateway to Komodo, about 290 nm east of Bali. A 2,250 m asphalt runway, listed without lighting, so it is a daylight turboprop or small-jet destination and not a diversion for a long-range aircraft |
| Dubai, the usual technical stop DXB / OMDB, DWC / OMDW |
Where we plan the fuel stop on the way out and the way back. Two airports are available, and which one we choose depends on the handler, the slot and the aircraft. The stop adds about an hour on the ground, which the flying times in the tables above already include |
Four points settle most Bali arrivals:
Choose the handler
Ngurah Rai has several handlers. AFM Aviasi Indonesia does the ramp work with its own equipment, Karisma Flight Support and Jetrans are the other names we see on the schedule, and ExecuJet operates the private terminal. Service and fees differ, so we ask the operator for its preference and give the driver the terminal name along with the flight.
Hours, slots and Nyepi
The airport is open all day and night, but slot coordination applies, and landing slots and parking must be arranged in advance, especially in high season and on public holidays. Once a year, for Nyepi, it closes for 24 hours from 06:00 to 06:00, and no aircraft move in or out.
Entry and permits
A landing permit takes three to five working days, with a General Declaration for the flight. Passengers on a British passport get a visa on arrival for 30 days (IDR 500,000, about £27), need six months left on the passport and fill in the All Indonesia card within 72 hours before arrival. The tourist levy is IDR 150,000, about £8.
Cars and traffic
Allow 20 to 45 minutes to Seminyak and Nusa Dua, longer to Canggu and Ubud. Rush hours run roughly 07:30 to 09:30 and 16:30 to 20:00. Ride-hailing is restricted at the airport, so a private car is booked with the flight and the driver is told the terminal.

Border, passport and permits
Indonesia does not work like a European charter. The permit comes first, and it comes days ahead. A foreign operator applies for the landing permit three to five working days before the flight, files a General Declaration, and plans the foreign leg to land at one Indonesian airport; from there any domestic sector goes to a local operator because cabotage is closed. A British passenger arrives on a visa on arrival, which the handler can speed up at the terminal, provided the All Indonesia card is done in the 72 hours before landing and the passport has six months left. Plan the permit before the hotel: a booking made on Monday for Friday does not work.

From the apron to the villa
Bali is small on the map and slow on the road. The airport is in the south, the resorts are strung along the southern coast and the beaches to the north-west, Ubud is inland, and one traffic jam will cost an hour. The times below are for a car, in normal conditions; the helicopter lines are for the hops that avoid the road altogether.

Flying to Bali with a dog or a cat
This is a question to settle at the very start, because Indonesia is a harder destination for a pet than any European city. The flight is sixteen hours with a stop in a third country, and the paperwork has two halves: getting the animal in, and getting it back to Britain. The animal stays beside you in the cabin.

What the two halves look like:
- Into Indonesia: the import conditions are set by the Indonesian authorities and changed more than once. Importing pets through Denpasar has been reported as restricted, so we do not give a list here. We confirm the entry point and the paperwork for the animal in writing before the flight, and we do that before a quote is accepted;
- Into Great Britain: Indonesia is not on the GB list of countries with the simple pet rules (Part 1 or Part 2), so the stricter rules for non-listed countries apply, and these include a rabies blood test;
- For dogs, a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before arrival in Britain. Cats do not need it, and each animal travels with the pet travel document and a declaration;
- No more than five animals per traveller, and a risk of quarantine of up to four months if the rules are not met;
- The stop in Dubai is a third country, so its rules for an animal in transit are checked as well.
What catches owners out on the Bali run
– The blood test is the long part. The timing of the rabies test and the wait that follows are fixed by the rules for non-listed countries, so the planning starts months before the trip, not weeks. A date that cannot move is better booked after the paperwork than before it;
– A return that does not meet the rules means quarantine, not a fine. We would rather you hear that before the flight than at Heathrow;
– A holiday of two weeks with a dog is possible, and a holiday booked for a Friday with a dog usually is not. Many families end up leaving the animal with relatives, and that is an honest answer we give when the dates and the rules do not meet.
Requirements for cats, ferrets, birds and anything less usual are collected on our flying with pets guide, and our managers confirm the position in writing for your dates before a booking is taken.
The Bali calendar: a dry season, two peaks and one day of silence
Bali has a rhythm that is the opposite of a ski resort. The dry months bring the visitors and the wet months bring the bargains, two peaks stand out, and once a year the island stops completely. Knowing which week you want matters more than choosing an aircraft.
Why a peak week costs more
Not the flying. The long-range fleet is small compared with the light and midsize fleets and every aircraft is already positioned somewhere else. What gets tight at the peaks is the slot at Ngurah Rai, a parking space at the General Aviation Terminal, a car for the late arrival and a crew that has not exhausted its hours. A booking made a fortnight before Christmas can still be done, but it pays more, and it may mean an aircraft brought from the Gulf. The same booking made two months earlier is simpler and cheaper. Outside the peaks and the holiday days the wait for a permit is the main limit, not the aircraft.
Ways to bring the Bali price down
- Shift the dates by a week to leave the Christmas and the July and August peaks. The shoulder months of April to June and September to October are dry and calmer;
- Ask where the aircraft is based. A Global 6000 already in Dubai or Singapore needs less positioning than one in London, and on a route this long positioning is a large part of the bill;
- Look at the size of the party before the aircraft. Up to a dozen people, a Global 6000 does the job; a G550 costs more per hour and earns it only for a bigger group or a longer total distance;
- Think about the parking. A stay of one week with the aircraft waiting at Ngurah Rai is priced differently from an aircraft that flies home and returns, and the better answer depends on the number of days.
Types of flights
Bali produces a different mix from the business-led cities we cover, because almost everyone is going for the island itself, and the aircraft is a way of removing a connection and a day from the trip.
- Family and villa holidays at Christmas and in the summer, with children and staff, usually 6 to 12 people and a lot of luggage;
- Wedding and celebration parties, often 12 to 16 guests on a larger aircraft, flown out together;
- Honeymoons and long stays, where the aircraft is a one-way booking and the return is by scheduled flight;
- Business trips tied to Singapore, Jakarta or Australia, with Bali as the end of a longer loop;
- Wellness retreats around Ubud and the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival in October;
- Island extensions to Lombok and Komodo flown by local turboprops, and helicopter trips to Nusa Penida.
One-way or return is the question that takes the longest to answer. A return with the aircraft waiting for a week is a large invoice, and a one-way flight out with a scheduled flight home is cheaper than it looks, because the crew would otherwise be paid to wait. We quote both ways so that the difference is visible before you decide.
Empty Legs
An empty leg is a repositioning flight with nobody aboard, offered at a fraction of the usual price. On a route as long as London to Bali they are rare, and they come from the pattern of the traffic rather than from volume.
Where Bali empty legs come from
– The peaks. Large-cabin jets fly families out for Christmas or the summer, and the aircraft often returns to Europe or the Gulf empty a few days later, which produces an outbound leg you can book;
– The regional loop. Aircraft positioned to Singapore, Jakarta or Australia for a business trip sometimes pass through Bali on the way back, and the Bali to Dubai sector can appear at a lower price;
– The Dubai stop. When one aircraft finishes a job in the Gulf and needs to reach Britain, a London-bound leg becomes available at short notice.
Because a long leg is unusual, a client who can name a window of several days has a far better chance than one who needs a particular evening. What you give up is the usual: the operator owns the date and the hour, and a leg can vanish when the original booking moves. Whatever is free is listed on our empty legs page, and we flag a Bali match the day an operator releases it.

Helicopter charter
On Bali a helicopter is a tool for the edges of the trip. The road network is slow, so it earns its place for cliff-top hotels, the island across the strait and the hill villas that have a lawn and no easy drive.
against 1 to 1.5 hours by road from the airportabout 12 minutes
the cliff viewpoint, otherwise a boat journeyabout 20 minutes
the lakes in the north of the islandabout 35 minutes
charter from the airport to a hotel helipadon request
the island next to Nusa Penidaon request
where the site is cleared in advanceon request
Before you plan around a helicopter
– Daylight only. The scenic operators fly in the day, and a late jet arrival does not make a helicopter transfer; the road is the answer after dark;
– Landing places. One hotel in Ubud has its own private helipad, which is the kind of site that makes a transfer possible, and a villa lawn needs its status confirmed before we quote, not after;
– Weather. The dry months from April to October are the dependable ones for rotary flight, and a cancelled flight for weather is rescheduled, not refunded, by the scenic operator we checked.
The machines on the island for charter are the Airbus H120 and H135, and the H130 and Bell 429 on the scenic and private side. We book the helicopter alongside the jet so that both crews work to one timetable.

Bali charters from the booking notes: six typical trips
What the corridor looks like once a quote turns into a flight. Six typical jobs of the kind that come through our booking notes, described in outline, with the particulars changed.
CHRISTMAS · FAMILY AND STAFF
Six people, a nanny and a month in a villa
Biggin Hill - Bali via Dubai, Global 6000, about 15 h 50 min · 7 pax
The dates were fixed by the school holiday, which put the booking in the peak weeks. The quote was built two months ahead, the landing permit was applied for with a week in hand, and the villa car met the aircraft at the General Aviation Terminal. The return went by scheduled flight.
WEDDING PARTY · THE BIGGER AIRCRAFT
Fourteen guests flown out together
Glasgow - Bali via Dubai, Gulfstream G550, about 16 h 15 min · 14 pax
A group travelling as one party. The Gulfstream took the numbers and the luggage that a Global 6000 would have struggled with, and the longer total from Scotland is why it was the aircraft in the quote. The wedding date was set around the dry season.
NYEPI · THE DATE THAT MOVES
A departure planned for the Day of Silence
Bali - Dubai, Global 6000 · 5 pax
The client asked for a Bali departure on a date that turned out to be Nyepi, when the airport is shut from 06:00 to 06:00. The departure was moved to the day before, with the hotel checkout and the car adjusted. It cost one phone call, because it was caught at quoting stage.
BUSINESS · A REGIONAL HOP
A day in Singapore and back to the island
Bali - Singapore Seletar, Citation XLS+, about 2 h 35 min · 6 pax
Singapore Seletar is the business-aviation airport, with a runway of 1,836 m, and it is close to the city. The Citation did the sector in under three hours, waited on the ground and flew back that evening. The outbound permit was applied for in advance, as every international landing needs one.
A DOG ASKED ABOUT · ANSWERED BEFORE THE QUOTE
A spaniel and the return paperwork
London to Bali and back, Global 6000 · 4 pax + dog
The family asked about the dog first. We explained that importing it through Denpasar was reported as restricted, and that coming home would need the rules for a non-listed country, including a blood test, weeks before the date. They left the dog with relatives. Sometimes that is the right result of a quote.
ISLAND HOP · A LOCAL OPERATOR
Lombok on a turboprop for a long weekend
Bali - Lombok, Pilatus PC-12 NGX, about 40 min · 7 pax
The long-haul aircraft waited at Ngurah Rai because it may not fly a domestic leg. A locally licensed operator did the hop, with its own permit, and the two bookings were run as one itinerary so that the timings matched.
Frequently asked questions about flying to Bali
1How long is a private jet flight from London to Bali?
About 15 h 50 min from Biggin Hill or London City including a stop of roughly an hour in Dubai, and around 16 h 15 min from Glasgow. The distance is about 7,300 nautical miles by way of Dubai, split into legs of 3,070 and 4,207 nm. Bali is seven or eight hours ahead of Britain depending on the season, so an evening departure lands in the evening of the next day.
2How much does a private jet to Bali cost?
From about £194,500 one way on a Global 6000 out of Biggin Hill or London City, and £195,050 from Luton. Manchester is £197,350, and the Gulfstream G550 quotes from Wales and Scotland run £207,200 to £209,450. The Christmas and New Year weeks and the July and August peak price above these figures, and permits and landing charges are added once the dates are fixed.
3Which airport should a private jet use in Bali?
Ngurah Rai International (DPS / WADD) is the only choice for almost every trip. It is about 13 km south of Denpasar, open round the clock, with one 3,000 m runway, customs on site and a separate General Aviation Terminal on the south side. Handlers include AFM Aviasi Indonesia, Karisma Flight Support and Jetrans, and ExecuJet operates a private terminal there. Lombok has a 3,300 m runway but no handler we could find listed.
4When is the best time to fly to Bali?
The dry season runs from April to October, and the shoulder months of April to June and September to October are calm and dependable. The peaks are mid-December to late January and July to August, when slots and parking are tight and a charter should be booked weeks ahead. The airport also closes for 24 hours, from 06:00 to 06:00, for Nyepi, usually in March.
5What do British passengers need to enter Bali on a private jet?
A visa on arrival for 30 days (IDR 500,000, about £27), a passport with at least six months left, and the All Indonesia card filled in within 72 hours before arrival. A tourist levy of IDR 150,000, about £8, is added. The operator also needs a landing permit, which takes three to five working days and requires a General Declaration, so a booking should be made at least a week ahead.
6Can I take my dog to Bali on a private jet?
The dog travels in the cabin, but Indonesia is a hard destination for a pet. Importing pets through Denpasar has been reported as restricted, so we confirm the entry point and the paperwork in writing before the flight. For the return, Indonesia is not on the GB list of countries with the simple pet rules, so the stricter rules for non-listed countries apply, including a blood test, plus a tapeworm treatment for a dog 24 to 120 hours before arrival.
